10 year picrew game

2010 (age 14-15)

Back then I was known around the neighborhood for being the “bad twin” . Me and my twin brother were together w/ the other kids around every single day. I tended to be more “boy-ish” and “fighting with everyone” according to the people. I grew up surrounded by boys and apparently, imitating their way of talking and acting resulted in me being the “rude” girl, resorting always to punching and yelling. Being always asked why I’m not “clam” and “chill” like my brother. (in fact, my brother had a lot more of RAGE problems that I’ve ever did. Breaking and destroying everything near him in the process. but since he did that only at the privacy of home, I still remained with the “bad twin” name)

Later that year I finished school at the village and went studying in the city w/ my brother. Since we could not afford a lot of stuff back then we focused on a school that did not force us to buy textbooks. Textbooks were something we despised buying ever since I remember myself because they were crazy expensive based on the salaries everyone got back then. It was hard to re-sell them later or find second-hand ones for your next year. The school was absolutely meh and I didn’t care about any of my classmates. Most of them were skipping class anyway and they were terrible classmates whatsoever. I also didn’t like the other classes either. Did not really make any friends, except 1, with whom I have no contact as of now.

This year is also a few months after I started taking drawing seriously :) I joined deviantart and posted lots of art I referenced from official artworks of anime. It’s also the year I started watching anime and got hooked. Found lots of people with similar interests and made friends, sadly, most of them went missing without notice after a while

Got to meet, Dakota! (who is now called bro on any occasion :D ) Someone who I never thought would help me through the years so much. And also the first online friend to actually stay

2015 (age 19-20)

ahh...2015, huh. I don’t really need to recall a lot of the things that happened back then. I finished school in 2014 and started a job a few months later. Not going to school gave me the notice of knowing that I, in fact, have no friends. My so-called “best friend” back then kept giving me excuses not to meet up and/or breaking promises on meeting or whatsoever. That made me extremely self-conscious about not being valued and resulting in me distancing myself from people a lot more after that. For the sake of myself, I stopped contacting said friend as time went by.

Going to work for the first time in my life, it felt weird. Me and my brother applied for the same job and both got accepted , but we got separeted in different departments and different shifts. This made me spend less time with him and it kind of made us drift apart.

During that year I spent more and more time of figuring myself out. I started spending more and more time locked up inside and drawing all day. I did nothing else besides that. Because of this, I felt myself gain weight. Also managed to kind-of figure out my sexuality based on an experience I had back in 2013. I started making small work out schedules and also fell in love with basketball! Keeping up those small routines made me get back on track again and start to feel alive a bit. Also met a lot of new people when I was at the court.

At the end of the year is when my life with braces began. I had so much trouble and pains in the beginning. Could hardly eat anything without hurting or feeling the need to cry. My depression has also started developing by that year due to the loss of human contact with my peers and loneliness. Cried very often. Suicidal thoughts appeared every so often, and have not disappeared to this day. Family did not care much about what I’m going through at that time to deal with the braces, except for my mom. Which always kept in consideration what I can and/or cannot eat. Especially after my check-ups which always resulted in tooth pain for at least a week.

Also my hairstyle didn’t change until the beginning of 2016 when I went with “oh, fuck this long hair!”

2020 (age 24-25)

Finally, after 4 years and 3 months of struggling, I got my braces taken off! Life without braces feel so much better and I’m much more carefree! And I kept the short hair! It has also helped me feel so much better about my overall looks.

I’m also currently having family problems that I’m struggling with. Lost more and more contact with a lot of my “family members”. Made friends at work but why do people always give up on me after 1 or 2 years. I’m so tired of this. Cut contact with them since I’m tired of fighting for someone’s attention that they’re apparently not willing to give me.

Even among the corona virus outbreak, this year has been by far, the best one I’ve ever had.

I started playing kendama by the end of 2019. This little wood toy made me meet and converse with a lot of new people of all ages about a small interest that unexpectedly turned into a huge passion in just a few months time.

Having a great time and lots of fun working on my coordination and skills and breaking a sweat while doing it. This game has also brought me a lot of joy as I always entered competitions (even if my level of play was low). I lost most of them, some I won, and they all brought me joy no matter the end result. Also got some opportunities to do art related stuff :)

Still irl friendless and lonely, but kendama has helped me get over this a lot more easier than before. Trying to enjoy life as much as I can, even in my loneliness.

Spend 50/50 of my time deciding whether I should art or play kendama but that aside, I have felt my progress towards art grow bigger than it was before.

And lastly, but not on last place: My friend, Dakota! My bro, that I met back in 2010 on deviantart, now one of my most important and precious people, is still around and bringing endless joy and happiness into my life without which I would not have survived. I know he’s not ever gonna see this because he no longer has a tumblr, but, thanks bro, you’re the best!! <3

Also thanks to all the tumblr friends I’ve made since 2017 (and after that)!! You have also been an absolute pillar of good words and endless encouragement that has pushed me on living and giving the middle finger to depression.

I decided to join an art contest in the Genshin Impact server that I’m part of. The art contest had two themes “Goodbye Sumeru” or “Welcome to Fontaine” which you could pick either one. I decided to go with the “Goodbye Sumeru” theme. To put it simply, I did extremely poorly in the contest. Despite that, I hope other people who will see this artwork, will appreciate this because making this artwork wasn’t that simple.

More of my thoughts/things about this artwork under the cut.

