😴 Morpheus is a little surprised by it at first, not used to having a partner who constantly likes to be near him.

hello friends. despite my 9 million existing dreamling wips i'm feeling the need to branch out a bit for the sake of my mental variety. what pairing other than dreamling should i write a little something for? could be romantic or platonic

other way of phrasing i guess: any pairings you really want to see more fics for in the fandom?

How I think sandman characters would be like in a highschool au

Death: SUPER KIND, she's very popular, gets along with everyone, including the teachers, straight A student, cares about everyone, does a lot of volunteer work, definitely in a humanitarian club.

Desire: also popular, but for the wrong reasons, causes trouble for everyone, loves spreading rumors and turning people against each other, hangs out with the mean kids, also a straight A student, has made several teachers cry.

Delirium: semi popular, kind, a little odd at times but overall fun to be with, hangs out with the art and theatre kids, absolute prodigy in art, B+ student, whenever she has free time she'll make stuff to give to either her friends, or someone she doesn't know that well but inspired the piece, always seen with either a journal or sketchbook.

Despair: tries to not stand out, always alone, has probably 1 or 2 acquaintances, desire is her only friend really, D- with an occasional C+,

Destiny: not much to say other than he's a loner, great in all subjects but excels in history, always carries an old book, has the best grades out of all his siblings.

Dream: relatively well known, he won't admit it but hob is his only friend, respectful, loves theater but has never been in a play, only sees plays hob is in, straight A student, tutor's hob.

Hob: incredibly popular, hangs out with everyone really, always seen with dream, major theater nerd, great at acting, is always lead in plays, refuses to be in any Shakespeare play, B+ average.

Lucienne: absolute sweetheart, formed a book club and literally welcomes everyone, also tutor's people, also a straight A student, hangs out with the smart kids, she's an amazing person to be around.

Corinthian: just your typical mysterious Wattpad bad boy who rides a motorcycle, is able to make straight guys gay, biggest whore ever, very popular because of his looks, does literally jack shit and still has amazing grades.

Love Made Me Crazy | Sandman Imagine

Summary: When Y/N finds out about Desire’s schemes to defy the King of Dreams she decides to pay Desire a visit. Taking matters into her own hands.

Pairing: Morpheus x Dark! Human Reader

Being the Queen of the Dreaming there was not a single thing you didn’t know in regards to the kingdom and any threats, Lucienne had become a big part of this, since she said become your primary informant, and the rest followed not so long after as you firmly took care of the realm.

Which was a very big thing since you were human. Immortal, yes. But still very much human. Not many people would’ve had the courage to take care of a crumbling realm, but you did, and you were immensely respected for it.

So, when you found out about Desire’s scheme on your husband, you decided to take the matter into your own hands, Desire pulling some strings here and there out of wimp for power was nothing unlikely of her nature, but almost causing the death of an innocent child? That was something unforgivable.

Having gone through several miscarriages, the lives of children would always be a touchy subject for you, but having known Rose Walker’s history was more than enough to make your blood boil. She had gone through hell and all out the irresponsibility of her grandfather who only cared about bringing Morpheus down.

This would end now.

You asked to see Desire in her realm, and out of pure curiosity, she gladly welcomed you with a glass of champagne, her attentions being as flamboyant as the eternal being herself.

“To what do I owe this unexpected pleasure. Queen of Dreams? Could I get you anything that you desire?” You smiled as you took a sip of the champagne and put it aside, to look directly into Desire’s eyes.

“I did not come here to fulfill any sort of social agenda, but there is something I desire more than anything that you could help me with” Desire’s eyes glistened with undeniable mischief, mid sentence, the Lord of Dreams, Morpheus appeared to, in Desire’s realm, but he stood by at the sight of you, what could you possibly desire?

“Ohh… I’m intrigued. Please tell me more” you walked around Desire, placing yourself right behind her, you roughly tugged on her blonde hair, pulling her head back as you forced the blade of the dagger to her neck, drawing just a bit of blood due to the pressure.

“Stay the fuck away from my spouse and our kingdom” Morpheus arched a brow, impressed by the nerve of his lady wife.

“What if I don’t?” Desire muttered softly, making you laugh sinisterly.

“You don’t want to know the wrath of a woman in love, you see… we may be inmortal but we still are very capable of feeling pain, are we not?” At the lack of response, you cut Desire’s cheek slightly, she hissed lightly in pain.

“…yes” she whispered.

“Now, imagine, if Roderick Burgess as an amateur occultist was capable of imprisoning my husband. Do you really wish to know the extends of a Queen?”

“God forbid, of course” Desire said, trying her best to conceal the fear she felt, but you knew better, you could sense the shivers running down her spine, to be honest, it was empowering to know you inflicted such fear.

