The Car Alex x Fem!Reader
Summary: You get bored at The Grammys and decide to tease Alex, it goes a bit too far and he puts you in your place...
Warnings: Swearing, slight exhibitionism, pet names (doll, darling, baby, princess), Dom!Alex, Sub!reader, Hard to soft dom, degrading, a bit of bdsm, multiple orgasms, Hickeys/bruising, Oral F!receiving, a bit of aftercare not much tho. porn with a plot.
A/N: FIRST POST!!! who's clapping rn?? anyway this is literally so dirty and filthy and unholy. I really pushed my limits here. enjoy!
He was pissed. You had given him a hard-on right before he had to make a speech that will be on the internet forever. But it's not your fault The Grammys are a fucking bore, you had to entertain yourself somehow.
You started off with the classic dropping something and slowly bending over to pick it up. Alex eyed you, taking in how great your ass looked in a short, skin-tight red dress. This wasn't enough though. You needed to do more. So, when you went to sit, you pulled your dress down so far that your tits were spilling out over the top of it. Alex immediately kept his eyes locked on them. After a couple of minutes of him staring you asked "Are you okay baby?" acting all innocent, as if you didn't know exactly what was running through his mind. "Yeah, perfect" he elongated the 'er' and didn't even look up to your eyes. It was clear he wasn't talking about himself.
You decided to go back to watching the awards like normal, but every once in a while you did something very subtle like biting or licking your lips, or fluttering your lashes when talking to Alex. You knew this did something to him because he placed his hand on your thigh and started tracing circles on it. Then you decided to go all in. You leaned in close to Alex's ear, letting him feel your hot breath on his skin as you whispered "Can I sit on your lap?" You tried to sound as innocent as possible so he didn't think you were up to something. "Alright darling" He sat back in his chair as you placed yourself on him.
You sat there peacefully for a little while as you loved the feeling of his arm wrapped around you and the sweet-nothings he would whisper in your ear. You then started shifting in his lap and you felt his grip on you tighten and he spoke firmly "Stop." You turned your head to look at him and said with a smile "What? I'm just getting comfortable." You turned away, shifting a small bit more, feeling him harden him under you, until suddenly you felt his grip tighten so hard it could leave bruises and you heard his voice dangerously close to your ear "You know what you're doing baby. Stop it before i bend you over this table and fuck you in front of all these p-" He was cutoff by the announcement of the bands category. "Shit. If we win and I have to fuckin' go up there like this, I swear to god you're gonna be in so much trouble"
You gulped, not sure if you were wishing for them to win or not. "And the Best Alternative Music Album is..." Your heart was pounding as the announcer opened up the envelope, it felt like she was purposely taking forever. You subconsciously held your breath as she began to read out the name "The Car, Arctic Monkeys!" All the lads gasped and you gave Alex a kiss as you stood up off him. As he walked onto the stage he shot you a dark look.
Honestly you didn't listen to Alex's speech because you were too preoccupied thinking about what he was going to do to you when you got home, and soon you were gonna find out because the second he got back to your table he grabbed your wrist and dragged you out to the car. "Alex what the fuck? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to stay??" You were panicking a bit 'cause you knew people were going to talk about how you guys abruptly left. Alex didn't care though, at least you don't think he cared.
He didn't speak the throughout the entire car ride home despite you questioning why he did that and if he was really THAT mad. When you finally got home and you stepped inside, Alex immediately spun you around and leaned down to whisper in your ear "Go upstairs, get naked and kneel on the bed, I'll be up in a few minutes." You took a deep breath and began walking up the stairs. All you could think about is how quite literally fucked you're gonna be.
You got to your room, threw all your clothes on the floor and knelt on the bed. You heard Alex rummaging downstairs and then the sound of metal clanging against each other followed by his footsteps coming up the stairs. You got nervous when you saw his figure step into the doorway, leaning against it for a moment before taking off his blazer and neatly folding it on the dresser. Then you saw them. All ball gag and some handcuffs. Your eyes widened as Alex began approaching you. "What did you think you were doing?" There was venom in his voice that made you feel helpless. "Al, I'm sor-" "Don't fucking speak. You wanna act like a slut you're gonna get fucked like one" He grabbed your head, put on the gag and lifted up your chin between his pointer and thumb. "Now I'll be able to hear pretty noises, but won't have to listen to your stupid excuses" His words went straight to your core. As much as you hate to admit it, this turned you on so much.
He rolled up his sleeves and sat down on the bed next to you. You couldn't help but admire him, his veiny arms and how the veins plunges out when he grips onto things, his chest peaking out from under his dress-shirt and how he always has it shaved besides a single square and his hair, how it was somehow both messy and well groomed at the same time.
You were snapped out of your thoughts when Alex spoke "Over my knee doll" You gush at the pet name and oblige. "If anything is too much just tap me twice." His voice was soft but you knew it wouldn't last long as you felt a smack against your ass, your entire body jerked and you let out a loud yelp. After another couple of slaps you feel tears welling in your eyes and you were drooling all over the sheets. "Look at you, you're fuckin' pathetic"
He gave your ass three more strikes before leaning down and speaking "Does it hurt darling?" You nod. "Aww, well thats what you get for being a little slut, you know you deserve this. Now stop crying, get up and lay, face down-ass up, hands behind your back." You whine but do as he says. You heart raced when you felt Alex's hands roughly grabbing yours and cuffing them. "What a fuckin' sight" he stepped back and folded his arms, taking in the view. You felt so exposed and at his mercy.
You heard the rattle of his belt and felt a dip in the bed. Your cunt was glistening from how wet you are "Jesus, You love getting punished, eh?" Alex swiped his finger through your wetness and placed the finger in his mouth and sucked, tasting your juices "Fuckin' heavenly."
You back up your ass and whined trying to get his attention. "Don't be greedy darling, remember you place" He unbuttoned his trousers and pulled out his cock and began pumping it to the sight of you. "It's such a pity i don't see this everyday, You look so fucking good like this, my beautiful little whore" he groaned.
You felt his tip stroking your soaked folds. He stopped at your dripping hole, just holding it there until you whined. "Aw baby you want more? hm?" You whined again "Okay, I'll give you more" and with that he slammed into you, giving you no time to adjust to his size he began thrusting into you hard. All you could do is moan and sob. "Too much too fast, princess? Well you asked for it" He growled "You know you like it. Listen to you, you sound like a little cumslut" He somehow sped up his thrusts and you screamed.
He slid his arm around up your chest and pulled you up so your back was against his chest. He watched your tits as they bounced with each thrust. He groaned and dipped his head down to your neck and began nipping and sucking on your neck. "Fuckin' mine. 'm gonna make sure everyone knows how much of a slut you are."
You were making the most hoarse noises and you were drooling all over yourself. "You close already, princess?" You nodded and squeezed your eyes shut. With that he pulled out. You whined at the loss of contact. Alex picked you up and laid you on your back. "Bad girls don't get to cum on cock. Now open your legs doll."
You spread your legs as far as you could and Alex dipped his head between them. He wrapped his mouth around your clit and sucked on it, sending electricity throughout your entire body. He held down your hips as he sucked and licked your sensitive nub. You were sure you were gonna have hand-shaped bruises on your hips for days. He removed his mouth from you and inserted two long, calloused fingers into you. He curled and scissored them making you let out a load moan. He continued to finger you fast.
You couldn't take it much longer. Your hips bucked and your hole tightened around his fingers. You looked at Alex for permission to cum. "Go on darling, cum all over my fingers" and with that you let out a loud, high-pitched moan as you released. Alex didn't stop though, he kept going. You screamed and cried from the stimulation and suddenly you felt that knot in your stomach tighten again. You cried trying to get away from his fingers. "Come on baby, cum for me again" and again your orgasm washed over you, ten times more intense than before. Alex slowed down his movements then removed his fingers from you.
He smiled as he brought his fingers up this his mouth and sucked off all your juices from his fingers. He then leant down and removed the gag from your mouth. "Can you do one more for me princess? You're doing so well." You sniffled and nodded "Okay.. Just one more." "Good girl, doing so well for me" He lined his cock up with your used hole and slowly thrusted into you. He gave you a second to adjust and the slowly pulled out and pushed back in again.
Unlike last time his thrusts were slow and soft but they were passionate and deep. He places his hands either side of your head, his hair was draped off his forehead and his face was inches away from yours. He caught your lips in a long, passionate kiss as his thrusts sped up slightly. " 'm close baby" He whispered. After a couple of more thrusts you felt that knot in your stomach again, you squeezed around him to let him know you were close too. His thrusts became faster and sloppier as he chased his orgasm, you squeezed around him as you came all over him, this sent him over the edge and you felt his release deep inside you.
He rode out your orgasms, then collapsed next to you, removing himself from you. You felt empty and tired. Alex got up and unlocked the handcuffs and kissed you "I'm gonna clean you up. Do you want anything baby?" You smiled "Water please" he walked into the bathroom and grabbed a towel then got you a glass of water. He came back into the room, placed the glass of water on the bed-side table, then kneeled on the bed in front of you, he cleaned you and the sheets up then laid next to you and hugged you. "I love you baby, but please never embarrass me like that again" You giggled when you remembered what got you here "I love you too and I'm sorry for that"
And with that you laid in silence until you both fell asleep.

