Hello! Just a heads up, the post about the cat medical bill from user 'march-pls-be-good' is a scam. There's a post about this scammer and how to identify their scams here, and a detailed post on general scam red flags here, if you wanna learn. This particular scammer spreads their posts in two ways: first, by sending asks to totally random people, telling them not to publish those asks so they can hide how much they're spamming people, and second, recently, they started @'ing random users to get boosted.
The biggest giveaways for this scammer are: 1) their oldest post is only a few hours old. 2) They're using USD $ in their post, but if you hover over the paypal link, it says 'country=PH', which is Philippines, where they use Philippine pesos 3) They ask people to send money using paypal 'friends and family', which doesn't have protections for people if they're scammed
Their other active blogs are currently lxve and imse7en. Notice the similarities!
You can report the scam post through 'report something else', 'unlawful uses or content', then 'phishing!' Depending on what you're ok with, you can delete the scam post, or edit it to have 'this is a scam' in big letters in your reblog and tags, so people who see the original post see your warning in the notes. I'm sending this message to as many people as I can to warn them and share some tips :) Have a nice day!
Hello! Thanks for the heads up!
Actually I was kinda skeptical about it when I first saw it, because of the name of the blog and other stuff. But since I saw the post already had several notes, none of which talked about scam (and tbh I had to go to work when I got the ask fiajfja), I posted it (kinda because I love cats way too much and also WTF is wrong with people lying about these??).
Maybe it makes it worse lol that I had doubts and still posted, part of me wanted to do it after work... but sentiments. Anyway what shone some doubts to me too was that there was no vet bill to prove what they were saying. I hope no one donated because I rebloggued it... ugh. I'll report them, thanks for the heads up. Tbh I got quite a few asks like this, I never reblog their stuff, this time I got gotten uhhhh.
I hate some people, really...
Thanks for the heads up tho! As a non user of paypal and also non American there are things you said I didn't even know! So I hope it'll help prevent shit like this from spreading on this app. It'll help me at least, that's why I'm posting your message publicly. Thx again!

Tumblr media
warnings: 18+!! smut, 'enemies' to lovers, strap (r!receiving), mean!ellie kinda??, rough!ellie, reader is also mean at first !!
writers note: i love receiving requests like yall are so creative and idkk its just easier to write a req than my own idea🫣🫣 also this turned out to be longer than i expected (my longest fanfic yet!) but even the anon said it seems long so ig thats how its supposed to be🙏
Tumblr media
It was another PE lesson you hate so much. It wouldn't be that bad, if not the fact that you're in the same team with Ellie. Ellie fucking Williams.
She would get mad at you for every little mistake you made. You absolutely hated her.
You had to admit she was... pretty. Especially when she had the mix of mad and stern expression on her face. Sometimes you provoked her just to watch her insult every little thing about you she could but you didn't mind. You just sat there with a smirk, sometimes making a mockingly worried face to piss her off even more. Sometimes. Sometimes you weren't in mood for that and you'd actually get offended. Sometimes even hurt. But you couldn't really blame her, that's how it works.
This day, you were literally rescuing your team. Every point was because of you. Every 'that was close' situation was only 'close' because of you. But your luck, or whatever made you win, had to run out eventually. You missed one time.
"What happened? Got holes in your hands? Tired? Not so good anymore?" Ellie asked you with that mocking tone.
Everyone ignored your interaction - they knew what's starting and they didn't want to get involved in that.
"I've done pretty much everything for this team, and the only thing you do is complain, Williams." You said and you could feel your temper rising.
Ellie didn't hesitate to respond to that.
"Well at least I don't do a half-ass job like you. You're really so full of yourself, aren't you? Why not just give up and let someone actually capable take over, huh?" She barked sarcastically.
The other team members didn't even try to hide their excitement now, they just sat back and enjoyed the show, even the teacher was having a hard time holding back the grin on his face whenever Ellie came up with a new insult.
And now, there was no going back.
"Oh, I'm sorry Williams, did your precious little ego get hurt from that? Are my skills threatening your so-called pride? Well if you don't like it, suck it up." You shot back.
If this kept up, you were going to end up with another detention for sure. Everyone knew that you two were like oil and water, but nobody really expected you to get into a shouting match over PE class. Especially, not this early in the morning.
The teacher finally decided that it was enough trouble, and he stepped between the two.
"Ladies, settle down! If you can't figure out how to work well together in a simple PE session, then you'll need more than one detention to figure it out. Go sit down." He ordered, and you two sat down, next to each other.
As if following a silent order, all the other students just went about their business and pretended like nothing had happened.
"You should learn how to shut up sometimes." You said quietly, nervously playing with your fingers.
"You should stop thinking you're so damn important." She snapped back, completely ignoring your advice as she stared at you with the same icy cold look as before.
The teacher came over to the two of you and handed you a form, which you quickly read over. "Maybe it's rough but that's what you both deserve after arguing in every single class. And if that won't help... I don't know what will. Someone will check in on you from time to time, so don't even think about anything, understood?."
In short, the file was saying you'll have spent a month after school doing little school works, like cleaning the gym, with her. It was a frequent way of dealing with problematic students in your school.
You weren't even surprised - the teacher was right. Your little bickers were the main gossip topic and there was no way they'll go unnoticed.
Still, you couldn't help but frown.
