It was quite unexpected to see you in this current state. Casually making out with Eddie Munson was a sight Jason Carver never wanted to see ever again. He was disgusted. Sickened. Frustrated with whatever was going on with you.
Prior to this scene, it occurred to Jason that you were missing. Being the brother of the popular member of the basketballs team was just so… annoying. Having to be dragged to every game, party, and lunch to ever exist was most definitely exhausting. But there was one thing you enjoyed, having to see Eddie Munson every time was so glorious.
After a winning game, so many people were invited to intend a house party where anybody could do anything they wanted. It was the peak of their high school lives after all. Due to being Jason’s precious little sister, you were always under his watch. Although it might have been sweet at time, a brother looking out for his sister, you couldn’t help but hold a grudge against it.
You found yourself quietly sitting on a random person’s couch at a house you weren’t familiar with. Everyone was either chatting upon themselves, treating other’s with a drink, or smoking. While Jason was busy hanging out with his gang, you just sat awaiting on a certain someone to save you from this dungeon.
“He said he’d be here five minutes ago,” you thought, glancing at the clock that stood above a shelf.
Tapping your thigh impatiently, you peered around the room looking for a man with long, fluffy black hair, with a patch covered denim vest. Although it took a few tries to find him, he was eventually found hiding in the corner of the living room where everyone was.
You stood up and carefully walked over to his side of the room, pushing people past you while trying not to get caught by your brother.
“Hey, there, Munson,” you called out, yelling over the loud music.
“Hey, sweetheart,” he said, pulling you in for a kiss.
As your lips connected, Eddie wrapped his arm around your waist, while you leaned into his touch and placed you hand on the back of his neck.
Hopefully no one was watching, they’re all too busy occupying themselves anyways.
You both part away, but continue to hold each other lovingly.
“Wanna get out of here?” you asked, bringing yourself a little closer to the boy.
“I thought you’d never ask.”
You began rushing through the crowd, bringing Eddie along with you by holding his lower arm. As soon as you were close to the back door, you stopped to get a hold of your friend, Macey, who you could trust very dearly.
“Hey, Mace, if anyone asks where I am, tell them I’m with a friend taking a walk. Don’t tell Jason or his goons i’m with a boy, ok?”
“Got it,” she saluted, eyeing the two of you with a smirk.
You bust open the door and immediately head towards the woods, leading Eddie to your secret spot.
As soon as you see the lake, you go to find a small wooden log, where you would usually sit when you came here. The two of you sat down and instantly went at it. You pulled Eddie in, as he placed his hands on your neck and waist to pull you closer. With the tension rising, and the moon shining across the waters onto the two of you, the scene was filled with the pure love of a teenage couple.

codependent idiots
an ajf playlist for @winterscaptain
hello tali! and everyone else reading this.
music is something incredibly important to me, as a musician and as someone who hates existing in silence. I always need something in the background. so, what better way to celebrate 100 ajf fics than with a playlist? tali, I am so incredibly proud of you for 100 ajf fics and so honored to have been part of the journey. and to be your friend. seeing the hard work that goes into this universe and how much you love it is just incredible. I cannot wait for what comes next and to see you continue to create and grow this universe that I love so, so much. you are amazing and wonderful and I love you to bits and pieces darling.
so without further ado, here’s the playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0RpXkdEbsdMqX6l5daBdaL?si=bae62e4556674c84
These songs make me think of ajf or just fit the universe - it’s not about one specific moment or one specific relationship, it’s ajf as whole. So I’ve included a little explanation for each song, considering there isn’t a cohesive sound.
paper rings - taylor swift
this one is pretty self explanatory. it’s a song about loving someone so much you don’t care how, when, or why you marry them. considering meraki, I think we can all agree this fits.
I will follow you into the dark - death cab for cutie
this is a song that screams going to the end of the line for someone. and we’ve seen time and time again (and I’ve referenced it in many a commentary) that aaron & mom lean on each other for everything. they are so reliant on each other for everything and I feel like this song captures it.
be my baby - the ronettes
another classic love song. and just the right amount of sweetness for aaron & mom I think. their love, to me, is a deep and everlasting love that endures and as we’ve seen in the fic, is filled with sweet moments between each other. and there’s a lot in this song about knowing you love someone from the start.
can’t keep on loving you from a distance - elliot yamin
this fits into berry hill/mean it ajf I think. it’s the yearning guys. it’s the not being able to love someone from afar anymore and wanting to do something about it. yeah I threw in a little angst, but this is one of my favorite songs. it’s good and it fits. it’s a crossroads.
die a happy man - thomas rhett
pretty self explanatory, listen to the lyrics. it's all about needing just the love of the person you love the most in this world. that is aaron and mom to a t.
unforgettable - thomas rhett
okay an upbeat song! this one is not forgetting any detail from when you met the person you love. again, aaron and mom. also it’s one of my favorite thomas rhett songs. it’s about inevitability, knowing that you’ve found your person, and not forgetting a single thing about them.
this will be (an everlasting love) - natalie cole
aaron always gives me classic song vibes, he likes the oldies and what he was raised on. this song is...it is happiness personified. it is happiness and joy in a song and you cannot convince me it wasn’t played at the wedding.
make a life, not a living - brett kissel
okay so first off: brett kissel is an amazing canadian country artist whom I love dearly. this is his newest song and it was released just in time for this. this ENCAPSULATES ajf for me - this aaron that allows himself to live and love again, to have this happiness and joy. it’s all about making a life, and making a good one. this is ajf for me.
between you and me - brett kissel
and this one is for all the 18+/nsfw moments. listen to the song and it's pretty self-explanatory.
at last - etta james
it took them like 6 years (? I think) to get together and another 2.5 to get married. someone played this at the wedding and you cannot convince me otherwise. again, it goes to inevitability and how everyone was waiting for this to happen. we knew it was gonna happen, it was just a matter of when. so when it does happen, everyone’s screaming “AT LAST!”
kiss me - ed sheeran
okay this album came out in 2011, mean it happened in 2011...it fits. and this song screams mean it to me. that’s really all I have to say
give me love - ed sheeran
same reasoning as kiss me. I just couldn’t decide which one fit more. but they both work.
