Since I am the biggest safe haven Stan alive i reread the whole thing and I don’t know if it’s placebo but somehow it’s better than before even tho it already was the best fic ever before you edited it!
awww, plssss.
i don't think it's placebo, i think this version is objectively much MUCH better than the first one. i reworked practically every sentence and imo it just flows so much better now.
i'm really really happy you enjoyed this 💜 and thank you for telling me, it truly means the world to me.

i think what hits most about nobara's backstory is everything that's left unsaid and peaks from between the lines. it's the fact you can easily infer that something was wrong without ever having clear answers on what exactly was wrong. but if you can relate to the feeling of wanting to escape a place and the alienation from everyone around you, especially when you're brought up in small communities, then you can certainly understand, if not fully then partially, nobara herself and the struggles she might have had to face all by herself for a very long time; maybe even the importance fumi and saori had in her life and the pain from having to part from them; and, perhaps the selectiveness in letting people in that she later on develops as well.

actually I'm gonna make one more post because I am insufferable and also just full of Thoughts that I cannot keep contained but I think the biggest difference between molly and laudna's deaths is that the bells hells all care about each other, at this point.
which is not to say that the mighty nein did not, but rather that to that point I don't believe any of them had really allowed for that care to be loud and known. the mighty nein is made up of characters who were all rejected from the world and who met each other when they were all in a place of beginning to reject the world back (with the caveat of perhaps jester, their throughline heart and soul). it's a massive part of what makes their acceptance and love of each other so moving and believable. the mighty nein did not instantly love and trust one another, they started with what they all knew best—varying levels of rejection and mistrust.
bells hells though. they are not made up of those same rejected, mistrusting people. this is actually the first campaign—to my immediate knowledge—that every character was introduced as a part of a long established pair or trio (with the exception of chetney, whose age and experience make him somewhat of an outlier in this comparison altogether). laudna and imogen have known each other for two and a half years, FCG and Ashton a handful of months, and there's a whole spin-off series for orym, fearne, and dorian.
which is to say, even the characters with histories drenched in rejection (imogen, laudna, ashton, FCG) have found and have been with someone who has, at least somewhat, already affected and changed their view of the world. so when they meet, it's not a bunch of assholes who have learned not to trust anyone and who are still carrying that with them when they meet people, who allow their world to be colored by it. it's a bunch of assholes who have already learned that that is definitively not true.
(which is not to say that there are no secrets kept, that there is no tension or inter-party conflict to be had. but is maybe to say that bells hells is made up of much more internal, pvp-style powder kegs than external, developmental powder kegs a la the mighty nein)
it is because of this difference, because it is not nearly so hard for the hells to latch to each other, because they are not nearly so sharp, that these deaths will serve wildly different purposes for these parties.
the hells already care about each other. loudly.
(i would go so far as to say a big part of this story may actually end up being this: people who love, loudly and deeply and irrevocably and immediately, who maybe don't know how to balance it. who while already having been through the process of forgetting and then learning to love again at all, have not learned how to love at a distance. a handful of people incapable of loving in part, even when it's painful)
laudna's death did not teach them anything they didn't already know. their enemies are powerful. the stakes seem impossible. they love each other. they love each other.
laudna's death was this: a group of assholes remember that the world is cruel, and unjust, and unkind. remember that loving and losing go hand-in-hand. the purpose of laudna's death is this: remember that love is worth it regardless. remember that it is worth fighting tooth and nail to bring back.
molly's death was this: a group of assholes refuse and refuse and refuse to care, until they must. until it is unavoidable. until it is threatened. until it is taken. the purpose of molly's death was this: to force the mighty nein to say it. they love each other. they love each other.
and I think that's very important to remember when talking about these two groups and their approach to character death.

