What made you ship it?

so... I have a very specific list of qualities I look for when it comes to my favorite male characters. And Grimmjow fit them all 😂💕

When I first watched Bleach the only thing I shipped was IchiRuki, bc naturally that was the only way to go for me tbh, but then Grimm appeared and I was obsessed. When it comes to otps for me, first I find a fave character, then I consider the possible pairings. Not any other way. And with Grimmjow... well the only option for me was Ichigo tbh.

Not to discredit any other Grimmjow ships, I've done a few of them myself, but with how passionately these two throw themselves at each other I truly couldn't look any other way. Lol

So tldr; Grimmjow's got slut potential and I dig that, and they're too into each other for me not to see "gay" plastered all over them 💫

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

Hmmm 🤔maybe how inherently feral it is, canon-wise. Also how harmonious their overall designs are together, there's nothing nicer than a pair that looks good together, at least as an artist. Also how easy they are (for me at least) to write/draw; I have a hard time focusing on one thing for long enough to get good at things (hence the many AUs lol!) so for me to have a ship I draw constantly for more than four years now... is truly astounding lmao. They helped me grow soooo much so they hold a dear dear place in my heart just bc of that alone.

And because of that last one: how easy it is to apply AUs to themmmm ;w;<33333 I can legit think of anything and make an AU out of it and not struggle too much to find the perfect place for them in it.

And also,, sort of fave sort of least fave- that it's not an overly popular ship in general (ik it's popular in the Bleach fandom itself, but rather; not popular like a ship from BNHA or JJK). Why; bc I get to have my quiet space where I draw all the ideas I want and yet have had verY few people throw insults at me for some of my darker stuff 😂 Bigger fandoms I've interacted with (as a viewer mostly) have had issues popping up left and right, people getting upset over dumb shit and letting that grow to huge proportions, "antis" everywhere... yeahhhh no thanks 😖

but also-- it gets verY quiet at times specially for someone who's so picky. Like, if I could find a fandom space like the exclusive bottom Bakugo enthusiasts I followed on twt (and even bought a whole zine about) but for GriMMJOW??? WOOF😭💕 so yeah,,, love-hate situation on this last bit lmaooo

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

A few 😂😭 everyone who's followed my art for a certain amount of time can probs tell how the 'tism really affects how I enjoy ships lmaoooo I have to enjoy them a very specific certain way so... that means I don't partake at all on a good few of the popular tropes for the ship. Some I can think of rn; damsel-in-distress!Ichigo, overly hurtful!Grimm (although this one is more old fandom I think 🤔? I remember, in a lot of fics back then, Grimmjow was portrayed a lot as this violent rapist adgdfddfdff not for me lmaoo), ofc top!Grimm, Grimmjow acting all macho relationship wise, and too much angst (I think this ship (and Ichigo in general lets be honest) can call for a lot of angst in fic so I totally get it- but ...meh, if it's not romaticized/sexualized angst, idc for it adgdfgf I don't like it when they actually suffer 😭)

OOH OH! ALSO --- making them OOC in AUs CAN be great actually (to me at least). I know a lot of people (not just here, but in any ship/fandom/etc) don't love OOC characterizations of their fave characters/ships (hence why it's a tag we use tbh) but I personally love that at times??? I won't do it all the time and all over the place... but AUs where there's space to make Grimm less violent? or Ichigo less friendly/loving??? While still within their canon character potentials--- hecC yes. >:)ccc

Also ofc; that I wish it was still common to tag ships as top-bottom like it is with HoEn/EnHo (bnha), VK/KV /trigun, KRBK/BKKR (bnha) etc or at least tag it some other way along the ship.... it would be sO much easier to filter out stuff i don't want to see instead of having to mute/block a whole person I would still love to see stuff from.

BuT I am aware most have no preference whatsoever lmaO so... yeah nothing I can do there except not follow people pfFFF 😂😭 (and wait until I find peeps with similar tastes aasdfs)

Context

So ..lately I’ve been drawing a lots of Composers artwork(more like rkgk/scribble ,I haven’t draw any full fledge illustration of composers ever since that Chopin ‘s Birthday art. But I plan to do one soon) ,which I mostly post on my twt account.

Welcome to I'm posting all my fictionkin related thoughts here cuz idk where else to post them TwT

I came out to my best friend as fictionkin (despite them not knowing what the hell that is) through a meme that I made because I had no idea how to start that conversation and it went well! She thinks it's kinda cool, which I get. It sounds cool before you have to deal with trauma and constantly missing sourcemates and possibly kining characters you hate.

