Howdy, everyone! Today I have my story for the @ashidobigbang! I had the privilege of working with the wonderful @mallowfac, so be sure to go give her beautiful art some love!
The picturesque campus of U.A. High School was always abuzz with activity, even after the final bells rang to mark the end of the school day. As expected of the number-one high school in the district, the institution hosted a vast number of after-school sports and clubs, so much that it was almost unheard of for a student to be uninvolved in anything. Thus, even as the sun had sunk low across the sky, the halls were still packed with many students fervently discussing events and fundraising and planning, walking to and from their classrooms.
The exterior of the school was no exception; one would be hard pressed to find an empty sidewalk or field—except for today, when the American football team would be taking on the baseball team in an impromptu flag football game to determine once and for all the title of best sport. The halls and sidewalks and fields were abandoned, for the entire student body had crammed themselves within the confines of the spacious practice field nestled in the back corner of the campus. The baseball team had asserted that football was so easy that even they could do it, and the school had become divided on whether or not that was true.
“Kick their asses, Eijirou!” a particularly loud fan crowed from the top of the bleachers. He was standing tall, hands cupped around his mouth and stamping his feet as he cheered for the school’s idol and star quarterback. The bleachers sang with chants and stomps, trying desperately to smother the boos drifting from the opposite end of the field, where the baseball team’s supporters sat. Eijirou Kirishima, his grin blinding and his red hair gleaming in the spring sun, laughed nervously as praise was rained down upon him.
As Mina zeroed in on him in the lens of her binoculars, she knew she’d found her latest victim— er, recruit.
Mina Ashido was the president—and only member—of U.A.’s astronomy club. Well, it wasn’t technically a club yet since they needed two members for the administration to approve the application. An avid admirer of all things cosmological and an aspiring astronomer, Mina refused to allow her pride and joy to collapse before it had even begun. Thus, for the last few months, she’d been concocting hare-brained scheme after hare-brained scheme to recruit at least one more member and officially christen the U.A. Guild of Astronomers and Astrophysicists. All of her efforts, unfortunately, had crashed and burned brighter than a supernova.
At first, she’d just camped out in the hallways and leisure areas pitching her case and attempting to garner interest in the subject, but she’d been met with polite refusals or awkward avoidance. With so many extracurriculars available, sometimes drastic measures had to be taken to garner interest in a club— the Shakespearean drama club, for example, had performed Macbeth completely backwards in the courtyard, and their numbers had swelled immediately. Mina had cooked up a dramatic scheme of her own, which involved her running around the school screaming about a falling star and the end times. After inciting a mass school panic that led to a lockdown and police involvement, all Mina had managed to acquire was a fierce scolding, detention, and the label as a kook—not even one person expressed interest in joining her club even for the shits and giggles! No, it was clear that the inner workings of her mind were too sophisticated for humble high school students and staff, so she would have to try a more nuanced approach—manipulating the most vital high school variable: popularity.
Her first target had been gorgeous cheerleader and school sweetheart, Momo Yaoyorozu. Despite the stereotype that popular girls were great big bitches, Momo had been nothing but polite when refusing Mina, since her rigorous practice schedule would unfortunately not allow her to devote the time to the club it deserved (but they did regularly meet up for Sunday tea now!). The next one to fall into her crosshairs was the school heartthrob Shoto Todoroki. He’d entertained her for an afternoon, but he destroyed one of her very expensive telescopes while attempting a night viewing and she’d politely informed him that perhaps he wasn’t cut out for it. He didn’t seem too sad about it, though he did occasionally ask her how the recruiting was going when they met in the halls. Very sweet guy, but bless him, he was an airhead.
Thus, Mina had moved on to her next opportunity—the pride and joy of U.A.’s sports program, star American football player Eijirou Kirishima. Incredibly handsome, charismatic, and kind-hearted, Eijirou was beloved by everyone at U.A. If Mina managed to recruit him to her humble club, half the student body would be clamoring to join before it was printed in the school news the next day.
She snickered to herself as she watched him through her binoculars, hiding in the thick, leafy bushes lining the backside of the sports complex. Her cotton candy-colored hair blended well with the hydrangeas blooming amidst the emerald leaves, camouflaging her as she conducted her vital research. The redhead strode across the field with confidence, yet his sunny smile made him seem anything but arrogant. Though she couldn’t hear him, she could see his lips moving as he relayed orders to his team while they set up the play. The players seamlessly fell into an offensive stance, a testament to the faith they held in their captain—and how seriously he took their practice and performance.
A deep and bassy “huuuuup!” resounded through the field, and then the player hiked the ball. With a speed much at odds with his muscular frame, Eijirou took off down the field. Mina admittedly salivated a little as she watched his muscles ripple, his gray muscle tank displaying his biceps and triceps in mouthwatering detail. She could see the sweat shining on his skin and flicking from his hair as he whipped his head around to eye the ball that was sailing through the air toward him. The baseball team’s defense could only watch in awe as Eijirou leaped into the air over the endzone. The ball landed in his arms like it belonged there, his grip smug and sure as he landed in the touchdown zone. The supporting crowd erupted into deafening cheers, while Eijirou just smiled bashfully and gave a little wave.
Mina lowered her binoculars to compose herself, a blush dusting her cheeks. So effortless… And the crowd loves it! she thought in awe. No matter what, I have to get him to join the Astronomy Club! She snapped the binoculars back to her eyes, watching intensely. She really didn’t need to watch the entire game, but… damn, that was a mouthwatering piece of man. She had to find some way to entertain herself while she waited for the game to end and her chance to corner him to finally present itself.
Needless to say, the football team absolutely demolished the baseball team. The rival players marched back to their diamond in defeat along with their gaggle of supporters, while the crowd flooded the practice field to heft a very bemused but giddy Eijirou on their shoulders with chants of his name. They dunked the container of water over his head as soon as his feet touched the grass again, making him laugh jovially. Mina’s heart fluttered at the sound; his laugh was as sunny as the rest of him, so bright she almost felt the need to close her eyes. He was just blinding, like the most intense star.
And just like with a star, Mina gravitated toward him.
Eventually, the raucous crowd dispersed and the football team started heading to the locker rooms to change out of their sweaty gym gear. They came tromping onto the sidewalk, with Eijirou trailing in the rear dripping wet and trying to wring water out of his tank. Mina almost forgot to spring out of the bushes, too occupied with the planes of his abs being revealed each time he wrung the fabric. She remembered her mission just as he passed the hydrangea bush, and leaped out in front of him with a delighted trill.
“That was a wonderful game, Eijirou!” she squealed, throwing her arms up and hiking up one leg behind her in a cute little flourish. The redhead jumped back with a small gasp, startled by her sudden appearance and the leaves and hydrangea petals clinging to her clothes and the soft fibers of her pink hair. Once he recovered, however, he gave her a charming smile that nearly had her melting into a pile of space slush.
“Oh! Thanks. Hey, you’re, uh—” he snapped his fingers quickly as he struggled to recall her, then pointed his fingers at her in a gun-like shape once it clicked, “Mina Ashido! You have homeroom with Tsuyu from the Amphibian Care club. She talks about you when she helps run the concession stand sometimes!”
“That’s right! The one and only!” she chirped, trying to suppress the surge of anger at the fact that Tsuyu could recruit for her club about pet frogs and turtles but Mina couldn’t get one single underling. Not to worry; that will all change soon!
“This might be an odd question, but, uh… is there a reason you were hiding in the bushes?” he laughed awkwardly. Mina blushed when he leaned forward to gently brush the leaves and petals from her shoulders and hair, which made her short-circuit for a second. It was only when he looked at her inquisitively that her brain jump-started again.
“O-oh! I thought it would be fun to surprise you! Yanno, like in the movies where someone jumps out of a big ol’ birthday cake!” It was a bold-faced lie, but it wasn’t like she could tell him she was spying on him through binoculars while she schemed to reel him into her club. Trying to keep him from thinking too hard about it, she placed her hands on her hips and straightened up. “I watched your practice match with the baseball team and have decided that you’ll be a perfect fit for the Astronomy Club! So please join. <3”
Eijirou blinked owlishly at her, his bright red eyes swimming with confusion. He smiled bashfully, clearly trying not to let his utter perplexity show on his face. He rubbed the back of his neck with a nervous chuckle.
“Well, um, I’m really not sure how you made that connection watching me play…”
“The inner workings of a woman’s mind are quite an enigma~” she hummed with a waggle of her finger. Eijirou only scrunched his eyebrows in confusion and jumped when she slapped her hand down on his shoulder. “Seriously! You seem like a great fit! Please consider at least trying it out for a little while?” She batted her eyelashes demurely; if nothing else, her womanly charms could entice the burly football player to at least humor her for a while.
Sure enough, a pink blush dusted across his cheeks and a bashful smile curled onto his lips.
“Well, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt checking it out… Stars are cool…”
“Fabulous!” she squealed, making Eijirou flinch again as she clapped her hands together and jumped up and down in elation. Even if Eijirou didn’t join permanently, just the rumor of his interest in her humble little club was liable to attract attention. “I know that you’re busy with football practice, so we’ll schedule club meetings on Friday afternoons when you don’t have them, okay?”
“Oh, that’s not necessary. I don’t want to inconvenience any—”
“Great! So it’s settled then! I’ll see you on Friday afternoon in Room 310!” With that, she jumped back into her bush, leaving Eijirou staring at the quivering leaves in confusion. Through the gaps in the branches, she saw him open and close his mouth like he wanted to say something, look around and then up at the sky with a pensive look, and then smile with a shrug of his shoulders. Mina clutched her binoculars to her chest as a smile bloomed on her own lips, but one of satisfaction. Surely this will work! The Astronomy Club will be booming in no time! She thought with a giddy snicker.
If nothing else, she could look at Eijirou’s absolutely dreamy body and face for a few club meetings and drive his fangirls nuts.
At the end of the week, Mina paced impatiently in front of Room 310, chewing her fingernails to nubs as her eyes darted back and forth around the hall. It had only been a few minutes since the final bell had rung and the students had scattered to attend to their Friday afternoon obligations (or lack thereof), but anxiety swirled in Mina’s belly at the complete emptiness of the halls. Has he stood me up? Was I too pushy? Is he secretly a great big jerk who is nice to people’s faces but scathingly berates them behind their back to his football teammates and they all laugh evilly at the unknowing victim’s expense?
With a dramatic sob, Mina flung herself against the classroom door and hugged it, her fingers just barely curling around the wide frame. Once again, it seemed that her recruitment plan had failed miserably, and she was still the sole member of the Astronomy Club. Was she a doomed stranded astronaut, left to traverse the stars in silence awaiting a bitter end? She sank to her knees, sliding down the door with a long squeeeeeeeeak and crying bitter tears. Stars were hella cool! Why did no one at this stupid high school appreciate them?
“Mina!”
Mina’s mood did a complete one-eighty when she heard Eijirou calling her name and his footsteps pounding around the corner. She jumped to her feet, her tears drying up instantly and her pout morphing into a giddy smile. The redhead came trotting up, a thin sheet of sweat on his forehead and an apologetic smile on his face.
“Sorry!” he panted. “I didn’t get a chance to warn you that my class is all the way on the first floor. I hope you weren’t waiting long!”
“No, no! I just got here mys— yeowch!”
She had still been hugging the door, so when she tried to turn to face him, she accidentally pulled it forward and smashed her fingers in the doorjamb. She screamed as her knucklebones crunched and the skin tore; the pain rocketing up her arm sprang tears to her eyes immediately, and she released a petulant whine as she retracted her bruised and bloody fingers from between the wooden door and concrete wall.
“Oh my gosh, are you okay, Mina?” Eijirou gasped, dropping his school bag and rushing to her side. Mina cradled her throbbing hand to her chest with little sniffles, curling away from the football player when he reached for it. He gave her an encouraging, sweet smile. “I know I look big and tough, but I promise, I can be gentle too. Let me see; you may have broken something.”
Whimpering but enticed by his soothing words and demeanor, Mina obediently allowed him to pull her hand forward to inspect her fingers. They were bruising already, big blotches of purple blooming around the torn and bloody skin. Eijirou leaned over her hand, and goosebumps sprouted on her skin as his warm breath puffed over her electrified skin and aching bones. With featherlight touches, he inspected her knuckles, prodding as gently as he could to feel for any deviations in the bone.
“I know this may hurt, but can you bend them?” he asked, looking up at her through his red bangs. Mina whimpered again, hesitant to comply for fear of the pain. However, the glitter in his vermilion eyes urged her to comply. She hesitantly bent her fingers, wincing as pain skittered up her nerves— but it didn’t hurt nearly as much as she thought it would. Eijirou smiled satisfactorily. “You crunched ‘em pretty good, but I don’t think anything is broken or fractured,” he said as he straightened up.
“Thanks… I can’t believe I did that,” she sighed, using her good hand to knock on the side of her head a few times. How embarrassing, injuring herself like that in front of him! “Well, now that all that drama is over, let’s go inside so I can tell you about the club.”
