Notes:
I think I definitely like the original versions more than the edited ones. I'm more happy with the grumpy Fernando one, whereas the bratty Seb one made me want to cease painting forever. So hopefully he looks good?????? I'm sure I'll soften on it, but yeah, not TOO pleased with it right now. His facial expressions are so cute and dynamic and unique until you have to try and paint it and then you dont love him anymore(kidding ofc, how could I ever hate my beloved boy king 🥺)
Anyways, these are them:

In honor of the @rw-ship-showdown I wanted to write about Artihunter as someone who jokingly slapped them together pre-downpour and still thinks they are actually very compelling. Just not in the super soft love wins kinda way (Although I get why people like that more) And the only way I know how to do that is talking too much so heres a far too long slug essay-
Obviously the slugcats don't offer a ton of characterization but theres not nothing to work with. Their stories, whether by their roles in it or the overarching themes do provide a backbone to work with. Even gameplay itself can provide a bit. (for some more than others) Hunter, to me, is ultimately a story about selflessness. The goal is to revive Moon, which is very much an act of kindness from both Hunter and NSH. But the weight of that action is much more significant for Hunter- Hunter is deeply sick. They're on the clock, and for all their skill in combat none of that will ultimately help them to survive longer than their body can hold out. Moon is a close friend of NSH but that means little Hunter- Hunter really gets next to nothing out of helping them, and ultimately pays quiet a bit spending their limited time alive fighting to deliver that neuron so that someone else can live.
To spend ones limited days on helping another, in a game that very much stresses the unwavering cruelty of the world and nature- is pretty notable. (And you could even say that Hunter being the Hardmode of Rain World adds another layer to this)
And then we have Artificer. A storyline that very much stands out to people as more… villainous (so to speak) than the other slugcats. Artificer's story covers a lot of things. Trauma, violence, revenge, etc. Revenge is a bit of a selfish desire- That need to see someone hurt as they have hurt you. A punishment that ultimately does not fix whatever harm was done- but feels good to see because you were hurt and now those responsible share that pain.
Artificer's actions are founded in that need for revenge, their pups killed for overstepping boundaries they didn't know existed. Is it not fair for them to be angry at that, to punish the scavengers for their violence with their own? Why should the scavengers ever be forgiven when they and their pups were not? And that's how you get that loop- Harm for harm over and over.
The original action has been lost in a spiral of violence for violence. And here stands Artificer- their very spirit scarred. Not just because they sought revenge, but because they never ceased trying to scratch that itch for violence as an answer. Artificer only has two paths for their story- killing the scavenger king (Someone who, really, has little to do with the original 'crime' of the scavengers, but represents an important individual to them- as did the slugpups to Artificer), locking themselves as karma one for good and spending the rest of their life chasing creatures that no longer even fight back in a warped sense of closure- or to dissolve themselves in the acids of the void sea because they're too far gone to find any real peace.
They can't meaningfully recover from that state, not alone, twisting in on themselves. Even if they halt their actions, they've been using violence as a feeble defense against their own pain- violence that no longer has any real direction or basis. Artificer gets no real closure from killing the scavenger king. All they can do is continue the cycle, or try to scrub it away. No real peace in a prison of their own making. So you have a creature, who even with a strict timer on their life- a body that will crumble to disease, spends its last bit of time on saving another. And another who was so caught up in the pain of loss that were eaten alive by their own anger, poisoned their own soul on such a deep level even self-proclaimed gods have no solution for them. What peace can they offer each other? For Hunter, its only a fleeting moment of happiness- of selfish love, before their own body fails them. A bit of indulgence in something for themself. For Artificer, its a single, comforting thread to ground them again, something tangible to protect and care about again. But thats a thread that will ultimately be snapped under the cruel indifference of the world. Hunters timer will tick down regardless of if it takes another with it. Its a tragedy- its doomed to end badly. Whatever good it offers to either of them to find each other will only provide the fleeting comfort of a band-aid that will be ripped away too early. But all that can be worth indulging in anyway, if only for the moment. It doesn't change the ending, but the ending was never going to be happy. Its can so yuri

UNDERTALE YELLOW MERCILESS ROUTE SPOILERS
ive seen a couple people here and there be upset over how the route ends, but i want to give my two cents on why i actually really like it
(btw this is not at all me saying people HAVE to enjoy it, or arent allowed to dislike it, just sharing my own take on it)
if youve clicked the read more im going to assume youve played through the merciless route and seen its ending, or dont care about spoilers for it
otherwise what the heck are you doing here
but basically, what ive seen people get upset over a lot, is the fact that clover kills asgore and flowey instantly, takes the human souls, and then just waltzes out of the underground and beyond the players reach (which is my personal take on why resetting goes back to floweys control, and clover forgetting, instead of to when clover unlocks the save ability, is its not clover or flowey resetting, but us. the player IS a distinctly separate entity in ut/dr after all)
but honestly?? what else COULD have happened?? asgore couldnt handle frisk at level ONE. he didnt stand even a FRACTION of a chance against an lv 20 clover, who might i add, has a giant laser beam, a degree of soul magic not even frisk obtains. you COULD argue chara uses soul magic to "kill" our save file at the end of undertales merciless route though, i could see that, but still, clovers laser is a much more direct and obvious show of it. (and just to be safe, before anyone tries to say humans dont have magic, no, thats literally the entire premise of the setting is humans used magic to create the barrier, its just less present in humans than it is in monsters, who are made of the stuff)
and undertale yellows merciless route goes the route of deciding that undertales version already said everything there is to say on the meta aspects and the whole "you can so you need to" mindset, so instead it just calls it what it is: its a power trip. its mindless slaughter for the sake of getting stronger, whether its the player demanding a different ending (like deltarunes coldhearted route(im not calling it snowgrave, but this is entirely personal preference)), or again just wanting to see whatll happen. but either way its to feel strong.
and what happens at the end of that power trip? youve reached level 20. youve surpassed floweys control. you have as much power as you could ever hope to achieve. so, realistically:
whats stopping you from just killing asgore and leaving.
nothing. so you do.
and it leaves you wondering: was the power trip worth it. was the pain and suffering you caused worth it to get such a blatantly, not just non-canon, but ANTI-CANON ending? (EDIT: and i mean this in a positive way, its the same kind of self-reflection over your actions that undertale pulls, just communicated in a more indirect way)
and it being so anti-canon is part of why its such a haunting ending for me.
there really wasnt any other possible way for it to end. lv 20 itself and the way undertale and deltarune characterize that increase in power, in retrospect it feels obvious that it would be anti-canon in a prequel. monster souls are weaker than human souls, even at lv 1. so against a human whos lv 20, and who got there by constantly persisting and trying over and over to get past whatever obstacle is in front of them, and refuses to give up on their conquest, theres nothing anyone can do, and that alone rips the canon of undertale into shreds.
even SANS realizes theres nothing that can actually stop you, not even him, so the best he can hope for is that he puts up enough of a fight to make the player give up and/or reset, same reason his final attack is a turn that never ends.
and having to face that by helplessly watching clover blast an asgore-shaped hole in the story is TERRIFYING to me, in a way i really love the yellow team for doing. idk if its actually intentional or if im reading too much into it, but either way,

