This is way outside of my usual content, but I just saw Twitter is called X now, and I'm completely confused.

Twitter destroyed the old checkmark system. They fired a lot of their old staff. They made stronger limits on speech than their predecessors, caving further to authoritarians. They started limiting how many Tweets you can read per day. Every move made by Twitter has been a colossal mess allowing for Threads to rise up as a major competitor overnight.

And the ONLY thing Twitter had going for it is brand familiarity and the hope people would stick around because it familiar.

And now they renamed it X?

Is... Is Musk actually trying to kill Twitter? That's the only possible reason I think anyone could have thought this was a good idea. If he just blew tens of billions of dollars so he could crash the entire ship.

Fucked up how tumblr doesn't even feel that broken now im using it. Like, people hyped it up as this utterly broken website that you can barely use, but twitter will stop being able to play videos for a week because Elon chewed on the cables, reddit randomly decided to kill all its users to make $12, threads launched missing basic features like a search button. When I come here and the feed suddenly stops working after 6 posts, it feels like business as usual