I've watched and adored Encanto, Wolfwalkers, Across the Spider-Verse, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. All absolutely incredible animated films that I'm sure will be held up as classics even 20 years from now.
With that said, Nimona is frankly a good step above all of them and my choice for animated film of the decade so far (at least for what I've heard of). An absolutely stellar film on every level. Do yourself a favor and watch it all on YouTube these next few days!
Does it stand a chance at the Oscars? Absolutely not, especially since even the Annies were dominated by Spider-Man. But it would absolutely deserve to. (And again, I adore Spider-Verse and still think it's 100% worthy of the Oscar on its own. It's basically the reverse of the Puss in Boots vs. Pinocchio situation last year. They're both masterpieces, only this time the slightly better masterpiece is almost certainly gonna get left in the cold.)

When I approach Yelan (or anyone else I've written), I don't just look directly at her character, but I also look at her surroundings. Both the ones that she knows by some semblance of necessity, but also those that she chooses. Like here, I talked about the Chasm, and what being 'okay' with existing down there needs to mean for a character, because it's not normal. Someone's surroundings, room, or home say a lot bout who they are and what their mindset, or specifically, their perspective is of the world. And sometimes, I think it says more about people than even the characters realize.
This brings me to the topic of the city of Fontaine. Now, I personally think it's rather obvious that a lot of the nation takes from historical France, and so when looking at it, I think it really adds to remember its monarchy, the view that the 'common folk' had of it, and its inevitable demise to non-existence today in terms of importance as a result. So my first question is, who constructed or decided on its layout? Was it Furina, Neuvillette, Egeria? Whoever it was, there's a lot that can be said about their view of the world and their placement in it when you look at locations of buildings. Look at where Palais Mermonia, its governing body, is located within the city; it sits at a rather astounding elevation in comparison to, well, everything and everyone else in the city. This frequently represents the concept of 'distance' between groups in one way or another, and seeing the consistency in other nations, this is something that is rather intriguing to me, especially keeping Fontaine's characters in mind (and considering this is the nation of 'justice'). Mondstadt has everything almost entirely uniform, with arguably the church on the highest level (but it isn't greatly elevated in comparison to all else), but it's joined with the plaza and statue which are a common gathering site for all people in the city. Liyue had the gods and adepti visibly living among the humans back in the days of the Guili Assembly for reasons of 'integration' (my apologies to numerous from our dear Guizhong!) The fact that numerous adepti now live far outside of the harbor is a different matter entirely, and the one who seems to function within a semblance of separation of sorts is Ningguang with the Jade Chamber (but I'm not one to speak on behalf of her character as I don't bear the knowledge). Inazuma also has the Tenshukaku at a higher elevation in comparison to the rest of Inazuma City. Sumeru is interesting, but ultimately Nahida was kept at the very peak of the city, far out of reach of humanity— but that's exactly the common denominator that has my interest, the distance between the 'governing body' and humanity for one reason or another.
But Fontaine really takes separation to a different level in my opinion (and again, think of this when you think of the person having designed the whole city), not only because of the above which I'll elaborate more on in a moment, but also its separation from the outside world. Now, this is interesting to think about if you keep in mind that it was perhaps done in eventual protection of the city's inhabitants in terms of the prophecy (which means that this would have been constructed anywhere during or after Egeria's reign), but then why is only Palais Mermonia far above the water's reach? If the walls surrounding the city were ever breached during said prophecy, all its inhabitants are pretty much immediately caught in the flood and would drown, which tells me nothing positive of the city's 'architect' or whoever signed off on the designs. But if not done for the prophecy, then why? Stand in the middle of the Court of Fontaine and really look around you, the only sights you really have of the outside world are the sky, and it's obstructed by a fair bit of the waterways and gardens that hang overhead, which you can only properly enjoy when you take the ages long elevator to the upper level where the palace is located (which, credit due, seems freely accessible to everyone in present-time). But if you don't venture up, how much of the outside world do you get to see? It feels very secluded, very much under lock and key. On some level (and this is one of the many reasons why I think that the Meropide is so excessively important in Fontaine and it's likely why we spent so much time there; it's all to show the ever, ever important contrast and nuance between this 'autonomous nation within Fontaine' and, well, 'Fontaine'), it almost feels like a prison, regardless of how pretty it may look or come across (and despite not 'lacking rights'). And considering how people in the Meropide speak of not always wanting to return back to the 'overworld' following their sentence, I think that there's definitely quite a bit of truth in that. But again, stand there and look around for yourself.
Now to return to the original topic, but keeping the last one in mind as well, look at one other thing that I'm unsure how many have really kept an eye on: the massive effect Palais Mermonia's level has on the rest of the area (inside and outside of its walls). Have you ever walked through the city of Fontaine at any given time of day or night, north to south, east to west, clockwise or counter-clockwise circling through it; have you ever seen how it overshadows an immense part of the streets below it either entirely on its own (which to me signifies a very domineering presence), or together with those outer walls that surround the city? I know how I've spoken thoroughly with people before about how much I enjoy Fontaine and how dark it is in its storytelling, but despite how gorgeous this region with its water- and landscapes are; its city bears quite a heavy weight to me. I don't know who designed it, or ordered it to be constructed in this way, but nothing about the city itself truly, rationally, shows a healthy perspective versus its citizens.
Me: /continues on to ramble in tags because I'm me and I'm a nuisance with always more to say than I know how to coherently put into these posts.

