Joe x Nicky ruin game night
Lol saw this video on IG and needed to do it as TOG comic. And continue my long running joke that JoeNicky PDA is done to torture Booker. Enjoy my doodle.
Booker is mad because he was winning and Nicky has decided to make him regret taking all his money.

I wrote the most self-indulgent fic of my life, and created a scenario where Joe and Nile would watch Final Destination.
-
Across the living room, Nile’s planted herself on the couch and started flipping through the channels. It’s been a quiet afternoon all things considered, and Joe takes the opportunity to sketch Nile’s profile – seeking out those fleeting moments she almost manages a smile at the screen. So far, he’s only cataloged the tension she’s holding in.
Since their last mission, they’ve been trying to show her that breaks are vital – that sitting in the living room without anything to do sometimes is better for her than 24-hour training. But the American military is very good at manipulating a person’s sense of normalcy, and grief is an extra portion of stress that can’t be helping her impatience.
They’re waiting for Nicky to come home and start dinner, and Joe has told her several times that doing anything to prep the kitchen without Nicky would be foolish at best. In the last hour, he’s watched her reorganize the couch pillows, drink a glass of water, wash a water glass, and pick up and discard four books before finally settling in front of the tv.
She stops on one particularly loud program while he’s getting up to grab a tea.
"Huh."
-
The fic is on AO3 here

Hi! You reblogged a post from me about the old guard leaving a tag saying that you hoped they make a second movie? Just wanted to let you know the good news that they are currently making a sequel and if I remember right it will be out next year.

netflix is actually ridiculous like the amount of promo shadow and bone is getting is actually insane like there’s a new character poster - posted individually rather than in one multi-post - like every five minutes and they’ve released so many sneak peaks and interviews and had this whole huge premiere that they’re posting every two seconds… and the old guard 2 gets literally nothing
this isnt a jab at shadow and bone (im super excited for the new series!!) just a comparison to show that when netflix gives a shit they actually can advertise their projects they’re just wilfully neglecting TOG. three points to anyone who can guess why based on netflix’s brilliant track record with wlw media
that tudum segment was literal scraps of content, and at a time when they definitely had more content that they just chose not to show, and THEN it doesn’t get released in its own video as basically every other segment was. then they post about TOG in a valentine’s article being like ‘watch this movie before the sequel comes out’. bold of them to assume anyone is even aware of this sequel outside the fandom since they’re literally telling no one about it.
the movie is supposed to come out this year and this is all the info we’ve got. insanely ridiculous. and if it’s pushed back, alright, at least tell us?? genuinely mad about this 24/7 at this point the people behind the making of this film and the community around it deserve better
tldr: netflix’s lack of anything related to the old guard sequel is infuriating and im sad about it

The Old Guard characters: Are they top, switch or bottom?
————————————————————
Andy
Top
Andy is a top 100% Andy's confidence and control in personal moments may come from her many years of experience, strong leadership qualities, and a deep sense of control. Shaped by a long life with challenges, her assertiveness and strong presence could make her play a dominant role.
Nicky
Top
Nicky's strength comes from centuries of shared experiences, showcasing not only physical prowess but also a capacity for comfort, tenderness, and a sense of security. His inclination to take charge reveals a desire to nurture and protect, creating a relationship dynamic that highlights both physical and emotional intimacy.
Nile
Switch (with top preference)
Nile Freeman as a switch with a preference for being a top, draws on her military background, growing confidence, and adaptability. Her leadership qualities and assertiveness from military training make her a natural top. Yet, her openness to new experiences and willingness to learn could lead to switch dynamics, allowing for a flexible exchange of dominant and submissive roles based on her relationships. This portrayal highlights Nile's versatility and strength, both emotionally and physically, during sex.
Joe
Switch (bottom preference)
During sex, Joe's depiction as a switch reflects the complex nature of his character. Rooted in his adaptability, poetic sensibility, and deep emotional connection with his boyfriend (you), Joe seamlessly shifts between dominant and submissive roles.
Booker
Top
During sex, Booker being in control might come from his long life, resilience, and a wish to take charge. Shaped by his choices and wisdom, he takes on a strong role, bringing stability and strength to his relationships.
Merrick
Top
Steven Merrick, depicted as a dominant top, draws on his power, control, and manipulation tendencies. His authoritative demeanor, coupled with a desire for dominance in many areas of his life, might extend into intimate moments. This portrayal emphasizes his need for control and exploitation even in personal relationships.