growin’ up - bruce springsteen
this song is less mom & aaron and more ajf in general. it’s rebellion and doing what you want - hello bau - and it’s just a great song about learning and growing up and doing things your way. also it’s me, there had to be springsteen on here somewhere
mary’s place - bruce springsteen
run with me on this one: you’re driving in the car with your family, people you love, and this song comes on. you can’t help but smile and sing along and it is happiness personified. this one is all about the vibes, not the lyrics or meaning of the song. this to me is a bit of a party starter and something that could play at every bau party. familiar faces, laughter, gathering people together….this is all about having a good time with people you love.
we take care of our own - bruce springsteen
last springsteen song I promise. this one is similar to above, it’s all about a family and being there for one another. looking out for your own, looking out for each other.
some day one day - queen
this is a great soft, sweet song talking about hope for mom & aaron. much like this is early in queen’s discography, it fits into the early years of ajf.
you’re my best friend - queen
self explanatory. they are codependent, they rely on each other so much, they are best friends and lovers. it fits so well. and this song will always put a smile on my face.
another one bites the dust - queen
another unsub bites the dust because the bau is great at their jobs. and, this screams hotchner’s dancing around the kitchen or the living room. they seem like the kind of family to dance around and film each other for….no ulterior motive whatsoever (/sarcasm)
my wish - rascal flatts
so this fits for the wedding vows BUT ALSO - during enough when aaron is thinking about how he’ll fit into reader’s life. he just wants them to have a good life, to find happiness. that is his wish for them.
danger zone - kenny loggins
we all know the hotchner’s love top gun. they absolutely, unabashedly love this song and blast it for a dance party.
landslide - fleetwood mac
maybe it’s because we sang this at my camp as a last night campfire song, but I can see this being a song sung to the littles to get them to settle down. the lyrics might not make total sense but it’s a bit of a vibe.
this is it - scotty mccreery
it’s a great love song and I love it. it gives me ajf vibes for many reasons and many moments in the series
not alone - mcfly
OH ITS TIME FOR MY MCFLY SOAPBOX. mcfly is a band that yes, I mostly know because of the close geography of the internet and early 2010s british youtubers. they are a big band in the uk and they were in an early 2000s movie called just my luck with chris pine and lindsay lohan. I love the movie, I love mcfly. seriously, they are one of my favorite bands ever. not alone is a great song and one I think can be the background for many ajf scenes. and yes this is about to start a few mcfly songs on the playlist
I wanna hold you - mcfly
it’s just about being close and wanting to hold the person you love. how many times during ajf do we see mom & aaron with a hand on each other and reaching for one another?
it’s all about you - mcfly
I tend to find this is the most well known mcfly song. it was written for one of the band members’ wife and it’s so good. and yes, again, it encapsulates the love aaron and mom have.
being alive - company
I kinda had the realization that this song screams aaron to me. that for so long he fought against his feelings and was almost content with being alone, with not having anyone. he sort of holds himself at arms length, like bobby does throughout company. and then at some point, there’s a switch. and he realizes that being alone is not the same as being alive and he wants to have someone to hold and someone to be alive with. and that’s what this song is about.
louder than words - tick, tick, boom
there are so many times where aaron and mom just look at each other. they use their actions, their body language, and their eyes to communicate and forgo words. they don’t need words. and it’s not just with one another. it’s with jack and the littles and the whole team. actions truly do speak louder than words in this universe.
always will - bright star
it’s a mean it & mistletoe song. “we’re supposed to be/together it’s true/I’ve had my doubts/but not about you.” these lyrics SCREAM ajf and this is one of my favorite songs from bright star - WHICH IS AN UNDERRATED MUSICAL.
dirty little secret - all american rejects
okay so it’s never a dirty secret, but this fits in during the mean it arc. they’re so secretive and sneaking around. we needed one unhinged song here okay???
the power of love - huey lewis & the news
this is a song that fits the relationship, but is also something that could play in the hotchner house and get everyone singing and jamming. or could be played at dinner at uncle dave’s house to get everyone up and dancing on the flagstones.
sharp dressed man - zz top
it’s aaron hotchner. also, this is a song I can see aaron making his kids listen to (yes my dad made me listen to this a lot growing up)
I want to hold your hand - the beatles
yes we need a beatles song on here and yes this is one that always makes me think of ajf. there’s always some way people are touching - linking pinkies, holding hands, a finger through a belt loop, hands on the top of someone’s chair - touch and contact are important here so yes this is the requisite beatles song.
the heart never lies - mcfly
one more mcfly song. just listen to the lyrics and you’ll know why it’s one of my favorites. for as long as these two fought their feelings and denied them, the heart never lies. and their eyes can give it away.

2, 3, (4 too if I am allowed to be greedy), 13, for my heart is holding on to you that I love so dearly, please and thank you!
You can always be greedy about that fic!
2: What scene did you first put down?
The first scene/chapter! It was really only supposed to be a little one-off like the painting AU was supposed to be a one-off Tumblr prompt response. And instead...well.
3: What’s your favorite line of narration?
Since I already talked about the part where Jaime tells Brienne he loved her. I’ll go with a second favorite:
She may have shared her bed with a bear, but there was always a lion above her hearth.
Frankly, I remember writing that line and being like oh fuck yea. Thank you writing Gods for that one.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
RUDE. Oh this one is hard. This one only makes sense in context, but I’ll BOLD it in the section:
“It’s strange,” he says absently, looking away from her. “I truly thought that being called Kingslayer was awful, that being reviled for my one true act of heroism was a punishment greater than any other I could imagine. I had dreamed of nothing more than being a knight and then to be raised to the Kingsguard--” He shakes his head. “Reviled for my one true heroic act and revered for my most cowardly, funny, isn’t it?”
It’s Brienne’s turn to flinch at the acid in his tone.
“You did your best,” she says firmly.
“A scathing indictment, indeed.”
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to accompany us while reading?
Literally, just listen to The Light by Sara Bareilles over and over and over again. The title of it goes to a youtube link with the song. I’m not kidding when I say this song is the entire reason for the tone of the fic. I strangely credit it with the fic working at all. I don’t know why, it’s just something about that song sits in my heart the same way the fic does and I listened to it the entire time I wrote it. Just over and over and over again.

