Not sure if you’re familiar with Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time but I feel like Sonic Prime is the animated version of that game like the plot/style doesn’t really fit Sonic games while Crash both stays in that arcade jungle setting AND has the shattered time and space themes which they focus heavily on the recent game. The villains already are a bunch of scientists and I feel like either the team from Crash games or someone specific like Nicholas Cole just slapped Sonic Prime on the script for a Crash Netflix show and edited some characters
Tumblr media
okay i understand the point you’re trying to make, but unfortunately you sent this ask to someone who works in animation and i need to set the record straight here: that is not how TV animation works
first, you’re right that Nicholas Kole worked on both Crash 4 and Sonic Prime! he’s also done work for the Spyro series, some Disney projects, and a bunch of other cool stuff. however, he specializes almost entirely in character design and concept art. this means that he helped develop specific parts of the visual look for Prime REALLY early on, such as designing some of the characters like Knuckles the Dread. however, that was likely the extent of his involvement in the show. character designers and concept artists normally do not edit the script, and often these artists draw their concepts before the script is even finished.
this is all stuff that happens VERY early in a show’s development, so Kole’s work on the show is probably multiple years old by now. and yeah, that jungle art DOES look a bit like the stuff that he did on Crash 4… because that’s just what Kole's art style looks like. he uses bright colors and varied shapes in a really distinct way on EVERY project he works on, which is probably why they hired him on Prime!
but even if that concept art was inspired by Crash, the jungle universe doesn’t even look like the concept art in the final version of the show! because it was concept art!! it was meant to be an exploration in styles, not a definitive look at the final product. this jungle below is a COMPLETELY different look than what was explored in the concept art. it sooooorta looks like the style of Crash 4, but it's FAR different from the initial concepts presented earlier.
Tumblr media
(any person who modeled and painted this environment would ALSO have to be a dedicated Crash fan if they wanted to just turn Sonic Prime into Crash Prime)
and so far, this is completely ignoring the fact that the jungle concept art included in the ask probably isn't even Kole's. it looks very different from his style to me, and as far as i can find no artist has actually been credited for the leaked Prime concept art floating around. Kole has only mentioned his contributions to the character designs on Prime.
this is all a HUGE tanget from the actual argument you're trying to make in this ask, and i apologize for that - but my main point here is that this is a trend i see a lot in online fandoms, where people really like to place blame for issues in media onto one specific person and say "hey it's THIS guy's fault that this show is bad." what a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that these are collaborative art forms. there are so, so many people who worked on Prime, all the way from the first draft of the script to when it was being exported for Netflix, and a lot of these people probably don’t even show up in the credits! if there’s something you don’t like about this show, it’s unfair to single out a specific person to blame because TV shows are not made by one person. they come from a team of artists all working together to try and make something great, not one of the concept artists trying to turn the new sonic show into Crash 5. Nicholas Kole is a single character designer that worked on Prime. he is not solely responsible for an artstyle that you may dislike, because he is not the only person that developed the artstyle. there is no specific person to blame here.
regardless, i can’t really say much about your main point concerning the similarities between Crash 4 and Prime because i don't know as much about Crash series. my instinct is to just go “yeah of course they’re similar, multiverse stories with brightly colored rocks are the big trend in all franchises right now and they’re both 3D platformers from similar eras of gaming that have always featured cartoon talking animals fighting evil scientists, so of course they’ll seem alike.” but hey i mean what do i know
that's all, please know that this isn't meant to be an attack against you or anything! i'm just really used to seeing people blame individual artists and animators for stuff that isn't their fault, and i'm just. kinda tired of it. i will also spare you from my second ramble/disagreement about a sonic game or show in the crash style. because i think that would look fuckin INCREDIBLE

Idia With An Extrovert Boyfriend
{not proof-read}
==================================
💀🤖💀🤖💀🤖💀🤖💀🤖💀🤖💀🤖💀🤖💀
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Tumblr media
When Idia first met you, it was during his first year at NRC…
Ortho had forced him to go to classes so that he could make some friends and meet new faces
When he did, he was placed right next to you, the complete opposite of him
You were bright and cheerful man who was able to quickly make friends just by being yourself
Of course he was scared of you at first because of how up-front and open you were and he fully expected to never talk to or meet you again…
Until Ortho brought him over to the line table Idia sat at
It’s when he started learning more about you. Your likes, dislikes, pet peeves, and general life
Idia honestly really didn’t care but he couldn’t help but listen to you. There was something about you that really pulled him in to you…
Eventually, you both developed a friendship. Idia would actively seek you out whenever he was forced outside and would like to stick close to you whenever he could
Eventually, Idia started developing feelings towards his extroverted friend. He doesn’t know how or why and he immediately tried to push those thoughts away but, no matter how hard he tried, they kept coming back
He let them sit for a while, only to see where they would go, but they only got stronger. It’s not his fault you have a handsome smile, or stylish hair…or a nice personality…..or a nice physique….maybe he is in love…
He didn’t really know how to confess because there were many things that could go wrong
He could stutter and make a fool of himself, he could mess up his words, you could not reciprocate his feelings, and just overall ruin the friendship you both currently have, and he didn’t want that
After a long time of Ortho convincing his brother that your relationship won’t be ruined by him confessing, he decided to do it his own way
He invited you over to Ignihyde in the guise of playing games, especially the type you liked
When you arrived at the gates of Ignihyde, you saw Idia. You were excited to see him but he looked nervous so you asked him what was wrong
He took a long breath in, then out, then confessed his loving feelings towards you. You were shocked. You didn’t think Idia liked you that way. He must have taken your silence as rejection as he looked down and said it was okay if you decided to leave
You quickly shook your head. “No way! I just…didn’t think you liked me back Idia. I love you to!”
Idia honestly couldn’t believe that you loved him as well, but he never regretted confessing to you
Now that he’s a third year, he still can’t believe it
He’s not that great with affection, especially PDA so you often find yourself being the one to initiate things such as hand holding and kissing
There are times where he becomes bold enough to initiate himself but that usually results in him chickening out or simply burning a bright pink
He always invites you over to his room to play games and watch TV as you’re the only person he ever permits to go inside…outside of Ortho
Speaking of Ortho, he thinks of you like an older brother. He’s happy you make Idia happy but also loves how you try to bring out the best in him he already had your wedding planned
Beans day is always when you shine. You’re out on the field tagging people out or getting tagged yourself, but you always make sure to find Idia’s hiding spots just so you can see and flirt with him
Oh boy, when Idia got taken by the ghost bride, you were already barging in and crashing the ceremony
He doesn’t know how you got a bouquet or even a suit but he’s never been so happy to see you in his life
He is literally screaming and cheering in the background for you it’s like you’re at a concert
After the whole ordeal, you immediately take him home for some well deserved rest and cuddling
It will be a cold day in Tartarus when Idia admits how good you looked in a suit—
Starsending was a nightmare for him. Performing in front of others? Asking people for wishes? No sir
But this man is so weak for his boyfriend and little brother…he curses that the most important people in his life are both extroverts
Idia could see you partying and dancing with other students while he did his own thing with Deuce and Trey and, honestly, he couldn’t help the little pink fires that flared from his hair
During Halloween, you’re either watching Creepy Hollow or scaring off Magicam Monsters there is no in between. He will be upset if you haven’t seen his favorite movie but he sees it as his job to enlighten you
Idia loves you so much it makes even the sweetest couple’s teeth ache

What Makes Monster Prom Special? | Love Letter and Review
By Ghost Emoji 👻
Tumblr media
Monster Prom, 2018
In 2018, the first installment in the Monster Prom series exploded onto the internet and made some major waves in its wake. Monster Prom, developed by Barcelona-based studio Beautiful Glitch, is a multiplayer visual novel where you (and up to three other friends) run around school, courting different monster characters in hopes of asking your crush out to the big prom. Since its release, the game has spawned two sequels, with the third one coming soon. Its sequels take various different spins on this core structure, but it always remains a humorous, multiplayer romp that friends gather on a couch, or a Discord call, to laugh and have a good time.
