"people only pick on trans people because they're easy targets" yeah no shit they're easy targets just like flat earthers and antivaxxers. what they believe is absolutely fucking insane when you think about it for more than 2 seconds.
the idea of trans is no different from the idea of predestination.
predestination says only those who have been chosen by god will be saved and will go to heaven. how do you know you're predestined? there is literally no way to tell externally. there is no test you take to make sure you're predestined. you just have to put your faith in jesus and know, internally, in your heart, or whatever. funny how literally everyone who believes this also happens to be one of the ~chosen ones~.
the idea of being trans is that some people are born in the wrong body. how do you know you're born in the wrong body? there is literally no external way to tell, aside from maybe a few "am I trans?" quizlets (which as we all know are 100% accurate always and only made by professionals and not 12 year old furries). you just look inside, or whatever, and somehow "know" or you decide for yourself. then, based on your own self-reporting, which you have no way to externally verify, you expect people to bend to your will and you expect society to give you special privileges that no one else gets. no other man gets to pee in the ladies' or compete in women's sports but once you self-id as trans? well, right this way "ma'am", pay no mind to the women cowering in fear of you. their rights don't matter nearly as much as your feelings. funny how damn near everyone who believes in this also happens to be trans themselves, will a few outliers.
even "gender critical" transes like mr. blaire white and ms. buck angel will talk in hours upon hours of videos about the importance of gatekeeping and protecting women's spaces, yet /they/ demand the exact same privileges as every other "fake" (in their words) trans person on tiktok. do you seriously think "fake" trans people are going to listen to you and suddenly not go into the women's? No! are you fucking kidding me? it's so much easier to tell a buck or a blaire to fuck off than it is to a delusional fetishist who will 100% either hurt you or make a scene. there is no "true trans" because EVERYONE claims to be truly trans, everyone from bruce jenner to the "IT IS MA'AM" gamestop dude.
it fucking baffles me how youtube skeptics - people i used to admire, people who taught me how to think critically about shit - will spend all damn day dunking on flat earthers and creationists but will turn a blind eye to the trans cray and will even go as far as to support them. they think they're so above it all and they can't be fooled, but they have been, and I keep waiting for them to snap out of it - just like I waited for my own family to snap out of christianity - but they haven't.
if you seriously think a dress and some hormones and plastic surgery will make a man into a woman, you're insane, and you're no more crazy than a youtuber who thinks antarctica is an ice wall or a pastor who still prays to his "sky daddy". you have no right to make fun of these people for the insane shit they believe when you believe in this nonsense. you are quite literally the pot calling the kettle black.
and if you're one of those people who's like "oh well i know they're not actually women i just call them that to avoid hurting their feelings" im sorry but you're still in this cult, you're physically in but mentally out and the only way to really get out is to call a spade a spade, admit the emperor has no clothes, admit you were fooled just like me - just like all of us - and speak out against it.

Pronouns and Gender in the Good Omens Universe
Neil recently said: “Angels aren't humans or mortals. They don't have genders. There isn't a pronoun you can use for them that's wrong, and unless you can speak in the tongue of the angels there's not a pronoun you can use for them that's actually right. Ditto Demons.”
Obviously, no one's going to debate Neil's pronouncements about the series! The thing is, though, that CONSISTENT gendered pronouns are used in the book, and in the series, and by Neil himself when referring to these characters. There's significant gray area here, no matter how you slice it. So...
(Who are we?
@Princess-Spock: I'm non-binary, specifically genderfluid. My pronouns are they/them for simplicity. My primary gender is agender, and is aroace; I have a wide range of other genders and sexualities.
@Twilightcitysky: I’m an allosexual, queer, cis woman with a background in healthcare, specifically sexual/reproductive health and mental health.)
Pronouns, ideally, should reflect gender… but what is gender? Gender is something we feel inside our heads. For most people, that matches up with their genitals… But not always!
Genitals do NOT determine gender!
Therefore:
A transwoman is a WOMAN, regardless of what genitals she has.
A transman is a MAN, regardless of what genitals he has.
A non-binary person is non-binary regardless of what genitals they have.
A genderfluid person might sometimes have gender that matches their genitals, but at least part of the time does not. (A gender that varies in intensity rather than going between genders is genderflux, not genderfluid.)
A couple of those terms need to be clarified:
• Non-binary means not having a “binary gender,” in other words not being one of the 2 most familiar genders, “exclusively male all the time” or “exclusively female all the time.” (Remember, bi = 2.) Non-binary does NOT mean being genderless! A non-binary person could be genderless/agender… or they might have partial gender, mixed genders, fluctuating genders (fluid or flux), xenogender, or non-specific gender.
Note: Not all non-binary people use they/them. Like everyone else, they get to choose their own pronouns. It's never acceptable to assign pronouns of your choosing to them, or to assume that they must be they/them without confirmation.
• Genderfluid means having a gender that changes periodically; a genderfluid person can have any number (other than 1) or combination of genders. The gender of a genderfluid person might change after a few minutes, or after hours, days, even months. Genderfluidity refers to gender ONLY; it does NOT refer to changes in presentation.
And what is presentation, aka gender presentation or gender expression? It’s what gender a person chooses to portray with their appearance. This can include choosing whether to wear male or female clothing, shoes and accessories… hair length and style… whether or not makeup is used… whether or not body shaping garments are worn, such as a binder to flatten the breasts, or padding to create curves... and whether or not there is facial hair, whether naturally grown or otherwise. If someone has a presentation that differs from their biological sex, they might be trans, or it could be cosplay, drag, cross-dressing, a costume, being gender non-conforming (GNC), as a sociopolitical statement (eg butch lesbians), or just for fun.
Presentation does NOT determine gender!
Some people are forced to wear whatever their culture dictates. Or whatever their family will accept. GNC people choose to not wear clothing that conforms to their gender. For some people, presentation is irrelevant, and they just wear whatever is easiest.
Because there are no elements of presentation that are specifically for any of the non-binary genders, non-binary people are typically left with some form of androgynous or GNC presentation. (@Princess-Spock: it's REALLY tricky to create a look that is neither male nor female, especially for those who, like me, don’t reshape their bodies.)
If a genderfluid person's gender changes when they aren't near their closet, their presentation might not match their gender, even if they’d prefer it to. Sometimes it's a matter of what they can afford; not everyone has the luxury of having multiple wardrobes. (@Princess-Spock: For those of us who are fortunate to have little or no dysphoria, we might skip customizing our presentation much of the time, just for simplicity.)
And just FYI:
Sexual orientation does NOT determine gender!
Specific to the fandom, there is no connection whatsoever between being asexual and being genderless/agender, or to not possessing genitals. Just because someone belongs in one of those categories does NOT mean or even suggest that they belong in the other categories. It is absolutely positively NOT correct to suggest that angels and demons are asexual simply because they don't have gender and/or genitals. (They might still be ace, of course!)
A few useful terms (these are not complete descriptions by any means):
• Asexual, sometimes abbreviated as ace, is a spectrum of sexual orientations in which a person feels little or no sexual attraction to anyone. Being asexual does NOT necessarily mean being aromantic. Also, being asexual does NOT mean not having sexual feelings, or not having and enjoying sex, although these things are true for those who are sex-averse.
• Aromantic is a spectrum of romantic attractions in which a person feels little or no romantic attraction to anyone. Being aromantic does NOT necessarily mean being asexual. And an aromantic person can still make loving connections, exchange affection like kissing or holding hands, and of course still have sex.
• Aroace refers to people who are both asexual and aromantic.
How does all this apply to the Good Omens universe? In the book, it says, “angels are sexless unless they really want to make an effort”; Neil has referred to this for the series as well. Canon isn't explicit, but most of us interpret this as, "they don’t have genitals unless they choose to." Lack of GENITALS is then often wrongly seen as lack of GENDER. Neil said, "Neither the angels nor the demons, as far as I’m concerned, are actually gendered as humans are." But, he uses human gender terms; Crowley is genderfluid, angels are non-binary (it seems like he means that they’re genderless, but that's NOT what non-binary means). Confusingly, in a 2018 post, he said:
"The angels and demons in Good Omens aren’t human, they aren’t male (nor are they female). Not that they couldn’t be male etc if they wanted to make that effort. As it says in Good Omens: ‘For those of angel stock or demon breed, size, and shape, and composition, are simply options’."
That sure looks like, YES, they CAN have gender!
More confusingly, Neil also says that his personal headcanon is NOT canon, canon is only what's in the book and the series... and none of this appears in either place. This makes the gender and thus pronoun issues a tad ambiguous. We agree 100% with Neil that people should embrace their headcanons and allow others to do the same, and so use whatever pronouns they want, and allow others to do the same. Here's how WE see Crowley and Aziraphale's genders and pronouns:
It is absolutely impossible, by definition, for a genderfluid person to be genderless ALL the time. Therefore, if Crowley is genderfluid, he MUST have gender at least part of the time! (And if he can have gender, so can all other angels and demons!)
When Mrs. Sandwich tells Crowley that he's a good lad, and he responds that he's neither, that's in line with what most genderfluid people would say; having a gender some days but not others is different from BEING that gender. Crowley has chosen a male body (male genitals, hairy chest), facial hair, generally masculine attire, and male pronouns, so it's reasonable to assume that his chosen gender is male most of the time.