"You've got to be kidding me." You muttered under your breath. Spending a month after school doing odd jobs with Ellie was literally the last thing you wanted to do. You knew there was some sort of punishment coming, but this was extreme.
Ellie overheard your muttering, and she rolled her eyes. "It's just a bunch of cleaning, what's wrong, can't handle a little hard work?" She mocked.
"And why are you so happy? Maybe you wished to spend more time with me?" You chuckled, finally looking up at her.
Ellie seemed caught off guard, but she quickly recomposed herself. "Who said I was happy? Sure, I'll love to see you grovel and scrub floors while I sit back and relax." She replied in a sarcastic tone.
You decided to press your advantage, and give Ellie a dose of her own medicine. "Aww, is someone actually admitting that they like spending time with me? I'm so honored." You said with an overdramatized fake fluster.
Ellie didn't even let you finish your sentence before she cut in with her usual sarcastic tone. "Pfff, don't get so ahead of yourself there." She chided. Even then, you could hear some slight annoyance in her voice.
Ellie may have been a jerk, but there was something about her you couldn't help but like. You couldn't explain it, but you liked this banter between the two of you.
Oh, who were you trying to lie to? You liked her. You were just good at hiding it.
You were just about to open your mouth to respond to Ellie's last snarky remark, when you were cut off again.
"Enough."
You both turned to see the teacher staring at the two of you. He sounded more annoyed than before, and you decided it was better to stop your feud before you got in any more trouble.
"You two are already going to spend a month together doing odd jobs. The last thing we need is for you to add another week to that sentence." He warned.
You wanted to say something back, but you decided to shut up before the teacher had to make it worse. You and Ellie just looked at each other for a couple of seconds, before you rolled your eyes and got up from your seat.
After a few more classes, the time of  fulfilling your penalty came. You sat down at the gym benches, waiting for Ellie. You waited, and waited, but no one came.
Ellie was faster than you with getting up. She smirked and said; "Well it's not like you actually had anything worth saying anyway, so it's easier for you." With that parting jab, she walked out of the gym.
Tumblr media
You expected something like that from her, so you stood up and a few minutes later you were standing in front of her room. You knocked to the door, patiently waiting for her to answer.
After a few moments, you heard footsteps, before the door finally opened. Ellie stood in front of you, her face as annoyed as ever.
"What do you want?" she grumbled, clearly not in the mood to be bothered right now.
"Uh, hello? We're supposed to be doing the clean-up, remember? You haven't forgotten, right?" You said, trying to stay as polite as you could.
She sighed and motioned for you to come in, clearly not ready to go just yet.
You slowly stepped into Ellie's room, your eyes taking in the decorations and mess. It was clear that this was Ellie's world, but you couldn't help but feel a slight curiosity towards her.
"So, why exactly weren't you at the gym?" You asked, finally breaking the tension. You didn't want her thinking you were here to start another argument.
"I had stuff to do." Was the terse response you were met with, nothing else.
"Yeah, of course." You rolled your eyes. "Your room could use some cleaning too."
Ellie smirked when your tone turned from polite to annoyed when she gave you her response, but you couldn't help but notice that she slightly recoiled when you mention how messy her room was. For someone with such a sharp tongue, she sure wasn't enjoying that same kind of treatment.
"Oh yeah? So maybe we should have you clean my room instead." She shot back.
"Actually, boarding school is still school, so that'd count too." You smirked, not so sarcastically anymore. You'd really rather stay in her room than running all over the building with a mop and dirty cloths.
Ellie raised one eyebrow at your reply, clearly not expecting you to just accept it without some kind of snarky remark or argument.
"Alright then." She replied simply, and she walked over to her bed and started to clear out the clutter. You couldn't really deny that her room was in a pretty messy state.
You explored the room, looking for something to start with.
Just then, near other scattered clothes, you saw feminine underwear. Clearly not hers.
"Um, Ellie..." You laughed. "Who's this?"
She walked up to you, not seeming surprised or embarrased at all. "I dunno. There's lots of girls visiting." She smirked.
You knew the smart thing to do would be just to drop the topic, but your curiosity got the best of you. Just who was Ellie Williams hanging out with?
"Really? And how many of them leave a pair of underwear in your room as a souvenir?" You asked, trying to keep a straight face, but you couldn't help but be amused by the situation.
Ellie just laughed, and you couldn't help but grin at her confidence in that moment.
"If you're asking if I'm dating someone," Ellie said, looking at you with an amused expression, "then no. I wouldn't call it dating."
You knew Ellie was always too stubborn and proud to just admit it normally, so you decided to push her just a little bit further.
"So it's not just a single person then? What's it? A new girl every day?" you asked with a smirk, knowing you'd hit a nerve there.
The slight flicker of annoyance on Ellie's face told you that you'd hit the mark.
"So what if it is? Are you jealous?" She teased in response, just adding fuel to the fire.
Now, she had the smirk on her face, and you just knew you'll regret what you started.
"Not really. Everyone knows you fuck every girl in the school anyways. Well, almost every." You suggestively pointed at yourself. "That's honestly sad. You should focus on one person, don't you think?"
Ellie took this as a challenge, she just couldn't resist it when you made yourself the exception.
"Oh, you think you're a special case? How cute." She snickered, and you couldn't help but feel somewhat pleased with that response after how much you two had been annoying each other for the past month.
