this was made for @emo-space-gay's bday a couple years back, but sta's fine with me posting it and @neocute1 left kind tags on the original story with these characters so °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° this is a vague soulmate au so idk if it's the exact same world as the first but <3

“It’s just not fair,” Claude whined.

Serenity laughed. “Our relationship isn’t exactly platonic.”

“But it’s not fair,” Claude repeated, flopping their head down in her lap to pout at her. “I wanna be your soulmate.”

“Awwww,” Serenity cooed, shoving down the tangle of fondness that statement brought in favor of rubbing her nose against theirs and baby-talking, “Is someone jealous that I have friends and you leech them off me?”

“I do not!” Claude shoved a hand in Serenity’s face and pushed it away as they sat up. “They’re my friends too!”

“Leech,” Serenity sang, slightly muffled by their hand. “Can’t make your own friends so you steal mine.”

“I can make friends! I’ll make— so many friends, and then I’ll exclude you and say you’re leeching off me, and you’ll be so sorry.”

“Sure,” Serenity said, grin peeking out from behind Claude’s hand. They shoved her face to the side, and she shoved their face in retaliation, and then they got into a minor shoving war that ended when Claude licked her hand.

“Hey!” Serenity snatched it back, scowling through her (still present) grin, and wiped it off on her shirt. Claude stuck their tongue out at her, and she snatched her hand back again.

“Beat you,” Claude sang, smirking in what Serenity just knew was a mockery of when she’d teased them a few minutes earlier.

“Oh nooooo,” she groaned dramatically, flopping sideways with a hand pressed to her forehead. “I’ve been bested. I can no longer be seen around you, the shame is too great.”

Claude snickered. “Haha, loser.”

Serenity sighed as loudly and showily as she could. “Guess I’ll have to go hang out with Luke, then—”

Claude’s face fell, and they crossed their arms, gaze trained away from her.

“Yeah,” they huffed, then turned back to her, flashing a slightly strained grin. “And I’ll go make loads and loads of friends, and you’ll be the leech.”

Serenity snickered. “Alright, have fun, then.”

They nodded jerkily and strode out of the room. Serenity’s smile fell as the door closed, too controlled to be an actual slam but with the same energy. Had she overdone it with the teasing? Accidentally hit a nerve? Were they that bothered by Luke being her soulmate; they knew they were still her best friend, right?

She’d give Claude their space, and then when they got back she’d have to tell them how much they meant to her.

“Stupid,” Claude grumbled, not entirely sure if they were referring to themself or Serenity.

It wasn’t like they didn’t know she was teasing. They’d been teasing too, mostly. (Not about wanting to be soulmates, but that was their fault. They’d given away too much and treated it too lightly, and when Serenity had treated it the same way, it’d cracked a little. It wasn’t her fault, she didn’t know.)

So feeling upset about it was dumb and rude of their brain, and maybe they’d actually, y’know, communicate some of this to Serenity — key to healthy relationships, yada yada yada — but not before they made a friend and showed her up. Just because they were in the same friend group didn’t mean Claude couldn’t make their own friends!

...Admittedly, they weren’t sure how to go about seeking out people to befriend, but it’d be fine! They could just— go to the marketplace, there were tons of people there, surely someone else there was in need of a friend? They got this!

Okay, so maybe making a sign that read “in the market for friends” was a little too on the nose, maybe reeked of desperation a little, but it was true, wasn’t it? Their sign told people exactly what they were looking for, and since they didn’t have a stall then they could walk around while holding it and have more people see it!

And Serenity didn’t like how crowded the marketplace was, so she wouldn’t be here while they were walking around with their sign and thus wouldn’t see it and laugh at them for it. Their plan was foolproof, surely.

...Except for the part where it took both hands holding it for the sign to be visible. Walking around advertising an available friendship was hard work, especially on a sunny day when they hadn’t thought to bring anything to drink with them. And they were thirsty, and being well-hydrated was important, so they sighed and got in line at a drink stall, tucking their sign under their arm. They’d had the foresight to bring money, thankfully.

Besides, it wasn’t like there was one person in the whole market who would be their friend, and taking a ten minute break to grab some water would mean they missed that person. Claude nodded to themself, taking a step forward as the line moved up.

Except right as they moved, someone crashed into them, sending them both to the ground.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry!” the someone cried, skittering to their feet and bending to help pick up Claude’s stuff.

