If You Hadn’t Gone (Stucky x Reader)
Hi! I wrote this for my friend @larkboyd, sole provider of Stucky on my dashboard.
Uhhhhhh I’m not really in this fandom, but I can relate to feeling a lill crappy and just wanting to be sandwiched between two beefcakes. Besides, I had a dream a couple of nights ago about these specific men for some reason (seriously, like I said, I’m not even IN THE FANDOM. How does this even happen???). Steve was making nachos for me and Bucky was just slow dancing with me in the kitchen. So. That’s all this little ficlet is, really. Idk. Also I’ve never written in this perspective, I just DON’T KNOW WHY I DO THE THINGS I DO ANYMORE OKAY. Anyway.
Title is a line translated from a song they play in the movie y tu mamá también because !!! that dance scene, amiright?
Hope you enjoy c:
Words: 1318, Chapters: 1/1, Language: English
Fandom: Captain America / Marvel Cinematic Universe
Rating: All Ages
Warnings: None, pure fluff
Categories: M/M/F
Characters: You, Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes
Relationships: Established Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, You/Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes
Additional Tags: bad breakup with an unnamed asshole, hurt/comfort, fluff, domestic au, beginning of an m/m/f relationship, (but idk that’s not really clear and mostly just in my head, I might never write another word for this again, just wanted to put this out there)
---------------------------
You’ve never been one to cry over a man. It hasn’t happened once in the past. Sure, previous break-ups were awful, but you’d always known these men weren’t permanent. Besides, you have always been perfectly happy when you were on your own.
This time, however, it feels like someone has punched you in the stomach and won’t quit twisting their fist around. You really thought he’d be the one, he had been talking about engagement not three days ago. It hurts something fierce, and all you can really do is sob uncontrollably.
At first, the best idea seemed to be to just get a tub of chocolate ice-cream and order some take-out, but the weather was getting colder and although autumn was usually one of your favourite seasons this time the rain and the wind outside made you feel all sorts of cold.
I just don’t want to be alone tonight.
It’s the one phrase that’s on repeat in your head. But the task of reaching out to one of your friends and ask them to come over seemed impossible to complete today.
The only solution seems to be to curl up on the sofa and put on a random show on Netflix that you’ll only half watch between bouts of wondering where it all went wrong and why you feel the way you feel right now.
-
A loud noise startles you. Someone is knocking at the window. Confused, you look up and try to find a clock. It’s just about 7 PM, it’s getting dark outside. The screen of the TV asks if you’re still watching, as if it’s aware that you’ve cried yourself to sleep a few hours prior.
You huff and by pressing a singular button on the remote your turn the TV with its mocking message off.
Leave me alone, I don’t need your judgment, too, stupid piece of garbage.
Then there is another knock at the window. It must be the food delivery guy. You quickly wipe away the tears from your eyes and take a deep breath. Five seconds of human interaction will be tough, but so are you and you can definitely handle that.
When you open the door, you remember you didn’t actually order any food yet.
It’s not the pizza delivery guy you thought it would be. It’s your friend, Steve. He smiles at you, as you stand there, dumbfounded.
What is he doing here?
“Hey, you didn’t show for dinner and didn’t respond to mine or Bucky’s texts, are you alright?”
Shit. Friday night. Movie night. How could you forget?
Five seconds have passed, and you’re not certain you can manage any more of this human interaction without crying again. The look on his face shifts as he can see you’re struggling.
“What happened? Are you alright?”
He steps into your personal space and wraps his arms around you, as you bury your face in his shirt and start crying.
“He broke up with me, Steve,” you manage to say. “Last week he was talking about engagement and now he never wants to see me again.”
He ushers you inside and closes the door behind him, saving you from the cold outside.
“Shhhhhh,” he says, whilst softly stroking your back. You stand there for a while. He keeps making shushing noises, keeps softly petting your back, until you calm down a little. You feel a bit embarrassed for crying in front of him, but also realise that if you would feel comfortable with crying in front of anyone, it would be him. He never judges you, he’s always right there when you need him, and he always manages to make you smile. Although that might seem like too much of a task even for him, today.
“Have you had anything to eat yet?” he asks.
“No,” you say.
“Then I’m calling Bucky and we’ll make you something, is that alright?”
Right. Because then there’s yet another person to see you cry and be miserable.
But as you feel his arms wrapped around your torso, you realise that at this point in time, being alone would be worse. And of all the people you consider your friends, Bucky and Steve are probably the people you feel the most at ease with.
“Yeah, that’s alright,” you say, feeling very small. “I’m just. I’m going to cry a lot though.”
Steve laughs. It’s more of a low rumble, coming from deep inside his chest. “That’s perfectly alright, cry as much as you want. We’ll be here.”
-
When you exit the bathroom, you can hear music coming from the kitchen. Bucky has arrived, then.
The shower has done you good. The hot water is always able to soothe any aches and pains, and it seems that holds true for heartaches. As you look at your closet, you can see a yellow summer dress hanging on the rack, just barely peeking around the corner.
Summer is over, and there hadn’t been an occasion to wear it. But the house is warm and the dress looks comfortable enough, and besides, dressing up always makes you feel better. It isn’t a hard decision to make.