JCS 2000 ALBUM LISTENING (thoughts)
Disclaimer: the only Jesus Christ Superstar I've ever heard before this is the original concept album.
Heaven on their minds: wow, the mixing sucks. Also Judas' voice is odd, sounds a bit weak.
What's the buzz? Strange thing, mystifying: damn, Jesus has a soft voice. I think I kinda like it. Otherwise the track feels somehow hurried and odd paced.
Everything's alright: the mixing is so horrible it's almost making me a hater. Also, the way the singing is flowing with the music feels weird compared to the original concept album (not just on this song but the other's as well).
Hosanna: hmm, this one feels a bit more pleasant to listen to. Whoever plays Caiaphas sounds kinda bussing.
Simon Zealotes / Poor Jerusalem: even the instrumental is poorly mixed. I like the choir singing. Simon has a nice voice too. As far, I feel like they casted the main trio (Jesus, Judas, Mary) a bit poorly but the rest quite well. The mixing is too “cinematic” aka some bits are just too silent.
Pilate's dream: too fucking silent. Singer sounds like mom said that we have opera at home.
The temple: this has some of my favourite lines for Jesus. It was very promising until we got there. Jesus wasn't upset enough. Should've screamed more angrily. (Oh boy, what will Gethsemane be with this…) Also, the end part of the song began too quietly once again, but it got better. Seriously, Jesus’ singer lacks aggression. He is great but it's lacking.
I don't know how to love him: honestly, at this point I'm probably just a hater, but they played it too safe with Mary.
Damn, they just skipped songs??? Where's Damned for all time / Blood money??? (This made me realise that there's songs missing from the beginning as well.)
The last supper: was the original this long as well? This feels oddly long. The Jesus & Judas argument is cool, except angry Jesus reminds me of the video where a man was screaming at yellow paint. Choir singing slaps though. Splendid.
Gethsemane: Oh no. The beginning is horrible. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PACING OF THE SINGING??????? I want to scream into a cardboard tube. The emotion is put in the wrong places. Sounds extremely hilarious. Man screams at yellow paint again. I feel like this was too pretentious and therefore failed to be the great masterpiece it should be.
King Herod's song: hell nahh what is this goofy ahh shit 💀💀💀 I never want to hear this again.
Could we start again, please?: What's this? I've never heard this song in my life. They decided to add this instead of the banger songs they cut out??? (Ok apparently this was in the og movie. I haven't seen it so I didn't know, but this track is lame.)
Judas’ death: promising start, nice amount of drama, but that's about it. The rest is meh. Honestly, I regret uninstalling subway surfers because this is boring.
Trial before Pilate: “so the king is once again my guest” but you cut out the part where he was his guest for the first time lol. I have to admit that Jesus’ vocals are pretty neat in this (rare). Also the mixing seems to have gotten a bit better as we're reaching the end, or maybe I've just gotten used to it…
Superstar: the intro goes hard. Vocals are surprisingly good for this album too.
Crucifixion: DJHSGSDHSHSGZ omg lollll what the fuck this is just so fucking miserable 😭
John nineteen: forty-one: it's an instrumental, they can't fuck it up, right?
I want back the 1 h 19 min I just wasted from my life.

~Manifesting Seunghan's Return~
I am writing this post so that I can manifest Seunghan's return. Do I think it will work? Absolutely not LMAO however, I do think it is worth trying. For God's sake I just want to see my boy back with his 6 goofy friends ripping stages and making history.
Now, I don't follow any specific template or rules when I want to manifest something. I don't do crystals or do tarot readings for this. I literally put it into the universe by speaking or writing it down and put my trust into all the things I PERSONALLY BELIEVE IN to make things happen. What exactly do I say or write? My gut feelings, hopes and thoughts. That's it.
Mmkay...I shall begin
-Recently a former member of NCT made a comeback that no one was expecting or even wanting...with the exception of his fans. I'm not sure why, but something tells me to expect something similar in the case of Seunghan. There are many people that think he (Seunghan) is going to get kicked out of RIIZE after going quiet for probably as long as the former NCT member. Because SM is...SM, I can understand why some people would believe that and honestly, I don't see why I should throw that option out the door because quite honestly, I don't know what the fuck goes on behind it.
-HOWEVER, in Seunghan's case, if he were to make a comeback and return to our precious RIIZE, I strongly believe it will be after RIIZE has established itself as a group. My gut is telling me that it is likely that he returns after they drop their mini album, however, it isn't clear. My gut is telling me that their management is taking this very seriously because they invested a lot in RIIZE and are hoping that they are the next big group in SM. Also, I am not too sure what my gut means exactly when it says that Seunghan is likely to come back after RIIZE establishes itself as a group. I don't know if it means winning a specific award or what exactly.
-If his comeback is RIIZE's next comeback, which I believe will be their mini album, then we should expect to see random sightings of him, which have already started. Two people claimed to have spotted him shopping in Hongdae in late February. Literally today (Marh 06) an article was released that confirmed RIIZE will have a comeback next month, and in this article they mentioned all 7 members. Then, the article was updated to not mention him... Suddenly his name is making noise again.
-I feel like his team genuinely does not want him to be removed from RIIZE, though. I think many of them believe that the backlash he received was insane and unfair.
-When he comes back, there will 100% be a song about regret
-I think there is a huge likelihood that he will return to us because his scandals were not crimes or morally wrong. I'm mad they're even called scandals tbh but anyway
-I have two images in my head: a twitter post about seunghan in a couple of years praising him for his hard work and remembering the nonsense he was put through in his early debut days. The post praises him for overcoming obstacles that he faced and for becoming one of the most celebrated idols....the second one is another twitter post that feels very sad. The person that wrote the post feels like Seunghan was wronged and is disappointed...The post is also in the future, years from now.
-I don't feel the second post as strongly as the first.
-Idk I keep seeing these images in my head that feel like relief, praise, and bittersweet. Compilation videos of the RIIZE members looking at Seunghan fondly
Okay...Enough about my thoughts and gut feelings...
I hope that Seunghan returns to us very soon. I hope the people around him acknowledge how unnecessary this "hiatus" is. I understand that they probably felt like hiding him because they didn't want to tarnish the group's image (whatever), but it has been far too long. I think they kept him locked away because they realized RIIZE was riding a high wave and they didn't want any scandal to interrupt them.
Actually now that I think about it...What if my gut feeling of them waiting for RIIZE to be more established is actually them waiting for the right time for them to garner enough fans and anticipation to release theirr first mini album? RIIZE has established itself as a pretty powerful rookie group despite all the "backlash" they received (using the word backlash very loosely here btw). They have the entire industry waiting on their mini album so what if now is when Seunghan returns?!
I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but right now would be a good time to bring him up IF what I am saying is true... Anyway,
I hope that Seunghan is able to return to practice with his friends. I wish for him to be locked in and focused in the studio making music with his friends. I want Seunghan to tell the world how cute he thinks Sohee is, how Shotaro is actually the real maknae, I want to see him play around with Eunseok. I want to see him dance with Shotaro and Wonbin. I want him to joke around with Anton. I need to see him talking to Sungchan. I hope that all of these things can be done soon, on camera, for the entire world to see. I want the world to see Seunghan as a member of RIIZE. RIIZE has to promote as a 7 member group.
RIIZE is a 7 member group.
7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7.
Seunghan will return.
7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7.

