bet you thought tuesdaypost was cancelled!
psych! we're back to shabbosposting, for a number of reasons:
if i call it shabbosposting i can post it on friday OR saturday. two days worth of possibility
i got too much damn stuff to do on most tuesdays to justify sitting down and writing a weekly roundup post. by friday my brain is sufficiently sludge enough that i really don't lose anything by spending 90 minutes doing this instead
and so:
listening: we BACK on the synthtober grind!!! also been listening to my horn concerto playlist to try and trick myself into practicing them again.
i'll be done with road to partizan by the end of the weekend, i think - i have about 15 minutes left of episode 9! i've been really really enjoying these mini games, more in the sense of letting them wash over me.
reading: oh this is gonna be a beefy one. i have read. a lot of (mostly explicit) fanfic. if living can be this (leosbunny & Lise) yeah i read the. whole thing. all ~180k words in. . . [checks ao3 history] two days <3 specifically last friday and saturday. oops! the devil finds work for (Fahye) my friend went to a wedding and met this author there! i was like oh i've never heard of this person. friend said "fahye has written one million things for every fandom" and boy howdy is that true! so i read this the man from uncle (film) fic, very nostalgic, i do love that movie. i also read all of fahye's MDZS works. fun aus! mostly wwx/lwj with a smattering of lxc/jgy. watching: fallow this week. some evan and katelyn on youtube i guess?
making: almost done with my laptop case! i also finally have mentally committed to redoing the stupid straps on the tank top i may never wear because it's a little tight on me. :( no photos yet but some stuff came out of the kiln to be glazed which is very exciting! i also made a little 6-well watercolor mixing palette, just gonnna glaze it plain white and hopefully get some good use out of it!
misc: halloweekend........i don't have a costume yet :") probably just going to nebulously be a witch, i guess? i really didn't have time to put together something fun this year...my roommate is being elegant mothman for a costume wedding she's going to next week which i will definitely steal for a future halloween. but for this year. blah. just wasn't really inspired by anything. a group of people are going to to various local halloween events downtown both tonight AND tomorrow and frankly i do not have that kind of energy! i will probably go out tomorrow night but tonight i might just play magic the gathering :x

tldr on that Evan and Katelyn video and the long ass post i made about it instead of doing the stained glass thing i wanted to today: the craft kit ended up costing them 130ish$usd and they needed less than 107$ worth of supplies for the pattern Katelyn made and would have had enough excess they could have made it a few more times. They spent 698 on supplies for the pattern Katelyn made.
It bugs me because it's a Very unrealistic idea of the actual cost of the hobby and will turn people off of it because they think they need that much actual garbage to get started. You don't. you really really don't.

for the artist meme: 1, 5, 7, 16
Art programs you have but don’t use: krita, affinity photo. i used to have medibang but because errors i could not install it on my laptop. the desktop is ded
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself: ehhehehheh i do not post a lot of my art. maybe 10% gets posted. i feel like i've only gotten weirder about posting sketches since my digital doodles always get more tumblr attention than my pencil sketches. and i also have art i would not post most places i post. but anyway.
7. A medium of art you don’t work in but appreciate: resin! i watch evan and katelyn on youtube and they like resin. a lot. (do do do do resin time)
16. Something you are good at but don’t really have fun doing: i'm not sure. i don't really do stuff i don't like which is why i still have a lot stuff i need to practice more

Headphones was relaxing at home, wearing their usual casual home clothes. Their headphones were in her room placed on her nightstand. There wasn’t really any use of having her headphones on at home unless if she’s on her phone. Other than that, she doesn’t wear her headphones at home.
Headphones was casually watching YouTube in her living room in the sofa, watching DIY YouTube channels that caught her interest, such as Evan and Katelyn, those two really peaked her interest (me too girl. 👀).
She was watching one of the recent UV Resin videos that the YouTube couple has posted, at awe at the masterpieces on the screen before her.
