She just removes herself from the situation if possible. Finds an area where she can just sit and unwind/meditate and it makes her feel a little better sometimes. If that's not possible she'll talk it out with someone she trusts.

She likes to think she's a good person, and honestly she really is. She has stuff that weighs on her though and makes her doubt herself a lot.

28. Is there a place that reminds them of their childhood? Is that good or bad or bittersweet?

He isn't really sure why at first, but Tex gets a bittersweet little pang in his chest when he first wanders into the Crimson Caravan Company. He's got quite the soft spot for brahmin and will even softly chat with them while he pats them on the head. There's this foggy image he gets of a woman feeding cattle while holding a little girl that frustrates him to no end simply because he can't place who it is. Once his memories start to come back to him, Tex can recall these two being his mother, Abigale, and younger sister, Parker.

29. Is there a quote/lyric that truly resonates with them?

one of my favorite songs i have on Tex's playlist for him is Heaven Knows by First Aid Kit. particularly the opening few lyrics:

BUT bonus extra quote is: Tex has one of those metal flip lighters that says "though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death i shall fear no evil for i am the evilest son of a bitch"

30. Are they an overthinker?

oh super not. incredible UNDER thinker. "Act Before I Think" runs in Tex's blood, consequences be damned. this ofc means he sticks his foot directly into his mouth a lot; sometimes he'll even more or less forget what he's said. the way he sees it is that he's already done or said whatever it is, why think about what he could have done differently.

"For some, being safe inside quarantine areas is the only way to survive the outbreak that has been going on for over 20 years now. But for Maeve, it feels like the breaking point for her and Calum."

“I didn’t ask you to save me, Calum!” her voice raised, hands making cut motions in the air for each other said like knives meant to hurt him, somehow. X’s eyes froze, as if seeing an explosion right in front of him, and the boom reverberating through every bone of his. “This” she vaguely gesticulates around “was not what I wanted. We were barely making it together, Calum! And you thought bringing me here on your white horse would suddenly make me feel what? Grateful? And we would work on whatever was killing us outside? In this quaratine hell?”

 There is silence for a minute. A quiet hum fills it as they stare at each other. Anger meets hurt, but it’s not enough for Maeve. She looks into Calum’s eyes for clues, for any chance of an answer. This is nothing new, she knows. The feeling that comes in these arguments is almost of a Deja Vu, words rehearsed so many times it almost feels like a beautiful sad dance; each knows their place, fingers being pointed at precisely the right time for the other’s eyes.

“answer me, Cal” she pleas, eyes softening for a moment as she looks for a light inside of his green ones. 

“I wouldn’t let you die outside” his voice quivers, but it is clear how much he is trying to keep it controlled “that’s out of the question. You can’t ask me to let you die, Mae. Doesn’t matter how much you hate this, or me.”

“I wasn’t going to die outsi-”

“Of course you fu-” he breathes “of course you would! I can be a lot of things to you, but I’m not an idiot.” 

Silence again. Calum runs his hands over his hair, paces a bit before making his way towards the door. Always the one to keep words to himself, bottle feelings up and leave first. A gift, he considered, but to Maeve it felt like running away from problems.

“I won’t let you blame me for still loving you” He turns around, brows furrowed in an almost angry face. Almost. Calum was too hurtful to feel anything of the sort for Maeve. “I wanted to give you a shot in the future. Shit, I didn’t even consider us, you know? I’m not oblivious! I know we have no future. If you want this to end, just say so. But don’t push it to me anytime you can’t deal with things how they are now. If you loathe me so bad, you will have to end it.”

He turns around, knowing the next steps to the dance very well; no ending words or additions to the choreography. Just silence, as always. There are days when he wants it to be over, for her to make her move so the curtains can be drawn and the audience to clap sadly to their concert. Then, words would be thrown at them like bouquets to congratulate their hard work, the long nights rehearsing the same arguments meant to impact. And then they would both hold hands one last time to thank everyone for coming and staying for the show.

Yesss, VB indulgence!

My Prisoner’s name is Tibbs! Here’s a lil ref sheet thing with his stats and such, and then underneath that is a screenshot of him from the demo (his hair length varies from completely bald to this length):

His main skills are Lockpick (since he got arrested in the first place for stealing), Small Guns and Persuasion, and he uses a combination of combat, science and diplomacy in quests.

