Batfam Alphabet: V - Valentine’s Day

Summary: Finding himself bored on Valentine’s Day evening, and no it’s not because he’s single, Jason ends up dragging Damian along with him to go and spy on their brother’s date to see how it’s going.

When the front door slams shut with a loud bang Jason shakes his head in disbelief. For the last three hours both Dick and Tim had been running around like headless chickens as they each got ready for their dates that night. After trying on several different outfits and scrambling around the house trying to find their wallets and phones the two of them ended up practically sprinting out the front door claiming, ‘they’ll be late for their dates if they don’t leave right now.’

Once they’re gone the place settles into silence Jason sighs and mutters to himself, “Valentine’s Day is such a stupid holiday. Why is it even a thing?”

Jason most certainly doesn’t jump when a voice speaks up commenting on his muttering.

“You’re just saying that cause you’re single.”

Jason glances over and sees Damian sat crossed legged on a love seat with his sketchbook on his lap, the kid isn’t even looking at him as he’s focused on his drawing instead.

In amusement Jason snorts. “This may surprise you but so are you brat.”

“I’m 12 what’s your point?”

“People date at your age.”

Damian finally looks up and sends him an unimpressed look. “Tt, I have no interest in such things. there are far more important things to be doing than… that.”

“Sure, sure.” Jason says rolling his eyes.

“It must hurt that Harper clearly has something better to do tonight than hang around with you.”

Jason straightens up and narrows his eyes at the kid for the unnecessary comment. “I have no idea what you’re implying brat, but yes actually, he does. He’s busy being a date with Lian to her school dance and then he’s taking her out for ice cream afterwards.” It was a cute thought, even cuter because Roy sent him a picture of Lian all dolled up in her fluffy purple dress with matching sparkling shoes.

Damian doesn’t seem bothered by his explanation. The kid shrugs and continues drawing. “And yet you’re still here badgering me. It’s like you have nothing better to do with your time Todd.”

“Okay that’s rude and for starters I was here first.” Jason points out. The kid is probably looking for a fight but Jason isn’t taking the bait.

When Damian doesn’t respond to him Jason thinks it’s probably for the best. It’s either hit or miss with the two of them. They either get along well, as they can often relate to one another’s experiences regarding their time in the League of Assassins, but at other times they’re like oil and water, they just don’t mix and the tiniest spark will set them off.

The two of them sit in silence, Jason with his book and Damian with his sketch book, the only sounds being from when Jason turns the page and the constant gentle scratch of pencil against paper. After reading several more pages Jason finds himself bored, not even the great words of Jane Austen is helping to distract his mind that evening.

After a moment of pondering Jason turns to Damian again, watching the kid for a second before he speaks up. “Fancy going and spying on their dates?”

The pencil continues gliding across the page and when Damian doesn’t answer for several beats Jason begins to think that perhaps Damian didn’t either hear him or he’s ignoring him. Before he could ask the question again, and yes Jason is that desperate to do something that evening that he's asking his youngest brother to go and spy on their other brothers while on their dates, Damian looks up and the pencil stops moving.

“Grayson or Drake?”

“I was thinking Tim.” Jason answers, having already thought about it. “He's more awkward and his relationship is newer, he’d be more entertaining to spy on than Dick because he and Babs have been together for years and no longer have that awkwardness to their relationship anymore.”

Damian shuts his sketch book and stands up. “Very well. We’ll leave in 10.” Then with that the kid walks out of room leaving a blinking Jason to wonder what just happened.

Almost half an hour later, Jason finds himself sat next to Damian on a rooftop opposite a restaurant where Tim and his boyfriend are current having a late dinner together for Valentine’s Day. The restaurant is filled with couples on their dates all doing the same thing.

Jason rolls his eyes at the concept. Seriously, what is it about Valentine’s Day? It’s so commercialised, overrated and just tends to make people feel either pressured to do something for or with their partner because of the day or those who are single feel shit about themselves because they’re not in a relationship.

Jason isn’t bitter about the holiday because he’s single, he couldn’t give a damn about it, but his points stands. If he remembers rightly, when Valentine’s hit when he had been living on the streets the amount of either half empty or even full boxes of chocolates he used to find made it worth it, it was one of the only times a year he would get to taste something sweet.

“This is pathetic.”

It’s great to know he’s not the only one who despises the holiday. Jason glances at Damian, who’s to his right, and shrugs. “Are you talking about us or them.”

Damian scoffs. “Both?”