(Hi pix! @headphones--anon sorry if this is late btw! For some reason it didn’t show up )
Kasey was bored very bored she was currently all alone seeing as punz still had a few days until he got back from his mission and while she could’ve worked on the surprise pool she just wasn’t up for it and instead decided to go visit headphones to get more well acquainted with her!
She slowly walked up to the door and knocked shyly as she awaited the answer she fiddled with the chain around her neck pouting slightly as she started getting into her head again thinking about how much she misses punz

When you get this, pretty please respond with five things that make you happy! :D Then, send this to the last ten people in your notifications (anonymously or not). You never know who might benefit from spreading positivity :)
Thanks for the positivity, anon! Let's see, here's some things that are currently making me happy...
1. Making really good progress on my fandom event wips. I wrote over 5k on my big bang that I've been struggling with for months, and the end is in sight for one of the reverse bangs I'm part of, and I'm really hoping to get that one done ahead of schedule (...because I'm signed up for another reverse bang too). I've written random other things in an effort to procrastinate on the wips, but that's okay, writing is happening, progress is happening, it's really such a relief and that's cheering me up lately.
2. Evan and Katelyn on YouTube! They're a DIY/maker channel and they're husband and wife and they're so goddamn adorable and funny and in love, their videos are really brightening my days, even though I've already seen them all and I'm cycling back around and rewatching them now.
3. Chatting with friends every day. Between discord and twitter and DMs and groupchats, I just like to keep updated with people that I enjoy. 🥰 It's very cheesy but it's true; if you catch me liking your personal posts it's because I like seeing what's going on in your life. Also I find it so hilarious that I have conversations with two different friends going on like three platforms each. Same people, different convo for every platform.
4. Those little spiral telephone cord hair ties, which I recently tried for the first time and fell in love with. Also I just dyed my hair blue and green the other day and it didn't come out super vibrant, but it is at least better than the dingy grey/blonde/dust color it had faded to before. So it's more fun to see myself in the mirror now!
5. I ordered a produce box from local farmers and I won't have my first one for another week but I'm super excited about a) supporting real people in more ethical and sustainable way, b) not having to shop for produce so often, and c) hopefully trying more of a variety of fruits and veggies than I would normally choose for myself at the store! I hope it goes well, I decided to try the subscription for a month or two and then evaluate if it works for me.

*Getting To Know The Mun*
 Name: Katelyn
Nickname: Katie, Kitty, and an old partner used to call me Evans (because she was my Prongs)
Faceclaim: For my OOC posts? Candice King on here... it used to be Cher Lloyd on my old blog
Preferred Pronouns: She/Her
Height: 5’2 1/2” THE HALF IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME
 Birthday: September 18th
Your Aesthetic: Extroverted Introvert. Comfy sweats, hoodies, books on books on books, spiced apple cider, halloween, cupcakes
Last Song Listened To: “Truth Hurts” By Lizzo because i’m 100% that bitch
Fave Muse(s) Written: EVER? Like EVER EVER? I mean shit I’ve been rping since I was 13 (shout out to MSN groups). Do you have any idea how many muses I’ve had in almost 16 years? A fuck ton. I mean Cassandra Troy, Luna Winter, Nicola Krum, and Adeline Quinn will always have a soft spot in my heart. I fucking miss them sometimes and I’m glad that I have some partners and I can still write OG Cass and Luna. (FYI those two are on this blog just as side muses because I couldn’t get rid of them fully when I left @theharpieoftroy and @bewarelittlered )
*Getting to Know The Account*
What inspired you to take on these muses? I wanted something new and didn’t want to put them on my other blogs so I created this one. Originally it had two women and two men living in a boarding house together and that happened for like a year before I switched to my current ladies about a year ago. I wanted complex fun women and I keep adding more because I have no chill.
Fave Aspects of Current Muse(s): I have too many to list one by one so I’m gonna go with Izzy right now because she is 100% that bitch and doesn’t take shit but she’s soft on the inside and people don’t really get to see that. She needs more sweet stuff because honestly she’s not that bad just has a hard shell.