"What do you think, should I consider dating you? It seems like you're interested, isn't that why you keep sticking around?" She asked, looking at you, knowing very well what kind of effect her words were gonna have on you.
"Me? Interested? You're the one finding excuses to talk to me every day, even if it's just another argument!" You shook your head and looked down, trying to hide that your smirk turns into a honest smile.
You felt Ellie's eyes studying your face as you tried to hide your genuine happiness, you tried to play it off, but you knew that it wasn't working in your favor. You couldn't even deny it, because it was true, you were interested in Ellie. Maybe not at first, but after spending time together, you grew to like her, her arrogance, her wit, the snarky smile on her face... and her eyes.
"Oh, so you do care!" She quickly cut in, sensing your weakness as your smile grew.
"Come on, don't tell me you've been enjoying this little game of ours, haven't you? Don't you look forward to it every day? Don't you love the adrenaline that kicks in when you're about to say something that's bound to start an argument?" She asked, taking a step closer to you and lowering her voice.
You could almost see the sparks fly as the two of you stared at each other, both feeling the tension in the air. You were almost tempted to take her up on the offer, but your pride got the best of you.
"You're just full of yourself, aren't you? Thinking everybody craves that attention." You said after taking a deep breath.
Ellie just smiled and walked straight to you, getting up close and personal.
"Well, I know you want it. So stop putting up a facade and admit it."
"I'm not like these sluts you fuck, Williams." You said, trying to keep your voice steady and calm.
Ellie just smirked in response. "You're right, you're not like them. You're better than them. And maybe you are a little special, considering how much you manage to piss me off everyday." She took a step back and looked you up and down. "I kinda like it." She said, and you couldn't help but feel your heart rate go up a little when she said that.
You just stared back at Ellie, not really sure what else to say in this situation. Both of your egos were too big to give the other one satisfaction, and neither would be making the first move.
She finally spoke up; "Your turn to be honest now. Admit you're into me."
She was awfully close to you now, daring you to say something.
"Don't push it, Ellie." You told her confidently, and even though you really wanted to say it, your pride was holding you back from admitting it.
Ellie just smirked and moved even closer to you, until her face was just an inch away from yours. "Say it." She whispered.
You felt your heart pounding faster as you just looked at her, not able to break her stare.
You shook your head. "No way."
She just chuckled at your response. "I knew you'd say that. And now, I'm gonna make you say it yourself."
Before you could even comprehend what was happening, Ellie pulled you close, just enough to make your lips meet. You just stood there, completely stunned by how bold she was, but at the same time, the feeling of her lips against yours was so new and so good as well. You hadn't felt this type of rush before, and you didn't want it to end.
You couldn't stop yourself from letting out a gasp followed by a moan into the kiss, which made her even bolder.
"I'll show you how lucky those so-called by you sluts are." She whispered after pulling away from you, but not for long.
While Ellie's mouth aggresively covered yours, you felt her slowly pushing you towards the bed.
You were barely able to think now, as your adrenaline was pumping through your whole body. Your back hit the mattress, and Ellie continued to push you down as she climbed up onto the bed on top of you.
That's when it hit you.
You realized that your little feud with Ellie wasn't going to end after all, except this time you weren't fighting her.
Instead, you were just enjoying the moment with someone you could almost call a friend.
It felt like there was nothing else in the universe, just a rush of new sensations that you didn't want to end.
Ellie was the one in control now, as you felt her body pressing up against you, her lips pressing against yours, her hands moving around your body without hesitation. You weren't even thinking straight anymore, you just let her embrace you, letting her take control entirely.
You felt her break the kiss for a moment, just to whisper something in your ear. "Say it."
You knew what she wanted you to say, but you just couldn't bring yourself to do so.
Before you could answer, you felt her slowly undressing you. Her lips were tracing paths along your throat, not letting you let out a logical word from it - only little whimpers.
You felt every curve of her body as you felt her lips against your neck, every touch sending chills down your spine.
When you felt her hands move towards your pants, you felt your body respond in the only way you could.
You couldn't think of anything else but her embrace, her warm breath against your neck, and your body slowly being freed from clothing.
Ellie knew exactly how to push your buttons.
Before you could catch your breath, you were left shaking, as her hand slipped into your underwear, which was soon on the floor too. She was teasing your clit in almost painful slow way, watching you squirm.
"Speak up, babe." She whispered mockingly.
But you couldn't. Not because you didn't want, or because your ego didn't let you - you just couldn't. You even asked yourself 'What does this girl wants from me?' as you already forgotten her previous wish. You just weren't thinking straight.
"Come on, do this for me." She kept looking at you with overdramatic concern. You saw her fastening her belt and sliding of her jeans, revealing an obviously-way-too-big strap, which purple color didn't surprise you at all as you imagined it the same way in your dreams.
When you finally came back to your senses, you constructed a whole full sentence answer. But as soon as she saw you opening your mouth to speak up, she slid a few inches of her toy into your soaking cunt. Your planned reply quickly got replaced with another gasp.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" She smirked, her hips started thrusting. She had some sympathy for you, so she didn't make it too painful, but she wasn't also so merciful.
You cried out, at first clenching your thighs from surprise, but she was too strong for you to actually succeed.
You leaned your head back against the pillow, squeezing your eyes shut causing a few of your pathetic tears soak into the sheets.