hi ok so i agree with the anon cos iswyftf is literally perfection. no pressure at all but do you think you will revisit that au and maybe write a little something in the future? like a time stamp or something?? it's one of the best and i wish i can read it all over again for the first time! <3
omg this is so incredibly nice, thank you so much???
i loved writing that 'verse and there is a very good chance i will revisit it at some point in the future.
beyond the thing im writing in the links above there are definitely certain scenes that i want to explore from the other pov, but i have no idea when ill get the inspo on those. but i do love them very dearly and am very attached to them (how could i not be after writing over 85k words for them) so i hope to one day revisit them more in-depth!
anyway, thank you so, so much. writing that fic helped me through some really rough months of my life, so i truly appreciate this 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Fanfic Meme
I was tagged by @agirlnamedkeith
At what age did you start writing fanfiction?
I was 31. And yes, that was a couple of decades ago. I am not just fandom old, but old old.
Who is your favorite author?
I have favourites in every fandom, and I’ve been in a lot of fandoms. Also, inevitably, if I tried to list them, I’d wind up forgetting some. I’ve written lots of recs over the years, and you can find quite a few of them here on my dreamwidth account. (I hardly used dreamwidth at all for about five years until about six months ago, so there’s a gap between the recent few recs and the earlier ones.)
But yeah, okay, if I had to pick my favourite authors over a long time and across many fandoms, then the two constants would be @telanu and Nym. Yes, they’re two of my best friends, but the reason why I wound up talking to them in the first place was because I loved their writing, and that hasn’t changed over the many years I’ve known them.
Favorite type of scene to write?
I love writing long, navel-gazy descriptive stuff. Description comes easily to me, and my aim in any fanfic is to get under the POV character’s skin and find out what makes them tick, so inward-looking description just makes the words flow for me.
Dialogue, otoh, is something that I don’t enjoy writing so much. People have told me that I’m quite good at it, but when I’m writing dialogue I’m always hyper-aware that one wrong sentence, or even one wrong word, that isn’t in-character can throw out an entire paragraph or an entire scene.
What is your favorite fanfic?
Again, so many fandoms, so many great pieces of fanfic. If you read the links to my recs above, you’ll get an idea of the sorts of stories I like.
One story that sticks out above others, though, is Nym’s A Bed of Thorns. It is an IMMENSE story, longer than War and Peace, and it’s still a WIP, though Nym dearly wants to finish it.
It’s a Once Upon a Time Rumpelstiltskin/Belle (rumbelle) canon divergence, where instead of going with Rumpelstiltskin to be his servant/sort of captive, Belle marries him. You know all that navel-gazing description that I like to write? It’s even better when someone else does it for me, and when that someone is a writer as talented as Nym... This story is chock full of character exploration, including character exploration via a LOT of sex scenes, and angst, and fluff, and more angst, and plot, and memorable original characters and original cats. There is nothing else like it in any fandom. Read it.
What tags do you avoid like the plague?
Very little. I’ll read just about anything if it’s well-written. I dislike anything where the author’s kink (not necessarily a sexual kink) trumps the characterisation. If the kink is used in service of the character exploration, rather than the other way around, then that’s fine, though. Because of this, stuff like Alpha/Beta/Omega really doesn’t work for me.
What AU do you wish to write but feel like you won’t manage?
Not so long ago, I would have said that the one AU I’d LOVE to write but wouldn’t be able to manage was a novel length Regency AU. I’ve written Regency one-shots in other fandoms, but I didn’t think I would have the strength for a longer Regency AU. But, um, well... You I Know.
Do you outline or write as you go?
Hahaha. I’ve have TRIED to outline. It doesn’t work for me. My outlines turn into drafts of scenes. I do work with a sketchy mental outline of the main beats of the story, a sort of skeleton that will be filled in with the flesh and blood of detail as I write. There are going to be about half a dozen distinct sections to my current WIP, and those will keep me writing in the right direction (I hope). I do also have a list of bullet points that I keep adding to whenever a detail strikes me that I’ll want to include later on, but that’s really the extent of my planning. Oh, and I like to know approximately where the story will end up before I start putting words on the page. Until I know the destination, it’s really just a story idea rather than a story draft.
What has been your favorite story to write so far?
Very occasionally, a story is so clear in my head that I just have to write it. I can’t stop and second-guess myself; the story just has to be what it wants to be. I’ve written precisely three of this type of story over the years:
1. The Rain Keeps Falling (Harry Potter, Snape/Harry)
2. Plain Jane (Once Upon a Time, Rumple/Belle)
3. More Than a Memory (Game of Thrones, Jaime/Brienne)
Do you prefer to write one-shots or multi-chapters? Why?
Um, both? I mean, I am TERRIBLE at predicting the word count of my own stories, to the point where my friends just laugh when I confidently tell them how long I think my current story is going to be, so sometimes I think I’m writing a one-shot and it turns out I’m not. Case in point: More Than a Memory was going to be a one-shot of a few thousand words. Three weeks later, it ended up at 33,000 words over five chapters.
What is your favorite kind of comment?
Well, the long, detailed comment where it’s clear that someone really ‘gets’ what you were trying to do with the characters and the plot is hard to beat - but absolutely any comment is great. I view fic as being part of the fannish conversation, so when I write a story, I’m opening a conversation about the characters - the comments are the other half of that conversation. And, really, that conversation is why I’m in fandom at all, so it’s all good!
Why did you start writing fanfiction? Why are you still writing it?
Back when I first found fandom, I lurked on a Mailing List (yes, it was that long ago) devoted to one particular character. It wasn’t a big group of people, so there wasn’t masses of fic, and some of it was only so-so. And no, this is not where I tell you that I decided one day that I could write something better than what I was reading. In fact, it was the opposite. One day, someone posted a REALLY good story, and I read it and thought, “Fanfic can be like this. It can be this good.” And I wanted to be part of that, so I gathered my courage and sat down and tried writing something of my own.
Why do I still write fanfic? Well, actually, I thought I’d stopped. I hadn’t written any fanfic for a couple of years, apart from the occasional drabble, although I’d started a few stories but not finished them.
And then the final season of Game of Thrones aired, and characters I’d loved for years, without ever feeling the urge to write them, had an ending that just left me going “but... but... but...” I got that feeling where I HAD to write them, and now I’ve written over 50,000 words in six weeks.
Fandom taught me long ago that I should never say never about anything. I should have remembered that.