Reviewing non-Marvel Loki Things (That I've Been Exposed to)
I am certain there's more, but these are all the non-Marvel Loki-related media I could think of that I've consumed. Maybe I'll do a part 2 if I think of some other things I've read/seen. These aren't really full reviews, just basic reactions of what I remember of these pieces of media.
The Gospel of Loki, by Joanne M. Harris
I...did not finish this. It was kind of interesting, I remember. But I'll be honest, one of the lines I remember most clearly is from the beginning where Loki says something like "For some reason on Asgard, I'm not allowed to fuck beasts or men and no one can tell me why." And then he just kind of, goes with it? Like first of all, why, if you can live forever, would you not only limit yourself to one gender (I'm okay with leaving the bestiality alone, but you could probably make a case for this, too, if they can consent), but force everyone else to, also? And anyway, even if Odin is a Puritan prick for some reason, the least believable thing about all this is that Loki stands for it???!!! Why is this the one thing about which he's like 'Welp, guess Odin knows best'? Frankly, it broke my suspension of disbelief for the whole thing. (You know how I was like Kid Loki saying "I killed Thor" made me go 'Oh, okay, the Loki writers don't have a clue who Loki is fundamentally'? Yeah, this is the line that made me do that with Harris.) I didn't even get far enough to maybe (probably) read my favorite myth (Sigyn catching the venom in her bowl).
Norse Mythology, by Neil Gaiman
So much better, holy shit! Leaps and bounds better!!! This is one of my favorite books. I've talked about it a little on here, but he's such a great writer, and I laughed out loud so many times for the way he portrays Thor and Loki especially (it helped that I first read this listening to him read the audiobook). I just love how he portrays Loki as only smart in comparison to the other gods, who are truly dumb as bricks, with Loki only slightly more clever by comparison. But I was still so attached to Loki that when he causes his own downfall in the end (like he does in the myths) I think I genuinely cried. This is one of those books I read at least once a year.
The Bifrost Incident, by The Mechanisms
I'll be real with you, I mostly only listened to the tracks I knew Loki (and Sigyn) were on. But I did also read the synopsis on the wiki, so I know the gist of the musical. And what I'll say of it is this: I discovered the album four days prior to writing this, and I've listened to at least the Loki track at least twice a day since. I'm a little grateful it's just (as far as I know) an album, because if there was a recorded performance somewhere, I could not watch it (even though I obviously would because I like to let myself suffer). Loki's arc is just too fucking painful (which is honestly saying something, given some of the shit he gets put through in other media).
Ragnarok, Netflix
I watched the first episode. I felt like it ended stupidly and way too dramatically for even the pilot. I know it's called Ragnarok, but it's a modern retelling, and Thor and Loki are kids, so it doesn't have to go so hard from the word Go. And Laurits did not make a good first impression on me either. Can't remember exact reasons why, though. I watched this a long time ago.

@lifemod17 tagged me in this so here's
Scarlet's Top Ten Songs
Here's the list:
Ascensionism- Sleep Token
The Summoning- Sleep Token
Work Song- Hozier
Stick Season- Noah Kahan
Waiting On The Sky To Change- Starset ft. Breaking Benjamin plus Judge & Jury
Hurt You- Spiritbox
Faultline- Starset
Already Dead- iPrevail
Ashley- Halsey
Concrete Jungle- Bad Omens
This list was almost impossible to make. My music library on YouTube Music is HUGE. Would be bigger if I was still a fan of Taylor Swift.
Full explanations below the cut 🔽
Tagging @murderofcrow if they want to participate 💜
1. Ascensionism: Sleep Token
Album: Take Me Back To Eden
Why: The god-tier drums, the guitars, the piano at the beginning and end, the lyrics. Everything about it is a masterpiece made for my ADHD brain to absolutely vibe to. Vessel said "worship" and my brain went, "bitch I may be asexual but I'm on my knees for this song"
Favorite part: lipstick, chemtrails, red flags, pink nails/ with one eye on the door, other eye on a rail/other other eye following a scarlet trail and the last drops from the Holy Grail
2. The Summoning- Sleep Token
Album: Take Me Back To Eden
Why: TikTok likes to call this song "the baby making song" and you know what? I get it. I've never fucked, but I suppose men can last for six minutes and thirty six seconds. Women definitely can. Anyways, I love how this song has range. It goes from god-tier drums (II is an absolutely amazing drummer), to epic guitar, to just the most epic of everything. The lyrics are even better.
Favorite Part: Oh and my love?/ Did I mistake you for a sign from God? Or are you really here to cut me off?/ 'Cause these days, I'd be lying if I told you that/I didn't wish I could be your man.
3. Work Song- Hozier
Album: Hozier
Why: Back when I felt like I had to listen to pop music Just Because, I wandered into the realm of Hozier. Now, Hozier I would classify more as alternative, maybe even folk, more than pop. But this song popped up when I was listening to cardigan (by Taylor Swift), and it's just... omg. Work Song is utterly an obsession and every time I hear it I'm hitting repeat faster than the speed of a bullet.
Favorite Part: Nothin' in her room, but an empty crib/And I was burnin' up a fever/didn't care much, how long I lived/But I swear I thought I dreamed her
4. Stick Season- Noah Kahan
Album: Stick Season
Why: Once you become a Hozier girlie (gn), the path that leads you to Noah Kahan is nothing more than a slip n' slide. Stick Season's chorus sums perfectly why I hate living in Ohio even though the song is about Vermont
Favorite Part: And I'll dream each night of some version of you/That I might not have, but I did not lose/Now you're tire tracks and one pair of shoes/ And I'm split in half but that'll have to do
5. Waiting On The Sky To Change- Starset ft. Breaking Benjamin + Judge & Jury
Album: N/A (single)
Why: Starset was introduced to me in high school. I'm not sure how I found their first album, but somehow I went from Bastille to Starset. Don't ask. No, I wasn't okay. Lol. This song was released two years ago and it's a whole vibe.
Favorite Part: I've been frozen since that day/ I saw my clear blue skies as they turned to gray in front of me/ It's hard to find my way Can I rise above when giving up is all know?
6. Hurt You- Spiritbox
Album: Eternal Blue
Why: The beat and especially the drums (I love me some good ass drums).
Favorite Part: I hope you find what you're fighting for/ I am happier when I hurt you/ Your medicine is the coldest war
7. Faultline- Starset
Album: Divisions
Why: Again with the drums. But particularly the lyrics. To me, it's a song about feeling insecure and anxiety. I often feel shaky in my most anxious moments so this song gets it. What's more anxious than an earthquake?
Favorite Part: It's never black and white, no/ Going seismic out of spite, oh/ I never know if it's your fault or mine
8. Already Dead- iPrevail
Album: Lifelines
Why: The heavier metal beats, the loud vocals
Favorite Part: Tell me now, how do you sleep at night?/With the Devil in your bed laying right by your side
9. Ashley- Halsey
Album: Manic
Why: I can't explain, but I feel this song deeply and personally. It's a song of longing.
Favorite Part: And if only/ the time and space wasn't lonely/ l'd disintegrate into a thousand/ I think I'm making a mistake, who will fill the empty space?
10. Concrete Jungle- Bad Omens
Album: The Death Of The Peace Of Mind
Why: I love the synth vocals, I love how the chorus feels so epic.
Favorite Part: The coyotes cry/ And the sirens pass and harmonize/ Fires starting every day and night/ Burn around us while we're trapped inside/ Wouldn't it be nice/ To play the game without a crooked die

