Also not to tinhat too aggressively about a show that will FOR SURE disappoint me, but here's how Pity Padawan Theory can still win.

Pity Padawan Theory is my personal deeply-held hope that both Shin and Sabine are absolutely dogshit at the force and just Trying Their Best, thus making them a) mirrors and b) ultimately gay for each other. This pleases me on several levels and therefore, is good.

We see an early focus on Sabine not being able to feel her enemies with the force; relying on her eyes instead of her ~Jedi senses~ bc she's uh bad at it

We see Shin really looking when the ship goes down. I know we're supposed to be like oh Ahsoka so skilled as a Jedi she's obscured herself within the Force but Sabine sure hasn't why does Shin not try to feel for her.

I have seen a few theories about why Ahsoka is taking Sabine as a padawan if she's so bad at the Force and I'm not super concerned with which is right but we know she's like. Not a stellar candidate.

We know that Skoll is concerned with ~the scarcity of Jedi~ and old things and mystical things, it would be on brand for this dude to find a kid that is barely Force-sensitive and be like. I can make this work. In this economy we take what we can get.

Also what if we were both striving to connect to a power that didn't want to feel us. What if we were both convinced the other was better/worse and it made us powerful nemeses, only to discover we were in fact the same. And we were both girls . . .?

Hey y'all! Here's something for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week!

Solarpunk's aesthetics have its roots in the art nouveau movement, but if you look at pieces of art nouveau artwork, well, you see a whole lot of skinny white people. Not that there's anything wrong with being either skinny or white! I'm both! It's just, we need some more diversity in the landscape, eh?

So take a summery, art nouveau-inspired piece of a character inspired by my own girlfriend :)

Yes, I know it's rather messy! But honestly, I think that's okay. Art doesn't need to be perfect, and I like that! What matters is that you have fun and feel content.

So here's a reminder to any other artists and writers out there stressing about your work, for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week or anything else- Relax. Creativity is about you and about what you love and what you enjoy. If you're not enjoying it anymore, post and move on.

(I stopped enjoying this piece after my tablet decided to become very finicky and kill my momentum entirely. Had I more time, I'm sure the quality would've been more up to my personal standards.)

had a random thought earlier today abt Dorian possibly being foreshadowing

quick caveat that I'm still and will always be fucking PISSED at bioware for making the Dalish's gods slave owners. like that's so fucked. but they went that route

and I was thinking abt it today, and abt Dorian's arc during inquisition, his movement from "well, I never gave it much thought, it's just how it was back home" to actively defending it as he starts to feel the shame of it to beginning to unpack his complicity in an awful system

like - was this a bit of foreshadowing for Solas? maybe for others of the Evanuris, either after Fen'harel's rebellion or in the modern age of Thedas? was it a metaphor for the way Solas came to his decision to rebel?

another caveat: Solas is very clear about believing Mythal was the only good one of the Evanuris. so perhaps she began to question slavery. but others could have, as well. DA has always given a nuanced view of character motivations, it'd be really interesting to see them tackle how the Evanuris changed, either during Arlathan and the rebellion or during their imprisonment if they're conscious

a final caveat: Dorian's character is loaded with complexity that I'm not going to unpack in an off the cuff tumblr post, but I will acknowledge the serious issue of making the only brown main character in the game come from a slave owning culture. that's always sat poorly with me.

I really enjoy diversity. I'm not trying to collect woke tokens (wokens?), I just really enjoy it. I love how different people are. I love how everyone's minds work differently, everyone's experience of the world is different, and however long you know somebody, you'll never really know what's going on in their head.

I love the fact that, even when people put a word to their experiences - like asexual, say, or aromantic, or demiaroace - those experiences can still be so different. What defines my experience as a demisexual can be totally different from another demisexual, and yet still be a quintessentially demi experience.

Human beings are paradoxical and ineffable and endlessly, endlessly varied. Like the Vulcan concept, Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.

Brandon Heath was on KLOVE radio this morning and mentioned either being on a retreat or therapy and was asked, what does he think Jesus thinks of him?

He didn't want to have a Christian like answer but what came to him is, he thinks Jesus likes his sense of humor.

The first thoughts that came to my mind for an unexpected question to ponder was, "You're not broken, you are loved".

What synchronicity to find this song on YouTube when I looked him up. No, there was no song playing on the radio at the time. I pray 🙏 it was the Holy Spirit and not my own thoughts.

I do often see myself as broken, which is ironic, considering the thoughts that came to my mind.