When you enter the kitchen, the first thing you hear is an appreciative whistle. You start blushing, but have no time to really feel embarrassed about it, as Bucky wraps his arms around you in a big bear hug.
“You look lovely, sweetheart,” he says. You wrap your arms around him a little tighter. If you linger a little longer in his hug to hide the deep blush on your face, that’s between you and yourself.
“What are you making?” you ask, when you finally let go of the loving embrace of your friend.
“Steve is making nachos, and he isn’t allowing me anywhere near them,” Bucky says, sounding a little disgruntled.
“Hey, who burned them last time? I’m doing us all a favour.”
“Come on, that was one time.”
“Who burns nachos? It’s like, the easiest food to make. Period.”
Bucky rolls his eyes at you and makes a mocking face at Steve. You can’t help yourself and you have to hide a giggle behind your hands. Bucky’s eyes light up and he smiles at you brilliantly.
“Guess I’ll need to find something else to do in the meantime, then,” Bucky says.
The song changes, and all of a sudden the air turns soft, the music sounds sweeter. Before you know it, you feel Bucky clasp your hand in his as he wraps his other arm around your waist. There is no time to protest, and frankly, you’re not so sure that you even want to fight it.
He sways you slowly from the left to the right, following the rhythm of the music, as he hums along with the melody. Steve turns around for a moment, then smiles, and turns back to grating the cheese.
In hindsight, you’re really glad Steve showed up when he did. Asking for help can be terrifying, but when it is offered freely it is much easier to accept. And if an hour ago someone would have told you that you would be laughing right now, you would have declared them mad.
Steve finishes grating the cheese and puts the nachos in the oven. He wipes his hands on the tea towel and walks towards the two of you, dancing. Before you know it he, too, has wrapped his arms around you from behind, and tentatively places his hands on Bucky’s hips, as he leans his head on your shoulder and moves along with the music.
You can’t bring yourself to look into Bucky’s eyes anymore, but that’s alright. The air smells like nachos with molten cheese, the sounds in the air are peaceful and calm, and the arms wrapped around you feel amazingly warm.
In spite of everything that has happened today, you realise that right now, you are happy.
--- the end.

Does it annoy you when people make their default of them kissing someone? I don’t mind kissing photos or icons. But hmm, I can imagine being a little grossed out if it’s an image of them kissing with tongue or if it’s generally a little on the sloppy side.
Are there any names you can think of that just go well together? Well there’s...a lot of names in existence lmao, so there’s a lot of combinations out there that I like for sure. I just don’t rank them and I don’t have a name combination of choice just yet.
Do you enjoy museums? I’m obsessed with museums. In every single one of our family trips, my dad has always made sure to book at least one museum visit for me so I can return back home happy, hahaha. I also visit and revisit museums in my own time, and I’m open to going to any kind of museum whether it’s natural history, art, science, ancestral homes, etc.
Have you ever met anyone famous? One of my coworkers plays the drums for a local band that’s got a bit of a following, so it was definitely a shock when I first saw his name in our work group chat. Someone I used to be close friends with in the local wrestling community is now an actor/influencer and doing a billion gigs and photoshoots all day. We’re still mutuals so every now and then I’d comment on one of his posts and congratulate him on how far he’s come.
Describe the scariest dream you can remember? I never like it when someone I love is shot in my dreams. The scariest dream I had recently is probably the one where I watched three planes drop to the ground all at the same time and explode.
Have you ever been to a mint where they make money? Nopes. I think the BSP had been part of one of Nina’s field trips before, but my batch didn’t get to have the itinerary.
Do you ever get really, really hyper? Occasionally.
Are you left or right handed, or ambidextrous? Right-handed.
If ambidextrous, do you prefer writing with your right or left hand?
What is your favourite subject at school? Any history elective, biology, political science.
Do you ever use Yahoo! Answers? For seriousness or for trolling? I used to read both serious (when I have a legit question) and funny (when I was bored and just wanted to lurk on the site) items on it. These days, when I have a genuine question, Google usually pulls up a Quora link which I find has been more helpful than Yahoo! Answers ever was.
Have you ever stepped on a thumb tack? No, but my brother did when he was a baby and was first learning how to walk.
Do you have a username you use for everything? Or does it change each site? I use my first name + surname for more serious, professional websites. Then I have a go-to for everything else.
Are you in Miami bitch? :D No. Not really interested in going to Florida at all, to be honest.
How did you break the last bone you broke? I’ve never broken a bone.
Have you ever used Nexopia? Never used, never heard of it before.
What has been the best year of school for you so far? Junior year of both high school (2014-15) and college (2018-19) were really great for me. There was a string of good events that happened in both, and I was able to have a lot of fun, gain friends, and have a number of positive learning and growing-up experiences.
Do you have any disorders or disabilities? I’ve always worried that I have BPD, but from the time I started considering it until today I’ve only done self-diagnosis, so idk. There’s definitely a lot more to unpack when it comes to me, mentally and psychologically.
Do you ever watch How To videos? Not really. How It’s Made videos are fun to watch though.
Do you enjoy trolling? It doesn’t even sound fun.
Have you ever been to an emergency room? If so, what for? Never been.
Which emoticon face do you use most often? Things like: :) :( :D :P :L D: Most of the time I’ll use the open- and closed-mouth smileys. I use the sad face as well, and occasionally I’ll pull out the :3 and :/ emoticons.