We assume that he was female when he chose to wear female clothing (an abaya) in the crucifixion scene. He may also have been female during his stint as Nanny Ashtoreth, but that might have just been presentation.
During the scene where he's in heaven in S2, he has a non-binary presentation; the tracksuit is androgynous, and the accessories (headband, sparkly gold tie, fingernails, and toenails) are feminine. He might be experiencing a non-binary gender at this time.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(@Princess-Spock: Genderfluidity is very complicated. Even when Crowley "looked" female, he might have been experiencing a variety of different genders; remember, neither genitals nor presentation determine gender! In fact, since Crowley had adopted a female appearance out of necessity, not because that was his true gender at that time, he might even never have actually BEEN female during the time he was "looking" female!)
What about Aziraphale? He has all the “male stuff” that Crowley does (facial and chest hair, deep voice, etc). He has an unwaveringly masculine presentation; his hair is ALWAYS short throughout history (even when Gabriel’s is long), and his sartorial choices are traditionally and formally male (pocket watch on a chain, French cuffs with cufflinks), with no hint of the modern androgyny of jeans and T-shirts… strong evidence that his chosen gender is male.
Neil always refers to Aziraphale and Crowley as he/him (he stated that Crowley was presenting female as Nanny Ashtoreth and at the crucifixion, but no pronoun is used either time). The book and the script book always refer to Aziraphale and Crowley as he/him. Aziraphale and Crowley always refer to each other as he/him. Michael and David have always referred to Aziraphale and Crowley as he/him. So, he/him is our personal choice.
What about the pronouns of other supernatural characters?
Beelzebub:
He/him in the book. She/her in the script book. For S1, Neil said, “I don’t think there were any. Probably Zzzzzzir.” They/them for S2 (“but they're always such a little ray of sunshine” in E3).
Dagon:
In the book, no pronouns are used, but all male titles; Lord, Master, Under-Duke. He/him in the script book. No pronouns used in the show or by Neil.
Muriel:
They/them canonically, but referred to by Quelin Sepulveda, the actress who plays Muriel, as she/they. It seems like the gender perception of the actor who embodies a character has to count for something; if Quelin was perceiving Muriel as partly female, that's an intrinsic part of who Muriel IS. We think we should honor that. (Neil has had plenty of opportunity to debate Quelin's usage, but never has.)
(Food for thought: If we accept this sort of "mixed" pronoun usage as valid in the Good Omens universe, it could apply to other angels or demons, not just to Muriel!)
Archangels played by actresses:
In the script book, when Aziraphale speaks to the 4 archangels, it says; “The room of angels in slick suits. There are four of them, male and female.” It doesn't specify WHO is female, though, and ALL the archangels have non-female pronouns elsewhere in the book, so...?
Uriel:
"He" in the script book, no pronouns otherwise.
Michael:
“He” in the script book. Neil has used "they."
Angels and demons played by male actors:
All of them are referred to with male pronouns, both within the series and by Neil. However:
Hastur:
Briefly had a female appearance in the scene where Aziraphale and Crowley are kidnapped, but no pronouns were used at the time. In the script book, the “lady tourist” is referred to as "she" when whacking Crowley… and then is referred to as "her" even AFTER transforming into Hastur with a wig.
Ligur:
In the book, Ligur was intriguingly referred to as “it” while he was dying, but immediately thereafter was referred to as "he." That paragraph appears almost word for word in the script book; it refers to him as "he" instead of "it."
Sandalphon:
Referred to in the script book as "it."
Metatron:
"He" in the book and season 2.
God:
Neil said: Jesus uses "Father". Aziraphale uses "She" pronouns for God and Crowley uses "They". I don't think the God in the Good Omens TV universe has a gender.
In the book, Aziraphale, Crowley and Metatron refer to God as He. In the script book, Aziraphale refers to God as She, and Crowley refers to God as They and She.
We think the bottom line is: These are FICTIONAL characters inhabiting a universe where there are few canonical rules for pronouns or gender for supernatural beings. This is a perfect vehicle for choice, which has so much importance to the story. You may start out on opposite sides, you may start out as a genderless being, you may start out as a sexless being, but you can choose something different for yourself. The importance of choice in Good Omens is one of the things that makes it great!
There’s a lot of fic and art that depicts the characters in different ways; everyone should feel comfortable portraying them the way they choose without the worry that someone is going to be upset with them. We’ve both seen a lot of comments to the tune of, “you’re not using the correct pronouns” or “that’s not the correct sexual orientation,” and that’s not good fandom etiquette. Being open-minded and kind to one another as we flesh out this universe for ourselves is just basic courtesy. Neil himself has said that in fandom, any interpretation is valid! The Good Omens fandom is largely a microcosm of the queer community; we need to practice acceptance amongst ourselves, so that we can stand together against those in the wider world who want to tear us down!
Anyone who wants to discuss personal gender issues can feel free to message @Princess-Spock; remember that if you ask anonymously, there's no way to reply to you!

Wanting to be a man VS Being a man: The difference between transgender and transsex, and the exploration of reasons behind the modern transgender culture
(though this applies to both men and women, i talk with the perspective of trans men because)
i want to be strong. i’ve always dreamed of being strong enough to be able to knock someone out with a single punch (hypothetically). but am i currently strong? no. do i “identify” as a strong man in a weak body? no. who even defines what is considered strong? benching 10kg? or 100kg?
there’s many reasons why i would want to be strong. healthier, easier life, looks cool. but i’m able to live my life as who i am right now. it sure would be great to be strong and i’m working towards it, but if i were threatened to stop, would i suffer? no.
now, i’m a guy, a man. do i dream of wanting my physical body to match my true sex? yes. do i want to become a man? no, in a sense i already am, mentally.
so with that example in mind, let’s take a look at modern day transgenders.
there’re many reasons to want to be a different gender (gender as in whatever definition tucutes have), mostly stemming from “the grass is greener on the other side” mentality and “society”. things would be better if so and so was like this and that, and i’ll be happier, my life quality improves etc. and i don’t deny that some people will truly feel better as the “gender” they identify as. but transsex is not alleviating your feelings, it’s curing a problem.
i want to bring up a fictional example, that i think portrays well what i mean:
meet amatsuka megumi, main protagonist of a 2000s manga called Cheeky Angel. she’s an extremely beautiful girl, but wants to become a boy. in the beginning of the story, it’s said that she was originally a boy, that turned into a girl because of a demon, thus she wants to turn back again to her true self.
however, in the end, it’s revealed megumi was always a girl. the reason she made a wish to become a boy was because she hated her role as a woman. because she’s a woman, she can’t do this and that. because she’s a woman, she’s weak and can’t protect her best friend. because she’s a woman, other people get hurt protecting her. so feeling frustrated, she wishes to become a man. but the demon wants to prove to her that she as a woman, can do all of those things. so the demon manipulates her memories into thinking she was once a boy. therefore, without the constraints of her insecurity, she’s able to achieve her wishes all while being a woman.
i think this really applies in real life. megumi’s story, is a huge and possible reason as to why one might want to become another gender. because of society and it’s roles.
the reason why “dysphoria is unnecessary” is harmful is because it encourages people like this, like megumi who have deep underlying issues, to transition without trying to understand the root problem.
“it’s just a fictional story. and people in real life aren’t that stupid to call someone like her transgender.” well, if you were to go to the “amatsuka megumi” tag on tumblr, you’ll see people labelling her as a canon trans man. articles even call this an “lgbtq” series, and there’s posts online about people saying they had “gender fuckery” from reading this series. WHEN ITS NOT ABOUT BEING TRANS AT ALL.
it’s a small issue, but it really shows how twisted the idea of being “transgender” has become. it’s clear that megumi is not trans in any way shape or form. she even gets extremely upset and runs away when she finds out she was going to turn into a man. yet so many people who see this series interpret it the wrong way.
this is why “wanting to become a man”, aka what transgender is nowadays, is NOT the same as being transsex. in many cases, this desire comes from insecurity and the need to discover one’s own identity.
maybe there’s someone without dysphoria to transition and they’re happy. sure, but you’re just escaping the problem, not facing it. transition is NOT a necessity in cases like this. there’s a reason why therapy exists.
for example, a woman who is tired of being sexualised might want to become a man who wouldn’t be subjected to objectification. but she might not understand this as the reason, and due to influence, believes she’s trans. so she socially transitions, and is genuinely happy with it. i don’t deny her existence. but she is not trans. her choice to keep her female parts is a sign she will experience dysphoria as a man.
i believe this is the case for many transgenders nowadays. people might not realise it, but every word and action, including stuff like pronouns, carry an unconscious association that’s unique to each individual person. “she” might seem uncomfortable because of the negative social connotations. whereas something bizzare like “xhe” might not because it’s an entirely new word. there’s little association to it, so it feels “fresh”.
so what’s the issue here? society and ourselves. how do we solve it? by surrounding ourselves with support. why else do some transgenders feel okay with their friends using female pronouns on them, but not strangers? why are some people “genderfluid”? why are there so many “transmen” who look and act exactly like women? could it be… the unconscious associations and connotations one might have with their sex?
