"Shame Shorts"

"Please welcome Tenoch Huerta and (Y/n) (L/n)!!" Jimmy Kimmel announced and the audience cheered. Tenoch and you walked outside by side waving at your fans. This felt like a dream come true. After all these years of acting, this was your big break. You quickly hug Jimmy before settling down. The host started by asking Tenoch how landing the role of Namor was. Of course, he retells the hilarious zoom call including the 'I never drown before' line. You and everyone else laugh at his story seeing the comedy.
"What about you (Y/n)? How does it feel being the Queen of Talokan? Did your zoom meeting freeze as well?" Jimmy smirked.
"No! I almost choked on my drink when my Agent said Ryan Coogler requested a Zoom meeting. We talked about the character and his idea for the movie. I didn't hesitate to say yes. But unlike some I knew how to swim.", You chuckle as Tenoch grins putting his head on your shoulder.
For the past year, you and Tenoch have been inseparable. The teenager's crush on both sides had been obvious to everyone but you and Tenoch. You never revealed this to anyone but after the call with Ryan, the curiosity got the better of you. He mentioned Tenoch Huerta would be playing Namor. The King of Talokan and (Y/c/n)'s husband. So you googled him. Oh God had you been surprised by this sexy man.
The interview continued, finally landing on the topic of their outfits. Jimmy mentioned how kids missed dressing as Namor or (Y/c/n) for Halloween. Tenoch shook his head no. The host then pulled out a picture of Namor's comic outfit.
"So instead of going full speedo, you went boxer brief shorts?" Jimmy asked and you see Tenoch nod. "Did you or the producer name this call?"
"Thankfully the producer."
"But I did I ask for a full body suit with muscles included….but I didn't get that." He adds, causing everyone to laugh. "So I call them the shame short."
"Same shorts?!" Jimmy chuckled. You rolled your eyes.
"I don't see them as shame shorts. In fact- I asked them to do the speedo." You admit finally.
"Is that why they talked about making them shorter?!" Tenoch looked at you flushed.
"Yes. But for reasons they did not. I honestly was upset about it." You add having no shame when the audience chuckled. "However they did make the shorts tighter than originally planned. I asked for them to be tighter around the crotch area but sadly they said no."
"(Y/n)! You are making us blush!" Jimmy said. "Tenoch, did you know this?"
"N-No! I had no clue!" He adds turning to you crossing his arms pretending to be upset.
"I mean look at him. We all know the internet simps for this sexy man. So I was doing all of us a favor…for him to show off all his assets."
"(Y/N)!" Tenoch blushed. The crowd whistled when Jimmy pulled up a picture of Tenoch's shirtless body.
"See what I mean?!" You laughed and pulled Tenoch against you.
The show ended and you both left the stage. He moved in front of you. His cheeks still have a faint tint of red. "You!"
"What Tenoch? I was being honest." You laughed and took his hand going back into the waiting room until your shared car would be ready and heated properly.
"What assets are you talking about anyway?" He questioned sitting beside you. The man smelled like warm spices, his dark brown eyes gazed into your (e/c) orbs. It had been a hard month containing your feelings for Tenoch.
"Your-...area." You answer shly
"Maybe in the next movie, I could get a new outfit. I will wear a speedo if…you go topless?"
"TENOCH HUERTA!" You yelled playfully, slapping his chest. He grabbed your wrist. For a second there is no sound. You two simply stared at each other. Tenoch slides his hand up your arm to your shoulder and cupped your cheek. In an instant his lips captured yours. You tangle your hands in his soft hair. He moved you back on the couch slightly on top of you.
"Tenoch (Y/n) the car- oh…Sorry…By the way make sure to tell Winston he owes me $25." Jimmy said before backing out of the room.
"They had a bet on us?" Tenoch whispered, standing and takes your hand.
"I guess so." You chuckled.

The effort to discredit Namuri/Nashuri explained:
There is a collective effort to kill the Namuri/Nashuri ship since Letitia Wright spoke out against “The Hollywood Reporter” for wrongly associating her with abusers in the industry.(TRULY NASTY WORK)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This ship is the best thing to happen to Tenoch & Letitia’s career. Giving them a level of name recognition they have never had before but writer at media outlets are manipulating a quote Tenoch made about the nature of the relationship between their respective characters Namor & Shuri in order to shut the most popular and fastest growing ship in Marvel history.