“It’s fine,” Claude told them, subtly checking for their money. The person seemed genuine, but Claude had seen good actors before, and it was better safe and hydrated than sorry and not. The money pouch was still there, so they repeated, “It’s fine, you’re fine. I’m okay.”

“Hi Okay, I’m Nat,” they muttered, eyes blowing wide when they realized what they said. Claude thought they might’ve said something about “force of habit,” but was too busy laughing to catch it.

“It’s Claude, actually,” they introduced themself once they’d calmed down. “They/them pronouns.”

Nat grinned. “Nat, ne/nym pronouns.”

“Got an N theme going on there, huh?”

Nat huffed, sounding amused, and picked up their sign, handing it over to them at an angle that allowed nym to read it as ne did so. Nir burst of laughter told Claude exactly when ne’d finished reading it.

“I don’t think you get to judge me, here.”

Claude crossed their arms, pouting at nym, which only seemed to fuel nir laughter.

They waited patiently for a minute for nym to stop, then impatiently for another 10 seconds or so before deciding, “You know what? Just for this. Just for this, I’m making you be my friend now. This is not a choice.”

This, unfortunately, only sent Nat into further hysterics. Claude pouted at nym harder.

“Okay,” ne finally wheezed, “okay, I’ll be your friend. One condition.”

“What?”

“I get to answer any questions about how we became friends.” Ne grinned at them.

“O...kay…?” Claude squinted, trying to find the catch in the deal.

“Great!” Nir grin widened, and ne finally handed Claude’s sign back to them. “Why do you have a sign for friendship, anyway?

“To prove a point,” they answered airily. When Nat elbowed them: “My partner said I leech all my friends off of her, so I came to make a new one to prove her wrong.”

Nat hummed doubtfully. “I don’t know, you do look kind of like a leech.”

“Hey!”

“A distinctly leechy look about you, you know how it is.”

Claude lunged, intending to either shove nir face or wrestle nym into taking it back (teasing Nat already felt comfortable, but they did just meet, and Claude wasn’t sure of the boundaries yet). Nat dodged, taking off, and they chased nym through the marketplace.

Nat laughed loudly, turning around briefly to stick out nir tongue at them and promptly slamming into someone. Claude skidded to a halt, pointed, and laughed.

“‘Scuse me!” Nat squeaked to the person, who grumbled but moved away without further complaint.

“I found another friend for you,” ne stagewhispered to Claude.

“Friend-breaking up with you,” Claude declared. “They are my new friend, not you, I’m friend dumping you.”

Nat hummed, then told them, “Nope.”

“Nope?”

“Nope!” Ne nodded. “We both agreed to the terms and conditions, we are officially friends and the contract is not so easily broken.”

“I’m ripping it into pieces,” Claude deadpanned.

“I’ll eat it before you can.”

Claude sputtered. “Eat? You— wouldn’t that destroy it just as thoroughly as me ripping it up?”

Ne shook nir head. “I swallowed it whole, which means it’s still intact and still in effect.”

Claude opened their mouth, then closed it again, unsure how to respond. Nat grinned at them.

“It’s been hours.”

“Yep.”

“And I know I wanted to give them space, but it’s been hours.”

“It sure has.”

“I’m starting to get worried.”

“Mhm.”

“Do you think they’re okay?”

“I do.”

“Should I go after them?” A shrug. “I feel like I should, but what if they’ve been gone for so long because of me and going after them just makes the problem worse? Did I upset them that much?”

“Serenity.” Claire closed starry book. “This is the fifth time we’ve been over this. Yes, Claude seemed upset when they left, and maybe you did really upset them, but you’re very sorry and it’s not like this is going to be the end of you two.

“They’ve been gone for a while, and yes, it’s a little worrying, but they’re a big kid and can handle themself, and if they’re not back by tomorrow we can go look for them.” Sta made intense eye contact with Serenity. “Got it?”

Serenity sighed. “Got it. Thanks, Claire.”

“No problem.” Claire opened starry book again. “If you come back again, try to wait at least an hour, please.”

Serenity grinned. “Sure.” She saluted star and opened the door to leave, tacking on, “No promises!” and closing the door on Claire rolling starry eyes.

The click of the door closing echoed slightly, and Serenity looked around to see Claude shutting the front door.

“Claude!” Serenity cried, running into them in a hug.

“Hey, Ser,” Claude laughed. “Miss me?”