Eijirou followed her inside. While she rifled through the teacher’s desk for some bandages, he looked around at the desks, which were empty aside from a build-your-own-telescope kit, Mina’s completed telescope, and astronomical charts and textbooks. As Mina wrapped bandages around her fingers, he looked at her with knitted eyebrows.
“There’s no one else here yet?”
“There’s no one else to be here,” she replied with a shrug and a wan smile. “I’m the club’s only member.” When Eijirou’s eyebrows shot up to the roots of his hair, she sadly added, “If that information makes you want to leave, go ahead and do so,” she said with a wave at the door. She then looked down at the adhesive wrapped around her knuckles. “You wouldn’t be the first.”
“No, I don’t want to leave,” Eijirou said quickly. He marched up to the front of the desk, leaning against it. Mina didn’t know what to look at—his flexing muscles or his bright smile. He tilted his head slightly as he smiled charmingly at her, then said, “Tell me about your club, Mina. I want to know everything.”
Oh God, he’s hot! Mina screamed inside her head, her good hand flying to her rapidly-beating heart. It took everything within her not to absolutely swoon at the complete sweetheart of a man gracing her with his presence this Friday afternoon. Her eyes watered a little in gratitude, or maybe it was the sheer emotion at being witness to such a wonderful human being’s kindness.
Thus, Mina did as he asked. She first instructed Eijirou how to build the telescope that he would use on nights they did observations; he bungled through it a little, but remained patient and tried his best to follow the instructions. Mina had to giggle at the absolutely triumphant grin that plastered his face when he successfully assembled the telescope; he held it up over his head and pranced around—nearly giving them both a panic attack when he bumped into a desk and nearly dropped the telescope on the ground. Mina didn’t think she could handle a Shoto 2.0.
After assembling the telescope, she started him off with easy information—constellations. She unrolled her star map which had all the constellations displayed by season, explaining specifically which ones they could see at the moment. Eijirou was very excited to see them in person, so they arranged a meeting for the following week. True to form, he showed up that Friday night with his telescope and all his zeal, his smile brighter than the full moon hanging high in the sky.
“It’s hard to believe that people stared at the sky thousands of years ago and traced shapes out of ‘em!” he exclaimed as he plonked his telescope down to the ground. “And made up all these stories to go with ‘em. And all the stories and constellations are different based on what civilization was lookin’ at ‘em!”
“The stars have always been fascinating,” Mina hummed, gently setting up her telescope and adjusting the lens. “Sometimes I like to find my own constellations and make up stories about them.”
“Really? Tell me one!”
“Well, my favorite is the Alien Queen!”
“The Alien Queen?” Eijirou laughed, making Mina flush shyly. “Show me!” Not waiting for an answer, he shouldered in next to her telescope and peered into it. She flushed darker as his sturdy shoulder dug into the meat of her side, warmth blooming across her skin. With slightly trembling hands, she moved the telescope to the right section of the sky.
“Do you see that big, bright shiny star right there?” she asked, waiting until Eijirou confirmed. “Well, that’s the tip of the back of her head. If you follow them like this—” she gestated in front of the lens, tracing the star pattern— “it looks kinda like the alien from the horror movie!”
“Leave it to Mina Ashido to find the Xenomorph constellation,” Eijirou snickered, straightening up to smile at her in amusement. “No wonder you’re the club president.” Mina shyly played with the hem of her skirt, unable to control the giddy smile playing over her lips.
They spent the rest of the early evening finding the constellations and discussing the various mythologies behind each. Eijirou loved the Greek-based patterns and myths the most. Every time they pointed one out, he would flex dramatically and proclaim how much he loved the famous heroes of old—Hercules, Achilles, Odysseus, Perseus. Mina laughed at his sensational flexing and grunting each time, her giggles bouncing around the empty practice field to join the cricket song.
Monday morning, Mina was surprised to find Eijirou rushing down the hall towards her as she went to enter her classroom. His face was flushed pink and his forehead dotted with sweat, indicating that he’d sprinted all the way to her. He pin-wheeled to a stop, nearly bumping her with his broad chest, and his breath puffed in her hair as he grinned brightly down at her.
“Mina! Guess what I saw on the news this morning! The Creati comet is gonna be passing by this Wednesday, and it’ll be visible here that night!”
“Yeah, I know!” Mina cried. She’d been glued to the news program this morning as astrophysicists and space program officials discussed the once-in-a-lifetime event; it was rumored to be an absolute gorgeous comet, with a rare rosy pink-lavender tail due to its high concentrations of lithium and potassium chloride. She then blushed, warmed by the fact that Eijirou had found it so important to inform her that he’d run all the way across campus first thing in the morning.
“Yeah! We’re gonna watch it together, right?” he asked, clapping his hands on her shoulders. Mina flushed, fidgeting in place and chewing on the inside of her cheek.
“A-are you sure? I’m sure you’ll be tired after football practice.”
“Are you kidding? What kind of Astronomy Club member would I be if I didn’t see this comet?” he objected.
Mina felt her heart thrum at the statement. Does he enjoy being a member that much? She’d only recruited him as a means to an end, but was it really turning out that Eijirou liked being a member of her club? She felt her belly twist with guilt and a cold flush pulse through her body. She curled into herself a little, blood roaring in her ears and nearly drowning out what he said next.
“I know you’re planning on going to watch it, so let’s see it together, Mina!”
“Okay,” she found herself saying before she even processed it. The next two days were a similar blur of guilt and anxiety amidst preparations to view the comet Wednesday evening. All traces of excitement she would normally possess was swallowed up by the remorse poisoning her from the hard ball in the pit of her belly. She couldn’t help but obsess over the fact that she’d recruited Eijirou on false pretenses, abusing his kind heart to use his popularity for her own gain. She’d already received a flood of interest in the club once news had spread that Eijirou was seemingly an official member, but she’d evaded them with half-hearted promises that she’d contact them soon to set up a general interest meeting.
On Wednesday night she stood by the hydrangea bush, chewing on her bottom lip and tempted to hide within its emerald leaves and pink blossoms so she wouldn’t have to face Eijirou. Before she could take shelter in its branchy depths, the redhead came trotting up the sidewalk, his smile gleaming in the starlight as he called her name. His telescope flopped on his back in its canvas sheath.
“Hey, Mina!” he grinned when he came to a stop in front of her, panting slightly. Always in such a rush, she thought fondly. No wonder he’s the star quarterback. “Are you excited? I sure am!”
“Yeah,” she lied. There was no room to be excited with all the guilt filling her to the brim. Eijirou’s smile somehow managed to get brighter. Despite everything, her heart still jumped in her chest when he grabbed her hand, his thick and calloused fingers so strangely perfect around her slim ones, and pulled her onto the practice field.
“This is perfect!” he exclaimed, looking up at the starry night sky with his hands on his hips. Mina only hummed quietly, robotically unfolding a blanket and placing it over the grass. She’d arranged for the school to shut off the nighttime lights for the evening, giving them a clear view of the moon and stars. Thus, they were the only things that provided illumination as Mina and Eijirou sat down on the soft blanket together. “I didn’t know if we would want to get a better look at the comet, so I brought this!” he said excitedly, slipping the telescope off his back and setting it down between them. Mina hummed again, anxiety swirling in the pit of her belly. In the gloom, she could still see Eijirou’s bright red eyebrows scrunch.
“Mina…? What’s wrong?” he asked quietly. Mina debated lying for a moment; she nervously plucked at the loose fibers of her stockings, unable to meet his pretty vermillion eyes. The lie never got the chance to dance on her tongue. She knew she had to come clean, to tell him the truth before she toted him along even further.
“Eijirou… I have to confess something,” she admitted quietly. He shifted beside her, eyebrows raised.
“What is it?”
“I’m not as good a person as you think I am.” Her voice shook as tears flooded her eyes. She bit down on her lip as a sniffle slipped free. Eijirou looked at her in utter bewilderment, confusion swirling in those gorgeous vermillion eyes that had struck her the moment she had first seen them. He gently reached out to stroke his fingertips ever-so-lightly down her cheek; she turned away, a tear slipping down her cheek that was still tingling with his featherlight touch. “Don’t,” she begged, her voice nothing more than a strained whisper. “I don’t deserve your sympathy.”
“Mina…”
“I used you, Eijirou,” she said finally, choking the words out as her throat constricted with guilt. “I used your popularity for my own gain. I just wanted my club to be popular.”
She didn’t look at him as the silence hung heavy between them, like an anvil suspended on a slowly fraying rope. She waited with bated breath for the rope to snap and for it to plummet, for him to explode on her like he rightfully should, to tell her she was selfish and cruel and for him to storm away and never look back. She cringed when he inhaled sharply, already preparing for his raised voice.
He didn’t yell or scream or curse. Instead, his voice was heartbreakingly soft when he murmured, “That doesn’t make you a bad person. That just makes you lonely.”
Mina’s eyes fluttered as her heart swelled with hope. She didn’t resist when he cupped her cheek and gently turned her tear-stained face to look at him. Her watery eyes met his red ones, and she was so relieved to find them brimming with understanding, not hate or anger. He swept his thumb over her cheek to catch the tears still streaming over her ruddy skin.
“Mina… I knew that already,” he confessed with a small smile. She gasped in shock, while Eijirou smiled bashfully and rubbed at the back of his neck with his other hand. “As soon as you told me that you were the only member of the club, I figured that you wanted to use my popularity to recruit more people. I was a little bitter about it for a second, but… Then I saw how sad you looked.” He used both his hands to cup her cheeks and leaned forward to press his forehead to hers. “I didn’t want to see that look on your face. Even if you were using me, I wanted you to be happy.”
“Why?” she hiccuped, chest drawing tight like a balloon ready to burst. “Th-that was so horrible of me… And you still wanted to do that for me? Why?”
“Because from the moment you jumped out of that hydrangea bush, I’ve been head-over-heels for you,” he purred, mouth twitching up into a smirk. Her face flushed with a fierce, fiery blush and her mouth dropped open in shock. “And maybe I was a little hopeful that I could get you to be head-over-heels for me, too,” he added with a playful wink. Mina couldn’t help but laugh, mostly from the overwhelming relief bubbling up inside her body. She leaned into him, finding solace in how well her small body fit into his muscular one—like a lock and key, like they belonged together.
Sniffling happily, she curled her fingers into the leathery fabric of his varsity jacket and smiled joyfully.
“Well, you didn’t have to try very hard. How could I not be head-over-heels for you?”
Before they could say anything else, the sky was suddenly filled with bright light. They both turned to see that the comet had appeared among the stars. Its powdery tail streamed pinkish-blue behind the large white body, slowly traveling across the expanse of inky blue like a leisurely sailboat. Mina inhaled sharply as the pastel colors reflected in her eyes and the light danced over her skin and hair; it truly was the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen. She was so entranced that she didn’t register Eijirou’s hand sneaking under her chin again until he turned her face back. The comet danced in his red eyes, making it a pink nebula of stars and space and beauty.
No. Those eyes of his were the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen.
She almost didn’t want to close her own as he leaned in to kiss her, but as soon as his lips smoothed over her own, she couldn’t help it. They drifted shut as she melted against him, savoring the gentle motions of his mouth against hers. Her heart fluttered when his hand drifted up into her cotton-candy hair, twirling around the strands like he was memorizing the feel of the silky threads. He kissed her with rising passion, like an astronaut adrift in space who’d finally found the oxygen he needed.
They pulled apart slightly panting and blushing the same color as the comet streaming slowly above their heads. He stroked her face gently, then wrapped his arms around her and pulled her down on the blanket. She laughed when he hugged her tight, nuzzled into her hair and inhaled deeply.
“You smell like hydrangeas.”
“Eijirou, I thought we were here to watch the comet.”
“It’s pretty,” he remarked with a glance up at the sky. He then looked down at her with that dazzling smile she adored so much. “But I’ve got a heavenly body right here that I’m more interested in.”
“Oh my gosh! That’s so corny!” she howled, throwing her head back in laughter. Eijirou snickered and snuggled into the side of her face, making her laugh more at the ticklish sensation of his nose brushing her skin. He peppered butterfly kisses over every inch of skin he could find, making her squirm and giggle in his grasp.
Finally, he rolled on his side, one arm still snug around her shoulders while he watched the comet slowly make its way across the horizon. She pressed against him, warm and fuzzy and happy.
“You know, despite the circumstances, I’m still glad you asked me to join, Mina,” Eijirou said with a contented sigh. His fingers drifted up to play with the fluffy strands of her hair. Mina rested her head on his chest, smiling while she watched the comet.
“Me too, Eijirou. I can’t wait to spend the rest of the school year checking out heavenly bodies.”
Eijirou gave her a wan look as she snorted piggishly in laughter.
“You’re not going to let me live that down, are you?”
“Absolutely not. I’m already planning to sell tee shirts!”