Are you a musical sort of person? I mean, are you musically talented? Yeah, not at all. I can’t sing, read music, nor play any instrument.
How did you break the first phone you broke? So my mom hooked my first phone to a lanyard that I was made to wear as it was the surest way I wouldn’t be able to lose it (I was 7, which really should not be an age for kids to receive their first phones lol). One day I was being a little more rambunctious than usual, and while moving around the hook to the lanyard suddenly came off, and the phone crashed to the ground. It messed up the screen a bit and the hook also got a little fucked from there; eventually the phone came off during my 1st grade field trip and I never realized, and I lost the phone.
Did you have a tree house when you were a kid? If so, did you ever fall from it? We did not have a treehouse. My grandpa surely would’ve been the type to make one for his grandkids as he’s great at building stuff and working with wood, but it just wasn’t plausible considering most trees here are crawling with fire ants and other weird and potentially dangerous insects.
Have you ever been on vacation to a snow field? I don’t know what that is but I’ll go ahead and say no as I’ve never seen snow anyway.
When you go on vacation, what mode of transport do you usually use? We take road trips most of the time because my dad likes to drive. But if it’s gonna be on another island in the country, like Palawan or Batanes, then we obviously have to take a plane.
What is the worst show, in your opinion on MTV? The best? I don’t care for any shows on MTV and I typically think most of them look like they suck. The few ones I’ve seen, like Teen Wolf and Scream, certainly didn’t help.
Do you like Jason Derϋlo? Eh, some of his hit songs are catchy but I’m not a fan fan.
Are there any movies that just creep you out so much? Aside from everything about it being creepy, Eraserhead is just so depressing to watch. Midsommar is also a freaky film.
Have you ever had a close encounter with a shark? I don’t think so.
Do you have any hotties on your walls? I have a poster of Nam Joo Hyuk that Angela got me when she went to South Korea, but he’s more cute than hot to me tbh.
Do you ever wish dinosaurs came back to life and there were cute and snuggly? Not really. But it would’ve been interesting to see how they would look like in real life, and know their temperament and things like that.
How many countries have you been to? Aside from having been around my own, 6.
How many states have you been to? In all the countries you’ve been to? We stayed in one city/state for each country I’ve gone to - Bali, Singapore, Johor, Shanghai, Jeju, and Fukuoka.
What is a song you heard long before it became popular and everyone liked it? Idk about songs, but this was me with The Crown lol.
Do you enjoy designing things? Anything? Not my thing at all. This is more of Nina’s specialty. Girl can make anything look pretty.
Do you know anyone who has gotten themselves into a serious accident? Yeah. Off the top of my head, I remember my aunt getting involved in a hit-and-run with a motorcycle and needing to get a number of stitches on her head. My cousin Joelle also got into a bad car accident a few Christmases ago that totally wrecked her vehicle.
Can you play anything on the violin? Nope, I never learned how to play. It’s one of my favorite instruments though.
Do you know what a raincheck at stores is? Never heard of that. I’ve heard some people say “I’m gonna have to take a rain check” whenever they abruptly have to bail on a plan at the last minute, but I think you’re talking of a different raincheck here.
Whose funeral was the last you went to? Nacho’s wake. Never been to a funeral.
Who got married at the last funeral you went to? That’s pretty fucked up.
What do you think of excessively long names? What about their shortenings? I don’t have an opinion on either.
Do you ever get hay fever? No.
Do you know anyone with the last name Pilbeam? Never heard of that surname before.
When you were little, did you have those magnet letters on your fridge? We may have had those? I’m not sure. I haven’t seen the fridge I grew up with for a while now. I do know Athenna had those magnet poetry phases on her family’s fridge and we used to try to make poems with them.
Have you seen the Techno Jeep video on YouTube? I have not, and it doesn’t sound familiar.
Does your house have a wood fire? No.
Do you know what a Pibgorn is? I don’t think so. I can’t recognize the term.
Can you learn the lyrics of a song by ear, or do you have to search them up? It’s 50/50 for me. Sometimes it’ll be easy for me to recognize the lyrics, and other times it’s incredibly difficult.
Do you like the name Amy? It’s a pretty name. I’d consider it as a second or third name.
Have you ever got an x-ray? How about a brain scan? Just an x-ray.

“Insecure” A Brie Larson imagine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Possible Warnings: weight insecurity and slightly tipsy Brie Larson and Chris Evans
Music thumped loudly as you nursed the drink in your cup. Pretty much everyone was dancing and having fun, everyone but you. When Brie asked you to be her plus one to her producer friend’s engadgment party, you were excited. Getting to be in the same room as Hollywood elites was a dream come true, that was until everyone started acting like drunk teenagers.
Dress straps were falling off women’s shoulders and all the dress shirts were revealing way too much skin. Seeing everyone so exposed not only made you feel weird but also a little insecure. After all, ninety-five percent of the people there were actors in superhero movies and had well...superhero bodies. For the most part, you considered yourself to be fairly confident, but being around people with less than five percent body fat made you feel self conscious.
“Babe! Over here!” You heard your girlfriend’s voice call out over the music. Looking up from your drink you saw Brie and Chris Evans sitting on a nearby couch. You quickly left your spot in the corner and made your way over to the two.
