NO TIME FOR A CANCER PATIENT AND A PREGNANT WOMAN DISPLACED TO KHAN YUNIS

I made a new post because the last post got a lot of notes and reblogs + donations were falling off. I’ve been speaking with Laila @lailashaqoura regularly, who has asked me to spread her family’s fundraisers. The first is for her immediate family, and the second is for her extended family, which her cousin Tala @talanassar has been helping to spread. These fundraisers haven’t met even a quarter of their goal. I’ve seen people work hard to raise lots of money when gofundme is about so shut down a fundraiser, and I’d say we whouldn’t have to wait until it’s too late, but the truth is, we already have. Laila’s mother is pregnant and struggling heavily, Tala has lost her father while her mother battles cancer, and all of the children in their family struggle with malnourishment and other health issues. They all need to escape Gaza and recieve medical attention NOW. It’s our obligation to help them. If you have anything to give, five dollars, a dollar, money you were going to use to buy coffee or video games, send it to Laila and Tala’s family to help them reach their goal and escape genocide. I’ve also seen other users do this- gofundme doesn’t accept less than one unit of a given currency, so if you truly only have less than a dollar to give, send it to my c-shapp $palentonga and I will split the combined cash between the two campaigns. My account is empty so I know it’ll all be meant for donations. It may not sound like much, but if each of the ~2000 people who reblogged the last post donated fifty cents, that would be $1000 towards thse campaigns. After you’ve donated, reblog this post to help spread it. Even if you can’t help much, or at all, do everything you can to help this post reach someone who can. A Final(?) mod post

Hi everyone,

Two friends and I (Annakie) started this blog way back in 2011. They moved on from Tumblr a year or two after, but I never did.

Except for about a half-year-long hiatus around 2017, this blog has been reblogging the best stuff I could find related to all Bioware games (and occasionally sequels to those games made by Obsidian) ever since.

For the last year or so it's been coasting, the queue was down to once a day and I haven't been adding much in.

About a week ago, the queue ran out. I didn't notice because I've been without power and haven't been on tumblr, but now I'm back, but I'm sorry to say, the blog is not.

I haven't had the time or passion to go searching out content anymore.

So, if there's anyone out there who would like a moderation role in this blog, would agree to keep the content quality high and the blog generally impersonal, let me know. By impersonal I mean not promoting your own work above others, making sure characters/games that are not your faves get an equal amount of coverage, not participating in fandom drama on this blog, not making posts with any financial interest, etc.

Otherwise, the blog will be going dormant for the time being. Someday, maybe with the release of DA4 / ME5 I'll bring it back around. But maybe not.

Thanks to all the content creators that have made this blog what it's been for the last 13 or so years, and everyone else for following and reblogging. Keelah se'lai!

I have no interest in wasting my time or energy answering a bunch of asks saying the same thing, or reblogging a bunch of posts that say the same thing, especially when I've said everything I need to say. Thoughts on akutagawa being drawn with no highlights in his eyes, hair, coat, or on rashomon,,,like everything is drawn pure black? I like when he's drawn a little bit like not-human--contrasts real well with Atsushi's dilemma of being a tiger, personally thinking. Also like when he's drawn like a void. Little bit like the cryptid creachur he is. I think you wrote something about it in the tags on panels in his introduction in the Manga. I like to think other characters also see him the way we see him so his void ass scares the fuck out of others too. Man's skeevin and tweakin even in his design

I'm OBSESSED with Akutagawa's design. Look at him. This is what he looks like on a white background:

And this is what he looks like on a black background:

It's BRILLIANT. He literally disappears in the black. He's the ultimate monster. In his appearance, he embodies what above all is most scary for the human psyche: the darkness, the unknown. The way Harukawa took advantage of the the art rule of never using pure black by breaking it in the most clever way! No light gets reflected on him, because his form absorbs everything– is absolute darkness. Visually, his figure itself is Rashomon eating everything it encounters, and it's genius.

He is so nightmare coded. I love his big, inscrutable eyes that look like two voids, two black holes. I love how oftentimes you can't tell where Rashomon ends and where he starts, I love how sick and unhealthy he looks. I love how he looks scruffy like an abandoned dog. I love how young he looks– way younger than he is. It gives the impression of a ghost, someone who was killed before growing up and is now stuck with his young appearance no matter how many centuries pass.

I adore everything about these chapter 33 pages. The way he initially appears as just a single black shape, hardly resembling a human. His crunched, unnatural stance. The staggering. The way you can feel with your senses the thick and sticky blood. The top picture is the left page of the manga, so just imagine the visual impact of turning the page to be hit with an almost full-black page- it's meant to impress, it's meant to shake. The way he's one with the darkness: no textures on him, only white making out his outlines. The way you can't tell where his coat ends. His left arm hanging numb, limp, lifeless, inhuman. The spurts of blood on his face. His smile, how you won't notice it at first and how that makes it all the more disquieting; its juxtaposition with the violence that surrounds him and that he is the cause of. The way he covers his face, the impressions of hiding and looming. His face being split, which only adds to the horror elements. Akutagawa's character design as a whole is an ode to the gothic and grotesque.

