2. What would they do if the other woke in a manic state after a nightmare?

this definitely happens more and more as the war goes on, for both of them. i think Cinta tries to brush it off as not a big deal and Vel doesn't want to make it a big deal so she just stays where she is and just talks, real calm and quiet, not really about anything in particular, until she takes Cinta's mind off it enough so she can go back to sleep. probably also holds her hand so she knows it's real and someone is there for her when it's Vel, Cinta will get up and make her some tea and then they sit up together in bed with Cinta just holding her and stroking her hair and okay i'm moving on before i start crying

3. Do they wear the other’s clothes? (sweatshirt, bandana, necklace, etc.)

all the time. except for Vel's fancy person clothes. Cinta won't touch those

4. Which one is more protective? Who needs to be ‘protected’?

Vel on both counts mostly joking, i think she can handle herself. but for real I think they both do plenty of protecting of each other when it doesn't put the mission in jeopardy

5. Describe their cozy night in.

hard to fathom that ever happening but i enjoy doing it. first of all, it would take literal years for Vel to convince Cinta that that's even possible. a night off? alone? without even making plans to attack some imps? but eventually they're on yavin and Vel convinces Mon to order Cinta to take a night off with her. there's not a lot of options for what to do so Vel just grabs them some food from the dining hall or whatever on base, steals a bottle of wine from someone who pissed her off a week ago, and asks to borrow a holo-vid from Melshi's collection of movies he snuck onto base. he doesn't have any of her favorites, but she picks one she thinks Cinta will tolerate (she ends up loving it). they just lock their door and eat and drink and watch the movie and cuddle and it's by far the best date they've ever had where no one died

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. A lovely tearjerking story about holding your loved ones close that makes for a great gift. Also, one of the characters is the actual literary embodiment of "right where you left me" by TS.

20. Recommend a book!

So Many Beginnings by Bethany C. Morrow. It's a remix of Little Women centering around a Black family living in a freedpeople's colony. The writing is beautiful and the ending will satisfy everyone who didn't like Jo's ending in the original novel and even those who did like it (like me!)

8. fic you think should be mandatory reading

i think it's been said so often before, but cool things to say to your soulmate by @love-leah and @powerful-owl is just absolutely fantastic. i think it's a masterclass in soulmate fic, and i just keep going back to it, thinking about different fics, only to realise they're all within the same collection. absolutely wonderful.

17. a fic that felt like a warm blanket

to be honest, the first fic i thought of was home come next spring also by @love-leah but that's from 2022 so that would be cheating ..

i'm quite a big fan of the heart out series by @drivestraight (girl!max my beloved). i think it's a very fresh and fun take on the lestappen dynamic, and i really enjoyed the entire fic verse!

i also really enjoy the prompt fic by @officialmood about daniel's perspective of max inviting arnaud to the spanish gp. it's just a very lovely story that has lived in my head for quite a while now :)

BREAK: What would cause your OC to break down completely? What do they look like when that happens? Has anyone ever seen them at their lowest?

It would take a lot to actually break her psyche. She didn't spend all those years learning and meditating to find balance within her mind and self for nothing.

She had gone through so much on Toril. Seen so many horrific things that would break anyone. Yet she had been able to steel her mind and carry forward, as she always had.

But she had also gained something that gave her a new drive in life, a purpose to keep going--the family she had created with Halsin and the orphans. She never thought she'd care for a bunch of children on some random realm, yet through Halsin, she had learned patience and the importance and joys of nurturing new life.

Qi had fallen in love with the slow pace this new life had offered. She finally found the place she belongs. If anything were to threaten or tear it down, I think she'd finally reach an actual breaking point. To lose everything she had built from the ground up in a previously cursed land with the one she harbors the most love and respect she's ever had for... it would be extremely devastating, to say the least.

There's no telling what she'd do in response, but it would not be pretty. She may just lose herself to a path of insatiable bloodlust.

DESIRE: What's one thing your OC wants more than anything in the world? Are they open with that desire? Why or why not? What would they do to fulfill it?

For her people to knock it the fuck off. The Githyanki, Githzerai, Sha'sal Khou... all of the factions that have splintered off.

Although she had abandoned her Sha'sal Khou family, she still believes in their cause to some degree. She only wishes the leaders on top would stop trying to take control for themselves.

She wants unification of her people more than anything, and she sees hope and progress in Lae'zel--a Githyanki she had only seen as helpless before. But if she was able to swallow her pride and change her views, then maybe the Gith aren't so lost after all.

NIGHTMARE: What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself?

It's a recent event for her, but I think abandoning the crew that took her in, when she needed freedom the most, during the Ghaik attack on Crèche K'liir would start to finally catch up to her.

So consumed by her own agenda at the time, that she didn't consider the lasting aftermath.