BUT THIS IS NOT DYSPHORIA. IT SHOULD NEVER BE CALLED DYSPHORIA.
it is the mere insecurity one has with themselves as a result of living in a society. so then what IS transsex?
the disconnect between the brain and the body that is not caused by society, but rather a fault in the creation of a human. for a transsex, no matter how much a society changes, they will encounter the same issue.
now i know it’s very hard to tell because 1. there is no scientific test to prove this yet and 2. there’s no way to take oneself out of society since birth. so even i myself cannot be 100% sure. but this is why dysphoria with the entire body is extremely important in understanding whether one is transsex. furthermore, the discomfort of even being recognised as “trans”.
because in my head, i am not. i am not “trans”. my identity is not transgender, or transsexual.
i am me. and i’m a man.

whats up with your guys rp universe?
You've activated my special interest trap card :]
Uhhhh going under a read more bc I'm always self conscious that someone will get annoyed with a long post <3
So the RP-verse is me and Chara's version of Genshin told through our discord roleplays and our personal headcanons.
The majority of it tends to circle around whatever characters we hyperfixate on for whatever period of time. Example, at the beginning, it focused mostly in Mondstadt bc Chara was fixated on Venti and Kaeya and I was fixated on Diluc, Rosaria, and Benny's Adventure Team. Currently, Chara is fixated on Freminet, Lyney and Lynette (whom we have dubbed Orphan Trio) while I have fixated on Furina and Neuvillette.
The basis of the universe is mostly the same, its just riddled with a lot of self-indulgent bullshit. Like, the most recent headcanon that has been added to the list is that Candace and Kaeya are distant cousins.
Other self-indulgent headcanons from the RP-verse:
Gorou is a trans woman who changes her name to Hina after she discovers that Miko is using her image for a waifu
Diluc and Eula are in a marriage of convience, currently still just engaged. Eula doesn't want to be a Lawrence anymore and Diluc would like to stop being hit on when he's manning the bar at Angel's Share. It's a win-win.
Arlecchino uses she/him pronouns. She also still goes by "Lord Arlecchino" instead of "Lady Arlecchino".
Yoimiya, Heizou, Kazuha, and Tomo are all members of the Arataki Gang.
Xiao and Kokomi are dating. Kokomi is also married to Hina. Xiao is also dating Aether.
Heizou and Tighnari are dating. Tighnari is also married to Cyno. Heizou is also dating Kazuha, Aether, Xiao, and Venti.
Aether has a very large polycule. His boyfriends include: Kaeya, Kazuha, Xiao, Albedo, Venti, and Heizou. I think I might be forgetting one, but I cannot remember for the life of me.
Ayato and Itto are dating.
Ayaka and Sara are dating. Sara is also married to the Raiden Shogun. Not Ei! Specifically the Shogun. Ei is married to Miko.
Heizou and Sara are found family, they seeing each other as siblings. It eventually culminates to the point where they each change their surnames to the same one; 'Fujiwara'.
Heizou wears one of Sara's tengu feathers braided into his hair.
It's been ten years since Diluc's 18th birthday and the Ragbros are forgiven each other and reconciled more-or-less, but because they're both too proud, they've never spoken their apologies out loud. It's still messing with their relationship.
Lady Ragnvindr (named Aurora) is still alive and the only reason she's not in Mondstadt is because she left for Natlan when Crepus died and Diluc left for Snezhnaya. She tried to convince Kaeya to come with her since she believed both her husband and first son to be dead and she didn't want to lose the last of her family, but she failed to convince him.
Both the Ragbros view Adelinde as a secondary mother figure.
Adelinde and Verr Goldet are sisters.
I fully believe in the cannibal Adelinde theory. Do with that what you will.
I think this one might actually be canon, but I don't know enough about Miko's lore to say anything. But! Miko raised the Kamisato siblings after Lord and Lady Kamisato died. She is the reason Ayato is Like That. Ayaka is also Like That, but she is so much better at hiding it.
Ganyu gives Childe archery lessons after Zhongli and Childe get engaged.
Albedo has been sent many letters from the Sumeru Akademiya, requesting that he become a Spantamad professor, but he just ignores the letters.
Sucrose is a current student at the Akademiya. She's currently using her abroad study time to be back in her home of Mondstadt to learn under Albedo. She is an Amurta student with some heavy interest in Spantamad teachings as well.
Cyno, Yanfei, and Heizou are with Aether when the Traveler goes to Fontaine. Instead of Aether being Lyney and Lynette's attorney during their trial, Yanfei steps up. Heizou punches Lyney in the face after he learns Orphan Trio are Fatui. Cyno has an autistic amount of interest in the Oratrice.
Heizou has trauma about the Fatui. He had taken an obsessive amount of interest in a missing person's case that Aether had filed for Lumine's disappearance. Heizou eventually got a lead about a potential sighting of Lumine and he ended up walking into a trap laid by the Fatui. His arm was broken and he almost got shipped off to Snezhnaya where he would have presumably been killed for meddling in things he shouldn't have.
Oh, yeah, the Fatui that Heizou almost got kidnapped by were under Arlecchino's command, so Heizou has it rough in Fontaine.
Wanderer is named Tozen which is an Inazuman name that means "the deserving one".
Kaeya and Heizou join Aether when he goes to Sumeru.
Instead of Aether doing the Sumeru Desert questlines, Kaeya and Heizou run off to do them. They take Kaveh and Nilou with them. Jeht ends up falling in love with Nilou. Liloupar and Sorush get attached to Kaeya.
Kaeya knows how to weild a catalyst and he becomes a healer during the Desert Quests. He's kinda shit at it, but he's decent enough that no one bleeds out after they have a run-in with a Consecrated Beast.
There's a lot more, but my brain is failing me for more right now <3

another non steddie post BUT has to do with gender shit and being a queer recognizably and existing in my skin--
i went to a friday the 13th party last night with one of my platonic partners (whom i will now call pp because shorthand is easier) and we both are very fem presenting afab people who use pronouns that don't match our outward expression. i personally use he/him exclusively, unless another trans person is referring to me in which they can use it/its because they get it in a way that cis people i don't often trust to be able to get. pp uses they/he/(it) in the same kind of way. i had my tits OUT and i am comfortable like that, because i know that the people who know me and love me and understand me know deep within themselves that i am not a woman. they see me for everything that i am and they love me. we re-met someone that we had seen the last time at the party, who was a fucking angel and so sweet! he offered us drugs to which we both declined because i was DD and pp strictly drinks, and we had good conversations! i gave him chocolates i had brought with me, we complimented each other's costumes, and overall just had a good fucking time vibing together! we started talking about gender, because i have a more androgynous sounding voice because of my testosterone, and pp referred to me using the correct pronouns. our new friend got so fucking excited that someone who was like him existed-- he tells everyone that he uses any pronouns because he doesn't want to have to repeatedly explain to people that he's not a woman, that he exists outside of the gender spectrum. he told us about the immense euphoria he gets when his partner refers to him using the correct pronouns, and i got so excited for him! it's been really fucking hard lately existing as such a feminine presenting person in spaces that aren't full of me-- and he helped re-light that spark of wanting to tell every person that tells me i'm a woman/too feminine to be a man/too xy or z to be trans and live my life peacefully to fuck right off. he was so fucking happy to meet people whose perceived genders didn't match their identities because people like us are so fucking far and few between. i have dysphoria-- i have it so fucking bad some days and didn't even realize that's what i was feeling because people that look like me/feel like me don't talk about it! transness is always seen from such a binary point of view, and even when people try to go outside the binary it just ends up like a third gender of androgyny and i personally just don't fit that! i am a guy. i am a dude. i'm a girl. i'm a person. i wear dresses and skirts and pants and proudly display my body because it's the only one i have and my mother did a very good fucking job in raising me to believe that i'm beautiful, and that anyone can be beautiful regardless of their gender identity. she taught me that people are people at their cores and that is what makes them beautiful. she also taught me that as long as i'm happy with myself and with the people i surround myself (who love me unconditionally, might i add) then it doesn't fucking matter what the world thinks of me. she let me play with whatever toys i wanted as a kid, she dressed me in the most neutral shit, in boys clothes, in girls clothes, because she thought they looked cool and they made me happy! she took the gender out of things that society and my peers and the other adults in my life kept trying to force gender into. she reminds me daily that as long as i'm happy, i'm beautiful. i know that i come from a very unconventional upbringing when it comes to gender expression and identity, and that i'm so fucking fortunate to have such a supportive family, and i am so fucking grateful for that. i spend every day at a job that i hate because i'm surrounded by people that don't respect me because they see me as a woman because of the tits on my chest and the clothes that i wear and that fucking kills me. i still fight them every day on it, because i have to. because if i don't then the next trans person that interacts with them will have to deal with this shit. and hopefully exposure therapy helps or something because jesus fuck.

Ohhh pls ramble abt your oc's story from symphony remixed I want to know the basics!! -🐇🎉anon
!!!! AH WELL I HAVE ALL NIGHT ANYWAY :]
Sinfonietta: REMIXED (or known to u all as Symphony) is a retelling and rewrite of the original series 'Symphony: Music of Mind"
The story takes place in the same world as all of my other stories, The Overworld. It follows the same characters and some new ones.
The main rule of the main cast is that they're all based on a song, not just in design but in personality and sometimes backstory as well.
Let me run you through the main characters!
