But you left him shocked, because YOU weren't scared of his demon form nor his threat of killing you. In fact your fact were bright as day, taking out your weapon and accepted the fight

Until you traveled thru time just to save him, Belphie tried to attack you, which makes you excited. In fact you accepted this threat and ready to throw hands at him

He was surprised how ridiculously strong you are compare to a normal human, it's been hours since you started to fight and yet, you were still hyped, even complement about his fighting techniques

So he just gave up and let you win this one, and head back to sleep— and then also gave up on planning destroy the human world and make out with you /jkjk

When he opened up to you, he finds you really capable, the way you tell him how much you love your siblings and wanted to protect Beel at all cost makes him look up at you with a different view.

So you're very fun to hang out, especially when you're the best person to help him and Satan prank Lucifer 😈

ur journey getting back here was interesting. it reminded me of the absolute ride my little kid self went through watching the old alice in wonderland movie, the 1951 one. the etiquette lessons must've been dastardly to get through. what's the point of learning it if ur gonna have broken shoulders from damned heavy books in the end? u can't practice etiquette with broken shoulders!! make it make sense, hell sovereignty!!!

and also abt the “ah-ah~” thingy aventurine does in his basic atk. i'd like to imagine him saying that to 'chide' onset!reader when they tried to nip/bite/maul him for many and all reasons. but as soon as he did that, their desire to merely bite him turns into wanting to just sucker punch him in the nuts. oh yeah, they tried. (it's a defense mechanism, people. just resort to violence when u get rizzed up. <- for legal reasons, this is a joke. i am simply too much of a sloth to be thrown in jail)

I didn’t really watch much Disney as a kid (a real miracle tbh) because I did grown up things like play angry birds and team fortress 2 (idk what my dad was on to let me do that). But one does not need to be a child to just get throw into Alice in Wonderland. It’s a really beautifully animated and whimsical movie, and while it’s far from being a fav of mine, it’s a really fun movie overall. However, this is something that my dad told me that has forever stuck with me when it comes to Alice in wonderland and Victorian literature in general: “if the book was written by a rich white guy, that rich white guy was definitely doing opium.” Don’t actually know if Carroll did drugs, but Alice in wonderland does feel like someone’s trip LMAO

Yeah…that’s definitely how aven chides them. Although, to clarify, onset!reader didn’t really fight aven, physically at least. Resistance yes, but they both know aven could bench press them without a sweat. But that doesn’t stop them from fantasizing about seeing his guts strewn on the floor (yet they don’t want to actually kill him?), and there are so many times when they just want to give into that urge. Aven practically has a sixth sense for bloodlust, so whenever they do start to seriously consider it…he chuckles, and gently takes hold of the wrist they’ve raised, lightly shaking his head and tutting. What’s that you’re doing, sweetheart? A flurry of emotions go through them, but it ends up in an expression aven is more than happy to think of as a pout. They might just be even more irritated than before, but they’re also just so sweet! Let him have a taste.

as he kisses, them, his eyes are wide open to take in their expression. Their mouth twitches against him, their canines just itching to bite…and, theyre free to bite at him, you know~ they are a bit silly in thinking that he would hate it rather than enjoy it, but that’s your loss for the day, he supposes. Alas, he cannot completely dismiss their justifiable malicious intent, so he dares them. Give him your best, he thinks, Let’s see just how much you want to truly brutalize him. You’re “free” to do many things.

Just don’t get too pouty when he returns it in kind. Anything is fair game, sweetheart.

…but that’s why they don’t play his games. To inflict anything on him is to then accept he’ll inflict it back tenfold. Tearing him apart would feel good, but they don’t want him to spill their guts and bask in the viscera. And, they think, as their lungs begin to burn and the grip on their hair becomes impossibly tighter, if life is a grand gamble, then he would be the final victor. And they’re no gambler.

when he’s done taking what he wants, their minds, deprived of oxygen, instinctively move to shove at his chest. But before they can, their wrists and bound yet again, and a dreadfully familiar tut plays yet again. It’s then, they realize, that he’ll turn any action, any outcome, into a game. but don’t worry! They get to set the pace. However ‘fun’ it is, he explains, is entirely up to them. “And you don’t want to miss out on ‘fun’, right?”

out of all the members, you probably had the best relationship with him

Some of the others held grudges, seeing as you beat them all single handedly

ALL RIGHT BUT YOU ASKED FOR IT

Power of Three as a series is just. full of weaknesses, most of which come down to poor continuity and structure. I'm not gonna try and fix ALL of those, bc that'd be laborious as hell, but I will pick out things that I feel are the most egregious as case studies.

What Po3 does have, tho, is an absolutely shining strength in the concept of its three main characters. After twelve books of Blandly Heroic Protagonist Syndrome, Jayfeather is an absolute godsend. He's angry! He's rude! He's unhappy! He's not nice. I Love Him And He's My Son. Lionblaze has his invincible pride (hah) and emergent bloodlust, and Hollyleaf has her moral absolutism and certainty. These are good starting points for characters. Sadly, the lack of continuity undermines what could have been three really good character arcs.

So! I present to you:

HOW TO MAKE "WARRIORS: THE POWER OF THREE" NOT COMPLETELY SUCK ACCORDING TO MY PERSONAL TASTE; A NON-EXHAUSTIVE, NON-CONSECUTIVE LIST BY ME

ONE

- Have there be a persistant, overarching series threat. Sol is a character with amazing villain potential who does literally nothing except hang around, and do exactly 2 Bad Things completely off-screen. This Is Not Good.