Eijirou laughed, then rolled over to attack her with snuggles and kisses again. Mina welcomed his embrace and affections. Their laughter drifted up into the sky to join the stars and the streaming glittery trail of the comet, finding a home forever in the vastness of space…

Pairing: Jiroumomo (Jirou x Yaoyorozu)
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Rating: General Audience
Word Count: 4313
-------
Jirou closed her locker with a hard thud. She didn’t mean for it to be that loud but today's hero training lesson really shook her up. She thought she was getting better with her technical moves but she had been beaten in nearly every match today and all she wanted to do was lock herself in her dorm room and busted out her newest cd of a rock and roll band she had been dying to listen to too. That's all she wanted.
“You were really strong out there today.” Of course Momo would complement her. She could see how flustered she was and now Jirou had to keep her face cool enough so the gorgeous goddess like figure that was Momo Yaoyorozu didn’t see the blush forming on her face.
“Oh um thanks. You were amazing, naturally.” She smiled back.
Yaoyorozu finished hanging up her outfit all nice and neat. It always made Jirou laugh as she would tuck her scarlet red suit inside her locker while Uraraka would simply cram hers into that small space before running to the bathroom to empty her stomach. Yikes.
“So Jirou.” Momo trailed off. “Do you maybe want to have a sleepover? I overheard some of the boys talk about having their own and I thought I would like to give it a try.”
A small laugh came out of Jirou’s mouth. “Give it a try?’ She was met with a simple nod as they both finished smoothing out the skirts of their uniforms. “Wait. Yaoyorozu, have you never been to a sleepover before?”
The much taller girl turned bright pink as she began to pack up her things. Momo was one to get flustered or overthink everything constantly but this seemed more, embarrassed? She began to fiddle with her hair tie as she began to pull back her dark locks.
“It's not like I haven’t been invited to them as a child, I just don’t think that maids pampering the guests and I really count as the true experience, yeah know?” It was almost comical of how rich Momo was and how often her class forgot it. It made a little bit of sense that she hadn’t had the true experience, after all living in a mansion was kinda like a permanent fort.
“Well luckily for you. I am an expert. I’ll turn my room into a kick ass pillow fort and we can watch movies and have snacks.”
“Pillow fort?” She turned her head almost like a cute puppy dog who just got offered to go on a walk.
Jirous smile fell. “ Please tell me-” Another shrug and slightly embarrassed smile. “Alright, that's okay, it will be better this way. More of a surprise. My rooms a bit small but we can probably squeeze some more girls-”
Momo held up her hand and looked around as the other girls were starting to head out. Her voice was much quieter this time as if she didn’t want the others to hear.
“Actually. I was wondering if maybe it could just be us?” Momo asked shyly.
No matter how hard she tried, Jirou would not be able to contain the flush of red that spread across her cheeks. She didn’t know why she was slightly panicking. They were friends, best friends even and have hung out alone many times before. They studied, listened to music and occasionally fell asleep on the common room couch together, but for some reason, Momo asking it to be just them felt different. It was odd and was bringing up feelings she wasn’t sure she could handle right now.
“Oh yeah of course.” Deep breath in. And out. “How about tomorrow?” That should be enough time to emotionally prepare.
The bell rang through the locker room signaling it was time for them to head to their next class.
“I’ll bring snacks.” Momo said happily as she took her bag and headed out.
Jirou smiled to herself while poking her ear jacks together. Behind her she heard a coo and a giggle. Her eyes widened as Mina was practically glowing from hearing other conversations.
“You two are super cute!” The pink alien giggled which made her face redden further. “Don’t be such a bashful doll, Momo is super into you!” Mina always knew the drama and could sniff it out like a little piggy with truffles. Of course she had seen through her face.
A small pain of sadness ran through her. “She's not-” Jirou frowned but dropped the subject. Mina could sense the shift in mood and laced her arm through hers as they began to walk to English.
“Well you still want to give her the best slumber party ever. I’ll help you set up tomorrow.”
“Thanks Mina.”
--
It was Saturday which meant no school and most importantly, the smartest and cutest girl would be coming over to spend the night. Jirou was bright and early to make sure she turned her room into a pillow wonderland. She began by stripping her bed clean and pulling all the extra blankets and pillows she had.
The pile of supplies seemed small and weak. She remembers being able to create amazing forts with her cousins back home. The hallways would be lined with chairs as sheets were stretched and taped on while they crawled underneath.
But now this was just plain sad. How was she supposed to impress her with just four blankets and five pillows? She couldn’t.
A knock from her door interrupted her thoughts and she opened it while rubbing her eyes. “Mina.” She had almost forgotten that her friend offered to help her and with the way things were going, she was relieved to see the extra support.
The bubbly girl, honestly who has this much energy in the morning? Came bouncing in with her hands full of blankets followed by a mound of pillows being carried by Hagakure. Another stack of blankets had fallen into the floor as Tsuyu dropped them off.
“We are ready to help you throw the most amazing pillow fort party ever! Sucks that we can’t come but nonetheless, we shall be your faithful helpers!” Mina cheered and the door shut as the four girls got to work trying to figure out the best way to configure this.
After a few hours of planning, blankets falling, pillows being thrown, a whole box of juice boxes and instruments being smacked down from the walls then shoved into her closet, the maze that was now a pillow fort was complete.
The girls stood back and admired their work. A low whistle came from Mina as she patted Jirou on the back. “She’s going to love this!” Tsyu said as they began to leave just in time for the queen herself to arrive.
Jirou sat in her new arranged room on the floor waiting and the realization that she was about to have the prettiest girl in her room by herself was kicking in.
“What if she doesn’t like it?” Her eyes widened. “What if she doesn’t have fun and wants to leave?” All these thoughts began to corrupt her mind as she was playing out the worst case scenario.
A polite knock at the door came and she picked her head up from her knees. She crawled through the massive fort, as massive as it can be in this cramped dorm room and answered the door.
“Hey.” Momo said with a bright and beautiful smile. She was wearing a simple tank top and bottom set but Jirou knew it was made from imported silk. The light pink looked really good on her skin and she had to stop herself from checking out her best friend. Her dark long hair was falling freely on her shoulders. It was rare for her to not have her hair up but Jirou thought she looked really pretty with it down.
She looked down at her own outfit. An over sized hoodie with her favorite bands logo and black fuzzy shorts.
“Come on in.” She said casually and moved down to the floor to crawl. Momo followed and soon they were sitting in the middle of the pillow fort.
“Wow, this is amazing.” Momo looked around. It was such a simple concept but she adored the domestic feeling it provided. She was used to the finer things in life but moments like these made her wish she knew more about the freedom of playing than learning about business trades.
Momo was in awe as she saw the layers of blankets being taped to the walls and hung from the furniture. There were pillows everywhere on the floor providing them with a mass amount of seating options and she couldn’t believe she had never done this before.
“It's really not but I hope you will have a good time.”
“Any time with you is good.”
Jirou swore she saw a dust of pink on Momos cheeks. It was faint but the hope of her feelings died quickly as the other girl turned and pulled some items out of her back.
“I brought some snacks!.” She laid them in front of her as well as two very expensive looking tea cups. She almost didn't want to touch them.
Momo pulled out a thermos and began to pour. “I decided to go with a green tea and raspberry blend, something light but full of flavor. It comes from Spain back when my family visited there and the family that grows the tea leaves only makes ten batches a year because it's so hard to grow.” Momo stated and Jirou laughed as the dark red liquid filled the cup.
Momo opened a small tin of cookies which she informed her were from Scotland and an assortment of chocolates and mixed nuts that came all the way from Belgium and different regions of South america.
“Sorry if it's not enough.” she shuddered as Jirou bit into one of the chocolates and almost moaned at how creamy and delectable the taste was.
“Are you kidding? These are amazing.” She said as she popped another in her mouth. “I only have some chips from the kitchen and you brought the entire world into my room.”
A giggle came from Momo's mouth as she took a sip from her tea. Even in her pajamas, she still looked fancy.  “So lovely host, what are the activities for tonight?”
“Well my lovely guest.” Momo laughed at this. “I thought maybe a movie or show, some card games, possibly a pillow fight if we don't take this all down with us and of course some gossip and girl talk. No particular order.”
“Let's start with a card game.” Momo clapped her hands together before rummaging through her bag and pulling out a brand new set of cards. “I made these yesterday! I’ve been practicing on simple items and I hope they have the same texture as a regular set.”
Jirou took the deck and began to shuffle. They looked like regular cards and had the same lightness as well. She always became amazed whenever she witnessed her quirk in action. She began throwing the cards back and forth until they had a good amount then set the rest in the middle.
“Alright Yaoyorozu. Got any 2’s?” Jirou asked and a competitive game of Go Fish broke out.
After about six rounds of Go Fish, which Momo complained she only won two games and an unsuccessful round of Poker on Jirou’s part, the deck was tossed back into Momo’s fancy bag and ready for another time.
“Whats next?” Momo asked and Jirou shrugged.
“Your choice.” She gestured to her laptop that was ready to stream a movie, all the pillows and even a few coloring books that Mina had brought her.
Momo thought for a second before looking around. “It might be a little too early for a movie.” The sun was beginning to set and Jirou agreed.
“So what are you thinking?” She leaned back on her elbows and watched Momo’s ‘thinking’ face appear.
Her eyes widened with a spark as a grin appeared. She crawled through the small opening on the other side. Jirou popped in another chocolate candy as Momo had disappeared, she could see her shadows moving and heard a bit of movement.
“You know what I’ve always wanted to see?” Momo called out and even though it was a small room, it felt like she was miles apart from her.
“What's that?” Jirou answered as she ate another one. Gosh these were amazing.
Momo's head popped back into the fort and she scooted backwards towards her as she held something in her hands.
“Oh come on.” Jirou laughed as she wiped her fingers clean. “Really?” She smiled as she took the acoustic guitar from her.
“I’ve always wanted to see you play. Ever since the room tour I've been intrigued by your musical talents.”
Jirou never thought that being able to play an instrument was something super special. Anyone could really do it and it wasn’t exactly the hardest thing to learn. The fact that Momo sat tapping her fingers in anticipation waiting for her to play and actually wanting to hear her meant a lot.
She began to tune the guitar. She hadn’t played this particular one in awhile and she was thankful that she had soundproofed her room so that none of the other girls would hear her practically serenading Momo. The familiar strum of the guitar string brought her back to the days she would sit in her backyard and practice. She had always had a soft spot with the instrument. It felt the most personal and could help convey her feelings better than her other instruments could.
“Any particular song?” She asked and Momo looked up and tapped her chin.
“What about an original?”
That wasn’t what she expected. It took her back as she nervously strummed. She wanted to protest and tell her that she doesn’t write her own songs which would be a lie because mom has caught her writing before.
“Maybe the one you wrote in the park?” Momo added.
Jirou has written many songs before, most rock and roll songs and occasional pop songs but that one, that particular one was a love song. The only one she had written. She didn’t know that Momo was standing behind her that day as she was busy scribbling down her thoughts.
“I didn’t know you knew about that.” Jirou muttered as she hugged the guitar close to her chest. She was nervous to sing the song. It was personally and she was scared that momo would realize it was about her. But she shook off that thought and Momo settled down and stared at her like she was the most important thing.
She began playing the song, the words flowing along like a river. She kept her eyes shut as she played and began to lose herself in the song. If she wasn’t striving to be a hero, she probably would have studied music instead. The thought of writing songs for someone or performing them herself was something she had always dreamed of doing. Maybe once she becomes a professional hero, she might also part time as a musician.
She ended the song and opened her eyes. She was met with a small round of applause from Mom who looked like she genuinely enjoyed the performance.
“That was beautiful.” She commended her and Jirou brushed back a piece of hair before setting her guitar behind her.
“Thank you.” She replied. “I’ve never played any of my songs for anyone before.”
“Well thank you for letting me be the first one then.”
Jirou found herself blushing more today then she has in her entire life. She grabbed her laptop before flipping it open. “Movie time?” She asked as she tried to calm her rapidly beating heart.
“Sounds good.”
--
The movie ended and the girls decided to sit in a comfortable silence as they checked their phones. Mina had been texting her, asking her how it was going and telling her to relax. She turned off her phone before relaxing again and just enjoying the presence of her friend.
“Who do you think would win in a fight? Denki or a jellyfish?” Jirou asked and Momo let out a  loud laugh and covered her mouth.
“Denki.” Momo stated. And Jirou giggled.
“I’d pick the jellyfish.”
“That’s so mean!” But she continued to laugh anyways.
“No different then when you asked if Kirishima could beat a shark.”
“Which I think he can.” Momo added and their giggle faded off.
Jirou laid on her back facing the makeshift ceiling of the blankets and somehow began to count the number of dots on the pink blanket. Next to her was Momo who was laying on her side, finger toying with the frizz of the carpet.
“Can I ask you a question?” Momo said out of the blue. Her tone was different from the previous rounds of asking. It was soft and hesitant as if she was running it over and over in her mind.