Cool songs I heard in 2023
Tumblr media
Well obviously I am not the busiest doujin music nerd anymore (at least not busy with doujin music in particular) but I still heard a fair amount of cool stuff this year. Going to keep it jp of course, I’m not about to write a long recommendation for Beautiful Mind or Barrel to you all. Also might as well go over some 2022 picks too since I forgor to make that post last year (get it? forgor? cause people still said that in 2022? haha). Anyway, let’s dive into my top picks (in no particular order).
Tishtrya
youtube
Bro I have no idea what “Deemo” is but this song from that game has to be the coolest song I’ve heard in these two years. We’ve already liked Ai Ohsera for a while but this goes even further beyond. Honestly, I take my metaphorical hat off to such a majestic piece and hope the "weird rhythm game" money pipe never shuts off cause I'm assuming it's a major relief for an artist when they get a call to compose for any of these.
Seigiron Alpha
youtube
EVEN IF I SWALLOWED A THOUSAND NEEDLES, I’D STILL THINK THIS SONG IS COOL. The lyrics on this song go insanely hard, that gif with the pen writing while on fire is the one thing that can describe the tremendous righteousness of the words depicted in this one, I just love it. Too bad they won't just upload it singularly on spotify or whatever so I can only post the xfd.
Shuumaku no Mialuca
youtube
"Oh look the ariabl'eyes guy likes the climactic song on their new album, how original" shut up. It's cool as hell. I get emotional singing it when I drive. Fuck off.
Maindo maindo
youtube
Have already said I really like mabodofu so it's no surprise this made it in. Just very catchy, love hearing this when I drive.
Oread/オレイアス
youtube
Hell dude fuck jp composers, even finding the xfd for the song I'm looking is hard as balls and of course I can never find the actual song itself as a standalone. These people are genuinely begging for irrelevancy. Sorry to get titled but not being able to share something I really like makes me incomprehensibly upset, and I REALLY, REALLY like it a lot. Yes it's not even from these years but I heard it in these years we're covering so just put up with the rant.
Mirai donna darou
youtube
Yes I know it has +3 million views and it's basically an ad for the most profitable IP in the planet but you know what? Fuck you. I CRIED hearing this. I STILL cried by the 4th time I heard this. Pokemon brain is real and my generation is fucked. Doesn't help that I reconnected with pokemon quite a lot this year, first it was pokemon sleep, then pokedoku, now I play showdown on the daily, it's like can't live without these creatures, every time I lose interest something eventually happens that pulls me back in. Too bad SV runs like shit so I haven't finished it lol.
Also kudos to the translator managing to fit the puns into the translation, that's some real skill.
Kuroki nemuri no majo
youtube
"Wait why didn't you translate this" idk man it's cool as hell though, this is the kinda stuff I expected them to always do back when we first translated some of their songs.
Enhancer
youtube
Every once in a while you gotta wonder if Noriken is actually the best there is at tano*c.
Uru's cover of Mahou Shoujo to Chocolate
youtube
This song also fucked me up emotionally. Take the time to look up what it says cause I think it's fair to say We've All Been There. This just happened to be my favorite version.
Superman (Masketta man?)
youtube
Yea, it's not jp, BUT it's at the end of the list so I can get away with it. Blame tumblr for only allowing 10 vids per post.
Anyway, lots of cool albums recently like the new goetia, new yumi, new polysha, new rigel, and I haven't checked out mell sweet and laura bitter but I have high hopes for them. Honestly music is still great just as it's always been, just make sure you keep looking out for new stuff, you never know when you'll find a new obsession.

Any assortment of 1, 2, 7, 9, 17, 21, 22, 30 for the music ask game! It's alot but I couldn't decide which ones lol. U don't have to answer them all just pick ur favorites
jokes on you jinx i am so obsessed with music and deep within my own brainrot that i will be answering ALL of them >:D 1. a song you can listen to on repeat
now this question in particular is really hard for me, because i tend to listen to a lot of songs on loop a lot. however most of the time doing so easily makes me sick of it and i have to take a break from listening to it for a few weeks. however one of the songs i listen to a lot and never seem to get bored of is Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales by Car Seat Headrest. especially the end bit, it really scratches my brain the right way, and it's really fun to belt out the harmonies in the car when you're driving through town in the evening
2. a song from one of your favorite albums
it's no secret that i'm a slut for los campesinos. everyone knows this about me. so it's kinda obligatory that i use one of their songs for these asks lmao. my favorite album of theirs in particular is definitely romance is boring (i just adore so many songs on that album!!! genuinely it's banger after banger, i highly recommend listening to the whole album.) my personal all-time favorite from that album is definitely In Media Res, just because of the ending bit with the trumpets. holy shit i get such a surge of dopamine when gareth campesinos goes "if you were given the option of dying painlessly in peace at forty five, with a lover at your side, after a full and happy life, is this something that would interest you? would this interest you at all?" just—AGH
7. a song that reminds you of your friend(s)
this one's easy—Dynamite by BTS. my irl best friend loves k-pop (stuff like BTS and Stray Kids), and while i don't listen to it on my own, i've gotta admit, she's got immaculate taste. dynamite is the one i hear the most around, playing on the radio (because it's mostly in english and i live in a country where most people i know speak english as a first language). so literally anytime i hear this song i find myself immediately thinking of her and going to text her about it LMAO
9. a song that reminds you of yourself
this one was definitely the hardest to answer, and quite frankly, i sat at my desk for a solid hour trying to find a good one for this. but after some careful deliberation i had to go with Dear Wormwood by the oh hellos. the oh hellos are an incredible band and i genuinely adore all of their music, and highly recommend you listen to their entire discography. this song, though, holds a very special place in my heart—after all, it was my number one song on my spotify wrapped during 2020. it was the song i had on loop during the entirety of quarantine, when i was stuck in my bedroom, isolating myself from everyone in real life and online. during those months i didn't talk to any of my friends, not even over text. my only steady companion was my beloved spotify premium subscription. listening to this song over 500 times permanently altered my brain chemistry and i'm pretty sure it's the reason i have anxiety now /j
17.  a song with great lyrics
holy fuck. holy fucking shit. To Tundra by los campesinos. i literally froth at the mouth anytime i think of this song oh my gosh. i made a whole post about it ages ago but i'll go on about it again. like "meet me at st. nicholas among the oaks, behind the church that sway like pig-tailed girls as summer wind whistles around your bare-skin knees and the forsythia leaves" KADGKKDFHKADFKHK THE IMAGERY AHHHHHHHH "and in a hazy daydream, our bodies married the stream and we broke down into pebbles and silt" SCREAMING SOBBING VOMITING /pos "we take on the burden of all these sad-eyed children with lilies bunched in our hands" i am literally going to eat a brick this makes me feel so many emotions
21. a song for the rain
Woman by the 1975, probably. there are a lot of good songs to listen to in the rain but this probably takes the cake just because of how echoey and melancholy it feels. i love it when artists do that kind of stuff with the guitar and make it carry out really long—and almost make it sound like it's wailing. it's one of my favorite electric guitar effects ever and i've always found that the 1975 does that really well! and as a guitar player myself how a guitar is played and how it affects the rest of the song is really important in my picking of a favorite song. this one in particular is very versatile, and i feel like you could listen to it not only in the rain, but at night in the car too.
22. a song for dancing
Tongue Tied by grouplove!!! it's genuinely one of the most happy fun upbeat songs i know. it's like dancing in the kitchen while making cookies with your bestie at 2am kind of music. if you need to cheer yourself up and have an impromptu dance party with energy and excitement then this is the song for you!!! ultimate anti-depression song. and this also happened to be my most listened to song in my spotify wrapped 2021 if that tells you anything about how that year was for me /lh
30.  a song you recommend
Do Me A Favour by the arctic monkeys. i've been listening to them a whole lot more lately, mostly because i also admire their guitar work and also feel like their music vibe fits very well with a fic that i've been workshopping for a while and have not released yet. this one in particular is my ultimate favorite of theirs, probably because of the guitar and the lyrics that go together (but probably mostly because of how well it fits the overall vibe of the fic it goes with. and if you're interested in what it is, it's a benchtrio-centric mystery/horror au)