Speaking of missing sourcemates, whenever I'm on the bus on in class with annoying kids I think how much better It would be to be there with my sourcemates (especially Gps). Even sketchpad who's slightly annoying would be way better lol.

Also I have trouble with kin memories. Like how am I supposed to tell if it's just a random thing my mind made up or an actual memory? And I also wonder random things like: what was it like to have no arms? How could leaning on Gps be comfortable if he was literally metal? What was folder like? Shouldn't I be able to remember these things better?

Also I literally got bummed out that I found no obvious members of the osc when I went to the aquarium a few days ago. (Why did I think I might be able to find sorcemates easily, TNM isn't even that popular aaaaa TwT)

And if you're wondering how I'm feeling, I'm feeling like crap. I've eaten WAY TOO MUCH candy in the last couple days. I STILL HAVE PLENTY LEFT PLZ SEND HELP AAAA. I've been having on and off stomach pains and headaches because I have zero self control when it comes to candy TwT

I might work on what Rubedo's outfit look like but if you play the 'Shadows Amidst Snowstorms' and listen or heard about what the first version of Albedo (I forgot subject two was actually the Fellflower imposter yet peeps says the Subject two is the failed Albedo that was swallowed by Durin) who was made by Rhinedottir but was deemed a failure and was swallowed by Durin. Albedo comfired this and apparently the one who got swallowed by Durin escaped his belly which we aren't entirely sure how he got out of Durin's body.

But yes that's the same failed or first Albedo who created the fellflower. I named him Rubedo since that's a popular name from people while some would call him Fakebedo OR Susbedo but I think some gave him the name Nigredo but for those who reads Albedo's lore then you know the name Nigredo XD

Rubedo had a nice name to it but I'll say is that my upcoming Interlude of my story mentioned how Rubedo got his name but I can say he did explain his origin to reader once they both fully trust each other.

So don't worry I'll draw what Rubedo looks in my version since he has a change of clothing that is not matching like Albedo's clothing.

But anyways back to the ask 😂

i saw a tweet hating on big carat twt accts because “all they care about is their aesthetic and not about telling others to stream” HUUUUHHHH maybe they just don’t care about streaming at all and literally these accts don’t even have an “aesthetic” to maintain, they’re just shitposting and being a normal fan 😭😭😭 and even with member update accts you’d see streaming accts trying to guilt trip the admins by saying “you have so many followers it’s a shame you don’t call on carats to stream” ……. it’s behavior i will never understand

the irony of it all is that those big accounts that just post regular memes/updates/funny tweets probably unintentionally do more to promote svt than any of those streaming or voting accounts do anyway. like while the direct goal of streaming/voting is to get more views or awards or to win a silly little poll, in the grand scheme of things the main goal is to bring more attention to the group. but i'd argue that a funny tweet going viral is more likely to bring in more fans than an account yelling at ppl who already stan the group that they're not a good enough fan or whatever

and i've talked about this before, but while streaming might make a difference in views, it's not by orders of magnitude. like the reason dwc has 200M views is not bc carats streamed extra hard that era, it's bc it became super popular among non-carat kpop stans. like at the end of the day what matters isn't the views or awards, what matters is how many ppl know the group and what they know about them. the reasons views and awards are talked about is bc it's one way to gauge how many ppl are paying attention to the group

but like even if all the streaming/voting did make a genuine difference, so what? being a fan isn't a job. the whole point of fandom is to have fun. it's an idol's/musician's job to entertain. and like yeah as fans we want our idols to do well, but why act like it's a crime that fans are just enjoying themselves and having fun and not spending every day stressing about numbers?

honestly i understand the mentality somewhat bc i went through a streaming phase back in the day. u get so focused on the numbers and the goal and u think about all the people that could be helping but aren't and it means you "have" to work harder, etc, etc. but at the end of the day it's just putting stress on yourself for basically no reason

like let the pledis/hybe staff worry about numbers and awards. they're the ones getting paid for it. we're here to have fun, so just let ppl have fun lol

i used to write shorter fics when i first started writing fic (like between 1200~5000 words) but somehow lately i seem to only write over 6k words??? but i guess i do prefer writing longer formats! and one-shots all the way, im way more comfortable to write without the commitment of regularly updating something lol

i hate the word blorbo lol i could go on and on and on and on forever talking about hakkai-chan and why he's the best character that was ever created (like i do on twt) BUT im picking john wick for this just bc i think about him so much... i like the hc that he's good at cooking in a general sense, like someone who has the technique and could easily make anything if he has the recipe, and is also good at improvising bc he understands flavor combinations? i like writing about food as comfort & as a love language so on my jw fic this was very present!!!