“Yes,” Serenity complained, hugging them tighter. “And I think I said something that upset you earlier but I’m not entirely sure what it was — I mean, I think I know, but I don’t want to assume — and whatever it is, I’m really, really sorry I upset you, and—” 

“Hey,” Claude cut in gently, squeezing her. “Let’s not do this right in front of the front door. Don’t want people eavesdropping on us, yeah?” Their voice, while lighthearted in tone, sounded tired.

Serenity nodded, squeezing them tight for another few seconds before breaking the hug. She held out her hand, and Claude accepted it, offering her a smile. She returned it and pulled them upstairs into her room.

“Okay,” she said, sitting on the edge of her bed and hugging a pillow to her chest. “Let me go first, and if I’m wrong you can correct me.”

Claude nodded, sitting beside her, and they both turned to face one another.

Serenity took a deep breath, clutching the pillow tighter. “I think Luke being my soulmate bothers you more than you really let on, and I’m sorry I made light of it earlier. I value you so much, and you’re my best friend, and being soulmates with you sounds delightful. I’m sorry I didn’t make sure you knew that.”

Claude made a soft noise and drew her into a hug.

“Yeah,” they agreed, a little wetly. “I— yeah. I love you too.”

“Yeah,” Serenity echoed, curling against them.

(“So why were you gone for so long, then?”

“I made a new friend!”

“No way.”

“Nir name is Nat and ne ran into me and then insulted me.”

“No way.”

“I chased nym until ne ran into someone else and ne insisted on being friends.”

“Shut up, that can’t be how it happened.”

“It is!”

“What’s the catch, then?”

“Uhhh… ne wanted to be the one to answer when people ask how we became friends? Otherwise, I don’t—”

“And you betrayed nym? Introduce us, I need to tell nym so ne can friend-dump you.”

“Oh, I already tried that!”

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team appreciation post ✨

A few days ago I was suggested by @keakruiser to write a fic in which Mario and Luigi were in a cold environment (working on it! Almost done, promise!). This gave me a chance to rescue an idea I had a looooong time ago, back when I first played Dream Team (around 2015), but I never got to write it.

So, I've been watching some gameplays of this game and listening to its music again (so as to get in the mood), and man, I had simply forgotten how truly and absolutely ADORABLE the brothers are in this game.

I mean, the cuties????? The way they hug as if they hadn't seen each other in, like, years??? Patting each other's back and nodding and smiling in complete joy AW they're the sweetest!!! 😭😭😭

The fact that Luigi starts laughing in the real world while his dreamy self embraces his big bro will always make me emotional.

THE SILLIEEEEES AAAAHHH LOOK AT THEM BEING TWO CUTE LITTLE BEANS OMG I LOVE THEM SO SO MUCH 😭😭😭

I have always LOVED the way Luigi rocks his legs while he's on Mario's shoulders right before they do the Side Drill move. He's such a cute little baby 🥺💚✨

Also, I find their pose right before starting a Luiginary Attack quite hilarious 😂

The Luiginary Moves and the Giant Battles. Is there really anything else to say? Only one: these two elements were the final proof that this game's true hero was Luigi. He had the chance to show his courage and protect his big bro from danger, as well as being the one who made it possible for him and Mario to get into the dream world.

He was the main character in this game. And it really made me love him even more than I already did.

Not meaning to belittle Mario, far from it! But this game really made his little brother shine, and he definitely seemed giddy about it! Just look at him on top of the Luiginary Typhoon or Giant Luigi's hat. He's the true picture of pride! 🥹

I just LOVE his determination on the latter picture. It just shows that he truly believes in Luigi's abilities to defeat their enemies on his own! But of course, Mario will always be there to fight by his side, just as Luigi has always been there to have his back. They're a team, after all. The Dream Team.

And last but not least... have you guys seen this???

That. Knowing. LOOK. Aren't they the most adorable brothers to ever exist OMG I love them SO MUCH!!! 😭😭😭

I swear I let out a squeak when I noticed they gave each other that quick look when celebrating in this game. The sweetness in the gesture simply melts my heart 🥹🥹🥹 (Actually, I'm making that last picture my new pfp because I just LOVE how absolutely cute they look.)

first of all s/o to @swifty-fox who came up with a good chunk of these. i've been so focused on poor bucky's mental breakdown that quite honestly a part of the "they get married on paper and say they'll have a wedding...eventually" was me putting off figuring out that lore LOL. but here thee go.

