What do you consider your first fandom? Not necessarily the first one that you created fan work for, but the first one that really gripped you and made you think of alternative stories for the characters outside of the show (or the canon), even if you didn't write them down?

Um, okay, so have you heard of the finale for the Mary Tyler Moore Show? Universally acclaimed, considered one of the best finales in the history of television?

I fuckin’ hated it.

I was a kid and Nick at Nite had aired the series and the finale pissed me off because (warning: spoilers for a TV show older than many of us) the found family broke up. And, yeah, the characters mourned for what they were about to lose and expressed their gratitude for each other, but the found family broke up and they were mostly jobless and crying.

So I wrote a little fix-in on notebook paper from school and that helped me feel better.

I wouldn’t say I was in the fandom — I consider Voyager my first fandom — but that was definitely my first fanwork and it was born of love for characters and my wish that the source material loved them the way I did.

7 - Why do they join their clubs?

Emil arguably creates the club, even though it's an unofficial club. Essentially, Emil, Jade, Jamil, Trey, and Ruggie all get together like once or twice a month late at night to cook and share meals for each other. After Trey invited him the first time, he realized he never felt more at home and never felt closer to any of his friends than he did in that moment. So in the very friendly and earnest way that he does, he insisted on taking on the prep work if the other four boys agreed to join in- to which they did. If it weren't for these events, his literally wouldn't have his romantic partner or his queer platonic partner.

Oisín... isn't really in any clubs I don't think? They probably should be but that hasn't exactly been on the forefront of my brain in considerations... and frankly, whenever I ask what club they wanna join, they just look at me like -_(ッ)_-

Kingsley honestly gets convinced by Jack to join the Track and Field club. Kingsley is convinced its great practice for keeping up his skills. But.... let's be real. This boy uses physical activity to let out his feelings. It's like... the only healthy coping mechanism he has.

11- Is there a character your OC sees as a sibling?

For Oisín? It's Ortho. I know you already know this, but 100% it's Ortho. Oisín dotes upon and loves Ortho so so much and often tries to step in to fill sibling like needs that often get left unmet. They don't want to replace Idia- not at all! But it literally breaks his heart to see Ortho not be able to experience all that he wants to. There's more here than that, but that's Book 6 spoilers.

Emil definitely ends up having Rook and Riddle take on older sibling like roles, and in some capacity though not a canon character, but in that way that trans people often take each other under their wings and build community, Emil does that with your boy Copper. Over time, Emil begins to see Copper like a younger sibling at some point.

Kingsley... that... that requires him to have good relationships with other students. ^^;

❣️ Do you currently have a beloved?

Ah... Well, not really, no. In recent past, I had a beloved that was quite dear to me, though. There's a line between what I can work with and what breaks the camel's back, and unfortunately they crossed it.

It's a bit of a process to let go of all the love I held for them, heh! Still, the position of my beloved is now entirely unoccupied.

💓 What type of yandere would you consider yourself?

Ooh, that's an interesting one. I suppose it depends on the classification that we're going with, hmm. I've used the ones you have posted about here, here, and here to answer.

When it comes to types: I find there's quite a number of them I relate to, but if I had to choose the top five that describe me, I'd pick dependent, obsessive, protective, worshipping, and stalker.

When it comes to the town list:

- Possessive type: enclosed world, clingy, sampling type, collector, observing.

- Shackling type: dependency.

- Intoxicated type: forthright (somewhat)

- Denpa Delusional type: self contained (somewhat), sociopath (somewhat).

- Love-Hate type: I love how pitiful you are.

For this section, I would have to admit that other variants could apply, depending on the darling (which is also the case for the ones I said somewhat for, though those were a tiny bit more applicable). Other than that, I picked the ones that have been more... Constant.

When it comes to the mbti: XAXL, though I'd say I'm leaning towards XAML (cruel/reverent, aware, manipulative, mostly lenient)

💞 What's your ideal future with your beloved?

Oh, well. There's always a lot of details best left open so as not to spoil the surprise, right?