I rarely do large pieces like these, especially when I’m busy. July-August are often a very busy months for me because most of my friends/loved ones have special days and I usually draw them gift artworks. I also had a lot of real-life things going on, so thinking back to everything…joining the art contest was basically a gamble, what came to timewise. I had to do a lot of research when drawing this picture, and looked at several reference photos of the characters their clothes, and such. Also, I had to wrack my brain when I shaded the whole pic because it has been a while since I have done black and white artwork. Despite that, it was very fun shading it.

Anyway, I picked the theme “Goodbye Sumeru”, because instantly when I read that theme name, I had this image of a traveler (in this case Lumine) and Paimon waving from the distance to Tighnari and Collei at the Gandharva Ville. It started with them at the Sumeru, so I thought it would only be suitable for our heroine and her best companion to wave goodbye to them! Of course, I had to Nahida in the picture, because she was such a big part of Sumeru as a whole. I also instantly imagined her ‘hovering’ on top of Lumine and Paimon as if blessing their journey to Fontaine. This all created the centerpiece.

Once I was done with the centerpiece, I started to think about all the other friends the traveler and Paimon had met along their journey at Sumeru. Originally the picture was supposed to have two additional friends at the sides of the centerpiece, but because of time issues and the lack of space (this drawing is drawn on A4-size paper, which in the end isn’t that big), I settled to ones that appeared most at the Archon quest/I felt played key roles in the story/balancing reasons.

The first additional friend that I wanted to draw was Dunyarzad at the bottom left side. She played quite an important role in the main story quests, so choosing her felt very natural. But what would Dunyarzad be without Dehya who acted as her bodyguard? She became an important ally along the journey. For balance, I started to think of all male characters who appeared in the main quests and played important roles. I figured if I had Dehya who was from the desert, Cyno could be a good counterpart. Not to mention he was quite impactful in the story -at least in my mind. Alhaitham played a big role in the quests and represented in a way opposite of things, so I settled for him. I also considered Kaveh, but because he played such a small role, I scrapped him quickly away. Same with Wanderer, even though at the end of Sumeru's main quests he played quite a big role. Because of that, Nilou also scrapped away very quickly as I felt she didn’t have any ‘good’ counterpart.

Originally, I had also planned to all Layla and Jeth into the picture, because they would have represented the side quests and all other ‘memorable’ (at least to me) moments outside of the main quests. But as I stated earlier, they got scrapped away, mostly because of space issues.

All in all, making this artwork was an interesting experience. There are a few things I would have done differently, if I would had more time, but despite those things, I’m still quite satisfied with the ending result.

Ever since I saw that umbrella scene with Senjumaru in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc anime, I just knew I had to draw her. She has easily become one of my favorite Bleach characters during the course of TYBW anime.

Because of that exact reason, I struggled greatly with painting this. I had to literally redo this artwork a few times because I kept failing to capture Senjumaru’s mysterious and enchanting aura. But like they say…third time is the charm. Even then, I struggled with a few parts and details in this artwork…(I hope those problematic parts aren’t too obvious.) So, the fact I managed to finish this artwork in the end, made me feel very happy. What do you think about this illustration? Did I manage to bring justice to Senjumaru?

My scanner really hates pink and its shades. It usually eats those (and makes the picture overexposed) and when I try to darken the picture...well, the ending result is always a bit interesting. I've tried to change the settings, but nothing helps...so yeah. 😅 Hopefully, people will still like this pic.

A few years ago MadaTobi week was approaching, so @louiserandom and I decided to do a collab for the week. I can't anymore remember the prompt that we based on our whole collab. I think it was domestic bliss or cuddling or something along the lines. But based on that prompt, we decided they would write a fic and I would draw a picture based on the fic. We made the whole outline of the fic and had actually a lot of fun when brainstorming for our collab.

I started my part of the collab, which was the artwork, but when I was middle of coloring the artwork, my drawing tablet broke down. The worst part was that there were only a few days left before the deadline. Luckily, I had originally made the sketch traditionally and even inked it, so all I had to do was color it traditionally and my part would be ready. Expect, the coloring turned awful and by that point, @louiserandom had already told me they couldn't complete their part of the collab, as they just didn't find the inspiration to write. In the end, I decided not to publish my artwork during that MadaTobi week, because I was very bummed out over how the artwork had turned out.

Even when I got a new drawing tablet, I still didn't feel like finishing my unfinished digital coloring of the artwork. Yet I still kept the artwork and over the years I started little by little coloring it, until I eventually finished it. I took my sweet time with it because there wasn't any more rush and I wanted to practice my digital coloring and using texture. Now the artwork is done, even though there are still parts that could be tinkered and sort of. Even so, I think it's time to finally publish this artwork to the world. It took a long time to complete it, but I'm still very proud of it and the fun memories related to it. ^^

The image is from Bleach chapter 598, where Orihime talks about Ishida-kun... I originally made/colored this image when it came in the manga, but only now decided to post it here when the latest episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Separation came out.

Cure Peace's close up look! (I only used four colors when making this.)

So, this show came on TV here and I watched it...I kind of disliked the fact the dubbers in here apparently got super lazy/or thought you can't have English magical girl names (nor Japanese) with the show's heroines (despite the fact all the attacks they use are still spoken in English), so here her name is 'Glitter Yellow'. Like god, creative much? Dx

Byakuya getting hugged by his daughter Ayumi. I imagine Byakuya would be a very doting father and his daughter would just be sweet. ^^

I tried to draw a shoujo background behind Ayumi for the sake of the sweet moment and otherwise draw a relaxed atmosphere. Hopefully, their love for each other can be seen in this pic.