Monster Prom’s creator, Julián Quijano, was inspired by a different game with a very similar gameplay structure called The Yawhg, where rather than kiss hot monsters with your friends, you try to save a town from an impending evil. Monster Prom takes the multiplayer narrative adventure of The Yawhg and runs with it to blend internet humor and pop culture references with the hilarity of a multiplayer dating sim, all the while backed by the beautiful art of Arthur Tien.
To me, the game itself feels less like an actual game I want to play and more like a fun activity or experience to share amongst a group of friends. The game’s stated objective is to successfully ask out one of the game’s several romanceable monsters to the prom, but in truth I’ve never felt too bad about being rejected in the game. Winning doesn’t really matter as much as having fun with some close friends, and honestly, I don’t find myself playing the game alone anyway. For my group, it’s practically mandatory that we voice each of the in game characters. Getting into the characters, the weird scenarios, and making funny voices are what make playing Monster Prom so special to me.
Beyond the excellent writing, characters, and art, I think that is what makes Monster Prom resonate with so many people. It is beloved because it can be shared and experienced communally, which is what differentiates it from other visual novels that usually are much more solitary undertakings. The multiplayer aspect to Monster Prom is essential to its success. So even if your fictional monster crush tossed you into the gutter, you and your friends are still laughing along and are ready to play another round.
Tumblr media
Spooky Academy, the setting of Monster Prom
That being said, the game is not without its faults. I really do wish the game had a save feature, at least as a contingency. It’s a real shame when the power cuts out, your computer crashes, or somebody has to leave early and you aren’t able to just pick up where you left off, especially if you’re already halfway through the game. This issue is exacerbated by the length of the games, which in of itself isn’t a real flaw. The games always offer a short and long mode, but even so, the game can easily take up 40-50 minutes even on the short mode, especially if you and your friends want to voice the characters (which I really recommend). The Monster Prom franchise as a whole isn’t really for everyone either. Humor is inherently subjective, so if you aren’t laughing at the jokes, you won’t be having a good time since comedy takes the front and center of this game.
Those general flaws are prominent throughout each of the games, so if you like one, you’re sure to like the other ones. The third game in the franchise, Monster Road Trip, is the only one that strays from the dating format. While romance takes a back seat, you instead try to balance your different stats, ensuring none of them reach 0. It’s also the only game where you can lose before its conclusion, and the only one where you lose collectively as a team. I’ve played about two or three rounds of Road Trip and that’s not enough for me to make a solid opinion on it, so for now I really recommend the first two games, Monster Prom and Monster Camp. There’s a tremendous amount of content throughout all the games and enough scenarios to ensure you won’t get bored anytime soon.
My advice for those interested in the game is to just grab the game with the cast you prefer, or even try out the free demos available on Steam. The games themselves are relatively cheap, all priced around $12 USD, but the first game goes on sale frequently for dirt cheap. It’s an interesting and exciting game, and I really hope more games like it follow. Multiplayer narrative video games feel like an untapped gold mine of possibility. You frequently see the genre explored naturally in the world of tabletop gaming, so I’m eager to see what the virtual world has in store for bold new storytelling.

MyHouse.Wad: What a fucking trip
Just finished MyHouse.wad. And goddamn, just goddamn. First of all, it is a fucking fantastic game let alone considering it's a free mod, easily on par with the original doom in terms of quality.
My overall impression is that this is a type of game that could ONLY come out as a mod. I mean, can you imagine say the next Call of Duty game where you can beat the whole thing as normal, but if you dig deeper it has a whole separate game exploring an endless house?
That all being said, two main gripes
The final fight was waaay too large/long, and if it was half the size it would be twice as impactful imo.
Ending is somewhat underwhelming, although that's somewhat inevitable since it's not going to straight up tell you what happens.
Oh yeah and 3) The labyrinth.
I love the idea of the labyrinth, however wish it was developed slightly more. I don't want there to be any enemies, but maybe a scrap of story or flavor would've been warmly welcomed. As is it's completely optional and you can't do anything apart from leave. However, it is indeed very unnerving (loved the touch of having the doors you open while inside being louder than average when they close by themselves).
Oh yeah, plus the blood appearing in the airport's bathroom did feel a bit janky/random and somewhat frustrating to trigger.
But in general it's all in the spirit of what it is trying to accomplish, and it absolutely excels in making you feel on edge, like the House is trying to get you to leave while drawing you in further and further.
But, you may be asking, what about the central mystery? What the heck is MyHouse.wad about anyway??
So, I won't rehash the exact wording (you can find that online easily enough), but to put it simply the creator of the mod is allegedly brushing up an old .wad file found in the floppy disc of a deceased childhood friend, and a journal as a word document plus some photos are attached to the mod when you download it.
Reading over the journal, a few odd section stuck out to me. He mentions that an old childhood friend passed away, and yet the very next day he writes "I never imagined that I would be saying goodbye to my friend so soon." Not something you would say about someone you only knew when you were a child, and hadn't been in contact with for years.
He starts working to restore and add things to the .wad he found. Over time, he becomes increasingly obsessed with it and it starts to affect his dreams.
He dreams about a house burning down, and finding a still born baby in the attic, of being hunted and finding refuge in a cave...
Something *very* strange happens on Dec 16. He seems to revert to a childhood persona, writing "it'll be nice to have some time away from the school", despite mentioning his job earlier, and "i'm sure they'll be a lot of fun and there wilL be plenty of laughter and good times". The day after he makes a comment about lack of sleep.
He dreams more. He dreams his reflection winks back at him, that he enters his bathroom mirror and finds comfort in that strange world.
He dreams he is in a car crash, then a plane crash. He survives the car crash. He does not survive the plane crash.
Valentines day: "Happy Valentines day to the only person I ever loved. For a short time, you brought a little happiness to this painful existence called life. I hope we can be together again one day. In the meantime… I’ll keep looking for that other someone who can be the ray of light in my life that you turned out to be."
