Something we should definitely not overlook, because it feels relevant to birthdaygate, is the individual character posters for season 4.
There's actually even an interview with the Duffer Brothers, where they were asked about this theory:
Though, I should clarify, this interviewer got a few details wrong, as it appears Max was actually looking away from the camera, not directly at it. Not only that, but she also wasn’t the only one to do so. She was one out of four total...
Tumblr media
Looking directly at the camera: El, Hopper, Murray, Will, Argyle, Steve, Dustin, Robin, (not shown above: Karen, Lucas, Erica, Nancy, Eddie)
Looking away from the camera, to their left: Joyce, Mike, Jonathon, Max
We could deduce that this visual choice was foreshadowing Max getting cursed by Vecna in season 4, and Matt did sort of elude to this in his response to the question, seeing as it was focused only on her. But what could this possibly mean for the other three then?
Initially, it didn’t seem like we got anything substantial enough in s4 that could have possibly paralleled Joyce, Mike and Jonathon to Max's situation, or even being cursed by Vecna like she did for that matter. Well, except—
Tumblr media
I do find it interesting that the same episode we see Max slowly discover she has been cursed, in an episode literally titled 'Vecna's Curse', it's March 22nd, Will's birthday, and in real time we are seeing the three people who would definitely never forget Will's birthday, presumably forget.
Tumblr media
Because undeniably, the first thing that crosses my mind when it comes to what could possibly connect these three characters with each other, is Will. He's what connects them all. But even more specifically, THIS scene below is what connects them all, a scene which, might I remind you, has a major emphasis on the word 'remember':
Joyce: Do you know what March 22nd is? It’s your birthday. YOUR birthday. When you turned 8, I gave you that huge box of crayons, do you remember that?
Jonathon: Do you remember the day dad left?
Mike: Do you remember the first day that we met?
Tumblr media
Vecna:
Tumblr media
Not only do I think this means that Vecna most likely took away these three's memory of Will’s birthday, I also think it means he took away this specific memory and all the memories mentioned within it.
If it's all coming full circle and everything leads back to Will, it would make sense that Vecna 'took notes' during this whole incident in 2x08. These memories and these specific people in Will's life played a role in thwarting Vecna's plans last time, so obviously, he's not going to give them the chance to do that again.
This also brings up some interesting questions:
Were those weird POV shots of the Cali gang, that looked oddly stalker-ish, meant to represent Vecna keeping a close eye on them, to make sure his plan was still in motion?
How long will this manipulation (curse) Vecna has on these three last? And to what extent? Will it all just come to a head right away in early season 5, at a moment when they're trying to save Will, but they inevitably fail because all of the relevant things that saved him last time, are now missing from their memories?
And last, but definitely not least, is it possible Mike wouldn’t have gone through with professing his love to El, the way that he did, even going as far as to say his life started the day he found her in the woods (the day Will went missing), if he had remembered already doing the exact same thing with Will…? If he had remembered the best thing he'd ever done was ask Will to be his friend? Because if this theory is correct y’all... MIKE DOESN'T REMEMBER!!!???
Well, that's all (for now)
Please be sure to check out this post if you haven't already, but even more importantly, scroll down to the bottom of that post, because there I have linked all the most incriminating evidence thus far.
And trust me, once you read all of it, it's pretty much undeniable.
I also hope this gives some validation to those of you out there who denied vehemently that Joyce, Mike or Jonathon could EVER possibly forget Will's birthday. Because you were right. Technically, they didn't. Technically it required an inter-dimensional monster for this to be possible at all. So props to ya'll and your faith in these characters! YOU WERE RIGHT!

OKAY THOUGHTS TIME
This should be more coherent than last weeks where I lost my mind since this episode feels more like a lead-up to the drama rather than the drama itself. Which is exciting!
It’s 6:48 A.M. and they’re heading to school…. y’all I keep forgetting it’s been less than 48 hours since Tyler got kebabed. It’s been well over a year real-time so it’s so easy to forget these kids literally get NO break.
They all look so exhausted :(
Rest In Pieces Logan’s Glasses. He looks terrifying without them, but glad he has contacts. Makes me wonder, will they be broken or intact in the Phantom World? I think they’ll be intact since (if I remember correctly been a few weeks since I’ve reread) once they interact with an object in Phantom World, the Real World stops affecting it. Like the jeep. Also, are we gonna get contacts Logan from now on, will he get a new style of glasses, or will he just replace the lenses in a few episodes? (Also that hurt as a Glasses User who does not wear them as often as she technically needs to I don’t like them sensory eueuhhj. They must be SO expensive)
Again, WHERE IS AIDEN’S MADRE?
Ryan following them again… go away sir.
I can’t tell if Mike was glancing back because he notices Ryan’s car following them or if he was just checking on the Graveyard Gang… but I wouldn’t put it past him to notice they’re being trailed. He’s very observant.
Okay little screaming moment… HDJKWHBJKHJIHJWI THAT PANEL KILLED ME (Everyone looks so DONE and ANGRY and EXHAUSTED and the collective “No.” was GREAT. And then we have Ben looking like a troubled cat that’s just… disappointed. It’s cracking me up)
Logan likes french toast and Taylor likes egg and sausage biscuits, noted.
BARRON GET YO CRUSTY HINEY AWAY BEFORE I SMACK YOU WITH A FLYSWATTER YOU P E S T
They all looked SO COOL telling those losers off. It hurts so much to see how resilient they’ve gotten, honestly. At the start of the series they would’ve been scared or crying, now they’re just mildly irked. They’ve witnessed horrors. (Also boy RUN Ben is about to go FERAL on you)
Logan is scaring me. If they are turning into phantoms, he’s turning fast. It seems triggered by negative emotions…. that could be why Logan and Taylor seem the most affected right now?
Ashlyn is breaking my heart but I’m still so proud of her. Sucks HOW she’s learned to open up but seeing her now compared to the beginning is insane. Purposely avoiding ANY human contact and relationships to dead-seriously asking Logan to stay with her. I love how much she’s grown. And her hand was shaking… she’s getting good at being more vulnerable too!
Barron doin’ the little “I’M WATCHING YOU” sign is too funny to me— AND TAYLOR DOES IT BACK UYHIGYHIGYH I MISSED THAT THE FIRST READ
I WAS FEHWJFRIHIGUJ I NEEEEEED THE MR THOMAS LORE NOW. HOW DOES HE KNOW? Okay actually I have a few possible theories:
He is a part of or has encountered the crane organization. I still can’t still if the origami on his desk was symbolism, foreshadowing, or both.
He’s got eye bags. Could be natural (like mine) or… could Mr. Thomas also be in the Phantom World? Or he was when he was younger? If so, he would be REALLY valuable as an asset for our group. If he was when he was a high schooler as well but escaped that could help too. Now I’m just ITCHING for lore
AUGH I love Red’s pacing but it’s so annoying at the same time. I can TELL we as a collective are staring to figure things out (and as a collective I mean everyone on Tumblr and the Webtoon comments) but we literally just don’t have enough information to fill in the blank spaces without wild guessing. And we have SOME answers but we don’t know what questions they answer yet. Does get me SUPER pumped for the future of the series though!