She held your hips, so she won't miss your sensitive spot, but her grip was so hard you swore you can already see the bruises creating right beneath her fingers.
"Honestly, I'm really happy it ended like that. You have no idea how often I'd imagine you instead of some random girl. But it's good to have you really there." She chuckled, not slowing down but not speeding up either.
Your eyes opened wide at this confession. Before today, the nicest thing she said to you was 'what's wrong?', even though it was in an obviously mocking way. And know it turns out she liked you for a long time. Just like you liked her.
"W...Wh- What?" You managed to stutter out, leaning on your elbows to look at her before your vision turned blurry again so you fell back on the pillow.
"You didn't know?" She laughed. "I mean, you were always oblivious, so I shouldn't be shocked but... I thought it was clear." She was speaking slower than usual as every single word coming from her mouth was synced with the moves of her hips. While saying this simple thing, she pushed her strap into you at least twenty times. And she wasn't taking her time, oh, no. She was fast and rough, like you're just a sex toy without feelings. Did you mind? Hmmm...
When you started getting used to the size of her cock and your mind wasn't completely blank anymore, you remembered one important thing your PE teacher said. 'Someone will check in on you from time to time, so don't even think about anything.' None of you were either at the gym or putting up flyers around school. They're going to think you ditched it. Even though you'd rather get into more trouble than end whatever you were doing now, you felt you need to tell Ellie, just in case.
"El-s..." You moaned out and quickly realised it won't be easy.
"What is it?" She asked, seeming honestly interested in what you got to say. "Ready to admit you're absolutely obsessed with me?"
You clenched your fists, squeezing the bed sheets between your fingers.
"Th- no... We should..." You couldn't help but cry out again.
As soon as she heard the two keywords - 'we should' (and she hated when someone was telling her what to do, so that pissed her off) - she understood what you're trying to say.
"Behave? Fulfill our duties? Or...?" She chuckled.
You wanted to speak up, just to not feel so vulnerable as you really were. You only managed to mumble 'we' before one of her hands started rubbing your clit, just like at the start - painfully slow. The feeling made your thighs tense and move closer to each other, wanting to close the gap between them. But Ellie didn't let that happen as she quickly separated your legs.
Her hips also didn't stop moving, and all the sensations connected made you go silent again. Well, not silent - unable to speak. And that were two completely different things.
"I'd take that as a 'we should continue what we're doing right now'. Isn't that what you want?" Even though you're eyes were closed, you could feel her intense stare on you. Then, her mocking tone came back. "What is it with you being so quiet all of sudden? You spent a few of the past years yelling at me, and you can't even say a word now?"
"I ju-st..." You said but then she hit your g spot again, and again, and again... making you go silent.
Your stomach started feeling funny - probably because of how deep in it Ellie's strap was. At this point, you thought you can even feel it in your throat and that's what's blocking your words from coming out. But the funny feeling had a different origin - your release was getting awfully close, and it didn't go unnoticed.
"We're going to have lots of fun this month." She whispered, leaning in to stroke your cheek.

i'm interested in the dream hasan essay if you don't mind
This essay was written 6 months ago for reddit in the midst of Hasan's shirt controversy and dream's controversy about coming out AND also responding back to fans starting off, I am a fan of both content creators and have been so for a while, and I couldn't help noticing, especially recently, how much their "fanbases" mirror each other in cancellations, even though their content tends to be completely different than each other and they have different fanbases with varying ages. On one end you have wholesome minecraft content creator (cum jokes aside) and on the other you have politically charged commentator but they both get attacked with the same vigor over the silliest things on twitter and this post will delve into analyzing the whys and whos and hows using the two most recent controversies for both of them, dream's coming out (started off by a hasan post amusingly) and hasan's gucci shirt
1. before I delve into their recent controversies I think its important to highlight : Who are the haters and what made them?
tldr; normies and obsessive antis (fantis as I dubbed them for the purpose of this), and what made them is the fact dream and hasan have two or so controversies that manage to cover a WIDE range of political and moral viewpoints
starting off there are two types of people that I tend to predominantly see in controversies relating to these two: normies, and fans/fantis (antis who love to hate them)
the reason I made a whole ass stupid word to describe antis is because anti by itself feels inadequate to describe the level of attachment that a lot of these antis have to these content creators these are not not normal fans, and thus I conclude they are fans who love to hate them, someone who either used to be a fan or just just hates them obsessively; a fanti someone who follows along, knows all the ins and outs and inside jokes yet hates everything about it just because it doesn't agree with them and because of the social climate anything you hate needs to have a moral reason therefore they light a match, then normies tend to bandwagon way after a fan/ti has lit the match, but what compels a normie to bandwagon?