Tenoch explains the ambiguity of their relationship.
Tumblr media
Here he focuses on the intimacy and shared background of the pair. Keeping it open ended in an effort to avoid disrupting any future plans for the characters. None of what he explains shuts down the ship. And yet these publications RIGHT AFTER THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER WAS CALLED OUT choose to present it this way:
Tumblr media
They are trying to discourage shippers online who are elevating the names of two extremely underrated actors. This is to sabotage Letitia specifically for speaking out against the slanderous Hollywood Reporter article.
Please continue to ship guys, do not let these media outlets get to you. Our ship is making headlines which means we are doing something VERY RIGHT. Keep going. We haven’t had a ship this strong in all of Marvel’s history & incels in media outlets want to do everything they can to kill real romances in Marvel movies in order to keep female viewers away.
DO NOT LET THEM WIN!!! WE ARE STRONGER THAN THAT!!! KEEP MAKING FANFICS!!! KEEP MAKING FANART!!! KEEP MAKING DISCOURSE!!! MAKE SURE THEY HEAR US!!!

Marvel Studios: Voices Rising - The Music Of Wakanda Forever [Series]
Tumblr media
Episode #2: “Mexico: Con La Brisa” [available on Disney +] [w/ time stamps to follow along]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
▻ During the early stages, Ryan and Ludwig talked about how they can make this music [relating to Talokan] as authentic as possible. This brought them to Mexico City. Ludwig met with Camilo, the coordinator in Mexico City who helped put together musical sessions with artists. “I think the biggest challenge was for us to find musicians of our time who understood a little about what was happening in the Mayan Peninsula in the past. And there are very few specialists.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [2:43]
Tumblr media
▻ We are introduced to Alejandro Méndez [from Grupo Tribu] who is “one of the greatest connoisseurs.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [3:07] “Tribu is a group that emerged around the seventies. We initially started out doing rock. A type of fusion between rock and traditional Mexican instruments. A colleague and I from the group got a degree in archaeology and now we have the opportunity to access the excavations. There is a great legacy of information that is hidden or buried. That seems to us worthy of having these instruments also recovered, put back into circulation, because they are means of human expression.” - Alejandro Méndez [Musician] [3:20]
▻ Various Mayan instruments are played with such as, but not limited to: turtle shells, Teponaztli drum, seashells, “Flute of truth”, “Death whistle” and more. “People don’t know what the music sounded like. People don’t know exactly how the instruments were played. But we want to be as close as we could because we know what the instruments were [in the Codex].” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [4:08] Alejandro and various experts spent time with Ludwig experimenting with the sound of Mayan instruments and recording sound bites. These sounds eventually layed the foundation for the final score and parts of the soundtrack.
▻ “The seashell. I already knew we were going to use it because it was in the script. It is a big part of Namor’s character.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [6:11] “Seashells being played like you would play French horns. And hearing a guy breathe through a seashell, sticking his hand in it. It’s like brash and bombastic, and confident and weird. It does something new to you. It’s also romantic. He [Alejandro] kind of played Namor’s sadness. It eventually evolved to playing his grandeur and the power of all of that with the sadness. The idea of things that hurt you or do damage to you, you can decide to let those be the things that make you strong.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [6:29]
▻ The “Death whistle” has an arresting and unique sound to it. “This is how it has been named by accident, although it is not really a whistle that is dedicated to death. The wind blow of the wind is what generates life with an ancient Mexican mythology.” - Alejandro Méndez [Musician] [8:40] Ludwig loved the sound and wanted that to symbolize Namor’s power. We see that this instrument is used in the scene where Namor punches M’baku and shatters his breastplate, propelling him backwards [9:17]
Tumblr media
▻ “For me, this character [Namor] is demanding. We are reclaiming our origin. We’re talking about old grandparents, our old grandparents. And reconciling ourselves with that part. Doing this thing called techno futurism. Based on who we are, on our ancestors, on our grandparents. I think it’s a very important step because the stories you hear and literature and movies, and everything else taught us to be ashamed of who we are. And it’s time to stop feeling like this. The universe they built to sustain the story is very profound. It’s not just going to make it sound nice, but also give it meaning.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [10:29]
▻ “Since Mayan is the native tongue in the movie, it’s just right that we also get Mayan speaking artists as part of the soundtrack.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [11:32] We are introduced to hip hop artist “Pat Boy”. “All roads led us to a legend of hip-hop in Mayan named Pat boy. Pat has been essential for hip-hop in that area to grow, and above all, that it is sung in Mayan and with pride. He has a collective called Mayan DNA.” - Camilo Lara [Musician + Producer] [11:44] Their hip-hop track “Laayli' kuxa'ano'one” is an exploration of traditional and modern sounds.