What’s your biggest inspo when it comes to writing? Being able to write what I want. I constantly have ideas and I’m lucky to have partners that want to write them with me, but 100% I get nervous and keep a lot of them to myself
Fave types of threads? ANGST. Oh my god I’m a sucker for angst. By I also like fluff and smut (plus taboo is fun) But i’m all about the angst.
Biggest struggles in regards to your current muse(s)? Only having muse for some of them. Daphne is a hard muse to get to so I don’t write a lot with her but she also only has like three threads so that could be why too.

Man tied to Matt Gaetz's extortion allegation says lawmaker is 'trying to direct attention from himself'

Man tied to Matt Gaetz's extortion allegation says lawmaker is 'trying to direct attention from himself'
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bob Kent, a former Air Force intelligence officer, told Appradab’s Chris Cuomo on “Prime Time” that — despite Gaetz’s claims — he never tried to extort money from Gaetz’s father, and that such claims are not part of the Justice Department investigation into allegations involving sex trafficking and prostitution.
“There were no threats,” Kent said. “There were no demands.”
Appradab has reached out to Gaetz’s office for comment on Kent’s interview.
The Washington Post reported last week that Gaetz’s father, Don Gaetz, was presented with a proposal by two men to help his son if he donated a sum of money to fund the effort to locate Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent kidnapped in Iran, it could help his son’s situation.
The Washington Examiner later said it had obtained documents in Matt Gaetz’s possession purporting to lay out the alleged extortion scheme. The documents included a text message — which Don Gaetz told the newspaper was from Kent — saying the sender could make Matt Gaetz’s “future legal and political problems go away” and an unsigned document titled “project homecoming.” The document had no markings indicating the author.
That document suggested the FBI “became aware of compromising pictures” of Matt Gaetz and another election official involved with “underage prostitutes” during an unrelated investigation into political corruption. It suggests that Don Gaetz can mitigate his son’s potential legal troubles by arranging for the funds needed to release Levinson from captivity in Iran.
But Kent — who acknowledged sending the text in the interview with Cuomo — maintained Monday evening that his communications with Don Gaetz weren’t part of an extortion plot.
“When I left, the last thing I told Don Gaetz was that you’ll never hear from me again. I’m not a threat to you or your son. I won’t talk to the press. I’m not going to say a bad word about him,” he said.
Matt Gaetz has named former Department of Justice prosecutor David McGee as being involved in the alleged plot as well, something McGee denies.
The Florida lawmaker began pushing his claims of extortion after it became public that the Justice Department is investigating him over allegations involving sex trafficking and prostitution, including involving a minor, according to a person familiar with the investigation.
Federal investigators are examining whether Gaetz had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl, Appradab and the New York Times have reported. The Times first disclosed the investigation into Gaetz.
A person briefed on the probe confirmed to Appradab that federal authorities were investigating Gaetz as part of a broader probe into trafficking allegations against another Florida politician, an investigation that began in the closing months of the Trump-era Justice Department under Attorney General William Barr.
Appradab has previously reported that investigators are examining whether Gaetz’s involvement with other young women broke federal sex trafficking and prostitution laws, according to the person briefed on the probe and another person briefed on the matter. Investigators are also pursuing allegations from witnesses and other evidence that Gaetz may have used cash and drugs in his dealings with young women, the sources said.
Gaetz has not been charged with any crimes and has called the allegations against him false. The Gaetz investigation is still in its early stages, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Appradab’s Evan Perez, Jeremy Herb, Ryan Nobles and Katelyn Polantz contributed to this report.

Internationaux de France commentary FS/FD
Hey y'all, it was a football game day on Saturday and my friends birthday so i basically died. And didn’t have that much time to watch skating. But I kept up with scores and as much as I could, but I decided to wait and post this on Sunday after the exhibitions so I could do both.