“Hey y/n! Good to see you again!” Chris greeted you with a genuine smile.
“Nice to see you too, Chris.”
“Babe, come closer.” Brie said, holding out her arms. You were confused why she wanted you to come closer, but you did it anyway. Before you could process what was happening, Brie had you pulled into her lap with her arms wrapped around your waist.
“Aw look at you two, being all in love.” Chris mused with a smirk. Normally you would enjoy the embrace, but your insecurity started to kick into high gear. You were suddenly very aware of how many calories were in your drink even though you only had a few sips and how many nachos you ate during dinner.
“I’m going to go get another drink, you guys want anything?” Chris asked as he jumped to his feet.
“I’ll take another margarita, Chris.” Brie mumbled before pulling you even closer somehow.
“Y/n?”
“No thanks, Chris.”
“Okay, I’ll be back in a few!” Chris darted straight for the kitchen, giving you an opportunity to get off Brie’s lap. You quickly grabbed her arms and untangled them from your waist. As quickly but composed as possible, you flung yourself onto the empty cushion.
“What did you do that for? I like having you in my lap.” Brie pouted.
“I just don’t want to sit on your lap right now.” Your tone was cold and you hoped Brie would notice.
“Is something wrong? You’re acting weird.”
“I’m fine just...tired.”
“Oh...you can go home if you want. Chris and I want to stay a little longer and talk to some producers.”
That caused something inside you to snap. You stood up and crossed your arms over your chest.
“Fine. Stay and talk to your hot friends.”
The look on Brie’s face could only be described as pure confusion as you walked away. You awkwardly shuffled past people until you reached the driveway. Thankfully, no other car was blocking you in, making for an easy exit.
You drove back to your own apartment. Usually you would spend the night at Brie’s, but tonight you wanted to be alone. After finding a parking spot you climbed the four flights of stairs to reach your apartment.
After kicking off your shoes, you made a beeline for the bathroom and started your nightly routine. Once everything was said and done it was time for bed. You threw on an oversized t-shirt that Brie had left one night. You couldn’t help but notice how the fabric clung to your skin, making you feel even worse. With a frustrated sigh, you threw the shirt back in the closet and slipped on a much looser sweatshirt.
Finally, you slid into bed and curled into the blanket. As much as you wanted to sleep, your thoughts kept going back to your weight and then manifesting into thoughts of how Brie deserved better. A few tears started to roll down your cheeks and quickly turned into a full blown crying session. Unfortunately, that’s how you fell asleep that night.
Sun shining through the window woke you up the next morning. You groaned and faced the other direction, your arm automatically reaching out for Brie. Much to your disappointment, your arm just hit the cold sheets beside you. It was then the memories of last night came tumbling back.
You felt terrible for leaving Brie alone and so abruptly. You rolled out of bed and started the search for your phone. In your emotional state last night you forgot where you placed it. When you walked out into the living room, you were surprised to see Brie.
“Hey...I hope it’s okay that I let myself in. I used the key you gave me.” She explained sounding a little nervous.
“Yeah it’s okay. I’m actually glad you’re here, I wanted to apologize for last night.”
“You don’t have anything to apologize for, y/n. I’m the one who messed up.” Brie glanced down at the floor, looking like a sad puppy.
“What? Brie, you didn’t do anything wrong. I was the one who freaked out and ran away.”
“You ran away because I made you uncomfortable when I pulled you into my lap. I’m so sorry, y/n.”
“I wasn’t uncomfortable because you pulled me into your lap. I was uncomfortable because...” you paused, feeling overwhelmingly embarrassed.
“Because?”
“Because I was feeling insecure, okay? Everyone at the party was so thin and fit and I’m not like that. When you pulled me into your lap I felt like I was going to crush you.”
Brie’s expression changed from a serious frown to a held back smile. You felt a little upset that she was obviously amused.
“I can hip thrust four hundred pounds. You seriously think I couldn’t handle you sitting in my lap?”
“It was stupid I know. I just don’t always feel that great about myself and think you’d rather be with someone else.”
You wrapped your arms around yourself and tried to avoid looking at your girlfriend. Brie stepped closer to you and very carefully wrapped her arms around your waist.
“You may not think it, but you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
“Yeah right.” You scoffed before finally looking at Brie.
“I’m serious, y/n. You’re so beautiful it’s almost unfair to everyone else.” Brie leaned forward and kissed the tip of your nose, it was her way of reassuring you. The kiss made your lips jerk into a small smile which made Brie grin.
“I love your smile.”
“Yours isn’t half bad either.” You teased back, knowing it would intensify her grin.
“If you ever feel like this again, will you tell me? I want to help you.” You nervously bit your bottom lip and nodded.
“I will, just be patient with me. This isn’t easy to talk about.”
“I promise. I’ll always be here for you, y/n.”
Brie pulled you closer into a hug. You allowed your arms to fall and wrap around her lower back while your head rested on her shoulder. You knew this would probably happen again, but you couldn’t be bothered to care in the moment.

Markie Pooh’s Little Crush {Mark Tuan}
Tumblr media
Prompt: Mark’s been trying to tell you that he likes you, You’ve been trying to tell Mark you like him...