Tumblr media
Adrianne [she/her || trans woman || bisexual]
Based on the song 'hot girl bummer' by blackbear, surprisingly
She's the titular protagonist and the reason the Symphony crew came to be. She got everyone onto the team by herself, from angels to demons to a little orphaned kid. She is, for the most part, very kind and sincere. At least for a while, she is.
She came from an LGBTQphobic home with a Christian human father and a polytheistic messenger bird mother. She moved out at 16, got a part-time job as an actress, moved onto singing and formed her own little group.
Tumblr media
Bridgette [she/they || bisexual]
Based on the song 'Boss Bitch' by Doja Cat
Bridgette is a demon from the Underworld and is the little sister of two of the Devil's servants. They found Adrianne while they were crossing the Overworld one day and decided to be the first official member of the squad. She's very self-righteous but they have a soft spot.
Tumblr media
Alastor [they/he/it || asexual]
Based on the song 'im so tired...' by Lauv and Troye Sivan.
A angel cast out from heaven from apparently not doing their job well enough, even though they were brutally overworked. Alastor is always sleepy, even during shows, but he soldiers on anyway. He's loved by most for how soft his voice is and how smoothing his solo songs tend to be.
Generally it's very kind and wouldn't hurt a soul but will get a bit salty or rude if provoked.
Tumblr media
Cerys [he/him || mlm]
Based on the song 'Fighter' by Jack Stauber.
Cerys is a fruit farmer from the western area. He lives over the hills in solitary with just himself and his cats (Bella, Banbury, Beryl and Beckford). He delivers his fruit to multiple cities and towns and other locations across the Overworld and is loved by pretty much everyone. People all over were delighted when they heard he was going to be joining a music group.
He's a very kindhearted guy and wouldn't hurt a fly. At least, he wouldn't hurt a fly anymore.
Tumblr media
Randy [trans man || he/him || gay]
Based on the song 'PUNK TACTICS' by JOEY VALENCE
Randy is a demon, that's for sure. He's a follower of Lord Diabolos and Lord Dionysus. He's not very mean if you get to know him, he only plays jerk if he doesn't know you.
He was the child of extremely violent parents and was raised by random strangers, pretty much. He got into the squad because he made a living off of singing on the streetside as a young adult.
Tumblr media
Darkie [all pronouns || asexual]
Based on the song 'Little Dark Age' by MGMT
The angel who tricked everyone, even God. Known for framing as the archangel Gabriel, Darkie's actual name is Loki. He was exiled from heaven for being unfaithful.
She got into the squad because she pretty much,, sang whenever she spoke. Adrianne liked this and found it charming for.. whatever reason.
Tumblr media
Ava [she/it || lesbian]
Based on 'missing home' by nineishuman
After escaping an abusive home, Ava was just seeking out employment. Adrianne knew her from school and let her join the crew.
Ava is a very paranoid person and has high empathy/sympathy. It's seen as a very dependable and loving friend and the squad treats her like a younger sister of sorts.
Tumblr media
Ghost [they/them || gay]
Based on the songs 'Honey I'm Home' by Ghost and 'Doubt' by twenty-one pilots
The first ever angel to ever grace existence and then first ever fallen one. Ghost didn't even do anything to deserve their cruel treatment in Heaven. They were only doing what they were told.
Ghost sings of his experiences and is described to, unironically, have a very 'heavenly' and 'angelic' voice. They are loved far and wide for not just their singing, but their personality and.. the way they dress.
Tumblr media
Brutus [all pronouns, gender is up for interpretation /srs || unlabeled]
Based on the song 'Brutus' by The Buttress.
Brutus is a very.. special individual. He's commonly called 'Judas' because of the rumors that he.. stabbed Jesus. He's also described as unpredictable and barely controllable.
He, too, is a fallen angel but he was tortured for years before he was exiled for, y'know, the usual. Trying to kill God because of the corrupt system Heaven had at the time and still has. He would later be diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and complex PTSD.
Tumblr media
Lukas [they/he/it/zir/xey || mlm]
Based on the song 'heather' by glaive and ericdoa
Lukas is a very strange guy. He's of unknown origin and his parents are also anonymous. He does have an older and younger brother though.
Lukas could be said to be pretty standard in terms of personality. It's never gotten angry at.. anybody. Not even at people who hurt hurt them.

My review of the Barbie movie.
Tumblr media
The Barbie movie starts with a 2001: A Space Odyssey homage and when Barbie shows up she is portrayed as a God who brought women's liberation to the masses. Barbie or Mattel is not the answer to the hard  questions. Throughout the film Mattel is an entity that controls Barbieland and when something goes awry in Barbieland it happens in the real world. So Mattel inadvertently controls the real world. Since one of the co-founders of Mattel was also the creator of Barbie, Ruth Handler, Mattel feels that Barbie is the essence of Girl Boss. But Girl Boss for who?
There is no class analysis in the movie. Barbie can go out and do whatever she wants because she lives in a Wes Anderson style utopia.  Everyone is incredibly wealthy. There are no homeless people in the movie (I didn't see any when they were in the real world either). So everyone in both worlds are wealthy. There is no poverty, everyone has the same opportunities. Which is not true. The writers all come from relative privilege and comfort. So they could go out and do anything. But the woman who has struggled with Homelessness has a much harder time trying to become president as there are barriers in the way. At the end of the movie they don't address many of the issues that caused the Ken’s to rebel. Where do the Ken’s sleep? So Barbie is there for bourgeois women liberation.
The movie's main point is that if Barbie can do it, so can you. What if Barbie wants to be a farmer, blacksmith, or a car mechanic? All of Barbie’s jobs are very bourgeois, even the cop and the Desert Storm Veteran. I know when I played with her it was more of how I play The Sims, “Oh look, a happy family.” Barbie despite everything is still a feminine role model.
Every time Ruth Handler is on screen they give her some soft lighting to make her look angelic and every time the two women hold hands it's very reminiscent of Michelangelo’s painting Creation of Adam. So this female who is a representation of both women and a corporation is the equivalent to God. Because God created man and Mattel via Ruth created Woman. The movie is saying worship women and corporations as they may make a few mistakes but they have your best intentions.
They also do that because they want to drive home the importance of the mother-daughter relationship because Barbie is named after Ruth’s daughter Barbara. It really felt like the feminism of the 1970s where you can be a career woman and a mother. According to the movie, the only way to dismantle the patriarchy is to strengthen the sisterhood. So have more babies. It felt extremely pro-life. It made me uncomfortable.
The movie promotes heteronormativity despite having queer and trans people in the cast. The relationship between Barbie and America Ferrier’s character was advertised as queer like in the trailer but it mirrors more of a nuclear family. Barbie is the big sister of Sasha. This movie reminded me of a lot of films and TV from the 50’s that I have seen. Because in the end you are ruled by either a matriarchy or a patriarchy. Writer and Director Greta Gerwing said this to the New York Times, “My hope for the movie is that it’s an invitation for everybody to be part of the party and let go of the things that aren’t necessarily serving us as either women or men.” Either woman or man. So she doesn't acknowledge anyone else but man or woman. It may have been campy but it upheld heteronormative ideas.
Barbie sets off on her quest because she gets some cellulite. Which was the final straw for someone who is supposed to be beautiful. There is a big barbie. You think they would be used to cellulite because she is a friend. But when Stereotypical barbie has a minor flaw of cellulite, not flat feet, the whole world ends. Isn't that part of the critique of why Barbie as an institution is bad? Barbie, like Disney, gives women and girls unrealistic ideas of how they are supposed to look. So the movie wants you to stay skinny and look hot. To be beautiful is to be powerful.
The movie was bad  but one of the worse things it did was make a genocide joke. They had America Ferrer, a woman of color, say that white women losing to the patriarchy is similar to being whipped out completely. You can tell a rich white woman wrote it because if you tell a white lady no she feels like she is the most oppressed person ever to exist which in a way turns her into a Karen.
In short the movie promotes cis women and corporations as gods. Cis women are gods as they are mother’s. And they are the only way to help change the world for the better. You can have a fat friend just don't be fat yourself. Also rich people having an inconvenience is equivalent to genocide because poor people just don't exist in the world. The movie was written by people who live in their own little world, and it shows. It could have been viewed as leftist if it was made in about 1985 but today? No.

Let me try to respond to everything. I am someone who has cared about this since 2016, but has in-depth cared since 2020. I am a bisexual neurodivergent abuse victim, like Amber Heard.
People claiming that they are abused after their claim abuse is, unfortunately, a documented phenomenon. It is called DARVO (deny, attack, reverse victim and offender). Unfortunately because women are more likely to be physical abuse victims, and especially bisexual women are abused an astronomical rate compared to heterosexual cisgender men, DARVO often involves praying on people’s misogynistic stereotypes (gold digger, cheater, histrionic). This does NOT mean it does not ever happen, but it is much more likely to be false if say a much less powerful woman with less wealth by a factor of over ten, says, filed for a restraining order, called the cops, kept a private diary to herself, and took photographs of her injuries.