- Instead, have him be present from the second book onwards- initially introduced as a friendly but enigmatic outsider who is slowly revealed across the series to be a complete black hole of a personality, a social parasite quietly rearranging whatever community he's a part of to just-so-happen to benefit him as much as humanly possible. His "preach individualism not starclan" methods are not so much values as one strategy out of many. (to those who know me- yes i have a type. no i will not apologise.)

- Maybe his ultimate goal is to dissolve and centralise the clans or something so that he can live out his life as a political puppetmaster in all the cat-luxury he likes. idk it's hard to imagine overall stakes for this rewrite BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL DOESN'T HAVE ANY

TWO

- For gods sake you don't have a series based on the premise of "the main characters develop super powers" and then only have the second power confirmed by the end of the fourth book. I understand the first book mostly focusing on Jayfeather- his powers are obvious from the start, he's got the strongest personality of the three, he gets access to most of the prophecy plot stuff because of them. But you NEED to have the other two show an interest in something concrete happening to them beyond that, and you need to at least hint towards the other two having something unique to them even if nobody clocks it yet.

- Have Jayfeather tell his siblings about the prophecy by the end of book two at the latest. The amount of time he spends noodling around not sharing it with them is inexcusable. It's not that it's out of character for him to hang onto a secret for a bit, it's just that there's no point and it slows everything down. It would be equally in character for him to go to his siblings and be like "look, i'm SPECIAL. well you as well but ALSO ME". Boy starts off as desperate for recognition, what can I say

THREE

- Have Jayfeather discover that StarClan don't withhold signs or information on purpose for the sake of "building courage and faith" or whatever nonsense. Seeing and communicating the future is metaphysically very difficult, so interpreting signs and messages is a genuine skill, or even an art. The cats of StarClan, however, really are just ghosts, much more similar to living cats than the currently living believe. This is the impotus for Jayfeather's discarding of his reverence for StarClan, which remains consistent throughout the series.

- Have Hollyleaf and Jayfeather both still change their cat careers in the first book, but put place more attention on the fact that they basically switched jobs. Have a scene where they end up yelling at each other, because can't the other see how lucky they have it? The tension breaks when they realise they've both lost something important to them- Jayfeather his chance to prove he's as capable as a sighted cat, and Hollyleaf her path to helping her clan in the way she thinks is best. They commiserate together, and reluctantly promise to do the best they can with their lots, so they don't waste the path the other wishes they'd taken. This closeness is eroded over the series as they disagree more and more on the subject of StarClan and its role in their moral choices and obligations.

FOUR

- Speaking of Hollyleaf! I nearly threw my phone across the room when the first Omen of the Stars book claimed that Hollyleaf "worked so hard to discover her power to help her clan". Where, Ms Erins??? I would have LOVED to have seen that!! Hollyleaf expresses absolutely no concern over the details of what power she has/will develop, and only has a couple of scenes even touching on her ambitions to help her clan. She has some vague ideas about becoming leader and like one scene where she gets to do some leadery things, but that never gets followed up on. What does happen is that the whole "warrior code" thing becomes more and more a part of her personality (for no clear reason) until she snaps.

- Hollyleaf going off the deep end is something I wanted so badly to get into and be moved by, because I could see where it comes from! Her moral certainty is fascinating, especially since it's based in something as abstract as the warrior code- which, when you think about it, isn't really... anything. There's no concrete set of rules that make it up, no traditional wording or cat philosophers, not even any fables. It's a handful of agreed-upon, common sense rules- don't cross boundaries, don't take prey that isn't yours, respect your ancestors, and don't murder. That's it!

- So, combining the above points, I think Hollyleaf not being one of the Three should stay, but both the audience and the characters are given good reason to believe she is. By around the third volume, make it so that Hollyleaf has found that her power is to get cats to "Do The Right Thing"- i.e. what she wants them to do. She sneaks off often to see Sol, who teachs her how to use this power. Her siblings are concerned about this new power, having already gotten a glimpse at what Sol can do, but she's confident that she can only use this power for good. Volume-specific plot happens, Sol manipulates her into causing him to win, she is shocked and horrified, and vows to stick ridgedly to what she knows is right i.e. The Warrior Code

- However, the more fervently she tries to stick to this abstract idea, the less it gives her results, the more her power seems to be failing. Believing that StarClan is taking her power away from her, she becomes caught up in a faith-guilt spiral that puts her in the position to snap at the end of the series. By that point it's clear to her siblings that Hollyleaf has no power- she was just very, very good at persuading people to do what she wanted.

FIVE

- Lionblaze is a girl now because I Said So. This Cat Is Trans And There's Nothing You Can Do About It.

- Her relationship with Heathertail stays the same- childhood sweethearts who are torn apart as they begin to understand the nature of the societal divides that exist between them.

- This can be used to contextualise the whole "half clan/outsider blood" thing as a cultural contradiction. In reality, inter- and outer- clan relationships aren't at all rare. They can't be, otherwise the whole society would be inbred out of existence in like five generations. But if at least one society of humans can spend a good 200 years pretending Sex Is Bad And Sinful Actually then cats can have persistant cat-racism in the face of all logic. Heathertail clocks this contradiction, Lionblaze doesn't.

- Her relationship-to-power arc doesn't need changing all that much either, other than starting much sooner and being more consistent. At first, she's completely overjoyed by her power, since unlike her siblings, it lines up so well with her ambition- become the finest warrior any of the clans have to offer. As the berserker rage aspect becomes more prevelent, she becomes more and more disturbed by the fact that she isn't disturbed by what she can do, and that she doesn't want the escalation of her power to stop.

- Tigerstar still does his thing, but Brambleclaw knows about it. He recognises the signs from when his father used to visit him, and tries to train Lionblaze in his own way. She ends up caught between wanting to be a good warrior, and testing the limits of her power.