Pairing: Mark x Reader
Word Count: 1.4k
Warning: aggressive mark,
**Written for a friend,
"You've got to be kidding me!" Mark sighed, running his hands down his face. He watched you walk away with your date, wanting to hate how he made you smile but living for the way you smiled all the same. "I've dropped so many hints, how could she not get it?" He turned to Youngjae who looked up at his oldest hyung after locking his phone, giving him a small shrug.
"Maybe you aren't making it obvious enough." Mark scoffs, plopping down next to Youngjae.
"I don't know how much more obvious I can make it without basically coming out and saying...'I like you'." Youngjae clamps his hand down on Mark's shoulder,
"Then that's what you're going to have to do." He said it like it was so simple, easy.
"Yeah, and what if she doesn't like me back? What if I tell her how I feel and she's all like, 'well, see my tall, handsome, sharp jawed, buff, lean date? I love him and I'm never going to ?" Mark honestly felt like he could cry he felt so bad about the whole ordeal. "You know what, I don't even care, I'll just live with you and Jaebum, your happiness will be enough for me." Youngjae chuckles, picking up his phone again to text his boyfriend back, asking him where he was.
"Yeah," He trails off, "That is not happening," Youngjae's eyes scan the crowd and he finds you and your date over at the concession stand. "I don't know why you invited them to our weekly bowling night anyway, you knew she was going to bring him." Mark glares at Youngjae, who just puts his hands up, "Listen, I'm going to help," Youngjae moves his jacket from his lap and stands up, walking over to you and your date, Jinyong. "Hi, noona!" Youngjae hooks his arm with yours, "You look pretty,"  He sways back and forth, "You know who else thinks you look pretty?" He turns his head toward  Mark, you and your date both turning your heads to face him.
"Youngjae!" You scold but he doesn't say anything else, just rushes off backward Mark.
"What did you do?"
"I helped."
"It's working." You laugh, Jinyong nodding. "What if I'm going all this and he doesn't even like me?" You begin to worry again and Jinyong, your best friend's older brother, reminds you, he knows how guys act, he likes you. "Okay, ready?" You smile, taking the tray of foods, and Jinyong's hand.
"Yep." He smiles sweetly and leans down kissing your nose. You make a move to punch him not used to the awkward contact with him, but you look over to find Mark looking at the two of you.
"He looks mad," Jinyong chuckles and leads you back toward the others,
"Nah, he's pissed."
Mark shifts in his seat, twiddling his thumbs. "What exactly did you say to help?" Mark begins to bounce his knee, "Because it doesn't look like it helped much."
"Okay, I got Youngjae's nachos, Jaebum's coke, Yugyeom and Bam's small pizza, Jackson's Twizzlers, and Mark's Sprite." Jinyong sat the tray down and you pointed to each thing,
"Did you seriously forget about my candy?" Jinyoung gasps, holding a hand over his heart.
"Of course not." You pull the bag of skittles out your back pocket and toss them to Jinyoung who smiles happily. "Okay, I believe that's everyone, as soon as Jaebum oppa comes back in, we can start." As soon as you say it, Jaebum's rushing down to where you all were seating,
"Sorry, I had to pee." Jaebum smiles, before sitting down next to Youngjae, "What did I miss?"
"Nothing! We were just starting. Teams are, Youngjae, Jaebum, Mark, Jinyong, and Jackson vs. Yugyeom, Me, BamBam and Jinyoung." You push Jinyong toward Mark and Youngjae, "Come here you two," You point toward Bam and  Yugyeom, Jinyoung already sitting behind you. "Okay, I think that's everyone, let's go!"
"Could you two stop?" Mark asked, immediately covering his mouth as soon as the words came out. You and Jinyong pull look over toward Mark, after simply cuddling as you waited for your turns.
"I'm sorry what are we doing exactly?" Jinyong stands up and you furrow your brows, this not being part of the plan.
Mark was going to apologize but he stood up as well feeling like Jinyong was toeing the line. "First of all you can sit back down, I didn't mean to say it, it was just the slip of the tongue." Jinyong furrows his brows, not liking the way Mark was talking to him. He quickly glances back at you before turning back toward Mark, pushing his shoulders. Mark looks down, his tongue poking the inside of his cheek. Mark looks over Jinyong's shoulder before he balls his hand into a fist, connecting it with his jaw.
"Oh my god!" You immediately jump up, moving in between the two of them. You whisper an apology to Jinyong, asking Youngjae to go get him some ice. "You. Come with me." You grab Mark's wrist pulling him away from the scene. You pull him outside of the building, noticing it had gotten dark during your time there. There was a slight chill but you shook it off, turning all your attention back toward the pacing Mark.
"I want to apologize but I cant. Why would you bring him here? Why would you go and get a date? Do I not make myself clear, or do you just not like me?" You cock your head to the side. "God, no offense but you really are so oblivious! Do I have to spell it out for you? I-L-I-K-E-Y-O-U!" You take just a sec to comprehend what he was saying, gasping as you realize he was confessing his feelings for you.
"I like you too!" You slap his shoulder, "This is kind of embarrassing but Jinyong isn't my date, he's my best friend's brother. He owed me a favor so I asked him to help make you jealous to see if you liked me." You shyly look away, tucking a piece of your hair behind your ear. "I guess it worked, seeing as you punched him in the face."  Mark awkwardly chuckles, scratching the back of his neck.