First off: oh shit at Shoma Uno. I know he has been fighting illness for the last few weeks and hasn’t been training nearly as much as he should be, but I haven’t seen him skate that off in honestly years. It wasn’t even his jumps, which were rightfully downgraded in GOE for his flutz, touchdowns and under rotations… it was his performance. He lacked his normal spark. He ended spins early, added extra ones after Jumps, didn’t fully extend… I’m worried for him. He has obviously claimed his place at the GPF but I have no idea what to expect for him the rest of this season.
Obviously Javier wasn’t nearly as “on” as last night (his quad salchow-double toe, his quad salchow, triple flip, triple Axel and his triple combo), but this is still such an amazing contrast between his showing in China. Even though he will not be advancing to the GPF, he cannot be counted out this season.
Okay so when I saw the results / scores before I watched the programs, I almost SCREAMED when I saw Misha Ge win bronze. But seeing his amazing and clean skate with a new personal best AND a standing ovation?!?!?!?!? I almost cried. (I was in the middle of doing makeup so I literally couldn’t let myself cry). What an amazing show. what an amazing choreographer. What a class act. What a guy to Watch.
Alexander Samarin: honestly this season, out of the “masculine” costumes for the men, his are definitely my favorite. Very fitting and well fitted. Also his interpretation of The House Of The Rising Sun is so much better than it was in Canada. He’s not perfect yet, and still had a long way to go, but he has had a very strong Grand Prix season and that is very commendable among this tough crowd of men’s skaters. Of course he won’t be making the GPF (if anyone with 20 points makes the GPF, it’ll be Javier first and Misha second based on points) but he still has a shot at the Russian National team and I’d love to see him there. Also personally, I wish he had added some scratch spins instead of the overload of sit spins at the end of the program, and I think it would have fit a lot better, but that’s just a personal preference.
Alexei Bychenko: I AM SUCH A SUCKER FOR PERFECTLY TIMED JUMPING PASSES AND HIS FIRST 4T-3T was PERFECT AND SO SATISFYING. This is such a strong and hard hitting program, but his transitions and entrances seemed a lot more rushed and frantic than they did in Osaka last week, and by the second half of the program he just looked exhausted and like he wanted to get off the ice. If he hadn’t popped his Loop, his Toe Loop on the 3A combo or his Lutz … he could probably have shaken off Samarin for 4th.
Moris Kvitelashvili: I love the composition of this Imagine Dragons program. It is perfect for his style of skating and very different than every other man in the field. Even though he had some falls and popped some jumps, it was still very entertaining. Especially for only being assigned one GP event (and being added to the rostelecom cup), he really had a great showing this season.
Dammit I was literally like ‘okay I watched 1-5 and I love them, ghats everyone I care about so I can go watch the ladies, right? And then I forgot Max Aaron and Denis ten and Vincent Zhou were in France too and I was so mad cuz I have so much to watch.
Max Aaron: 😭😭😭 this has still been such a great season for him, but I’m a bit upset he didn’t place higher. He popped his salchow and he underrotated his quad toe, but his components were still great, especially his Axels. Even with this score, he has definitely made a case for the Olympic team, and I feel it will be a really tough race at nationals.
Denis Ten: I was really melancholy about his free skate… I love Denis and he is such a beautiful and graceful performer, but he no longer has the strength or stamina for the jumps he is attempting. Even his spins were off axis, and I was worried he would fall on choreographic elements and spin combos. I really wish he had taken a page out of Misha Ge’s book and focused on what he knew he could do well. even if it wasn’t as technically difficult. He did perfectly fine on his triples, but his quads and his Axel were what messed him up to get -2.0 in deductions and -9.67 in GOE. It is a gorgeous program with Stunning music, but he will just keep falling in ranking and scores (and hurting himself) if he keeps this up.