I feel like in the face of public consciousness having one moment (or in the case of these two, multiple moments that cover a variety of people and have a wide outreach) that has a normie immediately perceive you as bad in current day because your name is tied to that moment does play into the cancellation campaigns; for dream I'd say its either the speedrunning scandal or him being an edgy 14 year old, this is something I constantly see from people who aren't fans of dream and know nothing about him reference when they bandwagon. Hasan's moments vary depending on who you are talking to politically, its either the 9/11 incident or The House, the liberal hate train for hasan did exist before hand mostly in the form of his own fan/tis claiming he was grifting for making any money at all, but it didn't explode into mainstream till the house
and so, you can see it in play in the recent controversies, someone close to dream/hasan makes a joke thats sarcastic in nature, a fanti does a thread/comment/post about how that joke is actually problematic, a normie does a little word association and sees ah that name is negative in my head and the logic checks out therefore I must give my half baked opinion and hate on them (this is how velvet baits a lot of people for example haha)
when you are wildly hated by a large variety of people some of which used to be your fanbase because you manage to hit different hate spots for people, people start thinking you are being rightfully hated because if that many people who usually disagree with each other hate you, that means the hate must be correct. As such a rare breed of cc is born, one that people love to hate.
when people love to hate you, you become a default punching bag, every action you take is immediately a negative one and if they cant milk hating you from one angle they switch it up to the other angle, when people cant hate you for being a leftist they start claiming you are a grifter, when they cant hate you for being queer they start hating you for being "homophobic"
2. How they respond to the hate and how it responds back
tldr: oh my god they never stop responding please someone disconnect the wifi, their fanbases love doxing them for breathing wrong
in dream's case they sparked a whole ass new controversy, hasan's fantis are slacking honestly. Both CC's respond back and try to reason with their fantis, this then thereby creates even more wood for the fire, words start being nitpicked, clips taken out of context by fantis on a power trip wanting their 15 mins of fame going "see! see! we told you, we were correct! we are morally superior" and something that was a non issue gets extended far longer than it should. In fact the way the bases respond back is so eerily similar that these two got dox about them spread by normies just because people had an issue with them/disliked them over something that is a very big nonissue and most certainly did not deserve their address being known to the world
Hasan and Dream both want to be seen in a favorable light but they cant because in actuality they are fighting a much bigger hidden prejudice, and that is an inflexible opinion from normies who dont care and fantis who want to cannablize their fame or want their attention. in this clip hasan speaks about the shirt drama and says (https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=139&v=8XfWrnNFxFU&feature=youtu.be)
I'm the only deranged motherfucker who like responds to all the haters and shit. so I created this environment thinking that I could like reason with these people, thinking that I could reason with the wave of negativity associated with me because I am insecure, I do want people to especially, allies like people who are supposed to be on my side to understand my position, to be charitable when they're talking about me or take part in this community so it hurts, it destroys me. When it's right-wingers I don't give a fuck obviously I know where it comes from with right-wingers like "oh socialism is when no money socialism is a poverty cult socialism is a poverty cult" so when it's allies, when it's supposedly people who are leftist I'm like what the fuck dude, what are you doing .
however, there are differences too in how they respond, starkly speaking the apologies; the two controversies, the shirt and the coming out follow an exact path and diverge at the apologies, dream folds very easily under the weight of his fanbase mostly because I assume he still wants to retain them, he tries to appease and subdue, Hasan doesn't tend to bend if ever, he reasons endlessly then gives up and moves on, I cant tell you which ending is more successful or better both seem like they are mentally taxing in their own ways but it does seem like Hasan has a much more solid and loyal core fanbase, whereas dream's feels a bit more brittle mostly because its tied to a young fanbase and young kids tend to phase out of their interests with age
3. Their communities
tldr; dream seemingly has a stronger inner community but also they joke the same way
While hasan seems to have a more loyal viewerbase, Dream seems to have a more solid inner community ie munchymc crew dteam, and he isn't completely alone in the fame game in his corner, the only issue is that he is alone in size but he still has the moral support of friends who can help him and give their opinions which he can trust, Hasan to me doesn't seem to have that and in the previous video he admits that he struggles a lot with self doubt because of how people respond to him and that clouds his vision
that isn't to say their communities are different or that hasan is friendless (lol) because as I said before the reason these two controversies started is because fantis leveraged the style of joking that these two content creators have with their communities, velvet and ostonox (hasan's close friend and editor/mod) both made a joke at the expense of dream and Hasan respectively because that's what you do when your friends with someone and the jokes get twisted and twisted or taken seriously. 4. conclusion: hit each other up and form a self help group chat

I hope tumblr is different enough from twitter in that I won't be found and shot if my thoughts on subculture are a little inaccurate here while I am (checks notes) learning and voicing thoughts and feelings from my own life so far
I've been looking at more fashion stuff less in a like "damn I really want to wear these fancy edgy pants I never knew it was ok to wear" and more wanting to know about how subculture is getting dragged out and aestheticized, its not something that I've ever actively read about or studied as a concept but rather something that interests me on a case by case basis (I started doing research wanting to know more about gyaru subculture and having a vague background interest in subculture because of lgbt stuff and anime fandom)
I'm not exactly looking for an answer (I will find one soon) but at this point I think my understanding of subculture is very confused and I like my confusion... I think when I was a kid, I microdosed on belonging (very lonely/ hid in the back of the class in a hoodie with headphones/ called emo even though i was Not brave or gender enough to be enjoying the thrill of 2011 scene culture like some kids were) because in my small town the only people who were visibly "into anime" were my best friends older sister's Gay Friend Group. They were like... The Gay Ones in middle school and super into FMA and Black Butler and stuff so when I got into anime it was this very sneaky thing I had to know a guy to know a guy about, and the medium itself has always done So Much for my gender as a nb person that there was definitely something going on there. I think I was conflating LGBT spaces and anime fan spaces for sure because thats all I knew before my cooler friends got loudly and visibly into shounen in 2015
What really did it though was anime twitter in 2013... I talk a lot about this because it gave me a lot of my sense of humor and worldview honestly. I followed these anonymous accounts who were some radical leftist transfeminine people in their late twenties (I later mathed out) tweeting all day long about anime, games, crazy ass politics and definitely some of my first sights openly gay horsing around... even if there was nothing that actually made anime fandom a subculture at this point (again I have not really read up on this yet, I imagine me wandering in on twitter signaled the death of it if it was ever one) again, the mix of LGBT leftists finding a place nobody would look for them to talk while also getting so passionately into something that was then just a little bit off from mainstream gave me a taste of what it was like to kinda... sneak out the back door and belong someplace else where your other friends who don't super get you don't
These days, I'm actually friends with a pretty relevant hyperpop DJ guy making a living off of that anime aesthetic stuff and its a ton of fun having more people than ever to talk about anime with. I'm also realizing I lived in a huge bubble growing up and for some people anime/manga were already super mainstream by the time I was finding it around 2009. But when people talk about their subculture dying and the meaning going away as gen Z turns the visual indicators as just fashion (I may well be part of this problem, its quite a bit wave) I do feel like I got some budget version of that feeling put in me as the people who joke about kinning and kissing anime girls become less and less emotionally invested in the fact that they even folks to talk to about it.
