Something I’ve been working on and am finally sharing! Should be posting the rest tomorrow ☺️:
Hob's Adventures: 1640
Quynh doesn't let herself hope, not yet. She glares and asks, "Why?"
"Long story. Let's just say I've been in a similar position and wouldn't wish the same fate on anyone else.
———
Hob is sitting in an alleyway in Liverpool when he hears about the two demonic witches that refuse to die and an iron coffin being made for one of them. It hits too closely with his own witch trial and he's just crazy enough to think he might be able to help. It's not like he has anything better to do, and maybe it will be a good story to tell the stranger next time they meet.

I wish the Old Guard had a better soundtrack.
Like, it’s okay, it’s not BAD, but it could have been much better.

Maybe it's a 'study finds water is wet' type of thought, but
considering it's an action movie whose overall plot is "immortal warriors Fuck Shit Up™️", I think it's significant that in The Old Guard the thing that makes Copley pull red strings through his Murder Conspiracy Board and say "[Merrick] doesn't care what [Andy]'s done with [her immortality]" is the people they save, not the ones they kill
Most of the Conspiracy Board is him circling random newspaper headlines and faces on old photographs to (more or less realistically) follow the immortals' treck through the world and big historical events. Which is, in-canon, not much different than putting portraits from different centuries next to a picture of Keanu Reeves and saying "they look the same, clearly Reeves is an immortal!"
But then there are the connections. A little girl holding Joe's hand in WW1 becoming the youngest (and first) woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize for Medicine (suck it, Kozak). Or the grandchild of a family that Andy saved from [something] helping people escape from the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.
They are warriors. They have fought and been in the midst of countless wars, major or minor, throughout history. They must have killed as many people as they saved... and yet.
It's not them taking out a random warlord or dictator or rabidly hateful politician that has tangible repercussions in history. It's the children and families they get out of war zones, save from accidents, protect from natural disasters. People to whom they give a second chance at life, and grow to change the world (or even just their own world), like a mysterious stranger once changed theirs just by holding out a hand or patching a wound.
I don't know I just think it's particularly neat

Today's flavor of insanity is brought to you by the fact that we only get ONE scene where Joe and Nicky are alone in a room. And it's in a fucking lab where they're being held hostage and Nicky was being tortured in it literally less than 5 minutes ago. And yet all it takes is for Joe to say ONE line (one fucking line. Hell, it's one word) and Nicky laughs unabashed for the ONLY time in the entire movie. He laughs unabashed and he even snorts and he looks more relaxed and open than at any other point, including the bet. Because it's just him and Joe and when it's just him and Joe he can allow himself to let every guard down, which he doesn't do even when he sleeps because he sleeps with a gun, but somehow, in the middle of the enemy's lair, after being tortured, Nicky can allow himself to relax enough to ugly laugh. Because it's just him and Joe and as long as it's just him and Joe he doesn't have to keep himself in check

The Old Guard Timeline
Rounding, my guess at the timeline for our immortals would look something like below. I added the ‘estimated’ notation when specific dates weren’t referenced in the comics or movie. When ages of the immortals at first death isn’t referenced, I default to 30 years old.:
4710 BCE Andy is born. In the comics, Andy states she is 6732, so give or take some years there for publishing and calendar changes.
4680 BCE Andy becomes immortal (estimated)
1362 BCE Quynh is born (estimated)
1332 BCE Quynh becomes immortal and Andy starts dreaming of her.  (estimated) In the comics, Andy states she dreamed of Quynh 1,000 years before meeting Lykon in 332 BCE
1332-332 BCE In the movies: It is insinuated Andy and Quynh are the first to meet. Specific dates aren’t referenced and I’m not as much of a clothing expert to try and guess.
362 BCE Lykon is born (estimated)
332 BCE Lykon becomes immortal and meets Andy at Alexander the Great’s siege of Judea/Gaza
641 CE In the comics: Andy and Quynh meet at Amir bin al-As’s siege of the Byzantine Empire at Alexandria . Lykon isn’t there and they all meet up soon after, though for them soon could be years.
1066 CE Joe is born
1069 CE Nicky is born
1099 CE Joe & Nicky become immortal during the First Crusade
1332-1574 CE Lykon dies. In the comic it states Andy and Lykon traveled together for 2000 years and he died in the renaissance era. In the movie: Joe & Nicky aren’t in the scene where Lykon dies but they talk like they knew him. Given the date of his death, they would have at least dreamed of him.
1575-1650 CE In the Movies: They don’t state exactly when Quynh is lost at sea but widespread witch trials in England occurred between the the late 16th century to the mid 17th century. There are earlier trials in the Middle Ages, though not as common or well documented, and more often for political reasons. The last execution for witchcraft in England was in 1716. In the comics: Quynh is lost at sea, though not in an iron maiden for witchcraft. They are sailing and there is a storm. Joe & Nicky are there but Booker isn’t and a date isn’t specifically mentioned.
1770 CE Booker is born
1812 CE Booker becomes immortal during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia
1994 CE Nile is born
2019 CE Nile becomes immortal (estimated) and meets the gang
*BCE= Before the Common Era, equivalent to BC (Before Christ)
*CE= Common Era, equivalent to AD (Anno Domini meaning ‘the year of our Lord’, colloquially referred to as After Death)

You're a child. An infant. Your mocking is thus infantile. He's not my boyfriend. This man is more to me than you can dream. He's the moon when I'm lost in darkness and warmth when I shiver in cold. And his kiss still thrills me, even after a millennia. His heart overflows with the kindness of which this world is not worth of. I love this man beyond measure and reason. He's not my boyfriend. He's all and he's more.

i keep saying that i'm not really an enemies to lovers fan because oftentimes, the enemies are not true enemies. however, enemies to lovers when done right is exquisite. nicky and joe, for example. actual enemies who killed each other a lot and found one thing binding them together, one single thing in common, which then reframed their perspective on everything. THAT'S enemies to lovers.