I haven’t finalised his whole storyline yet because I only created him in his current form this summer, but some of his quest outcomes are...

He tames Devil Dog and eventually adopts him into his party

He spends a few months with his main objective being to find holodisks for ZAX in the Boulder Dome to use as storage space, and eventually finds a large storage unit for long-term use

He doesn’t really intervene much in New Canaan, and so he leaves Marshall in the town (which eventually leads to other OCs of mine dying...)

He travels alone at first, then eventually ends up as the leader of a huge group, including all companions, and later on also the Boulder scientists and a few other prisoners too

He manages to formulate a treatment for the New Plague, with a lot of help from the Boulder scientists and the Nursery

In the final act, he convinces Victor Presper’s minions to turn on him and kill him, then detonates the missiles whilst still in the satellite rather than launching any. Sadly there’s no way for him to get out before it explodes, though :(

ok i was gonna answer this last night but i accidentally refreshed the page after writing my answers ;_; it’s time for ROUND TWO of answering this ask

i used a random number generator and it gave me vincent as the oc i have to do this for. so here we go. 

16. What is your OC’s strongest childhood memory? Why and how as that impacted him/her?

i think vincent’s strongest childhood memory is losing his eyes, and how much more inhospitable the world felt leading up to and after that. following that, he definitely felt like he had less to lose overall and the choices he made ultimately led him to meeting mordecai’s dad. 

38. How does your OC react to and handle stress?

vincent handles stress one of two ways-- he tries to fix the problem as soon as possible if it involves someone else, or, if it’s something that is only effecting him, he generally has an almost random reaction from extreme, out of place anger to falling apart emotionally. so, i would say badly, even when he handles things the better way out of all those options.

47. How easily does your OC forgive?

he doesn’t forgive easily, but it may be hard for other ocs to know when he’s still mad about something that happened years or even decades ago.

52. What are some of your OC’s motivations?

at one point in time, vincent’s main motivations were pursuits of knowledge and love, but he’s become rapidly disillusioned in recent years by the behavior of humans in general. i think he still has some people he’s interested in protecting and that’s what is currently keeping him going.

64. What are some habits your OC has picked up?

i feel like vincent has a lot of spatial-checking habits relating to mordecai using magic to move things like doorways when they were feuding in decades past.

Dear Aisling,

(And Mom) (And Edith) (And Uncle Callahan) (And Jamie and Susie)(The triplets will probably want to read this too, right?) (Hi everyone)

So - the elephant in the letter room. I know you’re mad – real mad, probably. I can’t really say I blame you – all the unanswered letters, the vague replies, the months I’ve spent away. I’ve taken some time trying to figure out how exactly to go about this – do I spend a paragraph on the apology, or a page, or do I mention it in passing and save the grovelling for when I’m home? Well, I think given the state of things, I might … pepper in my apologies, while I finally try explain myself. I know I owe you (all) an explanation. I’m sorry you’ve had to wait until now to get it from me.

So, basically (Aisling, can you please make sure Mom and Susie sit down?) (I’m asking you because I know they won’t do it if I ask them myself) I got shot in the head.

I’m sorry!

Now, don’t worry! (Mom, PLEASE don’t worry) I’m fine. The man who shot me, Benny, he … well, he wasn’t a great shot, as it happens. He aimed point blank at my head (Mom, I’m okay!) and somehow still only managed to graze just above my ear (Mom, I still have my ear. I’m alright). Didn’t stop him from trying to bury me, though (Mom, I swear to you I’m just fine.) I woke in a town called Goodsprings, in the home of the doctor who stitched me up before I bled out (Aisling, check Mom, please. Maybe you could all take a quick five minute break here?).

Anyway, long story shot, the package I was set to deliver was gone. Taken, I’d assumed, by Benny. I KNOW what you’re thinking – why didn’t I come back home after all of this? Well, I didn’t want to come back empty handed. We needed the caps.

I’m sorry.

I spent a good month or so travelling around towns and settlements in the Mojave. I hated it, but Aisling, I think it might suit you despite all the deathclaws. Met a lot of people – most of them weren’t all that fond of me, but some reminded me of home. Good people. My travels led me to New Vegas, were I met a Pre War Millionaire who had uploaded his consciousness into a giant terminal and was controlling the city with an army of Securitrons, and a group of powerful families who may or may not have been cannibals.