Spotlight by Mila, @jughead-jones
SARAH | @onceuponamirror
Name: Sarah
Age: 25
Location: California
Any other languages aside from English people can contact you in?: alas, nope.
Favourite Riverdale characters and ships?: I actually enjoy most of the characters, but I know I would like all of them better if the writing actually was focused on characterization, lol. But obviously I quite like Bughead. And then honestly I like all of the Veronica ships. I also like Choni but i think the writing could’ve been a lot better.
Favourite moments from S1 & S2?: Betty repeatedly saying “what’s my name” to Alice was really powerful and one of the moments that sold me on the show early on, especially in the acting from that scene, and then 1x07 was a really wonderful exploration of a broken relationship between father and son that was still fill with a lot of love despite how painful it was. The family/character moments early on were strong. In s2….the acting continued to be pretty good, and the addition of totally campy things like Papa Poutine and his son Small Fry were the wacky kind of delight I seek from riverdale.
What are your hopes for S3?: consistent characterization, and hopefully some fun weirdo hippie moments.
Other fandoms you’re into?: I was in the Once Upon a Time fandom for a long time. But that show has ended now.
What are some of your favourite movies/TV?: The Americans, The Good Place, The Office, Parks And Rec, Glow, Orphan Black, The Bold Type, Queer Eye, Jane The Virgin, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Favourite books?: All About Love by Bell Hooks, A Thousand Eyes: Media Technology, Law, and Aesthetics, Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami, and Just Kids by Patti Smith. I need to find more fiction to read, but don’t really know where to start in terms of what I’m really looking for.
Favourite bands/musicians?: FLEETWOOD MAC!! I think anyone who has visited my blog even once probably knows this lmao.
If you could live in any fictional world which one would you choose and why?: uh, Harry Potter universe, no contest. I mean, given that I too would be a witch anyway.
Favourite food?: mm. Probably tomatoes. Love a good tomato.
Favourite season?: autumn!!!
Favourite plant?: oh this is hard. I do love a big split leaf monstera!
Favourite scent?: eucalyptus.
Favourite colour?: blue.
Favourite animal?: also hard. Have you ever heard the sounds a porcupine makes tho?
Are you a night owl, an early bird, or a vampire?: fun combo of a person who likes to stay up late who also naturally wakes up early. But on my good days, I’m an early bird.
Place you want to visit?: Japan! Or spend more time in Scotland than I’ve had before.
Do you have pets? If you do, tell us a little about them: I have a cat. She’s afraid of her own shadow and I love her dearly.
Tell us a little about yourself?: I am a freelancer in a creative field, I’m a big fan of analysis (show or writing or otherwise), and my interests tend to rotate around the arts and plants.
Fun or weird fact about you?: I am a very, very good whistler. Can do all the vibrato stuff.
Asks for fanfic authors:
How long have you been writing?: since I was like 11-12, honestly.
Which is your favourite of the fics you’ve written?: Heart Rise Above is very dear to me for many reasons, but beyond just the satisfaction of telling the story in way I’m happy with, it also represents a huge number of goals that I met. I’d never written anything multi-chapter, let alone over 100k. It helped me get over a lot of my insecurities.
Favourite fic/chapter/plot-point/character you’ve ever written?: HRA is prob my favorite fic, my favorite chapter was probably the “water” chapter (17 i think) in HRA, my favorite plot-point is something from A Deed Without A Name so i shouldn’t say yet, and my favorite character….I mean, I’m fully aware that I basically came up with an original character in JB. She appears in most of my fics because I firmly believe that she better rounds out Jughead and my goals for him, but she’s also become a solidified figure in my mind. And I’m fond of her; or at least, my version, lol.
Which was the hardest to write, and why?: Stealing Home has been a continued challenge, just because it’s such a different universe from canon while still needing to maintain consistent and recognizable characterization. But I like challenges!
How do you come up with the ideas for you fic(s)? (examples: Do you draw inspiration from real life? Listen to music? Get inspired by TV/movies?) Do you have an process to your writing?: I listen to a lot of music while I write in order to tap into the tonal atmosphere I want to build, but a lot of my ideas start with a vague concept, sometimes launched by a single image I saw (HRA was inspired by a set photo) and then I work backwards to a larger theme and intent. My process depends on the story, but often I make a lot of “beginning, middle, and end” notes to myself for where each character has to go and what has to happen, plot wise, at those stages.
Idea that you always wanted to write?: I’d like to one day tackle a long, multi-chapter story that spans only 24 hours. We’ll see!
Favourite character to write?: Jughead, I think. But i also really like writing Veronica, turns out.
Best comment/review you’ve ever received?: @village-skeptic leaves incredibly detail-oriented reviews, and I eat them up. But then I’ve had some personal messages about the impact some stories have on them and it just — wow. That’s amazing. It means so much to me.
Best and worst parts of being a writer?: It’s incredibly satisfying to escape into someone else’s woes or joys sometimes. Especially when my mental health takes a toll on me, being able to work through some of my own feelings via another character is…cathartic. The worst is that it’s a vulnerable thing, sharing that side! Even if you don’t consciously put those things into your writing, any time you put anything creative out to share with others, it’s nerve wracking. Validation is a tricky thing.
Do you have any advice to offer?: Ultimately, be passionate about why you want to do something. All other doubts and worries and insecurities will be outweighed if you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing.

Yearly (Belated) Review
Alright, there it is. My answers to the Yearly Review meme. Honestly I found this SO HARD. Not only was it hard to find positive things to say about my writing, but also I don’t remember anything of what I wrote last year? It’s hard to answer these questions if you don’t even remember any detail about your own fics.
It’s really weird because I take so much pride in my actual job, like I know I’m good at it, I know exactly what I’m good at, I could answer all the questions in the world about it. I also think that I’m a really good beta reader, like I’ve never found anybody else like me? Someone who will actually nag at you and go deep and force you to rework stuff and get even better. All of this, I can easily see and appreciate. But my personal writing? UGH. Nothing to keep, throw it all away please.
Writing this was really painful for me, when it seems to have been so much fun for everyone else (as it should be, because y’all are so fucking talented and I’m glad you realize it)... but you know what, soldiering through actually helped me take a step back and force myself to see what was good about my writing. I’m incredibly grateful for it.
1. List of works published this year:
This one at least is easy, you can find the list here.