(tw for r*cism, p*dophilia, tr*nsphobia, and SA)
truly i am not saying this simply for the sake of being mean or a snob but i wish mp100 fans would think more about the type of people they choose to make popular in our community. as a fic reader and writer i've seen all kinds of shit that people come up with and i'm not picky with what i enjoy but you know what i find to be completely baffling? the fact that only a handful of people seem to be willing to be critical of an author who (and i'm not putting this under a read more because you guys need to see how fucking long this is and let it sink in):
wrote touichirou to be even worse than he already is in canon. we're talking about being pro-eugenics, being racist towards serizawa (who is portrayed as blasian), and condoning child impregnation (don't even try to come at me with the whole "well duh he's the villain so what's the problem?!" because let me ask you: why would any of the above be necessary to show that touichirou is a villain? all of this is ultimately unimportant to the fic in question as a whole and imo they're not handled with the necessary care that should entail. something being dark and gritty =/= being better; i thought we've evolved past this mindset). excuse me for disregarding mp100's themes of "it's never too late to change" for a second here, but shit like this makes it extra difficult to buy into his character development post-wd arc. most recently, the author has revealed herself to hc him as having had a white south african mother from whom he learned "his kind of eugenics mindset. outright headcanoning a character to be racist huh? white.
is racist towards serizawa in general actually. the narration is constantly making weird comments about his hair before he starts working at s&s. you see people like REIGEN saying he looks sloppy, and it's never called out.
wrote a graphic sequence where reigen gives birth in a taxi while ritsu watches and helps deliver it. again, it's a completely unnecessary scene and adds nothing to the overall narrative, and it can be very uncomfortable for those faint of heart. also theres a gratuitous r/trei joke thrown in there for good measure.
has very questionable trans rep, according to the trans people i've spoken to. serizawa is implied to have a trans fetish, shimazaki is portrayed as a trans woman chaser (you know for the funnies), and allusions to reigen's transness are mostly through explicit imagery.
is really weird about the kids????? shou is characterized as someone who's constantly making dirty and frankly unsettling comments towards others even when he isn't being aged up, even though that's not a trait he has in canon. he and the others are constantly dancing right up to this really uncomfortable line that stops just short of full-blown gross shit.
WROTE A FIC WHERE REIGEN ASSAULTS SERIZAWA. do you hear me? she wrote a fucking fic where serizawa wakes up to reigen trying to get it on with him. that is assault. this author will tell you that it isn't assault because they're in an established relationship but listen to me: That. Is. Assault.
doesn't tag any of the shit i just mentioned! she doesn't alert her audience to any of these things before she draws in her audience because she's more worried about "spoilers" than actually protecting people. one time someone asked her to tag the fic i mentioned in the bullet point directly above as SA due to being triggered but she refused because they were the only person to have a problem with it (allegedly), and also because they were "rude." wtf. basic fucking decency shouldn't hinge on how polite or rude someone is being, but she has such a huge victim complex despite being 39 years old and too old for this shit that she doesn't even realize it.
again i am not trying to put myself on a soapbox and say that i'm inherently better than anyone but i really am so disappointed in you people. for the most part i find that this fandom is a lot more well put together than a lot of those hellholes out there (save for the standard fuckery that all fandoms are guilty of obviously) but seeing talented artists that i otherwise respect and have nothing against choose to put this person on a pedestal and by extension enable this sort of thing to continue is so disheartening. i'm not trying to attack anyone or accuse them of consciously condoning this content, but please think for a bit before you uncritically recommend it to others just because it has your favorite ship in it or because you enjoy darker and more mature themes.

i watched tristam only & haven't seen manga/OG anime (yet) and like.... i think even /i/ can see that tristam isn't super great of an adaption ? i might just be using this as an excuse to complain... i feel like vash's characterization was kind of sporadic..? like the pilot ep he seems goofy and full of personality, but for the rest of the season, it's kind of ... never touched on again ?? after watching, i could recall his personality less than the plot... i dunno! i haven't been giving this a Lot of thought, & this is more of a feeling rather than a solidified opinion
oh vash's character was 100% sporadic and i also have problems recalling his personality over plot.
as someone who just recently consumed everything but the movie (which i still have to track down), tristam is a terrible adaption not just from a point of view of a fan of trigun but also just from a storytelling point?
like i said before they dont bother setting everything up and rely on you filling in gaps with knowledge of the previous trigun content. while the manga had some pretty terrible pacing at times, it did have the necessary "filler" to give some meaning to vash the stampede and his outlaw reputation, his amazing gun skills, and his pacifist nature. and the anime does a perfect job actually making that filler make sense and it adds so much to the story and gives the audience time to get attached to all the characters.
when the anime and manga introduce vash, they immediately set the viewer up with vash's common reputation and his insane bounty and then disprove that reputation time and time again, yet still showing how vash could have gotten that reputation. but then theres also the fact that everyone and their mother knows vash fucking leveled a city and that contradicts the vash theyve been showing and the man vash proves himself to be. he cries whenever anyone tries to kill anyone else, he strips down naked and pretends to be a dog to stop a guy from killing a girl even though it has a pretty low chance of actually convincing the guy not to, he beats himself up when someone does end up dying even after he saves so many lives.
and so youre like surely the whole city leveling was also something blown out of proportion, surely he was fighting someone else or something but no. HE REALLY DID NUKE A CITY.
and stampede has NONE of this, idk how they got away with it? and since theres no setting things up, all of his "ooo fancy gun skills" actually strike me as something very average cause we've only seen like three guys top actually shoot a gun and most of them were inhumanly strong characters.
theres also no oomph to the scenes besides pretty animation. vash feels incredibly flat, meryl's backstory doesn't make any sense, there was no attempt to attach us to roberto, and the changes made to vash and knives power takes away from the story?
idk theres just a lot wrong with tristamp, i highly recommend going on youtube and watching the anime. im hoping what im linking right now is the english dub, but just watch this scene where vash sings