Images of her brothers and sisters being slaughtered and taken as illithid thralls drill their way into her sleeping mind. As she's climbing onto the fated Nautiloid, she locks eyes with her Kith'rak, frozen on the docks, staring--seething--at her amidst the chaos in such disbelief of her actions (or lack thereof) while screaming her name, staining it with "hshar'lak" and "is'tark" with such a seering poison on his tongue that she could feel the sting on her fresh cuts just long enough before he, too, is cut down.

No one had held more trust--more love--for her than he did, all to receive a knife to his back for all that he had given her.

At the time, she was willing to do anything to be free--including betrayal. But that had come to prove as such a moral failure on her character that it began to haunt her dreams.

It's difficult to process and therefore difficult to tell others up front. Although she doesn't necessarily need to, considering the tadpoles. Unfortunately, they reveal this secret to those Qi connects with. She doesn't regret leaving, for all that it's worth. She's glad that she is her own person now. But she wishes it had been under different circumstances--that it wasn't the last thing her Kith'rak witnessed before being taken.

Okay, so this is actually a true "truth" question as in owning up. I'm afraid I had a little bit of a rebel phase when I was around 13, 14 (I think), in which I did some tagging/graffiti 🙈 Nothing too bad, I believed back then (of course I know now that there is no excuse, it was vandalism and nothing else), but when my dad was about to find out I knew it would be bad. I lied straight to his face about not being involved and he believed me. And that's the part I'd feel worst about when he'd find out all these years later. He trusted me blindly and never stopped doing that, but I surely don't deserve all of that (even though I turned out alright).

1. A theater show in two weeks about Don Quichot, starring one of my fav Dutch artists. Just a fun night out. 2. The start of the new outdoor tennis season, early april. Both are pretty affectionate to each other. Yorinobu shows his affection in grander ways, while Rooney is rather subtle about their affection.

🕸 - What does one do that scares the other?

Rooney scares Yorinobu because they’re so quiet. (They’re just naturally quiet, and the Araska enhancements also made their movements stealthier.) Rooney will appear next to him when he least expects it and nearly give him a heart attack.

🌙 - Who is a night person?

Both? Rooney is consistently a night person, but Yorinobu can be a night person due to time zone differences.

🌺 - Do they send cutesy or grossly sweet/romantic texts to each other?

Neither are the grossly sweet/romantic texts type. (Rooney and Yorinobu aren’t really grossly sweet/romantic people.) But Rooney is the type of person to see the night sky and text Yorinobu to say that they’re thinking of him.

Oh, god. Let's just ignore all the bad OCs I wrote in fanfiction.net PMs and go with my first writing blog. It was for a character from the Walking Dead Game who died within like, five minutes of showing up. I wanted to join the RPC, but I didn't want to write an OC and wasn't confident enough to write a real canon character, so I just picked one that was already dead lmao. He was the guy that gets his leg caught in a bear trap in Episode 2 or 3, can't quite remember.

Honestly, I think my favorite part is just the sense of community. I mean, I enjoy getting to flex my creative muscles and building up ideas, but my favorite part is just like- Making friends with similar interests. Feeling like I've got somewhere I belong to.

Ooo, I think... It probably depends on who's asking?

I LOVE talking to other fic writers and fans about ideas and plots and characters and such, but non-fandom folks don't tend to get writing as purely a hobby, so it can turn really awkward really quickly. (Especially when they inevitably ask what I write, because apparently "emotional turmoil and character studies disguised as smut" isn't an appropriate answer 😅)

44. What mistakes do you keep making no matter how many times your beta corrects you?

Listen! I am providing @benbamboozled with regular enrichment by using hyphens instead of en- or em-dashes 😂

It's always incredibly flattering when somebody picks up a theme or a line that they liked the most. I absolutely love it, and I need to get better at doing it (it's easier on desktop and I'm so often out and about on mobile!) I also LOVE when people have questions! Oh my gosh it's the best.

✨What's a fic you've posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (or simply a fic you wish got more credit)

The Ever After is one of my favourite things I've written, full stop. It's a short fic about Blackwall in the pre-trespasser, post-DAI attempt to atone. It's very human and flawed and I think not everybody liked the direction of it, but I've always been proud of how it turned out.

💘Is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write?

I feel like a lot of my fic written in the pandemic was a bit lacking in action. I could have done more to flesh them out.

🌿how does creating make you feel?

Hm. I don't know. I think I like it a lot more than I used to. I used to feel like writing was like throwing up words lmao, it was really compulsive. Now I like the problem solving. I still prefer having created than being in the mire.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?

ALL THE PORN. Christ. It drives me insane. What You Deserve in particular took so many drafts. I'm not a very visual person so it takes a bit of work to remember what's where lmao.