Vincent Zhou: yikes I really wish he had a different costume. Like I know he is trying to compete and prove himself a competent enough skater as Nathan Chen, but with his jumping style AND his costume, he literally looks like he is trying to copy him. He did a lot better than in his short, but I really really wish he had gone a little easier on himself for his senior debut since he doesn’t have the maturity of movement enough to fill the music or the transitions in between technical components. I really hope he uses the tine in between France and nationals to work the kinks out of his programs… because if you are attempting 4 quads, but fall on 2 with another under rotation, as well as downgrading 3 other jumps… it is way too difficult of a program for you.
Alina Zagitova: from her short to her free skate, Alina was literally a different skater. A complete 180°. This is what we saw at her debut that I was so enthralled with, and what makes her a contender not only for foe GPF gold or the Russian national team, but for an Olympic medal. Well deserving of her gold and her personal best. I am still genuinely worried after her short program, because of consistency issues… as well as praying and hoping that what happened with Yulia Lipintskaya (and many other Russian ladies) doesn’t end up happening with Alina.
Katelyn Osmond: even though she obviously fell from 1St to 3rd with her free, I think this skate was better performed than her short. Her first jumping pass was phenomenal, what a Triple Lutz, and her 3S-2T-2Lo was so quick and crisp. The problem was after her fall on her Triple Loop, her face and energy immediately fell like 2 notches; which left her with not nearly enough power to fully perform the high of the music to the best of her ability. I feel like even with her fall, if she hadn’t popped her Axel, she probably would have walked away with silver.
Maria Sotskova: very graceful skate. With her costume, movements and hair, she reminds me of another classic ladies skater but I can’t out my finger on who. Not the most entertaining or engaging from an audience stand point, but a very quality skate deserving of 2nd. Personally, I would have given her her transition score for her performance score on PCS, but she wasn’t heavily overscored. Very quality jumps and extension.
Elizabet Tursynbayeva: I still love this program for her. Pure and innocent while still powerful and graceful. Amazing improvement since Canada. She absolutely deserved her 3rd place free skate score. Especially while competing against such powerhouses. Beautiful jumping technique and fluidity. I legitimately almost cried at her 2A-3T-2T because it was so crisp and clean. Immediately followed by another 2A-3T with arms aloft in the second half of her program is such a strategic use of her strengths and I absolutely commend Brian Orser for these components.
Yuna Shiraiwa: her dress is gorgeous on her, and I’m not a huge one shoulder fan, but it makes her look mature and athletic and it is a great fit for her. Not the best I’ve seen her skate, but outside of her fall I honestly think she was underscored (yes I know she had an edge call and an underrotation, but they were not large GOE deductions). Sure, she needs to work on her flexibility if she is going to include extensions, beilmans and split leaps, but it was still a very strong skate.
Nicole Schott: I originally wasn’t gonna watch her free UNTIL I SAW THAT A GERMAN SKATER WAS SKATING TO SCHINDLERS LIST. AAAAH.
Is it bad that since I’m not a huge fan of pairs that I decided to watch their Frees just because the silver and bronze medalists had amazing costumes??
Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres: what a program. The vulnerability of the music combined with their dynamic and chemistry was perfect. I am absolutely obsessed with Vanessa’s jumpsuit too. Their jumps and tosses aren’t the best in pairs, but their lifts and spins are TOP NOTCH. What a great showing they had at home and on their way to the GPF. Their final spin and choreographic sequence was so in sync I literally said “wow” probably 4 times. Absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely deserving of 1st place.
Nicole della Monica/Matteo Guarise: I am OBSESSED with their costumes. Completely matching outfits with such drastic color blocking and even matching hair works so well for this piece. I originally wasn’t sold on their performance for the first half (although part of it was definitely being disappointed with Matteo’s fall on the combo) but the change in music brought such an interesting element to it, and it was completely different from start to finish.
Madison Chock/Evan Bates: beautiful. Perfect. You look like Linda evangalista. Your smile is wonderful. No words.
Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron: you can never go wrong with Moonlight Sonata and you can never go wrong with then, so it was of course amazing. Also their medal ceremony was so adorable and the crowd ROARING was amazing.