tkrv fandom: hakkai-chan, obviously. famously in the last 5 characters of the official popularity poll, most fics on the tag only have him as a bg chara/bg relationship/barely mentioned. and yet. he's my one and only. i would commit credit card fraud for him.

jjk fandom: my fav underrated thing is probably the manga itself LOL im sorry to everyone who thinks gg's writing has gotten worse/the story got boring/the plot is convoluted but that's just shounen manga baby!!!!! and i think gg is doing great things to the genre!!!

i don't think jw has that big a community to call a fandom tbh lol it's like one of my fav franchises ever but let's be real. it's kind of a flop. a cult classic, if you will. and most fics are x reader which is fine!!!! but not something im interested in reading 乁⁠[⁠ ⁠◕⁠ ⁠ᴥ⁠ ⁠◕⁠ ⁠]⁠ㄏ and im not that much in touch with wednesday fandom outside wyler shipping so idk i think at least for this ship i want to read weirder stuff lol & there's an appalling lack of xtian guilt on the tag!!! there should be more!!

so I've been seeing this in various fandoms but ppl tagging stuff like "help this post in the tumblr algorihtm" or "help my post won't go popular" has been catching my eye again and wanted to make a post to adress this... I guess?

tumblr is a blogging site.

it's not like twt or even like insta/tiktok. even if it seems tumblr tries to add new similar features.... it seems it has mainly stayed for blogging purposes despite its own unique blogging system (the reblogs and multiple blogs system which I hadn't really seen much anywhere else before tumblr in 2009).

i also just remembered tumblr only uses the first 5 tags for the "Tagged" system they have now next to the "search" system,and the rest are "viewable" just on your blog,,,,, so yeah, no reason to use every tag possible unless it really does apply to your post ^^

This is fine for me, since I still use it mainly to archive my art, but I figured maybe this sort of reminder could help any other artists worrying about getting notes or people sharing their stuff. like posts "pop off" completely randomly, and even in big fandoms, sometimes the work you poured your heart into gets just 2 notes while the meme you made the same evening gets like 50+ and so on. it's pretty normal for most people.

Like it's fine. it's the internet, so many things are a little transitory anyway. It might feel a bit sad but it is what it is. what I've learned here is that having your 5+ friends is one of the finest ways to just enjoy your fandom stuff quietly (but I'm kinda rambling now) enjoy the fandom posts you make! don't feel bad bad about not getting notes! it's your experience and you curate it, and that includes just chilling and forgetting about the post that wasn't seen by anyone!

lol u can add here if u know anything else abt this, I haven't been using tumblr as much recently, but it seems things are mostly the same as 5+ or so years ago, with minor changes here and there.

I’m also still figuring it out but it’s essentially tumblr’s solution for revenue so that they can remain profitable enough to keep running without doing the kinds of ads that twt and ig do. You as a user can pay to submit your own tumblr blaze ad and pay for however many people you want to see your ad (not including reblogs and such) and if it’s approved you can just make people see your ad lol. You can use it to share your art, promote your business, or also just make a massive meme or ship post or something for people to see. It’s pretty fun and popular and memey enough that if you pay for ad-free tumblr there is actually an option to only see Blaze ads and no sponsored ads because they’ve turned into more inside jokes for users

one year ago today, the discord server for ninjago's 10th anni zine (now known as the weekend whiplash server) decided "hey, what if we combined morro and the onceler for memes lol"

and ninjago tumblr hasn't known peace since

so uh here's some quick highlights and info:

> onceler morro was not our first "weekend whiplash", as it's now called. that honor goes to cryptor, of whom we randomly decided to spam the tag with for no other reason than cryptor. onceler morro was just the one that ppl seemed to... react to the most. we kept doing 'weekend whiplash' because "ninjago" would literally trend on tumblr every time we went nuts in the tags. and also bc it was rly funny

> onceler morro itself actually arose bc somebody in our server joked abt morro being a tumblr type "like the onceler" and the rest is history

> at some point andrew francis was paid $45 to sing part of "how bad can i be" via cameo and the madlad did it. we unveiled it on the 10th anni