What you are actually describing for yourself is similar to what happened to Amber. Despite being a man, you were the victim to Deny, Attack, Reverse victim and offender. Do you know what Depp’s defenders, and he himself used to latch onto her? Saying that MeToo meant women were always believed and men never were. Her allegations came out before the MeToo movement. Both the idea that a 13-year-old could “want it” and have power over her / that a person could leverage a movement that did not exist, or that women were universally believed are blatant and disgusting lies.
It is people acting as if the plain obvious truth of who has more power hinges on whatever lefties on twitter are saying. A trans boy before being abused by a 16 year old has no power. Neither does the person who is over two decades younger than a celebrity who was previously in a public pedophilic relationship with a 17-year-old and has a history of dating much younger women, who controlled where her closest friends lived and who was most famous for being his wife. Just because people can twist it using causes like “understanding the patriarchy” or “protecting male victims of abuse” doesn’t change the obvious truth. It’s not that either of those causes are wrong, but they do not apply in reality here. Also I am very sorry about what happened to you, and I hope it doesn’t feel like I’m overstepping to compare this.
I’m also an autistic person and an autistic woman and I’ve cried uncontrollably at seemingly random times when recounting my trauma just like Amber did on the stand. You’re right that body language analysis is garbage pseudoscience and has always been used to police and judge vulnerable people (using or actual police and carceral system to lock up people of color, disabled people, and LGBT people at a higher proportion than anyone else).
On other things about the case, I could go on and on and on about all of the fabrications Depp made and howe every one of them is debunkable. From the idea that the “burn and rape her corpse” texts were venting because claimed during the trial she was an “angel” at that time, to the idea that she shit in his bed and pretended it was the dog (he was actually the one DOCUMENTED to have wanted to make her step in his poop and pretend it’s their dog and sent this ideas to friend).
I agree that being an addict does not inherently make you abusive, but he blacked out frequently and had underlying jealousy and anger issues. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the pictures from the “finger incident” (the one where he claims she somehow exploded his finger off by throwing a bottle, yes you hear that right – and she claims he smashed it off in a rage), but he dipped his bloody finger stump in paint and while high and drunk and scrawled messages slut shaming her and telling her to “be careful at the top” – his team also has texted her apologies for kicking her while he was “blacked out” on a plane (that they tried to deny existed before he accidentally sent over more on his phone than he thought), and he called himself “the monster.”
His addiction was so bad that he involved Heard heavily in his recovery process and initially called her an “angel” to her mother and talked about how he would be dead without her. Addiction does NOT make a person inherently violent, but it can bring the worst out in you when you are already struggling, and it’s important to understand that it’s precisely because not everyone acts that way that it’s ultimately your responsibility what you do when you’re using substances.
As for the meme itself, I understand it’s a bit crass, and I don’t like the way it’s talked about so flippantly, but you have to understand that 95% of the internet were in Depp’s corner memeing rape testimony. That’s not the same thing as referring to Depp as Jack Sparrow. I think the point of it isn’t to make fun of him for being a silly pirate, it’s to make fun of fans who parasocially view him as a character he played instead of trying to understand what really happened and view things objectively. And it’s true that the hate campaign against her was full of sexism. I’ve seen people in left wing spaces crawl out of the woodwork and speak like 4 channers.
We have to acknowledge the misogyny on social media in the Depp vs. Heard case when the republican party posted a meme of Jack Sparrow after Depp won the case, when we are getting more and more fascist in this country every day. If this had somehow happened to a prominent trans man against an older and more powerful woman, it would also be necessary to acknowledge transphobia and point out if people had illogical parasocial attachments to the abusive woman. I don't like the way it's said completely, but I don't think it's making fun of male victims or even of Johnny Depp to point it out - and part of the snippiness or haughtiness is probably because of how hard it's been to hold onto the minority position of supporting Heard against a wave of support for Depp and bigotry surrounding it.
I’m sorry he what now-
Elvis part 2 electric boogaloo???
TL; DR feel free to not read the rest:
I think we’re on the same page here.
The online leftist space oftentimes makes me incredibly uncomfortable. It’s very reactionary. I’ve been harassed for asking simple questions I was genuinely confused about under the assumption that I was trying to “provoke” people.
A lot of people especially online like to think that they could never fall for propaganda but it happens every day. It happened to me several times, it’s happened to you, it’s happened to whoever else may be reading this right now.
Originally I felt as though heard’s retelling of the staircase thing seemed incredibly disjointed and false. Depp’s version made more sense and was more put together. But I can think back to the times my abusers told me “oh I abused you? Give me one example then” and when I blanked they screamed at me saying “if you have to think about it that long it didn’t happen” but that’s just not true. Our brains do weird things to protect us. I don’t remember half the abusive shit that happened to me, and when I do, it’s disjointed just like Amber Heard’s retelling. My abusers often leveraged the fact that they were being cool and logical and I was being emotional and nonsensical as a way to prove that I was lying.
I think exclusively consuming the case through channels like Observe and Todd Grande (they’re buddy buddy and often recommend each others videos to their fans) really impacted my opinions. When someone states their opinion as fact and then (Cherry picks) evidence that backs it up, it’s easy to just take their word for it. Sources: Dude, Trust Me
When Piper (Observe’s ex spouse who appeared on his channel often) came out about her experiences being abused I didn’t want to believe it because this guy was a comfort YouTuber to me at the time and I held their relationship as this shining example of what healthy love is supposed to be. I assume it might be similar for other people with depp although I truly don’t understand how someone could get that attached to an actor simply because they play a cool character. Some of my all time favorite characters are played by shitty people that I despise (Shatner was jealous of nimoy because he was more popular with the fans and literally stopped being friends with him up until he fucking died of cancer all out of spite, Micheal Shanks quit Stargate because he wasn’t “getting enough airtime” when he had multiple episodes dedicated to his character and had several main plot story arcs that spanned literal seasons).
I’ve definitely had parasocial relationships with creators I cared about. I was devastated when I realized that CreepShowArt was a horrible abusive person. I was devastated when iiluminaughtii, whose entire channel is dedicated to criticising corruption, was found to be not only corrupt but entirely morally bankrupt. I was devastated when Ned was proven to be an adulterer because he was the only example in my life at the time of a healthy and loving relationship.
But I didn’t harass people over it. I didn’t defend CSA to my last dying breath. It took me about two weeks to be convinced that she was guilty but only because she was the first. The other two I was convinced about in three days or less.
Obviously all of this is super tied to emotions for me even though I couldn’t care less about the people involved.
Bringing in false equivalencies to rope people like myself in was probably by design. The “market” of abused men is DESPERATE to be seen, valued, believed, and having someone as big as Johnny Depp proving our point skyrocketed the cause so much further.
But you know what I’ve noticed? They only care when it’s Johnny depp. I still get told by complete fucking strangers that my abuse wasn’t real and that I should suck it up and be a man. Unfortunately I’m not a millionaire celebrity that people really like.
The online leftist movement on its face is very progressive, but only when it comes to people they like. It’s like rainbow capitalism, on its face that’s great, we’re getting support, but the minute you look deeper you realize that it’s all performative. Walmart doesn’t care about my rights, crazyfrog69 on Twitter doesn’t actually care about male abuse victims, they want social points for being on the “right” side of the debate.
Being left is all about going against the status quo, radical acceptance, supporting everyone and anyone even if we don’t like or understand them. But now it’s about looking good instead of actually fighting for what’s right. It’s exactly like the current trend of punk/grunge clothing that comes from hot topic. Our clothes aren’t ripped for aesthetics, Janet, they’re ripped because we refuse to participate in capitalist fast fashion and look what you turned our movement into.
I’m starting to think this entire trial was just everyone’s excuse to participate in more performative activism just like the stupid black squares on Instagram.
This is just depressing.

Church Drama
Warning: this is going to get a little church-y. My rant is not aimed at any specific religion, only at my church in particular.
It never ceases to amaze me, how my church time and time again chooses to side with the aggressor rather than the victim or continue to keep a bad person in their good graces while giving good people the collective cold shoulder. I get it: forgive and love your neighbor. But really?
One girl had an affair with an engaged man, sleeping with him in her little sister's bed, then eloped, then divorced him a year later. She is still in the congregation's good graces. They all still follow her on social media and "heart" all her posts. Simultaneously, they forced her family to leave the church with their unending "how could you raise such an immoral young woman like that" comments and attitude. The Halo Effect is VERY STRONG with this one.
Another girl has adopted the baby prostitute grunge aesthetic and posts countless pictures of her kissing trans and lesbians in mens restrooms. Oh, but she's still their sweet, righteous little ballet princess.
Her brother was sent to a mental hospital for months and when he came back, admitted to the whole congregation that he was addicted to porn. "Oh, what a great kid, he's sooo brave!"
One girl dated a guy much older than her just to enjoy having a sugar daddy for a few months before she got bored and dumped him. The guy was genuinely in love with her. And she used him, played on his feelings to get expensive gifts out of him, including: a Polaroid camera with all the add-on stuff, a modern old-fashioned radio/CD player/record player/Bluetooth speaker, and a VERY expensive gaming computer (that's just a perch for her cat, now). Everyone knows full well she used him. Everyone knows how DEVASTATED he was when she broke things off without a hint of remorse or compassion. He was seriously messed up by that. Yet they still invite her to events and keep her in the circle. Again, the Halo Effect.
MEANWHILE...