EDIT: BUZZCUT’S NAME IS RYAN THANK YOU @planetarymesss

SPOILER THOUGHTS ON THE FNAF MOVIE
You were warned
First off MR MATTHEW PATRICK
That man had EVERYONE CONVINCED HE WASN’T IN IT, the group of teenage boys beside me were as equally excited and we all gasped when he said, “well that’s just a theory”
I had my lore brain on when I watched it and let me tell you the second I saw the DREAM THEORY book I thought it was a matpat reference because I had assumed he wasn’t in it, (I was obviously very wrong)
I absolutely loved seeing my one true love Matthew Lillard as a villain once more, the springlock scene was so good, especially with that scene with golden Freddy boy just staring at him as he quivered in agony
Also the William Afton reveal was very funny because the teenage boys beside me just said “I would have never guessed that” I loved the commentary <3
Abby was honestly adorable and I saw a lot of myself in her, with her drawing 24/7, I loved how her and Mikes relationship were explored, the stress of trying to look after his little sister, while juggling a job and then the aunt trying to take Abby just for a check. The way Mike feels Abby doesn’t really care for him, but (as the teacher points out) Mike is at the centre of almost all her drawing.
The Vanessa as William Zafron’s daughter reveal kind of obvious to me, but I mainly think it was because I was planning a fanfic where the main character was Aftons daughter so a lot of things she done were thing I was thinking about (stuff like knowing her way around the place and knowing about the springlock suits)
The horror aspect of the movie is very pg13 as expected (as someone who loves horror movies) which is good in a sense because I think it’s a very good introduction to horror for tween/young teens. Nothing is crazy graphic (except for Maxs death which I thought was very unexpected for a pg13 movie but I mean it really added to the horror aspect) most of the jump scares have the (what I like to call) “delayed visuals/sounds” which let the audience brace themselves for the scares. I do kind of wish the animatronics were a little bit more “bloody” after killing the break in gang, I mean Freddy bit Max in half, you’d think he would have a bit of blood somewhere on him.
I loved Josh Hutcherson acting in the movie though, he was really enjoyable to watch (but I also absolutely LOVE Josh so :P ) i think he portrayal of his trauma relating to his brother is very clever, this deal golden Freddy boy made with him, capitalising on his desire to fix what happened to get to Abby.
Speaking of Abby, the ending when she puts up the drawing she made, is very clever but I think the way it was portrayed was a bit strange. We see Abby making drawings for the animatronics so we see that they value her art, and I think the idea of her drawing their actual fate to counteract the image of Spring Bonnie being their friend is very smart. But just replacing the image is a bit weak, I think if Abby tried to run around to show them, or get their attention is some way would work better but it’s only a small flaw.
I think since Vanessa was stabbed, and she doesn’t wake from the coma by the end of the movie it’s probably setting up for the next movie, it’s a bit of a lacklustre ending for her. On the note of Vanessa, I feel her relationship with William Afton wasn’t explored nearly enough, just a small part of dialogue, discussing what he did and how she didn’t want to clean up after him anymore.
Final note: the part where William Afton (as Steve Raglin the career counsellor) reads the file for Mike Schmidt, the way he doesn’t even finish saying his last name foreshadows how he knew that he was sitting in front of one of his victims siblings. I just love Matthew Lillard and everything he does
I will most definitely be seeing it again, probably streaming it online so my little sister can see it because she really wants to see it

ok guys the brainrot is setting in…
i was looking at this poster listening to the soundtrack and noticed where everyone was looking and some (steve - nancy) are kind of a reach but maybe there is something there, cuz they don’t pose the actors like that for nothing.
ok so here’s the poster in its entirety
Tumblr media
divided into 4 parts right? basically the “crews” as we know; hawkins, california, russia, and el who is separate for some time.
now let’s analyze each “sector”:
Tumblr media
el as i mentioned is looking the upside down in the “eye” hence her connection to it shown in the flashbacks and the vecna origin story. and i assume it’s the lab floor under her, since we also see her upbringing under papa.
Tumblr media
for the hawkings gang it’s a bit more complicated; i see nancy and robin facing eachother since their storyline involves just them for some time, but ofc ronance is also a possibility ! now here’s where it’s kind of a reach but let me be delusional. you can kind of see that steve is looking in nancy’s direction signaling his confused feeling towards her and his desperate (and tbh embarrassing) attempts of flirting with her. he want to rekindle that flame, but nancy is not looking back (literally). also their ground is representative of the creel house.
now for lucas and max, you can see lucas looking at max, and with context, he’s probably looking in a concerned manner. he has been aware of her unwell being for some time now and wants to look after her. but max’s mind is else where. she is scared of this supernatural being after her. she doesn’t look back to lucas because there are bigger things on her mind. and she’s the only one looking “backwards”, or towards the audience, perhaps demonstrating her disconnectedness from that reality and the group, foreshadowing what’s to come.
Tumblr media
this one’s the most obvious but it mostly shows that the looking is hinted at to be romantic, since we finally get jopper united and in a relationship !
Tumblr media
ok, so for the california section, we can see jonathan looking in direction of the cali crew, to show his conflict with nancy, his PARTNER. so we know that even though he’s in another state, he is thinking of her. (keep in mind this is proof that you can look “off screen” into another section!)
and for the thing that we’ve all been waiting for…
Tumblr media
byler!!!!
like we’ve seen from the previous example, staring is considered romantic in this context. also, (given the previous example) it is possible to look beyond your “square”, as we see jonathan do. so why isn’t mike staring left and up at eleven? like this:
Tumblr media
even though eleven is “next” to will, he isn’t seen “tilting” his head, like jonathan is. but will is still in the middle of el and mike. signaling the love “triangle”. BUT MIKE IS STILL ONLY LOOKING DIRECTLY AT WILL?!?!! also you can see a bike behind will that can be interpreted as him having to leave biking with the gang, playing dnd and other geeky things behind, and having to “grow out of it” );
alright i’m loosing it.
signing off, over and out.

I agree and as a theorist/fan, many of the theories we've seen here came out to be wrong as well as the narrative reading. So it is rather *interesting* when people just circled back to their same mindset here instead of just a little bit stepping back and reconsidering/re-examining the narrative and writing choices. And the only 'theory' that was right was about Will being gay, which was pretty much the clearest writing thing out there. You're also right that sometimes it is easier to got into something way too much that you start missing the more obvious build ups. Like the monologue thing was pretty much foreshadowed (aside from it also being leaked) but many bylers said it was not gonna happen because ''it was expected''. Yeah... it was expected because it was heavily hinted. And the vol2 reaction came from ignoring the more obvious narrative choices and writing decisions and sticking to fanmade theories instead.
Yeaaah I was definitely one of the "It's too heavily foreshadowed to happen, they must be trying to mislead us" bylers. Even Henry/Vecna being the same person was something I thought was too obvious to actually be true. I feel like people don't think about how the majority of the audience doesn't dig into the show like we do, and that the writers understand that and will make a lot of obvious foreshadowing and hints for them to notice. I'm starting to realize ST is simply a very predictable show, and I don't hate that, but it was hard to accept.