SIX

- Jayfeather can stay basically the same because he's my perfect little angy boy and nothing needs to change. His arcs can be strengthened by having a more robust relationship with Yellowfang where they try to out-bitch each other, and coming to terms with his internalised ablism. Maybe he has a chat with Mothwing about faith a couple of times. Him furiously lashing out at being offered help transitions into an acceptence and understanding of his abilities more naturally. He never stops being A Grumpy Old Man.

- All fucking past-lives unexplained time travel goes in the BIN. Doesn't fucking happen. You can have that lore dump sprinkled across the books, or come from going deep into the tunnels and having a surreal meeting. Make it properly eldritch-level scary, shake Jayfeather's confidence in the idea of them being just a bunch of ghosts.

SEVEN

- Have the way Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight present very clearly as parents to the Three be explicitly, textually unusual. One of the things I liked so much about the first series was an almost total lack of emphasis on who was mated with who, and who was related or not. It felt very real to how feral cat colonies form, where raising kittens is a communal job. This gets completely dropped the moment series 2 starts and now the cats have monogamy.

- This emphasis on the family unit and fostering close relationships between parents and kittens is deliberate on the part of both Leafpool and Squirrelflight. Their aim is to cover for Leafpool so she doesn't lose her role as medicine cat- something she already gave up Crowfeather for before she was pregnant.

- In that little bit of backstory, have a robust reason for both Leafpool and Squirrelflight to leave the camp while Leafpool is pregnant and giving birth, possibly one that ties into the present day story in some minor way. I don't know how, it would just make that element of the story a lot more ground than "we left, the kits were born, then we came back and everyone was cool with it"

- When it comes to the "I am Not your mother" reveal, Jayfeather and Lionblaze are confused and hurt that they were lied to, but come to the reasonable conclusion that well, since they were raised mostly by Squirrelflight, saw Leafpool often, and are loved by both, they don't hate her. Lionblaze has something of a crisis over being half-clan, possibly initiating an attempted reunion with Heathertail. Jayfeather is more concerned with how other cats will think it makes him lesser, something he's still sensitive too.

- Hollyleaf, meanwhile, completely fucking snaps at the way her mother Violated Part Of The Code. It's a completely irrational reaction, but expected because she's been growing more and more reliant on The Code for the whole series, and less and less stable in her attempts to aid her clan and train to be its new leader.

- Squirrelflight is the one to murder Ashfur. This is easy to work out while reading- she's literally the only one of the four with a motive who isn't a perspective character. The mystery is less around finding out who did it, and more about why she did it (it's very ambiguous as to whether it was an accident or not). The main tension comes from who finds out when.

- Lionblaze is shocked, awed by how far she'd go to protect the three of them, and reassures her she did the right thing (as a way to salve her own uncertainty over her own longing for violence). Jayfeather makes it all about himself because he's Jayfeather- upset that he didn't know immediately, instead of, you know, figuring it out in a few hours because he can basically read minds. They try their best to hide it from Hollyleaf, who is already rattling around the final volume as a full-on antagonist, but are unsuccessful. This almost costs them something incredibly important- possibly Squirrelflight's life.

EIGHT

- the whole plot with the Tribe Of Rushing Water is a MASSIVE can of worms that could be removed from the series without issue. As it is:

- Characterize the Tribe as uncertain of how to fight other cats, because yes, they haven't had to do this before. DON'T characterise them as pathetic, doing whatever their leader says without thinking, and with ancestors who have Given Up

- Have some of the Tribe be really good at the violence. Worryingly good. Have others be sickened by what they're being asked to do.

- Have some of the clan cats reflect on what they've done. Hollyleaf would be all for introducing this society to jesus The Code, but even she might be horrified at being thanked by a tribe cat who can't wait to get out there and win themselves glory, only to be killed a few hours later

- The Tribe begin a new tradition of marking the walls in the mud they use as camoflage in order to commemorate their battles, and memorialise the fallen. One of the characters reflects on the fact that in a generation or two, the Tribe will feel like it's always been this way. How many of their own traditions- those that feel almost like natural law- started out the same way?

- Have Sol as the leader of the invaders, or maybe having insinuated himself into the tribe as a "mediator" and doing his charismatic cult leader thing.

NINE

- Cinderheart isn't a reincarnation of Cinderpelt. She's just named after her bc Cinderpelt saved her mother from a badger. this is because I think the reincanation thing is stupid and I can't think of a way to make it good.

TEN

- No more using tails as hand gestures like covering people's mouths. Never. None of it. It's expunged from existence.

Disclaimer: I haven't read Omen of the Stars yet, so I can't account for anything that might happen in that series that's grounded in Po3. I'm like... two thirds of the way through the first volume. I'm Not Impressed.

Blorbo - Definitely Arthur. I’ve probably explained the storyTM before but basically Arthur’s my fav for three reasons. One because I just find him painfully relatable at moments (not all the time tho thankfully oh boy); two I think we’d be relatively compatible; and three I was reading the story, getting into it, when I hit a chapter where Arthur screams. And holy shit the VA just went for it (note this VA also voices Childe cause my favs are a flat circle apparently). Anyways I was so blown away by how raw it was my respect points went up by 10k and Arthur’s spot as fav was cemented.

Scrunkly - Isaac. My boy. My baby. He’s just out here trying his best dealing with the fact he’s got the vampire equivalent of anemia mixed with feral boy energy (that sounds cringey I’m sorry Isaac). Look he’s just a painfully shy man with unquenchable bloodlust and the feeling of being permanently separated from humanity because of it. Can a person not want to hug this man and give him all the love? Anyways he’s baby.