32 Weeks Tracklist/Song Picks pt. 2 (weeks 9-16)
Tumblr media
How/Why did I choose/chose to use the songs I did
*Full breakdown, updated in real time(weekly)*
9. Hurt Feelings x Mac Miller
I have to be completely honest. I never was a fan/gave Mac a chance until after he passed. I had begun listening to Anderson.Paak. Going through his discography was so fun. I get to Oxnard and "Cheers" gives me chills. Q-tip is on here repping for Phife- Dawg and then Paak is pouring out his soul saying he misses his friend (Mac). From that point I made it a mission to check Miller out. I wasn't impressed at first. As a rapper (who started in middle school) I was shocked that this kid made it anywhere. I keep listening. I start to understand his concept, his target audience, and realize that he is developing into something major. Macadelic was interesting to me, as well as Watching Movies.... This time period in hip hop was weird to me at the time, but going back it all makes sense. I cringed my way through Faces...I hated it first because..spoiler we know how Mac goes out and he is taunting us through out this whole album(today, I understand/appreciate his work on that project and it is a big inspiration for me with 32 Weeks). Go:od Am was a fav, as he seems more healthy and is trying to get better. I fucked with that album heavy. Divine Femine was an instant classic. I shared with my wife and we enjoy it together. Now, I must add, during this dive into Mac's cuts, I also stumbled across Dissect Podcast. The guys on there broke down everything and made me truly feel closer to Mac's Swimming in Circles. I cried so much in the fall of 2021. I had been through hell, and his lyrics just made it all make sense. Fast forward to 2023. I knew I wanted to incorporate Mac's tracks in my project but didn't know where to start. I did know I did not want to fool with Self-Care. I landed on Hurt Feelings. This beat had me unleash my pent up frustrations in dealing with members of my group that weren't moving with the same pace as me. I get it, you aren't ready, but at the same time, don't bring yourself down. I truly wanted, especially one in particular, to just be ok with himself. I wanted him to know that yes, Cato is grinding, but it is for all of us. In the meantime, support me by answering the phone, sharing ideas, and take care of yourself. Unfortunately, a few days before this track was posted, another group member(my best friend) was in a fatal car accident. So now even though the song is suppose to be a pep talk, lowkey it now feels like a send off. I also recorded a 32weeks track to Mac's Wings...more on that when the time gets closer. Anyway, if you read all of this, I appreciate you. I hope you are enjoying 32 weeks, because like most hero journeys, it is only going to get more darker before the sun come out. "Took a snapshot of hope, put it in a frame. Reminding us that sunshine always follow rain. It is what it is, found purpose through my pain...ooooo, yeah, yeah." *also, try to pick out as many Mac lyric references as possible!!

10. Ms. Mural x Lupe Fiasco
This verse started out as an oldie. I had never finished it. I had initially wrote it to a JID type beat on Youtube. When I was going through rhymes and searching more beats, I knew I wanted to incorporate Lupe Fiasco's Drill Music In Zion. There are so many sweet beats to choose from...however, 1. at the time it was hard to find other instrumentals from the album, and 2. Ms Mural had the right tempo, haunting-ness, and cadence for a verse about grief to be delivered. The album itself is of course fire. Lupe does a lot of stuff that I don't want to ruin here, but makes it worth a listen. Ms Mural is like the 3rd installment of the "mural" collection which makes it even more cooler. One thing I will spoil about the album is the fact that Lupe allows the beats to breathe. He knows when to not speak, when to just let the music speak to us. To me, its like he took his time, and was like "here you go little brother, vibe to this beat for a minute before it goes off". This felt like love and very much appreciated it. Not gone lie, the times he allows the beat to ride, had me in tears. Sh*t is beautiful lowkey. *Sidenote, this will drop 9/14, and we bury my friend on 9/18. Pain of loss is tricky. To those dealing with death right now, I hope you are taking care of yourself. If no one told you that they love you today, just know that I do!! #32weeks
youtube
11. Massa x Tyler, the Creator
Ok, I used to be ashamed to say this but now Tyler actually confirms/validates me. I never was a fan of Tyler, or the Odd-future crew. I remember Yonkers dropping, and I heard the beat first. Definitely sick(in a good way lol). Then a co-worker showed me the video…my first reaction, ewwww! I knew that bug had to be fake…I was wrong. I just knew he was doing this all for clout/going viral. That part may be slightly true, however in “Massa” (and in several interviews) Tyler just flat  says that he was going through his own development and really didn’t know how to express it. I mentioned before, that I am a huge fan of “Dissect Podcast”. Cole and the other talking head helped me understand Tyler’s direction/trajectory since stepping on the scene. They breakdown Flowerboy, and  Igor and really help listeners grasp the major art this man is giving us. Call Me If You Get Lost was an instant hit/classic to me following the previous albums. He has DJ Drama on here doing his thing, Tyler is more on par with living his life and bettering himself, and is spitting some dope lines/bars. I knew that when I began 32 Weeks I needed a Tyler track. Several tracks on the album stuck out but there was something about the intro, and the way the beat comes in, with Massa that had me keep it on repeat. The opening lines I came up with were supposed to be super gritty and cheeky at the same time. On the project, death, and the fact that we can’t out run it, is heavily on this project and well…what happens after we die? The natural move was to begin talking about spirituality and how I or we, or people in general perceive God and religion. At this time, my son was truly asking about God and who that person is. He had been talking with a classmate and his friend actually shared his thoughts with my son. I chose to not mock or shut it down. I chose to expand on that knowledge. We had some great talks about it. I usually spoke freely about God in my music but at this point, not this extent, where I am on the skeptical/unsubscribed side of things. I started my own spiritual journey back in 2012, finally expressing to my mom in 2016 that I no longer follow Christ. Naturally she thought she made a mistake with me but that’s not true. Anyway, due to the people I know hearing this, and maybe thinking they knew me and now they may feel some type of way, has caused me to feel higher levels of anxiety. Since it dropped today (9/21/23) I already feel slightly better. I respect everyone’s beliefs, faith, and religion. But If you ask me why I feel like I do, I will tell you. Anyway, if you are reading this, thank you for spending your time with me. I love you and appreciate you.