It's frustrating how many people seem to cycle back to the same theories every time despite canon repeated contradicting them. People are so dead-set on what they want the story to be, and will do just about anything to convince themselves they were right all along. (I mean this in the nicest way possible, considering I was one of these people)
And YES omg people saying they must be right about Mike because they knew Will was gay, like... That was very oblivious and most people in the ga have known since s1. Genuinely, how many byler theories have been right? I can't think of a single s4 theory made by bylers that actually happened, other than Will being gay and in love with Mike. Lonnie showing up? Mutual Mike and El break up? Will having fire powers? Cali gang being chased around by the government? Swing set painting? A gate opening in Rink-O-Mania? Bylers have been wrong about a lot of things.
I'm hoping s5 will address everything it needs to, with Mike especially. His sexuality and mental health are all heavily up for interpretation right now. And I don't want them to keep it that way, having Mike himself state his feelings would eradicate (most of) the arguing in the fandom.

El’s Playlist Part Two: The Self-Explanatories
As per the name, these songs are the ones that are pretty self-explanatory, that don’t really have too much to analyze. I thought I’d summarize them here just for reference, but these are mostly things we already know.
Alright gang leggo.
1: “Raise Hell” by Dorothy
So, as with a lot of the songs on her playlist, this song is about El being an inherent badass. Observe:
“Young blood, came to start a riot/Don't care what your old man say/Young blood, heaven hate a sinner/But we gonna raise hell anyway”
This song may also have a double meaning, a literal meaning, foreshadowing the events at the finale of S4 (the UD rising into Hawkins).
“Baby drop them bones/Baby sell that soul/Baby fare thee well”
Also, the lyrics above could loosely reference Vecna and the trances, but I don’t really think that was the reason they chose this song.
Another thing about this song is the artist, Dorothy. What I noticed while going through El’s playlist is that there is a “fairytale” motif of sorts—specifically referencing Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz. I’ll go through my in-depth thoughts on that in the conclusions and takeaways section of these analyses, but I’m just pointing them out in each individual song as well.
2: “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar
Again, a song about El fighting and being a badass.
“You come on with the come on/You don't fight fair/That's okay, see if I care!/Knock me down, it's all in vain/I get right back up on my feet again!”
Not giving us any info we didn’t know, but a solid song nonetheless.
3: “Don’t Wanna Fight” by Alabama Shakes
A lot of these songs could have double meanings, this one included. By just looking at the title, my impression was that this song was about El being tired of being put on a “superhero” pedestal by the people around her. She’s been fighting all her life, and she’s getting tired of having to do so.
“Living ain't no fun/The constant dedication/Keeping the water and power on/There ain't nobody left/Why can't I catch my breath?/I'm gonna work myself to death”
And then it could also be referencing El’s relationships, especially with the first lines of the song.
“My life, your life/Don't cross them lines/What you like, what I like/Why can't we both be right?/Attacking, defending/Until there's nothing left worth winning/Your pride and my pride/Don't waste my time”
…which could be about either Hopper or Mike (it’s a funny thing with this playlist—in songs like these, it’s kind of hard to differentiate the Mike/Hop/Brenner references). However, as accurate as these second set of lyrics seem to be in regards to El’s relationships, I think the overarching theme of the song when it comes to why it was put on El’s playlist is being tired of always having to fight, and just wanting to rest and live your life.
4: “Piece of My Heart” by Big Brother & The Hiding Company
And ladies and gentlemen, here we have one of MANY romantic tragedy/breakup songs.
“Didn't I make you feel like you were the only man? Yeah/And didn't I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can?/Honey, you know I did/And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I've had enough/But I'm gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough”
The song is basically saying, “I gave you my heart, I gave you all I could, but you’re still hurting me.” This has a specifically romantically theme. Mike, bud, come on…
5: “Good Girls” by Elle King
Yep, another song about El being a badass.
“Hey, hey, hey/Since I'm gonna go to Hell anyway/I'll go out with a bang, bang, bang/Crash and burn it all away/Hey, hey, hey/Since I'm gonna go to Hell anyway/I'll go out with a bang, bang, bang/Crash and burn it all away”
What I find interesting is that this song is in one of the newer Ghostbusters…just a fun little thing.
6: “Gotta Get Out Tonight” by The Runaways
So what I noticed is that El, like Mike, sort of has a “running away” motif in her playlist. It’s not nearly as persistent as Mike’s, and I think El’s motif is more about what we already know about her at this point, but I thought I’d mention it nonetheless. I used Mike’s motif to justify my theory that he will leave Hawkins at the end of the show, and now I’m wondering if El will also leave (I personally love the “gap year with Max” hc).
I think this particular song is about El leaving Hawkins to find her sister. There are a lot of ways you could interpret this song, it could have multiple meanings, but this meaning seems pretty solid, since this playlist was released to promote S2.
“Gotta get out tonite/The wild one is callin' me/Gotta get out tonite/Out on the town is where I'll be alright”
7: “Don’t” by Larkin Poe
I was going back and forth over whether this song was about Mike or Hopper (wow, they really said “hmmm you know let’s compare him to ALL the father figures MWAHAHA”), but in the end, it reminds me more of S3 Hopper.
“Don't Honey don't bust down my door/Tellin' me what I should do/You've been around time and again/But you don't give a damn about where I've been”
8: “You’re No Good” by Linda Ronstadt
What’s concerning to me is that at first I couldn’t tell whether this song was supposed to be about Brenner or Mike…wow. But after sitting with it a bit, I think this song is supposed to be about Brenner. S4 emphasized El realizing Brenner’s abuse most prominently (even though we know that she was also not happy with Mike’s behaviour).
“Feelin' better now that we're through/Feelin' better, 'cause I'm over you/I learned my lesson, it left a scar/Now I see how you really are”
“I'm tellin' you now, baby/And I'm going my way/Forget about you, baby/'Cause I'm leavin' to stay”
9: “Cruel Summer” by Bananorama
This one’s pretty self-explanatory—it’s basically the mood of S3. Summer arrives, supernatural shit ensues. So it goes.
“Hot summer streets and the pavements are burning/I sit around/Trying to smile but the air is so heavy and dry/Strange voices are sayin' (what did they say?)/Things I can't understand/It's too close for comfort, this heat has got right out of hand”
Yay, Part 2 done! Now for Part 3…

My two sisters and I watch Stranger Things together and unfortunately they both have work today. We squeezed in the S4E8 before their shift, but will have to wait to watch the finale till 11 PM tonight. In the meantime, I will be ranking how likely I think a character is going to die out of 10. There was a tweet a while back from the Duffer Brothers about this season having consequences and this two major character deaths. (I don’t have the exact wording and I sure as hell am not going on twitter to check). But point was we know someone’s going to die so in this torturous wait, I’m guessing whom. Please no spoilers in the replies or reblogs.
The Kiddos
El: 8 She’s always going to be at the thick of things. She’s seen as the only hope since she forced Henry into the Upside Down the first time. Pretty sure she’s going to just go into a coma but death is a possibility.