"Yeah about that." You shake your head,
"He told me he was prepared to take a punch or two," You move in closer to Mark, playing with the ends of his jacket. "Although...that was really hot..." You bite your lip, and Mark laughs taking a step back,
"Whoa there missy at least let me buy you dinner before you try to get into my pants." He grabs both your hands and has them cup his face, "God, I've waited so long to hear you say those words." He pulls your hands away, kissing your knuckles. "You didn't have to go through so much trouble to see if I liked you, you could've just asked me." You shrug, slowly nodding your head,
"You have your ways, I have mine."
"That's not a good case, none of my ways worked!" Mark recalls all the times he had tried to hint toward you that he liked you.
"We should probably head back in, you have someone to apologize to." Mark looks at the bowling alley and then toward the parking lot,
"Or, or, consider this--" He pulls the car keys from his back pocket dangling them in front of your face, "We could take the car and go out to eat somewhere..." His eyes shift over your face, a hopeful glisten in them. "Your choice, since I kind of punched your date." You scoff,
"Kind of? I'm surprised he's not here beating your ass, despite what he said, he's kind of a hot head." Mark's mouth drops,
"Hmm, maybe we should go?" He laughs, grabbing your wrist pulling you toward the car.
"Wait, you have to ask me!" You plant your feet,
"Ask you what?"
"On a date, make it like the movies." You sigh dramatically flipping your hair.
"Okay, okay, fine. Y/N, the woman of my dreams, literally, will you do me the honor of going to a late, late dinner with me?" You hold your hand over your heart, grabbing his with the other.
"I'd be honored!"

A Celiac's Favorite Gluten Free Healthy Snacks For Working From Home
New blog post!
*Some of the brands mentioned in this post sent me samples of their products to review and consider for editorial coverage, but I only share products I really love and all opinions and photographs are my own*
Healthy snacks for work are always important to have on hand, but perhaps even more so now that many people are working at home because of the Coronavirus outbreak. After all, sometimes it can be tough to schedule a consistent lunch break when your virtual to-do list seems never-ending...and it can feel super easy to rely on easily accessible junk food to fuel your at-home work day.
That's why I thought now would be a great time to share some of my favorite healthy snacks for work. Although I've been working from home as a freelance writer for over four years now, transitioning the college class I teach to an online medium has kept me more than busy, so all these healthy snacks have saved my day many times already. So whether you're looking for yummy vegan protein drinks and mug cakes, healthier chips or a mix of sweet and savory snacks, this healthy snacks for work round up should give you some more ideas on what products to stock up on in the coming weeks for delicious at-home fuel. And if these healthy snacks also just happen to taste freakin' amazing...well, that just makes your snack break at "work" even better!
Sweet Gluten Free and Healthy Snacks for Work From Home Living:
Emmy's organics coconut cookies
If you love coconut, then this gluten free dessert is your dream come true. These coconut cookies definitely aren't traditional - they're very dense, a mix of chewy and crumbly, and on the slight side of sweet. But I love crumbling them on smoothie bowls or pairing them with nut butter. So far, my favorite flavors are dark chocolate, dark chocolate chip, and vanilla.
Lily's sugar-free dark chocolate chips
If you love chocolate but are watching your sugar intake, Lily's sugar-free dark chocolate is your healthy dessert soulmate. Their dark chocolate baking chips are sweetened with stevia, and they taste just as delicious eaten straight out of the bag (or with nut butter....drooool) or used in baked goods. This chocolate does contain dairy, but as long as milk and stevia don't bother you, these are delicious chocolate chips to have on hand.
Owyn protein drink
As I've shared on my Instagram before, Owyn's protein drinks are my go-to protein source when I'm traveling. Besides being certified gluten free, their drinks are packed with 20 grams of plant-based protein. I've tried their dark chocolate, vanilla and cookies n' cream flavors and enjoyed them all!
Barnana banana bites
I won these banana bites in an Instagram giveaway a few weeks ago, and I am officially OBSESSED. If you like sweet snacks, these banana bites will definitely curb that sweet craving with just one simple ingredient: dried bananas. I've also tried their banana coconut bites, and they are just as delicious.
Woah! Dough bars
I won a five-pack of Woah! Dough bars on Instagram a few weeks ago, and I'll start out by saying that these bars are aptly named. Because I definitely thought, "Woah!" when I took my first bite and realized that it legit tasted like some cookie dough dessert. They're made with healthy ingredients like almond flour, almond butter, organic honey and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and are not only gluten free but also dairy free and soy free. And I LOVED every single flavor, so any of them would make for a pretty dang delicious snack break in my book!
The Amazing Chickpea Spread
If you're looking for a healthy snack that is high in protein but free of nuts, this chickpea spread is mind-blowing. I've been trying to prioritize plant-based protein lately, and this has definitely helped with that.
Birch benders pancakes and waffles
It's important to note that Birch Benders produces a TON of different pancake products, including ones that aren't gluten free, so make sure you check which mix you get. However, I absolutely love their Classic Gluten Free, Paleo and Banana Paleo mixes. My favorite part is that you can make so more than just pancakes and waffles with the mixes. You can also make pancake "loafs," muffins and more - which are perfect snacks to prep as a healthy snack for work!