“Yeah of course.” Jirou responded but never took her eyes off the blanket. So far she had counted twenty six dots.
“Why didn't you go out with Denki?”
She stopped counting and felt her body tense up. “I know he really liked you and you two seem like such good friends that I was surprised when you turned him down.” She continued.
Jirou felt the fears she desperately wanted to avoid surface and she tried to keep counting. She was at thirty seven now.
“ I liked someone else.” She said honestly and she heard Momo hum beside her. “Why do you ask?” She was met with silence. She took a chance and rolled on her side to face her.
She was met with a pair of eyes that seemed to hold an uncertainty as she looked at her. Momo's mouth was slightly parted open as if she wanted to say something but she didn’t trust herself. A silent tension was formed as the pair looked at each other.
“Jirou can I tell you a secret?” She asked and the other girl swore they could see tears forming in her eyes.
She felt worried seeing her friend like that and moved closer. “Of course.”
“Promise me whatever I say you will still be my friend?” Her eyes were now boring into hers. Almost like a plea.
“Momo, you can tell me anything.” Her voice was softer than anything Momo has heard before.
She turned her head and a single tear slipped down her cheek. “I’m gay.” Her voice was on the verge of breaking and she was terrified to look back at Jirou. She was scared that she would yell and be ashamed to be her friend or be mad for not telling her sooner. That fear of rejection played over and over in her mind and she was afraid that she made a giant mistake.
Instead she was pulled into a hug. Her arms immediately tightened around her frame as the other whispered how proud she was into her ears and she finally let all the tension and fears flow free in tears.
“Momo.” She pulled away and looked at her. “I will always be your friend, you never have to worry about that. You being gay wouldn’t make me care for you any less, plus I’m bisexual so I understand your fear of coming out. It can be scary but hey, I'm here for you.”
Momo wiped her tears away and her lips curled up.
 “Are you okay?”
Momo only nodded. “Yes.” She took in another deep breath, calming herself down.
“Can I tell you a secret now?” Jirous said cautiously and Momo shook her head as the other girl began to lean in closer. “I was afraid to tell the person I liked how I felt.”
“I don’t think you should be.” The other girl whispered.
They were meant with another silence as their noses touched and their eyes met with a secret plea from each of them. A small smile appeared on Momos lips as she nodded and felt a soft pair of lips touch her own. It was hesitant and slow. Almost like testing the waters before diving straight in. She responded to the kiss and accepted it as she kissed the other girl back.
Jirou felt tears wet her cheeks as arms wrapped around her shoulders and pulled her impossibly closer. There was a rush of excitement as their lips parted and they each caught their own breaths.
“Wow.” Momo whispered and Jirou nodded.
“Wow indeed.” She laughed.
“Want to know something else?” Jirou turned her head. “That song was about you.”
“You, you wrote a song about me?” She asked and before she could respond, Jirou was pulled into another hug. “That makes it even more amazing.”
They each could barely contain their smiles until Jirou suggested that they watched another movie. Their fingers slowly entered as the movie played and every so often one of them would kiss the other girl's cheek, making them blush profusely.
Of course they had chosen a romantic love story and normally that wasn’t Jirous type of movie, she preferred action or even musicals, but as she watched the two characters fall in love on screen, she wouldn’t have chosen anything else.
It was well late into the night as the credits began to roll and a yawn escaped both of their lips. They fluffed their pillows before laying their heads down and faced each other. Momo brushed a piece of hair out of Jirous face and kissed her hand.
“I’m really happy you invited me over.” She said quietly.
“Me too.”
----
The sun came shining in and even with the mass amounts of blankets blocking the light, Jirou woke to a bright room. She rubbed at her eyes and looked to see a snoozing Momo. Even in her sleep she looked perfect as she hand her hands under her head and lips pushed slightly out. She reminded her of a sleeping princess, of course Momo was delicate and refined in every way of her life and it made jirou laugh a little making sleeping beauty flutter her eyes open.
“Good morning.” Momo smiled at her. She sat up and rubbed away the sleep before stretching her arms out and tried to not knock the blankets down. They were both thankful her hair was down because her massive ponytail would have taken the fort down the moment she got in.
Jirou grabbed her phone before looking at the time. “Wanna grab coffee?” She asked and Momo nodded quickly. They locked eyes for a second before the memories of last night came flooding back.
A blush spread on Jirous cheek as she remembered their kiss and soon she felt those plush lips on the corner of her mouth. “You are so cute when you turn pink.” She barely heard Momo as her brain was trying to register what was happening.
She grabbed the tips of her ear jacks and began tapping them together, a nervous trait she's had since she was a child but Momo thought it was quite adorable. “Um Yaoyorozu?” She asked. “Are we-”
“Oh.” Momo understood immediately. She picked up a brush and began to comb the ends of her hair. “I mean, I would love to. As long as you do that is?”
“Yes!” Jirou said maybe a little too fast for her own liking. “Coffee at ten?” She said before being met with a nod.
Momo leaned in and kissed her again and jirou swore she saw stars. She never thought that all this mushy and gushy romance stuff would be up her ally but she was finding herself enjoying it with each press of the lips and the giggles that followed.
Momo grabbed her bag before leaving to get dressed. “See you then.” She winked.
Jirou heard the door close and grabbed her pillow before doing a mix of a scream and a cheer into it. She never felt this light and happy before and maybe she was still on the first kiss bliss from last night but she never wanted that feeling to go away.
She got up and began to get ready, making sure she looked decent enough for her girlfriend. Girlfriend. The thought of holding her hands on their way to class and going on dates while they tell each other all their secrets and stories from their childhoods made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
She finished lacing her shoe before grabbing her phone and leaving her dorm room.
“So how’d it go?” Mina had bombarded her right as she closed her door.
Jirou couldn’t contain her smile as they walked down to the common room and told her everything, well mostly everything that happened. They entered the elevator and she swore Mina’s screech of joy could be heard all the way across campus and she made her calm down before the doors opened.
They found the other girls sitting around a table and Momo was sitting next to an empty chair. Jirou sat next to her and Tsuyu smiled.
“So Yaoyorozu, how was your first pillow fort sleepover?” The frog hero asked and Jirou could see her holding back a wide smile.
“Amazing.” She said before pecking Jirou’s cheek with a kiss making the girl turn beet red.
The other girls began to congratulate them and swoon over the fact that they were gonna be the cutest couple ever. Jirou met Momo’s beautiful brown eyes as they shared their own private moment and wrapped their fingers together.
“Best sleepover ever.” Jirou whispered to herself as she joined back into the conversation.
“Okay who would win in a fight? Bakugou or Godzilla?” Mina said as the table busted out laughing.

Between Right and Wrong
Part three of my prince Yunho thing
Fandom: ATINY
Pairing: prince!Yunho x nonroyal!reader (fem)
Summary: Someone catches the eye of the future king and it isn’t his future queen. [Fluff but some angst because it mentions death as something more desirable than something] Part 1 here
Tumblr media
One of his hands rested on your waist, while the other came up to wipe the smudge of lipstick on the corner of your mouth, then to cup your cheek. You were dizzy, he was so close you could barely think straight but you knew enough to know as good as his hand felt on you it was all wrong. You brought your hand up to graze his wound, hoping it would snap you both out of making a terrible mistake.
“Your majesty, you’re hurt.”
He shook his head.
“Only a scratch.” He whispered, against your lips.
Yunho’s thoughts were filled with you, it both delighted him and pissed off. When he was having a hard day, all he had to do was look for you, your smile that could melt the entirety of the northern kingdom, but that smile haunted him when he was in meetings. No matter how important the situation, a thief in the village, the rising tension with the northern kingdom, you seemed to take president.  And with you taking up most of his attention, he completely forgot about his family coming to visit.
“I just don’t understand why we have to greet them so formally, they’re family.” Yunho grumbled, fussing with the sleeve of his shirt. The guys have known him since he was a baby, they’ve seen him covered in dirt and sweat and yet his mother insisted on this ridiculous display.
“It’s because you’re royals.” You giggled, walking up beside him. Once you saw his messy collar you couldn’t stop yourself from reaching up and fixing it for him, but froze once you realised what you were doing. “Sorry.” You mumbled, stepping away from him. He reached out to grab you to prevent you from moving too far back, but he just missed.
“Why are you sorry?” He asked, although it came out as a whisper. He thought you were past this but apparently, you weren’t.
“Your friends should be here soon, I’ll see you at the main gate.” You said, looking at the ground, Yunho opened his mouth to say something but you had already turned on your heel and rushed away.
Seeing his friends was definitely worth the stuffy clothes, Yunho didn’t know how long it had been since they last saw each other, he only knew that it was too long. He greeted Seonghwa and Hongjoong with a grin and hug and put stiff Yeosang into a headlock, Jongho and San also got hugs. Wooyoung walked right by Yunho to Jihyo, bowing and placing a kiss on her hand. Mingi drop kicked him right then and there.
“Relax Mingi, I was only greeting my queen.” He said, flirtatiously. Mingi’s face scrunched up in disgust as he stood in front of Jihyo protecting her from his greasy friend.
The boys took to the gardens immediately. When they were little, the gardens were like a maze, they could spend hours running around, but now that they towered over the bushes, they spent their time practising archery and swordsmanship.
The servants brought them some tea and snacks while they fooled around, or rather San and Wooyoung were sparring with large branches, Yeosang and Seonghwa were competing to see who could do better in archery in such a civilised way it made Yunho roll his eyes. Jongho was tossing around an apple by the fountain with Mingi trying to distract him, Hongjoong sat with Yunho by the tea, catching up with and occasionally heckling his friends.
“Seonghwa, is that really the best you can do?” Hongjoong teased as Seonghwa got a near perfect bulls-eye. Seonghwa chuckled and shook his head.
“My apologies prince, for not everyone has the time to shoot arrows all day.” Seonghwa called back, the two were cousins but Seonghwa did not have royal blood and so he was only a Noble but Hongjoong treated him more like a brother so he lived at the palace like a royal.
“My queen!” Wooyoung called, jumping down from the ledge of the fountain where he and San were attacking each other with overgrown branches. “What a sight you are, after looking at these savages for so long, I feel like my eyes have been renewed.” Mingi jumped up, grabbing the stick from San and hit Wooyoung in the back.
“Oops.” Mingi shrugged, tossing the stick to the ground.
And as you and Jihyo approached it was like all Yunho could see was you. He stood up and grinned at you, making you blush and look to the ground causing his smile to grow even wider.
“Noona, we’re hanging out guys only!” Jongho said in a nasally voice. Jihyo giggled.
“Maybe if we were still young, but we’re of age now, which is actually why I’m here.” She said.
“Come to talk to your betrothed?” Hongjoong chuckled, they were all friends, not extremely close but they knew each other long enough to joke comfortably. Jihyo only took your hand and pulled you forward, instantly Yunho stood up, the urge to be at your side overtaking him. His heart was pounding too quickly to be considered healthy, but in the best possible way.
“Actually, I came to introduce Y/N to Seonghwa.” She smiled.
“What?” Yunho gulped. “Why?” He snapped, the pounding feeling moving to his throat, like it was blocking it and preventing him from breathing.
“Lady Y/N must find a husband soon, and I think Seonghwa is a perfect candidate.” Jihyo looked at her friend sharply. “Wouldn’t you agree? He’s handsome, kind, well spoken and he has both land and title.”
“It’s an honour to meet you, Lady Y/N.” Seonghwa smiled, coming up to you. He was indeed attractive but not the same way Yunho was, Seonghwa was intimidatingly handsome whereas Yunho was cute and warm, easy to talk to as well as look at.
“The honour is all mine.” You said politely, bowing in front of him. Life was cruel, why couldn’t Seonghwa be the unattainable prince and Yunho the person your queen would set you up with.
Yunho’s jaw clenched so hard that his teeth grinned against each other. He glared at Jihyo with all the hate in the world, almost matching his distaste to that of the northern kingdom. And if that wasn’t enough to make Yunho nearly explode, Jihyo clapped her hands together.
“You guys should go for a walk, and get to know each other!” She chirped. Seonghwa held his arm out to you, you glanced at it hesitantly, wanting to look at Yunho.
Yunho prayed that you look at him, so you can see his eyes pleading with you to say no, but instead you looked at Jihyo who grinned at you, nodding. Yunho’s heart shattered the second you reached your hand out and took his arm. As the two of you walked away all the energy drained from his body.
“Why?” Yunho demanded through clenched teeth.
“Come back to reality Yunho, Y/N needs to be focusing on her future, not an engaged prince.” Jihyo sighed. She knew you were interested in Yunho as it was painfully obvious but she thought Yunho was being a little selfish by making you think there was a possibility for the two of you.
“If that’s the case, then perhaps I should introduce Mingi to one of the eastern princesses, Tsuyu is quite lovely.” He hissed, walking right up to her. She glared back at him.
“How dare you.” She sneered. “That is not the same.”
