ok but what if Wolfwood’s oral fixation and smoking habits actually comes from using the vials, not from smoking…

Think about it. His mouth is conditioned to seek out that little cylindrical shape to survive, to find strength, to heal. But every time he uses the serum in the vials, it alters the physical and chemical makeup of his body. Would it be such a large jump to think that a part of him would crave that feeling— would crave what the vials do? Wouldn’t a small nicotine high be the closest sort of rush?

What if Wolfwood chain smokes and eats lollipops to stop from using vials when he doesn’t need them? What if killing himself slowly with nicotine is the only way he can stop himself from killing himself faster with serum?
