It was my 17th birthday 8 days ago and one of my gifts from my dear brother, whom I love very much, was this wonderful, cork-covered sketchbook. They saw me eyeing it in the store a few days before buying it for me, it was a very thoughtful gift. Therefore, it seemed befitting to start a unique and beautiful opening page the next day. So, I came up with this lovely little composition, including strawberries, poppies, pansies, stars and much more. These little representaties of stars have weaved their way into nearly every page of any notebook or sketchbook I've touched. There's just something about drawing silly little celestial bodies that I love.

I started this off with a big self portrait based on a photo of myself I really like, I cut my nails recently though, to start up the guitar and piano again. On the top of the right page I drew my friends and I in swimwear; I'm hoping we'll all have time to visit the lakes in our neighbourhoods this year. Then there's a drawing of Ouroboros which is very special to me, and a dreamy little me in the corner. All in all, I am extremely pleased with this piece (despite my quick fix of a tired-minded spelling error in "sketchbook"). I am especially fond of the medieval reminiscent lettering of my name and of "friendship". I hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. Have a good day and stay safe y'all! <333

Here are some of my daily Sept 2022 sketchbook pages plus an update. This update is a bit late and a bit short. Although I've kept up with drawing practice a lot of the Sept pages were logo mockups and studies for projects I'm not ready to show yet. That just left mostly a bunch of my tests, seeing how to add more illustrations to my abstract art vaporwave-esque series. (and no I didn't actually draw it on lined notebook paper, but it was fun to edit in for this post)

Now for a personal update:

As of the time of writing this (Mid-Nov) my Dad's had about a half dozen surgeries within the last month. They seem to have found the root problem this time at least but I haven't been able to do much art. I had a lot of plans to do these last few months of 2022 and I had to delay everything. The only reason I've still kept up with my posting schedule is that in Aug/Sept I built a 6 month stockpile of art. I'll try to reply to my DMs eventually but I'm still ignoring them. I've turned down all commission and project requests since the spring and will keep doing so until next year at least (and even then, this last year has made clear to me that I'd prefer to focus on my own projects)

Elsamaren

Elsa is designed after the first concept artworks made of her, the one with a big Snowflake headpiece and white coat. And Maren will be more Sami inspired.

Aug 2022 Sketchbook pages.

There isn't too much here in terms of focused studies, just me trying a few things like figuring out how to elevate the abstract vaporwave series and searching for a great waves style I feel is good enough to use for merch (it feels almost there, not quite though).

Personal Update: Life is mostly normal again, which means I've been rushing to catch up things and to try to get ahead, incase things go bad again. Usually I like to have a 2 month stockpile of art to post, but to be safe this time I went overboard and made a 6 month stockpile which is 72 posts. After a bit of a break I hope to finally start focusing on illustrations more.
