A shrine with close ties to the legend of Momotaro featuring an impressive 360 m long corridor

Kibitsujinja Shrine is closely associated with the figure believed to have inspired the famous Japanese folk tale “Momotaro.” Rebuilt in 1425, the building at the heart of the shrine has been designated a National Treasure. However, the shrine’s grandest feature is its large corridor some 360 m long. While heading to the rear of the corridor, which stretches out in a straight line, visitors will be able to see beautiful seasonal flowers along both sides of the corridor. Starting with cherry blossoms in early spring and peonies and azaleas in May, the shrine offers many worthwhile sights, most notably the 1,500 hydrangeas that fully bloom every June in the “Ajisai-en Garden (Hydrangea Garden).” Peach-shaped romance amulets known as “Momomamori” are popular as souvenirs.

Perusahaan Penyewaan Kimono di Jepang Membuat Ratusan Wanita Sakit Kepala

Sebuah perusahaan penyewaan kimono di Jepang menimbulkan kegemparan pada hari Senin (8/1) lalu, dengan ratusan wanita muda yang gagal mengenakan kimono furisode pada upacara datangnya hari kedewasaan mereka setelah kehilangan kontak dengan toko-toko yang dikelola oleh perusahaan tersebut.

Polisi menerima keluhan dari orang-orang yang seharusnya menyewa kimono atau menerima bantuan untuk mengenakannya dari perusahaan tersbut namun mereka tidak dapat menghubungi toko atau tidak ada seorang pun pegawai yang berada di sana.

Sekitar 300 wanita diyakini memiliki masalah karena perusahaan bernama Harenohi, yang didirikan pada bulan Oktober 2008. Wanita di Jepang secara tradisional memakai kimono furisode untuk upacara sekali seumur hidup pada usia 20 tahun yang dipegang oleh pemerintah kota di seluruh wilayah Jepang yang selalu diadakan pada hari Senin kedua bulan Januari.

Menurut situs perusahaan itu, ia mengelola empat toko, tiga di Yokohama, Prefektur Kanagawa, dan dua lainnya di Hachioji, Tokyo, dan Tsukuba, Prefektur Ibaraki.

Miu Uchiyama, seorang mahasiswa yang menjadi korban, mengatakan bahwa dia harus meminjam kimono dari teman ibunya. “Saya menangis seharian … Saya tidak percaya ini terjadi pada upacara datangnya hari kedewasaan saya,” ungkapnya.

Di Yokohama, sekitar 200 wanita sedang menunggu pegawai toko setempat untuk membantu mereka mengenakan kimono di sebuah hotel. Tapi tokonya sudah ditutup sejak hari Minggu tanpa kehadiran personelnya. Selain itu, di toko yang terletak di Hachioji pun tidak ada personel yang nampak pada hari Senin kemarin dan sekitar seratus wanita melaporkan ke polisi setempat mengenai situasinya, kata polisi.

Toko yang berada di Tsukuba tidak memberikan masalah kepada konsumennya, karena acara kedewasaan di Ibaraki dilaksanakan pada hari minggu dimana toko tersebut masih buka. Beberapa karyawan toko di Fukuoka datang untuk membantu para konsumen di hari Senin lalu, namun mereka mengaku bahwa mereka tidak bisa menghubungi presiden direktur mereka sejak tahun baru.

📍Shinjuku, Tokyo One of the fun things about Tokyo is the fact that it’s so large and yet so diverse, with most areas overflowing with people who all have to make do with a tiny place to live, work and exist. That might not sound so appealing initially, but hear me out… Every area has a distinct atmosphere with different types of people walking the streets. And no matter where you go or what you do, every day there’s an opportunity to see, hear, experience, taste or do something you have never done before! You never know… people might dress up as swans and start a mock fight in the middle of shibuya crossing! (Saw that once) or two guys dressed top to bottom in shimmering gold will start interviewing people in the middle of Asakusa (had that happen) or you might accidentally wander into a local festival at a shrine and watch a puppet show, acrobatics, a monkey performing tricks or a noh play.