He mentions how "After 13 years" he finally has the skills to finish the map, despite him mentioning he worked on it first 20 years ago with his childhood friend, according to the original description for the .wad.
He writes how the map is altering code by itself, growing when he's not looking;
"Without my guiding hand, the map doesn’t know what to build. But I can help it. Guide it. It seems to respond to my designs, changing them to match my emotional state. It knows what I’m feeling. It knows how Thomas felt."
He dreams of lying on a beach, safe and content, only to realize it is all fake. He writes about the agony of a heaven, and eternally being tormented by your own anguish, and how lucky his winking self is, to live a mortal life on a real beach, finding happiness in the small things he can control.
He finally publishes the mod, with no further entries apart from how he managed to publish a "safe" version. He won't allow the House to corrupt anyone else.
So, what to make of it all.
First and obviously, he clearly knew his childhood friend a lot more recently than his childhood, and the Valentine's Day strongly supports the fact they were partners - however, I do think they weren't in contact for at least a few years before his friend died. The "13 years ago" comment, plus the fact that items in the mod state "It was not to be" when picked up suggest that they were together for a time after, but then broke up. Both the crash and plane crash suggest something went wrong - maybe they fought, maybe there was an actual physical action - who knows. The airport section of the map further suggests that perhaps one or both of them traveled away from where they grew up? Moreover, the creator's comments about a "mirror version, happy on that other beach" suggests that maybe he made a mistake, and he's tormented knowing in another universe he could have been happy with his partner.
During the Brutalist area of the mod, you find two dogs - one completely harmless, the other a two headed monster that can kill you relatively easily if you aren't careful. But if you kill one, the other dies as well. Similarly, they can never meet each other. That could be a metaphor for their relationship - they couldn't be together, but couldn't bear being apart either.
However, there is of course a far darker possibility. A few items in the mod tell you "I want pop", and "The boy deserves a milkshake." This suggests a father-son relationship of some kind. Indeed, the very first area outside the house itself is a nursery for very young children, suggesting at some point he and his childhood friend adopted a child at some point. However, the fact that the house can burn down at some point, plus the constant dreams of disaster and the stillborn child could point to the fact that the child died somehow, possibly in a violent manner. If this is true, this would explain why they broke up, and why the original creator buried the memory - it was simply too traumatic to think about, until the death of his former partner forced these memories up to the surface, leading to him creating this mod as a coping mechanism. His comments about dealing with his own thoughts for eternity also suggest this - he could not bear to think about what had happened over and over and over again without being able to change anything.
The constant use of mirrors within the mod also tells us how much he wishes things had turned out differently - how he wants to live in a different dimension altogether, where this didn't happen, where he remained with his partner. The fact that if you leave the house without grabbing all the items might suggest they also sold (and potentially demolished) the house itself.
The house that can never leave his mind.

🔞 Melancholy
Tumblr media
         ➥  Jarod x Reader     |     1665     |     Ao3
⚠️🔞 Angst, Reader is an Adult, Reader is not the Hitchhiker, Alcohol Abuse, Smoking, Sexual Content, Gender-Neutral Reader You see a lot of interesting faces working at Palavas. Jarod's face is your favorite though. a/n: I really enjoyed playing Road 96 (it's also on xbox game pass atm). Interacting with Jarod was always heartbreaking and terrifying and I loved every minute.
Tumblr media
You and Joe were one of the rare ones. The only people Jarod could talk to about Lola without his anger flaring up. Anyone else and they’d soon be looking down the barrel of a gun. Maybe it was because he liked you. Maybe it was because you supplied him with alcohol and didn’t ask too many questions.
“Think it’s time to cut you off, Jarod.” Joe said with a sigh as he collected the multitude of glasses surrounding Jarod. All he gets is a grunt in response.
You smile and finish wiping down the bar as Joe takes the glasses back into the kitchen. Jarod was a long-time regular before you started working at Palavas, so it was natural you’d develop a soft spot for him over time, learning tidbits about his life here and there whenever he got wasted enough.
It added fuel to the fire that was your growing crush on the man.
“I’m not drunk enough to get cut off.” Jarod complains, just loud enough for you to hear as he pulls out a cigarette and holds it between his lips, patting the pockets of his jacket in search of matches.
“Smoking’s bad for you.” Your familiarity with Jarod emboldens you to pluck the cigarette from his mouth, a shy smile on your lips.
He growls, “So is drinking.”
“Oh, well, you got me there.” You lean on the bar, nudging the cigarette back between his lips. Your heart races, and you wonder what possessed you to try this now. Something in the back of your mind told you if you didn’t act now, you’d never get a chance to in the future.
“If you need somewhere to crash, I’ve got space in my bed.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“I do.” You reach out and place your hand on top of Jarod’s, grateful when he doesn’t immediately pull away. “I want to be more than just a bartender to you. It’s fine if you don’t have any feelings for me, so if you want this to just be a onetime thing, I’m down.”
His expression gives you nothing to go off of. Jarod had mastered the art of the poker face. You wait to hear what he has to say, but there is only silence. It stretches on for so long; you take it as a no and pull away.
Jarod grabs your wrist.
“All right, but only for tonight. Don’t get any ideas.”
You let out a sigh of relief, though it doesn’t do much to calm your racing heart. Even if he didn’t return your feelings, you needed this, and perhaps he does too. Even if it’s just a different vice for him to overindulge in to avoid confronting his grief.
You nod, and he lets go.
Jarod lingers outside the bar, smoking like a freight train as you and Joe finish cleaning up the bar and lock up the doors.
“All set?” Smoke billows out, and you cough, waving your hand to disperse it. He tosses the cigarette on the ground, snuffing it out with his heel. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say he looked almost upset at making you cough.
“Yeah, I’m all set.”
You follow Jarod out to his taxi, waving as Joe drives away in his own car. It’s just you two now in the empty car park. You linger a bit, unsure where you should sit in the taxi. The backseat, like every other customer? Jarod answers the question for you by holding open the front passenger door, staring at you expectantly.
“Did you want to sit in the back?”
“Oh, no! I wasn’t sure.”
“Then sit in the front, where I can see you.” He taps his finger against the door, waiting. You hustle over and slide into the car, tucking your bag under your legs on the floor. Once you’re settled, he shuts the door and gets in on the other side.
“Where to?” Jarod stares at you as the engine roars to life.
“The Paradise Motel. You know where that is?” You grin, pulling the seatbelt on and locking it in place with a click. Glancing up, you catch him glaring at you with only the barest hint of a smile tugging at one corner of his mouth.
“Of course I do. Wouldn’t be very good at my job if I didn’t.”
The ride to the motel is quiet. No music playing from the radio, only the sound of the engine and your racing heart. The road stretches on for miles ahead, illuminated by the headlights of the taxi and the moon above. You would usually find this soothing, but right now, your insides swirl. This is actually happening. You made a move on Jarod, and he accepted.
You take a deep breath and lean your head against the window, staring out at the flat, and near barren landscape as it passes by. Was Jarod as nervous, as excited as you were?