Thank you for the journey and for the company, I gonna miss you dearly. ❤️
(NOW AHEM.... Something... really personal and long for me . You can ignore all this if you want.... just focus in the drawing haha)
These two years were really intense for me. I already started 2020 with my mental health a disaster (to keep it simple haha) the beginning of high school... a global pandemic.... well you definitely can see where i am going. In 2020, I ended up driving some friends away. And by the fact i stayed all the time at home bc of the quarantine, I lost contact with a lot of people. Dealing with school, dealing with my family, dealing with the end of my friendships and all those changes together, made me become more and more isolated. In resume, I lived these two years with some depressive episodes and anxiety crisis (wow haha this got heavy quick huh!!)
And then in July of 2020, I saw this silly frog show in my timeline. In 2019, I was already interested in the story but unfortunately, couldn't catch up bc it didn't aired in my country and finding links for it was HARD! But then I discovered s2 was airing and thats when it my love for this show began. I started to see myself more and more in the characters, SPECIALLY THE CALAMITY TRIO, and all their personal journeys were so much like mine that I couldn't help but imagine them going through the same things as me. It helped me feel less lonely and cope with everything. It was my safe space when things where too overwhelming.
Now, in 2022, with life going back to normal, while I was watching the last few episodes of s3, I noticed something.
Things changed. It's my final year in high school, it's the year I begin to do uni applications. A cycle in my life is ending at the same time the show is ending and God, I can't be more grateful for having had this amazing cartoon to help me overcome a little of all this, because while things are not good.... or.. TOTALLY good yet.... things are becoming better!!
Seeing these characters that I related so hard to the point I was anxious about their endings, changing and growning up, made me realized I changed and grew up too!
These characters are moving on with their lives and so am i!!
It's hard to accept when a good thing ends, but I am glad for everything it done for me. I met a lot of amazing people in this fandom that kept me company, my art style developed SUPER fast by how much fanart I made and I gained a lot of followers too!
Anyways I am just rambling now because I am an emotional mess... really. So thank you, amphibia, for everything.

Well, I’m still glad that Gojo was always a character who was growing and learning at least. He’s literally one of my favorite characters of all time now. Like, he’s never been as perfect as how the fans would make him out to be despite canonically being viewed as an absolute nuisance to everyone around him (I don’t think his peers necessarily hate him but a lot of them probably hate to see him coming and the ones who’ve dealt with him long enough to consider him a friend, tolerate him and groan whenever he opens his mouth, too 😭… out of love. He’s extremely childish so there is only sm the other adults around him can take and to an extent, his students. I think the only characters in canon who adore him and their eye’s sparkle whenever he’s around, and being a silly teacher was Yuuji and Miwa (she asked him for his autograph (he’s the most famous sorcerer in the jjk world) and when she was alone, she did a little dance in the empty hallway 🥺…) from what we’ve seen even though the others still care about him, too. They just find him rather annoying, which he most definitely is. And he does it on purpose. He plays too much.)