I’m gonna mention a few fics by name that have me hooked (some of them I’m pretty sure that have been discontinued but if there’s no note from the author then I’ll keep waiting 🤞)
1. On the edge of seventeen by Scratchienails (obviously) [ao3]
When I saw that the third chapter came out I went so feral I couldn’t read it for a full 45 minutes. That’s all I’m gonna say, I have three other full posts dedicated to this fic
By the same author theres also “But the sea changes colours” it’s based around the same idea that Roger never died but Roger and Shanks steal baby Luffy from Garp and Dragon (it’s very funny but I think it’s been discontinued)
2. A boy with a scar by Syluk [ao3]
It’s a fic about Luffy having been taken as a slave when he was a child and how this affects the story. It has 33 chapters and counting and IT IS SO GOOD AA. Really love when authors take into account all the consequences the changes of the au would have in canon, I mean, like characters that haven’t met the main crew yet still doing things off frame. And the characterization is on point, I love that
3. Blackout / How to catch a Shikari / Brothers under the moon by rikuai12 [ao3/fanfiction]
THIS AUTHOR RAAAAA
Tumblr media
That’s all I’ll say
4. Maybe this is home by Lilian_lav [ao3]
At first I was kind of hesitant bc Luffy was kind of out of character and everyone hated him, but as the chapters went on the little cryptid fuck grew on me and so did on the other characters. It has 24 chapters and counting and it’s really fun how asl interact with the heart pirates (though I’m kind of only interested in luffy but that’s just bc I’m hyperfixating)
5. Beyond blood by Justcallmecookie [fanfiction]
This one has permanently marked me and I will never forget about it. It’s about Luffy running away from the government and trying to find Ace after they find out he is Dragon’s son and call on a buster call on Dawn island. Sadly it’s been discontinued but it’s still a really good plot, story and writing overall
Though there is this fic (Blood is thicker then water by ImHyperfixatingdontBotherMe [ao3]) that is inspired by this one and kind of taking their own spin on it. It’s still ongoing and I do recommend it even though it doesn’t have the same vive as the original
6. Colour the ocean red (to prove my love to you) by Epiphany_Of_SummerSunsets [ao3]
It’s super cute with mer teen Shanks and little Luffy, I love their interactions and with there were more fics about them. I also like the mystery with the murders going around and the fact that they made Rouge Garps daughter. Really in love with the whole Monkey D. Gol D. family with asl + Buggy
7. Luffy is Lost in The MHA/BNHA world, but he gets taken in by the Yaoyorozu's and attends school by AndreiStrambeanu [ao3]
…listen, hear me out..
Okay the title is pretty self explanatory and it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I was bored and it was entertaining. The writing is kinda ass sometimes and there are a lot of plotholes (of which the author is concious about and doesn’t give any fucks) but it IS the author’s first fic (at least published on ao3) so I’ll give them the pass. It is meant to entertain not be a magnum opus, and it does it’s purpose. It is also still ongoing so I’ll take whatever I can
8. Almost giving up before we’ve even started by Leohanan [ao3]
THIS ONE OMG 💞💞
Incredible piece of literature, I loved every second of it. Rouge adopting asl is the best plot and idea ever and I love it. AND ITS COMPLETE 10/10 would read again
8. Tempus Edax Rerum (I think that’s how it’s spelled) by appl_juice [ao3]
Really cute with little Shanks time traveling and ending up with the strawhats, it only has 4 chapters and unfortunately I think it has been discontinued but it had a really good plot and didn’t feel ooc which adds extra points
9. Oden’s eldest by Alexiledit [ao3]
I’ll be careful with this one cause I know the author is on tumblr
I really like it, but not for the fic itself unfortunately, but for the posts about it they have on their tumblr (which expand much more on the au). The fic has one chapter and I think it’s been discontinued, the writing isn’t magnificent but I like the plot. I’ve actually made several pieces of fanart bc this au stuck to my brain and refused to let go for some time. I have a bad habit of taking characters I love and putting them in already existent family dynamics with characters that have nothing to do with them, so I see why I loved this au so much
There are others like Old truths by GreaterAwareness [ao3] Flashy brotherhood by Airuna [ao3] and Tomorrow before yesterday beguins by Staryty [ao3] (this one I’m still halfway though) which have amazing plots and writing but I got kind of bored (I think bc they focused more on Ace or other characters other than Luffy and I exclusively read Luffy centric fics) but they are amazing anyway and should still be acknowledged like the rest.
This is not a tier list, I’m not ranking them in any order whatsoever. I just like ranting

ill clarify and expand on why being pissy at ppl for "mischaracterizing" your faves irritates me so damn much
for starters, there are SO many characters i adore who i vehemently disagree with the way majority fandom characterizes them. like genuinely just hate it. theres even people who characterize my faves in a way that makes me not want to interact with them at all.
i will gripe about it! ill grump about how much i dont agree with it and why.
but to go to any single one of these ppl in that fandom and go "actually the way youre characterizing them is wrong and displeases me so clearly you dont actually like this character" is some of most entitled fuckwit behavior i have ever seen. holy fuck.
furthermore
what counts as "mischaracterization" will always be an extremely fuzzy line, for many reasons
-when you consume a piece of media, you are not seeing every single facet of chosen character. you literally cannot. there is not enough time in any media in the world to sit you down and show you every last facet of that characters personality. and people who have very similar facets to their personalities can have other ones that are Drastically different from eachother. you are interpreting a character in different ways. that is fucking normal.
-you do not get to decide whose characterization is "more correct". unless the goddamn creator of the media in question pulls you aside and says "you, specifically, and only you are characterizing this character correctly, and i totally intended for there to be one single way for this character to be interpreted and no variance or fluidity at all. congratulations you Won At Character"
-irl people do not act perfectly "in character" 100% of the time. people will do and say and think things they normally wouldn't a lot. because we are a mech suit being piloted by electric meat jelly. and the meat jelly is weird, and likes to do its own random things sometimes.
-what is the point of getting mad at ppl for being different than you in characterizing a character when you can sit there and think "hmn, i wonder Why they see the character that way" and then use that to add even more depth and nuance to how you see that character
-so many of yall whine that ppl arent being creative enough in fandom and then you turn around and get mad at ppl for doing fandom "wrong". you literally cannot have both. unless someone is being a huge fucking twat*, there is no reason to decide that the way they fandom is too weird and wrong.
-imagine being so bad at so many things that the only thing you can stroke your ego with is being The Best at Being Fan Of Character. that is genuinely sad.
*you Know what i mean. attacking others, being a bigot, responding to criticism of bad behavior by throwing a tantrum, etc