▻ Ludwig catches up with actor Tenoch Huerta in his stomping grounds, and goes over recorded tracks with him in a studio. “Where did the Mayans go? Did they get on a UFO? No, they’re here. Where did the Aztecs go? Nowhere, we’re still in Mexico City. We need to start giving them a name and give them a face, and begin to give them a human sense. And stop putting them in museums so that they can be in popular imaginations, in current imaginations. So that they can be in fiction, on the screen, in books, in music, everywhere. And no longer be immovable statues you can’t talk about. No way. Because it’s us. Because we’re alive. And we didn’t go anywhere.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [14:33]
Tumblr media
▻ It took Ludwig and Camilo some time to tailor down the list of artists they felt were the future of Mexican music, who felt fresh and with an edge. Morning recording sessions were spent with traditional artists [ie. musicians, instrumentalists] and night sessions with contemporary artists [ie. singers, rappers, etc] “I didn’t dedicate myself to music as a child, nor did my family. At the age of 18, I found out that there is a career in music production in Monterrey. A classmate heard me sing and told me ‘you sing really nice, let’s make some music’ and that’s how I started.” - Foudeqush [Artist] [16:47] Ludwig sat down with Foudeqush and discussed writing a song that is based off of the Sun [thinking about when Namor shows Shuri the world of Talokan]. Ludwig played with sounds as she wrote melodies and prompted her to “Write as if you’re trying to describe the Sun to someone who has never seen the Sun.” - Foudeqush [Artist] [17:18] The track “Con La Brisa” was born. We learn that this track was written and recorded before either one of them was able to watch the official Talokan tour scene, which made this creation even more special.
▻ “With the first film, although there’s some brilliant women, that film was very much from a male perspective. And this film shifted that when Chadwick passed away. We made the decision that it’ll be Shuri’s story. And after that, it became clear that this was going to be a movie about mom’s flat out, through and through. And that was exhilarating for me. It represented a new opportunity to reflect on a very profound human relationship that frankly, there’s not enough movies about.” - Ryan Coogler [Director] [19:25]
▻ Ludwig met with artists Vivir Quintana and Mare Advertencia Lirika. Vivir’s song “Canción Sin Miedo” became an anthem for the feminist movement in Mexico and after listening, Ludwig was immediately struck by “her vocals and her voice and the confidence she had in her voice.” - Ludwig Göransson [Composer] [20:27] “It’s [the musical scene] still plagued by violence in Mexico. One of the things that saddens me is that despite us women succeeding in music, we have to make protest music. I think that there’s a lot of visibility lacking towards music made by women in Mexico.” - Vivir Quintana [Musician] [20:49] Ludwig had both Vivir and Mare sing and rap over a track, experimenting with the emphasis on their voices. “I am used to having to scream at the world in order to be heard. And this song implies that challenge. If we’ve always been yelling, how do we also negotiate with our voice now? I don’t need to yell. I don’t need to speak in a loud voice to consider my words valuable.” - Mare Advertencia Lirika [Artist] [22:48] The collaborative track “Árboles Bajo El Mar” sparked ideas of transformation and was eventually used during the scene of Namor’s birth.