Even so, it boils down to what you might observe from the previous answer. No matter what I must do, how much I have to dirty my hands, I'll get that perfect life with my beloved, where we can be together as long as I say, and there's no sort of nuisances or distractions in my darling's mind.

I'll keep them safe and loved, so why would they need anything else? Even if they may still lead a life (though not exactly unrestricted), at the end of the day it'll always come back to us.

I'll make them happy, and there's nothing in this world that could stop me.

recently puzzle told me that I should let myself work on the fun stuff instead of always trying to work on the knots and prime told me that I should write badly because if you write badly enough, you'll eventually produce what you're looking for (but you can't get there until you allow yourself to write something that doesn't immediately sell you)

And honestly, I'm okay with that — I'm trying in life, pursuing the things that i want most in life, setting healthy boundaries towards myself and others, holding myself accountable while also encouraging myself to doing and being better. I'm still looking up, anon 😊😊

“Look to the sky”?

oh that's definitely something that has to do with hope and overcoming struggles/your darkest days. first character that came to mind was maybe finrod? but then i thought of that dialogue between maglor and maedhros about the silmaril/earendil in the sky so... maybe that's a story about Maglor and Earendil? I remember having an idea for a fic like that - it was supposed to be series of short drabbles about their relationship evolving

of course earendil resents maglor, but, really, seeing your enemy lamenting on the seashore while being a pathetic hermit gets boring after a few centuries. besides, maglor did raise elrond and elros, and they loved him.

so one night, when Vingilot approaches Middle-Earth, he notices maglor passed out on the beach, and, well. what do you do when your enemy (?) is passed out on a beach? that's right. for some reason you direct your space boat to the sea. your foot technically doesn't touch middle-earth, but you can still get pretty close to wake up the kinslayer and tell him to sleep further from the waves before tide approaches

i have no idea what happens in between, but i think it would be nice if by the end (maybe somewhere in 3rd age?) earendil took maglor to valinor

More asks because I'm nosy: Is there a scene from one of your fics that you wrote (or thought of) and really liked the idea of, but it didn't end up working in the final fic so you left it out? Or, if more than one, which hurt the most to leave out?

In The Monster, Raffi was supposed to try to help Cris after Vandermeer died in 9/11. But any which way I tried to include it, the story sunk under the weight of Cris’ pain — and, in canon, Cris’ recovery from grief doesn’t truly begin after the events of the story … so I regretfully left it out.

Also, in Youthful Exuberance, I wanted to do more (so much more) with La’an as family-in-law to Chris’ mom, but ended up cutting the references and exchanges because they didn’t flow properly. (*lovingly smacks roof of story* This baby can fit so much surrogate family for La’an in it. *lovingly smacks own head* But not Chris’ mom because she didn’t fit.)

I do think anything cut is for the benefit of the story (usually), so that’s something.

2. How long have you been drawing?

For as long as I've existed, probably. I remember drawing so much in school. Like in 4th grade I was drawing dragons all over everything and in middle school I drew anime characters and generally was not very good at it but kept doing it anyways. In high school I took art classes and definitely got a bit better but still not great. Still got a 6 on my IB Art exam though, so I am still rather proud of that! That was back in 2013. I don't think I really started developing as an artist until I was in college. Like I hadn't really drawn anything since high school art classes and then in early 2016 I discovered blorbo and so I got super into drawing again, and got a tablet that summer and was like, all in, and I took drawing classes again in college and it felt great and I learned a lot. Then I graduated college in 2017, had to move back in with my parents, slipped into a deep depression, and didn't pick up my tablet or any kind of drawing utensil until this year, when I saw the Kenobi trailer and I really got the itch again. It was like I awakened. I'm in a much better place in my life now, and have so much creative energy that I have to put out, and I feel like I'm advancing pretty quickly again.

9. How much time do you spend drawing on an average day?

Like 2-3ish hours on a weekday and then like 4-8 hours on a "weekend" day. My weekends are not standard Sat/Sun so a lot of times my husband will be at work all day and I'll draw or crochet during his work shift.