Mike Wheeler: 7 The love confession from Will was very emotional. Lots of feelings all around if “the heart of the group” dies. Also Nancy’s vision which was meant to frighten her specifically included her mom and Mike’s deaths. I don’t like him so probably higher rating than it strictly needs to be, but still solid odds.
Will Byers: 5 I think possession by Vecna is far more likely than death and that he would be a more symbolic death in the final season. (Unclear if Season 5 is the last one but point is the show starts with his disappearance and should end with his death.)
Dustin Henderson: 9.5 I am pretty certain Dustin is either going to die or almost die and be saved last minute by Erica based on the Hellfire D&D game. Also the moment when Eddie told him to always stay like this made my brain go he can stay like that if he’s dead. Plus he’s the guy who puts things together for them; imagine the consequences of not having that next season. Points in favor of his survival: he’s such a fan favorite I feel like I already would have been spoiled if it happened, he was the first kid cast and really helps with the unity of the group.
Lucas Sinclair: 8 This ranking largely inspired by my middle sister who feels pretty certain Lucas is going to die. And I sort of see where she’s coming from since he’s less a centerpiece of the group and his relationship with Max/all the emotional conversations he’s been a part of because of that make him a good candidate for the sacrifice play. (Plus I’ve gotten 2 spoilers from Twitter accidentally one of them being Max and Lucas trended. But I’m just really counting on that being from shipping moments because they’ve been so gosh darn cute this season.) I also firmly believe next season will play up the satanic ritual/witch hunt side of things now that the ideas in the town’s head at large. His place as someone who tried to play the middle ground with Jason and the rest of the basketball team makes that plotline especially interesting.
Max Mayfield: 8 Easily the most foreseeable death. She’s acting as bait in a situation likely to kill her. But I don’t think they’ll do it. It feels a little too obvious and I want May to grow and be forced to recon with Billy’s death and the overall trauma she’s been through.
Erica Sinclair: 2 Is my love for her clouding my ranking? Undoubtedly yes. However I stand by my theory that would happens in their D&D games is a reflection of real life. Erica threw the saving throw that defeated Vecna. She isn’t dying. Plus as much as I love her not sure if she would still qualify as a “major” character with this large of an ensemble.
The Scooby Doo Gang
Steve Harrington: 1 I think I read somewhere the writers love him too much to kill him. I could have dreamed it but I don’t care, my boy lives.
Nancy Wheeler: 7 I feel like it’s telling Vecna showed her his backstory. But there hasn’t been anything specific that makes me go that’s foreshadowing she isn’t going to make it.
Robin Buckley: 6 Her line about having a bad feeling about this is pretty much solely responsible for her bump in this rating. We also really haven’t seen her in fighting circumstances the way we’ve seen some of the others. Definitely think either she or Will can die but the other is relatively safe due to writers being conscious of the Bury your Gays trope and Will’s death packs the larger punch.
Jonathon Byers: 4 I can’t really justify this one. He’s driving to the action, pursued by the military so he’s not safe but in comparison he certainly feels like it. Also besides getting his life together to go to a different college than Nancy, no real foreshadowing or emotional conversations that would make me consider the authors were trying to build up his death as this extreme moment of sadness.
Eddie Munson: 8 He’s new so it feels like this is a toss up. His declaration that he’s going to be brave makes me think he’ll be in the thick of the action. He’s had emotional moments with Dustin that could be foreshadowing. Kinda think he’s going to be murdered by Jason and his crew though instead of Vecna. (He has lots of bad memories that could be used against him though.) Still waiting for him to sing while trying to safe someone from Vecna because of the mention of his MS band to Chrissy.
Argyle: 2 This man is the comedy, the automatic mood lightener. Yes his death would show that things had gotten serious but we already know they’re serious. On the flip side, minor enough that he could be killed with impunity.
The Russian Crew:
Joyce Byers: 3 She’s not in any real danger right now (besides you know potentially crashing in a helicopter.) Plus Winona Ryder has enough star power she could stick around for that reason alone.
Hopper: 2 If they really wanted to, he would have just died last season.
Murray: 2 Another gut feeling one. His death doesn’t really further the plot in any way. Already done impossible things this season that make it seem odd for him to die now.
Dimitri/Enzo/Traitor Guard guy: 9 From the moment he mentioned wanting to see his son again to Hopper I knew he was going to die. It felt like foreshadowing. Don’t know how but am convinced it’s happening.
Yuri: 4 This man is crazy and should not be given control of a helicopter and yet pretty sure he’s going to live.
Others:
Vecna/1/Henry: 7 If he dies he’s not really dead. We need him for next season.
Mrs. Wheeler: 8 Another one where I’m unable to articulate beyond this character doesn’t really serve a purpose and they had a major enough foreshadowing/threat that I think it’s valid.
Officer Powell: 7 He’s a man in deep over his head.
Jason: 10 Accidental Spoiler on my sister’s part. Apparently his death is brutal

"Rebel robin" easterggs
Tumblr media
- Robin's friend is a horror movie fan whos fav movie is evil dead (jonathan has a poster of it in his room)
- Robin's parent's car is the " dodge dart" a ref to Dustin's demodog-dart
-robin and her friends make analogies to zombies (like Will- the zombie boy).
- robin faints. And her friend milton says "blink once for yes twice for no". A ref to what Joyce said to Will in s1.
- robin's other friend has a little sister named el-ie who pretends to be a squirrel. A ref to el killing a squirrel in s2. This is also reminiscent of a scene from the st prequel novel ' suspicious minds' where young-kali pretended to be a tiger (the Hawkins school mascot) & a rabbit (Jonathan's hunting story).
- robin reminds me alot of the byers: she is into photography and rock like jonathan and even worked at the movie theatre like jonathan did in the og pilot. They both like David bowie and cook for their families. She also is poor and wears hand-me down clothes from relatives (like Will). She also is into existential philosophers. Which is also similar to jonathan who had a poster of the poet rimbaud in his room.
- robin is almost run over by a car by a bully while riding her bike: similar to Mike, Dustin, and Lucas in s2
- robin says the best accessory for a girl is her middle finger. Cue max giving the middle finger to billy in s2 XD
- robin (before Will dissapears) sees the quarry and gets uncomfortable and thinks of metaphorical monsters
- similar to how billy had baseball references (along with Will). Robin wears a baseball shirt
- her fav flavor of pie is cherry (like alexi and cherry slurpies). She also gets pissed at a guy sipping a cherry flavored drink- similar to hopper in s3 with alexi
- she cuts her hair and she describes it as looking like a lion. El and Will owned lion plushies in s1.
- robin refs Chicago (kali lives there) and NYC (hopper used to live there), and California (where max and billy used to live).
-tammy's fav song is total eclipse of the heart: the song Robin and Steve sang in s3. Tammy would often sing the song in robin and Steve's class.