Except that I forgot my original ficlet I wrote, a soft lesbian summer haze story inspired by some Danielle Campbell photos! It’s there and I think only two people in the world have read it but I really like it.
2. Work you are most proud of (and why):
Hahahahahahahahaha…. hahahaha… haaaa.
Sorry.
Um.
I guess, maybe, the Lilo Brits verse? Because it’s like, one of the more “serious”, angsty things I’ve written (and La helped me make it good).
I guess it’s pretty clear I have a real big problem about thinking “happy” fic is meaningless, which is kind of a downer considering it’s almost all I write (and probably what I’m best at).
Oh, okay, I’ve just re-read that ghost!Liam lirry fic and it’s surprisingly nice. I guess I like the way it’s a total crackfic and yet it’s very tender and bittersweet. I can grant myself that. :)
And now that I’ve found back that Danielle fic I linked to above, I can honestly say that I’m super proud of it. I’m proud of how soft it is, and how tentative, and I just… I really like how poetic it is? The words came out exactly as I wanted them to. I really love it.
3. Work you are least proud of (and why):
Most of them? Like, they’re okay, but most could have been infinitely better if I’d just forgotten about them for a bit and come back to them with fresh eyes, instead of posting them straight away. There’s stuff that people loved that I’m re-reading today and I literally cringe thinking of how much better they could/should have been.
4. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
I couldn’t say. Like, it’s not just that I’m super harsh on my writing, but how am I supposed to remember everything I wrote?? The way you guys all managed to answer this one is what baffled me the most, because I legitimately cannot do it. I’d have to re-read everything I posted (and even then I probably wouldn’t like anything enough to think it’s worth quoting here).
But one thing I can say is that I have a huge soft spot for my Lilo fairy verse. It’s not the most amazing thing in the land but I think Louis as a fairy works really, really well, and it’s just silly and happy and I’m glad I wrote it. :)
 5. Share or describe a favorite review you received:
This one is surprisingly hard to answer! I mean, obviously, @catateme9 is the most supporting reader and friend anyone could wish for, by far. The way you boost authors you like is heartwarming, and shows that you don’t need to actually put out material to be a vital part of the fandom. <3
I’m also just really grateful when people yell at me in their reblog tags, which happens often, it’s probably the most satisfactory feedback anyone can get.
I’m sorry, I feel bad for not being able to recall a really good one, I just… any kind of feedback makes my day. I cherish each and every comment/tag/message I get about my fics, so it’s just impossible to pick one.
 6. A time when writing was really, really hard:
Honestly ask me for a time when writing was easy, it’ll be easier to pinpoint. Writing is torture, all the fucking time. But some of the random ficlets I wrote in bed were wonderful gifts, sudden unexpected inspiration that I managed to see through in one sitting.
But writing has been especially hard for the past couple months, I have to say. I used to constantly daydream about my plots and now there’s only static in my brain.
 7. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:
I guess all the het fic I wrote. I’ve always written exclusively slash, even back in my HP days (the only Hermione/Ron fic I can remember writing was PG, I couldn’t stomach the idea of writing a sex scene). I think because for a long time I wanted to get as far away from heterosexuality as I could. I guess me writing all those elounor, or elounorexha, or louelle fics shows my own real life path towards accepting I’m bi and that there’s nothing wrong with “het” sex.
 8. How did you grow as a writer this year:
I don’t think I grew at all. Queen of stagnation, that’s me. 😞
 9. How do you hope to grow next year:
I… don’t know? Maybe just… learn to give myself more credit? Be as kind to myself as I am to other writers? Oh and also if I could stop comparing myself to all of you and feeling terrible because I’ll never be half as talented, that’d be nice.
10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):
@ferryboatpeak will never not be wonderful. She uses both the carrot and the stick to keep me on track (or tries to, at least), and she’s also sent me some DELIGHTFUL things to beta, for which I’m always so grateful because honestly, reading her stuff and then seeing her turn my suggestions into gold is a fucking privilege.
To be fair, I have a lot of incredibly talented writers as friends. You’re all inspirations in some way, but I’ll mention 3 writers that have really stood out for me this year (please don’t get offended if you’re not in the list you KNOW how much I admire and love all of you, omg, so much!!)
@queerlyalex the sheer range of what you write, and the softness with which you tackle tricky subjects, is absolutely incredible. Your fics aren’t only perfectly written, they’re also so enlightening, and eye-opening, and as someone who was very very clueless before I joined Tumblr, they’ve been a wonderful, soft way of truly realizing there is so much more than what I’ve experienced, and getting my head around some stuff. I feel so incredibly grateful to be your friend.
@polaroidgirlfriend, I’m sorry I haven’t yet read your fionrry, but I still think about your university Narry fic all the time. I’m still floored by how perfect and honest it was, you have a way of… of getting at hidden, unspoken human emotions that is so gentle and yet so uncompromising, it’s a testament to your beautiful soul.
@1000-directions, your love for the boys’ girlfriends (and friends, like Bebe) is the most heartwarming thing ever, and I’m so happy you’re constantly putting out these empowering, woman-positive slices of life out into the fandom world. We need more people like you here. I also love what you said about learning to write for yourself and not caring about how niche something is, that is something I could dearly do with.
I think it’s telling that the three people I’ve picked out have that one thing in common, your way of gently dissecting relationships to get to the heart of them, unflinchingly uncovering the good and the bad bits. You somehow all manage to depict love as a bloody beating heart, both beautiful and terrible, soft and ragged, full of hope and despair, and I just… love this so much about you. There’s a line in one of my fics (that sounds so pretentious omg) which goes “so she’ll stop cutting his heart open as softly as if it was a peach”, and that just really sums it up. I only wrote that one sentence, but y’all actually do it in every one of your fics, and I’m just... in total awe of you. ♥♥♥
 11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:
Pretty much everything I write is about me. I get sick? I’ll write some sickfic. I’m super tired? Louis can’t seem to get any sleep. Little gestures I love end up in my stories. Things I crave end up in my stories. Often I’m embarrassed about just how much my stories are a reflection of myself, to be honest. I’m an open book.