Scrimblo bimblo - Uhhhh. I don’t remember the popularity rankings tbh but I think Vincent is overlooked for Theo which honestly I don’t get. Theo’s just a right dick half the time and is definitely better in fanon than canon. Meanwhile Vincent is just a himbo. A himbo with trauma but still a himbo. He deserves to be the more appreciated brother my dude asks permission for every step in the relationship, doesn’t have a death wish, does act like an ass to the MC. I mean to be fair I like Theo well enough, but again. Vincent is better. Sorry lol don’t kill me please

Glup shitto - Claudia (I think that was her name) from Saint-Germain’s route. This route is out here passing the Bechdel test via kidnapping. We love to see it. (Anyways yeah 10/10 I know she’s not a love interest but I’d court her if she’d let me). Sorry if your name’s not Claudia idk man. Also was gonna put her as scrimblo bimblo but this is a much better category.

Poor little meow meow - Charles. He is so pathetic but he also has one of the best character designs. The only fanon I’ve seen is kinda sad and not the best but his route ain’t out yet so who knows. If he is just a kinda pathetic horny man then I guess I’ll just have to admire from like 300 meters away. He’ll still be poor little meow meow though lmao.

Horse plinko - Theo cause he irritates me lmao. He could take some tormenting. He can handle it.

Eeby deeby - Mozart is getting chucked right to superhell. If you aren’t Tom Hulce in the 1984 masterpiece Amadeus I don’t want your Mozart.

Alternatively if it’s for gay crimes William and Vincent and Leonardo and Saint-Germain are getting chucked headfirst into that elevator because you can tell me Leonardo and Saint-Germain were never lovers in their centuries of existence together, I just won’t believe you.

Ikemen Sengoku - The Best Written One

Blorbo - Kenshin. Oh my… Kenshin. I’ve become so enamored with this idiot that seeing him in other routes makes me smile like a maniac. Here I was prepared to endure Kenshin’s route cause he’s supposed to be a yandere and instead I get… a complex (for an otome game don’t get me wrong this isn’t Virginia Woolf or anything) look at mental illness, trauma, and relationships??? What?? MC actively admitting she thought she could ‘fix him’ but she doesn’t cause he immediately spirals? Good writing? Anyways I’ve accepted my status as Kenshin simp. Rip, maybe I do have bad taste.

Scrunkly - Yukimura prolly? Like not all the time but he’s definitely the one that has the most cuteness aggression moments. This poor man is just trying to survive at this point surrounded by murder hobos and that’s really funny. Also he’ll just believe anything. Idiot (affectionate). Note I haven’t read his route so idk but until then (and maybe after) he is scrunkly

Scrimblo bimblo - Nobunaga. Which sounds weird right since his face is on the thing basically, but I think the first route guys tend to be overlooked or seen as boring. Which fair but look this route got me into Go/Baduk and now I play through NHK games on my board on a semi-regular basis and want to find a Go club so I gotta give him props. Also I do like his character even if he’s also a total ass he has good moments.

Glup shitto - Kyubey. Now admittedly I was ready to despise him when I first read his name because, y’know, being meguca is suffering and all. But honestly Kyubey goes through so much shit he deserves appreciation. Mitsuhide better be paying this man a lot.

Poor little meow meow - Kennyo is textbook meow meow. My dude is in like every route trying to get his revenge and he just never succeeds. He also feels guilty about it like 97% of the time but is like “my comrades… revenge…” how about you go back to being a monk so your comrades can go to the afterworld without worrying about your sorry ass. I do appreciate him tho.

Horse plinko - …Yukimura. Or Kenshin. Or Nobunaga. Idk it’d just be funny to see how any of the characters reacted to my personality I think they’d find it obnoxious (I think I’m fabulous tho).

Eeby deeby - Hideyoshi. Is it because his historical counterpart tried to invade what is now Korea? Yes. Am I being petty? Yes. He’s still going to super hell

For gay crimes it’s Kenshin and Shingwn cause who doesn’t love enemies/rivals to we’re living in the same house and only I can really explain to others what you’re feeling (excluding MC in their respective routes but even then).

Ikemen Revolution - The one I’m least familiar with

Blorbo - Edgar. Cause what’s a little murder between evil uncle and manipulated nephew and a family legacy of personal assassins for the king? Look idk man Edgar’s route just hits different. He’s definitely the most compelling so far.

Scrunkly - Luka. I don’t think Luka would survive my middle school. Someone keep this man away from me cause he blushes at everything. He is spiritually baby. Protect this idiot.

Scrimblo bimblo - Uh idk Edgar again? Again I forget popularity polls but he’s not the top three… right? (Watch me be wrong). Otherwise maybe Zero? Underrated.

Glup shitto - I know Mousse has a route I think but so far I’ve only seen him in the prologue. This man seems totally spaced and or half asleep from what I remember and I respect that.

Poor little meow meow - Uhhh. Idk. Whichever twin is least popular because that’s funny (I’m sorry lol)

Horse plinko - Jonah for being a bit of a pompous ass. I liked his route a lot but I think if you stuck us in a room together it would not end well. Someone’s going home wondering who Marx is and it ain’t me

Eeby deeby - Lancelot. Cool motive still threatening to murder MC, multiple kidnappings of MC, generally being a controlling asshole, wiping MC’s memory against her wishes, not telling people his plans cause he has a martyr complex. You get it. I actually kind of softened towards him at the end of his route but flash forward to beginning of next route and I immediately want to punch him. MC should not have let him off the hook so easily in like all the roots. I deserve to throw Lancelot into super hell.