20. What is the easiest thing for you to draw?

Hmmmmm. I like the sketch layer, because it is so free-form and it is really easy to quickly bang out ideas. And your eye naturally connects the messy lines to find the best shape, so they usually look pretty good too. Like that sketch for my WIP yesterday was definitely less than 30 minutes, and most of that would have been refining the face. Subject wise? Probably torsos. But I enjoy facial expressions the most.

26. For digital artists: what program(s) do you use?

Clip Studio Paint mostly. I tried Painter Essentials and didn't love it. I used to use a mix of Photoshop and CSP, but 1) expense of PS obviously, 2) PS kept crashing on me 3) I like the brush tools in CSP. Now, I still think there are some things I prefer about PS. Particularly in regards to filters, textures, clipping masks, transformations, etc.. I think that's where PS really shines. But CSP is still overall a better value and a better program.

Characters: Is there something you always incorporate into your characters? If so, what is it? (If N/A, then what is your favorite character trait?)

I am quite agreeable, in fact. Thank you for asking! I don't have too many followers, so if you're ever thinking about shooting me an ask, the answer is always feel free! I try to answer most things. Within reason, anyway. Now, for the question. I honestly make a lot of skeletons. I am precisely what it says on the tin. It's just a barrel of laughs for me to make a character who is simply bones, rattling around. I wouldn't say that I always do it, but given free rein, I love to do it. I also make a lot of paternal figures of varying quality. Good dads, bad dads, absent dads, adoptive dads, cursed dads, mad dads, you name it. I think the thing I like best, though, is a character who has so many problems. Nothing thrills me like the words "something went wrong," except perhaps the words "and it kept going wrong." It makes me cackle right out loud to describe what an absurdly difficult time my beloved character is having. This can also be true about characters that aren't even mine. Sometimes I think about Mr. Night from Jupiter Ascending and I simply lose my mind. I also feel this about Jin Park from Alchemy of Souls (he is almost constantly screaming inside and I love that for him so much. I simply cannot agree with all the flak he gets. That man is in quite the pickle, and the more he tries to get out of it, the deeper in he goes. It's my favorite thing.) Sometimes these things come together for me in a perfect storm of character design.

M: What’s the weirdest AU scenario you’ve ever come up with?  Did it turn into a story?

So I wrote This one goes out to the one I love as a canon complaint story of Jesse being corrupted by Caufied. He loved Mimi but ignores her warnings about touching things from other words and becomes the character we know. But I kind of fell in love with Jesse and Mimi as a couple so I imagine an AU where Jesse doesn't become evil. He and Mimi get married and raise the kids together. He helps Walt adopt Michael and eventually Dallas. The kids , including Maria, grow up knowing who they are. Once his father is dead, he shuts down Caufield and Nora gets a few years with Michael. Alex and Michael still fall in love. So my weirdest AU is Jesse Manes good father, husband and alien friendly.

N: Any fic ideas brewing that you’d care to share?

A lot of my ideas come from music. I was listening to Young the Giant's song Wake Up and this line really struck me "Nirvana on the last try." Since another line is "I was here before in a different body" my first thought was something where the console or Jones should Michael all these other lives he could live and he has to choose. But that just wasn't working for me. I forgot about it until one day I realized the story was Alex dying in the pocket dimension and Michael going back to change decisions he made about them in the past to try and prevent it.

Z: Is there a story you’ve written that doesn’t seem to get much love?

Anything non Malex is generally going to get very little attention. But I've my Malex fics, I would say my Malex remix fic All of the things that give me love has struggled to find an audience even by my normal fly under the radar standards.

I know you don't work for the network. Most people in the world don't. But many many times, people come from outside places to make shows.

And it could be that this prequel is successful, and they decide to make more, so develop an idea and pitch it to people!

It'll succeed. Anything with the NCIS name attached to it succeeds (only thing that didn't was that Red Team idea, but that was just a backdoor pilot). I just worry that Linda might not live long enough to do such a prequel if it's ever made. (all these old people dying each day makes me paranoid).