The little roadside motel comes into view all too soon. The familiar neon sign and its flickering ‘O’ coat the roof in a warm, orange glow. You sit up and pull your bag out from under your legs, setting it on your lap.
“It’s the room at the end.”
“.. Mmh.” Jarod pulls the taxi into a parking spot near your room and turns off the car.
You clamour out and start walking toward your room, not bothering to check, or even wait, for Jarod. You’re excited and wound up, and for some stupid reason, you hope no one sees you bringing a man back to your room. Who would see you out here, anyway? In the middle of nowhere?
Your hands shake as you fish out the room key.
It’s strangely quiet at this hour. You don’t even hear the usual roar of the television from your room neighbor. All you can make out is the sound of Jarod’s footsteps approaching you from behind, then the warmth of his body as he gets into your personal space.
“Need some help?” He asks, leaning in close enough you feel hot breath against your ear. His rough voice sends a shudder down your spine.
“N-No! I got it!”
You squeal and clamp a hand over your ear. He must know what kind of effect he has on you, he’s doing this on purpose. After getting the door open, you toss your bag and keys on the desk and look at Jarod.
The motel door shuts behind him with an audible click, and the quiet tension breaks. You’re pressing against him and he’s pulling you closer, knocking his hat off. He tastes like the alcohol he’d been downing earlier, just enough to cover the taste of ash from his constant smoking.
It’s a frantic, fumbling mess of hands, pulling away clothes and tossing them aside. You fall into bed and Jarod climbs on top. You try to kiss him again, only to feel a pang of hurt when he turns his head away. No.
“Sorry.”
“It’s fine.”
He grunts and the mood shifts. The needy desperation to find relief temporarily halted. It’s an apology from him to you as his hands work their way over your body. It’s almost shocking how gently he prepares you for him, and for a moment, you let yourself believe he doesn’t mean to hurt you physically, or emotionally.
But it won’t last.
He doesn’t want to see your face, so you lie and tell yourself you’re fine with it. Jarod’s carrying too much baggage for this to be sentimental. He refuses to let himself feel anything other than anger and spite. His fingers dig into your hips, the loud, rhythmic creaking of the bed mingling with your moans.
You don’t realise how close he is until he empties inside of you, a strained groan coming from behind you. Guess that’s it then. You huff into the pillow, resolving to finish yourself off in the bathroom when, in a moment of softness, he reaches around to help you finish, sending your body into tremors.
You slump down on the bed, trying to catch your breath. The bed dips as Jarod lays down beside you. “Mind if I stay the night?”
“Mhm.. That’s fine.”
It’s killing you. You want to move closer to his warmth, seeking some emotional comfort, but you stay put, and so does Jarod. He lights up a cigarette, and you close your eyes. Sleep is the only gentle embrace you know that night.
The blaring of your alarm wakes you in the morning. You stare at the space next to you. Instead of waking up to Jarod, you only see a folded piece of paper. Of course he’s gone before you wake. You sit up with a sigh, and read the note. It’s short and to the point.
Sorry.
It’s the morning of the election when you finally see him again, after several long days of no contact. Jarod walks through the doors of the bar, a bouquet in his hand. All eyes are on him. He ignores the attention, walking up to the bar to stand across from you.
You gulp, glancing between his face and the flowers. They’re rough and beaten up. He must’ve plucked them from the side of the road and thrown them into the backseat of his taxi.
“The usual..?” you ask out of habit.
“No.” Jarod sets the bouquet down on the bar and some petals fall onto the countertop. “Just you. If you’re available.”
Heat spreads across your face like wildfire, and your heart hammers in your chest as you pick up the flowers. You don’t know what happened when he disappeared, but there’s no mistaking his intentions this time, and you’re willing to take him as he is; broken, scars and all.
“I am.”
Jarod’s shoulders relax and he slides onto a bar stool, placing his hat down on the counter. It’s the first time you’ve seen him genuinely smile, and finally, finally, relax.

Writer Q&A Tag Game!
Tagged by the cool+radical @cheetoflavoredpasta!
1. What motivates you to write?
I'm in a unique position to answer that with a snippet from Target Practice, because it's practically what keeps me going.
People in things I like always have something to say. Profound, deep things that make me think about how I live my life, or change how I make decisions, or what I do, or even how I think. They don't need big words to move me. I want to say something like that before my life is over. I want someone to hear it, or read it, and their life to change because of me. I want to be the first domino that crashes right through the life of someone who needs it, so they can pass it on to someone, and they might pass it on to two people, and then I'll have been something.  I'll have a whole pile of people that I changed, in a good way.
2. A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)
This comes after a particularly harsh twist that closes out Book 1. I am so proud of what is said here that I can't help but want to share it, though:
“Love?’ she croaked, her voice hoarse from screaming and then saying nothing.
“Huh?” I managed to mutter, confused at that being what she’d taken away.
“That’s what you think you felt for her? Love?”
“Ira, I don’t-”
“Let me tell you something." When she spoke that threatening line, she was up on her feet with the agility years of martial arts had granted her, those strong hands that had saved me from drowning now gripping my shirt with white-knuckle fury. She yanked me close, so close that my eyes couldn’t possibly avoid those hazel irises, smoky in the dusk sun. “You don’t know a fucking thing about what it’s like to love a woman who didn’t birth you, you dense motherfucker. You wanted someone to validate you. Someone to help you believe that you have value, that you matter. You wanted to use her, and who was I to say anything? Doing something physical to a woman without her consent isn’t the only way you can use her, so you can feel bad about what I’m saying all you want, but you can’t pretend I'm wrong. I could see it in your eyes, Swift. I could see it in the way you let her walk behind you, in the way you didn’t make sure she was eating well, in the way you tried to impress her before you really knew her. You didn't care how she was feeling, you just wanted to know how she was feeling about you. And if you had the chance to go through with what you felt for her, maybe act out your little fairy-tale romance, she would have gotten sick of you always wondering how she felt about you, always absorbed in your own impossible fantasy. And you would have had the nerve to tell her she broke your heart when she told you so. That’s all men like you do, before you know any fucking better. You think you’re so special, so unique, that you’re above making a juvenile mistake like that. All we can do is hope you learn something when it does happen, rather than hoping it doesn’t happen at all. All you’d do if I told you was rebel against me, and then end up hurting her anyway. So don't say that shit to me. Don't talk about love. Just don't.”
5. What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)
Definitely dialogue. I don't do much worldbuilding in the way so many of my peers that write fantasy do, and settings end up being the backdrop for the character interactions that really satisfy my writer's itch. I do take pride in the way my prose flows sometimes, I've developed a style I'm quite proud of, and I think I can only get better with time.
6. What do you enjoy most about the Writeblr community?
Everyone seems equally as invested in the art of creation as the results of that passion. It's a unique perspective I really value, as well as it feeling a little more tight-knit than Twitter, where I immigrated from.
7. A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)
I'm gonna cheat here, I couldn't write without a music player, silence is like kryptonite for my flow. I will say, I switched to Obsidian, and it's really helped my focus, since I was using Google Docs before that and the urge to click off to another piece of internet was always high. ... that still happens when I'm doing research, though...