One girl's parents got a divorce because her mom stopped taking her meds and went off the deep end, spreading rumors on her way down that the husband was abusive to the whole family. Who did the church believe? The bi-polar former drug addict. And who did they start to throw shade at? The kids. To the point they stopped coming to church because of the comments people would make to their faces.
One boy, who had ADHD, was put in juvenile detention repeatedly, because his parents would lie that he was violently abusive toward the whole family. They had the whole church believing they were the victims of a demon child, just so they could have JD raise their hyper active kid for them. Because they were too lazy to put in a little extra work that it takes to raise a kid with ADHD. When the boy tried to come back to his childhood church, the other kids had already been warned to stay away from him because he was "dangerous". The church barely tolerated his presence as a favor to his "poor, poor parents" for "all they had been through".
I minded my own business, did my best to help anyone who needed it, just wanted everyone to get along, and was a loyal friend to the end, even when backstabbed. Then I got manipulated and used by people, got my reputation smeared by horrible lies, and the church believed those lies. Now I'm the social pariah, the crazy one. I'm the one they will go to every awkward length to avoid.
By the Book...
Don't try to come after me for being trans-phobic or anti-sex or whatever. I'm not bashing LGBT or sex before marriage. I'm simply pointing out that MY church is overlooking the deeds and lifestyles of the people in the first part while simultaneously believing those things are wrong and speaking out against such actions. They continue to act like these people are sweet, righteous angels. They pretend not to know that they just suddenly went off the deep end and started acting out. They bend over backwards in their hypocrisy to support these people who continue to behave, by the church's definition, sinfully.
Then in other situations, they choose to side with the aggressors and punish the victims. They don't even justify any of their standings on the drama with Bible verses or anything---partially because they can't, because what verse stands up for parents slandering and abusing their own kid like that---they just support the wrong side completely arbitrarily. And they support them HARD, to the GRAVE just about. Almost as if they enjoy it. The messy divorce story happened about ten years ago, now, and the people at church still throw shade at the kids whenever they see them. The dad, also a victim, who used to be on worship team, is still excommunicated. WHERE IS YOUR "FORGIVE AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR" SERMON, NOW?????
I cannot fathom the mental gymnastics they perform in choosing who to keep in their good graces.

Angel Sanctuary Re-Read Volume 7
We met two new angels right away. The first is the angel of fire, Michael. He's small, he has red hair, a dragon tattoo and a temper. He hates his twin brother so much that he killed the messenger of Sefie coming to get him, but it was okay, that messenger was just a puppet anyway. And then we got to meet Raphael, the angel of wind. He is blond, fucks every woman in his vicinity and he also talks. A LOT! A LOT LOT LOT! He calls Michael Mika-chan which the latter doesn't approve of. What the... these are the elemental arch angels?! Yeah, heaven is screwed. Some of you might say now "WAIT! What about the angel of water, Gabriel?!" She exists, she is called Jibril and is in a catatonic state. Apparently Metatron liked her too much, so people assume that Sefie did that to her. Are you noticing that Rosiel isn't our only villain in the story? ^^ Okay, we remember now that Setsuna died. Like died DIED, so Kira tries to call back to him and Setsuna comes back! In freaking Alexiel's body! I mean, it was his body once, but it is still Setsuna, a 15 year old horny teen boy and he wakes up like "OH MY GOD! I am in the body of a busty beauty! Aaaaah!" Yes, for how grim the manga is, it has loads of dumb humour. We also see more of Mad Hatter and his true name. Belial. A known name in the bible. And his proposal to Kurai? Yeah, it isn't about him marrying her, but he wants her to marry Luzifer! So, huh, this is a sacrifice, huh... Anyway, I have to mention that Noise is still possessed by a demon, but only Arakune knows it, but for some reason, he stays quiet about it. And then Mad Hatter turns up and tells Setsuna that there is a method to get his body back to life. Also, I made a mistake about Noise. That wasn't Arakune with her, but another demon. Well, Noise killed her and she gets discovered by the other ogres. Noise is riling up the ogres to walk against Alexiel, because she's an angel and could be the only one who murdered the ogre (though we know it was possessed Noise). In the meantime, Setsuna tries to cut Alexiel's hair and gets stopped by Kira. Setsuna is like "You all just want her, not me!" and has a crisis because he has so many feelings, far too many feelings, that are not his own.
Mad Hatter returns and we learn that he is not a man. But also not a woman. He is whatever he wants. Soooo, ENBY ENBY ENBY! I just think the author didn't have a word for it back then. Basically, Mad Hatter is a trans masc enby. Well, Setsuna learned about the methods to get his body back. Either he can use the angel of wind, Raphael or he could go into hell and find the spell he needs there. What will he do? Before we find out, Raziel is still trying to communicate with Sara, but she hasn't woken up yet. Back to Anagura. Kira and Setsuna, or more, Alexiel, are having a moment. Kira says he always hated Alexiel and killed her earlier reincarnatons, but Setsuna believe he lies. However, they get distracted by Mad Hatter and then he shows them that the ogres are about to kill Setsuna's body for good. Setsuna runs there to prevent them from killing him, and the sword Nanatsusaya flies in his hands. The ogres are afraid of course, but Alexiel manages to tame the sword and tells them to stop. But then Mad Hatter kills one of them and lets it look like it was Setsuna who did it. The ogres are mad and it is Voice who flees with Setsuna and his body. And then, we see Mika-chan arriving on earth...

Am I just being too hard on my writing instructor…? Y’all I need advice…
He’s old, presumably cishet, and white…that’s relevant because he constantly forgets the gender (even when explicitly stated) of my protagonists (and he only does it to me and on the stories that are M/M; he didn’t do it to the one story where my protagonist was female or to the 2 F/F stories shown in class), misgenders the trans men characters as women (to be fair, he hastily corrected himself on one to “male prostitute”; however, the story never implied that the character was a prostitute), keeps telling me to make my stories about “normal people to make it better” instead of magical realism (mind you, he tells me my stories are excellent+heavily character driven), keeps making snide comments on me choosing “edgy” topics (we also had stories about murder, cost hanger abortions, etc. from other students) or how much i turn in (when the grade also depends on submitting a lot), etc.
Not to mention telling someone to consider changjng the viewpoint of their rape victim story to the rapist, talking about his dead dog in relation to someone’s dead grandmother, the weird fixation on a stalker story and “imagine worshipping a woman this much (to break into her house).”
He also keeps calling my prose androgynous and talks about how my last transman story was “good because gender was clearly defined.” This story was set from the viewpoint of a transphobic gay man and was about the complexity of cis gay man and trans gay man relations.
I had to explain to him racism too.
Like that sounds like an exaggeration, but he didn’t realize a story was about race or privilege despite the second page explicitly having “I’m too dark and strange for America,” constant mentions of racism (ex. Not being allowed to take refuge in certain churches, an entire conversation about immigration, a russian immigrant being told he’ll never be American enough despite being blond and blue-eyed, etc.), and the main character being a homeless Egyptian (read: black) angel.
All he got was “angel plot twist.” He also says I hide too much information, but tbh, I feel like he’s just illiterate at this point…sir, I didn’t hide that it was about America. It’s constantly mentioned in the story.
Also he didn’t realize someone else’s opening scene was a funeral despite the story’s main character giving a eulogy at a podium about her dead wife and the story itself calling it a service.
Also he told me to make South Korea (he didn’t realize it was South Korea despite everyone having Korean names, paying in won, and the one white child being noted as foreign) more foreign.
Also he has a weird thing against all personification in stories. Yes, it can be overdone, but he hates all of it.
He also overfocuses on grammar rules to where he’ll destroy lyricialism and aestheticism on prose. That sounds like bullshit because i’m salty or whatever.
But he destroyed the prose of someone else’s fantasy story when the floweriness would fit. He also told that author to “maybe make it modern day and not fantasy because it’s easier” rather than help her improve the setting.
I’m going in Friday with a different professor to talk with the Dean of Students about him…am I just oversensitive, y’all..? Apparently the professor I’m going in with also got complaints from other students this semester about him…
Is he just weird…

Character Origins: Grigori Rasputin
Tumblr media
Now I’m not saying I myself am the creator of Rasputin. As we all know, there lived a certain man in Russia long ago; he was big and strong, and in his eyes a flaming glow. We know the song. But I came up with this version of Rasputin, this fictionalized take on him, so I’m gonna talk about him and the numerous headaches he has caused me.
Rasputin was always planned to be in the book from the start. In the earliest planning notes he was in the last Order of the Black Orchard before Eve got turned into a snake, and this was the case in the Pokemon RP, where he debuted as a Zoroark… and as a woman. That version of Rasputin could regenerate his body into whatever he wanted, and he wanted to be a girl named Anastasia. Bisexual trans Rasputin? Sure.
Tumblr media
Personality-wise, I decided he’d stay mostly the same and remain a free-spirited, fun wizard. Unfortunately, this was before I bothered doing research into historical characters I wanted to use, which led to several problems. The first was his age. As it turned out, Rasputin was a bit young during the time frame of Dracula’s school leading up to his death, too young to be friends with the nearly 30 year old Marianna. Because of this, I eventually decided Rasputin’s historical origins were fabricated in-universe so he could work for the tsar. He was actually born early in the 19th century and his father earlier than that.