You freed Desire from your hatred grasp, cleaning the blood from your blade. Desire didn’t dare to take her eyes off you.

“You better behave dear, because next time I come in here I will rip yours skin off with this same blade. Au revoir, my love” you kissed her cheek lightly, making her shiver, you walked away and encountered your husband. Who looked at you very proudly, you smiled, taking your husband’s arm to head back to your realm.

Morpheus felt more at ease, because today he understood any threat that may come his way, you too, would face it, it was comforting to know that you would defend him.

That he had someone as fierce as you by his side at all times.

•Being in a Relationship with Desire•

It should come as no surprise that being with Desire is a handful.

What with their constant scheming and "up to no good" state of being.

They're the type to start filling you in on their devious, naughty plans over morning coffee and not stop until well into cocktail hour.

You knew what you signed up for though and it does please you how willingly they are to share every part of their ideas with you.

And they do fully. They will never lie to you or keep you out of the loop. You're their partner, in every way. From partner in life to partner in crime.

Can you imagine having Desire's full attention upon you? What it feels like to receive true, everlasting love from the anthropomorphic personification of desire?

They embody lust, craving, wanting and attraction so to have all those bewitching traits focused on you is like being put under a spell.

When Desire feels love and lust towards you, which is honestly all they feel besides a dash of trickery, it is an overwhelming experience.

There have been many times where a simple kiss from them brings you to your knees or a mere golden eyed glance has made you nearly faint.

Their voice makes your heart beat nearly out of your chest, their body makes you tremble and brings you the greatest form of pleasure anyone could ever know.

They are entirely devoted to you. At your beck and call. Making it their personal goal to get you anything and everything you could possibly desire.

You are spoiled rotten by them. They even created new rooms and places in the Threshold to suit your tastes, your fancies, your hobbies, etc.

They keep you close to them at all times and when you're within reach, they will be touching you in some way or another.

Softly running their manicured fingers through your hair, absently tracing any bare skin you may be showing, leaving little pecks here and there on your cheeks and neck, if only to mark you with their lipstick.

They like you on their lap, your body touching theirs so that they may see and feel the constant effect they have upon you.

So they can bear witness to the rhythm of your heart, the warmth of your skin, the color of your blush...

They are utterly faithful to you and attentive, knowing your wants and desires even before the thought occurs to you.

They are extremely protective, going as far as to not let you out of their sight unless absolutely necessary.

See, they know that because of how they interfere in their siblings lives that they are not popular amongst the Endless and should the others seek revenge, they know all too well how you are a liability.

Their eternal love for you could make you a target and they will not stand to have you be put in danger.

They will take you anywhere you want to go, in their realm, in the human world, in the universe so long as they are there beside you.

To have Desire's love feels like a never ending enchantment and the "honeymoon phase" never leaves.

Your days are filled with luxury, pleasure and allure.

It almost feels like a trance but with a life this good you hope never to awaken from this magic.

To have won Desire's heart is no mean feat and yet they have given it to you, figuratively and literally.

They are yours and you are forever and ever theirs.

no one asked for this post but i'm procrastinating so anyway here are the artists i think the endless would listen to.

Destiny absolutely listens exclusively to instrumental music, so the only instance where his taste intersects with mine is definitely like. Wulven instrumental songs. I know Saint Hildegard von Bingen composed some shit and based on the vibes of both her and Destiny without having heard her music, that's what he primarily listens to. Most likely his favorite musical artist is a ninth century composer no one has ever heard of.

Death I think listens to all kinds of music, but Cemetery Gates by the Smiths has to be up there. Theoretically should be grim but cheerful and calming instead. She's probably also into folk music, definitely the sort of thing that comes out of Appalachia, but not exclusively. If it's got a good beat, she'll dance to it, that's the vibe.

Dream SAYS his favorite musical artist is a ninth century composer no one has ever heard of, but this is a lie. Early stages Panic! at the Disco. MCR if you want me out on a limb there.

Destruction goes in for modern rock. Not the screamo kind or the particularly angry kind but I think he likes a lot of guitar and drums. And I also think there are a lot of great songs that are just about being lonely and feeling ancient and young simultaneously and he'd really get into those despite not being super coherent with him aesthetically. I feel like such a fucking idiot saying this but yeah I DO think Destruction has listened to every Lorde album at least once for those vibes because nobody does the old-soul bit better than her.

Desire is tricky. I think they listen to primarily alternative stuff, but anything that sounds hungry will do. There's something in my bones telling me to look toward Billie Eilish but that might just be the fact that Mason likes Billie Eilish. I don't know exactly what they like but I do know they absolutely hate mxmtoon. I agree her music's great but it's too mellow for them. Possibly also ballet scores.