 12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
I’ll share wisdom from my actual job : do not cling to your ideas. It doesn’t matter how cute/sexy/well written that paragraph is, or how brilliant that idea is, if it doesn’t fit with the rest of the story or if it’s blocking you up, GET RID OF IT. Seriously. Being able to just delete chunks of your own writing when you realize it’s not serving your story will save you a lot of pain and time.
 13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
Any of my WIPs, god, please. I started so many things and they fell through the wayside and I feel so guilty and gutted about it.
The most important thing of all would be finishing Take These Chances, because I still get comments on it from time to time and I’ve dropped it just before Louis and Liam finally realized they were in love and it’s just… it’s terrible. I want to finish it, I just don’t know how to make myself do it.
But I also have that summer heat nouis fic, puppy/kitten lilo, the lilourry mermaid thing, lilo new year’s kiss, another lilo fic about kisses in which liam must kiss louis every hour to make up for waking him up early, the nouis watching Stranger Things, a new installment of caldell highschool au, that hendes fic, a steamy Elouelle ficlet, the follow-up to the sleep-deprived Louis fic… all of these are half-written or more, they just need a little more work, but I can’t. seem. to do it!
If anyone’s got idea on how to motivate me through this, I’m ready to hear them.
 14. Tag three writers whose answers you’d like to read.
I don’t need to tag anyone, you’ve all done it already (and they were a joy to read). ^_^

40 Questions — Meme for Fic Writers
Saw this cool list of questions going around and thought I’d try to answer a few of ‘em. :-)
1) Describe your comfort zone - a typical you fic.
Oh, definitely hurt/comfort, both of the physical and emotional variety. Someone protects someone they care about, the protector gets injured in one way or another, and then the team comes together to help take care of them.
It’s a simple formula, but I love it dearly. :-)
That being said, I’m not really comfortable with putting characters into certain kinds of bad situations, but that’s more due to my personal knee-jerk reactions to some ...uh...’mature real-life situations’. I like to keep my fics intense and interesting, but you really won’t find anything too dark in my fics. There can be a fair amount of blood and violence, though.
2) Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
Not really...? I mean, I mostly just stick with character interactions and the good old gen formula, because it’s what I love to see with most characters in shows I watch.
3) Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole?
I can’t bear to write anything where innocents don’t get out of danger. I prefer the villains to get their asses emphatically handed to them.
4) How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
Some assorted ideas, mostly still located in my ‘Lost Paladins’ series. That series really burns a hole in my brain most days. It’s fun. :-) One of the ideas I’ve had is the reunion between Shiro and Matt and Sam Holt. I’m looking forward to getting that down at some point.
5) Share one of your strengths.
I’m fiercely loyal to those I love, and I am also very empathetic.
6) Share one of your weaknesses.
I have been known to be a little bit overprotective...okay...actually more than a little. :-) I really have to struggle sometimes to rein back what I’ve taken to calling my ‘Red Lion instincts’ and let the people I love fight their own battles. :) However, I’m always ready on the sidelines to encourage them like the Genii in Aladdin. “Jafar, Jafar, he’s our man, but if he can’t do it, GREAT!”
7) Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Oh, man, it’s hard to choose, but this moment from ‘Misadventures in Babysitting’ was one I’m pretty proud of. (Here’s a link to the full story: http://archiveofourown.org/works/8472229/chapters/19412305)
Keith stopped when he saw a ventilation shaft in the tunnel ahead of him.
He still couldn't hear anyone behind them, but he had no time to waste.
He had to hide Beyris, he had to hide her now.
Keith quickly removed the grate from the ventilation tunnel and lifted Beyris inside.
"Here - Beyris - you can hide in here - "
As he lifted her up into the ventilation shaft, Beyris looked up into his face, and suddenly she looked - scared. Her lower lip started to tremble, and Keith felt as if he would have preferred a kick to the face.
"Keith - why - why are your teeth sharp?"
"Uh - I - I - "
Even as he spoke, Keith heard faint noises echoing in the tunnels far behind him. He made a decision then, and he hoped it was the right one.
"Beyris, I'm your friend. I'm Lance's friend. And - I - I have to go fight those guys now."
Beyris still seemed scared, but she nodded. "O-o-kay- but - but what should I do?"
Keith pointed at the comms unit in her hand, even as he pushed her farther down the tunnel, so she'd be out of sight.
"Hold onto that. Your uncle's coming to find you - just - don't let anyone hear you, or see you. You have to stay hidden, all right?"
He had a sudden inspiration, something that might help her. He shrugged out of his jacket and covered her with it, like it was a blanket.
"Listen, this will help you stay hidden - uh - just - pretend you're playing hide and go seek. I'm going to lead them away from you, so you just stay quiet, okay?"
She pulled the jacket over her, and Keith saw that it seemed to help, at least a little. Her clawed fingers were still shaking, but not as hard.
"It's soft," she said. "I - I like it."
Keith lifted the grate back up, but just before he put it back into place, he grinned at her and winked, like Lance would have. "Don't tell anyone, okay? They have to think I'm tough."
She smiled then, tremulously, but it was genuine. "Okay."
Keith heard the noises getting louder. He didn't want to leave her, but he had no choice.
He finished securing the grate firmly back into place. Now even he couldn't see where she was hiding. The darkness of the ventilation shaft would keep Beyris hidden until Rayzor or the other Paladins came for her.
"Wait for your uncle," he said. Without waiting for an answer, he turned and sprinted down the corridor, away from where she hid, down into the maze of tunnels where the enemy was looking for him.
He couldn't avoid Jenick or his men forever.
But he could make sure they didn't find Beyris.
I’m proud of this segment because it marks a turning point in the next few stories. I can’t say too much without giving things away, but yeah...this scene was definitely a turning point. Also, one of my favorite characters got to be protective. *Cue me loving it. :-)*
8) Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
*rubs hands together gleefully* Oh, this one’s easy to pick. Spoiler alert: This is a pretty pivotal moment in the story ‘Family Is More Than Blood’- the link is here http://archiveofourown.org/works/8472328?view_full_work=true, so skip over this one if you haven’t read that story yet. ;-)
The Black Paladin's eyes were hard, and his voice was quiet.
"If I chose to," Shiro said, "I could crush your throat and leave you here to die. Or, I could throw you against the wall, and let you live with a broken spine."
Jenick tried to get free then, but Shiro shook him, just once, and Jenick froze again, his breaths coming faster and faster in rising panic.
