For that reblog game, random question. What was the last movie you have seen?
Last movie?
Hmm, well that's a hard answer...I have been re-watching some nostalgic movies lately. But I would have to say that the Last Movie that I have seen today is...
"Trumpet of The Swan". Because it's honestly a childhood of mine that the book was actually made behind the same guy who did "Charlotte's Web" and "Stuart Little".

Spring Scavenger Hunt 🌼
Thanks for the tag, @agardenandlibrary! Please accept these blurry photos of books I own. (I thought that prompts requiring certain cover images deserved proof!)
🌼 A book that starts with S: Stopping for a Spell by Diana Wynne Jones
🌼 A book with birds on the cover: Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White
🌼 A book with an insect on the cover: Freshwater Macroinvertebrates of Northeastern North America by Peckarsky et al. (is this cheating? maybe a little. did I just happen to have it in the house? yep!)
🌼 A book with flowers on the cover: Heidi by Johanna Spyri
🌼 A book that takes place at Spring time: Gaudy Night by Dorothy L. Sayers (also not fully a spring book, but the spring semester is what always sticks w/ me!)
Tagging: oh hm, maybe @wearethekat and @therefugeofbooks (and anyone else that would like to!)

Watched The Trumpet of the Swan recently, which was one of those cartoons I had on tape. Caught nostalgia with a little dose of cringe. I guess it’s just me getting older and questioning how a wild animal gets accepted as a school student, or feels bad after breaking into a shop and stealing. But it’s a cartoon based on a children’s novel so I can only shrug it off.
A part that struck me was when Louie learned how to write, but he was the only swan who could read, making that effort futile for trying to communicate his feelings to Serena. Also, the father swan juggling his unborn children, oof.
To my surprise I didn’t find any gifs from this film on Tenor. Maybe I should take some later. I also uploaded gifs from The Ugly Duckling (1997) there since it didn’t seem to have any of those either.

Title: The Trumpet of the Swan
Author: E.B. White
Rating: 3 out of 5
Review: I had zero knowledge coming into this of what it was about other than a trumpet playing swan based on the title. Was pleasantly surprised by how delightful it was. Louis and his adventures were quite entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed how each small separate section of his adventures was interwoven into the bigger picture, something that lacked in another novel by White. Thoroughly entertaining and a good time all around although I will say that it did end up dragging out longer than it needed to which is the only reason for the lower rating.

A Trumpeter Swan stretches its mighty neck.
This, largest of North American swans, is about as heavy as a bird can get, and still fly.
They are no longer offcicially endangered, but are still exccedingly rare in most places.
Seeing this large, graceful bird is a real treat.