8. A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)
This is such a silly, inconsequential detail, but idk I love it
...There was a boy playing NavBall with another friend of his, pinching his fingers together over the display of his NavWrist and letting the projected ball fly as if out of a catapult, disappearing outside the radius of his unit to land in a projected target on his friend’s.
9. What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?
The bad feelings always go away. Whether it's a battle with impostor syndrome you feel like you can't win, or a fear that your writing will never be noticed, nevermind hated, or a block you can't seem to escape from, it all goes away if you give it time. If you give up, if you ball up that paper or delete that file in an impassioned moment of despair, you don't get that time back. You don't stop caring about it. So take a breath, have a snack, take a walk, grab a shower, and let the bad feelings see themselves out. And then, keep trying 💜
Tagging some new folks I've gotten to know at the writblr-cafe! @the-down-upside-finch @hippiewrites @lexiklecksi, and anyone else who wants to participate, feel free to use this!

Why Devs don’t respond directly to good player feedback in a timely manner, even though we ask for it
It should be well-established that players providing reasonable, well-written feedback about what they (dis)like about a game and why is the best and most actionable way to see real change enacted in the game dev process. I’ve had many productive development conversations with coworkers that came about (and several actually initiated real change behind the scenes) because of useful community feedback. I can’t remember a single instance in my entire career where I’ve ever participated in a serious development conversation brought on because of petitions, boycotts, or review bombs.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, the big problem with the way things work is that, from the outside looking in, the engaged community players get the exact same results from both approaches - radio silence. This happens in no small part because we work on a different time scale than most player expectation. Unless the problem is some kind of literal service-interrupting game-crashing issue, chances are good the players won’t see the results of our work for another three to six months at earliest. For most live service games, we’re often working one or two patches in the future - if the live game is on content patch A, we’re usually testing, fixing bugs and locking up in content patch B for cert/submission while developing new stuff in content patch C. If we receive community feedback and make changes based on that feedback, it will almost certainly go into the patch that’s still in development - patch C. Because most patch deliveries happen every three months, this means that it is often anywhere from three to six months before the community gets to see the results of their feedback in game. The topic du jour of conversation will likely have moved on by that point.
Tumblr media
This assumes that the feedback is for changes that we can make fairly easily, like game balance and adjusting data values. For more resource-intensive requests like asking for better representation for LGBTQIA+ or people of color in the game, I would assume that the community asking for this would want it done right rather than quickly. In order to gather those resources, create the content and validate it, and push it live properly and respectfully, it would take a significant amount of time - especially if we can’t do it all in-house (e.g. if it requires licensor sign-off, voice acting, new animations, etc.). Content created as a result of resource-intensive feedback is likely not to see the light of day for a year at the earliest even if we really want to do it, and even then likely not until the next game (or major expansion) which may be multiple years in the future.
Tumblr media
This unfortunately all looks exactly to the community an awful lot like radio silence. We can’t read the community in on what’s going on behind closed doors - things get cut, designs change for a variety of reasons, goals and targets change. When the players are faced with mostly radio silence no matter what they do, joining a collective action with other players like signing a petition, adding to a review bomb, or declaring participation in a boycott can certainly feel a lot more validating and appealing than writing reasonable feedback into what feels like the void. This is really unfortunate because I can promise you that the reasonable feedback is far, far more useful to us as developers and also far, far more likely to result in actual change than any boycott, review bomb, or petition ever will. I’m not sure there’s a good solution to this problem. If you can think of one (that doesn’t involve us spending significant dev time reading forums instead of developing the game), I’m all ears.

Anxious
Requested by @lolapeirce241
Request - hi, hun I just read the last one you posted so could you maybe do a part two too where the reader maybe starts having separation anxiety with Nat and has panic attacks bc she thinks something going to happen to her like what happened to her mum? It's okay if not but I just think more awareness should be put on separation anxiety in adults thank you.
I was convinced that this was going to be the death of me. Okay, I might be a little dramatic sometimes, but this was different. When my mother passed, I developed separation anxiety. Because I lost her so unexpectedly, my anxiety has latched onto losing people. Currently, Natasha is at an event in another state and my heart rate won’t go down. I have gotten multiple notifications from my watch warning me that my heart rate is too high, however, I can’t find the motivation to get my anxiety medicine on the kitchen counter. I can’t seem to get out of my head long enough to know how much time has passed. whether I’ve been texted, or anything that wasn’t in my thoughts. When I learned that she had to fly, all of the plane crash statistics flew into my head. Even though I know that the chances are small, it doesn’t convince my mind. Images of her plane crashing, her getting kidnapped, her Uber crashing, a fire happening in her hotel, and anything else that can hurt a human being keep flashing in my mind. Even when she goes somewhere else in New York without me, my anxiety goes nuts. I’ve been having a hard time adjusting to this new normal of being utterly unable to do ANYTHING when she is not with me. Natasha wasn’t entirely aware of the extent of my anxiety. She called me before and after her flight, when she got to the hotel, and when she left for the event, but my mind still wouldn’t calm down. Nothing seems to fix it, and I don’t know what to do. This is the first time that she has been out of state since my mother’s passing. I watched the event on television so that I would know when it would most likely be over, however, hours passed and she still didn’t text. After 2 hours of waiting, I finally broke down.
My panic attack didn’t start as one. It started as frantic texting and calling. That shifted into pacing and heavy breathing. That’s when I first called my sister. I was freaking out to her and she offered to come over and comfort me. However, when she got to my apartment, I was rocking in the corner, hyperventilating. My sister rushed over and after getting me calm enough so that I wasn’t going to pass out, she called Natasha. I only heard snippets of my sister’s side of the conversation, however, I wouldn’t want to be Nat on the other side of the phone. After she got off the phone, my sister led me to the couch and sat with me as we watched my comfort show. I laid my head on her shoulder before asking, “Sis? Why didn’t she call?”
“Oh, honey. She said she forgot. She had a few drinks and wasn’t used to texting you so much, so she forgot. She apologized and is on her way here. She got an emergency flight from LA and she went back to the hotel and packed. She should be on her way to LAX.” She replied, rubbing my shoulder. I only nodded, taking in the information. I ended up falling asleep on her shoulder.
I woke up on a chest, the person's arm on my waist. I looked up and saw Natasha playing a game on her phone before she put it down and smiled at me. “Mmm, hi Natty. How are you?”
“I suppose I should be asking you that. How are you feeling? I wanted to apologize as well, but I want to know how you are doing first” Natasha said.
“Well, I’m okay, but you don't need to apologize bub. You didn’t do anything wrong. You just forgot,” I replied.