And then this. Hello??????????????? The progression from how Akutagawa used to be to the last time we saw him alive is astonishing. It's upsetting. It really makes me wanna cry from a technical execution standpoint alone (imagine from a plot related standpoint). All the black is now replaced with predominant white, everywhere. His shirt is white and candid and pure, emphasizing contrast with the splash of blood in a way that almost results sickening. The blood on him is his this time. His face looks rounder, and healthier, and he overall looks more mature. His smile is sincere and genuine, it's light, it's affectionate. This scene is the culmination of Akutagawa's character both visually and thematically: the monster, Akutagawa, too, can be good, and arguably had good within him since the very start. Does it really matter if he lives after this? His character already developed to be the best version of himself‚ and this panel here is the proof.

Is it TF?

TF, as in Transformation, is a concept that can mean quite a few things to many different people- and when depicted in art or media, usually consists of some sort of physical or psychological transformation of one thing into another, often including the contexts before or after such a change occurs. 

For the purposes of this blog, the assumed pretense that the TF or TF-adjacent content depicted in posts on this blog being nonsexual in this manner is considered the default, and will be treated or engaged with as such unless clarified otherwise, but there are plenty of ways those who engage in TF art can enjoy it! There are many who consider it a paraphilia for themselves and commonly enjoy it as a sexual theme (as explained and described very well in this comic here), but it is also quite common for people to enjoy it entirely nonsexually, as well- perhaps exploring it under a lens of gender, as a vessel or narrative device to communicate themes, or just liking it as an unrelated special interest... TF is fascinating and alluring concept in itself, regardless of the ways it can be enjoyed and explored.

I made this blog because I love it when I see people unintentionally making TF posts on tumblr. I feel like it happens a lot and I think it's really, really funny when it does, by accident or not. Feel free to tag me in posts or send in questions asking if something is TF, and I'll give my honest answer as an expert in the field myself.

#the reason is ive been thinking about it the past few days and like it would feel odd to draw my family member with a monility aid they #use. it feels like when people draw scar with a mobility aid that he doesnt use its just 'convenient' #wether that be for the artists ability to draw or plot or whatever #and i was admitedly guilty of this too but over the last few years ive realised how thats kind of shitty to do #obviously im not going to police people to draw scar in a chair #he himself doesnt care #and he said hes not a fan of the tubes i think #BUT that doesnt mean i'll interact with posts that do #this is in all my blog and i personally just prefer it when people put effort into making sure that aspect of him. character or otherwise #is represented as what it actually is and not just what is convenient. #dont* i mean mobility aid they dont use* #if you dont draw wheelchairs 'well' then just. do it badly? put time into learning how to #thats like saying 'i cant draw legs therefore i will end all my drawings at the top half' #and never improving. #plus. guess whats harder than drawing a wheelchair? #anyway im rambling here. basically i just enjoy posts with scar in a wheelchair more than ones without therefore thats what i will interact #with. #i still wont like the posts i dont reblog i never do

something about Dracula Daily that can’t leave my mind this year is how much i remember when it started last year, there were so many people saying stuff like “you all are getting into it right now while it’s new and everything and you’re making it trending, but you’ll see everyone is going to drop it eventually, none of you have this commitment for so many months”

and while people did drop out, obviously, the activity of this little “book club”, of the people who didn’t drop out, still made it trend up until the very end, there were enough people who were still motivated enough to read this book in this format that it carried on all the way to November

and now it’s starting again. now people who were sad they didn’t jump on the bandwagon last year AND people who loved the ride so much last year they’re participating again (and it being kept spicy thanks to the Re:Dracula podcast) are STILL participating to this tumblr bookclub enough to make it trend.

There were so many messages about how “you’ll see you’ll get tired of it so quickly”, and yet people made it a yearly commitment

there’s something so endearing about that

#it's the only one of those bookclub that people constantly talked about and kept trending #and i'm at fault too like i subscribed to so many classics that way but only read the Dracula one #mostly bc apparently this is all the energy i have and i was invested enough #(+ the discussions and memes made that going through the tags were always fun so i wanted to stay up to date) #i have so many classics by emails in my emails and maybe one day i'll read them that way #but in the meantime i'm just so endeared by the endurance of the Dracula format in particular #and somehow a bit smug after reading so many people say everyone is going to drop it quick #'drop it? oh you mean make it a yearly event? gotcha' #i'm doing DD via re:Dracula this year and the voice acting really makes me care so much it's unreal #idk if i'll do it fully bc it's still too fresh for me #but it does make me happy to go back into the tags #the mix of 'people's first reading who are memeing like we were memeing last year' #and 'rereaders who are all picking up all the dreads they didn't pick up at first when they were memeing' #is pretty funny ngl #anyway i don't like. actually post about it personally though i reblog some stuff from the tags once in a while #so feel free to blacklist and all #i'm just soft for weird reasons today this website can be fun at times #ichatalks
