Genderbent Katara would wear Kya's necklace like a bracelet and have a whole arc about learning to heal. This makes healing Genderbent Zuko during the finale even more significant.

recently learned that one of my friend’s articles got quoted in a very strange place -- not a bad place it was like, a youtube video essay, but it was so bizarre in a breaking of reality sense because i never expected to hear those familiar words be quoted there. and it’s obviously like an incredible thing to hear that, but also terrifying because i am having to realize that the things i write and the way i am is very much in the public eye. and accessible. my pronouns are public information, a decision i made mostly alone and my sister has had to console me about for months because i am terrified my family will find it. i have written articles about grief i have experienced and have to reconcile with the fact that this grief is now public info. 

i’m working on an article right now that involves one of the most traumatic things that has ever happened to me. my friends in the sphere have offered so much to support me: to take the name of the article so i can remain anonymous, to support me in writing it and editing it, etc. and it’s just- it’s very complicated. 

i know that my parents are very rigid in their beliefs and would never in a million years approve of the sacrifices i have made to be (1) my authentic self and (2) a good activist. i am still scared something bad could happen to me if i go to the wrong place with someone who recognizes me. i want to believe that what i am doing is valiant, but am equally terrified that if i talk about X experience, i am just begging people to recreate it with me. 

but in a different sense, i am tired of these conversations not being had. and that’s what activism is about -- the article i am working on is something that is underdiscussed. i can’t find any fucking articles about it to include statistics with, and my team has never ever written about it. this other idea i have, it’s the exact same. uncharted territory.

it needs to be talked about. it needs to be heard. 

i think a lot about what people envision activism to be. some fruit that can delicately bite into before leaving the core to rot. sometimes, activism is biting off more than you can chew. sometimes, it’s your stomach being so full of fruit juice that you can go to bed at night. sometimes, the acid still burns, and you can’t. 

nevertheless, it’s important. what i am doing is important.

i just have to convince myself of that.

I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere. #Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios. #The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*. #This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those. #Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human. #Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her. #She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist. #The damsel was the dragon all along! #...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.

i cant see my friends

ruins the sense of community

can't tell at a glance who's online right now and what they're interested in

literally cannot tell without scrolling back up who put a post on my dash if it has a single addition attached to it. or like. 2 paragraphs in the op.

i cant click my own icon at the top of the dash to quickly view my own blog

can't tell who someone used to be if they change their username

squashes the margins between the menu and posts, making the whole dash feel more cramped

ruins the quick visual cue of how long each post is and where it ends when you're trying to scroll past ones youve seen before

people put a lot of creativity and individuality into icons, and now i never see them

makes people who primarily reblog instead of make their own posts all but completely disappear