Despair is a Nicole Dollanger fan. There's no way around it. You don't listen to Married In Mount Airy without feeling the most divine misery you've ever experienced in your life. Easiest one on the list.

Delirium definitely likes individual songs from random albums. A soundtrack girly definitely but her theme song is "Oh My God" by Ida Maria. Credit to iwillneverleavemyisland on instagram for that idea. She'd love that song "Lobster" too.

Notes: I get this request literally the day after I’m like « maybe I actually am on the spectrum and the jokes my siblings make about me being autistic are more accurate than I thought » 😅

Morpheus:

😴 Morpheus would be super out of date on terminology when you told him about your disorder.

😴 Mental health was barely talked about when he had been imprisoned, let alone something like Autism Spectrum Disorder.

😴 But he was very supportive when you told him, after getting you to explain what it all meant. What your symptoms were and all that

😴 Honestly, Morpheus really understood it. A lot of the things you described feeling were things that he understood, and he immediately got into the routine of helping you to deal with your disorder

😴 You were the most important thing to him, and he would want to make sure you struggled as little as possible.

Desire:

😍 You didn’t really need to tell Desire what you were struggling with. They could see it even without being told.

😍 Still, they still sat you down and asked you to tell them yourself. They wanted to let you know that they wouldn’t speak about it if you didn’t want them to.

😍 But you told them, your love listening to you gently as you told them about the feelings and the struggles you have.

😍 Of course, they were mainly interested in what they could do to make your time easier. Your desires were their top priority

😍 So much of their time and brain space was spent on you, so it came as no surprise they would do anything they could to make your life easy

Lucifer:

😈 Lucifer won’t know about your disorder, but they will definitely pick up on your little quirks and needs

😈 And they’ll attend to those needs in all situations, getting rid of anything or anyone that causes you distress.

😈 But it’s only when they make a teasing comment about those quirks that you tell them that you’re on the Autism Spectrum.

😈 They’ll apologize for their comment, but when you tell them that it’s fine, Lucifer will ask you to explain your disorder a bit more

😈 They want to learn as much as possible about what their love goes through. They’ve always wanted to take care of you as much as possible, and now they know how

Telling Their S/o To Rest

Desire of the Endless

You and Desire been together long enough to know each others bad habits and unfortunately yours was currently becoming overwhelming.

You was lacking more and more sleep and it was a serious problem to desire seeing as it may lead you to not think rational or so.

So Desire finally approached you about it.

"You need to start sleeping better y/n its becoming irritating to see you wasting your sleep for tedious things"

You pout looking up at Desire "im not harming anyone and i do fine with little hours of sleep besides i have coffee to keep me going to"

"No i don't want to see you suffering in silence any longer understand"

You was suffering in silence with headaches and sometimes body aches.

Desire picked you up suddenly, you cling to them and closed your eyes opening them to see you was inside Desire chambers where they laid you down on the bed and placed your head on their chest. You could hear their heart beat steady and that steady thump slowly lulled you to sleep.

They said nothing while you rested but they made sure when you woke up next time you was way better and more focused so much so that you would ask Desire if they can do this until you have a normal sleep pattern again.

You both knew it was a lie you just wanted Desire close to you and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Dr. Ian Wright

Ian walked in on you once again on the computer working.

"You talk about me over working but at least i know when to go to sleep y/n this is becoming to much and i can tell your not really focusing at this point."

They noticed your sleeping schedule was screwed up worse then when they were troubleshooting Ziggy.

"Im fine beside all my work gets done on time plus i have my energy smoothie and such-"

"Love your look tired and your very stubborn what will it take to get you to finally get some sleep or at least go to bed at the same time i do?"

You wanted to ask Ian but you was to nervous to ask. "Um....can you....can you hold me?... maybe i can sleep better knowing your close to me" you said softly looking away and blushing deeply.

Ian chuckles "you could have just ask to cuddle Y/n i wouldn't have minded i love having you close to me."

So thats what you did, you hug Ian and rested your face at the crook of their neck their scent leading you to sleep immediately.

Ian promised to give you proper cuddles until death do you part.

Gren - Cowboy Bebop

You and Gren had a set system to help each other if they become to stubborn and right now you was being very stubborn about you sleeping habits and Gren wasn't having it.

Gren called you over one leg crossed over the other sitting at a table. You smile coming over and your eyes fall to their legs.

"Eyes up here love we need to talk about you and your sleeping habits."