12. The Halo x Marconi Union
I have this weird thing were I can be inspired to write from any type of music. I actually fell in love with Marconi Union during my Graduate School years. I had been procrastinating on a 30 page paper that was due the next day or so. I was freaking out, high anxiety and the works. I remembered that someone had mentioned this track called Weightless. Weightless is/was known for relieving stress because its totally lofi, but also moves at 60 bpm which instinctively helps us slow down and relax. Weightless was so successful that fans were requesting a longer version. The band made an 8 minute version and a 30 minute version. On youtube you can find a 10 hour version(linked above)! Since then, I have fallen in love with their catalog. On a specific day during the 32 weeks writing phase, I had a rough morning with my oldest son. I can’t remember exactly what the issue was but the feeling left me empty, like doubting my abilities as a father. On the route to drop him and his brother off at school, I put on “Signals” the 2021 album released by Marconi Union. I was like ‘yeah that’s how it feels right now.” The Halo starts to play and I began humming along. Words began coming…”Even if I fly…I still fall..” “I knew that if I came with all the proof…” It was on this day I realized that I had the power to take an emotion and turn it into sound that can resonate with humans and connect us. I hope that the track makes up feel seen and understood. I hope that you realize you are stronger than you know/feel, and that even though we fall, we can always get back up. My favorite line: “Doubting all my might is like the crushing blow, won’t get back up this time..”. – This is a reminder that doubt kills dreams, don’t let it kill yours!
youtube
13. Leslie Odom Jr x Wait For It (Hamilton Musical)
I know that people everywhere already remixed/redid/parodied/etc the Hamilton Musical. This is one is technically an older instrumental for me to use as well. However, when I was in the writing process for 32weeks, I was struggling to find the next instrumental, but I remembered this album and started listening more. Because I was late to the musical (I caught it on Disney plus when it was released on the platform in 2020) it still feels new to me. All I can say is Lin is a genius. In all the [cinematic] works that he has contributed to musically, you can hear his rhymes penetrate the material making it elevate to greatness. Hamilton has so many noteworthy tracks I wanted to use such as “Nonstop”,  “Guns and Ships” or a huge favorite “The Reynold’s Pamphlet”  but there is something about the tenderness, yet strength that operates on “Wait For It" that always moves me to tears…not really sadness, more like peace that somethings we just have to wait for. Leslie delivers an amazing performance that truly takes Lin’s words, and turns them into a mood worth revisiting.  In this track, I breakdown the timeline of the inception of B.L.A.M.E. , the decline, and now resurgence of the idea. It is a reminder that this music is therapeutic, personal, and keeps me feeling gratitude that I can create.
youtube
14. SZA x Kill Bill
Let's just clear the air right now....yeah everything I write is true, and to the best of my memories ability...especially when dealing with events that happened so long ago. This one was hard to write but before we dive into that, I want to acknowledge Sza. SOS has been viewed as a long awaited project and she totally delivers. The album is filled with awesome musicality's. Specifically, Kill Bill for whatever reason just laid on my heart. When writing 32weeks, this instrumental stuck out the most to me. I vibed with it. Those opening lines came to me easily, because I wanted to make it clear that I am happy with my life right now, and do not intend to try to revive old love lost. I believe if you pay attention, you can hear my honesty piercing through. I didn't want to hold back. A lot of the events or relations I discuss, could each have their own song. The longest one I talk about is the betrayal of a female friend who lied to her family that I slept with her, got her pregnant, and God knows what else, all to protect the parents' friend she was actually laying with. It hurt because I had no idea and people, such as a love interest, were mad at me for this and I was confused. I had been meaning for a long time to write about it, but the words never came out right. This time around I vomited it all out. Hell, I still have the Facebook messages of this person denying the info her brother gave me. In the end, the idea is to forgive, let live, and move forward. By writing all this out, and expressing hope that her and all the others find peace and happiness, has made me feel at peace myself. I can finally put that mess to rest. I am grateful for the woman I have in my life. If you are reading this just know that you are worthy of love, peace, and respect. Those young adult years get messy. My hope for you is that you navigate it all with courage and integrity. I hope you enjoy the visuals, and the music. If no one has told you today that they love you, I do!
youtube
15. Vince Staples x Take Me Home
Look, ever since I got hipped to Mac, I got pulled into Vince Staples. The Stolen Youth tape introduced me to vince and of course his feature on FACES x Rain made me go back and chech his whole discography. When I caught up on Staples' work, I believe he was just then released/releasing his self-titled record,"Vince Staples" album. I played it just about everyday. I love his authencity as a person who really doesn't love being a "rapper" but rather sees it as a way to connect to creating a better life for him. He is pretty candid about it and I respect it because even though thats true, he still puts effort and honesty in his music. When I was writing 32Weeks I knew I would incorporate Vince in the mix. This album had many tracks I wanted to utilize but Take Me Home(start at 8.14 mark), just takes the cake. The instrumental always give me chills, and the opening line...I knew from the jump I was gonna flip it for myself. "I don't wanna die, but I will for the cause...". I switched it to "I don't wanna kill but I will for my loves". I set my intro as my family means alot to me, and I do what I have to to protect them. After that the verse started coming out of me as a moment to reflect on my childhood. This mostly encumbers issues of race, bullying, loss, fitting in, and just how it all progressed from elementary to high school. As far as track number, it sits right before the halfway mark, adding to the 2nd phase of #32weeks doubt, self pity, and really just the dark themes expressed and explored in phase 2. I visit another Vince track later in the tape and I can't wait to share it with you. The visuals in this release use imagery from John Wick, Us, Get Out, interviews with Wayne Brady/Michael Blackson, Big Mouth, and Coach Carter. If you are reading this, I appreciate your time and hope you are doing ok. I love you, and I hope you tell someone you love today, that you love too! We never know what people are going through, but when we have the love of others surrounding us, we feel like we can handle anything!
youtube
16. J. Cole ft. 21 Savage, Morray x My Life
So....I don't know if J. Cole is my favorite rapper, however I do find myself revisiting his albums often. 2014 Forest Hills Drive was a turning point I really fell in love with this man's craft. I appreciated his shift in conscious, attempting to distribute a more positive and uplifting message in his music. Kendrick is one I feel has mostly focused on giving us the type of love in his music, specifically in his albums. Kendrick though, can kind of come off too complex/deep to point one may miss the message. Cole's approach is so laymen in approach that you can't miss the message but at the same time you still contemplate what he is getting at. 2021 was a rough year for me. Especially going into the fall school year, The Off Season presented so many affirmations and motivations for me to push harder to make it through. Tracks like Amari, hell the opening track ft. Cam'ron! Cam is an emcee I grew up listening to, had mad respect for, but haven't checked for in a while. Hearing his voice amp up Cole gave me chills. When I was writing 32weeks, I knew I would use a Cole beat...but which one?? I wanted it to me more recent, but like all tracks I use, I wanted it to be meaningful to me. On 'My Life', the opening lines of the sample, Cole talking about how we can't rush God, the way he opens his verse, and 21 Savage's flow all contribute to me falling hard for this track. So around my 14th/15th verse(I didn't necessarily write these in tracklist order that you come to know) I was really nervous and losing hope. Guys, I truly didn't think I could write 32 verses...especially in the time frame I set for myself. But then, I don't know what happened. I played this instrumental and I instantly heard in my head "Spiraling up, just like my ancestors DNA. Hashtag 32 weeks, my nigga we halfway!" Then the idea of using the length of the beat (just over 2 minutes) as a vessel taking me back in time to warn my younger self seemed like the right move. I mostly focus on the mistakes of not going all in with music, not seeing how much Erin truly was the one the whole time, and not standing on my own like I should have back then. I end the track with singing to my younger self that although things seem dark right now, listening to me now, things will workout. Unfortunately, I didn't heed those warnings. Sometimes we have to be hard headed and go through trials and tribulations in order to develop into the person we needed/were always meant to be. With all that said, I hope you feel this one. The relief I feel right now is the same sentiment it was when writing that 16th verse. Now, it has been the 16th video, and I feel like I can truly complete what I started. Besides, whether people see this or hear this, the goal is for me to do this for me....and I am!

Now I'm curious, which TS would each member of Dethklok rock? (Besides Reputation, they could all rock Reputation)
God yeah they all could all rock Reputation
Pickles seems like either Evermore or Folklore (Def likes both) catch him listening to Tolerate it in a pool of his own tears
I don't even think he's drunk
Skwisgaar is Midnights. You're on your own kid will make him cry. (Pickles too. Catch them holding hands and sobbing while reassuring each other they aren't lil bitches)
Toki is Red (much like me in HS) it's a solid mix of happier songs he can enjoy while still having those emotionally devastating ones. I feel like he would like Taylor over all though and is the most open about it. He also cries the least compared to some people...who may be play leas guitar and drums who knows.
Nathan and Murderface are hard. They're probably the most likely to not like TS but I'm gonna still try to assign them an Era
Nathan I'm gonna say would fuck with Speak now most out of all her eras. (Reputation excluded)
Dear John goes hard. He will say that with his whole chest.
Uuuuugh William is hard. I have a handful of songs I associate him myself but it's such a mix of eras.
Fuck it. Murderface is Lover. The archer would make him soft. I'd bet money on it.
You didn't ask for Charles but he seems like he'd like her earlier work so I'll go with Fearless
Abigail gets Reputation. That's HER album. Fuck the boys.