Tumblr media
▻ We learn that Tenoch Huerta’s father practically forced him into acting workshops when he was younger. He enjoyed it a lot but having no representation in Mexico of actors with darker complexions, he didn’t have high hopes of becoming an actor. He wondered why his father pushed him in this direction and “My dad said ‘I saw something in you.’ And that’s it. I don’t know what he saw or didn’t see. But he saw me. And that’s what was important. Imagine everything I owe to him. When I was a child, I never saw myself on screen. And that’s what I hope for. That boys, and girls, children, don’t feel so alone. That they know that there was never anything wrong with them. What was wrong was the eyes that were seeing them. I want them to be able to dream. I want this character to make them dream. If I can do that, I wouldn’t ask anything more from life.” - Tenoch Huerta [Namor] [28:29]

Tenoch has got me curious about Namor. Like a good curious. Yes he is a beautiful man, but now I wanna learn about Namor. I had a co worker say Aquaman and Namor came out at the same time, comics wise
Hello Anon! I can definitely talk about Namor XD it's my favorite subject.
Namor was actually created in April 1939 by Bill Everett, his first comic was in Motion Pictures Funnies Weekly which was a promotional thing to be given out in theaters his first story was then later reprinted and expanded in Marvel Comics (1939) #1 (November 1939). So he was actually created one month before Batman, and two years before Aquaman (November 1941).
So a lot of people compare Namor and Aquaman but they are actually different; Namor has always been born of human father/atlantean mother, his father is a Sea Captain, Leonard McKenzie, and his mother is Princess Fen.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Aquaman was totally human at first, his dad did some experiments on him to give him the ability to breath underwater, etc. (More Fun Comics (1941) #73) However later Aquaman would change to have the same backstory as Namor, human father/royal atlantean mother.
Marvel Comics (1939) #1
Tumblr media
Namor is the first superhero in comics to fly, even before Hawkman, Shazam (captain marvel) and Superman, he is also the first comic anti-hero. Namor is also the first Marvel Mutant before the X-Men's creation. Fantastic Four (1961) Annual 1 published July 1963, that is still a couple of months before Uncanny X-Men (in September 1963)
Tumblr media
Namor’s character is really interesting and unique, he is seen as a villain by the surface world, and a hero to his people. He is the protector of his people, Atlantis, and the seas. He has the blood of Neptune and is a descendant of him. Namor is a Prince who was caught between two worlds and never belonging to either world, his people saw him as too human, and humans saw him as too atlantean. So he is often mistrusted and betrayed by both the Atlanteans and the Humans.
Rise of the Black Panther (2018) #2
Tumblr media
Not to mention that Namor and Aquaman both have very different personalities and morals, Namor tends to operate in a more gray area than Arthur does.
Sub-Mariner (2007) #4
Tumblr media
Namor used to be a very popular character in the Golden and Silver age of comics but due to Marvel not handling his character well and canceling his comics, etc., he has been in a steady decline until recent MCU Namor news, although Namor has always had a small loyal fan following.
Origins of Marvel Comics: X-Men (2010)
Tumblr media
In addition to being on several teams/starring in several books in the Marvel Universe, both hero and villain; X-Men, Fantastic Four, The Cabal, Avengers, Super Villain Team Up. He also co-founded some teams; Invaders, The Illuminati, The Defenders.
The Defenders art by Jorge Molina
Tumblr media
Namor has a very long history, he fought in WWll against the Nazis. In fact he was the first Marvel character to be featured fighting against Nazis on the cover of Marvel Mystery Comics (1939) #4 even before Captain America was created. Aquaman’s first appearance years later would also feature him fighting Nazis, but Namor did it first.
Tumblr media
Namor canonically has Mental Health Issues, his PTSD was finally acknowledged in Marvel’s Snapshot: Sub-Mariner (2020)
Tumblr media
Namor has always been coded as biracial man in the comics. His first enemies were white people who harmed his people, the subamariners (what the Atlanteans were called in the Golden Age) are also coded as a indigenous sea people. Namor means “Avenging Son” in Atlantean. (Bill Everett wanted a cool sounding name so he wrote a bunch of names backwards and settled on Roman > Namor.)
Motion Pictures Funnies Weekly (1939)/Marvel Comics (1939) #1
Tumblr media
Namor has had three major love interests in his life:
Betty Dean - a Human cop who was the first surface friend Namor ever had. They split up after the war as Namor had to return to Atlantis. She grows old while Namor stays young, but they reconnect as friends again later in life. Betty becomes the foster mother to Nita (Namor’s little cousin) and then later she dies after trying to protect Namor.