Jason nods accepting the answer because it’s true.

Jason glances at the restaurant again and just about spots Tim with his date. They’re sat opposite one another on a small square table, a little to the side of the window. They currently don’t have food in front of them but they do have drinks and Tim is constantly fiddling with the glass and is often taking sips from it. Jason snickers, the fiddling is Tim’s tell tale of his nervousness. The kid is a vigilante, skilful in various of martial arts styles and is a boy genius and yet he’s nervous on a date. How cute.

His date leaves the table, Jason is going to assume he’s going toilet, and Tim continues with his fiddling despite being alone. Tim wipes his hands on his trousers and his leg starts to bounce up and down repeatedly in another sign of nervousness.

“We could literally be doing anything else right now Todd and yet we’re sat here.” Damian scowls from his seated position next to him.

“Hey, you agreed to come along baby bat. You didn’t have to.” Jason points out. “Anyway we won’t be here all night. I just want to see how things are going then we can be off, we may as well patrol while we’re out here.”

They’re dressed in their suits of course. After deciding to go via rooftops, being dressed as their personas made more sense.

Jason’s attention is soon drawn away from Tim when the door of the restaurant bursts open and a petite woman storms out. There’s a guy right behind her who stumbles when the door hits him but he quickly recovers and chases after the woman who’s started to storm down the street.

Jason whistles quietly. “Oh drama…”

He’s too far away to hear what’s being said but as soon as the guy catches up to the girl there’s shouting going on. It was clear the woman was furious at the man and it’s obvious he’s trying to apologise for whatever happened. She isn’t listening to him though, she’s stubbornly shaking her head and slapping his hands away every time he tries to touch her.

The two of them have drawn in quite the crowd. People passing them on the street are watching with either interested or fed up looks, those in the restaurant are watching the scene unfold from their seats through the window and are clearly talking about what’s going on.

In the end the woman’s clearly had enough, she shoves the man backwards and storms away. Dejected, the man watches after her, his form slumping forwards and in on itself. Apparently deciding to not go after her a second time he turns on the spot and heads back inside the restaurant.

“That’s rough.” Jason comments. He glances at Damian who looks bored and like he would rather be anywhere but here right now. “See, that’s why I stay single. No drama happens when you’re single.”

“Noted Todd. Not that anyone would date you anyway.”

Damian deserves the shove Jason gives him. The little brat’s full of sass tonight. Is Damian taking it out on Jason because Tim isn’t there to take the brunt of it? He doesn’t know but speaking of the third Robin, Jason turns back to him to find his date’s returned and they seemed engrossed in a conversation, Tim's still fiddling but it seems to have eased down than moments before. The date must be going well then, at least it looks like it is.

Sighing he stands up and stretches his muscles. “C’mon kid, lets go. There’s not much else to see here, though I’m glad we saw some drama, at least it made the trip worth it.”

“How you to find pleasure in others misfortune.” Damian remarks, now also standing up.

Jason rolls his eyes. “It isn’t like that, and also I’m not the only one to comment on drama happening y’know.”

“Whatever Todd. I’ll leave you to your weird fetishes.” Jason blinks at Damian, thrown off guard by his continuous comments of the night. It turns out Damian wasn’t waiting for an answer anyway as the kid continues talking. “Now let’s go. We can still patrol a decent amount instead of sitting here wasting our time.”

Shaking his head Jason gestures for Damian to go ahead and take lead. As the kid disappears Jason glances at the restaurant one more time, Tim’s still yapping away which is good to see, however he spots the same man from the argument earlier walk out of the doors of the restaurant this time alone and with his head hung low.

He’s going home single tonight then Jason muses to himself. Whatever happened between him and that woman will sort itself out, whether they make up in the end or split apart he’ll never know but it certainly makes him wonder.

After a moment he shakes his head and clears his mind, Damian’s gone now and he needs to catch up with him.

Ah, seems like weird semantic error shippers are currently working on ruining all future chances for a season 2 by having zero respect for seoham's privacy and harassing his friends because apparently they think this 30 year old grown up man is only allowed one friend.

This reminds me of SamYu and many other FICTIONAL couple actors. I'm actually happy now that the Park Parks are not doing PR together.

Sorry for using your inbox to vent. You obviously don't have to answer. But UGH!

Delulu stans are going to be everywhere, badgering everyone. Toxic people respect no boundaries. Who even has the time to go and find his friend's IGs to harass them about something like this. I will say that I'm happy that Jaechan has gained some popularity and therefore his group has as well, but I hate that people are reading too much into his and Seoham's relationship.