so what happens in the eaglnheart and gerad run. Also what's the gerad halcarol dynamic
hiiii lolipop, havent seen u in my askbox in a bit!! welcome back ^_^ going to put this under a cut bc it got kind of long and also i decided to add panels so it got even longer teehee
englehart's run is abysmal because he wrote a lot of his own problems issues into the story (its very oversexualized) and he's the one that introduced that gross fucking arisia plotline may he rot in hell for that.
Gerards run has hal as like the precursor to geoff's hal, where he's very. he's written to be the leader type where he hates taking orders from people and he wants to do his own thing and shit which is fine, but like hal is notoriously a yes-man. i love him to bits but he would fall for an mlm scam. theres textual evidence even
Tumblr media
so, since that underlying yes-man tendency isn't addressed his character "growth" into a leader type role feels very hollow and forced.
he's also written as a stereotypical man's man, where he's you know what i think he's just the writers self insert probably. like they keep bringing up how many chicks he pulls and how he's great with women and then he keeps being misogynistic and its like hold on. where did the hal that got mad at carol's dad for being a capital m misogynist go. that's not hal.
Tumblr media
I think that gerad's run has some great plot ideas, like with mosaic and entropy, but the writing doesn't hold up and his hal characterization is shit. also they keep using that nickname for tom and it makes me mad
the gerard halcarol dynamic strips carol of all her agency as a cold motherfucker. i love carol for who she is; a ruthless bitch! and the carol in gerards run is very. hold on let me find the panel that made me mad.
Tumblr media
this is so. carol would never say this shit with a straight face. i can really only see carol saying this in a mean way like if she was actively trying to put hal down. carol is ruthless and capable and wayyyy more of a leader than hal is. i realize i keep saying that carol is mean but i mean this in like the best way possible she IS mean it's part of her character and it's part of what allows her to be such a successful businesswoman. she is cold and bitter and she uses that as a self-defense mechanism she is not the type of person to get sad and angsty about sitting around waiting to see if hal is okay Gerard.
i want to talk about the halcarol dynamic while im here. hal and carol work best as best friends. they are deeply deeply important to each other and i think their romantic relationship is important to both of their character growths but part of that growth is them breaking up and staying just friends.
i think that hal and carol see something in each other that they both desperately want to have for themselves. for carol i think she wants the freedom that hal has to just fuck off into the sunset and have adventures without the pressures that come from her dad and from running ferris. for hal, well. 🏳️‍⚧️. i think that hal truly does love carol but he's also in love with the idea of carol, the strong and collected buissness woman.
I think that hal and carol's relationship is them trying to fill that void inside of themselves. but their romantic relationship is doomed to fail because you can't ever truly love your reflection in the mirror.

IDW is Great
Welp its time
A year later and I’ve (mostly) completed the IDW comics
While I’m sure I missed a few spotlights and smaller stories I have read the main story lines
(Except Revolutionaries and Visionaries you couldn’t pay me to read those)
And honestly IDW is without a doubt my favorite TF continuity
Its honestly fantastic and I’m really just combining a bunch of thoughts on the comics that are scattered around throughout my blog
First I wanna start with what is really the reason I got into IDW
The representation
Which is absolutely fantastic
Theres multiple counts of characters being openly trans and gay
We get to actually hear (see?) them say that their trans instead of it being implied
Theres a large collection of different pairing
We get to see slow burn relationships, already established relationships, background relationships
And theres not just a one off character as quite a few characters are shown in relationships (I mean technically speaking all cybertronians are inherently gay because of how gender work on their plant BUT STILL)
Alongside that the characters in general are just for the most part super fun to be around
Theres tons of characters who get more in depth stories and personality's that are usually lacking in other shows because of limited run times
The best example of this would definitely be Starscream who I absolutely adore because we get to see him change and develop from his old typical “I have defeated Megatron! I am now the leader of the decepticons!!”
We get to see his past traumas and his experiences with body dysphoria even if its just glimpses
And on top of that theres also topics expanded upon or added that aren’t usually talked about as much or topics that are completely new
We get a lot about Titans and cityspeakers, we get stories of combiners and get to see more of how they function, we got topics like cold construction
All in all its just a really fun continuity that got to add and explore so much more because of how long it went on
It has its flaws
(Mainly being that they continued to let John Barber write despite majority of his stuff being shit)
Theres a few instances towards the end of the writers (Mostly John) kinda shooting characters in the foot for no reason
As well as some characters who really didn’t get treated all that well until the end when we barely got to see it
But
The main issue for me was really just how this Optimus was characterized and treated
Majority of the ideological stuff in regards to him felt like there was a group of people arguing who couldn't deiced if they wanted him to be an actual divine being, a regular guy who was just really compassionate and heroic, or a manipulative asshole who abuses his power
And when it came down to it he was the last option
But the comics seemed like they couldn’t decided if they knew or wanted it to be that or not
In the end tho Optimus is absent from a lot of the story
Even with his presence theres plenty of patches even in his own comics that he isn’t there that are fantastic such as when Sideswipe passes away and Arcee and Sunstreaker say goodbye to him
All in all I adore IDW
Even with its flaws its a fantastic continuity with dozens of incredible stories and I wouldn’t let the shitty writing of a single character deter you from reading it
Although if you’re reading this chances are you have also already read it so...idk enjoy me rambling I guess-

