@nualaofthefaerie tweeted this after we were geeking out yesterday about how much Lukas Gage reminded us of Desire and I joked that he was Desire's child.

Listen I am full on headcanoning this into reality. That Cat King was faaaar too much like Desire for me to ignore it. Huuuuge Desire vibes!

Clearly Desire themself agrees with us!

So what are we thinking? Talk to meeee about this! Who is the other parent? Lukas Gage is a child of the Endless with 9 lives and whole host of magical powers and probably a lot of parental issues twisting him up. Is Desire a good parent? Highly unlikely lol. But you gotta admit it makes for excellent fanfiction. :P

Absolutely incredible take on the story from Desire's POV by Mason Alexander Park/Neil Gaiman.

(The whole interview with multiple cast pairs is incredible btw, great questions and mood by the interviewer.)

[TRANSCRIPT] –because sometimes, reading is ,,, easier

“In my experience Desire is the hero their own story.

One of the first things Neil told me in our earlier meetings about the characer was that: Sandman could very easily be a story that's told from Desire's perspective, and it would probably be a lot more fun, and would probably have a lot more sex in it.

And, that in that version of the story they just keep brushing up against their stuffy older brother who refuses to change, and refuses to acknowledge how important they are to him. And sort of resents and blames them for everything that has gone wrong in his previous— you know, past when it comes to love and things that fall under Desire's realm, when in reality it's very much so on Dream.

So, I think what's fun about the character is because The Sandman is told from his perspective, it's very easy for audiences to interpret Desire as the menacing kind of, fun villain but, for them, they're really just... dealing with familial issues! And... A lot of the reasons they mess with Dream is because they know Dream can handle it?

And Despair is in need of something to do, you know? Despair is the only Endless that has ever died, at this point in the story.

We are meeting these two characters and Desire is trying to bring their sibling along, on some kind of journey whatever that is, in order to keep them alive as well.

So I really tried my darndest to... give people both sides of that character so that people can eventually — if we get to expand all the stories and tell the whole scope of it — they will get to a point where they'll really understand every thing that has happened between Dream and Desire, why we meet them where they are in season one.

But for now it's kinda fun that people just interpret me as these~ little nasty minx”

Hi anon from before I think I got something kinda inspired by my life pretty much so desire x reader where usually reader wears baggy clothing like sweatpants and a hoodie, one day desire comes by the reader's house and sees them all dressed up in a suit looking so fine. Turns out reader has a wedding to attend to so they had to get dressed up, reader ask desire if they liked to go with them as their plus one.

Desire wasn't one to be caught off guard but it was something you managed to do and they loved that you always surprised them.

While they was walking towards your apartment deciding not to slip in literally they knocked twice before doing so.

"Hello.... y/n....oh my you look great love what is the occasion" Desire asked

You chuckle looking down at your nicely pressed suit not used to wearing something so nice and expensive.

Also, Desire was used to seeing their love in comfortable clothing almost all the time so seeing them like that was a nice surprise.

"Well i have to attend my friend's wedding um will you be my plus one Desire." They chuckle "you want me to be your plus one is that wise darling"

"Yes, it means I won't be bored and have a reason to look this nice" they shake their head and agreed.

During the wedding, everyone was talking a bit unfortunately for you your best friend put you in the front so when you both walked in Everyone was gawking at the both of you and for good reason, you both made the perfect pair and both looked stunning.

Desire sat beside you looking at their nails for a moment before looking at you leaning closer to see the game you were playing on your phone.

"Interesting...game what's the point of it?"

"honestly just match colors- oh it's starting" you slip your phone back into your pocket and watch the ceremony unfold and smile at their friends.

of course, you covered your face when Desire was attracting more attention from the bride and groom without trying. "Desire c-cant you turn your sexiness off or something" "haha no i cannot besides it seemed to work on you without trying"

you blush and look away.

after the wedding, in the reception area, everyone was dancing, laughing, and having a good time you were as well seeing as Desire was dancing with you and making it a show for everyone to see.

"mm i knew it was a good idea to bring you to look at how much attention we are getting without trying"

Desire smirks "I'm not sure you like to be in the spotlight much" you shake your head "i don't but I do enjoy it if you're with me."

at the closing, while everyone was cheering for your friends she would throw the bouquet of flowers it was never your intention of catching but of course, Desire does and looks at you smirking to which you blush and simply kiss them lovingly.