If it makes u feel any better I'm a die-hard jayce lover and ur jayce posts make my day. srsly i don't understand why he gets so much hate. I'm sorry people are lowkey hating on ur jayce art! Thats super sucky

jayce is disproportionately hated to the point that it might be an honest to god meme. i could go on a rant abt why and how, and i have for hours in the past (🤕), but i think the bigger issue with this specific situation is how ppl view artists as content cows. it’s why original artists rarely get as much attention. some ppl feel entitled to art and use it to propel their own blogs instead of engaging with the artist, and it makes it so that art is never a conversation or experience. it’s all “content.”

i spent 23 hrs on that jayce drawing. not bc i had to make it perfect for my followers or bc i think the longer i spend, the better it’ll be. in fact, my art accs would be getting a lot of popularity if i posted more frequently. i took my time bc i enjoy getting into details and appreciating characters through the dedication i put into a piece, getting the chance to figure things out as i go with the time i allow myself. i’m like this with most of my art, yet i frequently get comments abt the inaccuracies (usually purposeful headcanons anyway) or demands for their favorite characters to be included, nevermind if i even like those characters. i’ll spend 23 voluntary hours on an art piece, but it will never be enough bc ppl expect a manufactured rate of “content” to be put out (can you tell that i hate that word lol)

idrk if i can fully describe how i feel abt this, but the best comparison is when mitski requested that fans stop filming+posting her concerts so they can connect with the experience, and twt was quick to accuse her of gatekeeping. ppl forget that her performances are just as much for her as they are for her fans. and to a lesser degree, i think that’s why comments like this upset me. like ofc i’m gonna get offended when someone tells the person with a blorbo pfp that their blorbo sucks, but it hits on a much more personal level too

#listen this is already pretentious but it’s smth i’ve been thinking abt for a while #and i’ve seen so many other artists feel the way i do too #prozd recently made a video on why he doesn’t make skits anymore and he more or less says the same thing #i stg it doesn’t matter what kind of artform it is creators always get disrespected #why is it selfish to want to connect with others? why are artists entitled for wanting recognition?#dgmw the majority of my interactions are some of the kindest and most motivating things i’ve ever received #but every time i post jayce i always get that hesitation of ‘is it worth it’#AND OFC IT’S WORTH IT HE DOESN’T GET ENOUGH LOVE AS IS LMAO #but it kinda goes to show what i expect at this point #god this got long im gonna go back to playing wwf #danswers #arcane

haven’t been posting any of my thoughts or theories on twitter since the final battle started. that may be caused of the fact that there’s barely anything to analyze other than seeing people making memes and s#!+posting… and i can’t even do all those cuz i am weak entertainer lol

my experience being on twt is almost feels like living in a house full of people but you’re just alone most of the time and the reason i stay is only for the updates coming from toman_official and anime arts, manga whatsoever.

besides, what annoys me the most is the fact that a few notable big accounts – whose time by time were caught making terrible takes and went private when people called them out and then went public again for a few hours without a single proper apology – be the ones representing the fandom. i know well enough that it happens with other parts of the twitter too but to see this fandom eventually turn out the same way… well i guess i have no right to complain since tr has become popular - it was beyond inevitable at this point but i still wish it was different and a lot better 🤷🏻‍♀️

the huge commotion that stuck in my mind was when a person asked tr fans to share their hot takes, and of course i typed in mine. i shared my view on this fandom that has slowly turned into “toxic kpop twt” where people who spoke facts or expressed their honest, harmless opinions were being bashed, threatened and mocked, and this unfortunately happened around the time mikey was under influence of his dark impulses, killed south and almost killed takemichi. it was kind of a trigger to most.

twitter is toxic, yes but not all the time. isn’t it kind of contradictory ? yet the fact remains unchanged that the platform is 100% not a safe place anymore.

regardless of it, you do you and i do me. we’re definitely share a different perspective and i respect that :)

As a solo singer, Do's career will depend on his core fanbase (i.e. the ones who like him for his character and voice first and foremost) and the songs/pronounciation. Do will leave for 2 years, so he can begin his international career after he comebacks. Right now it's a learning curve.

Doyoung doesn't know himself what type of music he will choose. It will be different from 127's sound. The fans who care about memes and looks only won't wait and be there.

You see, you and me like the sassiness. On the other hand, Do got so many new fans in his cute image era as well. I know well what kind of Doyoung I prefer, but I can't say which one of his personas works the best. So far it seems like Doyoung the visual, tbh.