It's wild because Mile Phakphum (one of the leads from KinnPorsche) is dealing with some toxic stan behavior too, people are attacking him and refusing to support the series because there was a video circulating of that grown ass 30 yr old man holding a woman's hand. Saying that he's "cheating on Apo" He felt like he had to issue an apology for having a personal and private life but I think the company released a statement saying that he didn’t need to apologize and that their actors privacy should be protected and respected.

Same thing for SamYu. I think Sam had a girlfriend or was dating a woman at the time of filming and people just badgered and bullied him to talk more about her and who she was and he was like "Mind your own business and be a fan."

I think when TharnType was being filmed Gulf had a model girlfriend that was openly showing support for the series and TT stans bullied them both until they broke up because he's supposed to be with Mew. People are still harassing them because they haven't been seen together since TTs2 ended.

The toxic behavior is unfortunately part of the package celebrities sign up for when they gain popularity. I think that’s part of why BL actor pairings last so long, to keep the popularity growing and to continue to land roles. Some trifling stans don’t want to see one actor without the other. It honestly keeps some actors from getting work.

I just try to do my part and support the actors I like and mind my own business and I just wish more people respected these people enough to do the same. These actors don’t owe us shit but some good content on screen. They don’t have to let us into their personal lives if they don’t want to. I think their private lives should be kept private. Their friends and families shouldn’t be getting contacted by delusional toxic stans asking if the actor likes boys or not. It’s unacceptable.

The Enchanted Stone

pairing: tts!Jimin x f. reader

warnings: gorgon!jimin, vampire!koo, elemental!reader, warlock!hoseok, potions (potion drinking), spells, mention of blood/blood drinking (koo)

Jimin had made plans with Jungkook, mostly to throw you off his scent but also because he didn't mind hanging out with the vampire every now and again. It's not like the gorgon's blood appealed to him, anyway. However, he had to go through the trouble of putting his snakes to sleep because of the last time they hung out and Raythe had tried to take a bite of Jungkook's ear. Jimin's not sure what Jungkook expected after teasing his snakes endlessly.

"Are they asleep?" Jungkook asks before he gets in Jimin's car. Rolling his eyes, Jimin hits the button on the door to get the window down.

"They're asleep, you big baby. Come on, we have like an hour before Y/N calls. She doesn't like when we hang out without her." Jimin reminds him and Jungkook huffs as he gets in the car, pulling at the seat belt.

"One time I get us chased by an ogre and his pals, and I'm suddenly a bad influence," Jungkook scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Jungkook, they tossed you around like a rag doll and only stopped when she froze them," Jimin laughs, shaking his head at the memory. Thawing ogres was a lot easier than turning them to stone, and Jimin was the one who had sacrificed Jungkook to the ogres since it had been his fault they got into the mess.

"Where are we going, anyway?" Jungkook asks as he looks out the window.

"There's this one store I need to check out. Hoseok left an enchanted stone there for me and I need to inspect it before I do anything else," Jimin explains, hoping he's being coy. He had turned his location off to keep you from spoiling the surprise, and he had made Jungkook do the same. This only added to your worries, knowing Jungkook had a tendency to piss lots of creatures off. It was his specialty, unfortunately.

"A stone?" Jungkook's eyes light up, already plotting. "What's it do?"

"Nothing you need to worry about," Jimin hums as he turns on the radio, hoping Jungkook doesn't change the station again to the Sirens. That was another nightmare Jimin had barely escaped.

Jungkook continues to badger Jimin about their plans, hoping that he'll at least get a blood-rose shake at the end of this outing. He'd been promised a meal, and a meal he shall have!

"Don't touch anything!" Jimin hisses, pushing his sunglasses up his nose to make sure he won't accidentally hurt anyone.

"Okay, mom!" Jungkook rolls his eyes, opening the door.

"I'm serious! I'll make you into a statue!" Jungkook nods, saluting Jimin as he puts his hands in his pants pockets to keep the temptation at bay.

"Mr. Park! Good to see you! Hoseok dropped by earlier and we've got your stone ready and polished for you. It's enchanted and Hoseok has left a vial with detailed instructions on how to proceed, but we have a warlock on hand. Should you need help. I am told it is a very simple spell." The owner of the store says, shaking Jimin's hand.