hey Bestie!! it took me a minute lmao but here we go!
2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?
Short answer: I try to. Long answer: I try to have an outline where I might jot down ideas in the spaces I think they can go and then I just write and see what happens. That's why I don’t like posting my big fics til theyre done because I add a lot of stuff after the fact.
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
😂😂😂 I know a lot of my ideas are very… out there and wonky. And truly it could be a random thought or a conversation/media– anything and if it snags then I try to think ‘ok [idea] what comes next’ and if its something I get excited about, i have a whole lot of moments where I’m audibly going ‘ooh but what if…’ and then I take up my phone and make a note in a doc. Some ideas get chosen, some don’t.
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
So I’ll answer this in two ways: how many fic ideas do I have written down right that havent been fleshed out or posted: 9
How many of these ideas have more than just ‘idea au?’: 4
One of them is a music teacher au, where Daniel is a private music tutor and he’s supposed to be teaching Max how to play piano/cello (i haven't committed to any yet) and Max spends their tutoring time watching Daniel’s hands/fingers and how he feels the music and jacks off about it
22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)
I currently don’t have any because I’m willing to get out of my comfort zone to try new things (for example my new Dewis fic– terrified of doing a poor Lewis characterization)
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
I think I have to give myself some props on my ideas and being able to actually flesh them out into interesting stories. And my comedy. (and my ability to put angst in everything lmao)
58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)
I do love outlining. And then I procrastinate starting, because I find writing to be all encompassing, like I will ignore life if I’m trying to get an idea out. Editing is the part I like least, but it makes me giddy because that means I’m almost ready to share my idea
70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?
I actually don’t tell people anymore. Because then they think it means I can write anything and that’s just not true. But I used to be embarrassed to tell people  when I wrote Inuyasha fanfiction haha so there are people that know and more than likely have forgotten. I don’t hesitate to tell people i read fic though, so idk
74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?
Oh this is hard because I truly don’t know if theres anything I that I do across fic. If there is, please lemme know!! I’ve managed to shoehorn a twilight (movie) reference in 2 of my big fics tho so that makes me giggle

what are your FAVORITE things to write about steve? he seems very charming
He is so charming 😭 I hope this answers your question! This is like 50% rambling and 50% just speculation.
I mean, first off I just think he's cute...that's at least 90% of my motivation. (I am looking and it is in no way respectful.) But I also just have a soft spot for characters who come across as soft-spoken and serious on the outside but then crack these zingers out of nowhere---either filthy or satirical---and Steve does both, making his internal and external dialogue really fun for me to write. Even more so in contrast to how I like to write Sid: straightforward and always having a lot to say and is ready to say it to whoever is in his direct line of sight (of course this does not count if that person happens to be a reporter...)
I think that contrast adds an interesting tension to any narrative. (At lest how I characterize it) I like to write Steve as very honest and blunt when he does revel something, but mostly keeps the curtains on his inner thoughts and feelings tightly shut, and is more likely to just not say anything in favour of revealing his true feelings VS Sid who is more likely to either admit the truth OR just say what he thinks people want to hear.
I also find that my favourite part about writing Steve changes depending on the pov. From Steve’s point of view it's fun to feel like you're in the know, as it always is with a character who’s reticent. Especially when the story is duel pov and the other party is constantly misinterpreting their signals.
And then of course, perhaps more basely, I find it very indulgent to write out my Jupiter-size crush from Sid’s perspective. 😌
Mostly I just find the dynamic between Sid and Steve specifically very interesting, they obviously get along and are very similar (the golden child saviours of their franchises, basically adopted by their club owners and cities, commercial darlings of the NHL...) but with a few key differences.
Personally, I think Steve is actually closer to how a lot of the fandom used to perceive Sid before they knew much about him: Steve was very often described as shy and mild mannered, and although I think Sid is genuinely humble and down to earth (thanks to his upbringing) he's always had an inherent confidence that I don't think Steve had coming into the league. For one, it was a different era and level of exposure; Steve played on a team in Nepean and then Peterborough (which for those who are uninitiated was not the frenzied cultural moment that was Sidney Crosby at Rimouski). Steve came into the league as a player that was accomplished but not at the level where people would be able anticipate what he would become vs Sid grew up with people already expecting big things from him from an early age so he had to develop the self confidence to withstand that etc etc.
So while they’re both insanely competitive and hard workers I just think Steve's confidence was galvanized a little later in life. Also, from what I've read about Steve it sounded like he had a very (emotionally) conservative upbringing with a stoic father, which might have added to the reservedness vs Sid who's parents come across as very much emotional/emotionally available.
They are both incredibly private and humble: Sid more private than Steve (Sid wont hold hands with his girlfriend in public, etc.) Steve more severely humble than Sid (lol, I have yet to hear about Sid un-retiring one of his own jerseys.)
And beside all that Steve just seems like a guy who really likes to have fun. There’s all the chirping, joke cracking, and gutting one liners, theres the fact that his ring tone was black eyed peas at one point, and that he wanted to be invited to Ovi’s next cup party.
He’s seemed to have flourished/come out of his shell (publicly) in retirement. Which I love since I love retirement fic, but I also I like in contrast to Sid who hasn’t reached that point in his career yet. As someone who's already lived though a lot of the same life experiences and come out the other side I just think there’s so much room for good emotional angst and dialogue there. And not to be forgotten the ship just wouldn't be a juicy emotionally without the age gap and hero worship 😌