"Listen, Jenick," Shiro said. "I want you. to listen. to. me."
Jenick nodded, almost frantically, and Shiro continued speaking in that same flat, even tone.
"I could kill you in any number of ways. Hell, it's taking every ounce of self-control I have not to snap your neck or crush your skull, right here, right now."
Shiro drew in a breath then, and his fingers tightened on the front of Jenick's shirt as he let the breath out again, and he shook Jenick again, just once, but hard enough to make Jenick's teeth rattle in his head.
"But - despite all that - I'm going to let you live. Do you know why I'm going to let you live, Jenick?"
Jenick shook his head.
"I am going to let you live because I refuse to be like you. I refuse to let my rage control me. And that - that and that alone - is why I'll even consider allowing you to leave this room breathing."
Shiro's eyes were still flat and hard, and he brought Jenick closer, so they were nose to nose. "Do I make myself clear, Jenick?"
Jenick nodded, still speechless with fear, and Shiro growled at him then. His voice was hard, almost guttural, and it was terrifying to hear up close.
"I want to hear you say it."
I LOVE this particular bit of dialogue for so many reasons. I love it because when a good man goes to war, you really don’t want to be on the wrong side of the fight. The emotions in this moment just felt so real the whole time I was writing them. I could just see everything happening inside my head, and it was glorious.
9) Which fic has been the hardest to write?
Honestly, I’d say the hardest one for me to write was ‘Scavenger Hunt.’ I knew what I /wanted/ to have happen, but I had to get all the characters into place for it /to/ happen. ‘Broken Paladins’ basically wrote itself, but dang, ‘Scavenger Hunt’ took me a bit because I wanted to make sure I did the set up right.
10) Which fic has been the easiest to write?
Even though it took me the longest, it was definitely ‘Family is More Than Blood’. That fic went through so many edits and rephrasings, but I was really proud of how it turned out.
11) Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?
Sort of both, I guess. I’ve always loved books and stories, but writing as much as I did as quickly as I did really came as a surprise. :-) Maybe I’ll finally finish an original story and get it published or something.
12) Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?
Oh, geez, I honestly can’t pick just one episode for VLD. They’re all so integral. But if I had to pick just one...maybe...the Blade of Marmora, or Eye of the Storm. The pacing to those and the beautiful animation are just jaw-droopingly inspiring and creative.
13) What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
Write what you love, and be proud of your accomplishments. Also, don’t be afraid to grow, even if that means you spend hours on something and then you have to change it. That work you did was not wasted.
14) What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
It has to be perfect, or it’s not worthwhile. *rolls eyes and lights that piece of horrible advice on fire* Yeah, that’s not how it works, guys.
15) If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?
Oh, man, I’d have to say ‘Family is More than Blood/Echoes from the Past’. The two go hand-in-hand, and I keep re-reading those most of all if I just want to remind myself of how my writing style has developed over time. :-)
16) If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?
Well, I mean, I like romance, but I really enjoy gen or family/friendship fics...but if we’re talking romantic pairings...I like Shiro/Allura enough where I could make it work. :-)
17) Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
With very few exceptions, I have to get the story down in order, or risk never finishing it. Sometimes I’ll just creatively write moments or angsts down, but if I’m really settling down to the task, I have to open up another new document and work on it sequentially. I’ll reference or bring in what I’ve already written, but I have to work on the story itself from start to finish.
18) Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?
I have a notebook where ideas or lines get jotted down, and I’ll reference it pretty heavily if I’m brainstorming. I also reference the VLD character sheets online if I’m double-checking physical descriptions or history or stuff like that, just to keep it as linear as possible.
19) Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?
My muse likes to just wander around my mindscape, and she’s a very strange person who likes coffee and doughnuts and is basically an anime character. She’s usually going on about how some song or show or movie or book has the /perfect/ quote for the situation at hand, and I really have to work on making sure she doesn’t freak out the neighbors when I go to get the mail. :-)
20) Describe your perfect writing conditions.
A rainy day, a full mug of coffee and a bar of chocolate at my side, and my writing playlist cued up and ready to go (so a good Internet connection as well). I rely heavily on music like ‘Sunder’ from Most Epic Music Ever on youtube and other things like that to get into and stay focused during my writing moods.
21) How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
It depends on how well the fic or chapter flowed during the writing process. Usually I’ll write through the entire fic and then re-read it from start to finish at least three times, spending more time on different ‘parts’ and trying to make sure I 1) got the flow of the words right, without repeating anything 2) didn’t make any huge grammar mistakes and 3) make sure the picture in my head plays out in the words. Okay, actually, I take it back. I probably re-read the fic at least 9 times before I post it.
22) Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style.
EEEeehhhh, ouch, my pride, lol. :) Well, let’s see...uh....oh, well, sure, why not. Here’s a redone version of first segment of the first story, ‘Lost Paladins’. (Yes, yes, I know, it wasn’t a very imaginative series name, but hey. Cut me a break. I had no idea I’d break the Deathly Hallows word count at the time, and I literally could not think of anything else to call it.)
The Paladins were lost. The sight of the Lions, so small and fragile against the dark void of the corrupted wormhole, was burned into Allura’s mind, along with the screams of the Paladins as they tried, without success, to keep from being flung away, out of their bays and into the unforgiving cold of space.
It was her fault. They’d come to save her.
Fighting back a sudden overwhelming urge to cry, Allura tried to regain some small measure of self-control as she slammed a sequence of numbers into the castle's command board. This was no time for tears. She had to regain control of the Castle of Lions before they fell into a star.
The corrupted wormhole flashed out of existence above them as her frantic attempts to regain control of the starship succeeded, leaving the castle and the two lone souls on it floating in the deep, cold silence of space. Distant stars gleamed above and below them.
23) If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?
This one’s actually pretty hard to answer. I might revise the first fic (Lost Paladins), but that’s mostly because my style’s changed. I’m still happy with it as a story, but I definitely would make some different choices now than I did then. Still, I don’t see a full re-write happening anytime soon. :-)
24) Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?
Nope. :-)
25) and 26) What do you look for in a beta? Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?
I actually do not use a beta, and I am not a beta myself. I actually didn’t know what they were when I first started - um - actually - this may sound a bit stupid, but what exactly is a beta? :-) :-) Someone who reads over your stuff and gives you feedback before you publish it, right?