“Isn’t it?” Yunho spat, Jihyo opened her mouth to say something but Yunho was already walking away.
👑
Seonghwa turned out to be a lovely person, much less intimidating than he looked, there was only one problem, he wasn’t Yunho. You didn’t know what it was, Seonghwa was perfect, perfect for you, a perfect man, just perfect. But perhaps you were just a masochist because you couldn’t cut the thread that connected your heart to Yunho.
“Lady, Y/N?” Hongjoong greeted, you bowed to him.
“Prince Hongjoong.” He shook his head.
“Please, just Hongjoong.” He smiled, you smiled back, your mind distracted from Yunho for only a moment. “How was your date with Seonghwa?” He asked and your smile faltered, that it was a date wasn’t it?
“It was good, Seonghwa is quite the gentleman.” You smiled politely. Hongjoong nodded knowingly.
“If you don’t mind,” you shift your weight from one foot to the other, suddenly uncomfortable with the new subject.
“Of course.” Hongjoong stepped aside, letting you scurry away. You went straight to the kitchen seeking the comfort that only cake could fill. And apparently Yunho had the same idea because he walked into the kitchen shortly after you started digging into the cake with only a fork. He froze when he saw you, a million things running through his mind, as well as yours, the both of you stayed silent, not knowing what to say until-
“I don’t know what to do.” Yunho blurted, tears threatening his eyes.
“About what?” You asked, your voice just above a whisper.
“You.” He confessed. Your breath hitched in your throat and if you hadn’t abandoned the cake, you would have choked on it. “I know that I shouldn’t be here, so close to you, it’s dangerous for me, for your reputation. And now that Jihyo has introduced you and Seonghwa, I really shouldn’t be here.”
“I’m not a pet for someone to command where I get to be.” You teased, trying to bring his beautiful smile back to his face. “I make my own decisions, your highness.”
“Then tell me what I should do, because the logical part of me is screaming at myself to turn around and run, to put as much distance between us as possible.” He whispered. “But I can’t.” He looked drained, like he could fall to his knees at any moment. “In fact, the only thing I’ve been wanting to do is kiss you.”
You let out a sharp breath you didn’t even realise you were holding.
“So, what should I do?”

Sweet Sensations
When Mina had suggested a trip to the local candy shop, she hadn’t expected nearly the entire class to come along. But she wasn’t one to complain. The more the merrier, right? So, the large group of teens made their way out of the dorm, from the campus and into the streets of the city, eventually reaching the relatively peaceful area where the goodies could be found. Chatter floated about, and the girls marveled at the clothing placed in store-front windows.
A soft-spoken conversation lingered between Shouto and Momo, the latter wearing a gentle smile, and Denki left Kyouka wheezing for air after he told many ludicrous jokes. Bakugou, Kirishima, and many others traveled together, while Minoru flittled about, attempting to get nice views of the female students. Tenya wandered around the smaller clusters, getting on to those who were ‘making trouble’.
At the front of the moving pack, Tsuyu watched lightheartedly as her conversational friend fondly spoke with the bright boy beside her. As she stepped in time with the duo, smile ever present on her face, bemusement fell over Tsuyu.
Ochako had snorted, then covered her face with one of her hands, waving the other about. She attempted to contain the laughs spawned by something Izuku had said, but ultimately failed. “Wha-what?!” He cried, flustered as he questioned her sudden eruption of giggles.
“Noth- Nothing!” She removed her hand from her face, only to put it back after seeing the green-haired boy’s pout. “It was just cute!” She defended, chuckles bubbling from within her chest.
“EH?!” Izuku’s eyes grew wide with a mix between surprise and embarrassment. “Cute?!” His mind screamed as his face burned like an ember and his heart thudded rapidly.
“Oh god.” “AHHHHHHHHHHH!!” Ochako screeched, her face igniting in a fire of humiliation. “What! No! I didn’t mean it that way! I mean-! Ack, I’m sorry!” Words stumbled from her lips at rapid fire as she continued to back away. At this point, everyone had begun to watch the situation, intrigued by Ochako’s flustered screaming.
Smirks adorned the faces of many teens, and frowns of confusion for others. (A single scowl belonging to none other than Katsuki.) All attention was cast to the duo up at front as they skidded away from one another, faces illuminated with bright red.
There was a temporary pause in the movement of the group, which quickly came to an end after several awkward chuckles. The travel towards the candy shop commenced once again, Izuku and Ochako far apart and refusing to look in the remote direction of the other.
After several more minutes of walking and joking banter, the crowd of Yuuei students reached their destination; a little treasure by the name of Sweet Sensations. Delicious scents were wafting out from inside the store, and the window graciously displayed elaborate designs of candy and deserts.
They all shuffled into the building, discussions of what to buy emerging as they dispersed into groups. Izuku stood, fidgeting his fingers about the generic candy section. He was still attempting to calm his clamoring heart.
“Bakugou!” He heard Eijirou shout, “Look what I found!” Izuku swiveled to see the redhead holding up two rock candy sticks, both with plastic packaging. One was a bright crimson, and the other a glowing orange.
“Cool,” Katsuki answered over his shoulder without turning to look. The broad smile fell from Eijirou’s face, and his hands fell to his sides. He quickly shook it off and continued to search the shop, keeping the two hard candies in hand.
Izuku went back to examining the sweets, only to be jolted by a high voice. “Find anything, Deku?” He squealed and backed away in surprise, looking up to see the pink tinted face of Ochako. And then came the rapid heartbeat and sputtering nonsense once again.
“Ahaha,” he gave an uncomfortable chuckle, trying to ignore the obvious blush on his face. “Not- not really, no.” He shrugged after Ochako made a disappointed sound. “What about you?”
“Oh...,” she looked away, fumbling with the straps of her purse, “I didn’t really plan on buying anything, so I didn’t bring enough money...” She smiled at him, eyes closed, “But that’s okay!”
The green-haired hero bit his lip, “Well,” he started, the beginnings of a plan forming in his head, “If you want, you could help me look for something.” He said it more as a question, awaiting her answer with nervousness.
She gasped in excitement, “Really? I’d love to!” And thus, a normal conversation commenced as the two explored the unique candy shop, commenting on cute candies and desserts. Izuku made sure to keep note of everything Ochako said, hatching a scheme that would make her day.
“Oh! I love these!” The brunette stated around 20 minutes into the search for the perfect treat. “Perfect amount of sweetness with a hint of tart!” Picking up a box of the circular multi-colored candies, she showed them to Izuku, telling a story of how her father would always get them for her after a hard day.
He smiled, listening as she continued the endearing tale, “I know it’s silly, but it meant a lot to me... He would say something like,” she lowered her voice jokingly,“Wanna talk about it, champ?” and hand me a box of ‘em. As a kid, having that really helped.” Ochako finished, looking down as she smiled fondly at the memories.
“Well! We should keep looking around!” Interrupting the peaceful moment, she shoved the box of Sweet Tarts back onto the shelf, and grabbed Izuku’s arm, dragging him over to another section of the store (insueing a storm of blushing and embarrassed exclamations).
Over an hour had passed since the high schoolers had reached the candy shop, and many waited in the purchase line, discussing the various deserts they had selected, while others rested outside on benches. “Really? You got Toxic Waste?” Came Kyouka’s suspicious voice up from the front. She looked at Denki, eyebrow cocked at his goofy smile after he nodded, handing his collection of candies to the clerk.
“You know it! I also got some Warheads! Bet’cha that I can eat more than you!” He sung, grinning from ear to ear.
“Whatever, Kaminari,” she chuckled with a sigh after he payed and recieved a tied bag of his purchased treats.
As the two walked out, Izuku listened in as the two boys ahead of him and Ochako discussed something. “C’mon Bakugou, just let me pay for your stuff,” Eijirou reasoned, grabbing for the bag and packet in the blonde’s hands.
“It’s just some Atomic Fireballs and Pop Rocks, I can handle it, hair-for-brains,” He raised an eyebrow and scrutinized the teen beside him.
“I know that, but just- here,” he snatched his friend’s items, “Lemme’ take care of it.” He grinned, nodding slowly with his eyes closed.
“Whatever,” Katsuki huffed, crossing his arms. The two progressed in line, reaching the register, where Eijirou placed the bag of firey candies and package of popping rocks on the counter. While the ash-blonde wasn’t looking, he slid the employee the rock candies from earlier.
“Ah! Tsu, what did you get?” Izuku turned to the girl at his side to see her chatting with the frog hero, who had happened to pace by the duo on her way out of the shop.
“Oh, I can show you outside, if you’d like,” Ochako looked at Izuku pleadingly, asking without words if he would mind.
“Of course you can go!” He said with a nod. “This is the chance I’ve been waiting for!” He thought as the two exited the building, Ochako telling Tsuyu about what she had seen that day. “Thanks for the diversion, Asui!” He zipped out from behind Katsuki and Eijirou (who were finishing paying), relinquishing his place in line.
“What are you doing, Midoriya?” Minoru’s nasally voice stopped Izuku in his tracks, and he turned around to see the small hero-in-training holding a box of tiny Wax Bottles candy.
He laughed awkwardly, “Umm, I, uh, forgot something that I wanted!” He fibbed, just hoping to get away from the small teen.
“Oh,” Minoru turned back to the register, silently questioning Izuku’s nervous behavior. Sighing with relief, said boy disappeared behind a tall shelf, returning to a section he had already visited that day.
The Sweet Tart section. He looked around the various types, some coming in giant size, or ropes... As he skimmed the shelf, his eyes landed on a hidden pouch, tucked behind boxes of the original variants. It was a white, mesh bag filled with the candies. Picking it up, Izuku noticed that the sweets were shaped as hearts, instead of the ordinary disks. Thinking of his friend, he decided that the cute and special presentation of the deserts fit her.
He made his way back over to the check-out line, shuffling in behind Tooru and Mashirao (the former hanging on the boy’s arm, chatting excitedly about how cute the gummies she had selected were), unbeknownst to the message contained within the treats he had just chosen.
After all of the students had purchased and met outside the shop, the swift journey back to Heights Alliance began, many of the students traveling in their earlier group. Momo and Shouto continued to walk together, the latter holding the trash of an ice cream wrapper in his hand as they both shared a store-made chocolate bar. Fumikage walked silently with Tooru and Mashirao, the girl as energetic as ever as she popped candy into her mouth. Kyouka humored Denki and Minoru as Mina entertained Tsuyu and Ochako. Up ahead, Bakugou and Kirishima brisked along with the other boys, making the pace. Tagging behind all of them, a smile tugging at his lips, Izuku followed, thankful for the day.
After an inhale to boost confidence, he made his way over to Ochako and the others, tapping his friend’s shoulder. “Um, Uraraka?”
She whipped around to face him, then filed in to skip beside him cheerfully, “Hey Deku! What’s up?” She smiled, cocking her head to the side sweetly.
“Well, um,” He gulped, “Would you mind walking over there with me for a bit? I have something to... show you...” He closed his eyes, nervous of her answer.
“Of course!” Making their way a bit farther back than the rest of the group, Ochako questioned, “So, what is it you wanna show me?”
He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment, averting his eyes from the girl, “You said that you didn’t have enough money to buy anything... so I got you this!” He shoved the pouch of Sweet Tarts into her hands, staring at the ground.
She gasped, and quickly threw her arms around Izuku, bringing him into a tight hug. “Deku! Thank you!”
For a moment, Izuku didn’t know what to do with his hands, but after a couple of moments he realized that she was still hugging him. Blushing, he bashfully roped his own arms around her, resting his head on her shoulder. “No problem, Uraraka.” He smiled fondly... and then the moment was over, leaving two sputtering and bright red teens reeling backwards.
The journey to the dorms was continued silently for the two, both privately smiling after the small ordeal. Ochako held the gift up to her chest, heart warmed by Izuku’s thoughtfulness.
The students reached their destination in a short fifteen minute walk, and many gathered in the common area to share their spoils with the class, while some went about preparing for bed or finishing some last minute studying. Ochako took a seat on one of the couches, Mina settling in beside her, talking up a storm as usual. Izuku had went upstairs to go grab something from his bedroom, but stated that he would be back down shortly.
In the meantime, several teens dumped out their sacks of treats and began to dig in, swapping pieces with others nearby. “I thought you said you didn’t have any money?” Mina questioned Ochako, catching her off-guard when she peeled the mesh pouch from her hands.
“Ah! I didn’t...,” Ochako began to explain, but hesitated. Mina smirked at her, jostling the bag of Sweet Tarts. “Where’d ya get these from, then?” Her expression read, and Ochako knew she would have to confess. “Deku gave them to me.” She tried to sound confident, even crossing her arms.
“Oh did he now?” Mina teased, inspecting the candies. She went silent, and her eyes grew wide. “Wait, you’re serious?!” She pivoted the gift towards Ochako, shoving it in her face.