Tumblr media
Lady Dorma - Namor’s first wife, an Atlantean Noble Woman who had been friends with Namor since they were young, both growing up in Atlantis. Dorma had been in love with Namor for years before he realized he had feelings for her too. She was murdered on their wedding day by Empress Llyra, when she tried to save Namor, she dies in Namor’s arms.
I had this gorgeous art of Namor/Dorma on their wedding day commissioned from  @pointdotiozao
Tumblr media
Marrina Smallwood - an Aquatic Alien who was raised by humans. She and Namor meet many years after Dorma’s death and Namor falls in love. They were married and lived happily for a time until Marrina began to turn into a sea monster. She begs Namor to end her life before she takes another life as she was a very good kind person who could not stand the thought of hurting people.
Tumblr media
If you want to read up more about Namor then I have a reading guide here
Tumblr media
Namor is a very arrogant, proud, and emotional flawed character and under all his salty bitchiness he has a good heart. He isn’t afraid to stand up for people who can’t defend themselves and is often conflicted with his human and atlantean sides.
Art by Nick Robles
Tumblr media
Also his catchphrase is IMPERIUS REX!

I... might have made a mistake.
I've got a Nescient character named 'Tenoch' - he's a farmer married to another farmer guy. I picked the name out of a list of cool-sounding Aztec names years ago.
I just looked up the meaning of the name.
It means 'fruit'.
...
Help me, should I change it?

I know bow is not a good time to make jokes but why not we need a little sunshine with all the haters and the Elena situation. So here's some jokes I came up with seeing all the antis.
Antis: omg I can't believe these people are still shipping these two characters that I don't like despite the fact Tenoch SA this feminist activist!
Us: *Elena being expose for all her misdeeds*
Antis: oh I hate this ship I'm going to report all these fanart and work because I hate it.
Us: why can't you report the misinformation of the Tenoch situation?
Antis: ugh you should believe the victim 😡
Us: *exposing misdeeds of Elena and other women*
Antis: omg can't you believe these still support Tenoch?
Antis: oh you just supporting this man because he your favorite actor
Us: You mean his history of many media outlets slandering his name and with this situation shows that this was another slander attempt?
Antis: You just being delusional 🤪
Antis: see there is evidence that Tenoch SA more women that just Elena!!
Us: You mean the same women who has been reporting their stories to Elena and not OTHER journalists?
Nonnie, I had a good laugh 🤣🤣 nice one!
I try and be very open and accepting of diverse viewpoints, but sometimes, people and their lack of brain cells really gets to me.
Maybe we can gift the ship haters a pair of glasses or something. Must be hard to see the world with that blurry vision. 👀

⸺ “i remember the guy from my history classes, but only vaguely. he was nice and all, if you forget the questionable parts of his methods…” galen shrugs, pouring out more coffee on his mug, and continues. “it's kind of what i do here, be a little nice and very questionable. anyway, i think the professor is just calling me a nerd in a different language, but i will pretend that it's a flattering way to say i am a scholar or something.”
002. gaining an invitation into libertalia isn’t an easy feat. what do you think made you special enough to get handpicked by the professor? and what qualities do you think allowed you to join your position?
⸺ “promise me you won't think i'm being arrogant or anything, but,” he pauses, as if telling a secret “i'm really good at my job.” and then he laughs, lighting the weight of the previous statement. “but it's true, though. after so many years studying and being out there in environments that are less than ideal, having a doctor like me that is perfectly capable of handling emergencies and not freak out when, let's say, someone gets bitten by a snake or hit by a car is pretty valuable. it gets ‘easier’ to do dangerous things when you know that you won't die from the lack of immediate support.”
003. the captain’s crew is the highest position at libertalia, they are the select few who are aware of the professor’s identity. do you desire to graduate to this level?
⸺ “they're a bit like gods, aren't they? yes, it would be nice to know this organization's greatest secret, an honor, ever. it is a big responsibility though, a long, long term goal and not something that i can put in a five steps plan, unfortunately. i am happy to be where i currently am, with my fellow surgeons. maybe one day, who knows the future.”
004. although many members of libertalia don’t know each other’s personal lives, it’s rumored that many members came from suspicious backgrounds. who were you before joining and what was your life like prior?