hii o/ i came here to gush about your new mumscarian series because i just read iit and ??? it's AMAZING
first of all, you're insane (affectionate) for writing another long ass work right after the previous one, like it's actually so impressive. i love your writing so much btw i think it deserves all the praise in the world<3
the wordbuilding is so fucking good, i'm a sucker for all fantasy aus and i LOVE when the authors expand on their world and add their own little things to it like yes girl give me all the fantasy lore of your silly little world. it's just so interesting to read and i want to know more about it :D
ALSO THE CHARACTERIZATION OF SCAR…. i'm obsessed with him. i need to put your scar in a little box and study him. he's such a cool character, the fact that he pushes people away on purpose makes me sad, my boy deserves so much love but he doesn't think he does:( and i love the fact that grian just decided to befriend him as a challenge, he really saw a wild and deranged sorcerer and started domesticizing him. scar deserves a little kindness, as a treat. and their little conversations through the glyph made me so happy. also scar talking about how the glyphs work made me think that one day something will happen that will make scar dismiss his glyph and grian will think that he died or something
mumbo and grian's relationship is sooo cute, i love them a lot. grian just decided to befriend all the wild and lonely creatures out there, as he should. i'm also really curious about scar's relationship with mumbo, it's obvious that scar actually cares about mumbo but for some reason doesn't want or thinks he should have his feelings reciprocated…. i wonder what backstory do they have bc surely theres a lot to unpack throughout the seven years of knowijg each other
okay sorry for the longish ask but i had to talk about them bc brainrot<3 i love your works and i'm looking forward to seeing more of this series :D
AAAAA thank you so much <3 I'm really enjoying writing it, it's living in my head rent free right now <3 (also it's 3 AM here and I was just writing more scenes so uhh hahaa <3)
HHH thank you so much, that means the world to me <3 Long works are so fun to write, it lets me explore everything I want to explore and gives me time to tie up loose ends <3 I will admit I had not expected this one to be so long bUT I am happy to be making it even longer because there is... a LOT of ground to cover <3
Worldbuilding is one of the most fun things to write IMHO, I love it so much <3 I try to be subtle with it so as to not like infodump about the world I'm weaving but ya know <3 Sometimes I just gotta talk about it jhgfdjkfd
THIS VERSION OF SCAR HAS TAKEN OVER MY LIFE. I'mma call him Midnight!Scar since all the parts so far are named Midnight [word], but I started writing this and he absolutely took over. He's a feral thing and you haven't even seen half of how feral he can be <3 After all, you haven't even seen him in action yet... hehe~ There are things I'm quietly hinting about Scar that Grian isn't able to just see like he can pick up on Scar's manipulation, so I hope that turns out to be exciting <3 But Scar's reasons are... complicated at best and won't be fully explored immediately, but more like... lightly uncovered throughout the story, because his story has layers on top of layers. Also Scar Angst is my life fuel and I shall, in fact, delight in him suffering before he gets that happy ending. And oh yes- the glyph's being explained is, in fact... foreshadowing. Foreshadowing to what, I won't say, buuuuuut.... :) And also yes, Grian would absolutely befriend the guy who just blatantly wants him to hate him, just like "oh he's a little messed up, friend now" hhh
Gods yes they're so sweet together, like for Grian he saw Mumbo and it's Instant Crush and Mumbo is like Interest Piqued and they're so soft I love them <3 Grian is ultimately a gremlin tho so once they're established and comfy he's gonna be an absolute menace ahaha
YEAH SO ABOUT MUMBO AND SCAR'S BACKGROUND, that is exactly why I've chosen to post the story the way I'm doing it- because Third Person Limited (my favourite perspective to write from tbh) from Grian's POV means we lose every single private conversation between them, and my GOD I absolutely need to explore that deep dive because it is so important for them to Talk About It because Grian actually isn't there for a lot of it (because it's Scar and Mumbo's personal past together, so) and in the original doc, which is 100% from Grian's POV, there is a huge jump from them being hostile to being friends and it's jarring, so yeah........ buuuut I will give a little spoiler in that Scar knows a lot more about Mumbo than Mumbo knows he does, which might play a bit into why Scar cares so much. Also I want to explore/focus on them more than the way I originally wrote the story allowed since the Mumbo/Scar part of the Mumscarian is the slowburn so uhh yeah I feel like giving them the attention they deserve is super important <3
(also it's nice to post it as a series rather than a chaptered fic cuz this means I can go back and write scenes and order them chronologically on the list <3)
NO APOLOGIES THANK YOU SO MUCH this made my night honestly <3 Thank you so much! I'll be posting another part soon~ I hope my response actually makes sense because it's 3 AM and I was so happy to get this that I had to answer ASAP, thank you for sending this in! <3

Outside of me gushing about cosmo though i think itd be fun to lay out all my sonic x opinions now. boom:
I think its quality verrrry much has like. a very steep rise and fall. I think season 1 is pretty consistently fun and alright-- the stakes are lower and silly but people can enjoy that kind of thing. and they also have a lot of fun with the POTENTIAL of the silliness to-- i.e. the baseball episode. also it helps that like. its a plot not based on any particular games, and its built WITH its human cast-- not around it. Like the humans are fun and enjoyable because theyre meant to be there. And i think that's why season 2 is just.... a mess.
Because while i enjoyed the sa2 arc (and i really think the new speech that chris gives hits a bit harder than the og. even if it should've been amy giving it), they rush the SHIT out of the sa1 arc (and kinda sa2), and they try to push their human characters into narratives that WEREN'T built for them. and while for some this works (mr.stewart, cause hes an agent and investigates g.u.n.), for most, it really, really doesn't.
they try to fit chris into unchanged sonic adventure plots and it just DOESNT work. because you want to include your main human character in the main plot, but you don't want to take away any characterization or fan favorite moments from the actual sonic characters. so the solution ends up being chris tagging alone for no discernable purpose, and often times being what causes things to go wrong. It definitely goes worse in the sa1 arc than 2, but the issue still stands and then there's after the adventure arcs. the sonic battle arc was GOOD but outside of that? the writing kind of.... it feels like im watching a fish dying out of water. they had to fit in sa1, sa2, and battle, but because there isn't a season-long overarching plot, when thats over, theyre at a loss on how to fill the space, and match the new tone and stakes they set with those other arcs.
and then there's the whole ending plot of season 2 that relies on chris completely redoing a revelation that he already HAD, and actually goes backwards as a character. and i think this is where chris gets the worst. because he is now just actively getting in the protagonists way of actually MOVING ON to an INTERESTING plotline and youre just watching like please man can you let sonic go.
ANYWAYS i think ive seen people make fun of or dislike season 3 for its edginess but to me it is. by far the best. They set the stakes well, get serious, and get you engaged right off the bat. chris is there still but he actually takes a backseat to whats going on. they add a new character but they give her ATTENTION and its GOOD attention and great writing and she is very deeply woven into the story. And they just keep it up throughout the whole season-- like yeah ofc some episodes are gonna be a bit of a bore but for the whole season, i was engaged.
like theres real stakes going on, villains who i find believably dangerous and a threat to sonic, with interesting goals and motives. None of the plot feels like its forcing itself to exist, like it does in season 2. It's clear the writers got the clear to write their own original plot again for the whole season and they had so much fun with it.
and the characterization... oughghggh it was good (well, with the exception of rouge. they made her so MEAN that season and shes the only one with scenes that i actually violently disagree with. Her character goes up towards the end but it never shouldve gone down that far to begin with). while unfortunately sonics character is still kinda stagnant throughout the whole anime, even HE gets a few shining character moments (moments of self-sacrifice, mostly.) and SHADOW. god it makes me miss old shadow writing so bad. he's not perfect either but he's GOOD. he's still the shadow i know and love and i miss him. okay thats enough sonic x thoughts this is so long