Not ok to reblog LOL i sound like a half-assed gatekeeper here

Space Streamer
2024, streaming is still really popular, but being in space is a new trade. Once humanity has built many space stations in earth orbit, in 2022 they discovered gravity wells, and the start of a new type of space race begun. With people not needing to worry about 0g's, new space stations had been planned, and in 2024 the first internationally launched one had been announced as stable for projects.
But that didn't concern Erin, entertaining himself and his half a mill followers was more fun. At least, the space race use to not concern him...
...
Synter was Erin's preferred name, it was what his streaming friends and online friends called him, and it was his twitch and youtube name for all the videos he made. He was a variety streamer that based his content on his personality based on what he does, but variety streaming didn't prepare him for this.
He awoke to something pushing and moving him, his body always woke up before his head did, and this proved true as his eyes opened to being forcibly walked by something far taller than him. Erin was just barely 21, but he had the same height as 12 year old him, a good 5 feet and 2 inches. He was taller than the smallest of girls, but he was still made fun of in school. But taking a good look around this obviously wasn't school, it was a purposely dark hallway with the occasional other person. And by person, I mean a stranger being walked by an alien, and alien they were. They were tall, way taller than any human by at least 4 feet at least.
Describing them was hard, for the other captives they could express in horror as the barely clothed aliens were tri legged with rough leathery looking skin of a yellow color with green spots, their endoskeletons poking out of their skin to protect their soft and large organs. Their heads held mandibles and large round eyes, with other sensory organs on the base of their neck and the collarbone with skinny arms with only three fingered hands, two fingers and a thumb. But to Synter the aliens looked like really large stick bugs. Stick bugs that covered the very top of their chest in a special made crop top that refused to cover their sensory organs. With shorts that held hooks for ropes of fanny pack type pouches galore, and arms with gloves that obviously had some sort of electric function as they glowed a low blue. And an obviously awkward looking bubble of some sort of glass over their head and sensory organs.
Taking a more paniced and thorough look around, now awake to be afraid of the strange aliens, he noticed the occasional glass tube with other persons in it, only human persons. Over speakers that Synter took only a few seconds to spot there was a strange clicking noise mixed with snarling sounds. Strange thing was that it was patterned enough that Synter could guess that it was an language, no aliens could take a race like humanity without being organized enough to have language and writing.
Synter was still in his three layers of hoodie, filled with the weird tools that have been hidden in his many hidden pockets since he lived with his builder father. He was more of a computer guy, and added both hardware and software tools into his many pockets. He moved to alaska just so he could get a new experience, having lived in arizona and Connecticut before. What he got instead was a sudden crash course on how to survive a frozen desert, and a wave of japanese fans for some strange reason.
He remembered that he was out of his house and in town, on his once a blue moon run of supplies. He had run back to his large truck from the store to pick up his glasses and sunglasses that he somehow left, when suddenly things around him went dark. It took a full minute to realize that it was summer, not winter when the sun sometimes didn't show for months, and a look up showed the underbelly of something he couldn't recognize. He vaguely attempted to run to his truck, just as it and him had started floating, then he went out.
He hoped his truck was alright, and a stir of fear settled in his stomach as he wondered what or rather why these aliens wanted them, wanted us. He didn't need to struggle to see from example that their hands were cuffed in a dull metal type. The people getting walked that were making noise was getting masks or gags put on them, but not for the ones staying quiet. The people in the containers also seemed awake, watching in anticipation. And then, over the speakers of the strange alien voice a human one came on.
It was just yelling at first, but he and the others getting walked could tell that it was obviously human. In a strange act, the tall aliens abandoned their humans, throwing them on the ground on the side of the hallways, before sprinting quickly to the end of the hallway. Just as the doors started to close, Synter started to get up, and with his physical rising despite his hands behind his back, the human voice started speaking constantly.
"Attention Human Citizens!
This is space traveling captain Richard Fuck-My-Life reporting on the group mission "Man-Fucked-Up", As in 'Man thus is Fucked Up' or 'Man These Guys are Fucked.