Yeah, I know. I’m sorry.

Turns out this man, or machine, or . . . Turns out “Mr. House" was the client I was supposed to deliver for. Said the package was a platinum chip – or, more accurately, a key to full control over New Vegas’ securitron army. Anyone with the key was king, essentially.

At this point, I really didn’t feel like I could turn him away even if I wanted to. I owed him, I guess. Needed to make it right for losing his chip in the first place. I’m sorry.

I confronted Benny (politely!). He got away. I got shot at, again (I’m FINE, Mom!) and then he got captured by Caesar’s Legion. (You know the stories, Uncle Callahan. Turns out they’re ever worse than anything you could’ve told me.)

With some help, I managed to get into the Legionnaire camp (awful), met Caesar (awful) and freed Benny (still awful), somehow escaping with my life in the meanwhile. He must’ve decided not to risk shooting at me again, because he gave me the chip and that was that. Small mercies, I suppose.

I guess seeing the state of things with the Legion, their cruelty and mercilessness, has put some things into perspective. Up until this point I’d been helping out Mr House, mostly because I thought it to be the right thing. It’s his property, after all - and I was hired to bring it to him. But, seeing Caesar’s people up close … slavers and murders and rapists alike … I don’t think I can just sit by anymore. What kind of brother would I be if I didn’t do everything in my power to keep people like that from living in the same world as my sisters? What kind of son would I be?

I’m fighting the Legion. I’m going to keep fighting the Legion. I’m sorry.

I ended up giving the chip to that new West Coast group, the NCR. I’m still not fully sure what the think of them, but they’re trying to make the world safe, more secure, and if nothing else, I want that for you all. Especially now. So many of my months now have been spent helping people, forging alliances and friendships with all sorts – the Khans, the Brotherhood of Steel (Dad would’ve been so impressed by their bunker, Aisling), a group of demolition experts calling themselves Boomers, and even a group of friendly supermutants! (I’m okay, Mom. Promise.)

As for how it all ended, well … that’s the thing. The big thing. The reason I’m writing this now, as opposed to before, or later. This infighting with New Vegas and the NCR and Legion … it’s not over yet. There’s still one more thing to do, one more fight, one that I’m not entirely sure I’ll live through.

I’ll be okay. Once this is over, I’m coming home – and I’m coming home with enough caps to save us. But in case I don’t make it back I love you all, and miss you all. But this is something I need to see through to its end. I can’t keep looking the other way anymore. I have to be better, for all of your sakes.

I’m sorry.

Aisling, take care of Mom for me until I get back. Mom, try not to worry too much while I’m gone. Uncle Callahan, say hello to Holiday for me.

cyborg QUEEN -very soft and calming. she gives off big motherly vibes and cares deeply about you. she will absolutely make sure you are a healthy and happy human with no diseases :) (FREE HEALTHCARE) -if you live with her shes going to have to deal with normal human activities like eating and cooking and she can't do any of those. the only think she can cook is [REDACTED] -YOU GET TO HEAR HER SING she has a very soft voice that is either comforting or chilling depending on the person hearing it. another bonus of her voice mimic is that she will remember everything you say and repeat it -shes less aloof and shows more emotions towards you that nobody else gets to see, though she will still have her ptsd. sadly she will be tough to crack in terms of helping her. she does not want her problems to be yours at all -you have to deal with her doing.....unnatural things, shes very happy of sharing all of her technology but be prepared to be disturbed. she loves scaring people -pda isnt really her thing but shes a top and will carry you around -on some days she might get so hyperfocused on her work that she'll spend days doing the same thing without sleep. this is just normal. sometimes she'll sleep for days -she will stop inducing herself into comas for you since she has company :) however if she gets sad or embarrassed she might take a break -still not big on talking to other people and she will still have her quirks, you can't really do much -however with TAU he'll initially be very wary of you and observe you closely. expect nightly visits, he wont attack or do anything but hes just very protective. he'll stay clear since he prefers to not interact with other people unless hes able to make some kind of mutualistic relationship. hes just ur awkward roommate, but eventually he will become interested in getting 'knowledge' about you