The second issue is his power as described in the prologue. This was made before I’d really established vampire lore or decided Sebastian Darke was going to be the overarching villain of the series, which leads to Rasputin’s power sticking out as exceptionally strange. It doesn’t even make sense an immortal being would have an ability that only activate on death! Expect that to be altered in the next draft, though Rasputin is still likely to have some sort of possession ability; perhaps I’ll make it more like what Danny Phantom does?
The third issue is just the whole prologue in general. I hate how it turned out. It’s a terrible debut for everyone involved, it’s written extremely awkwardly (mostly because I write for every character in it and I have trouble if I don’t have one of my wife’s characters to bounce off of), it uses way too much early draft characterization, and worst of all there were glaring errors such as a bad typo IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH as well as Rasputin referring to Eve as a demon despite it already being decided she was an angel in this draft. Even after touching up a few glaring errors, I still really hate the prologue. You bet your ass it’s getting a major overhaul in the third draft.
My original idea for the original trilogy was that Rasputin would appear in the prologue and epilogue of each book with his POV as a sort of running gag. I’ve come to realize this won’t exactly work, but he’ll at least get the POV in the first book’s epilogue. And really, I think that’s how it should be. Rasputin is a minor character, and I never expected him to be more than that. He’ll have an expanded role in book 2 supporting a major character, but he’s just not someone I can see carrying scenes or storylines.
On a fun little note, I decided that this Rasputin rescued Anastasia from her fate and adopted her, and that she is currently a vampire working for a hunter organization in Russia. Will she ever appear? Probably. I just wanted to have a funny little subversion of the movie that most of us know an immortal wizard Rasputin from.

for #spnprideweek day 1: coming out + flags
↳ summary: cas tells sam a secret that he hasn’t (really) told anybody else. surprisingly, sam has one too.  PRIDE series | gen, sam & cas | word count: 1.7k
[READ ON AO3]
Sam’s grimacing a little at the grease from the fries on Cas’ plate. Cas would usually make a comment, here, about Sam keeping his eyes on his own paper, or that it isn’t nearly as bad as the veggie burger sitting on his plate at Sam’s behest. This is the recompense, Cas wants to say, but his mouth is dry and no words are coming out even if he wants them to.
Accompanying the inability to speak is the twisting feeling in his gut that won’t even allow him to pick up the burger. The smell is too much, too, and Cas hates to admit it but it’s probably the grease, so he sits back a little against the peeling seat of the booth to calm his nerves.
It’s just Sam. He can do this. It’s only that this is the first time he’s telling anyone, and that definitely ups the stakes a little.
Well, that’s somewhat of a lie. Cas had told the nice woman at the grocery store check out last week when he’d seen her little pin on her work uniform and asked where he could get one.
He hadn’t actually bought one, of course, but Cas eyed the small bin full of brightly colored pins on the way out, convincing himself it was stupid to get back in line again for something so small and inexpensive. Still, he’d thought about it on the drive back to the Bunker, and that night in his bed, and the full week following, up until now.
Now, Sam was looking at him with concern, and wiping his mouth in that way that means he’s about to get serious.
“Is everything alright?” he asks, pointedly looking down at Cas’ loaded plate. He’d barely taken a bite, except for a few nibbles of his admittedly greasy fries. And it was weird because since becoming human, Cas' appetite had grown considerably, much to Dean's delight.
And—Dean. That's what this was all about, wasn't it? Sure, it was more than just Dean, it was all the humans that had made Cas' body ache like it hadn't before, had made him think of what it means to be in this vessel—his body—and be attracted to other...humans.
It was odd. In hindsight, things in Heaven had been so much easier in this regard. Cas had spent most of his life clueless to the capabilities of human attraction, and then he met Dean and it all came crashing down around him. Only then, Cas was ignoring it. He was facing the other way, because though he felt human, he wasn't. Not really.
But everything is different now.
Cas clears his throat.
"Well," he starts, "no. I am feeling what I believe you’d call...anxiety. My stomach hurts, I find I'm unable to eat, a-and my hands are—"
"Cas," Sam interrupts. Shaking. Cas' hands are shaking.
Sam's fully set his fork and knife down now, hands clasped together on the edge of the table. "Talk to me."
Cas licks his dry lips.
"It’s not...it isn’t a big deal, really,” and yet Cas can feel his heart hammering in his chest. He sucks in a breath. “But I’m, uh. I wanted to tell you that...I like men.”
Sam’s expression doesn’t change, but he blinks at Cas once from across the table.
“Okay.”
Cas raises an eyebrow, pulse slowing down a little with his next exhale. “Okay?”
Maybe it was that simple, and Cas was worrying over nothing. It’s just...this feels like it should be bigger. Earth-shattering. Like Sam should either hug him or tell him he never wants to speak to Cas again.
Instead, he just shrugs, picks up his fork and pushes bits of his salad around his plate.
But then Cas’ gaze moves to Sam’s face and...Sam’s frowning. Cas feels his heart thumping hard again, waiting for the ball to drop. It feels a little like when Dean sat him down to “talk,” right after he lost his powers, and, well. Cas knew how that had ended. He braces himself for the worst, schools his features to something more neutral.
“I’m,” Sam clears his throat, “I’m sorry you got nervous over all of that. I-I get that coming out is...” he laughs, “usually a bigger deal, but. You don’t have to worry with me, you know? I get it.”
That makes Cas pause. “You...do?”
Now Sam’s looking at him, eyes a little wide, but he works his jaw and gets the words out. “Yeah. Uh... well I guess now’s a good a time as any to tell you.”
“Tell me what?”
The fork is set back down again. The bell over the diner door jingles.
“In college...you know about Jess,” Sam says, jogging Cas’ memory. He knows, so he nods and Sam continues, “Well we uh. We actually met in a Gender Studies class. I thought, ‘pff, easy A,’ but it was actually way more complex than I originally thought, so she kind of...tutored me.” Cas raises an eyebrow, and Sam rolls his eyes.
“Actually tutored me. Whatever. Point is, I learned a lot—‘cause she was a great teacher—and...not just about the class, but about myself, too.”
Cas nods slowly, beginning to catch Sam’s drift. “Okay...”
Despite his tone, Sam’s posture stiffens a little, like he’s uncomfortable, or not really used to this type of conversation. Cas does his best to relax into his seat to ease him, unfolding his arms.
“What I’m saying is,” Sam shrugs, “I’m...not...cis. Like, I don’t....I’m not um, a guy, I guess. Well, sort of. I’m non-binary.”
Cas is silent for a second, mulling it over in his head. Eventually it becomes long enough for Sam to say, “Uh...you know what? You can forget it, man—”
“No!” Cas says, almost knocking over his plate in the process. The silverware clatters as it falls onto the table, and Sam flinches a little. “I was just thinking...I want to apologize if anything I’ve said about your gender has ever made you uncomfortable, or if you—”
Sam’s out-facing palm makes Cas stutter to a stop. There’s a weird guilt settling in the pit of his stomach, and the anxiety that he’d thought was gone is back full force again. Cas tears off a piece of his napkin.
“Cas, dude. Calm down,” Sam laughs. He takes a deep breath, and Cas follows his lead. They breathe in and out together for a beat, and when Cas feels fairly calmer, Sam pushes both of their plates aside.
“There’s no need to apologize for something you couldn’t have known about,” he starts, shaking his head a little, “and you haven’t done anything wrong, either. I still use he and him pronouns, and sometimes they and them. And besides, it’s not like I go around telling people. Especially with, uh, the way I was raised...I’ve been hesitant, you know? It was great in college, people were really supportive when I told them. But then when I started hunting again...I don’t know.
“My dad...uh. I tried telling him, once. Didn’t go too well, so I didn’t try it again. I think that’s why Dean...” he shakes his head, frowning down at the table again. “It wasn’t easy, growing up the way we did. You could probably understand that.”
Cas nods. Under the table, his napkin is shredded into bits.
“I do. I think, in a way, I also understand being trans.” Sam jerks their head up, intrigued.
“Angels...we don’t experience gender the same way humans do. In fact, the concept is entirely nonexistent in Heaven. So, when we take vessels...”
“You’re essentially defining yourself,” Sam says in awe. It makes Cas smile to see them back in their element, leaning forward a little to listen better. “I never thought about it that way, not really.”
Cas shrugs. “I’m not sure all of my siblings did, either. Many chose according to which vessel would best suit them and their form. That was definitely a factor in me choosing Jimmy, but I also found the thought of looking like a human man...greatly appealing.”
Sam’s nodding now, gaze darting to different parts of the table. Cas knows that means they’re mentally crafting an essay right about now, or thinking of what books in the Bunker might further help in their research about it.
“Wow,” he says, “that’s—I mean. Wow, Cas. Thanks for telling me that. And uh, the other thing.”
“Oh. Thank you.”
There’s a comfortable silence between them now, and Cas takes it as an opportunity to sip from his slightly-melted iced tea.
“So,” Sam starts again slowly, “have you told Dean?”
Cas sucks in another deep breath, and Sam nods. “Yeah,” he says, “me neither.”
It surprises Cas a little that Sam hasn’t told him, and he expresses that with an inquiring eyebrow.
Sam purses his lips and dodges the unspoken question. “Dean’s not a bad guy. You probably know that better than anyone except me. You know he’d still love you if you told him.”