“Yes, I do. Just because it was on accident, it doesn’t mean that it didn’t hurt you. I’ve been trying to get better at checking in with you and doing what I can to relieve your anxiety. But, I made a mistake last night and I want you to know that I will try to make sure it doesn’t happen again. You have helped me with my mental health and I want to do that for you. So, I got you a couple of things. I know you’re going to say that you don’t need it, but I think you do so I got you things,” Nat said, before reaching over and pulling things from off the floor. She handed me a teddy bear, a bouquet of roses, a box of candy, a bag of chips, and some of my other favorite snacks. I instantly melted. Finally, she pulled one more thing out, “I know that this person is someone you watch a lot on YouTube, and when I saw that they were selling a plushie, I knew you needed one. It came in yesterday and I knew that this was the best time to give it to you.”
I almost cried, “Baby?! You didn’t have to! But I love it! Thank you, my love” I leaned up, kissed her cheek, and hugged her. She pulled me in and gave me a proper kiss.
“I know that you’re still getting used to your anxiety and that we will have ups and downs, but know that I will be with you every step of the way, babe. I love you, and of course when you’re anxious”

oooo, could i get 8, 12, and 39 from the ask game answered?
8. Do they collect anything? If so what and why?
12. Do they have any sense of style? Regardless of the answer do they believe they have a sense of style?
39. Would they ever crash a wedding?
You can absolutely get those ask game questions answered! Like I’ve mentioned I love answering asks because it gets me in the mood for writing!
8. Do they collect anything? If so what and why?
Original Aequitas Members
Alex: I can see her collecting classic novels!
Jasper: He has collected trinkets from every major place he has gone to (which is a lot considering he has super speed). He kept them in his room at the base!
Zoe: She collects cookbooks! The way humans have developed so many foods across different cultures has always fascinated her.
Rowan: I can’t see him collecting anything. It’s not really his thing.
Sidekick Squad
Vesper: They always take something from every mission they go on.
(I don’t know if you’ve watched Young Justice but if you have it would be pretty similar to Kid Flash and his souvenirs!)
Leon: Another one that I can’t see collecting anything. Maybe comics/movies but that would be when he’s a bit older.
Juniper: I can see her collecting something small like cute keychains or silly sunglasses.
Nora: She collects snow-globes. Her grandmother would always give her one whenever she visited so she’s been building her collection since she was a kid.
Sebastian: He collects vinyl records. Of course he would deny it if anyone asked. He has a record player and is just making sure it gets used. Obviously.
12.Do they have any sense of style? Regardless of the answer do they believe they have a sense of style?
Original Aequitas Members
Alex: She has a good sense of style. A solid 9/10.
If you asked her she would say that she has an average/decent sense of style.
Jasper: Average sense of style 6/10. He’s not creative or anything but it’s not bad.
If you asked him though he would brag about having a great sense of style.
Zoe: Zoe’s another one with a good style! I would give her a 7/10. She reads a lot of magazines so she learned from there.
If you asked her she’s another one that would say that her style is decent/average.
Rowan: 5/10. It’s not bad just boring. Black t-shirt, jeans and sometimes a leather jacket.
He think he has a cool sense of style though
Sidekick Squad
Vesper: Depends on the day. Vesper’s outfits switch between 10/10 (looking perfect) and -1000/10 (Why the hell would you put those colors and patterns together?)
They know they have a good sense of style. They just refuse to use it most of the time.
Leon: He’s…average. A solid 6/10. Leon dresses like you would imagine a teen boy would. His usual outfit is a hoodie, t-shirt and jeans.
He would admit to the fact he has a pretty boring sense of style.
Juniper: She definitely has a trendy sense of style! Juni usually picks whatever she feels best in or whatever is popular at the time. A solid 7/10.
She would very heavily argue that she has a great sense of style.
Nora: Another one that’s just kinda average. 6/10. She knows what colors look decent together but she doesn’t really pay attention to what’s popular.
She would say that she has a bad sense of style though
Sebastian: He has a good sense of style and isn’t afraid to rub it in. 7/10 (it’s actually 9/10 but he loses points bc he’s an asshole about it).
39.Would they ever crash a wedding?
Original Aequitas Members
Alex: No. It’s both incredibly disrespectful to both the couple and the guests. If she needs something from the couple then she’ll wait until after the wedding.
Jasper: No. His grandma raised him better than that.
Zoe: Never! Zoe’s a huge romantic and would hate herself forever if she even accidentally ruined someones wedding.
Rowan: Not unless it was like an emergency or something. Or the couple were assholes.
Sidekick Squad
Vesper: Probably. I can see them doing it because they think it would be funny (they’re kinda an asshole if you haven’t noticed).
Leon: Another one who is apart of the “raised better than that squad”. His mother would literally kill him if he even thought about it.
Juniper: No. I can see her thinking about it if the couple were assholes but she’d never actually do it.
Nora: Never. Would literally have a panic attack if she even accidentally slightly messed something at the wedding up.
Sebastian: No. Another one that would think about it if the couple sucked but politeness has been drilled into him.

Let me tell you the story of one of our unfortunate residents who seems to be a SHOP CLERK on the island. Fate has assigned this individual guidance from the WHEEL OF FORTUNE card. But they needn’t worry, their secrets are safe with me.
DOB: march 20th 1997 DEFINING TRAITS: Charismatic, Competitive, Family-Oriented, Impulsive, Reckless, Self-Loathing RESEMBLES: seventeen kim mingyu
YOU ARE PRESENTED WITH A PRISTINE DECK OF TAROT CARDS. TAKE YOUR PICK.
Yejun dreams of floating on air. In his sleep it’s as simple as breathing. He closes his eyes, inhales, and he’s able to kiss the mountaintops. He can travel as far as his eyes can see with a single kick, skirting the coasts of the island with the ease of an agile heron.
Sometimes he’s alone up here, listening to the sounds of the wind and light rain, and when he dips below the skyline, the gasps of shock and awe from onlookers on the ground below.
Tonight he’s accompanied by someone he can’t recognize. A familiar presence with a face he couldn’t place if his life depended on it. He isn’t afraid - he doesn’t even question how this figure has managed to float amongst the clouds like himself. If he could do it, surely others could too. He watches as the figure emerges from the cloak of vapor and mist, hovering upright above him. Choose, it demands, a cluster of cards resting atop its outstretched hand.
Against his better judgment, he takes a single card from the stack.  “Wheel of Fortune? That’s good right?”
Reversed.
“What does it mean?”
He’s met with a beat of silence, the figure dissipating before his eyes like a plume of cigarette smoke. “No, wait - What does it me -“
His question is cut short by a high pitched ringing in his ears. Then the descent begins. The bright sky above gives way to darkness and the crashing of roaring waves. He’s falling. Quickly. He can no longer remember how to float, there’s nothing to catch his fall, and the ground nears closer and closer. He turns to face his fate, eyes welling from the cut of sharp wind. From fear. It always ends like this. He should expect it by now.
He closes his eyes once more before jolting awake.
THE CARD FLUTTERS TO YOUR FEET. WHO WERE YOU BEFORE THIS STORY BEGAN?