Now, you may be experiencing this displeasure of a moment called being captured. Well, seeing as some of you were forced through orientation when you were asleep, i could tell, some of you snore-, these bitch asses are a researcher alien race! They were told we were valuable some type of way and started abducting us in front of public eyes! Luckily, in the two days of abducting they did, many governments around the world started retaliating! Some nukes were even set off, although with the help of space whatnots those nukes were propelled into deep space where some other ships were warping in.
Humanity is now lovingly fighting a space fight, and a whole continent has been american-ized in the process. Also in this process is the revolution of nuclear and solar energy instead of gasoline, and a mineral and metal revolution as we take the space ships we've crashed and use them for our own cities and ships.
But that doesn't concern you too much now, does it? You guys are in space for gods sake, what about getting back home?! Well do I have some news for you! These bitch ass aliens have weak ass materials! We're deathworlders baby! We're stronger than personal structures! Unfortunately not as strong as the ship itself, because you know, protection from space, but we're close!
Now if you don't mind just try breaking free of those hand cuffs!"
The still standing Synter attempted pulling his arms, and with a snap the cuffs broke and his hands were free. Looking around the others on the ground were also breaking free easily. It made the feeling of slight fear dissipate into nervousness, he felt better about the situation.
"These hands cuffs don't really do anything anyway, the aliens made them like cop cuffs because they thought something along the lines of 'the shape will make these creatures weak!' Or something." The human, Richard continued.
"Next, kindly kindly, if you could show some human kindness for your fellow human race and break the glass containers? Its not an ultra strong glass, but you still need something sharp or heavy to break it."
Being as he was standing close to one of the containers, Synter pulled out a small ice pick and gently tapped, the glass quickly cracking & falling into medium sized pieces. Sharp pieces. Around him some people were breaking out on their own, and some of the previously handcuffed persons were using the cuffs to break the glass.
"Careful careful," the voice almost immediately sang," we may be stronger than these damned fools but we can still puncture our feet with glass. Although by the looks of it these aliens only confiscated the outer layer of clothing for extreme weather environments. Geez, these guys totally abducted you in places cold enough to consider death for them, and they didn't even think twice about it? What kind of scientific species are they?"
Synter softly chuckled at that, the man sure knew how to lighten a situation.
"Okay okay, you guys are ahead of schedule compared to my other friends, all 4 compartments of you. 5 ships, 4 compartments each, two rows of walkway per compartment, and 40 people per row. Simple maths by calculators, some of you still have your phones, says thats Sixteen Hundred people they've managed to abduct! And seeing as they have only enough for a flat thousand, killed roughly a mill in quote "terran" end quote Ground to escape with you, and the whole other 7.67 billion people want you back, maybe minus the 1.3 billion people living in developing countries that may or may not focus more on becoming developed other than getting into space, thats a whole lot of responsibility and only 7 of us that's been in space long enough to push you back home. " Richard seemed to ramble.
During Richard's talking, Synter did wonder if he in fact had his phone on him. Sure enough, one look in his most inside pocket and there was his phone. All three of them. One was for personal calls, and it sometimes acted like a mini laptop than a phone meant for game apps. It wasn't his largest, but he could contact anybody via anything on it, and he usually gave businesses this number. The second was his streaming phone, the screen was large but it would be the flattest thing he has, first to even his ass, if it wasn't for the phone case. It had a decent enough processer, enough to that it was practically a second moniter. It made checking his chat during outdoor streams or cooking streams easy. He also downloaded a bunch of music and how to videos to laugh at. His third phone was almost like his streaming phone, but smaller and it had the capacity to run like another laptop. If it was a person then it would be a car that ran on coffee for gasoline, a powerful powerhouse of data processing that meant he could even stream from his phone. But seeing as this was the last phone he had used and it showed he had no signal, he doubted he could do anything but record.
The man on the speakers continued to blabber on about how much of a pain the aliens were for kidnapping so many humans in broad daylight. Synter put away his phones and ran to the ends of the hallway, where other people free of their constraints were starting to gather. Jogging down one end he saw the open containers, probably where he and the other cuffed people were being walked to before Richard interrupted them. Synter did his best going through the not so dense crowd, about half of the hallway so about 20 people.
He stared at the door, trying to find where it ended and where a box looking panel would be placed. Would aliens even have control panels in space ships?
"Ah! It seems a few of you are eager to move on to the next step. Well then, let me get on with the informing. These aliens, or Xeno's as the less offensive term, are pussies and are running away. They will soon be using most of the escape pods, however there are more escape pods then there is scientists. Unluckily there are a few military types onboard in case there is a riot, and they will attempt to quote "sink with the ship". These military types are, however, stupid weak, one of our punches will make gore out of them.
Ah! Someone yelled it! It's the humans are space orcs theory! Or really for us its a collection of stories under the idea, but seeing as that idea is now true it is a theory and these home made stories are now probable stories written under the theory's speculation. Big words, small brain. Basically we think faster for a longer and more death like sleep cycle, and when in practice we are faster and stronger than any Xeno's, although because of our preferred gravity we are more compact and dense than they are.