You scoff "nothing is wrong with my sleeping patterns besides im awake now" you complained

"Yes you are up now but don't think i didn't notice you never performed today when you was supposed to ana told me you almost lost your balance and i know your heads been hurting because you ask one of the girls to give you something for your head pain so"

Gren raised a brow and you fold "okay i haven't had the best sleep but love i promise im trying.....okay im not really trying but im fine really"

"No dear im going to change my work hours so that me and you finish at the same time and ill make sure you get the proper rest"

You blush lightly. You would love it if Gren sleeps beside you again so you hoped Ana would agree.

Luckily for you she did and you was able to have Gren beside you kissing you softly and lovingly before watching you pull away turning around and smiling when they pulled you close to their chest resting their head against your own feeling you wrap your leg around one of theirs.

"Night baby" you said softly

"Good night sweetheart"

Do you know what I want (what I NEED)?

A Dreamling Blind Date AU.

We all know Morpheus has a horrible track record when it comes to romance.

So what if his family comes together and decide that obviously he can’t be trusted so they’re gonna help him out and set him up with someone.

Death is probably the one to convince him to actually give it a chance.

They’re of course all disasters because Morpheus is Morpheus ie one of the most awkward beings to ever exist.

1) he’s naturally a closed off guy, he’s got like 3 friends (including his oldest sister) 2) he’s even more closed off when it comes to dates because he has been BURNED by the past 3) he’s uncomfortable from the out set because he didn’t want to do this but he promised his siblings he’d at least try (which in his head amounts to just showing up)

So yeah - total disasters. There are no offers for second dates

The ONLY THING getting him through this whole ordeal is the bartender/waiter that always seems to be working during his dates (they all take place at the White Horse/The New Inn of course)

Hob Gadling is a BLESSING during these times

When Morpheus shows up early Hob helps calm him down and keeps him from walking right back out the door. Hob’s there with a sympathetic ear after the bad date. He maybe-accidentally-totally-on-purpose spills a drink on the rudest person to help end the worst date quickly

Possible ending 1 - Morpheus stops by the pub once he’s run through all his siblings choices, silently lamenting the whole thing starting to wonder if he is doomed to be alone when Hob decides fuck it and throws his own hat in the ring and ask Morpheus out. The first time they ever meet outside of the pub is for their own date.

Possible ending 2 - the final date doesn’t actually go that bad, might even be a moderate success but Morpheus still feels like something isn’t right. Maybe the date points out, or his single brain cell works and be realizes on his own, that he seemed more interested in the man behind the bar than his date. Morpheus decides to take the initiative and ask him out

Possible ending 3 - Death’s choice is the final date and she picks Hob after realizing that whenever Morpheus recaps the dates be always ends up talking more about the bartender than the person he was on the date with

Bonuses

The worst date was definitely Desire’s choice. While a part of them does want Morpheus to find love the younger sibling instinct kicked in and they couldn’t resist the chance to fuck with their older brother.

(They make up for this by offering helpful advice when help the other siblings pick out their choices)

Death was the one to suggest holding all the dates at the White Horse/New Inn

This is post Calliope and Orpheus which is the main reason Morpheus is so reluctant to participate in these dates

Morpheus eventually admits this to Hob who in turn tells him about Eleanor and Robyn.

Please someone write this because I’m terrible about turning my thoughts into actual fics

This is based on “Bee and Puppycat” episode 11 “Bird Friend” for Morpheus x Witch! Y/n

Desire: Little witch, if you’re so upset, I’ll just tell you all his secret-

*Y/n throws bread at Desire*

Y/n: No! Don’t tell me...His reason for isolation is his secret. He’ll tell me if he wants me to know.

*Desire wipes breadcrumbs off him*

Desire: Well, I’ll at least tell you he liked your pastry.

*Morpheus blushes and turns away with a cold face*

*Y/n walks up to Morpheus*

Y/n: Morpheus, you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.

Y/n: I’m just worried that your secrets are causing you to stay in and not go outside and get some sunlight or at least food.

Y/n: I just want you to know there’s nothing you could tell me that would make me change how I feel about you...

Y/n: Because I’m kinda dumb. There that’s my only secret. Now you know everything about me...

Morpheus: That’s not really a secret. You’re only dumb sometimes about some things. Besides...

*Morpheus turns away*

Morpheus: Everyone is dumb in their own way. So that’s not a secret, it’s just a universal truth...

*Y/n smiles*

Y/n: I love you Morpheus, Lord of Dreams.

*Morpheus’s eyes get glossy*

Morpheus: I love you too...But I’ve got you in a worse situation.

Y/n: What?

Morpheus: I’ve been in trouble forever, now that you’re here and all my enemies that were after me are now after us; I didn’t want to tell you...

Morpheus: But now I’m telling you!

Y/N: Oh! Dream it’s okay *hugs Morpheus*

*Morpheus hugs back but a little tighter*
