she's quite a light sleeper most of the time! her sleeping habits really depend on the situation, because she absolutely is the kind of person who stays up late as fuck if she's working on something (and she is ALWAYS working on something) but after she moves in with her wife, she gets a LOT more sleep because her wife is there to tell her to go to sleep

💭 THOUGHT BALLOON — what is your oc's MBTI, enneagram, and/or other personality aspects (if known/interested in)?

she's an INTJ, 8w7, and chaotic good - which definitely surprises a lot of people since they would expect her to be lawful good

yeah, she has a tattoo on her shoulder that's matching with her wife and her wife's best friend - they got matching tattoos as a trio when they were 18 and it's SO CUTE

hmmmm this is tricky because everything I can think of has at least some positive or negative connotations.....

okay I googled "neutral character traits" for some examples so here are the three I found that are 100% her

confident (very good in many situations but can come off as arrogant), ambitious (a lot of her character arc is figuring out how to balance her high ambitions), and sarcastic (sarcasm is literally her first language lmao)

ooooh this is another tough one because she considers most of her closest friends to BE her family in some capacity - like, her best friend is also her brother-in-law, one of her other friends is her platonic co-parent, and so on!

BUT if she had to choose just one she would choose her family - specifically her siblings, because her parents are shitty, and when they were all growing up she developed the habit of ALWAYS protecting her siblings as much as she could

Harper: won't give up the maze map when others ask to see it even though she's definitely not reading it right and she hasn't managed to make literally any progress.

Valentine: gives up. just storms through the corn growing and hops the fence. she wins.

Malachi: blindly follows the leader (Harper) for a while before getting even more lost. somehow finds the exit first but ends up having to wait a long time for everyone else to get out.

Copernicus (Nic): doesn't even get lost once. he strikes out on his own because he grabbed his own map at the start of it. came prepared with snacks and water. never backtracks even once.

Blair: eats the corn. they offer literally zero help. which is how they like it.

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

“I’m a twin”, Damian said one night. He could feel the narrowed eyes of his family drilling holes on his back in disbelief. Not that he could blame them. Damian had never so much as implied being raised with a companion, much less a sibling.

“I had a brother”. Damian paused to recollect himself. He had not said his brother’s name out loud in over 8 years.

“His name was… Danyal”. Damian hated the way his voice wavered, but he could not help it. Danyal was everything to him, his other half. Their heart beat as one and when one heart stopped beating, the other one died with it. At least until his family put his heart on metaphorical life support without ever realizing.

“Where is he now?” His father asked, voice filled with knowing grief and a hint of betrayal. It had in fact been 6 years since Damian first showed up on his doorstep.

“Up there”. All eyes shifted towards the specific star he was pointing to. “Right before he died, he promised me he’d guide me from the stars. Unfortunately, the stars are not visible in Gotham, so my brother is unable to be of much help unless I leave the city.”

“Your brother is Polaris, the North Star?” Tim questioned warily, most likely in attempts to not offend him. Damian was aware of how stupid it sounded, but Danyal had promised, and his brother never broke his promises.

“Yes. Danyal is with the stars now, just as he always wanted”