For gay crimes Sirius, Lancelot, and Harr are going to hell together like the messy polycule they are

Ikemen Prince - The New OneTM

Blorbo - So again this one is new and I’ve only played 2.5 routes so far (sorry Leon) but I’d say rn Nokto or Luke, though Jin is fun to read for events cause I am trash. Nokto is prolly my sole fav. I just have a lot of thoughts and emotions about this idiot and I even outlined and started writing a fic for him, one that will never get posted prolly. He’s got a lot of potential and he’s just kinda compelling. Idk. I like him. Yes he is a bit like arthur stfu.

Scrunkly - Honestly none of them really, but if I had to pick prolly Yves. Man is just trying his best to express his emotions after years of rejection cause of his birth and if that doesn’t activate ‘protect’ what will. He is a tsundere though so points lost for that rip (lol sorry I don’t like tsunderes much).

Scrimblo bimblo - Silvio maybe? Idk he seems the least talked about of act two. Admittedly I have nothing to go off of him really but his character design but it is an 11/10 design so…. he’ll prolly be my act two favorite when it comes out in like two years lol (no shade I am in awe with how quickly Cybird releases their games and their English versions I hope staff is getting paid and treated well).

Glup shitto - The bookstore owner. His employees really just disappear into the night but when they come back he gives them back their jobs no questions asked. Respect. (I could also be remembering circumstances wrong but shhhh).

Poor little meow meow - Uhhh idk. I mean I do feel for Rio he is a bit of a meow meow but he’s not my fav. Nokto has meow meow vibes tbh I’ll go with it.

Horse plinko - Chevalier cause he’s irritating. It’s funny cause I expected to like him more than I did, but I underestimated his pompous attitude. So I’d make fun of him, in that Lizzy Bennet Darcy way expect I wouldn’t marry him I’d just talk smack. It’s okay we both like reading he’ll spare my life or whatever (I’m tired lol).

Eeby deeby - Sariel. Man activates my fight or flight instincts I swear. Like his character design is Like That.

Uhh for gay crimes they’re brothers so lol no. I guess the old king for being a manwhore and also a tyrant. He can’t mansplain or manipulate his way out of this one either.

But dont be mistaken, he loves you, he really fucking does, so much that he's obsesed with you

So of course his blood boils every time he hears you rant about how your dad screamed at you, or punished you without a reason

The moment he founds out your dad Is hurting you physically, it's game over

His bloodlust gets even more aggresive if you come to him with a bruise or a mark in your body

You're his treasure, his star, nobody can hurt you but him, and he doesnt want to hurt you, so in that exact moment he tells you you're leaving with him

And of course you dont protest, why would you? You're so in love with him, he's the one that never left your side when you were sad or scared to go home, to face your dad

Hes not a big fan of torture like Feitan but with this guy it's diferent, he wants him to pay for everything, to cry and beg for forgivness just like you did and he never bat an eye, to fear for his life just like you did, except he really wasnt going to make it till morning

When he comes back to you with your stuff and clean clothes and that beautiful smile of his, you cant help but feel relieved

You couldnt still belive it, you were out of your horrible home life with a guy who made you feel so loved, it felt like a dream

You two left the hotel he told you to stay in the next morning with your stuff to finally go to Shalnark's house

After some weeks or months of you being in a honeymoon phase, things start to get odd

Your life toghether is weird because he is toxic but in such a way you dont even realize because of how used you were to extreme abuse

He treats you like royalty, gives you everything you ask for, he makes you feel loved, he's there with you when you have nightmares of your past, and he never even consider hitting you, how can he not be good?

Except that he doesnt allow you to go out, everything can hurt you in his mind so he doesnt want to risk it, his voice and smiles do the trick for you

He doesnt allow you to seek for your other old friends and family, they never helped you like he did so why bother with them? Shalnark is enough for you, you should only be with him, he's the only one that can make you feel zafe anyway

He threatens anyone who wants to talk again, to you so it feels like everyone forgot about you and that makes you sad thus more emotionally dependent on him

He also doesnt allow you to go to therapy, because he wants you to be dependent on him, he wants you to think your life Is over without him, so that way he can have you on his side forever

He cant lose you, nobody can have you except him, he'll make you happy, he can give you everything you want, so he should be enough right?

Overall i wouldnt say your life it's bad with him, but it does feel a little controlled, but he makes up for that with gifts, lovely date nights and his prescence

He loves you, and so do you? So why bothering with the outside world, he doesnt because you're his world, and he should be yours as well

Akudama Drive Character Opinions/Thoughts Pt. 2

Heyo!! <3 Here’s Pt. 2. I can’t believe this has two parts OMG. Remember that these are just my opinions so feel free to disagree with me! This was just a ramble I did for fun. I know it’s different from what I normally post, but hey! I wanted to try something new. :D

Cutthroat: I think I have a special place in my heart for white haired, crazy psychopaths, oop. (Juuzou Suzuya and Rui*) I adored Cutthroat from the very first moment I saw him. [Side note: I’m kind of disappointed that the show went with the pronoun “He” (I was super excited to have a nonbinary character, but alas.] Those little moments in the beginning with Swindler and Cutthroat were weird, but surprisingly wholesome at times and I really loved when he ate the tin of marshmallows, dropped the knife (you know when xD), and pressed all the buttons on board the airbus. I equally loved the serious side of him that showed that he was much more intelligent than he let on (that scene where he throws his knives to reach the button; Episode 3). I just thought that those two different personalities mixed in with the childlike-psychoticness was super refreshing (even if we’ve seen characters like him before). But as much as I love Cutthroat, I have mixed feelings about his death in episode 9. I know some people are angry at Swindler for killing him, but honestly I think it kind of had to be done what with the way that he was acting towards her (love vs. bloodlust. IT'S nOT lOvE). So while I’m definitely sad boi over him dying, I do admit that he was genuinely terrifying during his last moments. (Haha I prefer the Cutthroat that spends his day eating marshmallows, thank you!!)

