ok ok ok . one last moment of insanity (probably) and then i will move on and stop talking about this (probably) but like . i remember first seeing some of caiti's stream and being so scared that he'd done something horrible and looking at clips of this girl sitting there in tears as she described what had happened to her and being so full of empathy and sorrow and shame and now im just like . 😐 idk i think a lot of her original language made it seem like he'd done something different like idk stuck a hand in her pants or groped her or something when that just wasn't the case and then further statements and comments from her and ghostie and other ccs were nothing but inflammatory and fundamentally rooted in the belief that he had SA'd her when that just . wasn't the case. and it really makes me think about things like bias and performative behavior as a whole and how it all comes together to create these people who so many young adults especially look up to who believe that this sort of behavior or whatever is ok slash acceptable and are PRAISING them for it and . idk . it just makes me really really sad

I didn’t want to post about this until we actually saw a vet, but last Saturday night Acorn randomly started staggering around like he had no coordination in his back legs. He literally got up from the couch, walked to his water bowl, and looked like he was drunk. The incident lasted about 20 mins. By the time I was on a video call with a vet he was mostly back to normal— I thought he was a little wobbly but she didn’t see it. The dr. walked me through an exam and concluded it didn’t seem like an emergency. So I stayed up all night with him and he didn’t get worse. By morning he seemed fine, just maybe a little quieter than usual.
Of course my vet was short staffed this week and couldn’t get us in until today. So I had several days of fretting about what was wrong and if he had some sort of disabling back injury or neurological conditions or what have you.
So he finally saw the vet and she concluded that he seems totally normal. So the good news is that she was able to rule out all of the really scary stuff but the bad news is we still don’t know what happened or if it could happen again. We are doing bloodwork so it’s possible something could turn up there was the dr. didn’t seem to think that was likely. Right now the best guess is some sort of weird muscle spasm or possibly a seizure but there’s no way to really know. I’m still a bit anxious but I can’t complain about the outcome. And Acorn is VERY happy he’s been cleared to return to normal activity.