Thinking abt Taru fresh out of the Abyss, out with his siblings and spotting a rabbit or small animal. Instincts & habit kicking in ( those seldom lasted long in the Abyss, get it while he can, bring it to share with Master- ), him immediately setting to hunt and kill the creature then proudly bringing it back to his family, all smiles and blood-spattered, and being utterly thrown by the fact that he was not met with mildly disinterested praise, but sheer horror instead-

[WARNING: FLASHING LIGHTS]
:^) Lotus Land Story, Lunatic 1cc, with ReimuA!! This is my second ever Lunatic 1cc
This one's been a long time in the making. LLS was my first Hard 1cc ever, way back in 2010. I felt so sure that a Lunatic 1cc was on the horizon….. but, well. LLS is a bit special when it comes to Lunatics ;;
LLS and MS don't just bump up the difficulty of the patterns/enemies. They also have nearly every enemy shoot tiny, white, aimed bullets at you…… constantly. Including the enemies that come up from the bottom of the screen or that surround you. That, combined with LLS's notorious "choke points" (Stage 4 midboss, Rings of Doom, Yuuka's finale), makes LLS Lunatic a lot more frustrating than it should be ;; But, with the extremely generous extra lives and free bombs, it's (thankfully) still doable!!
I'm not gonna lie, this run was Sloppy. But, I'm really glad I decided to record "just in case", and that I managed to pull out a win in the end :) Maybe someday I'll come back for a cleaner run, or try to clear with Marisa instead, but for now, I'm satisfied.

rough childhood headcanon qs / @clxscdeyes / no longer accepting !
╰┈➤ 7 . how old was your muse when they realized they had childhood trauma?
||. one whole "today years old" post!ragnarok and hela's reveal. Except, even then, according to the movie, not really because Thor is still in heavy denial about all of it where Odin is concerned. I've spoken a bit (here) about how Thor adores his family; he idolizes them and views them through blinding rose-colored glasses, (especially when they're deceased) and that is especially true of his circumstances.
So, very often times when the truth clashes with the rose-colored view of them (namely: his father), Thor does one of two things: find a way to justify the words or action with the surrounding context of the time to make it make sense (e.g., well he scolded me harshly because i was talking back), or avoid it altogether. (this is his go-to. no talking about it; thor would rather not right now, so he does not.)
Key example being: he would rather focus on how his father changed his ways, and the Odin that he knew and grew up with was a man who had turned away from pursuing war for war's sake, and was instead one who valued peace and life. He would rather focus on that aspect of Odin, and take in the broader picture of Odin's life. REGARDLESS of the fact that what Thor is deeply, personally affected - not with the realization that Odin changed his ways once upon a time - but by the fact that he lied to him, manipulated him, and controlled and shaped every aspect of his being, for Thor's whole life, JUST to avoid another Hela. Someone who Thor is not, could not be farther from, and never knew about, because Odin (apparently) kept the matter of his true first-born a closely-guarded secret and seemingly would have continued to were it not for Odin's death, Hela's escape, and Ragnarok all coinciding at the same moment in time.
And this, all because Thor rationalizes it as "well, I wouldn't want to be remembered and judged based on the person that I used to be. I should extend that same kindness to my father, because he too, changed." (x10 because now Odin is dead. And it's in poor-taste to speak ill of a dead man.)
The problem namely being: Thor only talks about things when Thor decides it's time to talk about things ; when he is ready. ...but as this is a topic that ripple effects down to Thor's core, good luck getting him to open up about it, even just with himself.