"Perfect! Thank you," Jimin smiles as he's led to a glass case containing engagement ring settings.

"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Jungkook hollers as he jumps up and down. "You're proposing?"

Jimin smiles bashfully, his cheeks turning pink when he looks at his friend. "Yes."

"And I'm here to help pick the ring?" Jungkook's filled with excitement, already picturing the extravagant wedding day. It'll be so wonderful!

"I had Hoseok enchant this stone." Jimin points to the beautiful onyx gem that will sit on your finger for the rest of your life. He grins. He couldn't wait.

"We've selected a few ring settings based on your preferences. The stone will fit perfectly in any of these but we can always do custom pieces." the owner informs Jimin, who nods, suddenly overwhelmed by all the choices.

Jungkook leans over him, placing his chin on his shoulder.

"What do you think of the second from the right?" Jimin asks Jungkook.

"It's pretty," Jungkook agrees as the owner takes it out. He hands it to Jimin, and he slips it onto his finger. It's beautiful and his heart thumps loudly against his chest when he imagines you wearing it. Would you like it? He was nervous. He knew you'd love whatever he picked out, but what if you hated it? What if you said no to marrying him because the ring is ugly?

"Can you excuse us?" Jungkook asks the owner, who nods and takes his leave. Once the two men are alone, Jungkook places his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Look at me," Jungkook demands, and Jimin does as he's told. "She will love anything you choose. You know her, she's not the type to reject you over not liking the ring. They're all gorgeous, Jimin. They will all look beautiful on her finger, and there's no way she will say no, even if for some reason she doesn't like the setting. She loves you. She's always loved you. Anyone can see that. Hell, you could propose without the ring and she'd still say yes."

Jimin smiles. You really would.

"Okay, okay. I can do this." Jimin hypes himself up as he turns back to the settings. Trying a few of them on before going back to the first. The owner comes back, eager to help Jimin with whatever he needs, and once he chooses a setting, the owner hands Jimin the stone.

"Here are the instructions," the owner says, handing over a piece of paper and the vial. "Drink the potion and think of 5 memories you'd like enchanted into the ring. When your beloved thinks of you, the memories will come to life in the stone."

"Sounds simple enough," Jimin nods, reading through the instructions before picking his memories. The first had to be when you'd just been babies and met for the first time. Hoseok made that memory possible, bringing it forward in Jimin's mind with a sour-tasting spell that turned his tongue purple. The second memory is of Jimin holding your hand when you took your first steps. The third is your first kiss. The fourth is the first time you both blurted out "I love you" with a cloud over your head spurting out snowflakes to cover the both of you, so overwhelmed with love for your boyfriend. And the last memory is rather recent. It is the night he was able to gaze into your eyes for the first time without his sunglasses as an adult. That had been a magical night he held near and dear to his heart, and he had to include it in your engagement ring.

Once he's done, the owner takes the ring and promises to call within a few days. Jimin's excited to see it complete, and excitement bubbles in his stomach. He'd be proposing soon.

"Come on, man. You owe me a shake." Jungkook says, thanking the owner as he drags Jimin out of the store and to his car.

When you arrive at the diner, Jungkook plops down in the seat in front of him. Jimin's finally turned his location back on, replying to his missed messages, and your call comes through.

Jimin answers without hesitation, grinning when your face appears on the screen.

"How's it going? Do I need to save you two from something?" You ask with worry in your tone.

"It was one time," Jungkook pouts.

"It was several times and that dragon still comes around looking for you," you sigh, shaking your head.

"I was just thinking about you," Jimin says, turning your attention back to him. Your heart flutters in your chest from his words, a shy smile on your lips.

"You were thinking about me?" you ask in a soft voice.

"I'm always thinking of you," Jimin grins, ignoring the kick Jungkook gives him under the table.

"I'm always thinking of you, too," you smile, your fingers moving to grip the locket with Jimin's picture nestled inside it.

"I think you'll be thinking of him a lot more," Jungkook says with a giggle, cursing when Jimin kicks him under the table.

"What?" you're confused by his words but Jimin waves him off.

"He's just being Jungkook. Half the stuff he says makes little sense."

"Yeah, you're right," you giggle. Jungkook gasps, offended, but that's all forgotten when the waiter comes to take their order.

"I'll let you two go," you say your goodbyes, blowing Jimin a kiss that makes his cheeks turn pink. Jungkook coos at Jimin, ignoring him when he glares and ordering a round of milkshakes to celebrate his coming engagement.