- they make references to the hellfire club: she describes a time where she dresses like a cross between a nerd and a rebel. And a mom yells at her appearance saying she looks "goddless' . And another of Robin's friend (kate) is told ' what demon is possessing you, kate?" (hinting at the satanic panic). Meanwhile someone describes Mike and his friends as "hellions' as another hint to this. We also see how alot of parents got paranoid and a bit crazy when Will and barb dissappeared- prob foreshadowing the chaos that will happen if more kids dissappear in s4. Along with the satanic panic
-Robin is visiting her friend Kate at her house. Kate wanted to listen to Madonna together. Max and el listened to Madonna at el's.
- Robin's friend (kate) says "I dumped his ass" in reference to her cheating bf. A little nod to the m*leven breakup
- robin (like Will) felt excluded during the summer cause her friends kate and dash (Kate's now ex bf) were always making out . Sound familiar- cough m*leven
- robin annoyed says " makeouts, breakups and declarations of love all in the span of a week". Wow if that ain't a diss to certain pairing we know in s3 XD
- kate (like mike) says to Robin dating the opposite sex is a part of growing up . Which scares Robin (and Will in s3).
- robin has a nightmare of running down the school hallway with short hair (like el in s2 via the upsidedown)
- robin contemplates shaving her head (like el)
- robin says she likes to sometimes dress androgynous . And found a cool suit. Which we saw in s4 bts pics I assume.
- robin watches a music video where there are duplicate indianna joneses (could be a ref to all the billy duplicates in s3?)
- robin says " I stare at the ceiling. The ceiling stares back. I'm stuck and don't know what to do" a ref to the s3 song with robin called "the ceiling is beautiful"
- a character named Sheena reminds me a bit of Will or el . She is very quiet, queercoded, and is often bullied. And she finds mean notes and other things in her locker- placed there by bullies. A bit like how Will found the zombieboy note in his locker. But sheena can be another name for Jane so ...maybe foreshadowing of el/jane being bullied in highscool?
- when robin hears a hom*phobic comment on tv- she describes the anxiety like a ' thundercloud in a big open sky' and a "chill". Which reminds me of the mf being associated with clouds, thunder, and lightning. And the mf liking it cold.
- robin constantly describes the monster or shadow in her life- whether it be her talking about conformity or the problems of consumerism while she is poor (themes of s3).
- robin before realizing she was gay/crushing on tammy just says " I don't get crushes' which reminds me a bit of Will saying " I'm not going to fall in love" (as the lyrics are " love thats new to you, you open up the door')
-robin on her bike hears something (demogorgan) and runs back to her house , locks the door, and calls her friend- and the phone gets electrocuted. The next day Will is said to be missing. (Another Will paralllel).
- i was right about robin being in theatre. So we most likely will see robin in theatre in s4 (she also auditioned with a friend in the book). So for s4 my guess is she may be in the drama club with dustin- cause in s1 he had a drama shirt
- one of her friends is named milton. Since the documentary 'paradise lost' was on the s4 movie list. Its prob a ref to John milton who wrote the fictional 'paradise lost'. The character Sheena may be a ref to the 80s film/movies *where sheena (jane) was psychic
-Robin's gal pal (kate) and Robin eat m&ms and candies together. Kate jokes m&ms and candy bars are 'foods of the gods'. El ate m&ms in s3. They joke how talking about plural gods (instead of 1) would get them in trouble. In case you are unaware- kali (is the name of a Hindu goddess) and el (is the name of a cannanite god) .
-Robin also mentions hopper's car smells like eggos.
- robin tries running away (like el in s2, max in her novel, and jonathan also wrongfully assumed Will ranaway in s1 too).
-robin tries to get a job at Joyce's, than Bob's, and later gets a job where jonathan used to work
-bob newby describes the byers family as his "home" . Similar to how El describes the Hawkins gang as "home".
- robin says she was friends with barb before nancy. Suspiciously right after she says this- barb grabs Robin's hallpass that says ' glitch in the time space continuim. " the teacher who wrote this called robin a "glitch". Which makes me wonder if my did theory is right- but ...that certain powers at be may also alter memories or things so people assume said people have always been around.Mentioning it cause it seemed suspicious.
-not an eastegg but robin can't believe how nice Bob is. And Bob says the byers filled a hole in his life 😭 . She also felt an instant connection with Will and saw alot of herself in him.And asked if Joyce ever thought of moving like everyone suggested . One of the reasons Robin didn't like steve was because Steve never mentioned how Jonathan took innapropriate photos of Nancy. So everyone at school just knew jonathan as the quiet kid who takes pictures. So to everyone it just seemed like- wow you're bullying the quiet kid who's brother is missing and take away the one thing still left in his life that makes him happy. Which is why everyone assumes jonathan beat up steve later. Interesting to know how general Hawkins (not in the loop) viewed things
- the book referenced alot of previously mentioned movies on the s4 list or from prior duffer interviews...along with a few NEW movies ,books, plays, singers, and songs that I have to analyze for another day ...

Something we never talk about, is how when Cali gang arrived to Hawkins, they were shocked and speechless. They did not expect to come home to Hawkins decimated. It wasn’t until Dustin informed El and Will at the Wheelers that Lucas was at the hospital, that they found out the truth.
And so, to insist that the sole reason Mike and El only talked once in those two days after his monologue, was because she was upset over Max’s condition, isn’t accurate. She didn’t even know about it yet.
Why not let us see the aftermath of that grand love confession anyways? Why make it anticlimactic as hell with that two day time jump? Unless something incriminating happened, that would give away the surprise in store for s5, which is said to start off right where s4 ended?
That monologue was supposed to be this romantic love confession, and so why have Will interfere with all of those shots, making them inherently less intimate (as he has done all season)? Why have the lighting create a feeling of uncertainty, when this is supposed to be a certain moment? That’s not how you film an intimate moment, that’s how you film a conflicted one.
Why have the one conversation Mike and El had in those two days, be off-screen and completely unrelated to their romantic feelings? Why make a point to end the season with El looking in Mike and Will’s direction almost knowingly annoyed, with Mike returning his own expression of accepted defeat?
Why not show him going to comfort her and give her reassurance like a partner does bc they’re supposed to be a team? This is the so called main endgame couple fans are vouching for almost violently as being couple goals? But all I’m seeing is Mike instead prioritizing heart to heart #? with Will in these last moments?
Rewatch value wise, foreshadowing wise, what is being prioritized here?
Did we all see the same last shot for that season finale??
S4 cost $35 million per episode. They’re not doing this for shits and giggles. They’re nerds and they believe in the most common technique in storytelling: show don’t tell.
The reality is they had to do it like this for a reason. And they literally told us why: S2EP5 RT 40:37-44:05
Whether or not fans are ready to look ‘behind the curtain’ is up to them.