they start planning it after bucky is out of the hospital and doing better. gale brings it up first- and bucky is so 🥺. obviously gale never asked for a divorce but, he still feels a little insecure about things/how much he put him through. so knowing gale *does* still want to marry him good and proper makes him a lil emotional. sweet boy.

they try to surprise each other with engagement rings and end up clashing with each others surprises bahaha. me thinks gale gets bucky a celtic eternity knot ring. bucky gets gale something like this.

big crowds/travel is still a bit of a rough spot for bucky, so it's in wyoming. in my mind they have a hugeee backyard. so cutesie homey backyard wedding it is.

curt is 1000% bucky's best man. that's his best friend and curt (this hasn't really been explored a great deal yet but it will be) quite frankly did about as much for him during his big ol breakdown spiral as gale did.

hmm idk who gale's is. choose your own adventure, its whoever you want it to be.

wearing their air force dress uniforms comes up briefly but bucky hates it so it’s tabled. gale asks the guys not to wear theirs either.

all the guys come into town, of course they do. they're *so excited* not just because it's their buddies getting married but bc this is the first time all of them except for curt and kenny have seen bucky in person since his attempt. so seeing him so happy and doing better makes them happy.

demarco does indeed bring meatball.

i think since they essentially share all the same friends they have a joint pre-party a few days before. maybe the first night everyone is in town. a reunion party of sorts.

i need to do a hc list explaining all the curt/kenny lore as it exists in my head but this is maybeee the first time everyone is seeing the two of them since they aren't (badly) trying to keep that they're involved on the downlow. which everyone gets a kick out of just as much as they do bucky and gale.

both of them cry during their vows.

and, my favorite thing @swifty-fox and iame up with last night:

i know its hinted at in a few of the phone povs about bucky wanting to get sober but in my mind that's closer to when they have josie. so when they get married there is alcohol abound (lol). and gale, because hey it's his fucking wedding after all- partakes this time.

he sees bucky playing with croz's kids in the yard and gets so emotional because he just loves him so much, wants that with him and now they *can* have that together even after everything they've been though.

curt sees this and is like awww, i see that look buck! and sweet drunk gale just starts blabbering about how he's gonna put babies in him- he's gonna figure it out, JSTOR hasn't failed him yet.

to demarco, who is running around with his camera, this is the best moment of his life.

asks gale to run that by him one more time with the camera in his face.

"i said, you see my husband over there?" gale says seriously into the camera, holding himself up on curt with one arm around his waist and gesturing to where bucky is deep in drunk conversation with kenny "'m gonna figure out how to put babies in him. JSTOR hasn't- hasn't failed me yet. gonna figure that shit out and we're gonna have more kids than- than croz n' jean."

Not in my AU she's not! For 2 reasons-

For 1, my AU is built from Mario games and media I personally know/am familiar with. I know a little bit about Mario sunshine and saw a comic where Delfino island was Daisy's vacation island. So I took that info and crafted it into my AU lore! My Daisy's kingdom is populated by Delfino's, and it sits along the coast nearby the Mushroom Kingdom.

The other reason is I only heard of what Sarasaland was like two days ago. I've never played any of the games its from and had no idea it existed. So I didn't add it to my AU and I definitely cant add it now-

But even if I did, I'd have the same problem. Why is Daisy the ruler of these little.. dancing.. skeleton.. guys..?? If she isn't one of them?

I was thinking that she was having trouble putting on her make-up and ribbons.. maybe that was something the Koopalings mom would help her with before she.. well.. :( (Also, I do intend to finish/expand on that comic/idea very soon! :}} )

As for Iggy and Lemmy, they're not twins in my AU! Though they are close, they are very apart in age. I don't know what "older lore" you're talking about.. if you're referring to a game or a show, I have never seen it. :( All the Koopalings personalities and dynamics are just going to be made up/decided by me :)

As for their closeness, what brings them together is their eyes and their love for magic/Kamek.

I had this idea that Iggy was born blind, and Lemmy was born with a lazy eye/cross eyed. Kamek was able to use his magic to restore a fair bit of Iggy's sight and reposition Lemmy's eye. The result is their eyes and faces have unusual colors and patterns.. but they can see! And they are very thankful to Kamek for that.

Also that exposure to magic at such a young age has really drawn them into it.. they're both supposed to be really interested in magic and learning how to use it. Thus their closeness with each other and Kamek!

But it's not like he cared, he was happy to see his members again, so didn't pay much attention to it.