Theres all the things complaining about earth bugs and earth diseases and earth foods that can kill most other aliens too. Did you know there are only 3 other races coming from death planets, and after being introduced they've all decided to become hermits? It turns out 50% of these non death world races didn't evolce with light sensors, or have limited light sensors, aka eyes. That's why its dark, but the next bit will be easy. At somewhere around 6 feet there is a panel, if you smash it in or find something to pry it open by the cracks, you can hotwire it. While you're figuring out where it is, I'll announce to each hallway individually which hallway and compartment you are. Basically every one of you are in front of some storage container space, whatever they're called."
As soon as the voice stopped the group around him started mumbling to each other. Suddenly the question came out straight,"does anybody know how to hack some wires?"
Synter raised his hand, calling out that he had basically found the panel already and that he knew how to work with electric hardware. But by all of their looks they knew he was too short to reach the panel properly. A strong looking guy stood behind him, bending down to offer a piggy back ride straight for the panel. Synter accepted, someone from his group yelling and gesturing to the other side of the hallway for where Synter had pried open the panel. The first thing he pried open turned out to be the security panel covering. There were buttons galore in a language not written, but raised into the plastic like panel. It would be almost useless to try and hack the electric lock, so instead Synter switched out his tool for a screwdriver.
"2A, you guys are compartment two letter A as in first walkway going from left to right on the ship from a birds eye view. By the way, 2A lower hallway with the guy piggybacking another to reach the panel, you're ahead but on the right track. Trying to crack the alien passcodes on these bare panels would be useless, so after breaking into the panel definitely 6 ft above the ground and unscrewing the alien panels for the wires underneath would be a good next step unless I can override their system using the handy dandy AI I got."
"Its Alien Braille." Synter shouted as the man commented on the passcode panel.
But richard didn't respond to him, and Synter went quiet again with concentration. Just as the man went silent again the final screw went loose, and after tossing the screwdriver of many applications to someone else so they can run it to the other end of the hall, Synter started inspecting the wires. The strong man holding him on his back shifted weight as Synter pulled out a phone, using the flashlight feature to look at the wires. It was a complicated looking mess of different shades of grey, but coming from the walls were colored(surprisingly) braised symbols that each cluster of wires originated from. Maybe a mostly blind species' way of organizing wires without color vision.
The person that ran the screwdriver to the other end of the hallway ran back, the other side just getting the wires exposed as the voice crackled on.
"Awww! The whole lot of you figured out how to get to the wires! Recognizing that most of you punched your way through, that's okay cuz it's taller than most of our heads. Anyways, people with phone lights can now see that there are many colored wires. They did not do the coloring on purpose, but we will use it to our advantage. The wires with the green symbol need to be paired with the wires connecting to the panel. If you do that the doors will open."
As Richard was speaking Synter did so, and immediately the doors open with a slow force. The man Synter was piggybacking on let him down, quickly following the rest of the group that squeezed between the slowly opening doors. Synter hesitated a bit, looking over across the hallway to see that the other end had also opened their door. Synter let the soft light bask his face by the door as Mr. Richard directed everybody to the ends of the ship, the top of the hallway spilling left while his side spilled right, meeting with the other compartments.
But something caught his eye to the left. It wasn't the other compartments spilling into the other side of the ship, instead it looked like a low shiny, the low shiny of his truck. He ran to it, and in the surprisingly opened warehouse, yes the word Richard was looking for was space warehouse, was Synter's truck! It was beautiful even in low lighting, and Synter ran to it's hood to hug it. Other than some dust and alien handprints that basically told him that they didn't know how to get in or reach the engine, it hadn't been touched.
With his truck there were boxes upon boxes of things, his truck standing on some boxes too, and standing on boxes were some other vehicles. Counting 4 other vehicles in total, there was an all electric tesla, a helecopter, a small tractor, and one of the highly classified new human space cruisers, like a van but smoother and meant for launch and landing in space. It probably also had the new gravity function too, and Synter became excited just spotting it. With a crackle in the air, a speaker Synter didn't know was in the room started up.
"Hey there, are you sure you wanna stay here? You can escape with other humans if you want." Richard spoke through a softer announcing speaker.
It sounded like it was under a box or something, but Synter wasn't going to escape space prison without his truck. He shook his head.
"Nuh-uh! Im abducted with my truck I'll leave with my truck. It has food for 3 years if I don't eat like a pig, and besides im a computer mechanical & engineering wizard, if something goes wrong i can look up a how to video I downloaded and fix it. I was interested enough about space before this." Synter exclaimed, attempting to hug his truck tighter but failing and sliding down it.
He fell on his ass and the speaker sighed.
"Okay fine, each of these rooms are meant to house xenos of any race for at least 2 years, and 6 months of hurtling in space is all you need to be caught by earth. I did manage to hack the ship, so I'll weld down your closed doors from the outside to make it space proof." The doors cracked open behind him slammed shut, the sound of large locks clinking together before the heater whir of presumably the fire torches or the Xeno equivalent stirring behind him.
"Meanwhile to survive I guess I can guide you to the warehouse computer and monitor so you can rewire it with the fabricator that should be next to it. It should be to your right, against the wall behind a smaller pile of boxes. Ooh! It looks like this warehouse was marked for refined metals and chemicals! With it you could make your own chemical water & oxygen making machine and ftl drive, if you need it. I'm going to guide the rest to their escape pods and their own warehouse cargo bay so I can catapult you into space towards earth. You ready?"
Synter was already running towards the wall of boxes.