27) How do you feel about collaborations?
They sound pretty cool! But since I don't even know what a beta actually is yet (please don’t hate me, I’m honestly just brand new to all this stuff) I’m not entirely certain how they work. :-)
28) Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Maychorian, Bosstoaster, and VelkynKarma. They have a fantastic grasp of characters, and I could go on for days about how incredible the moments they write are to read.
29) If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
Hm. I honestly don’t know. I can’t really think of any I would have ideas for. :-)
30) Do you accept prompts?
At this time, not really - it’s more due to my personal writing style than anything else. I always love to hear back from readers, though. Sometimes I can get ideas from what they enjoyed. :-)
31) Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?
I try to stick to canon whenever possible, except for when I just really want to have fun or think that something non-canon could make a situation more dramatic or has the possibility to add more tension to the situation. I mean, honestly, back in S1 I liked the Galra Keith idea because of what the team could accomplish with that being a sort of focus for events...hence the Lost Paladins series. :-)
32) How do you feel about smut?
I don’t really read it. It’s just not my thing.
33). How do you feel about crack?
Um...I feel about it the same way as smut...? I think? I do love humorous mis-adventures, but I’m not really sure if that’s the same thing as crack.
34) What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?
Um...I’m not actually sure what the question is asking...sorry. N/A
35) Would you ever kill off a canon character?
If it’s Haggar, YES. But seriously, no. Well...maybe, if it was Haggar. No one else, though. I just couldn’t.
36) Which is your favorite site to post fic?
Definitely Archive Of Our Own. I got started on fanfiction.net but it’s insanely difficult to keep a series in order on that site.
37) Talk about your current wips.
Oh, you mean works in progress! I think. :-)
Nothing is really in ‘progress’ right now, I just have some ideas on the back burner. I’m a bit emotionally exhausted from S2, but I am dabbling in some future moments or bonus scenes that should be fun. :-)
38) Talk about a review that made your day.
PrincessMnMz. Just, really, all of her reviews.
4_angsty_zukos also saying that Haggar needed to be punched in the mouth made me spit-take my coffee out of satisfaction, too. :D
Maychorian actually reading and commenting made me cry with happiness, because her Boom Crash series was just...aaaahhhh, she’s got so much good stuff. Knowing /that author/ read some of /my stuff/ was like getting a Vulcan sign from Spock. :-) Totally made my year.
And really, anyone who’s ever commented. It’s just so incredible to know people like what I write and that they wanted to tell me how they felt. :-)
39) Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?
I really haven’t gotten any rude reviews yet...but if I do, I’ll probably just reply as politely as I can and then just ignore them. I love replying to reviewers, though. :-)
40) Write an alternative ending to...Many Happy Returns.
Okay, sure, why not. :-)
Coran activated his personal comms as he hurried towards the castle’s main flight deck.
“Okay,” he heard Shiro say over the comms as they all headed towards their Lion’s bays. “Sound off once you’re ready to fly -”
“Red Leader, standing by.”
“Gold Leader, standing by.”
“Blue Leader, standing by.”
Pidge’s voice cut in then, not really annoyed, but slightly frustrated all the same at her code name.
“Argh - I mean - I liked Green Leader - but - OH! OH! Guys - I can be Rogue One!”
There was a brief pause, but Shiro sounded genuinely amused and impressed when he answered.
“You know what - that actually works. Let’s do that.”
Now that he was on the bridge with Allura, Coran could see the visual screens with the Paladins, and he saw the Green Paladin grin as she got into her pilot’s chair.
“Rogue One, standing by!” she said, beaming, and Coran saw Shiro laugh to himself as he sounded off.
“General Iroh, standing by.”
The code names over the comms as they went into battle had been the team’s idea - but Coran thought that it was entirely possible that they had just really, really wanted to get in a few more Star Wars references. Well, that and that other show.
Over the comms, he could still hear the Paladins whooping with excitement as their Lions left their bays.
“YEAH!”
“WHOOO!”
“LET’S GO!”
“IIIIIIII AAAAAAAMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGRRRRRROOOOOOOOTTTTT!!!!!!
“Okay, team - FORM VOLTRON!”
As the Defender of the Universe took shape, Coran smiled and looked back over towards Allura. The Princess was scanning the nearby star systems for any incoming Galra ships, and Rayzor was at the navigation console, making sure their flight pattern could adjust for any unexpected obstacles.
It wasn’t going to be easy, freeing prisoners and fighting the Galra Empire.
But Coran thought they were off to a very good -
Then Lance blurted out,
“Wait - Katie - YOUR FAMILY’S ON THE SHIP?!”
Coran heard the sheer joy in Pidge’s voice as she answered.
“Oh, yeah, didn’t I say?”
There was an explosion of noise over the comms.
“NOYOUDIDN’T-”
“HOLYSHITTHAT’SAMAZING-”
“THE SECOND WE GET TO THE PLANET WE GOTTA SAY HI-”
“...your...f-family...?”
Coran realized that last one had been Shiro. He sounded as if he was having a hard time articulating the words.
Pidge’s voice sounded over the comms, and she sounded truly abashed, and almost concerned.
“Oh, God - yeah - Shiro - yeah - both of them - they’re fine - they can’t wait to see you -”
“...uh...”
Coran heard the way Pidge continued to talk, as if she were completely intent on making sure Shiro knew exactly how sorry she was for not saying something earlier. It hadn’t been her fault, of course, but still, it was clear she wanted Shiro to know everything was all just fine.
“Matt made a joke - something about Zack Fair - and Dad still wants to know more about Voltron - but oh, yeah, Shiro, they’re fine - they can’t wait to see you - ”
Coran looked over at Rayzor, who looked confused.
“Is...that...some sort of code?” he asked, and Coran shrugged.
“I’m not sure,” he confessed. “Sometimes I don’t have a clue what these humans are saying.”
There was a snort of half-stifled laughter from over the comms, and Coran looked up to see Hunk bring up his comms screen.
“I got one word for you, Coran,” he said. “Wiblum. What the heck is that, anyway?”
Coran twirled his mustache. “I’ll tell you all about it later.”
He heard Keith mutter something about crazy words and mustaches, but Coran smiled to himself all the same.
Paladins.
And that’s all the questions!! Whew! :-) Well, I hope you enjoyed my little Q&A there. :-)