Cas’ heart pounds at the mention of the word. When Sam notices, he feels his ears begin to heat with a blush.
“Oh,” Sam smiles, “that. I figured. For a while now, but I didn’t wanna say anything.”
Cas tries to will away the heat on his face. He doesn’t say anything, so Sam leaves it be.
The waitress gives them a worried look when she brings the check, eyeing their barely touched plates. They both smile apologetically, insisting that their food was “great” when she whisks it away.
On their way back home, Cas asks if Sam can stop at the store. They don’t ask anything more than, “we need groceries that bad?” and Cas dips inside. He knows this is just like any other grocery run—going in and out as quick as possible with the things they need—yet his heart hammers all the same when he stops in front of the bin near the door. The same employee from last week is working on lane six, and he’s sure to check out at that one with his goods. She gives him a knowing smile.
Cas flops into the passenger seat, a little out of breath.
“That was fast,” Sam starts to say, before noticing Cas’ lack of grocery bags. “Dude. What d’you buy, air?”
Instead, Cas brandishes two brightly colored pins. Sam tentatively takes the yellow, white, purple, and black one, eyes wide.
“For me?” they ask.
Cas smiles, running his thumb over the rainbow one in his hand.
“For both of us,” he says.

helloooooo!! can i request some headcanons for the demon brothers with a MC that is Non Binary but is afab and insecure about being afab and doesnt feel like they are Non Binary. platonic or romantic either one is fine. thank you. also Jaehee is a Queen period.
I haven’t had Mystic Messenger installed on my phone for like a year and this blog is mostly, if not exclusively Obey Me rn, but I refuse to change my url because it remains true. Jaehee is the best and deserves the world <3
Also don’t mind me casually throwing in some Devildom/Celestial Realm gender headcanons as an intro~
Warnings: Mentions of gender dysphoria, internalized transphobia, insecurity gang rise up. I’ll try and keep it more general since this is meant to be a comfort/fluff piece.
The Brothers With an Insecure (AFAB) Nonbinary MC
As a whole, the Devildom doesn’t really do traditional gender. The variety in demons’ and fallen angels’ appearances makes for such a diversity of body types that markers of femininity and masculinity are easier to disregard. It’s commonplace to provide one’s pronouns along with their name when meeting someone new, and any changes in a demon’s presentation are noted with little more fanfare than a new haircut.
Even angels don’t really get preoccupied with gender: in fact, as MC discovered one day while talking with Luke and Simeon, most barely grasp the concept of what a gender is. Simeon had mentioned that this occasionally resulted in him forgetting the genders of his characters, resulting in TSL being extremely popular among transgender and nonbinary fandom communities.
But MC is not from the Devildom, nor are they from the Celestial Realm. They’re from the human world, with its reductive views on bodies, presentation, and identity. A year in the Devildom can’t erase a lifetime of cissexism.
Some days, it wears on them more than others.
Lucifer
Lucifer is always aware when MC’s self image starts wavering
As someone who has fought tooth and nail to remain true to himself, he understands the struggle of facing resistance to this
But the idea of it coming from within is somewhat foreign to him
Nonetheless, he’ll do anything within his power to make MC feel better
Will calmly, but firmly assert that MC is the only one who can determine their identity
It’s not about how they were born or raised, but who they know themself to be deep down
If it’s their gender dysphoria making them feel invalid, he’ll try and minimize it however he can
Need a different RAD uniform? No problem. Worried about being perceived a certain way? Anyone who stares at MC for too long or even dares to make a comment about their presentation is getting the Lucifer Death Glare.
Physical/body dysphoria? The Devildom has tons of temporary and permanent solutions for that, they can try whatever they’d like
It is vital for the success of the exchange program that all the students feel comfortable and well-accommodated
Also MC is very dear to him and he hates to see them suffering
Mammon
As soon as he notices MC is upset, he is READY TO FITE
Who’s been messing with them?!
What? They don’t feel like they’re really nonbinary? Are they questioning again, or—
Oh. Oh…
Well that’s stupid! What do you mean you don’t “look nonbinary”?! What’s there to look like? Humans are so weird about this stuff, look: you want to know what someone’s deal is, you ask! And their answer? That’s it! End of story, there ya go!
It’s not so simple in the human world, MC tries to explain
Mammon huffs and mumbles something about how it should be, but he can see this avenue isn’t making MC feel better
It seems whatever junk ideas the human world has about gender really gets into people’s heads…
Well, whenever Mammon wants to take his mind off of something, he opts for something exciting! Hitting the casino, making new plans that’ll definitely work this time, maybe even try and pull a prank on one of his brothers…?
But if MC just wants to cuddle and watch some mindless TV or play video games he doesn’t mind doing that either…
Leviathan
Levi knows, without fault, every single TSL characters’ pronouns and identities, if and how they change through the series, and between different media adaptations
He can (and will) list all the nonbinary characters like a gender Pokemon Rap, with special attention on those who match MC’s presentation and/or AGAB
(Not that AGAB is essential or even always available information, but dysphoria is not a rational creature, and Levi is very familiar with irrational emotions)
Would MC say that any of these characters aren’t really nonbinary because of how they look or how they started out? Then why are they any different?
But if something about their appearance is really bothering them, he might have a solution
Cosplay
Well, sort of
Crossplayers use all sorts of techniques to masculinize or feminize their appearance when necessary, and Levi’s pretty familiar with most of them
So if MC wants to try some out to see if it makes them feel more comfortable, he wouldn’t mind showing them! You know… if they’re… interested…
Also double-checks to make sure it’s okay that he calls them his “Henry” and assures them that it’s about the character’s role and personality, and not some sort of gender-based comparison
Unless... they like the comparison? andwouldliketocosplayasHenrytohisLordofShadows??
Satan
Who said this to you, MC.
Names. Now.
Boy gets frothing mad when MC explains it’s a societal and cultural problem, not an individual one, that fuels their insecurity.
If they don’t want to hear an hour long rant about the rich history of human gender expression and identity, they need to cut him off fast
If he could maim the concept of transphobia, he would
But alas, this is not a problem that can be solved (entirely) with violence
So he has to find other ways to show his support
Ask him about any notable trans, nonbinary, or otherwise gender nonconforming figures from human or demon history. He’ll happily tell MC all about them.
But, at the end of the day? In his opinion, there’s one person that shines above the rest
Someone who braved the longest odds, who persisted against the fiercest enemies and even turned them into their closest friends
Who saw others at their worst and sought to bring out the best in them…
*stage whispers* He’s talking about you
If there’s anyone who’s going to believe in the right to self determination and the irrelevance of your origins to your present identity, it’s Satan
And if anyone ever does try to tell MC that their doubts about themself are true?
Just give him their name and don’t ask questions
Asmodeus
So they’re worried about being too feminine? Is there such a thing?
If that’s the case, they can be “too feminine” together
Asmo’s gender nonconformity has earned him praise all throughout his life, so the idea of being ashamed of such a thing is alien to him
But he does know what it’s like to have an audience who expects a specific image from you
And the fear of disappointing them
But gender isn’t a performance
Well, it is, sometimes, poor choice of words: but it’s a performance for you
Asmo presents the way he does because it’s what makes him happy, same with the rest of the brothers
MC shouldn’t be any different
If they’re looking for a more masculine wardrobe or just want a change of pace, he’ll happily help them find clothes that make them feel more comfortable, but his main concern is that they know they’re free to wear what they’d like, act how they’d like, and it doesn’t change who they are
Whatever image they want to make of themself, he can get them there, but only if it’s because they want it, not because it’s what they think they’re supposed to be like, okay?
Beelzebub
When MC first confesses to Beel that they feel like they’re not really nonbinary because of their body, he kinda looks around and gestures as if to say “really? Down here?”
Has MC ever noticed that RAD doesn’t have gendered sports teams?
Yeah, if they separated people by something as irrelevant as gender or Diavolo forbid, sex, people would get seriously injured or worse
There are so many ways to be a man or a woman or a nonbinary person, and they’re not always what you’d expect
Some of Beel’s best teammates and scariest opponents look and act nothing like you’d expect them to
If they’re feeling disconnected from their body, Beel is totally down to work out with them, keep them grounded in all the good their body does for them and that they can do for it
And yes, also the good food their body lets them experience
He also definitely reaches out and gives their hand a lil squeeze if he ever notices them feeling down while they’re out together
He cares for them a lot and just wants them to be happy at the end of the day
Belphegor
Oh yeah, that’s one of the stupidest things about the human world
Belphie remembers being mistaken for a woman a lot when he used to visit the human world, and how confused he was when people got into such a tizzy over his gender
Why waste all that energy on something that doesn’t matter? If you must know, just ask the person and be done with it
It doesn’t matter what they look like
MC is MC
If they say they’re nonbinary, that’s good enough for him
If they don’t want to be touched, especially in certain places tiddy pillow naps, he might get pouty, but he’s all bark and no bite, he’ll respect their wishes
His approach to making MC feel better is more geared towards normalizing their identity
If he accepts it as a fact, then maybe they’ll catch on that people will respect them if they know what’s good for them?
Also, if they hear him mumbling about correct pronouns and punching transphobes in his sleep… No they didn’t. He’s not dreaming about them, he swears...