#byler#reddit rambles#I commented this on Reddit and I’m actually getting upvoted…#also getting downvoted bc it keeps fluctuating#but this is still a first for me…#like that comment was hardcore implying byler endgame is the only thing that makes sense#and no replies??#no one’s got anything to argue against what I’ve said?#like that is unheard of..#it’s getting serious over there…#what I think we could see happen#is people that have been denying byler#who have common sense#are going to start realizing they might in fact be wrong#like I sense that shift happening as we speak#and as we get closer#I think a lot of fans are gonna flip flop and act like they have always felt this way#bc no one likes being wrong least of all humiliated over it#I think a lot of ppl are gonna finally crack and start looking at evidence and go holy shit#and jump ship#not saying hardcore milkvans wont always be present#but I think ppl that tended to side with milkvans on default#without looking too much into the details themselves and just assumed there was no evidence#they’re gonna want to be right once they finally accept it’s the obvious direction the show is going#I also think that even if mods hate byler…#hearing some of these arguments over time has to impact them…#especially seeing the same tired milkvan arguments#they of all people know a shift is happening#now it’s just a matter of them not being homophobic and being willing to look behind the curtain at all#the shift is upon us as we speak

R&J (and WSS, grr) Clown Takes Round ♾ + 7
Another video, another round of clowning. Featuring yet another case of “it’s not a love story!!” and people showing off their lack of musical taste re: WSS.
“It’s A Tragedy, Not A Love Story!!”
Tumblr media
It can be both, Clown OP, and easily too: “Tragic love story.” There, done.
Seriously, though, what is it with this constant whinging? Love in real life can definitely be tragic—and if you take the long-sighted, cynical view, you could even argue that love is inherently tragic. There is no contradiction here, people.
Tumblr media
I, for one, hated it. Wood and Beymer had little chemistry, but at least the ‘61 script and the score and the direction did not undermine their love dramatically as the Kushner script did. The whole behind-the-bleachers meeting scene, and only Maria dancing the Maria cha-cha, among other moments, was criminal. But it also mischaracterized Tony and Maria’s relationship as one of fundamental division. Instead of highlighting the many things they have in common (both the children of immigrants, low-income, light-skinned, Catholic, disliking the gang violence) the new script highlights their differences more.
But yes, the lack of subtitles was definitely not the progressive move they thought they were making. The contrary: It marginalized an international language spoken by literal billions. Great job, Spielsburg and co.
Tumblr media
Yeah, no, we are definitely supposed to invest in their love, and this is baked into the very core of Shakespeare’s text. I have a feeling Shakespeare himself may have realized he had gone too far in shipping the two that hard—there are token attempts at foreshadowing and self-awareness—but honestly, in an artistic sense he had to. If R&J are not really in love or at least passionate enough to risk it everything—if they were just interested in getting laid—then they would have given up way before things got too out of hand. R&J are not inherently rebellious characters—Juliet begins obedient to the point of childish meekness and for all that Romeo moons over his “love” with Rosaline, he does shit all to woo her, needing to be pushed and coaxed to go to a ball where she is attending (!!!). These two would never have gone against their families for just a lay, no way. It’s a plot hole big enough to drive a truck through.
Also, from an audience standpoint: If we don’t believe in R&J’s love, what’s the point? Remove the romance and all that’s left is a work that depicts (and even downright glorifies) internecine violence, patriarchy, and machismo. These Violent Delights pretty much ends up in this nihilistic limbo. It’s morally ugly, to be sure. You absolutely need that core.
Tumblr media
Tell me you have absolutely no ear for music without telling me you have absolutely no ear for music.
“Maria” droll and soppy? “Tonight” droll and soppy? Fucking “Somewhere” droll and soppy???? Hell, even “One Hand, One Heart” is not at all corny, just overly ethereal and classical. Maybe “I Feel Pretty” can be said to be soppy, but that’s just Maria’s solo song.
I grew up on musicals, too, OP. My dad was there when West Side Story was a hit and grew up hearing the songs on the radio. Literally every major singer and orchestra at the time covered at least one song from the musical. “Tonight” (mostly the Quintet lyrics version, though) and “Somewhere” were by far the most popular, done both vocal and instrumental (“Maria” and “Something’s Coming” also got a lot of love). “America” was mostly popular as an instrumental, rarely covered vocally.
So all in all, Tony and Maria’s songs are indeed the best and most powerful songs from the musical. Bernstein did not skimp on those moments. They’re just too few of them, is all, with only three true love duets.
Tumblr media
Tony and Riff did have chemistry, (or it could just be Mike Faist going so damn hard with his acting, he was intense) but Maria and Chino???? Honestly, I can’t even remember Chino all that well. He did have a bigger role, but he and Maria did not look good together, at least.
For my part, I thought Zegler-Elgort did have more personal chemistry than the Wood-Beymer, they just had a worse or at least more awkward script. But de gustibus and all.

ramble time, go
*SLAMS TABLE* THANK YOU ANON LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO
ok, so i've been thinking abt putting some more symbolism and foreshadowing into my au, but i didn't really know how to do that
until i remembered there was supposedly a show that aired around 1983 in fnaf 4, so i made plot for it :]
(i'm just gonna put this under a "keep reading bc this fucker's gonna be l o n g)
just tl;dr: fredbear goes missing, freddy and friends + spring bonnie go out to look for him, find the funtimes, get kidnapped, villain gets revealed, spring bonnie escapes, comes back with new friends and beats main villain's ass
so, the show first started when an indie animation studio asked william and henry to make a kids show based off of their characters, and they gave the go ahead. the show was called "fazbear and friends", and here's kinda the general stuff:
your main character is spring bonnie, who is looking for their lost boyfriend best friend, fredbear. he had been kidnapped not too long ago along with some other people in their village by an unknown villain. they go to the fazbear crew-- freddy, bonnie, chica, and foxy -- for help. they accept bc fredbear is their friend too and they wanna help ppl
so they start heading out, and whenever they think they're a step closer to fredbear, they meet one of the funtimes. the first one they encounter is ballora, a ballerina mother who is looking for her daughter. they next meet funtime foxy and funtime freddy, who are star-crossed lovers who were banished from their village. they then meet circus baby, who at first was hostile towards the group but then saw ballora and calmed down.
now, all of these characters have special abilities:
freddy: an enchanting, really good singing voice. it's able to scare away enemies because they hate positivity (this is a kids' show may i remind you lmao) bonnie: really good at playing guitar. he often accompanies freddy's singing. chica: amazing drummer and also accompanies freddy and bonnie. when she's not doing that, she's making pizza for everyone. she also has a magic rainbow as a pet, but no one knows where it came from foxy: really good storyteller and a cool pirate man with good skills with his sword. he needs work on sailing a ship though fredbear: the ability to communicate with people from far away as well as spirits spring bonnie: the ability to disguise as anyone they want, but they have to do the voice impressions themself (which they're pretty good at) circus baby: can turn her arms into claws to fight people. she can also make ice cream from her stomach ballora: she can dance fight. and she's very flexible and can walk around like a spider funtime freddy: really good magician and can actually use magic to make things appear and reappear. also can make anyone laugh by telling a joke (stand up comedian shit) funtime foxy: very jazzy dance man and can dodge most attacks with ease
they all become somewhat good friends and get along!
anyways, so they all finally stumble upon what seems to be an abandoned palace. they find fredbear inside what seems to be a throne room. fredbear and spring bonnie rekindle, but then all of a sudden, their magic is taken away. fredbear's magic seems to be different as he was able to cuff everyone's hands with a weird magic and he introduces someone he's been working for this entire time: the pink peril.
so pink peril explains that he was the one kidnapping people because he wanted to take all the magic in the world and take it over for himself because evil reasons. and he found out that you can take someone's magic away when they are at their most vulnerable (for example, spring bonnie is most vulnerable around fredbear). he then explains that he had kidnapped fredbear but promised him a small fraction of pink peril's power if he joined him. so fredbear did just that. plus, he wanted to ensure that pink peril didn't hurt spring bonnie or any of the others.
spring bonnie and the rest of the gang are of course hurt, and spring bonnie declares their romantic relationship friendship over. before everyone is locked away so they can get their powers taken away, pink peril notices chica's pet magic rainbow and says something about it being connected to someone called the white rabbit. so he tries taking it away from the gang, but spring bonnie manages to escape the magic binding their arms, takes the rainbow, and escapes. everyone else is cheering them on, and they promise that they'll come back to rescue everyone.