“Well-! Yeah!” Ochako defended, and then she yanked the bag from Mina’s hand. At the sight of it, her stomach dropped to her feet. On it were the words, “You’re my sweetheart.”
“Hahaha!” Mina burst out laughing, pointing at her flustered friend who had yet to say a word. “He loves you!” She continued mocking her (in the most friendly way possible), urging Ochako about the ‘definite feelings’ Izuku and her shared.
“Surely... Surely he didn’t notice...” She reasoned, attempting to play off the words of affection as a mistake. Ochako uncinched the pouch, picking out one of the heart shaped candies. “Oh my god.”
Mina recovered from her laughter, and glanced at the small sweet in Ochako’s hands. “What?” She erupted in another fit of giggles, leaving Ochako to sputter in defeat.
“Luv U” read the candy. They were Sweet Tart versions of conversation hearts. “Nope, nope-ity nope, I can’t handle this,” Ochako’s thoughts rang, as she tried to contain her raging flush.
“He loves you! Oooo! He loves you!” Mina continued to sing, further aggravating her friend’s embarrassment. Frowning, her heart thumping in her chest, Ochako stared down at the pouch, eyes sifting through them.
She felt a hand on her shoulder, and whipped around to see Tsuyu, “It’s okay, Ochako, I bet Midoriya didn’t notice what it said.” She smiled, attempting to comfort her friend.
“Ah, yea, that must be it..,” Ochako mumbled. “Um, I think I might go to bed,” She just wanted to go hide under the covers for a couple years. Standing up, she made her way over to the staircase.
“Night, Ochako~” Mina cooed, waving as her friend parted away, clumsily climbing the steps. The pink girl turned away, snickering slightly as she joined into the conversation between some of the boys.
In her room, Ochako sat against with her back against the bed, heart faltering and hands shaking as she popped the Sweet Tarts she had been gifted into her mouth. She read each one, her heart clenching every time. “Love you, My girl, Be mine, Hug me, Real love, Cutie Pie...” They all her a sweet sensation.
Bonus:
Izuku came bounding down the stairs and into the common area, finding a place on the floor. “Where’s Uraraka?” He asked, which produced a snicker from Mina that went unquestioned.
“She went to bed,” Tsuyu answered, her hands wrapped around a bottle of water. Izuku frowned, but quickly shook it off, tuning into the most lively conversation.
It consisted of Denki screaming in pain after eating the terribly sour things he had bought earlier that day. “WATER, WATER!” He shouted, running to the kitchen. Hanta laughed, tossing one of the Warheads into his mouth, questioning what the ‘big deal’ was. Until he himself was sent running for a drink.
“Idiots,” Katsuki growled, eating a handful of Pop Rocks. As they crackled in his mouth he scrutinized the other teens, “Don’t buy it if ya can’t handle it.”
Izuku glanced up at the ash-blonde seated on one of the couches. “Hey, Kacchan? Make sure not to drink any soda with those, it’ll upset your stoma...” He trailed off after the explosive teen sent him a poisonous glare.
Yanking the already open can from Eijirou’s hands, Katsuki tipped his head back and took a swig of the carbonated liquid. “Don’t tell me what to do, nerd.”
Notes: I’m back from my trip! Here’s just a (long) drabble that I decided to write while I was away! Pretty simple and sweet, so nothing too special, but I still enjoyed writing it. Well, thank you so much for reading, your opinions on it would be very appreciated! Have a great day, and eat and drink plenty! <3
(Also, thank you for the idea @jaychance-aka-controlbreakers! <3 It was super cute!)

Hey, I actually managed to write a new fanfic for y’all! It’s the second MHA fic I wrote (the first being a Toko and Dark one-shot back in June), and this time, it’s on one of my favorite OTPs :)!
A cute, simple Tokotsuyu one-shot I wrote that it pretty long but the experience in reading it might be a good one for any of you if your interested. If there is anything that feels off, please let me know. I don’t mind any criticism since I’m still learning to do better with my fanfics, as long as if the criticisms are not embarrassments or anything there off.
If you don’t want to read it here, then read it on FFN or AO3!
(FFN | AO3)
Enjoy :)
Overnight
Nighttime had slowly approached the school.
It was calm, peaceful, and even a bit cool outside. Not even a single villain attack in sight. A relief to most of the students and teachers.
It was already time for bed for most of the students. Bakugo decided to sleep early before all of them, seeing how he had a pretty crappy day. Nobody knows why so they decided to at least do the same as well so he wouldn’t be disturbed by them outside.
So far, things were normal as usual. The students freshened themselves, put on their best pajamas, and head over to their rooms to sleep or do a few other things...
12:45 A.M. on the clock. Everyone was still asleep.
Except for only one.
It was no secret that Tokoyami was a night owl. Most of the time, it happens mainly due to his quirk Dark Shadow acting up during the night. Not to mention having nightmares to top it off. This happens to him every night since he was a young boy, but thankfully it didn’t happen all the time. When it occurs, he would sometimes calm himself by drinking warm tea or listen to soft music.
Nowadays, he has been slowly getting a bit better from his routine. Sometimes he would read his favorite book and poems and even study late at night a few times. Recently, he’s been doing his best to catch up on his favorite horror anime on the streaming sites.
He had been doing it at this hour, binging to catch up with the recent episode. Dark Shadow would join him in a few occasions, eager to watch what was going to happen.
Right now, the two of them were on the bed, watching an episode from the laptop. Tokoyami was laying sideways with his pillow holding onto his head while having one of his arms rest on his waist. Dark was right behind him, his head on his host’s neck just to snuggle on it for a bit. They did also had at least one or two snacks with them, consisting of apple slices and chips they brought at the small market. The volume was lowered so that nobody from outside would hear them. Tokoyami was going to watch it with his headphones on, but since Dark wanted to watch too, he had no choice.
He want to at least watch the recent episode next, but it was getting late for him anyway. Not to mention, he started to make a yawn. It’s becoming a little too much now.
When the credits rolled, he soon shifted himself up into a sitting position and moved the laptop to his upper thighs. “Well then, I guess we could end it here for tonight...” he said softly, exiting the page before closing the tab.
This made Dark Shadow jump up in surprise. “W-what!? Oh come on! Please? Can we at least continue!? Besides, it’s Saturday right now! It doesn’t even matter!”
Tokoyami sighed. “Although I do wish we could, unfortunately we have wasted 5 hours of our curfew so far. Just give it a rest.”
“But we haven’t made it to the new episode yet! Just a lil’ peek!?”
“I said no, Dark Shadow.” Tokoyami said, his voice getting a bit tense out of irritation.
Suddenly, Dark Shadow managed to make a cute pout to at least make him change his mind.
It did.
“Very well, I guess we could watch one more.” His host smiled a little. His quirk would never say no sometimes. “But first, I need something from the kitchen.”
Dark Shadow smiled in anticipation. “Can we get more of those chips!?”
“You literally ate the entire bag we’ve gotten while I only took some.”
“That’s because I was hungry!”
“Of course you were...”
The way to the kitchen wasn’t that long. Tokoyami does rest in the second floor so it’s simple for him to reach the first floor. Walking through the hallways, he noticed how silent and dark it was, but rather dim due to the small lamps. He could still hear a few snoring from inside his dorm mates’ rooms. Taking the elevator, he reached down to the main floor.
He certainly does not want to be caught by Mr. Aizawa or the other teachers roaming around in the hallways. He, along with a few students, have been lucky to succeed in that feat. But for now, it was best to stay low until the coast was clear…
Once the elevator doors opened, he exits himself into his needed location.
The main room was peaceful for the most part. Though it felt a bit eerie due to it being in deep silence. There were a few lamps on, especially the television for some reason, as it was slightly muted. Someone must have forgot to turn it off. Aside from that, it didn’t really scared Tokoyami that much. He reached over to the coffee table where the remote was laying as he turned off the TV before making his way to the kitchen.
“Sooo, what do you even want anyway?” Dark Shadow asked him, peaking out from behind a bit.
“I just needed a water bottle, that’s all.” Tokoyami answered.
“Then can I still have those chips from the pantry?”
The teenage goth sighed. “No, Dark Shadow. Remember, we cannot waste more of the snacks like that. I’ll get you one of the apples stored in the fridge instead.”
“What if I have a slice of those apple tarts instead?”
“You know those are for Sato, right?”
“Well this is coming from the guy who sneaked in for a slice the other time.”
This caused his host to wince in embarrassment as he snickered for a bit. “I-I said not to mention that again!” He cried, his voice slightly loud than before. “You even almost revealed it to everyone!”
“Yeah I know. The look on their faces when they thought you stole it was priceless!” The shadow demon laughed again.
“Oh silence you, or else I’ll get the matches.” Tokoyami threatened softly. He almost wished that his quirk didn’t talk at all.
They then ceased themselves for a moment as they made their way to the kitchen. But as Tokoyami made it to the entrance, he nearly gasped.
There, standing inside the kitchen, was Tsuyu, who had opened the fridge to get something. She hadn’t seen him yet and Tokoyami at least hope she didn’t. It would be a bit embarrassing for him.
It was an odd secret that he actually harbored a crush on her.
This all started when he saw her during the school’s entrance exam, and introduced himself a bit to her during the official first day. But while Tsuyu was fairly sociable, he wasn’t that much at all. This means that he wasn’t able to properly talk with her for a while until the final exams, where he managed to get full interaction with her. After that, he soon started to bond with her a bit more, going out together with their friends or helping her study with literature assignments.
But while it was good for Tokoyami, he cannot contain his flustered emotions everytime he gets close to her.
He didn’t really talked to her from all week, wanting to at least plan on how to properly see her again.
But now, this was a bad time.
He was standing right at the entrance while she has her back turn. Why must she be this cute? With her cute hair, her cute frog pajamas, her cute shorts, her cute slippers, her cute butt—
“Ribbit?”
He immediately froze once she turned around.
Once she did though, she soon sees him by the entrance, causing him to blush.
This stayed like this for about ten seconds. The crow-headed boy didn’t even know what to say, he was too embarrassed to say anything…
‘Go on! Say somethin’ to her!’ He heard Dark Shadow in his thoughts.
‘Well, what do you suppose I should do?’ Tokoyami shouted at him, getting mildly annoyed.
Before he heard him answer, he heard his crush calling out to him. “Tokoyami-chan?”
He went back to reality to face her. It was only now or never. He cannot mess this up so pathetically.
“G-good evening, Tsuyu-chan...” He finally spoke up, at least stuttering for a bit. “What brings you here at this time of night?”
“Oh,” Tsuyu picked up something from inside the fridge as she showed it to him. “I was just getting some gelatin for a midnight snack.” She answered, giggling a little while getting a plastic spoon.
“Ah, I see.” Tokoyami said. He has to note that for another time when going out with her. “I just came here to get some water.”
The frog hybrid looked at him after getting the spoon. “You aren’t able to sleep?”
“Y-you could say that. But it’s not that serious this time.” He then walked inside to get to the fridge. “The last few nights were rather calming enough for me and Dark Shadow...” While looking for the water bottles, he thought about something before asking her. “You have trouble sleeping as well?”
“Mm, not really, ribbit.” He heard her answer from behind. “Sometimes, I would get a few weird dreams, and other times, I would think about my family...”
“I understand.” He nodded slightly, lowering his head a little. “I miss mines as well...” He said softly before reaching one of the bottles. “But you shouldn’t have to feel depressed as much. You still reach out to them?”
“Of course. They would usually call me if everything’s alright. What about your parents?”
Tokoyami’s eyes widened a little from that question. He wasn’t able to call them all week. He needed to remind himself to call them tomorrow. He was sure that his family are worried about him. So instead, he made a slight lie. “T-they’re doing fine...” Tokoyami soon got out of the fridge and headed towards the shelves. He knew that he has to get more chips in order to avoid Dark’s whining.
“So, why are you up tonight, ribbit?” Tsuyu asked him, already taking a bite off her gelatin snack.
“I-I wasn’t doing anything in particular...” He said, blushing slightly. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to tell her about his little binge-watching time. She might be too tired from that.
However, his thoughts were interrupted by a certain shadow demon coming out from his back to reach the cabinets. “Man, you really should loosen up sometimes...” After receiving his favorite chips, he turned to Tsuyu and made a friendly wave. “Aiyo, Tsu-chan!”
This made Tsuyu’s cheeks pink as she giggled. “Hello, Lil’ Shadow.” She watched him lower down to her as she rubbed his head affectionately.
Tokoyami blushed for a bit while making a small smile at the moment. Seeing Dark Shadow interact with his friends or family in general was fairly normal, but he actually finds it amusing to find some people liking his living quirk.
“You still didn’t answer my question, ribbit.” Tsuyu said, eyeing on Dark while rubbing his head. “What were you doing during the night?”
“Oh. Well, I was actually watching an anime that is a favorite of mine.” Tokoyami finally answered, trying not to look away from her.
“Really? What is it about?”
“A story of a group of normal civilians being turned into vampires during the Middle Ages.” The goth teen smiled a little. “Truly an engaging watch.”