Rule Breakers Bites
I've written about the delicious magic of Rule Breakers' chickpea-based desserts before, but they recently released bites. Each bite is around the size of a quarter but super thick. I've tried the vegan dark chocolate brownie bites, and they were seriously addictive. I loved the huge chunks of chocolate dispersed throughout and the chewy, fudgy texture.
Savory Gluten Free and Healthy Snacks for Work From Home Living:
Crunchsters
When I'm craving a savory healthy snack for work, I've found myself reaching for Crunchsters more often than not. They were kind enough to send a few samples my way, and I've been loving that Crunchsters are high in vegan protein thanks to mung beans. So far, I've tried their Sea Salt, BBQ and Smoky Balsamic and enjoyed all three flavors. (And these were AWESOME healthy snacks to have on my road-trip from Minnesota to Colorado!).
Chomps Turkey Jerky
I've never been a huge fan of beef jerky, but ever since I discovered that Chomps offers turkey jerky, it's become one of my go-to healthy snacks for work when I need an easy source of protein. Their turkey jerky doesn't taste overly salty and I think the package is the perfect size. I've tried their Original Turkey Jerky, which is my favorite, but also like the Jalapeno Turkey Jerky, which definitely has a kick but is still tolerable by spice-avoidant people like me.
Bada Bean Snacks
I know I've mentioned Bada Bean snacks in snack round ups before, but I just HAD to mention them again because I've literally gotten obsessed with their savory flavors. I thought their vegan broad bean snacks were good in cinnamon and cocoa flavors (and they are) but their range of savory flavors seriously blows my taste buds away. My favorites (in no particular order) include Mesquite BBQ, Sea Salt, Nacho Cheese (which is still vegan! LOVE!), Sweet Siracha, Zesty Ranch and Jalapeno Popper. I love snacking on these in the afternoons or with my lunch.
Terra Original Chips
If you love snacking on chips as much as I do, trying out Terra chips is a MUST. All their chips are made from whole root vegetables, ranging from purple sweet potato to kabocha squash. As for the taste? I'm embarrassed to say how quickly I got through a whole bag on my own! If you don't like the taste of veggies, these chips may not be for you. However, I love the earthy flavor of all the different vegetables and the crunch is out of this world.
What I Hope You Remember While Working - and Eating - From Home
At the end of the day, life is pretty scary right now with the Coronavirus outbreak and eating healthy while working from home may not be your priority. And while this is solely my personal opinion and I'm not a nutritionist or health professional, I believe that is 100% OK. Eat the ice cream if you're craving it. Enjoy more chips than you usually eat at once. Realize that right now is temporary, and it's normal for your eating habits to change right now as you cope with everything that's going on.
But if you DO want to enjoy some snacks that are not only healthy but also gluten free, allergy-friendly and insanely delicious, I hope this healthy snack for work round up gives you some tasty places to start!
Are you working from home right now? What snacks are you digging? Tell me in the comments!

What's something you couldn't live without, other than the obvious? It’d be very hard to have to get by without my glasses. I’d technically survive, but I’ll have to get used to bumping into things a lot and never recognizing anyone unless they’re right beside/in front of me. What's something that will always cheer you up? Dogs. Real life dogs, photos of dogs, videos of dogs, stories about dogs, etc. Who's had the biggest positive impact on your life? My orgmates. They made me happy when I needed it the most, called me out when I needed the help, and idk I’m just happy whenever I get to see them. I can’t recall a time where I felt like it was a chore to spend some time with them. Do you wear flip-flops during the winter? Sigh...moving on... What was the last thing you said out loud? I asked Nina to help me bring Cooper and his stuff up to my parents’ room; specifically, I asked her to bring his food and water bowls.
What's something that irritates you to no end? Backhand compliments. An uncle once congratulated me for getting into my dream school but ended his sentence with “are you sure you don’t wanna go to [2nd top university in the country, (which I also passed the day before)]? You’ll fit better there.” This was like two days after I found out I got into UP, so I was still on cloud nine. I don’t know how my face contorted after that but I wasn’t pleased.
Honestly, do looks matter to you? Yes, but not as much as personality and intelligence. When was the last time you had a girls/guys night out? Not sure. I just have nights out in general; I never plan out gender-exclusive hangouts with my friends. Do you still watch kiddie movies/tv shows? Sometimes, when I get in the mood to. It’s not something I feel the need to do regularly. What's your worst habit? Never learning my lesson and being careless just because everything is going well. Best way I can illustrate this is when a couple of a months ago I started getting regular headaches because I’d sleep at 3, 4 AM – I addressed it by giving myself an earlier bedtime. When the headaches went away and I started feeling better, I went right back to sleeping late lol. Procrastinating is a good example too; I’ve submitted work early occasionally and it’s satisfying as fuck, but I never learn for the most part and stick to doing stuff at the last minute. Do your parents call you by any embarrassing nicknames? No. Byn is a nickname, but I don’t find it embarrassing. Do you have road rage? Yeah but there have to be certain conditions for me to get to that point, like once I’ve seen enough stupidity on the road and I can’t take it anymore; when I’m tense about something; or when traffic has been standstill for too long. Is there a certain word that you always forget how to spell? Not really. I know my spelling pretty well. Are there any books in your room? Which ones? Yesssss but it’s mostly because I owned a lot of books as a kid and I’ve thrown none of them out. My book collection is sorely not updated because I stopped reading as I got older. Do you take too many surveys? I wouldn’t say I take too many, especially considering the fact that I used to take like 7-10 surveys everyday back in high school. I do take them regularly. Write some lyrics from the song you're currently listening to: "You know I’m always coming back to this place, you know I’m always gonna look for your face.”