(#) people you want to get to know better
I saw it on the (handwavy gesture) timeline thanks to @saltysatellite804 so I'm gonna do it with my usual lack of brevity :)
1) three ships:
1. I also have many a ship so I'll go with the one I brainrotted really hard for over the last few years, yalex (yassen gregorovich/alex rider) my beloved from the series alex rider! [assassin with a soft spot/extremely reluctant teen spy] dynamic, there's a shit ton of parallels between them, the metaphorical ghost that is alex's dad haunting the both of them, lots of angst-hurt/comfort potential, some infamous lines from the book that is nothing short of describing yassen in unneccesary detail or a literal love confession, I don't take concrit, thank you! thanks to the tv series there's been more fics but I would definitely still categorize it as a rarepair. somehow there still feels like there's such a wealth of excellent writing though!
2. next is adayu (adachi tohru/narukami yu) from the hit game persona 4 or persona 4 golden. [super nuanced jaded cop that goes too far/new in town protag who gains friends as a bit of a butterfly effect from said antag's actions] dynamic, yin-yang opposite sides of the same coin or two roads diverged mirrored equals, and definitely the darker accomplice!yu ending which leads to a lot of creative headcanons and whatnot. also a rarepair that within the last 3 years got a couple of excellent new longfics thanks to the various ports! I have an active discord server for the pairing with about 60-ish people total so we're going strong >:3c
3. finally I'll go with the ship that was the first "fandom" environment I participated in, eobarry (eobard thawne/barry allen) in all media forms, honestly. ngl I was kind of... young then cough so I tried not to be perceived as much as possible... I respect past!fel's enthusiasm but that's about it LOL. simple yet delicious [obsessed antag who is ready to ruin protag's life at a moment's notice/heart of gold protag who messes up... sometimes] dynamic that I need to get back into in order to describe it further. as you can tell, I'm all about the "but they're just opposite sides of the same coin" trope because this one's literally the flash and the reverse flash. from what I remember, I adored eowells but was always craving for more OG thawne in the tv series. in fact, I scoured through the recent flash movie trailer like a goddamn madman in hopes of catching a glimpse of the reverse flash, but no dice. did a little bit of ranting about it here and there on various platforms but since there's visible elements of change in the trailer such as kara instead of kal-el or how barry actually talks to his alt!self and doesn't knock him the fuck out or phase him out of existence, there's a chance they're gonna pull the whole barry vs evil!barry shtick again and I'm going to have to have to write self-cest. also again. rooting for suprise thawne in the theater when I go and watch it to reignite this possible flame, yeah?
2) first ever ship - it's not something I actually remember because it was that long ago. I can, however, tell you that the first three ship fic I wrote were hetalia character/reader-insert fics over on ff dot net about eight years ago. they didn't even last half a year before I wiped them from existence LOL but I've not deleted anything after that ‘cause I not longer care to
3) last song - it's still pulled up right now on my device, heh. it's shadow from the album "face the sun" by the kpop group seventeen. it's a gorgeous song, and if you look up the lyrics, they definitely hit too. about accepting the flaws in yourself, fears, shadows, etc etc
4) last movie - I actually rewatched the animated "flashpoint" movie recently because of the new flash trailer, ha. still can't get over thawne walking out of the shadows mid-movie stirring a mug of (?) so casually jsdfhsdkjfs
5) currently reading - like any other mentally well person, I have over 150 ao3 tabs open, so I'll choose the one that's most recent and relevent. the fic's called "something rich and strange" that's (the distortion/martin blackwood) for the magnus archives. take care to read the tags if you click into the fic^^
6) currently watching - not watching anything at all that can't be finished in one sitting because I've been so busy. the only thing I can think of is my once per week saturday blue lock episode. blue lock's a really well animated and cool-looking hardcore soccer anime that I would say is a totally different genre from something like haikyuu. it's about growth and egocentrism and super fun to watch; it's in-progress but there's over 12 episodes out already
7) currently consuming - the last thing I ate was some pani puri and naan >:P
8) currently craving - you don't understand how badly I need to see that flash movie. I need a flash that's a new flavor from the CW's and I also desperate crave for eobard thawne's entire ass character to exist again. if we're talking food, it's a bit too cold for me day after day so a heart and body warming meal of hot pot with lots of greens and root veggies, mushrooms, fish balls with roe, slices of beef and other meats or seafood, various tofus, and a delicious spicy soup base sounds so good right about now but I'd have to pester my roommate to drive me somewhere to grab it... maybe next week heh! another thing might be, hmm, dragon age 4? get in my mouth right now, dreadwolf.
lastly, the (totally optional) tag line: @suzie-shooter, @that1qb, @lastlymatt, @aurastiel, @spicavenius, @kelbrid, @weavingmemories

It's Waterparks album release day baby! And you know what that means!
It's time for
Kill The Rockstar Reacts To Music: Intellectual Property by Waterparks
Starf*cker
- It makes me wonder about the album, is it the story if one relationship? Or a Midnights kinda thing where it's about different moments throughout his life?
- The chorus especially feels how it feels to work on a show - I don't know how else to describe it, and 'it just hurts cuz I want it'
Real Super Dark
- The link from the end of Starf*cker is cool
- Going from 'it's been a pleasure, its nice to meet you' to 'everyone's freaking me out' is a very cool contrast
Funeral Grey
- It's funky fun, it feels like Double Dare grown up, I love it
- The spelling makes me ask if the woman he's talking to is British, and I also think we need to focus more on the fact her FAVOURITE COLOUR is fucking GREY???
- Awsten's flirting techniques being 'what's your favourite colour' 'smoking is carcinogenic' 'fuck me' is hilarious to me
Brainwashed
- I was obsessed the minute this came out
- I love playing this on bass, the timing is really nice and I like playing with the dynamics between the verse and chorus
- Falling fast for someone like that sounds terrifying, can't relate but I love the concept
- Looking at your crush and going 'why??' is absolutely a mood
2 Best Friends
- The next time I go out with my two besties the guy I've had a crush on twice is also meant to be there and something about that feels perfect for this song even though we're friends now and I literally invited him
- The synth sounds liked Glitter Times!!!
- I like this because even if I don't get like this about romance, 'it didn't work and I feel like shit. Wake up tomorrow and try again' is very much applicable to me. Shit sucks, things don't magically get better overnight, but fuck it we keep going.
End of the water (feel)
- The chorus feels like having a crush. It's like my heart is reaching out.
- The verse sounds like what goes on in my brain a lot of the time - maybe I do have ADHD..
- It's such an emotional song and my jaw literally dropped
- and then at the ernd you have FUCKING KURTIS CONNOR I burst out laughing it's 1am fuck
Self Sabotage
- I don't know what to say, it's a good song
- I think we're all guilty of self sabotaging behaviour to some degree but it's very interesting to hear someone else describe their experiences with it
Ritual
- something about it is reminiscent of the music I loved as a child - I've been into alternative music since I was born, and I can't quite place what it is but there's a nostalgia to it for me
- it's the equivalent of Tantrum orr Turbulent I guess but it feels so different
- the reference to Lemonade >>>>
Fuck About It
- The contrast between Ritual talking about his trauma and how he feels he's being taken advantage of, then Fuck About It being about a relationship where its just about sex because the other party doesn't want to communicate with him (and then that in contrast to Self Sabotage where its him who keeps trying to push her away)
- It's a fun song but as usual, I am left wanting to give Awsten a hug and stroke his hair like he's a cat if I think about the lyrics too long
Closer
- This ripped my heart out
- 'I feel love a different way' as someone who's a-spec that hit me hard.
- I have been here I have felt this
- 2000's pop punk vibes, reminiscent of All Time Low (I do not support ATL🖕) - reminds me of listening to Last Young Renegade on my sunset walks during lockdown
- The quiet, almost whispered final chorus!!!
A Night Out On Earth
- religious trauma ❤️
- 'A night out on earth, last one for a while, it can't get worse' just makes me think of my last night out before lockdown which was the end of a three year friendship.
Anyway.
- ending the album with audio from one of their early radio interviews is not making me emotional at all /s

Rules: Share 10 facts about yourself and tag other blogs! I want to get to know my mutuals, and the people I follow a little bit :) The facts can be about anything! Tagged by: @ladywartooth42
1. I love kidlit and my biggest pipe dream is one day making my favorite children's novel into an animated mini-series. I like to sketch concepts for the character designs during my free time!
2. I'm a former gifted kid except I didn't burn out but willingly gave up the lifestyle at some point.
3. I started watching Metalocalypse when I was in middle school, which... I know, probably fried my brain. Back then I was already crushing HARD on Charles, even though I could only find season 1 on some sketchy low-quality website. It was only in 2021 when I found the whole show on HBOmax (😑) and finally watched it all. It was like reuniting with a long-lost friend.
4. I'm on Zoloft due to a case of The Heebie-Jeebies (anxiety) but if all goes well I'll be taken off of it in a couple of months YIPEE
5. I like reading out loud for other people. I've forced my boyfriend to sit through me reading the novel I mentioned in point number 1 and I've also read a couple of books to my mom in the car while she drives. I think I'm pretty decent at it. I won't do overly exaggerated voices for the characters, but I do try to adjust my pace and tone to fit each scene.
6. Even though I'm mexican I fucking hate avocados.
7. I'm illustrating each song from an album by my favorite band (Nightwish!) as a final project for school. It's what I'm currently working on and the reason I can't indulge in making Metalocalypse fanart as much as I'd like to. You can see a little bit of my progress on that project over at my art blog! More to come soon!
8. I was raised catholic (oof, I know), but I am now a weird type of atheist who only half-hopes the christian god exists just so I can punch him and also 100% believes in fairies for various reasons.
9. I collect kaleidoscopes! My collection is rather small but I'm proud of it. This one is my favorite of them all:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. While I *know* that corporations are the most responsible for pollution and climate change, I still try to live as low waste as possible! I carry a reusable water bottle, I use a menstrual cup and often try to pack a lunch from home when I'm going out, in order to avoid buying food in disposable packages. If you catch me at a convenience store or ordering takeout it's probably because I'm really hungry and/or tired! I'm not perfect, but I still try!
Tagging: (Please don't feel pressured to participate if you don't feel like it!) @gogomeaty, @gointothevvater, @thatwritingho, @twigg96, @dolly-macabre, @black-klok-youth-pastor and @pikaflute. ALSO if anyone else wants to do this consider yourself tagged and go tell people I tagged you no one will fact check it I promise

