the thing iI'd forgotten about having trans friends is like. i casually mentioned earlier "bad dysphoria days" and he was like "oh yeah i feel that" like. no elaboration no having to explain what the fuck i meant, just understanding. and i think that's genuinely so wonderful. all trans people need trans friends.

Honest question for trans and non-binary queers in their mid to late-30s: how did you build your social support network as an adult?

I'm turning 38 this year and I haven't had robust friendships for a while but I find myself increasingly in need of, like, folks who I can hang out with outside of my relationships and talk to about things I'm feeling/experiencing as a friend.

As it stands now, my only social supports ARE my two partners, which makes it difficult for me to discuss some of my thoughts, feelings, insecurities, etc. with somebody not intimately tied to those things, you know? I don't like treating my partners as my "everything" (that's a lot of pressure and expectations) and would like to be able to talk and work through stuff through other supports and connections more.

Compassionate advice appreciated! Please note that I am a disabled queer who isn't working, does not own a vehicle, and struggles with both general anxiety and an overwhelming fear of transphobic and queerphobic violence. So, no dismissive "just go make friends, it's easy!" comments, please.

I just did one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’m in tears right now. I watched my best friend @drmothmaam move away for good. She’s not gone forever but for now she is. She’s one of the most incredible people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet and become friends with. She’s really a gem. I’m going to miss her so much but I know this is what’s best for her! She’s in great hands and I know she will be taken care of and that’s what matters!

This is when you both were in middle school before you were dark dating.

Idk when you two asked eachother out, so here's a made up love story between the two of you. Also, yes, this was purposefully write like a dumb fanfic a 13 year old would write, imagine this fic in the 90s anime art style with horrible anatomy. Also read it with a dumb voice in your head.

Warning: you're not gonna understand this unless you're Eli or glue but whatever (I worked way to hard on this for something literally no one's gonna understand)

Pop! Toast flies to the top of the toaster. Morning sun beams hit your face as you fill fragile, paper cups with chocolate milk and apple juice. Kids come and grab them, one by one, not even bothering to thank you. You replaced the butter with glue that you hope to be edible. Whatever, it's fine either way, it's not like these idiots notice. But one, special person approaches the breakfast table, shooting you a smile.

"Hello glue!" Eli greets with a bright smile on his face. You smile as you stare back at you crush, handing him toast with actual butter (that's how you know it's ✨true love✨). Eli actually thanks you, taking a chocolate milk heading off to his homeroom.

Spotting him at the start of lunch, you invite him to sit with you in the cafeteria. He agrees as you both take a seat on the white bench of the loud, smelly cafeteria. You both eat in awkward silence, the screaming of dumb middle schoolers echoing throughout the room. You blush as you both accidentally make eye contact. You quickly look away but he pulls your face back. Some kids give you awkward glances, but you don't care, you're too focused on your crush. He takes you both into the bathroom (and you two fuck, the end) and he smashes his lips against yours. And that's how you both started dating in my lovely imagination.