Brother: Toilet Bound Hanako-Kun anyone? Lmaoo. I liked him a lot. I thought he was a cutie and I really admired the strength/resilience he showed in trying to protect his Sister (something that I’m sure was endearing to a lot of us). I was definitely aware that the two of them were Sus from the beginning when we saw them on board the Shinkansen, but I never could’ve imagined the ending! I originally predicted them being the bad guys of the story and that the Akudama would have to ally with the Executioners. But all in all I’m SO RELIEVED the two of them were able to escape to somewhere better. I loved the role that Swindler played within their lives (even for a short time) and how she helped Brother and Sister show more outward emotions to one another. Also that scene where he was surprised at all the swear words Sister learned was so funny. xD

Sister: I was suspicious of both Brother and Sister from the very beginning and really didn’t have strong feelings for either of them. Sort of like. “Yay kids…?.” But I’m so glad that Sister really found herself with Swindler and was able to become more expressive and more child-like. It hurts to know that these two children can and never will have normal lives/childhoods, so in a really sad way Swindler was able to give Sister a glimpse into a normal life during her last few days. ;-; I really can’t say much more about Sister, besides the fact that I’m genuinely very happy that the two of them were able to continue living on hopefully in a better place. Her moments with Swindler and Courier were so cute!! And the way that she repeated everything they said was adorable. Also. HER OUTFIT slayed. I was so touched by the sisterly relationship that Sister and Swindler had. <3

Executioner (Master): DayUM SiR save some of that badasseryness for the rest of us. He was super cool and I think his entire arc around his death was super well done!! A truly Breathtaking end to his life. While watching the show I definitely acknowledged how strong he was, but overall apart from that I can’t say I really had any particular feelings towards him. I have a confession: I didn’t really react too much to his death (I’m sorryyy I’m a terrible person). I appreciated more so about what he allowed for story-wise, I think he was a great example for the moral ambiguities between Akudama and Executioner/the moments between him and his pupil were great, but that’s about it. I think his final moments were very powerful and I could tell that he cared about his pupil a lot so that’s nice, especially in the context of her character growth later on in the show...which is amazing!!

Executioner (Pupil): I really wished she would have joined the Akudama side. I obviously know that that would never happen, but it would’ve been amazing for her to question the actions of the executioners and change sides. We see that she isn’t driven in the same way that her boss or her teacher were and seemed genuinely affected when the little girl told her that her parents were killed in the riots. It would’ve been so cool to see her fight against Doctor alongside Hoodlum, Courier, Swindler in the train station (Side note: If the circumstances had been different, I don’t think she would’ve allowed Doctor to get her way like that, but who knows?). Another thing I loved was seeing the time lapse between her being a dedicated student to becoming almost a replica of her teacher (scar of some sort with a fierce determination to fight alone), but unlike her teacher, I felt more inclined to like her for whatever reason. I just felt that it would’ve been great to see her rise up against the Executioners and question her own morals further (even if that might have included sparing some Akudama’s lives). But overall, I liked her more as the season progressed. Go Girl!

Executioner (Junior): This POOR boy had it rough. I mean signing on to be the junior apprentice of an Executioner during all of this?! And also the fact that Doctor literally pierced his heart with a needle AND he later got shot (possibly killed?) Like leave him alone! :00 Haha, but seriously, he seemed super nice and almost seemed like the Executioner equivalent to Swindler (not entirely sure what they’re doing/gets pulled into the mess of the Akudama, etc.). I thought he was super cute. :3

Boss: She was lowkey a bad bitch tho not gonna lie. I found her super cool with a great sense of authority...that is until she ordered all of the citizens to literally be slaughtered. I can understand why she issued the first order of having all the citizens be turned into Akudama, but then like just killing all of them that were rioting?? NOOO. I’m not quite too sure what else I should say about her? I thought she was interesting and would’ve liked to see her fight, or her own past (she seems older so backstory of the Executioners would’ve been fun!)

Black Cat (A.I) : While parts of Brother and Sister’s backstories were a little lost on me, I liked the addition of Black Cat as sort of a mini-catalyst to the entire hijacking mission in the beginning. I think the cat had a great presence in the first episode (almost a symbol of bad luck from the moment Swindler finds them...OoooOO). Not much to say apart from the fact that like. Yup. That's a robot cat. [Side note: Sort of reminds me of Monokuma xD)

After the Caleb incident, it was hard to get back to my regular life. Staying at the Trapp Haus became a nuisance: not being able to sleep between the hours of nine P.M. to two A.M., the constant cases Sam, Colby, and Jake would take caused them to really never be home, my job being far enough away that commuting was a bitch, and the fact that Kat was staying over more frequently since her and Sam had gotten together.

I wasn't sure why but Kat was extremely standoffish towards me. Ever since we both felt that spark or shock, it's like she's tried her best to stay clear of me, which is hard to do in such a small apartment.

Plus, I've been having dreams about her. In them, I see her using powers, but not the one she has. She's almost like a witch, casting spells and saving us. We're always fighting something, but I can never tell what it is. It's always just a black blur but it kills us off, one by one, leaving me last.

So... moving out of the Trapp Haus was probably the best decision for me.

After a week of not seeing everyone, I decided I had to go back. I needed to know what was happening with Cyrus. I hadn’t seen or heard anything about him so I wondered if maybe he left, or disappeared for good.