i watched the first two episodes of velma and here’s my take (also obvs dont spend money to hate watch this. dont give them views if you dont want them to make more of it)
its pretty mid. like i just saw a post about how “mid” and “average” mean “bad” and thats not what i mean. its genuinely like. there was nothing particularly engaging about it but i also didnt feel compelled to click away halfway through either. at the end of episode one i sat there for about 30 seconds like. do i want to watch the second one. but it was a simple click away so i did
its stupid humor but not enough to interest people who are into stupid humor. its otherwise not very funny so anyone looking for a comedic cartoon also wouldn’t be interested. in the two episodes i watched, there was exactly one line i laughed at. norville said it. that’s literally all i remember about the line.
i could complain until the cows come home about the terrible characterization, but literally nothing has changed from mystery incorporated in my opinion, except now norville has the crush on velma, and velma is obsessed (negative) with daphne instead. velma is still judgemental and sarcastic all the time, fred is still a massive idiot, theres hardly anything to say about daphne and norville except norville doesnt smoke weed and seems like. super judgy about it. intended to be comedic, but it’s just uncomfortable.
the writing is mostly just “ha, aren’t tv shows and movies totally stupid and lame for doing this thing?” WHILE or directly before doing The Thing as if that’s a joke. character backgrounds are just vomited by the characters but intoned as if that too is in itself supposed to be funny. it definitely feels like those episodes of spn that were specifically made to make fun of the fandom.
that being said it’s also not as bad as people are making it out to be. norville isnt some massive jerk like i saw someone complaining about. fred is set up to be a kid who’s just trying to live up to his father’s idea of masculinity, so there might even be a massive payoff to that at some point (but don’t count on it). velma and daphne have already made out by the end of episode 2, so even though there’s probably gonna be another 8 episodes of “ohh but does she actually LIKE me or was that a spur of the moment thing???” with the added bonus of velma shooting herself in the foot with every and all interactions she has with other people that will keep them from getting together until the last episode (if they get together at all, but i don’t quite think its just queerbaiting. yet)
all this to say. if no one reminds me that this show exists i probably wont be tuning in the for the next 8 episodes. i might remember it at some point and binge the rest but as it stands its. bland enough to be forgettable. even if daphne is running drugs in this one for some reason
edit: post cancelled apparently mindy kaling is a terf and a jkr supporter + supposedly there are some shots taken at indians/indian women in the show which i didn’t catch (but like i. wouldnt) but can believe since apparently she adds that sort of thing in her comedy a lot

ok so i was thinking abt the main ln kids as that “brains, brawn and heart” thing or however it goes (idk but i also dont care and its too late anyways) and i realised i could never put each of them in just one bc they all have a little of each so as fun as it is to stuff things into boxes (figuratively and literally) today i will be doing not that and analyzing the ln kids once again! by urs truly <3 (all based on my own characterization! i wont be doing rcg but?? idk maybe later?? sometime??) (also ln, vln, and ln2 spoilers)
my first thought for six was brain which makes sense. it’s stated in all sorts of official media that she’s insanely clever, especially for her age might i add.  she navigates the entirety of the maw on her own, facing brutal monsters that want her dead, solving puzzles and doing a whole ton of dirty work. she’s clearly adapted to this world as well, and doesn’t break easily. shes strong too. physically and mentally. theres an astounding amount of things she has to go through, keeping in mind that this world was not made for her in mind at all. everything around her is huge, and on top of that shes basically considered vermin. but she surpasses everyones expectations with her skills, and escapes the maw alive; harmed certainly, but alive. and i was going to start this with heart is what she’s lacking, but that’s worded horribly and just .. wrong. she has tons of heart, she just doesnt really. like it. and so she deals with it differently; she pushes it down. that’s not always easy though. sometimes she lets her guard down. in vln, she helps out rcg, even if that ends horribly, her heart was in the right place. throughout the first game, she hugs nomes, and provides them a source of light and warmth. and in ln2, she becomes attached to mono possibly more than she’s ever been to anyone else. even if it wasn’t her intent, she definitely grows to care for him atleast a little; but survive is still her top priority, and always will be (as it should be tbh). we see this at the beginning when they meet; the moment mono provides an exit and shows he isn’t a threat, six bolts, and only allows him nearby when she realises he can help her. this situation ends in defeat because before she knows it, they’ve been through all of it together, and they’re friends. .. but still she pushes it down. because getting attached could be dangerous. she’s independent, strong and clever, and anyone who can’t match her wit is weak to her, and could slow her down. and even if she’s right, what she doesn’t know is that it will hurt anyways. she tries so hard not to get attached but it doesn’t always work, and pretending those feelings aren’t there only ends up hurting more than she thinks, and it will keep hurting again and again and again. as for mono, i thought he’d fit in brawn. he’s definitely the strongest of them (not to say the others aren’t strong of course), again both mentally and physically. he’s born naturally with a decent amount of strength, and like i believe i said before, you have to be strong to survive this world for long, or yknow, at all. he’s good at facing danger upfront, using tools to his advantage. mentally, he definitely worries a lot, but he also does his best to stay on the positive side of things and look for the silver lining, and help others lean towards that track too; even if they dont want it, cough cough. that’s where heart comes in. he’s got a lot of that, and isn’t very afraid to show it. having someone to protect gives him a purpose, and a feeling of fulfillment; again, even if that someone doesnt want/need it.  his big heart helps him gain allies, friends even, but his need to protect can get in the way of his own survival as well. even if he’s doing the right thing, that doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous. counterpoint, like i said, having someone to protect gives him purpose; it gives him a reason to stay alive and really do his best. it’s a huge motivation for him, which is why he can easily get attached to others. as for brain, he’s also insanely clever, and is especially crafty with tools, in a similar way six is crafty with her environment, which is one of the many reasons they make a great team. onto rk! the reason i ended up with brain for six and brawn for mono is actually because i immediately thought of rk as heart; and he is. he’s kind, and very willing to help out, but he isn’t a doormat either. he’s emotionally clever and very in-tune with his own thoughts, and has a great amount of determination (hence his name/title, duh). he’s willing to give everyone a chance but knows boundaries and limitations too; there’s no manipulating or tricking him. he can tell when he’s gone too far, or when others have, and can befriend almost anyone; although that doesn’t mean he will. if someone is rude, or just doesn’t want anything to do with him, he’s aware of that and will likely return the feeling. he won’t really push (mono on the other hand definitely will, which can be both a positive and negative trait).  he definitely isn’t the strongest, but again, say it with me, you have to be strong to survive in this world, mentally and physically. no amount of just heart or brains can get you out alive, even if it gets you far. although it’s not like there’s an escape at all, i suppose. while the ln world wasn’t always the way it is, it really does seem like there’s no turning back. this world is twisted and that’s just how it is now, sometimes not even strength, or all 3 traits i’ve mentioned, can get you “out” alive. rk knows firsthand.

