Today's accidental social experiment:

I have been having two or three men fighting in my mentions if it is okay to sexually harass me. The first one is the rapey 'male feminist' whose messages I posted earlier. The other guys spotted him sending me these messages under Eden Golan post and rushed to play White Knight, telling him he indeed is a rapist and should get hiss ass beaten. They were trying to bite each others dicks off for a while until the rapey managed to convince the others that I am a terf. Now it looks like they all might start to come to the same conclusion: It is okay to sexually harass a woman if she is a terf.

What we can conclude from this?

1. Men are fully aware of what consent means, what counts as sexual harassment and that you can perpetrate it online. They only pretend not to know when they think the woman in question deserves it.

2. Men hate feminists and women who do not agree with them more than they hate rapists.

3. Men fully think sexually assaulting some women is not as bad as others.

4. Men can not be feminists and do not belong in feminism. If a man had genuine sympathy for women, he would not call himself a feminist but would instead listen to women and understand why women need this space for themselves.

5. It is all men. Yes, even those who do not do the raping themselves.

Pondering Ghosts are Dragons, and just rotating each design in my head I have for them. That is the ghosts we see in the show more than just once or twice lol. Just pondering each of them and potential types and descriptions and how the people of Amity see them, as they’re used to the dragons around, vs say someone from Outside, crossover or no, who are Not used to the maybe slightly eldritch undeath interdimensional dragons around everywhere. 

That is not normal for other people. 

To the Amity Parkers? Boxy is simply a chonky dragon with small boxy wings and covered in blue scales. To people just coming into the city, it’s like seeing a giant komodo dragon when you’re just walking home- not something you exactly want to see and something that is dangerous. 

Kitty’s and Johnny’s weekly relationship tussle? Par for the course really. But to visitors? Two giant wyverns tearing into each other, shimmering greens that could be scales, could be tendrils, and shadows lengthening and thrashing like a living beast all its own. 

And this is just the small dragonlings, not even beginning with larger ones like Pandora and Fright Knight, chill as they may be. 

Outsiders don’t understand that they’re more than just animals. Amity is used to this, but people who have no clue what’s going on? They don’t.

They call the police, the heroes, the government, for help, for answers. And that? That the GIW can use.

when i think about my headcanons for shadow knights, in my mind it's a lot of fun to emphasize the undead part of them, as well as how torturous the maturation process of a newly birthed shadow knight to a fully-realized one could be. the call is an idea i like to ruminate on as well.

laurance talks early on about how being a shadow knight effects his thinking. he hesitates less, and is more inclined to selfish, spiteful thought patterns. i like to think of this being the ebbing tide of the call carefully drawing in and out of the consciousness in increasingly powerful waves. it grows from tiny whispers in the back of a shadow knight's mind into a violent cacophany that boils beneath the skin with terrifying urgency to be let free the longer the knight rejects it.

as for the physical state of being a shadow knight, this is where the emphasis on the necrotic aspects i was talking about comes in. i take a lot of inspiration for my shadow knight headcanons from the novel "hell followed with us" by andrew joseph white. in that book the main character, benji, has been forcibly infected with a disease (referred to as "seraph", the book covers a lot of christian religious themes) that is slowly, over the course of weeks, turning him into a monster. it's essentially like his body is rotting into becoming something new, and the visceral, monstrous imagery and the way his slow evolution from boy to beast is described is very similar to how i picture becoming a shadow knight feels/looks.

here's some relevant excerpts from my copy of the novel for those who haven't read it. the highlighted lines are the parts most accurate to my headcanons of shadow knights (content warning for descriptions of gore):

i kind of like the idea of shadow knights (like laurance) that didn't complete their transformation ritual and/or reject the call and stay in the overworld being punished by their own body with a slower, more agonizing transformation than if they simply accepted their new undeath and killed who they're supposed to in order to reach their full potential.

however it happens though, it's never pretty. a shadow knight's "true" form (when they activate their powers) reeks of sulfur and death, when they grow in size it sounds just as sickening as it looks, spasming limbs and ripping flesh with the deafening noise of crunching bone and tearing ligaments. smoke and something like ichor both pour from their nose and mouth. if irene is light, life, clear water, and cool, solid quartz and marble and gemstones then a servant of shad would, of course, embody the opposite. i suppose by that description you could also draw a comparison between shad/shadow knights and the desolation/the lightless flame from the magnus archives, if anybody is familiar with that show as well.

anyways im rambling, i just needed to word vomit all these ideas since i wanna talk more about my headcanons on here rather than just character analysis posts lmao

A thing I didn't notice about Childe before starting to write him is just how... simple he really is.

I keep writing paragraphs and deleting half of them. He wouldn't say that, he wouldn't think that, he wouldn't bother with that.

Somehow the result isn't simple at all.

I keep stumbling over how he's defined by absence of normal human motivations.

Self-preservation? For all his talk of surviving things he doesn't seem to care. Power over other people? Obviously not interested in that. Others' approval? Doesn't care either.

Everyone else trips over social norms and rules and their own trauma and fears and "common sense" and self-esteem issues while he just goes and... does things. Not bothered by any of that.

Maybe it's that death of self that Narcissenkreuzers describe but any attempt to attach an esoteric meaning to what he does ruins the note of simplicity. It's not death of self. That would be unnecessary complicated too.