Soon, the 8 members of Skz were all sat in the living room, some on the couchs and some on the floor.

Seungmin was completely unaware of the plan of his fellow members, so he was all comfy with his head resting on Hyunjin's lap, waiting for Changbin and Jisung to finally choose a movie.

Eventually, the second youngest started to feel sleepy due to the comfort of having his head in Hyunnie's lap and the boredom caused by the members fighting over choosing a movie, so he just fell asleep.

He woke up about 10 minutes later, and he woke up in an... Unusual position. He was barefoot, and his arms were lifted up over his head, Hyunjin was sat on his hands, Jeongin was sat on his thighs, Chan and Minho were each one on each side of him, while Jisung and Changbin were each one at each side of him as well, but at his legs, and finally, Felix was at his feet.

"What the hell is going on in here?" Seungmin asked, extremely confused.

"You see, Seungminnie, you really annoyed us today, so we decided you deserve... A small punishment" Chan answered, with a sly grin on his face.

Seungmin realized.

'Oh no... This cann't be happening' was all Seungmin could think at this point.

"G-Guys... We can... Talk about this... P-Please DOHOHON'T" Seungminnie started to laugh hysterically and squirm wild when Jeongin began to squeeze his hips without any warning.

"Oh wow, you weren't exaggerating when you said he was extremely ticklish there" Chan talked to Jeongin, casually, as if Seungmin weren't there.

"Not even I, with the thousands times I've tickled him, had ever seen him laugh so hard before" Minho commented, starting to scribble and squeeze one of the oldest vocalracha member's sides. The other members also started to tickle each one the spot they were at. Needless to say the second youngest was going literally insane.

"HAHAHAHHAHAHA GUYS- NOHOHOHOHOHOHO. I'M SOHOHOHOHORRY OKAHAHAHAHAY?! IHIHIHHIHI'LL TRY TO NOHOHOHOHOHOHOT DO IT AGAHHAHAHAHAIN! PLEASE PLEHEHEHEHEASE STOP!"

"You'll try you say? Hmmm... Sorry Seungminnie, I don't think that's enough" Han teased, scribbling behind Minnie's knees.

"AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA WHYHYHYHY YOU DOHOHOHOHO THIS TO MEHEHEHEHHEHEHE? I KNOHOHOW I WAS ANNOYING, BUHUHUHUT YOU NEVER TOHOHOHOLD ME TO STOHOHHOP BEIHHIHIHING LIKE THAHAHAHAT!"

"It should've been evident Seungminnie! You knew you were being annoying, you should've stopped then~" Lix was tickling all over his member's feet and toes, he knew how to tickle the younger right in there.

"HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M SOHOHOHOHORRY OKAY? I ALREADY APOLOGIHIHIHIHIZED! CAN YOU STOHOHOHOHOP?"

"I don't think we can, this is too much fun!" Hyunjin left the younger's armpits temporally to tickle his ribs and neck, making sure to be gentle, knowing that is way worse for the puppy.

"WHAHAHAHHHAT ELSE YOU WANT ME TOHOHOHOHOHO DO???! I'LL DOHOHOHO IT BUT PLEASE STAAHAHHAHHAHAAP!"

"We just wanna keep tickling you, Seungmo! You look too cute like this~" Changbin joined in in the teasing.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA GUHUHUHUHUYS I'M SEHEHEHEHERIOUS! I CAHAHAHHAHAN'T TAKE IT MUCH MOHOHOHOHORE HAHAHAHAAA-" Seungmin's laugh went silent, but that didn't stop the members to continue with their tickling.

"Awwwww, you can't take it? What a shame~"

The members kept on tickling the puppy for a couple seconds more, maybe a minute.

Seungmin felt all weak, he couldn't even squirm anymore and was overwhelmed by all the tickles. The world was starting to go silent and Seungmin could've swore he was about to faint.

Fortunately, Chan noticed soon enough, so the 7 guys immediately stopped with the tickling. They accommodated the second youngest again, they put his head back to rest on Hyunjin's lap, and they all surrounded him to give him some aftercare.

"We're so sorry, Seungminnie. I think we went a bit too far" Lixie apologized while hugging his member and stroking his hair a bit.

Seungmin shook his head "I know I deserved that, it's alright"

"We can still use the movie excuse and really watch a movie now" Chan suggested and all the members agred.

"Just don't take too long choosing it or I'll fall asleep again" The puppy joked.