⸺ he clicks his tongue, thinking before saying: “i was a doctor, always had been, and when my mother died, i knew i needed a change in my life. i joined a program of the brazilian government, in circa 2014, that takes foreign doctors to places in the country that need medical attention – that's how i ended up living in pará for years now and knowing so much about the amazon region.” galen says it softly, drowning in good memories. “i quitted when i got invited to join libertalia, though. i love primary care, but i need more in my life, if you know what i mean.”
005. what was your primary motivation for joining libertalia? was it for the riches or for the thrill of adventure? or is there something else motivating you to continue working for the group? what do you hope to achieve?
⸺ “first it was the money.” he confesses, with a timid smile crossing his face. “i really wanted to move out of the small apartment i had for my first years in the country. then it was just… what else am i going to do? i could go back to academia, maybe finally finish my doctorate, but it wouldn't be as exciting as the challenges that being a surgeon here is. some say that ‘knowledge is a reward in itself’, and i believe it is true in my case.”
006. how would the other members describe you? would you consider yourself to be a team-player or do you prefer to work independently?
⸺ “god, i hope i am good enough for these people.” a grin appears in his face as he makes the joke. “i couldn't imagine myself not being a team player, i mean,” he points to his equipment at the nearest table, “not trusting your doctor is a terrible way to die, in my opinion.
007. libertalia is anonymous, therefore necessitates secrecy outside of the group. how do you balance your personal life outside of this, granted you have one? is there a clear separation between libertalia and your personal life?
⸺ “i have the same policy since my college days: just because i helped with a bandage, it doesn't mean you need to follow me into eats and drinks later. i am here to help, that's all, no need to bring my problems from home to the group and vice versa. as much as i like to chat away about many, many things, i need to focus, as it is literally a matter of life and death sometimes. but, who knows, maybe if i trust you enough, one day i will let you know my mom's old quesadilla recipe.”
008. henry avery’s treasure has been lost since 1695. even with the brightest minds on the case, all leads to find the treasure haven’t turned up. avery’s treasure is the professor’s white whale and after several years of searching, many believe the treasure ceases to exist. do you believe the treasure exists?
⸺ “heavens, no.” a quiet chuckle escaped his lips. “i'm sorry, i know it's this group's lifelong dream, and i know it's important to have a target to shoot for, but there's a difference between ‘looking for a rare painting that was sold a couple years ago’ and ‘looking for a centuries old lost treasure using vague clues’. call me a pessimist, but i'd rather spend our resources in real things, not in… whatever this is.”
009. do you trust the professor? do you trust the libertalia?
⸺ he ponders the question while sipping the last bits of his coffee. “maybe.” galen chuckles, barely audible. “just because it's my job, it doesn't mean i have to blindly trust the professor. one thing is to trust my coworkers, or the captain's crew; another thing, completely different, is to blindly trust someone i don't even know the name.”

I mean, imagine trying to make me feel like I did something wrong by liking a character who isn't a Black girl that I've always, always liked. This is exactly what I was worried about with Namor entering the MCU.... I knew people would get passionate about him being a bad guy, and it would get weird. But yeah, no, the "black girl" in my blog name is me. The "superhero" is every Marvel and DC character, and occasionally the non Marvel/DC superheroes/villains, and the "rants" is because I be talking too much.
I do tend to like Black female heroes (and other characters) most of all, but that's because I'm a Black woman and many of them I grew up loving as the only representation in the nerdy stuff I loved.
I never professed to only like Black characters or to not like any villains or antiheroes. In fact, my main "villainous" character that I like IS Namor. Most characters I like are pretty straight forward heroes. Namor is the main grey area character that interests me. I refuse to be treated like I bandwagoned because Tenoch Huerta is attractive. He is, but also, I been liked Namor. Back when he was white coded, and a few times Asian coded (In fact, I fancasted him with Asian actors before Tenoch was cast.)