[end of season 1]
now, this is representative of william's first travel through fnaf world, but it's a little different. so william burns in the ffps fire and wakes up in fnaf world. he meets fredbear and is told that if he wants his punishment suspended for a bit, he's gonna have to go and gather all the other souls he burned with. and fredbear also sends the missing children with him so he doesn't try anything funny. so they find kathryn, mike schmidt, fritz smith, charlie, and elizabeth while on their travels. they also meet up with carol and chris bc they were sent by fredbear to help. the group then meets up with fredbear again but they then get transported to a weird dimension where they meet someone who calls himself "king mikah" (who is really king michael but michael decided to be an identity thief for 2.2 seconds). so "king mikah" explains that he had taken over fnaf world to indulge in experiments with remnant and also to give william a "proper punishment", so they all fight, the group succeeds, and "king mikah" escapes and goes into hiding. william then goes and finds that "king mikah" had been building a place for himself, and as he was being chased bc he broke into the place, he found a room full of portals to different dimensions. he jumped into one and was never seen again. unfortunately though, that portal led to the vr game fazbear ent was developing, which starts the rest of act 3
SO now onto season 2 of fazbear and friends! so spring bonnie had escaped pink peril's clutches and comes upon a forest of glowing trees. here, he follows a mysterious figure to someone called the white rabbit. the white rabbit explains that she has been trapped in this realm for years because of an unknown force stripping her of her magic and sealing her there. she then recognizes chica's magic rainbow, and they merge to form the white princess, who is just the white rabbit but her powers have been restored. she gives thanks to spring bonnie by telling them she will help them with whatever they want. so they then explain the stuff with pink peril, and white princess is really sad bc they used to know each other in a positive way :'( but they were also granted some magic to help fight.
as they go on their way to pink peril's palace, they meet up with a refugee from the palace, the marvelous marionette, who gives them shelter to hide from pink peril and plan out their attack. sadly though, they are eventually found by pink peril, and white princess is kidnapped. behind the scenes though, pink peril had brainwashed her into becoming pink peril's own magic rainbow, and now that he has her on his side, he can take over the world.
spring bonnie finds themself in the glowing forest again, but this time they meet the white king, who is white princess's father. spring bonnie notices there's a seal placed on him so he can't escape, but spring bonnie, using the magic white princess had bestowed them, frees the king and they face pink peril once and for all.
they first free the fazbear gang and the funtimes. then, they face the evil magic rainbow. as they face pink peril one-on-one, they use the power of friendship to defeat him, and peace is finally restored to the land. fredbear tries rekindling his and spring bonnie's relationship, but they reject him and he gets put in jail.
[end of season 2/show]
now this one is a bit more complicated to explain. so william and vannie fight and they die together in a fire vannie had caused. they wake up together and face "king mikah" immediately. they are taken to his palace where he explains what he's gonna do to them. vannie then exposes him as michael and not mikah, and he gets mad. william and vannie escape together before anything happens.
as they're running from king michael as far as they can, they meet up with spring bonnie, who helps them on their journey to stop king michael. they explain that they're not working with king michael because they and fredbear had a really bad falling out. spring bonnie didn't want to work with a cruel king who took the land by force, but fredbear ensured they'd have great power. william knew that was familiar, but couldn't put is tongue on it >:/o
then, they meet up with charlie, and she offers them shelter to plan out how to defeat king michael. she and cassidy also had a falling out of their own, but charlie still loved her with all her heart and wanted to save her. but then vannie gets kidnapped and brainwashed into becoming chica's/michael's magic rainbow.
william them stumbles upon the lord scott, who was the old ruler of the land before michael had taken over. he agrees to help william if william can accept his fate of punishment. william accepts and then they go face michael.
they fight for a bit and as michael is about to serve the final blow, vannie comes up behind him and stabs him in the chest, leaving him fatally injured. scott becomes ruler of fnaf world again, everyone's happy, and michael and william get sent to their respective levels to be punished.
WOOOO THAT'S IT THANK YOU IF YOU READ THIS FAR

Killjoys National Anthem Theories
Ok so I’m probably reading WAY too much into this but I have a few theories. Spoilers under the cut, picture heavy.  There’s a few other little things I am really interested to know more about that I didnt mention but there isnt any evidence to support anything else so...
One of the Codes is the Girl’s Mom and Mike Milligram is the Father
This operates under the idea that The Codes are twins. Orginally there was just Code Blue, I cant find any evidence of Red prior to the announcement of National Anthem so I’m assuming they took Code Blue and split her into 2 characters, replacing Monster.
I personally think it’s Blue due to a line she says before “dying.” We don’t know a ton about either of these characters other than the Girl lost her mom during the Analog Wars. We also know that it seems like Blue died at the end of the Analog Wars. Basically I dont think Blue is actually dead, in very rough shape, hell yeah, is this the last we will see of her? No. I think the Phoenix Witch is going to heal her somehow; they mentioned a Witch and thats the only one I think it could be.
Here’s why I think she’s the Girl’s mom. We see the Girl’s mom twice in California, once in issue 5 (Waking the Destorya) and once at the very end of issue 6 (Boom!.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They seem to share some features between the three of them, keeping in mind the difference in coloring and art style the skin tones are fairly similar, hair color of Red and the Mom is quite similar too. Face structure looks kinda similar from a side profile too.
This part is probably a stretch but i’m mentioning it anyways because this is what made me make this idea
Tumblr media
This line kinda struck me and where the idea that Mike is the father comes in. Could this just be something Blue says with out it meaning anything, yeah, but I find it pretty weird that they would just throw around the word “father” like it’s nothing when just prior to this they mention “Mom and Dad” who want to offer a “new peaceful life.”  It could be something or it could be foreshadowing.
“Mom and Dad” and Books on Tape may be related to BL/ind
This one is kind of a stretch with Books on Tape but I am pretty suspicious that I am on to something about “Mom and Dad.”
Tumblr media
Ok so new and peaceful life is what I’m mainly looking at here, it lines up with what BL/Ind wants to do, they want everything to be “normal.” We also have a synopsis of issue three that says,
“After finding their final missing member, the reassembled Killjoys exterminating team have a shootout with an enemy gang and discover a bizarre authoritarian scheme from their corporate adversaries.“
Presumably the corporate adversaries are B.T. Global Marketing who are trying to Recruit Mike.  Theres not a lot to go off of, plus Books on Tape’s whole aesthetic reminds me a LOT of BL/Ind.