Kwak Yejun is a creature of habit. He wakes up before dawn, wipes the sleep from his eyes, and dons his usual uniform of swim shorts, t-shirt, and the same pair of sneakers he’s worn since highschool. He makes the trek through dangam-eup, goofing off with the neighborhood kids and snagging a quick bite from the market owners who watched him grow up, to a small building near the pier. He has to jiggle the lock once or twice, struggle with the metal shade a bit to let in the morning sun. His days are simple.
The unnamed shack has been in his family for what feels like generations, supporting his parents and their parents. One day his own children - his mother hopes. Yejun spends his days manning the window, restocking snacks, and mindlessly playing games on his phone. As the years pass, he remains frozen in time. Although his features may have changed, he still feels like that mouthy kid, watching the store after school just long enough for his friends to leave tutoring sessions and head to the beach.
The island continues to evolve before his eyes with new developments and new faces, while he struggles to hold on to the life he’s always known.

INSURANCE SETTLEMENT OFFER TOO LOW? YOU HAVE OPTIONS
INSURANCE SETTLEMENT OFFER TOO LOW? YOU HAVE OPTIONS
Nobody likes to start off first thing Monday morning with a car crash. Unfortunately, it happens. You could be sitting at a traffic light, patiently waiting for it to change to green, when suddenly a car comes from behind and rear-ends you. Now, you not only have to miss work, but you have to go to the hospital and fix your car. Monday just became very expensive. But, it was the other driver’s fault, so surely his insurance will cover all the damage. What if it doesn’t? What if the insurance company offers a ridiculously low settlement that does not even come close to covering your losses?
This is the game that insurance companies play. They are in the business of charging their customs high premiums and retaining as much of that money as possible. The last thing the insurer wants to do is pay out the full cost of a car wreck. Fortunately, when the insurance company comes in low, you do not have to accept it. Read further to find out more about reaching a fair settlement with an insurer after a motor vehicle collision.
EXAMINE THE OFFER
Insurance companies base their settlement offers on the specifics of each case. If the insurer does not have all the information that pertains to your situation, that may lead to a low initial settlement offer. For example, the insurance company may not have all the information that is relevant to your injuries or perhaps the adjuster they sent out to examine your vehicle only looked at the body damage and did not account for damage under the hood. Or, perhaps the insurer believes you share a substantial amount of fault for the wreck. In many cases, a low settlement is just a negotiating tactic.
RESPOND IN WRITING
After the insurer offers you a low settlement, respond in writing. By doing this, you can lay out a well-developed argument to support your claim and request the specifics for the insurer’s initial offer. If it is simply a matter of insufficient evidence, then perhaps all you will need to do is provide the appropriate documentation from your doctor and the car repair shop. A written response also gives you the opportunity to address any mental or emotional distress you are suffering as a side effect of the wreck.
COUNTER THEIR OFFER
When the insurance company offers a low settlement, you do not simply have to accept or reject it. You can actually make a counteroffer with an amount that you think is fair. The insurance company may then submit their own counter. This type of interaction can actually carry on for some time until both you and the insurer agree on a settlement.
TAKE LEGAL ACTION
If negotiation does not work and you and the insurer cannot come to an agreement, you have the option to take legal action. You can file a lawsuit in court for your injuries. Taking such an action may prompt the insurer to offer a more reasonable settlement instead of risking a judgment in your favor. On the other hand, you open yourself to the risk that you could lose the case.
If you have been the victim of a negligent driver and the car insurance company is not offering fair compensation for the damages, you still have options. You do not have to take the first, second or even third offer the insurance company makes if it does not cover your losses.

What Are Sniper Bots and How Do They Work?
How cool would it be to buy new coins before their price goes up!
Tumblr media
Imagine this: a new coin just appeared on the market, and in a few seconds its price went up by 10%. A few minutes later, the value doubled. The biggest money is made by those who are buying at once. So how do you do that? Maybe you need a fast Internet connection or a powerful computer? No, that will not help! Destroying the refresh button? Definitely not an option! Sniper bots are the solution! Dex Sniper is the market leader in crypto sniper bots which allows you to buy newly added tokens up to 1 second from the time of the listing!
What Are Sniper Bots?
Imagine an auction where something precious is being sold. You've already decided on the maximum price you're willing to pay. The only problem is that there are a lot of bidders, and the closer you get to the end, the higher the bid grows. It takes a long time to participate in such an auction. But what if you want to participate in several or several dozen such events at the same time? That's possible with a front run sniper bot.
It works very cleverly:
First, you specify your maximum bid amount for an item;
The bot takes part in the bidding process, raising the price to the level you specify;
If the price exceeds the maximum bid amount you set, the bot stops bidding.
In simple words, the bot works on your behalf and buys auction items at a bargain price.
How Do Crypto Sniper Bots Make Money?
Crypto sniper bot is a trading bot whose job is to buy newly added tokens. The faster the better, because coins often increase in value in a few seconds or minutes after being listed.
In this case, manual trading is practically impossible. You can't just sit at your computer all the time and wait for a new coin to show up! But a crypto sniper bot can! Here is how it works:
Tumblr media
Sounds pretty simple, doesn’t it?
While it does sound quite obvious, in reality, there are many presale sniper bots that have already overcrowded the market. Some of them are slow and unreliable, some are decent. But what the overwhelming majority of them lack is speed. In other words, they cannot check the price as quickly as needed to make a profit.
Here comes the best solution available on the market - Dex Sniper.
What Is Dex Sniper, and Why Is It a Game Changer?
Dex Sniper is a sniper bot that is designed for both beginning and professional traders. It’s easy to use, fast as a Lambo, and doesn’t require any coding skills.
Speed. The most important advantage of Dex Sniper is that it allows you to buy newly added tokens at truly amazing speeds - up to 1 second from the time they are listed. When you trade manually, you connect the exchange via a mobile app or web interface. Even if the internet connection is fast, your device may go down, you may not be online the moment a token is listed.
Trade automation. You no longer have to waste time tracking token listings. It's one thing when you know that a certain token will be available to traders soon, and quite another when the listing date is unknown. Dex Sniper is awake 24/7.
Cross-platform solution. You can use it on your Windows-based laptop, Mac, or Linux-based device.
Crash protection. With Dex Sniper, you are always ready for the sale. When trading manually, you can forget about increasing the percentage of the slip. What a pain it is to miss buying the token knowing it would make you a profit!
Constantly updated. The world of crypto trading is evolving every day. The BSC sniping bot that was profitable yesterday may no longer work today. The development team behind Dex Sniper is constantly taking care to make sure it works as needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it difficult to install the bot?
Not at all, the majority of Dex Sniper users are ordinary users who have no understanding of programming, coding and other technical things.
Do I need a crypto wallet?
Yes, you do. Without a wallet you wouldn’t be able to receive tokens sent by the bot. If you already own a MetaMask wallet, it’s enough. Another option is Trustwallet. But MetaMask is better since it gives you more flexibility and more control over your tokens.
Do I need a VPS?
No, you don’t. What you do need is a Node for the blockchain you’re about to use your bot on. The great thing is we provide them for every one of our customers.
Is it legit?