Skz finally was able to choose a movie, but in the first minute of it, Seungminnie was already sleeping.

Come on, you can't blame him. Our guy got tortured, he deserves a good rest.

The rest of Skz just limited to watch the movie and every once a while, they glanced at Seungmin sleeping.

He looked so cute... Maybe they should do this again...

Something I noticed about the music in the most adorable scene from the Mario Movie 🥹❤️💚✨

Yesterday I shared a post on my instagram account (san.marioluigifan) on something I noticed a while ago about the music that plays in the most adorable scene, and also one of my favorites, from the Mario Movie 🤭👀

I'm obviously referring to this scene 👇🥹❤️💚✨

Have you noticed the music that plays while Mario and Luigi hug? 🥹 We can hear the main theme of the movie, but it mixes with the Level Complete theme from Super Mario Bros. You can check it here! The main theme starts at minute 3.14, but then at 3.20, Level Complete from the NES game starts playing and it mixes perfectly well with the first one.

And it makes perfect sense! 🤩👏🏻 After all, everything Mario wants most for much of the movie plot is to be reunited with Luigi, and, since in this scene he's just rescued him and they're finally back together, we could say that Mario has, in a sense, completed the level 🤭🥹

I adore this scene with all my heart 🥹 From the first time I saw it in the cinema it reached deep inside, and every time I watch it again, I'm moved to tears - it's so beautiful and adorable and touching! 😭 It perfectly shows the strong and solid bond that exists between the siblings, filled with love and adoration, and I can’t help but melt every time I watch it 🥹❤️💚

I mean, look at their faces when Mario catches Luigi in mid-air and they see each other after days apart – they’re the picture of joy! 🥺😭 Luigi's smile couldn't be wider, I think it's the time he smiles the most in the whole movie, and Mario is so relieved to be reunited with his beloved little brother at last! 😭

In fact, he’s so happy that he can’t hug Luigi just once: notice how he joins his forehead to Luigi's in order to reassure him and make sure he’s safe and sound, notice how strongly and eagerly Mario hugs him a second time, notice how he lifts him up in the air out of sheer emotion! 😭 And his happy face when he finally puts Luigi on the ground 🥹 And Luigi's sigh of relief after understanding that he’s not dreaming and that his brother has really saved him and is back with him, AW 🥹💚❤️

This scene just makes my heart so warm! 😭💖 And when I realized that the Level Complete theme was playing, I was like, "This just makes this scene even more perfect than it already is! 👏🏻" I love it so much! 🥹💖

Had you guys noticed this? Are you as moved as I am by the embrace of these adorable brothers? 🤭🥹 I wish I could pull them off the screen to give them a big hug myself, I adore them way too much 🥹❤️💚✨

Time for some nonsense (I miss the slice of life days and I have too much time on my hands)

Daniel: he's just happy to be here. We've already seen him at Notte World. Another school trip? With friends? Cute animals? Fun memories? SO EXCITED !!!!

Jay: whereever Daniel goes, he goes. Any part of the zoo is his fave when he gets to look around with Daniel. Makes the group take a lot of pics of both of them for the memories. Considering hiring out the zoo so him and Daniel can go alone another time

Zoe: also tags along with Daniel and Jay but feels like a third wheel. If only little Daniel was here... Daydreaming about being with little Daniel then getting angry and flustered with herself

Joy: competing with her bro for Daniel's attention. Tries to wander off with just him on their own but no chance with Jay and Zoe around

Crystal: gives some structure to the Daniel harem. She's excited to look around, and actually gives the group some direction on where to go

Mira: loves any cute animals. Not a fan of reptiles, creepy crawlies or amphibians and stays clear. Fluffy? Yes they're for her. Definitely not interested in feeding time!

Zack: who cares about the zoo as long as Mira is here. Trails after her and treats this as another 'date' (even if they hang around in a group most of the time). Tries to get Mira to walk through the bat cave hoping that she'll cling to him lol

Vasco: Any and all parts of the zoo is his fave! Bears YEP. Tigers YEP. Some random birds YEP. Wait holD ON KANGAROOS!?!?OMG JACE LETS CLIMB IN THE ENCLOS-

Jace: he's happy Vasco is happy, but honestly a bit of a headache keeping him safe. Gets dragged along by Vasco to get his face painted. Loves elephants. Intelligent, herd animals with big ears 🥰