“That sounds cool, ribbit.” Tsuyu smiled, not noticing the small blush on her friend’s face. “I’m not surprised that you’re into vampires too.”
“W-why yes…” Tokoyami stuttered again, looking away a little. “They’re actually one of my favorite monsters.”
He didn’t really know what else to say at this point.
He would at least talk more about their lives at the moment, their hobbies, or whatever, but he was too nervous to say anything. If he went and blabbered something to her, it would be nervous gibberish. It was best to maybe end it here and go back upstairs until he turned to look at Dark Shadow at the moment. While his crush wasn’t looking, he made a little sly smile when looking at his host.
By the looks of it, he definitely knew what he was going to say.
“Hey, Tsu-chan, you should watch it with us!” He told Tsuyu as Tokoyami instantly blushed.
“Ribbit?” The frog girl wondered.
An embarrassed Tokoyami immediately reeled Dark Shadow back inside of him once he shook his head. “Let me please rephrase what he said.” He cleared his throat. “I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind spending time watching the show with me…t-that is if you are in need of more rest.”
He waited patiently for her answer as she smiled rather cutely. “Okay.”
Her friend made a small blush. He was instantly forming shades of red at this point. “Are you sure you won’t mind?”
“Not at all, ribbit.” Tsuyu said. “I don’t actually feel tired right now, so I don’t mind watching an episode with you. Have you caught up with the series?”
Okay, so this might go smoothly. “I’m actually up to the second season at this point. I have yet to watch the episode that had just came out.”
“I actually didn’t see it yet. So I guess it’s fine to watch it with you, ribbit.”
“Then I suppose that we should go bac—“ Tokoyami was going to finish until Tsuyu interrupted him.
“Wait,” He turned to her, who looked shy for a bit. “Is it okay if we can watch it in your room?”
Tokoyami felt like he couldn’t move from where he’s standing.
His room? His room that is completely decorated with everything a goth person would ever dreamed of? Was she really honest of wanting to enter in there?
I mean, he’s not a complete jerk, but he doesn’t feel comfortable of his classmates entering his room, aside from Shouji, Koda, Jirou, and sometimes Izuku. Everyone else? It would just be embarrassing. He took note of this ever since the dorm room competition happened. It was a night in which he wished to forget.
He was about to ask her why before she explained. “It’s because my room is pretty messy at the moment and I have to clean it up. I know you’re still unsure of everyone entering your room because of the contest, but I won’t judge you, ribbit.” She gave him a reassuring smile. “I bet it’s really cool just like how you are.” She even made a slight, pink blush.
Tokoyami felt rather nervous but appreciated of that sentence. He just didn’t know what to say. “I-I appreciate it. If it’s really what you want, then I would accept it.”
“You’re welcome, Toko-chan.” Tokoyami just stared at her for a moment. Lord above is she so cute…
Tsuyu then decided to leave the kitchen first right before throwing the gelatin cup away. She made a quick glance at her friend, making a small croak.
If Tokoyami wanted this moment with his destined lover to be perfect, then he must put his best effort into it.
Otherwise, it would be deemed as a failure.
He soon followed her as the two of them walked by the hallways together. While walking, Tokoyami soon heard Dark Shadow’s voice.
‘You’re welcome, by the way.’ He said, snickering for a bit.
‘I am not sure if I should thank you or hate you for this...’ His host responded in his head.
‘Oh trust me, you will!’
He just hoped to the gods above that Dark Shadow wouldn’t dare not to ruin this chance.
Once they entered the elevator, Tokoyami and Tsuyu waited for a bit once they were levitated up.
The crow headed boy kept his thoughts to himself at the moment before looking at his crush, and then at one of her hands.
He was close by her, so maybe he could hold her hand?
It’s not like he never did this before. He had done it with her on several occasions when they were out with friends. But that was it. It was more of a friendly thing than a romantic one.
So, maybe this time, one wouldn’t hurt? Would she even mind at all?
He was starting to feel nervous by what he was doing, but he shouldn’t be. It’s just hand holding, nothing too intimate…
While she wasn’t looking, he slowly moves his hand out to catch hers.
Gently.
Gently…
Almost there…
A loud chime was heard as the two have reached their destination.
Tokoyami mentally cursed himself for not being given a chance. Probably the next moment he might get it. Maybe he could at least talk to her for a bit? I mean, he did had thoughts about her entering his room, for certain reasons.
“T-Tsu-chan,” ‘Goodness that was so hard to say…’ “I was wondering if you are really certain of going into my room. I don’t want any of the teachers or our classmates seeing us in this position.” He said, stuttering a bit while blushing.
“It’s alright, ribbit.” Tsuyu answered. “I’m sure nobody would be able know that we’re still up. Besides, it’s just nice to spend more time with you.”
This made her friend a bit flustered, but soon regained his normal stance. “I suppose that is fair. I-I do apologize for not speaking to you in a while.”
“It’s okay. You had to study for assignments, ribbit?”
“Hmm.”
Finally, they have made it to the door.
Tokoyami felt like quivering with worry. He wouldn’t mind letting her in his room, but he was still unsure of her reaction. Would she like it? Would she be disgusted at it? It was up to fate to decide what to do…
Grasping his hand on the doorknob, he slowly opened it, allowing Tsuyu to enter first. “T-this is what my room looks like...” he stuttered.
His crush came inside to look and was a little surprised.
Most of the room was dark, minus a few lamps of candles shining inside. Every item inside was like a goth’s collection. The posters, the hanged coats, the chair, the strange-looking dear skull, and that sword. She didn’t know what to say, but she knew Tokoyami too well.
“Wow...”
Tokoyami moved away from her a bit, moving his head down. “I understand if it’s a bit too much, but...” He was too embarrassed to say anything.
But then, he heard her spoke. “I think it looks really cool.”
“E-eh…?”
Tsuyu walked a bit further inside, admiring how it looks. “I really like how much you put into this room, ribbit. How long did you had to renovate this?”
“It actually took me about an hour...” Okay, at least she loves the room. Tokoyami made a sigh of relief.
But that was immediately ruined when Dark Shadow appeared. “He even did the same to his own bathroom!” He encouraged Tsuyu to come inside while opening the bathroom door.
“Dark Shado—“
It was too late once she took a peek inside. It was a bit more lighter than the main room, due to the purple lamps on the walls. The walls were painted black and his tub had a few candles around it.
“It looks kinda relaxing. You must have done a good job in fixing your dorm, ribbit.” Tsuyu complimented. She didn’t really wanted to look at it, but her interests were peeked.
This caused Tokoyami to once again blush lightly. Thankfully, she wasn’t able to spot it due to the room being dark. “Thank you.” He then cleared his throat. “Well then, since you are here, you could make yourself comfortable while I set up the episode. Would it be alright for me to set up more lights in here?”
His crush shook her head. “No need, but I have to wonder how you can manage sleeping like this, ribbit. Wouldn’t Lil’ Shadow be ok in something like this.”
Tokoyami nodded as he sat on his chair for a bit. “It’s actually not that hazardous...” He moved it up to reach for his laptop as he began his business. “As long as there is enough lights inside, then there is nothing to worry at the moment.” He then forgot to ask her something. “Ah, where are my manners? Where would you like to sit? I believe I have some cushions stored inside my closet...”
Tsuyu looked at his bed for a minute. “I could sit on your bed if that’s alright.”
That nearly made him faint. “I-if it’s what you want, be my guest.”
With her permission granted, she gently got into the bed and admired how strangely comfortable it is, almost like her own bed. She couldn’t help but rub her hands on the feathery, black blankets. She soon noticed a familiar item from her left. A little night light that looked like a white skull plugged in. “Ribbit? Isn’t that the night light I gave you before?”
“Why yes.” Tokoyami soon got up with his laptop and went over to his bed. A-adorable...even laying on my own bed she is so innocent-like…
“Hey, are you gonna keep staring or are you gonna play the video?” Dark Shadow spoke up, growing impatient.
“I will, don’t mention that so loudly.” He whispered to the shadow demon as he heard him snicker. He really hoped that he won’t interfere…
He walked close to the bed as he faced Tsuyu. “Do you want me to hold the laptop?” “I could hold it actually.” She folded her legs together while sitting before receiving the laptop which showed the video. “Where are you going to be, ribbit?”
“I will probably be in the bed as well, beside you.” He said, feeling a bit tense when thinking about it.
Tsuyu moved for a bit rather cutely, so give him some space. “You can jump in.”
Feeling ready, Tokoyami gently got in the bed, deciding to lay down behind Tsuyu. He reached his head on the pillows and moved a bit so he could see the video. He was the exact position as he was from before, and he didn’t mind it. It was actually relaxing.
He watched silently once Tsuyu pressed play and watched the episode. He could tell that she would enjoy it. She was just too cute sitting like that. Too much for his black heart…
He soon heard her ask him. “So this is how the episode starts off?”
“Yes. They would give out a flashback as to how the vampire spread came to be.” He nodded. “One of the intriguing arcs so far.”
“That sounds pretty cool, ribbit.”
Tokoyami can’t help but smile a little while watching her. He felt something moving from his back as Dark Shadow popped out and rested on Toko’s shoulder to watch the video as well. He was still tensed that he would be saying something embarrassing in front of his host, but so far, he was calm as well.
In fact, he was grateful that this evening was calm, despite some minor issues.
He soon felt something once again as he sees Tsuyu moving down to him, giving him a rather cute giggle.
He responded with a small blush as he attempted to brush it off.
But for some reason, he felt a bit tired. He doesn’t wanna sleep yet. He has to watch the episode with Tsuyu to guide her…
One minute in, and his world became pitch black.
“Tokoyami-chan?”
Tokoyami soon woke up from his slumber after hearing Tsuyu’s voice. Rubbing his eyelids, he gained some vision and looked over his alarm clock.
1:41 A.M.
That’s how long he was out for? 20 minutes?
“Are you feeling alright? I just finished watching the episode, ribbit.” Tsuyu said as she got up to put the laptop away.
Toko hummed in response as he sat up on his bed. He still feels tired, but is at least gaining some energy to wake up for a moment. He watched her laid it on his desk before walking back to him.
She sat down beside him as she started a conversation. “I was actually going to wake you before, but I noticed that you needed a little rest, ribbit.”
“Ah, as I noticed.” Tokoyami said, turning away slightly. “I want to know, how was the episode?”
Tsuyu smiled. “It was actually pretty good. I actually managed to watch the first two, so I’ll binge on the rest maybe tomorrow.”
This caused the goth teen to smile back, though of course, it was small. “I am glad to hear that. It does get more interesting during the rest of the season. I would suggest if you could watch it with me...” He blushed. “I do not want you to feel scared while viewing.” He lightly stuttered.
“Eh, it’s okay, ribbit.” Tsuyu responded. “It wasn’t that scary actually...” She then looked at the clock “It’s actually getting pretty late, so I should head back. Unless...”
Tokoyami remained silent, wondering what she was about to say.
“Would it be fine if I sleep in here with you?”
His face became red once she asked him. He was too speechless to say anything.
Sleeping with Tsuyu? Together!? In his own room of all places!?
“I mean, I don’t mean it that way of course.” He heard her continue. “It’s just that since I don’t feel like going back all the way to my room, I guess it’s fine to sleep in here, ribbit. Are you okay with that?”
“I-I...” Tokoyami got out of his trance and tries his best to respond. “I-if it’s what you want, then fair enough. My only concern is that we might be caught by someone. But I’m sure that might not be the case...”
Tsuyu made a smile. “Ribbit, thank you Tokoyami.”
Her smile...too precious… He thought to himself, trying to rid of his blush.
“Do you have like a sleeping bag or something for me to sleep on?”
He then remembered the cushions as he winced. “Unfortunately, I do not have any at the moment so you might have to...t-to sleep on my bed...” Tokoyami was this close to losing himself. He cursed in his head for not getting any cushions in case of something like this happening.
Tsuyu on the other hand made a blush. She was a little nervous of sharing a bed with her friend. But then again, Tokoyami wasn’t something like a certain rat. He was respectful of her without any signs of perversion. While she would be slightly careful, she was completely certain that it would be fine for the both of them.
So, she spoke up. “i don’t mind sleeping with you.”
And now, he was slowly heating up. “G-good.” He coughed a little, shivering about what he’s going to do. “I-I’ll need to use the bath first. I won’t be long.”
“Okay, ribbit.”
The goth teen went straight into his bathroom to clear his head. He turned on the lights, wanting to wash his face and not loose his head, but a quick leak would be fine too.
After doing his business, he rubbed his face over his towel. “Lords above, what have I just done?” He moaned in distress.
Dark Shadow appeared from behind him, grinning. “You just invited a girl to sleep with you, that’s what!” He said in amusement.
This really didn’t made his host better. Goodness, he was lighting up so much lately. “You are clearly not making this better, Dark Shadow...” He rubbed his eyes in annoyance.