It’s been calculated that 38% of crypto users trade with bots. On top of that, nobody actually cares how you buy and sell tokens. It’s up to you to either spend long hours sitting in front of your computer or set up Dex Sniper and do other things.
Is there any guarantee that I will be earning with Dex Sniper?
Dex Sniper is a piece of software. It is designed to do what you tell it to do. There is no guarantee that the price of your chosen token will go up or down as you think it will.
Why Dex Sniper?
It’s fast, reliable, constantly updated and designed to make you a profit without any additional effort. On top of that, it comes with some unique features. For instance, it is integrated with a front run function and anti rug which gives the bot the possibility to sell everything before the coin owner decides to run away with the money.
Conclusion
Crypto trading is a great way to make money. New tokens appear regularly. This means that we constantly have the opportunity to earn from the growth of their prices in the initial phase. This kind of trading is beyond human control, we just can't react that fast, even if we spend all our time at the computer. Leaving this task to a bot is the right decision. Dex Sniper works on you and for you. As of fall 2022, it is the best solution on the market. You can appreciate it by trying how it works. So don't put it off, start testing Dex Sniper right now!Website: https://www.dexsnipebot.com/

Il 2 sturmovik battle of stalingrad hud wind angle
Tumblr media
I have a habit of not even looking at my instruments and just flying by pure VFR. That's going to take more than a little practice. Getting full situational awareness including two planes, their altitudes, heading, speed, etc. At the moment, it's a challenge just spotting the enemy plane and figuring out what direction he's heading. Yes, it's the recognizing that takes me a while to learn. Massive respect for the actual real life pilots who really did shoot down enemy targets and perform heroic deeds all while putting their lives on the line. How much training did they receive? How did they even know what to do? I even crashed the thing trying to land. To put a 20-something kid in these machines with no HUD telling him where the enemy was (or that he even was the enemy) and being put up in the sky with little more than his intuition feels nearly impossible. I honestly don't know how people did this in real life back in WWII. This is definitely something that is going to take some getting used to.
Tumblr media
Hooray, enemy destroyed! Too bad you died in the explosion. I suppose this comes from the enemy having full situational awareness as well as knowledge on the limits of the aircraft and how to actually fly it. It always felt like I simply couldn't turn fast enough to engage but the enemy could. It was difficult enough to even tell what his trajectory was, nevermind get myself in a position to exploit it.ĭidn't stop him from getting a bead on me though. Like the modern Redbull Extra 300 aerobatics plane, to be specific.įurther, it always seemed like when I finally did approach my target, all the angles were off and I couldn't line up the gun path with his trajectory.
Tumblr media
I guess these planes didn't perform how I thought. Rather, it makes you feel like your plane just folded in half and has decided to go the opposite direction you intended, often plummeting toward the ground uncontrollably. Pulling up hard on the stick doesn't send you into a tight path around your lateral axis. One thing that was clear quickly was that the plane doesn't just do anything I want it to do. And the "Novice" 109 which became my opponent showed me that I really had no idea how WWII dogfighting worked. My plane of choice was the Spitfire because of course it was. Also, I've flown a number of flight sims in the past and never been a bad pilot. I've been a big fan of such things for decades, so I figured I had the principles down for the most part. Not so much.Īfter toodling around a bit, I decided maybe I should try aerial combat. As a bonus, there were hostile convoys on the roads which take pot shots at you. I was looking for a way to just practice flying, so I found in the quick missions that you can do this rather easily. GOLF WITH YOUR FRIENDS CRASHING PS4
Read our review of Golf Club: Wasteland Dangerous Golf So, if you’re after a golf game that’s a little bit different, be sure to give Golf Club: Wasteland a try. And unlike most sport games, it has a narrative that plays out via a radio station as you play. Sometimes you’ll need to hit switches with your ball, for example, or precisely aim it into pipes. With the tricky nature of its holes, Golf Club: Wasteland is almost like a puzzle game. Bump the difficulty up, however, and you’ll have to complete each hole in a certain number of shots. On Golf Club: Wasteland‘s easiest settings it’s quite a stress-free affair that you can take at your own pace. You aim, set your power, then swing a club to hit your ball ever closer to a hole. What do they do for a bit of fun? Return to Earth, of course, and use it for what is essentially crazy golf.Īs you can imagine, with that premise, Golf Club: Wasteland isn’t a realistic depiction of the sport. And, having fled Earth, those who do remain are mostly the ultra-rich. Imagine a world where human life has been pretty much eradicated. So, if you love golf – and having fun – consider this an essential purchase. But when a game’s this fun to play, you won’t mind spending several hours perfecting your swing. Like most golf games, it’s all about practice. And its control scheme is fairly easy to get to grips with, while still being complex enough to pull off the fanciest of shots. It’s filled with humour that’ll appeal to most age groups, for one. But its cartoon style veneer makes it much more accessible than some of the other games you’ll find on this list. Sure, underneath it all it’s a solid game of golf with plenty of courses to play through. We love it, partly because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. In fact it’s the best if you want an authentic golfing experience.Ī classic PlayStation franchise that was rebooted in 2017, Everybody’s Golf is definitely one of the best golf games on PS4. With in-depth mechanics and lofty tutorials to show you the ropes, PGA Tour 2K21 is undoubtedly one of the best golf games on PS4. In career mode, you’ll take them from zero to hero as you climb the ranks by playing tournaments and claiming victory. Whatever you do, however, you’ll have to do as your own custom created character. You can take part in a sizeable career, for example, play some holes in quickplay, or even take the action online. And while The Golf Club was good, PGA Tour 2K21 is a heck of a lot better.Īs you’d expect, there are lots of different modes to engage with. It’s been developed by HB Studios, the team that worked on The Golf Club series. In 2020 2K Games acquired the PGA Tour licence, and so PGA Tour 2K21 is the first entry in what we expect to be a new franchise. It won’t cost you anything extra, but we’ll get a small slice of the purchase. Want to support GameSpew? If you decide to buy any of the games on this list, please consider using our affiliate links, included below each entry. Chances are they’ll look and play better, too.
GOLF WITH YOUR FRIENDS CRASHING PS4
We’ve played all of these and can confirm that they provide either an authentic recreation of the sport, or simply a jolly good time.Īnd remember, while these are all PS4 games, they’re also playable on PS5 if you have one thanks to backwards compatibility. We’ve assembled a short list of the best golf games on PS4 for your convenience. So, if golf games are your thing and you have a PS4, you might be wondering which ones you should play? Hopefully we can help. It’s therapeutic, challenging, and somewhat fun. It’s just you, your controller, and the will to hit your ball as far as it will go with a swing of your stick. You don’t have to lug around a caddy filled with clubs. There’s no having to worry about fetching your ball from sand pits and ponds. However boring the real game may seem, playing golf on our PS4s is way more exciting. And the good news is, there are plenty of golf games available on PS4. We may not be likely to be spotted down on the local green on the weekend, but when it comes to golf games on our consoles, it’s a different matter altogether. Let’s face it it’s more associated with old men in business suits than it is with us young and trendy folk.