As I entered the apartment, I saw Colby and Mike sitting on the couch. They both looked up at me, Colby standing up first. “Oh good. We were just talking about you.”

“Don’t you know when you speak of the devil, she appears?” Mike deadpanned.

I sent a glare towards Mike, turning my attention back to Colby. “What do we need to talk about?”

“Mike and I were talking, and we believe that you might be in danger.” Colby’s voice lowered.

“Like more danger than before?” I gasped.

Colby sighed, nodding his head. “Yes. There has been an overall spike of killings in the city, particularly in areas that Cyrus used to hang out in. The difference is… the bodies aren’t drained.”

“Couldn’t that just be a regular killer than and not a vampire?” I questioned.

“It’s highly unlikely. Mike checked out one of the cites earlier today and the body was torn to shreds.” Colby remarked.

“Nothing a human could do,” Mike hid a devilish smirk. “But a vampire… easily.”

“So, it has to be Cyrus. Why though?” I crossed my arms uncomfortably.

“Vampires don’t kill for the hell of it, and to waste that much blood would be stupid. So, most likely, he is putting himself into a bloodlust state. When a vampire barely feeds but keeps killing, he will begin to lose his mind. Once he picks a target and attacks, he’ll be almost unstoppable.” Mike informed.

I sputtered. “He’s doing this because of me.”

Colby moved closer to me. “He’s getting ready to kill you. So that’s why we gotta teach you how to defend yourself. How to fight.”

I took a step back. “Wait, if Cyrus is getting ready to attack me, why hasn't he yet? I've been home for over a week.”

Mike grinned, walking towards the apartment’s front door. “Colby's been watching over you. Like an emo guardian angel.”

My eyes widened, turning to Colby. “What?”

Colby glared at Mike quickly, clearing his throat. “I-um. Sam told me to. Besides, I don't really sleep at night anyway.”

“Whatever you say brother.” Mike responded, opening the door and starting down the stairs.

“Like... every night?” I whispered, glancing at Colby.

“C'mon lovebirds! We're burning daylight.” Mike laughed.

“Is there a reason why you guys had to take me to an abandon warehouse?” I questioned.

I glanced around at the dirty building, some windows were smashed out or boarded up. Surprisingly there were lights in the place, but somehow the warehouse was still dark. As we walked into the center of the open space, a table with stakes and needle-less syringes sat next to a punching bag that was badly dented and taped up. Laid out on the ground was a wore-out mat.

“The apartment is too small to fight in. This is where we go to fight and practice.” Colby explained.

Mike flexed his muscles, flashing his fangs at me. “How you think we got this ripped?”

I rolled my eyes. “Right.”

Colby grabbed a stake from the table and tossed it to me. “I want you to square off against Mike. He’s extremely good at fighting, very similar to Cyrus.”

“And… you’re just gonna stand there?” I sassed.

“I’m gonna coach you. Watch what you’re doing and tell you what you can do better at.” Colby stated.

“Alright.” I took a deep breath and walked towards Mike, gripping the stake in my hand. I raised my hands up, staring Mike down.

Mike chuckled. “Come on Jade.”

He began to run at vampire speed, appearing at one random spot of the warehouse and moving to the next, slowly getting closer to me. Finally, he stopped back in front of me, smirking.

“Let’s go.”

For the next hour, Mike and I fought on and off. I would throw as many punches and kicks as I could, but Mike always had the upper hand. Being as fast as he was, it was easy for him to see my next move before even I could. I was getting more and more pissed off, I could feel my heart banging in my eardrums.

I think to some degree this was my advantage.

Mike originally was very playful in how he was fighting, seeing me as an easy target, but as we kept fighting, I could tell something was starting to get off with him. I wasn't sure what it was, but his eyes were dark. Intense.

He looked lost in thought for a moment, and this was my chance to take him.

I elbowed him in the ribcage as he wrapped his arms around my body from behind. I took my foot and put it behind his ankle, pulling him over my shoulder and flipping him onto the ground. With the stake shoved up against his chest, I stared down at him angrily.

"There!" Colby exclaimed. "You got it!"

I turned my head to Colby smiling. I exhaled deeply as I tried to catch my breath, my stance still over Mike. As I glanced back down at him, he yanked the stake out of my hand abruptly, shoving it forward into my side.

I shouted out in pain, covering my side. I fell to the ground as Mike jolted up.

"What the fuck Mike?! What was that for?" Colby hollered.

Mike shrugged. "She needs to learn to keep her eyes on who she's fighting."

"You didn't need to... hurt.. her." Colby trailed off, his voice falling to a whisper.

I stared up at the both of them, their bodies turning towards me. Mike's face changed suddenly. His eyes became crimson in color, veins slowly pulsing down from under them. His fangs extended, his mouth watering. Colby gulped, his eyes slowly doing the same.

I looked at my hand that was clutching my side, blood covering it. The slice from the stake had become a large gash, blood soaking my shirt without me even realizing it.

Mike took one step towards me. Colby grabbed his arm. "Don't."

“What do you mean 'don't'? Aren't you curious?” Mike hissed.

“About what Mike?” Colby glared at my wound, unable to move himself.

Mike retorted. “Why she smells so much better than any other human? Why her blood made Caleb stronger that night? Don't you wanna try some? Don’t you wanna know?”

Colby shook his head. “No, Mike. We're better than that.”

“Yeah but I'm really hungry. And so are you.” Mike grunted.

“Please don't.” I whimpered, trying to back away.

“Why don't we do it? Together?” Mike grabbed Colby by the shoulders. “We don't have to drain her dry, we can leave her alive and just keep getting stronger and stronger whenever we want. Come on, Colby. I know you crave her.”

