Solas: Soulmates implies a lack of free will. So no, it is not a belief I hold. But I will say that her spirit is rare and marvelous and that she is important to me. More important than I could’ve imagined.

Hello dear Mareena! <3 Hope you're well. Thanks ever so much for the ask! It just so happens for that second one, that I have a really good story (which hasn't been told yet) about Dahlia, so I'll choose her. (She's the favorite, but don't tell the others.)

🎂 Has your OC have any contradictory interests or traits to the first perception people have of them? How do they surprise people? Ahhh, an excellent question. Thank you for asking. So, Dahlia went to the College, and she is mainly a Restoration mage, but also dabbled in Destruction and a few other odds and ends here and there. Well, when she returned to Windhelm…well, she had a mage build—meaning she’s a skinny thing and not what you would expect to see for someone who would want to join a war or even know how to lift a sword. However, her father was a soldier in the Great War and a guard after that, so of course, he taught his daughter how to use her sword arm.

🍹Does your OC have any funny anecdotes told about them? Give Lydia a few drinks, and she will tell you anything you want to know. Actually, you don’t even have to give her a drink! She will happily tell you any embarrassing story about Dahlia, much to her chagrin. Like she might tell you about the time that she went down the wrong tunnel in a cave and ran into a bear—and then promptly came running and screaming back towards her. (Dahlia wasn’t always as skilled as she is now.) Oh, you mean you’ve heard that one? Okay, well what about the time that time she made out with a complete stranger after less than one tankard of mead? No? Allow me to elaborate then. She and Lydia had just returned to Whiterun after going through yet another Nordic ruin to find clues about Alduin’s whereabouts, and they both decided they needed a drink. They go to the Bannered Mare. They sit down. They order a drink from Hulda. Everything is normal for an outing at the local tavern, right? Well, suddenly this fellow “Sam Guevenne” (Is that even his real name?) comes up to her and challenges her to a drinking contest. Let me be clear. Drinking contests are not normally Dahlia’s thing, but there was just something about this guy which made her want to say yes. To this day, she still has no idea what he gave to her, but it was certainly not mead. Normally, due to her dragon blood, it is quite difficult to get Dahlia drunk. However, after only finishing half the tankard, she thought it a good idea to lean over and plant one right on this “man’s” lips. It’s a good thing that Lydia quite literally dragged her away. (Sam just gave her bad vibes.)

18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene. it's gotta be the study room scene in love is like ghosts! that scene is the first part of the fic that i wrote, and i feel like the banter is particularly on point. i always knew this scene was going to happen (if not necessarily how far it was going to go 😉), so it was just trying to build the atmosphere and the tension to make it a worthwhile payoff, particularly finding steve's breaking point

✅ What's something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don't mean to?

Little loving touches (hands brushing, quick forehead kisses, gentle shoulder squeezes, etc). It's most obvious with the Moon Moms trio due to the series' more fluffy nature, but even Let Me/Won't You Otohan displays affection (be it a little more sharply lol) with little gestures like this.

🤭 Do you have a favorite tag to use when posting your works?

I'm uncreative as hell when it comes to freeform tags, but the singular one that stands out is: "Imogen tops from the bottom despite Otohan's best efforts" because I think it speaks to their intimate relationship, sure, but also just how much more of a handle Imogen has over Otohan than they will ever admit she does.

Unfortunately, yes! My MOM knows I "write for fun," one of my cousins just straight up clocked me as "that kind of nerd that writes fanfiction," and bless my wonderfully supportive girlfriend, she brags to all her friends and coworkers and even sends them links! So much of Garak as a person starts to make sense once you know his childhood was a fucking gothic novel. His main playground was a graveyard and he'd play pretend by perfoming improv eulogies to an imagined audience. For a long time his main touchstone for most important figures from recent history is 'oh yeah I know about that guy my dad buried him. great flower arrangements for that one'. He finds out later his 'parents' are actually a brother and sister who had to get married to avoid the utter shame and social devastation of having a child born out of wedlock, and they live in the basement of his biological father's house. (the madwoman in the attic vs. the tiny elim in the basement.) His biological father calls himself his uncle and locks him in a closet whenever he fails to live up to his insane and unpredictable expectations and everyone just has to act like that's normal and expected, and his will hangs over everything at all times, unseen but always felt keener than anything else. The father who actually raised him grows the world's most beautiful (and as it turns out, most poisonous) orchids and keeps the mask of a god hidden in a box in his work shed. Everyone in the house is choking down secrets like it's the only air they know how to breathe anymore.

What I'm saying is that right from the get-go this guy never had the faintest shot at turning out normal, so I'm glad that by middle age he's found a way to get a bit silly with it as he continues to be deeply deeply not normal about anything ever <3

Me before completing the forest temple: okay I get that ocarina of time is fun and nostalgic for people but it’s a bit of a stretch to call it one of the greatest video games of all time

Me after completing the forest temple: By revealing that Link is not a Kokiri, but a Hylian, the game effectively strips him of his humble origins amongst a group of people that already fail to recognize him in his adult form. Thus, kokiri village instantly becomes a location that is no longer Link’s home in any sense, exacerbated by the fact that the game now loads up in the temple of time instead of Link’s bedroom— he is a stranger in the only place that has ever been familiar to him and he is depressingly reduced to his destiny alone. However, the subsequent introduction of the time travel mechanic, which allows the player to travel from the horrific apocalyptic future back to the idyllic past of Link’s childhood, gives new meaning to the idea of this “destiny”. In effect, Link is not a stock “chosen one”, but a protagonist who consciously decides to fight onwards. Link’s dual existence as a child who knows the grim future and as an adult who was powerless to stop disaster gives a sort of desperation to his character, because while it brings the player relief to revisit the Castle Town that is populated by cheerful villagers instead of lurking zombies, the story can only be progressed through the acknowledgement of reality — the decision to make those seven years pass again. Therefore, both the player and Link as a character must be proactive in their heroism and make the conscious choice to struggle onwards despite the darkness that permeates—