“Well, you know this could be the right time to tell her you know!”
“Ah!” He gasped before turning away. “I simply cannot. It’s just not the right to do so.”
“Oh come on! You’ve been with her for what!? A year I guess!? It’s the perfect time anyway!”
“Don’t speak too loud!” Toko hissed at him in a whisper.
Dark rolled his eyes. “Whatever. Just put on your big boy pants and do what you gotta do. Oh, and if you monologue while trying to confess, I will tell her before you do~!” He said teasingly.
Toko scoffed. “As if you would.” He watched his quirk go back inside him, snickering. He then sighed as he exited the bathroom.
He hoped to god that things will go well.
As he exited, he returned to his room and spotted Tsuyu sitting in his bed while being covered a little with the sheets. She was just too adorable. He couldn’t take it, but he must be at least confident.
“There you are. I was getting kind of worried, ribbit.” She said to him.
Toko tugged his arm once he walked up to her. “My apologies. I had to freshen up before my slumber.”
She nodded. “That’s alright, I understand.” She moved over to make some room. “Are you ready to go in, ribbit? Or do you want to do it the other way?”
“T-the other way, if your must.” He couldn’t look at her a little.
Tsuyu then got up and allowed Tokoyami to enter his bed first. He slowly got in, covering his body with the feathery sheet. He relaxed a little, admiring his bed’s own softness, he felt the bed getting heavier once he watched his crush coming in next to him.
As she got on the bed, she soon took a look at the bird-headed boy as he did the same.
It has been at least thirty seconds filled with silence, and the two of them stared at each other awkwardly, slowly blushing over what to do next. They would at least prepare to sleep, but they thought of maybe at least having another conversation. Tokoyami felt his body getting flushed by the second, while Tsuyu moved her fingertips to her lips. This was starting to get embarrassing.
After staring , the two turned away, not sure when to look at the other.
Suddenly, Tsuyu finally broke the silence. “So, how are you feeling, ribbit?”
Tokoyami gulped slightly and answered. “I am doing well, actually...” Feeling like it, he moved his head to face her. “I do apologize again for not having any cushions with me. I do not meant for you to feel this way.”
The frog girl turned back to see him. “It’s okay, I actually don’t mind it like this.” She then smiled. “I rather be close to you, ribbit.” She giggled lightly.
Goodness… Tokoyami simply hummed in response. He was trying to come up with something else to say.
“You know,  I’m actually really glad that you get to be one of my best friends, ribbit. You seem like a level-headed guy and yet, you’re actually really sweet. And I appreciate that.”
He watched her giggle as he was taken back by that compliment. Being told a sweet, caring person, not only from his family but from the girl he likes, feels so good to him. It just feels...good.
“Even after the finals when we paired up, you didn’t mind if I wanted to spend time with me or help me study. For a guy who claims to be a calm, serious guy, you’re actually a good person to be around with, ribbit.”
This.
This seriously killed his heart.
All of the compliments she’s giving him was too much, but then again, he adores it deep inside himself. He doesn’t want to say anything as he wants to think of something, but he feels the need to respond. He clenched the top of his shirt as he gasped, nearly startling the frog girl. He made a small chuckle.
“You do not need to say that about me...” He said, moving his eyes towards his hooded jackets. “I feel like it’s personally ruining my image.”
Tsuyu gave him a playful pat. “Well, I actually find you cute, ribbit~.”
Tokoyami blushed and tried to contain a chuckle. “You, as well...” He placed his hand over his beak. Did he just said that in front of her?
Now Tsuyu was the one who was taken back, making a small croak while slightly turning away.
“W-wait!” He sat up from the bed, clearing his throat. “I meant to clarify that I...”
“You don’t need to be afraid, ribbit.” She managed to laugh a little. “But I appreciate what you said.” She blushed while looking at him.
Tokoyami took a moment to look at the clock.
1:50 A.M.
Now it was getting more later than before.
Is it that time to tell her about his secret? It might not be the appropriate moment to do so, since it is already a few hours past their curfew. Not to mention, he and Tsuyu were getting a bit tired. But then again, Dark Shadow did mentioned that it’s a moment not to waste. He wasn’t even sure how to confess! Should he just say it the simple way with three words or his way in all of his poetic tone? It was a difficult decision, he could feel that it was already ten seconds passed. Knowing what to do, he made a soft sigh.
This was it…
“Tsuyu...” He began. “T-there is something I have to tell you.”
His crush’s eyes widened a little as she sat up as well. “What is it? Is something wrong?”
It was now or never…
Taking a deep breath, he continued. “...Ever since I have entered U.A., I had kept an aura of darkness deep inside my heart. And while I did encountered a few positive events, it was not enough to change that. That is, until I encountered a pillar of light which shines though my aura.” He clenched his chest when his heart was beating from being so nervous. “This light has led me into a path of goodwill and kindness, making me feel so much of it’s warm positivity. If this had never happened, I would have never went through that route...” He then faced her, his beak getting red. “And the one who helped me through was you, Tsuyu...”
“Tokoyami-chan...” Tsuyu’s cheeks became red over his speech.
“That is what caused me to develop these emotional thoughts of you. You showed me how to not shy away from  others with such friendliness, I don’t even know how to properly thank you.” He continued. “I’ve been building up such ways to say this, wondering how to put this in the right time… That is why, I shall speak out the honest truth to you in my heart...I...I-I...” Tokoyami started to stammer, not knowing how to finish.
‘Oh come on! Just say it already!’ Dark Shadow shouted in his thoughts.
He panted a little before he finally spilled. “I love you!” He cried, not to loud to wake his fellow roommates.
Everything in the room became silent. Too silent.
The goth teen had to relax himself for a moment. He actually did well with his confession, but he doesn’t know how she reacted. He slowly turned to her, seeing her surprised by this revelation, nearly quivering her mouth. She didn’t know what else to say.
He waited for her to respond but then he realized. Maybe, it might have been too late for him…
“I-I see...” He lowered his head. “I understand that maybe you do not share the feelings I have. Whatever reason it may be, I will accept it...” He chuckled sadly. “I guess it was foolish of me to…” A slight pause came from him, he decided to stop from there.
“Wait, Tokoyami-chan!” Tsuyu called out, touching his shoulder. She watched him turn back in confusion. Once he did so, she moved her head closer to his and set a kiss on his cheeks. “I love you too.”
Tokoyami gasped by what just happened.
Tsuyu actually likes him.
Tsuyu actually likes him.
And she kissed him...on the cheek!
He could hear Dark Shadow laughing excitedly from this. Tokoyami made a small chuckle of relief, rubbing his eyelids for a moment. “So it seems that you do share the same way...” He said softly.
Tsuyu giggled and held him closer to her. “Of course I do, ribbit.” She nuzzled on his head rather cutely. “I wouldn’t really turn you down like that, silly.”
“It is so amazing. How can you ever love someone like me? A person who’s shrouded in darkness?”
“I told you already. You’re just a sweet caring guy underneath.”
“Tell me though, when did you realize that you had developed feelings for me?” Tokoyami asked her, guessing that it might have been during the final exams where they had the most encounter.
Tsuyu moved a finger to her chin, trying to remember. “I think...I think it was actually the sports festival.” She smiled at that memory.
He was surprised to hear her answer. “How so?”
“I mean, I really loved the way of how you were so calm throughout the games. Being so smart and level-headed, I thought you were cool out there. But I was disappointed that you lost to Bakugou.” Tsuyu explained, almost frowning at her last sentence.
Tokoyami made a smile. “Well, I knew too well that I was going to lose to him, given the complete advantage against my quirk. But being third place isn’t that bad of a position.”
“Now how did you got a crush on me?”
“I actually developed my feelings when I first entered the school.”
“Really?”
He hummed in response before continuing. “While we did introduced ourselves for a little while, I was certainly impressed by your efforts during our training.  I did felt worried about you and the others when the villains attacked, but heard that you defended yourself against them.” He closed his eyes, making a small smile. “I am sure that you will be considered a great hero in the future, I believe so. That is one of the many things for why I adore you.”
“Thank you, Toko-chan.” Tsuyu croaked happily, smiling while her cheeks were pink.
Tokoyami did the same as well. Her smile was something he also admired from her.
“Yep. And he also loves your butt too!” Dark Shadow appeared, ruining their peaceful moment.
And this is where Tokoyami’s sudden anger is released.
“Dark Shadow…!” He growled, attempted to put him back inside of him. Reaching for the flashlight was enough to send him back in. He quickly turned back to Tsuyu. “I am sorry for that outburst of his! What he just said was not true!” He stuttered, his face getting red by the second. How dare he tell her about his own secrets in front of him?
Tsuyu blushed before laughing again. “If that’s true, then I’ll accept it, ribbit.”
Tokoyami sighed in relief. He’ll deal with Dark Shadow later.
For now, he laid his back against the wall as Tsuyu scooted over to snuggle next to him. The two relaxed themselves as they leaned on each other comfortably while getting used to the silence in the room. A minute later Tsuyu spoke up.
“So, does this means that we’re a couple now, ribbit?” She asked her new boyfriend.
Tokoyami thought for a moment before answering. “If so, then of course. However, I wish not to tell any of our fellow classmates about this event.”
Tsu tilted her head. “How come?”
“Then I’m sure they would bombard us with questions we might not be able to answer, especially from Ashido and Hagakure.” He nearly shivered at that thought.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine. Besides, they are our friends of course so they would give us privacy.”
Checking the clock again, Toko stretched his arms for a bit, allowing Tsu to stare at a bit of his biceps. “As much as I would love to continue, time has unfortunately made us endure our conversation. Perhaps tomorrow would be fine enough...”
“Toko-chan...” His girlfriend stopped him from laying down.
This caused him to sit back up and look at her. “Yes, my dear?”
She flustered for a bit. “C-can I kiss you?”
Tokoyami’s eyes wide as he started to blush. “I do not mind at all, but I must let you know. My beak is nothing ordinary from a normal bird’s. It is actually rather soft to k...k-kiss it.”
“Are you feeling nervous, ribbit?”
“That is false. I am just making sure that I would perfect my first kiss...”
His new girlfriend made a giggle as she held both of his shoulders, pulling him a little close to her own face. “It’s kinda easy, ribbit. Don’t worry, I’m sure it won’t be that bad.”
He was still nervous, but he at least built up some courage to make this moment count. He hold onto the waist of her own stomach and looked straight into her eyes. He moved one of his hands to touch her cheek to get a good close up of her. Her face was so soft and angelic, he could even spot her lips being somewhat of a light pink color. It was simply cute.
Positioning himself, he closed his eyes and pressed his beak to her lips, hoping that it won’t stick them. Thankfully, Tsuyu didn’t felt something pointing out as all she could feel was his soft warm lips.
The two of them locked lips for a bit, slightly moaning over the sensation. Tokoyami had never thought of what a kiss would feel like, and now that he’s having his first one, it was definitely worth it.
They finally stopped, catching their breaths for a bit while smiling at each other.
“So how was it?” Tsuyu asked teasingly.
“It was wonderful, my dear.” Tokoyami finally felt a lot better after experiencing that.
Tsuyu chuckled and placed another kiss on his cheek. “Maybe in the morning, I could make you some breakfast, ribbit. Before everyone else comes in.”
“I rather you and I could make some together. It would be such a delightful blend to our own meals.”
She nodded. “I don’t mind that at all. Also, is it alright to call you by first name?”
“Fumikage is alright.”
“What about Fumi-chan~?”
This caused him to blush. “M-maybe when we are alone.”
He heard her make a small laugh as he smiled back. He then laid down on his back, resting his head on his pillow while pulling up the blanket. He shyly motioned his new lover to rest with him as she agreed in silence. She gently got on top of him as she moved her head on his upper chest. She can’t help but giggle when she felt it, making her boyfriend blush.
“So you did manage to work out.” Tsuyu decided to tease him for a bit. “Can I get to see it, ribbit?”
Tokoyami moved his head away, trying to stop blushing. “I will think about it...” He doesn’t want to start making out too early. Perhaps at the right time, he will.
Tsuyu laughed lightly before kissing his beak. “I love you, Fumi~.”
Tokoyami smiled once more and shared another kiss. “I love you too, my dearest...” He whispered.
The two then cuddled together as they finally went to sleep.
Tokoyami wasn’t sure how this sudden change will continue, but for now, he was clearly happy to finally connect with the one he loves.
And to this day, there was no dark aura in his heart…
During the night, while the newly-formed couple were still sleeping, Dark Shadow appeared from Tokoyami’s back, staring at the two.
“Well, it’s about time.” He whispered, actually happy for Tokoyami.
He decided to rest too before an idea popped in his head. He grinned sneakily at what he was planning as he grabbed one of his host’s hands resting on Tsuyu’s hair. He carefully moved it down all the way to where her backside was and let it touch there.
Once his mission was done, he snickered quietly before returning to his host.
Tokoyami will definitely thank him later.