When it comes to dating, what's your preferred age range? 0-1 year. When was the last time someone gave you a weird look? Continued the next morning, lol. I was dancing in my seat over dinner last night because the fried chicken we had was super good, so my mom looked at me strangely. Do you like to cuddle? Only with a significant other, and an animal if they’re willing to cuddle. Do you like the band Cartel? I don’t think I’ve heard of that band yet. Do you play any instruments? No, but I’m always wishing I could. Do you ever blare the music in the car and dance like an idiot? I used to do that when I drove to and from school. It’s the only time in the day where I’m not working and I’m alone, so I allow myself to let loose. Though I gotta say, most of it is recorded because I always have a dashcam on HAHAHAHA so I definitely have some footage I don’t want getting aired in like my funeral or something. Do you like playing in the rain? When I was a kid.
What's something you miss? Going to the mall is a big one. Anything unpleasant coming up soon? The worst thing I can think of is the first anniversary of Nacho’s passing. It’s not till September, but when I think about how March literally feels like yesterday September doesn’t seem too far away anymore. If you had a pet moose, what would you name him? Probably the name of another animal, like Cow. I’ve seen other people name their dogs the names of different animals and it has always sounded so hilarious to me. Do you often hold back what you really want to say? If it’s gonna make me look unnecessarily blunt and hurtful then yes. Are you currently wearing any jewlery? Nope. What was the last gift you gave to someone? Cooper, for Father’s Day. It was my mom’s idea but I helped chip in with the graduation money I got from one of my aunts. Do you decorate for Christmas? (If you celebrate it, that is.) We do. I’ll probably put a tree and some stockings up once I live alone, idk, just so I don’t feel too lonely. Are you hungry? A bit, but it’s manageable. On that note, I miss continental breakfasts. I’ve been having Filipino-style breakfast for months and I really would just like a goddamn croissant or bread rolls with butter for once, lol. When was the last time you went bowling? Sometime in September and October last year. Can you whistle? Yes. Is there a certain genre of music that you just can't stand? Country. Are you allergic to anything? Nope. How many pillows do you sleep with? Two. I lay my head on one and hug another. If I don’t have a ~hug pillow~ it takes much longer for me to fall asleep. You've just won a free vacation! Where do you want to go? Covid restrictions hypothetically put aside, I’d love to go on the New York/Texas trip I initially planned as my grad gift. Do you have a good relationship with your parents? I have a good relationship with my dad. But it’s not like I feel comfortable enough to tell either of my parents any of my secrets. What's your favorite thing about yourself? Gabie likes to tell me “you’re too selfless, you don’t have to help everyone” in sort of like an annoyed tone because that’s exactly what I do lol - help anyone, even if I have to go out of my way or even if it’ll inconvenience me to do it. But I love it about me. I like when I get to make people go home with one less issue on their shoulders. Do you have any health problems? Scoliosis. Have you ever had a near-death experience? Almost smashed into a car that suddenly braked while I was going 50, 60 kph. Are you extremely picky when it comes to guys/girls? That’s what demis essentially are, lol. Do you ever listen to classical music? It’s my last resort when I’m studying and no other music is helping me get focused. What was the last concert you attended? Paramore. What's a movie you'd like to see right now? (Old or new) Ammonite, it’s an upcoming film with Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan. Do you take life too seriously? Most of the time. I just find it necessary that way. When was the last time you were truly scared? This weekend when my mom watched a jumpscare with the sound on, so I heard the loud demon scream that came up in the end. What's the funniest trick you've ever pulled on anyone? I don’t like pulling tricks because I don’t like them pulled on me. The most I’ve done is take Gab’s phone and pretend with her that it’s lost. Do you like orange juice? I’ll drink it if it’s served for free, but I wouldn’t buy one for myself. Do you own any skinny jeans? Yes, nearly all my jeans are skinny. Do you have a diary/journal that you frequently write in? You’re looking at it. When was the last time you had a good workout? November, back when I still had that intense PE class that made me work out for an hour every Wednesday and Friday. Do you like your eye color? I find it too common but I’m not actively complaining about it. I don’t feel the need to change it. When was the last time you played with Play-Doh? Two or three years ago at a cousins’ place. One of them was still a baby then, so the toys they had around were clay and kinetic sand and stuff. What's something that you think people waste too much time on? Fighting on Facebook comments lol Do you think they should outlaw talking on your cell phone while driving? They already have, at least here. Are you embarrassed to burp or fart in front of your friends? For the most part. I’ll burp only in front of Angela and Gab. Do you like peanut butter cookies? Yesssssss, but I don’t get to have it a lot. :(

It’d be weird to be in a long-term relationship with someone I didn’t have a crush on haha.