I'm. The new covers, op. The new covers. Gosh. Both of them hold so much symbolism. And technically they both are canon, they are both original ideas that could perfectly be valid. Horikoshi simply found something better. But anyways, I'm going to go ahead and ramble about it because Im- Op, prepare for a long ask! Hope you like it!
So!
On the one where Katsuki's the one in the picture, he's not on his knees like he is in the other two covers. Instead, he has his face down, body forward, one hand on one leg, the other one holding out for something...He's bowing. Bowing in Japanese culture is a pretty big deal. Hes not just tilting his head a bit, his head and body are on full on commitment.
Such a tilted bow means a LOT, specially from THIS guy, Mr dont let anyone walk in front of me. Even more when hes not just bowing, but accepting such an open display of given help, Mr shonen anime lone wolf. Accepting something he always has trouble admitting to. Accepting the past, accepting the wrongs. Accepting Izukus help means so much, and that's what these three covers have in common.
His hand is sctretching out. He's ready to say yes to that hand out in the air.
(Ps. I wonder if he's watching his own reflection on the water in this panel, as well?)
Tumblr media
Hes in middle of the picture with those childhood friend at the back, which means audience. It means letting people see what hes done, what he's sorry for. He is being open and exposed and vulnerable. That's no fighting stance.
Remember guys, in case you haven't noticed before, Horikoshi puts lots of metaphorical value in his manga and on his covers. Sometimes you've got to dig in deep and think to get the bigger picture. And in this case, the bigger picture screams regret and wanting to make things right from the start.
This cover occurs in the past, at the moment where everything started, and Katsuki fully remembers this. Katwuki has thought of this, is thinking about this. He's had eye bags for gods sake, he's clearly troubled by all of what it means.
These three covers are the visual explanation of what's going on inside Katsuki's head, because this is clearly focused on him and his perspective.
(Ps. Rivers symbolise the massage of time. If that doesnt add to everything else, I dont know what to tell you.)
So! Next!
Tumblr media
Wow, if this isnt one of my favourite things ever. Okay. Christ.
I have two options here. Scratch that, three options. Scream into the void, scream into this post, or actually make a good presentation of my inner turmoil. I'll have to go by the third option. (Haha. Just like horikoshi did. Dont # me, I'm funny in my head.)
This cover melted my insides, froze them all over, and hit me with them like a hammer.
I know they're kids, but let me get this straight-so kids seriously look at their friends with these looks in their eyes and think "ah, yes. This is my very good friend. This gentle smile and kind look I'm giving him as if he was my whole world? Well, hes just a very good friend."
I looked at my childhood crush this way, I dont know what to tell you.
Anyway, let's actually jump to the information at hand.
This panel seems like it's making a reference to what Katsuki wishes could have been. And if that's not absolutely soul-crushing...this cover is Katsuki's feelings, guys. These are probably his very thoughts. This scene has gone through Katsuki's head at some point.
We've got Izuku in his stuck up pose all over again, in just an awkward angle. It's like katsuki isnt looking AT this katsuki right now, but at the spot where the actual past Katsuki, at some point, was. As if this Isuku is frozen in time. Dont believe too much in this paragraph, I still have my doubts about that, but I feel it's a possibility. Izukus eyes seem to be focused on the water, while Katsuki is just the tiniest bit back, reaching for Izukus hand. And gosh.
I dont think I've ever seen older NOR child Katsuki have this look plasted into his face before. He's...sheepish. Kindly, awkwardly sheepish. No hate, no anger, no shame, no nothing. His face is clear and sweet and has this "Whoops. You got me. But thanks." kind of expression on.
The hand behind his head, just the tiniest but embarassed? That little smile? It's all so soft.
Rambling about softness though- I really liked the hand scene in this particular panel. If you close up your view, you realise that theres no effort to pull anyone out of nowhere. In this panel, they are simply holding hands in frozen time for no purpose at all.
Katsuki has his hand around Izuku...simply holding there.
Again, because the angle is awkward, it's kind of messy, but you get the point.
It's all simply beautiful. Horikoshi clean likes give me life.
And lastly. The actual cover.
Tumblr media
I screeched so hard when I saw this. My first instinct when seeing this for the first time was to straight up go trigger happy fingers and write about it to my friends. Christ.
Everything is so...SOft. horikoshi made a good decision by mixing both previous drawings in one. We have parts of the two covers in one, which is amazing. In this one, Katsuki isnt alone, as Izuku's there too. But we dont have the audience either. Probably because the main focus on this panel is no one else except them two.
Again, Katsuki looks like he's bowing, but instead of looking all the way down, he's in the middle. Not looking at Izuku nor looking at the ground, like it shows in the previous covers. Instead, Horikoshi found a middle ground. He's looking at his hand. At the gesture.
Hes not holding hands quite yet, but his hand is there. At arms reach. Not close enough but there. Wanting.
Theres so much regret and again, softness.
Again, like you Op said a bit bad, the angle is off here. This is present Katsuki remembering his past. The angle is off because this Izuku isnt holding out for our Katsuki. This is a memory. A wish. Katsuki's wish.
(Ps. Izukus trousers drenched in the rivers water. This detail was so nice. It's a subtle action that describes Izukus characterization so much. Izuku went in the river with Katsuki in mind, not caring if he got his clothes soaked in the process too. For Izuku, only Katsuki was there. And for Katsuki, only Izuku is.
As a plus, I can't believe the cover of this is literally called Bakugou Katsuki rising. They named the entire thing after that one chapter. Actually, I very much, totally believe it. It's the moment so many people have been waiting for, after all. The moment so many scenes have been amounting for, little by little.
*dreamy sigh*
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed this little thing, I had to get it out of my system and dont want to bother my dear friends anymore than needed.
Have a good day, OP! I'll stay updated!
You kinda just...took my heart and curb stomped it, not gonna lie. Your observations are so beautiful and so accurate. The sketch with little Bakugou taking Izuku’s hand is so...raw, and yeah, that expression is definitely one of love. Those eyes, the way he is HOLDING Izuku’s hand, not TAKING it. He isn’t taking it to stand up, he is literally just...holding it.
Tumblr media
That isn’t the way you take someone’s hand when you’re trying to pull yourself up. It’s an awkward angle and just...wouldn’t work right. No, he is literally just holding his hand, and that’s exactly what Bakugou wishes he did all that time ago. He wishes that he not only took Deku’s hand, but held onto it. Held it as if it were something precious, something to be cared for and protected.
These are Bakugou’s true feelings expressed in these drawings, and I think Horikoshi released them on purpose, to show us more of what he wanted Bakugou to be feelings through all of this. Since after all, we know that Bakugou expresses himself in action, not so much words. And because Horikoshi is an absolute genius, he thought to give us these other glimpses in how he feels through these actions.
And the other sketch with him bowing his body to Izuku, and the way the log looks like it’s on his back with his ‘friends’ on top of it.