20 - ZZ Top - Eliminator (1983)
Tumblr media
Ah, ZZ Top. The Houston blues-rock band known for spinning fuzzy guitars and big ass beards, except for the one guy who's last name was actually "Beard".
Having existed in America during the 80s and 90s (and having lived in Houston itself for a year and half) of course i know their hits (and i can see a few here) but I'm kinda excited to hear the deeper cuts.
Speaking of ZZ Top's deeper cuts: i got to see these guys live at Bonnaroo, but i don't think they quite got the point of Bonnaroo. Typically, if you're there, you're playing the hits. The Big Numbers. The ones you know everybody there is gonna be able to sing along to.
Over the course of 45 minutes, they didn't play a single song i could recognize.
I don't have an ounce of shame in saying that yeah, I left that set early and went to a different stage to watch The XX right as they started playing Intro.
Easily one of the better calls i made at that festival.
•Gimme All Your Lovin'-
Such a simple but effective drum beat. No frills but it doesn't need 'em.
Aggressively horny lyrics, but it feels almost campy with how straight they're delivered.
"If i blow my top, will you let it go to your head?" At the risk of sounding like John Waters for a moment, i think the world needs more barely-disguised lyrics about getting a blowjob, especially these days where it really seems like everybody's horny but nobody fucks.
"You got to pack it up, work it like a new boy should." Happy pride month, y'all.
•Got Me Under Pressure-
This girl sounds FUN AS HELL. I'm reminded of Sheryl Crow here: "are you strong enough to be my man?" (Yeah i know that's not what that song is about but play with me in the space here.)
•Sharp Dressed Man-
1000% the first song that comes to my mind when i hear "ZZ Top".
Also 1000 is likely the number of times I've heard this song in my 38ish years on this rock.
That riff still kicks all kinds of ass though.
Audience participation section: which movie's "main guy wearing a bunch of different suits for 5 seconds each" changing-room montage do YOU think of when you hear this?
(Correct answer: it's literally the background song for every. single. one. since this album came out.)
Also white gloves and looking for love...that's... certainly a look.
•I Need You Tonight-
I fucking love this song!
Oh wait, shit, no I'm thinking of INXS.
Jokes aside, i really like the echoing guitar tone.
Pretty solid bluesy "i miss my woman" song. If this album wasn't already stacked, I'd say this could have been a single.
And that solo, though!
•I Got The Six-
Before this one started, i was wondering what the six was referencing. A six pack of beer? I got your back? HAHAHAHA NOPE.
"I got the six, gimme your nine!"
Again, more songs about blowjobs! Sixty-nining, even!
And also, if you're attracted to women and you don't/won't eat pussy, know that i have lost some respect for you.
Horny as hell song, but it gets a nod of overall approval especially since the end is kinda hilarious.
•Legs-
ATTENTION META: 40 years ago, the bearded ones taught us all about the importance of having Legs and knowing how to use them. Y'all had no fuckin excuse for your floating torso mananangal-wannabe bullshit.
This song goes so fucking hard. At least 35% harder than a song about legs should go. I hate that it fades out during the solo, though. Let that man cook!
•Thug-
I know, I KNOW this album came out at least a decade before the show did, but that slap bass just feels Seinfeld-y. Funky, but Seinfeld-y.
Also, calendar check: June 21 is Thug Day, i guess. Remember to keep your machine guns and money secure, and bust your friends out of jail!
•TV Dinners-
Know what? I can appreciate that Billy and/or Dusty sings about processed microwaved slop with the same exact amount of gusto and dedication that he does about the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.
Otherwise it's basically a novelty song, imo. I can't believe it was a single.
•Dirty Dog-
Ah, the flip side of aggressively horny: the creepy/gross/misogynist angle. God forbid a woman does anything.
Also this really sounds like a ZZ Top b-side. It literally sounds like 4 of their other songs put in a blender for a while.
•If I Could Only Flag Her Down-
The misogyny continues and deepens.
In lieu of a review for this song, here's a lyric:
"I just want to crash her/
I just want to trash her."
And here's the vomiting emoji 20 times:
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
•Bad Girl-
"Praise kinks DNI": the song. I feel like i need a shower after hearing this.
Well, the second half of the album sucks some real shit, but Legs is still a banger. It's pretty easy to see why the deep cuts stay deep, though.
And, like many, many albums I've heard before: after the first 5 or so songs, it's just time to put on a new album.
Favorite Track: Gimme All Your Lovin'. 100%.
Least Favorite Track: If I Could Only Flag Her Down. I'll spare you another 20 vomit emojis.

HOME. finally. oh my god. okay so trifonov concert ramblings:
i don't even know what to make of it because on one hand i think i was witness to the second coming of christ and on the other i have never been more irritated in my life. there was a high-pitched ringing sound during the second half that was Loud and it completely took over the music whenever he got quiet which meant the entire second movement of ravel's gaspard de la nuit was like Lost to me as was his mozart and part of his scriabin sonata. so like FUCK but also. fuck
i thought his schumann was great, but there were moments where i was like. hm. are you sure you wanted to do that. poor guy seemed exhausted even as he was walking on stage before he played anything, so tbh i think it's incredible that he pulled out the performance he did already. my friends were so critical though lmao they were like "i didn't think the fantasie was convincing enough" and "the tchaikovsky was all fluff" like chill and appreciate the smaller things please!!!!!! i learned a lot tonight just by listening!!!!!
been trying to articulate it and this might flop but okay here goes: the thing i appreciate most about trifonov is the attention he pays to all the notes and the purpose he gives to the music. nothing is just played to be played, and his voicing and phrasing work are god tier. his musicality lends itself to incredible moments, like maybe it was the acoustics and piano helping him out, but whenever there was a phrase that needed resolving, the sound gripped me by the throat. i literally couldn't breathe until he resolved the chords and i've never had that physical a reaction to the music before. it's because every sound had something to say, and he rlly forced us to focus on the minuscule details, which can be sooo hard to do in an echo-y hall... but he did it! he made tangible the immaterial.
honestly his studio albums and youtube don't do him justice. there's something so hypnotizing about the way he plays a room?? eg during one of the tchaikovsky children' album movements he did a subito piano at the climax of an energetic section--nothing rocket sciencey or inventive--but the way he did it literally had the entire audience chuckle/hum in an i-see-what-you-did-there way. the sheer charisma he has in his playing simultaneously destroys my self esteem and motivates me it's insane. that wasn't a one-man show, that was a dialogue
a russian lady sat beside me (duh. trifonov. we were surrounded by russians) and i think she teaches music at the conservatory or smth anyway she knew the repertoire inside-out and when she approved she would nod solemnly, pat her thigh, and mutter da under her breath. it was equally endearing and terrifying
im so fucking tired i've been up for 23 hours but im also bouncing off the walls like GUYSSSSSSS that was daniil trifonov!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my favourite concert pianist since 2019!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i experienced it all with people i grew up learning music with !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if i think about it too much i will explode it's actually insane like wdym i'm still talking about piano with the kids i met when i was 6 in another province. ur joking. ur joking!