Mike whipped around towards me again, smirking as he sauntered over.

"No Mike please! Stop!" I pleaded.

Colby jumped in front of Mike, his voice a demonic growl. "Snap out of it!"

He swung at Mike, fist landing into his jaw and launching Mike half way across the warehouse. Mike’s body slammed onto the ground, the noise echoing off the walls. Mike jumped up, staring Colby down.

"Leave. Get something to eat from someone willing." Colby demanded, guarding me.

Mike glanced at me for a moment and then disappeared.

I breathed heavy for a moment, unable to calm myself.

Colby suddenly moved, walking over to the table and grabbing a first aid kit. His eyes landed on mine. His face was normal again, no signs of hunger anywhere.

"Do you want me to patch you up or do you think you can do it?" He asked quietly.

"I-I can do it." I stuttered.

He nodded his head. He stepped towards me again and lightly placed the kit on the ground.

"I'll wait outside for you." Colby motioned.

"Okay." I mumbled.

A silence fell over as neither one of us moved. I exhaled and grabbed the kit as he began to walk away. As I opened it, he spoke again.

"I'm sorry. I wouldn't... have hurt you." He admitted.

I gazed up towards him, my breath suddenly gone. Then in a flash, so was he.

Hakuoki Kyoka-roku Saito CG Character Perspective

Sooooooo…. apparently there are character perspectives audio lines in the 2013 Hakuoki Kyoka-roku vita game…. which I didn’t really notice until after re-reading the translation list from where I found the TL for the ones from Zuisouroku (other kyoka-roku stuff won’t be done til next year)….The format of these posts will be the same as the Zuisouroku character perspectives, and while there are less cgs with voiced dialogue, each cg has 5 lines of dialogue… with 6 cgs per guy aside from Kazama who only has 3 cgs with dialogue (i’d say huzzah for less tl work but some of these lines are quite long).

Unfortunately, I do not have access to the posting with Heisuke’s cgs from this game… *sigh* I’ve tried figuring out weibo’s blog.sina to try and gain access to that and some of those other postings since there’s a posting with 3 tracks (of 7) for a drama that I’m missing similar to the One Inch Samurai that I really wanna have translated (in it, saito, hijikata, harada and kazama shrink due to some mysterious concoction of ishida sanyaku that was in some tea that was apparently meant for ‘waga yome’ according to a message left by the teapot it was in which saito then chose to serve after disregarding the message)…but ive sadly had no luck in doing so since i think the original author of the post made it encrypted..... (tho i do have the cd if anyone wants to help get it translated).

Anyway, this was the post that disappeared from my queue.... though I somehow managed to recover it by getting my tumblr exported. Also, none of these images are mine and I took them off the tl post i found.... maybe if i somehow get to picking up this game will i change the pics (haha.....ha.....).

(Left Hand) Is it really rare/strange to be left-handed?

(Left Hand) The Shinsengumi, which accepted me for being left-handed, is my home.

(Left Hand) Do not take the risk of reaching out to someone’s hand holding a sword.

(Katana) This sword has tasted the blood [literally: “suck blood”] of countless people. (Chizuru’s Hand) Your hands are really small. But these are the hands that firmly held/grasped onto me. From now on, I will protect your hands.

(Body) Don’t worry. I will never become a rasetsu again.

(Body) Even without personally touching with your own hands to confirm it, I will also never leave your side/I will always be there for you [1st interpretation is more literal].

(Body) Whenever you touch me, my heart becomes warm.

(Body) If I lost to Kazama, you would have been taken away by him. Thank you for believing in me. You entrusting your life to me, this gave me the key to victory.

(Kazama) If I was fighting alone, I would certainly lose [CH tl roughly says: be incapable of prevailing/achieving victory]. It’s because I had my comrades, as well as you, that I was able to win that fight. [Although I] clearly said that I would be protecting you, in the end perhaps, I was protected by you.

(Face) Even if samurai no longer exist, and even if the world changes, the desire of wanting to live with you for the rest of [my] life, will never change.

[might say: “protect you for the rest of my life” since the word “守” can also mean protect/guard/nearby and what follows is “终老” which means to spend one’s years - literally ‘until aged’]

(Clothes) I told you, I hope that you don’t pull at my clothes after calling for me….. rather I want you to call me by my name.

(Clothes) Wherever you touch, I don’t know why [but] it becomes quite warm.

(Chizuru’s Hand) If you are worried, I will never wear such thin [clothes] when going out in the future.

(Snow) Before I never cared about this, but I think this scenery/view is quite/very beautiful. I want to admire this beautiful view together with you. Now that I think about it, this way of thinking is lovely. Thanks to you changing me, I am able to stand here.

….I wish there was dialogue for when Saito fell onto Chizuru…. or the following bloodlust cg after that since that’s one of my favourite moments in saito’s route…*sigh* oh well. i’ll take what i can get… I do however like how saito’s scarf is finally mentioned in game…. since the only other time I’ve seen it being written about was done in a blog post translated into Chinese.

Overall, for the kyoka-roku cg dialogue lines…. I think Harada has the most amusing ones. next year though. and after i finish the last zuisouroku cg tl.

Riverdale Liveblog 3x02 - Fortune and Men’s Eyes

I feel like I’m going to be in my Kevin feels this epiode. I mean, I am every episode but especially so when he’s tossed a storyline

Tbh, Betty’s look of exhaustion is more in tune with how I thought they’d interpret “hippie, laid back Betty” on the show before remembering that it’s the CW and that female characters aren’t allowed to look less than dolled up