Miscellaneous
This is less theory and more so almost def what it is but “Daisy, X-ray, Ladybug” is probably some sort of code like they would use for a sleeper agent.

Still alive, and still anticipating Season 4
First off, let me just say that I’m amazed to still be getting trickles of likes and follows despite not having produced any content in a long time. Since I have a long weekend, and a cold is keeping me from doing much else, I figured I could at least make it up to my followers with a little something.
There’s been a lot of information here and there since Season 3 ended, but most of it is speculative at best. There’s the movie lists the writer’s Twitter account posts every Friday, which @kaypeace21 so thoroughly speculates on. There’s been plot and character leaks. There’s also been teasers, which are the most valid sources of information.
Let’s get the obvious out of the way. Hopper lives. Is anyone surprised? Between the post-credit sequence and Murray’s answering machine message, he had to be alive. The American being anyone else would have seemed like a cheap and forced twist. Still, I’m surprised this information was revealed so soon. Even though I was certain he survived, there was still tension in what his fate was beyond that. To see he’s part of a chain gang is a bit anticlimactic. I suppose we need to wait and see if there’s a sinister purpose for that railroad. Surely someone as involved with the Upside Down as Hopper would be of more interest to the Russians. Are they somehow unaware of that? At any rate, there will still be tension when it comes to if and how he manages to escape back to safety and reunite with El, Joyce, and the others.
The rumored new cast members were to be expected, though I still take such information with a grain of salt. Casting call information is easy enough to believe as real, but character details leaking out I’m more skeptical of. My initial reaction was that it seemed like a lot of new characters. My second reaction was surprise that none of the rumored names started with a B. My third reaction was annoyance at seeing one of them is the school counselor, and I wasn’t even asked to audition. I’d even allow them to give me a B name and everything that goes with it. Hopefully, if it’s true, she’s at least a good counselor, at least by 80s standards.
The first teaser had people discussing a time travel element to the story. This would be neat, and would mean Back to the Future was a nice bit of foreshadowing. If it means getting to see Mike and Will meeting in kindergarten, I’m willing to deal with any time travel cliches. That scene in the shed is still my favorite from any season. Mike’s protection of Will and El is undoubtedly a thorn in the Mind Flayer’s side, and it may decide to prevent Mike and Will from meeting now that it knows how it happened. If they don’t meet, Mike wouldn’t go out looking for him, and thus would never meet and shelter El. I can’t imagine how the Mind Flayer would accomplish such a thing, and how the heroes would then foil it, but it would add a better Terminator flavor than low-rent Arnold did in Season 3. The fanboy in me would love to have Mike and/or Will witness that first day of school, but that’s a bit too fanfiction-y. Having one or both of them needing to ensure they meet and become friends is also a bit too on the nose as a Back to the Future reference.
I’ll be honest. I didn’t really plan this post out like I have most of my others, so forgive me if it’s a letdown. I just felt like typing up my thoughts on everything that’s been found out since I had to stop posting. I’d love to say I’ll post more often going forward, but I can’t promise that. If anyone sends me any messages, though, I will do my best to respond.

Have you seen the trailer... oh my gad. Vent with me. Mileven!!! Max and eleven, poor will??? Who do you think mike was talking to in the voice over?and who do you think hopper was talking to about feeling safe??
I’m so excited and so nervous at the same time! I love that the gang is finally all together in one scene that has literally never happened for more than like a minute. They finally all get to go have fun and Mike and El finally get to be together in a context that isn’t life or death. They’re so soft and so pure and I cannot wait to see Finn and Millie absolutely blow all our expectations out of the water with their performances. I’m worried about thaat Mike clip, to me it indicates we won’t be seeing much of the naive excitable Mike we did in season one which in the context of his character is completely understandable with what he went through last season. All this stuff has made him grow up really fast and as the leader of the group I think he feels obligated to be the most mature and present himself as less vulnerable to protect himself and the rest of the gang. I personally hope he’s talking to Dustin or something and the others can kind of bring him back to being a kid because they have, I think been able to transition back into their childishness a lot easier than he has. I think it’s a trait he shares with El and what makes them so compatible, making themselves appear less vulnerable as a coping mechanism and to protect those around them. I really hope Hopper is talking to Joyce, I know this is a bit of a leap but I think maybe the Byers might be considering moving, considering it was foreshadowed by Bob last season, I think maybe that storyline will conclude with Joyce moving in with Hop instead because it seems Jopper is going to be more of a focus this season. Also one last thing, not to be petty but like I told y’all, I freaking new El and Max would be friends this season I got so many asks last year about it and I freaking called it! I’m so happy this is the direction they’re going with them and we won’t be dealing with pointless drama just to fill time. Overall I am so happy and excited about the new season this whole trailer is everything I wanted and the magic is definitely still there! Also one final note, those outfits are freaking sick! I want all of them, the summer, neon aesthetic of this season is everything!

I felt like the whole RuSsIaN sPiEs thing was a bit much...I was mad Dustin wasn’t with the party, the ending made me mad for obvious reasons, the plot was just doing a lot and honestly I would of rather have seem 7 hours of angst bickering between everyone, ya know? And I feel like them “killing” Hopper was just a cheap way to get a scare/tears from the audience throughout a dull ending. I miss the classic Hawkins Lab and Henclair bickering, with the Halloween/winter vibes tbh
Okay gonna try to address these in order so it’ll be long. Fair warning :P Also ***SPOILER ALERT***
Russian spies - So I didn’t like when the show so much as left Hawkins to focus on the Kali gang of misfits, so never mind taking us all the way to fucking Russia. I mean at least they didn’t have a whole random episode that took place in Russia stuck in the middle of the show?? But yeah it was a bit much. Everyone was predicting it and they made jokes about it in the past which I guess was supposed to be their oh so clever foreshadowing. But yeah it was just a bit much
Dustin - So I liked the Steve and Robin stuff but Dustin and Erica kind of got on my nerves a little. I mean plenty of the characters had nothing to do this season but it was like Dustin had nothing to do but also did the most? It was odd
The ending - Like I said, it just felt cheap to me. Like they had the emotional payoff but forgot to set it up sooo it didn’t pay off. You know what I mean?? And they mentioned the Byers moving away like once and then nothing and then it was like “See ya!!” Like yeah okay thanks. Bye.
Also Hopper isn’t dead. Totally throwing my hat into that ring as soon as possible lol
The vibe - Yeah the summer aspect of it didn’t really mean anything. They just focused so much on the Fourth of July in the promos and then it was all for nothing. They had a carnival that only the parents were at for about ten minutes, they had fireworks, they had the mayor go “HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!” Yeah. Like it could’ve been set any time, anywhere. And it’s not like fall or Halloween was the whole crux of the seasons before, but still
Also it was just sooo awkward. I mean we had Mike, Lucas, Will, El, and Max spend like 85% of the season together and I feel like they didn’t say two words to each other. Literally everyone just stood around and watched while El raised a hand and used her powers. That was aaall they did for most of the show. Idk it was just weird and drove me crazy lmao