Eli: misses Yenna, would much rather spend time at the Zoo with his little baby. Already planning a trip out with her to see all the animals soon

Vin Jin: glasses too dark, no idea what he's looking at

Mary: Vin's reluctant guide. She wants to look around everywhere but that idiot has tinted his glasses AGAIN. God she really can't take him anywhere. Has a soft spot for elephants

Johan: this poor little guy. He likes seeking out animals with a social structure that looks after each other (he just so lonely and misses his momma). Elephants, orangutans, chimps. Watching otters hold hands makes him sad 🥺 Misses Miro and Eden. Gives them extra snuggles and treats

Big Deal: ok first why are they at the zoo, second how can they afford it, third this is my headcannon so Sammy is included

Sinu: wandering around like Vasco 2.0. He doesn't remember ever feeling like a kid or not worrying about Big Deal, so this is a big day for him. Cries on Jake at the end of the day

Jake: happy to be wandering around without having too many worries for the day. That's for tomorrow Jake to worry about. Finally gets to spend some time with Sinu and Big Deal just like the old days. Teaches Jerry about the different animals and reads the signs and placards with him

Samuel: kicked out for smoking

Gun: doesn't care for the zoo. Full on safari or nothing. Wants to see them out in the wild and survival of the fittest. Ideally wants to see an apex predator hunt for their prey

Goo: same as Gun but loves killer whales. Insanely strong and sadistic, wonder why he likes them... Otherwise he likes dragging Gun to the camels and trying to get him spat on

my long awaited KOMALINK TRUTHER ESSAY!!

To start, I adore the parallels between these two... they're both coming of age in their respective cultures! and having a rough time of it, it seems..

They're both very close with their grandmas, though sadly Komali's has passed away... they both have sisters, too!! (or, for Komali, a sister figure. Medli acts very maternal and caring towards him throughout the game, even commenting on watching him grow up saying something to the effect of, "he's grown into a fine young rito, is this how a mother feels?")

Between the coming of age stories, the alive and deceased grandmas, the little and big sisters... they both mirror each other perfectly!!

Of course Komali is going through some major anxiety issues, understandably. link is able to help him through it, which is very sweet to see :)

Before and after finishing dragon roost cavern. I just love the insight this NPC gives us! after Link inspires the confidence in him, he gets so happy!!

At first it's easy to see it as him just simply looking up to link, and I'm sure it started that way, but it starts leaning into crush territory...!

.. EVERY conversation?!?!

Komali's name comes from "hikikomori" in Japanese, which refers to severe social reclusiveness. he seems to be a very sheltered boy who wouldn't have very many friends off island... so who could he be talking about hmm ??? who's the one guy we know he likes off island...? who he wont shut up about....????

There's also this dialogue from a random Rito NPC (sadly I don't have the game caps, but here's it from a text dump):

(If it's too hard to read, it says:

"We used to have such nice breezes blowing through here... Now the air is crazy. I'm positive the strange winds are a result of the wind god's anger. See, there's an important shrine below here that got broken...and now we're paying the price. What cursed luck...

We Rito cannot live without the wind. Before we take to the skies, we always go down and visit the wind god's shrine. That's the way it's always been.")

The Rito and the wind are intertwined... very fitting that the prince would fall for someone who could control it 🥺

And Yes !! LOZ has a pattern of having the Zora princesses fall in love with link...

Since the Zora evolved into the Rito in WW, they decided to mix it up and make it the prince!

We're at the point of this post where I'm out of Ship 'Evidence' and I'm now just throwing images from my files at you. I love this one at the end of the game where Komali is the first one to greet them coming back from what was left of Hyrule (also very exciting for baby me, who was a huge Komali fan)

Link just stares at him...

I also adore how this is the only ship I know where you get TWO!! Height differences. Hard to get a pic of them standing next to each other pre-Valoo scale, but you get the idea

Of course we don't fully know how Link feels about him, but I like to think he was a bit annoyed with him at first (as Komali was with him)... Like why couldn't this guy just suck it up and do what had to be done? It's what Link had to do for his family. But he realized Komali had gone through a huge loss, and his Dad was a little absent. He has this huge sense of duty placed over him, and not much support. Then once he got his confidence back, he was able to really shine! Link could see that!

I feel like I might be missing something, but that's the gist of why I love them so much! Foils that grow to deeply appreciate each other :) cute little themes like royalty falling for Link & the Rito's ties to the wind. they make me so happy. they don't get the attention they deserve tbh
