Last night was Missouri Contemporary Ballet’s annual fundraiser, the only one of those things I still go to because it’s actually fun, and life is too short to trudge through another silent auction, and while it was an absolute blast - I put on heels for the first time in two years! That weren’t boots or wedges! - the amount of sensory overload from that type of environment is even more overwhelming than usual, so I plan to spend the entire weekend alone, in silence. 

Like, I don’t want to see or talk to a single other human being. I don’t want to watch tv. I don’t want to listen to music. I want to sit in the sun with a stack of magazines and zone out for 48 straight hours.

epilepsy culture is being horrified by crowds and developing a fear of it. one time i was stuck in a huge crowd and i started having non-stopping seizures. i vaguely remember 30 people around me pushing me down with their hands so i can stop moving, putting stuff in my mouth, shouting and screaming about what to do. 5 people together had to carry me to the ambulance because paramedics couldn't get there because of crowd. i spent the night at ER that day, and since that day, i have an anxiety attack whenever i'm too close to a crowd.

Oh absolutely!! Humans, willingly or otherwise, are naturally vast. No matter what you do, there are billions of other humans out there and I adore how crowds exagerate that. It becomes not a question of if your existence is small, its a physical display of such a thing.

It becomes worse the more crowded it is, too. All of these people rushing places, all of these twists and turns- its impossible to know where you’re going. Just as you think you’ve found yourself out of the labrynth, someone moves in your way or bumps into you, and you lose sight of it for a second. Then, before you know it, you’ve wandered back into the heart of the city.

oh god the situation in itaewon :((( being in crowded places is so scary and there's already casualties. everyone pls be safe out there. this was for halloween. its already a nightmare with covid but being in a stampede??

ive been keeping up with the news and ive seen the videos and i honestly have no words in the face of this tragedy. the govt def should have done better to protect its citizens and planned for contingencies better. i hope everyone is going ok :( my condolences to everyone affected.

It's weird, how trauma works. Eddie has become quite familiar with this since the spring break from hell. Like how he can have days he doesn't even think about it, no nightmares, nothing, but then the next day he can't even get out of bed because of it.

Days where he wakes up in a cold sweat, the feeling of bats still digging into him, others he just gets to wake up to see his sweet boyfriend's sleeping face.

There are triggers he doesn't even think about compared to the ones he can avoid. He knows that flickering lights and dogs at night will leave him reeling. He didn't expect to have the air swept out of him in the middle of a grocery store though.

He and Steve had gone to get ingredients to make Wayne his favourite dinner for his birthday. Today had even been a good day, woken up by soft kisses and a cup of coffee.

They were halfway through their shop, Steve had realised he forgot flour and had popped back a couple aisles leaving Eddie to get the pasta. Two kids had rushed past him, only about ten or so years old.

"Eddie!" One of them had screamed, chasing after the other. But Eddie didn't hear a young child, innocently running through the grocery store. Instead he could hear Dustin, cold air surrounding him, bats screeching. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't move. Dustin, Dustin was calling him and he couldn't help him, he was dying.

"Eddie?"

If Vecna ever returned let it be known no song could save him more than that voice.

"Stevie?" He choked out, he felt a hand gently take his, fingers soothing over his knuckles instead of bites.

The air was warmer, lights bright and white overhead instead of red lightning.

"You looked a little lost up there," Steve said tilting his head up to Eddie's own.

"Just for a minute, you found me though."

"Always will, Eds."

I like to hc that Durge heals abnormally quickly but now I also think he should be able to regenerate body parts just to make him even more unsettling due to what he is. He knocks out a tooth and it just grows back the next day. A finger? No problem. Bigger parts like a whole hand take longer to regenerate but so far anything that wouldn't kill him will grow back just fine.

I've seen some hcs that Durge acts like a cat and leaves Gortash body parts and whatnot, and what better present than his own child-of-a-god bodyparts?
