I just had a thought (maybe other people had it already, but I didn't see it)
This scene :
At first it's funny, of course, but in fact it's quite heartbreaking.
Why?
Not because Crowley doesn't remember Furfur, no. But because Crowley was silly as an angel.
Do you really see Crowley doind that now? Even smiling like AngelCrowley seems foreign to us. But he was absolutely innocent and playful too.
The fall took all of that from Crowley.
Do you think that it's what Aziraphale heard, too ?
Do you think he see another glimpse of an happier Crowley with this simple sentence?
Do you think that it's what he wanted to give back to Crowley when he asked him to come with him to heaven?

(long post sorry this take is just too out there)
I saw a post that said they theorized that Aziraphale went up to heaven to kill it from the inside out, because in the last bit of season one Crowley and Aziraphale allude to heaven and hell fighting earth/humans (would like to point out Crowley said "all of them against all of us" because of course he considers earth an us, gah I love her) and he came up with a plan to end Heaven, which isn't the bad take, I think a lot of people had similar takes like this, but. They also said they theorized Aziraphale and Shax teaming up and becoming friends and fighting heaven and hell together????? Because she's a duke and he's supreme Archangel, they'll both take them down at the same time and successfully end them on earth????? Crowley's, like, completely out of the picture in this scenario. The reason they think they would be best buds is because they're "really similar" and "both want power" and "think they know what's best for Crowley"??!!???????? I'm sorry WHAT
Shax, who only ever wanted to become a higher ranking demon in hell, and continuously snooped and harassed both Crowley AND AZIRAPHALE and RAIDED THE FUCKING BOOKSHOP is just too similar to Aziraphale, who only ever wanted peace, love, and comfort for earth and especially Crowley?????????
These people don't even watch the show, I think. No, scratch that, I think I had better media literacy of this show before I even watched the damn thing (I wrote FANFICTION for it two years ago and I only actually watched it fully when the second season came out) ((granted I did write a 15k fanfic based on the coffee theory but the coffee theory at least doesn't make Aziraphale AKIN TO A DEMON, it's just an exaggeration of the fact the Metatron did and/or is trying to manipulate and trick Aziraphale.))
Istg you're the fandom's strongest soldier because I CANNOT with these takes.
Oh, my. This is really quite a remarkable one. Insulting to both Aziraphale and Crowley at the same time, somehow (always fun when you get a two-for-one with that).
Thank you for saving me a ton of work - you've done an outstanding job breaking down why this is nonsense.

I would like to apologize for something I wrote but almost no one read. A couple of days ago I saw an analysis of the interview they did with Neil and where they talked about the impact that the requests for "a kiss between Crowley and Aziraphale" had had a negative feeling on Neil, who wrote about that kiss but not how people wanted.
In my writing I regret that the actions of the toxic fandom negatively influenced his work. I described it as Neil's revenge for the toxic requests where many of us were victims of that.
Someone reading tagged Neil asking if he had done that and he responded in my post "No." Out of shame I erased what I had written. I apologize to him if he reads this.
However, as a follower I feel that the toxic requests and the fandom's insistence on wanting to manipulate the author generate negative consequences.
I apologize to Neil for my unfortunate interpretation of the interview.

Technically, we never see them wear the "turtleneck" without the jacket, and the fact that NO ONE in this fandom has proposed this idea is unacceptable