i’ve been thinking about the future of the mcu and realized there’s a LOT that i didn’t know/didn’t remember in terms of where things are going so i figured i’d sum it up incase anyone else was in the same boat!!
quick recap of (unresolved) mid-credit scenes:
doctor strange: mordo (a sorcerer that is one of strange’s mentors, who by the end of the movie becomes disillusioned with magic/the ancient one and quits) confronts pangborn (the paraplegic who healed himself with the mystic arts, who tells strange about mystic arts in the first place) and steals his magic because according to mordo, there are “too many sorcerers." of note, this guy is typically a villain in the comics but hasn’t been thus far...
gotg2: ayesha (leader of the sovereign, a golden skinned alien race obsessed with genetic purity), after spending most of the movie chasing the guardians for stealing some stuff, is revealed to have created an artificial being named “adam” which is presumably, adam warlock. (other stuff that is less relevant: kraglin appears to take up yondu’s mantle; the ravagers regroup and several old and obscure comic book characters are introduced [charlie-27, aleta, martinex, mainframe]; the watchers are watching things.)
far from home: j jonah jameson basically tells the whole world spider-man’s secret identity, and frames him for what happened with mysterio....making him public enemy #1. ALSO, turns out nick fury and maria hill in the movie were ACTUALLY the two skrulls from captain marvel (talos and soren) attempting to do their job, while the real fury (and presumably hill) is ... up in space on some spaceship!!!
wandavision: monica (who we can assume is photon) is called by “an old friend of [her] mother’s,” up in space, which presumably means fury, talos, or carol. ALSO, wanda sits in the middle of nowhere reading the darkhold and hears the voices of her children who.. by all accounts, should not exist.
aaaaand what we know about future movies (i’m not even going into the tv series.....):
black widow:
takes place after civil war
nat confronts a “dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past,” likely has to do with taskmaster who has apparently taken over the red room where nat was trained as an assassin
prominent new characters: yelena belova, who will take over the mantle of black widow after this; alexei shostakov aka red guardian, an ollllld marvel hero analogous to captain america except for the soviet union.
tony stark will make an appearance... SOBS
shang-chi and the legend of the ten rings:
shang-chi has never been seen in the mcu before, but he is, essentially, a superhero that is a master martial artist, and in some adaptations can also create duplicate (fake) versions of himself to confuse opponents
main villain will be the the mandarin who we have *sort of* seen before... he is the leader of a terrorist organization called “ten rings” whose main goal is to destroy world peace. brief history -- in iron man 1: one ten rings cell kidnaps tony stark and tries to force him to make weapons (he of course, makes his suit instead). stark and ten rings become enemies and fight a bunch. nat and nick fury fight them too. in iron man 3, the villain aldrich killian hires a dude to pretend to be the mandarin and claim responsibility for a bunch of stuff, but its not the ten rings or the mandarin at all. this makes the mandarin v mad and he has a dude kidnap the faker to punish him. they also briefly show up in ant-man, when a ten rings agent tries to buy the yellowjacket suit that darren cross is selling. BUT IN SHANG-CHI....... looks like we are FINALLY going to see the real mandarin after over a decade!!
the villain razor fist will also show up, he is lesser known... he has no superhuman powers but he has surgically replaced his hands (1 or 2, depending on the version) with a steel blade, and is highly skilled at hand to hand combat.
besides the presence of these characters, the only bit of plot we know is “shang-chi is drawn into the ten rings organization and forced to confront his past.” so... yeah. we don’t know much at all.
eternals:
quick explanation: the eternals are an immortal alien race who have been secretly living on earth for thousands of years. they were created by the celestials, who are most prominently in gotg2.
more entirely new characters!!! their names are: thena, who can form any weapon out of cosmic energy; gilgamesh, who can make a super strong exoskeleton out of cosmic energy; ikaris, who has superhuman strength, flies, and can project cosmic energy out his eyes; kingo, who can shoot cosmic energy projectiles from his hands; makkari, who creates sonic booms, has super speed, and is deaf; phastos, who has enhanced intelligence, and is also gay (and married with a kid!); ajak, who has healing powers; sprite, who can project illusions; sersi, who can manipulate matter; druig, who can mind control; and dane whitman (black knight), a human with a mystical sword.
regarding the plot... it seems the eternals have kind of dispersed, but have to come together again to fight the deviants, who are their “evil counterparts” (also created by the celestials, though i’m unclear on why). thena and gilgamesh have apparently been in exile, unclear why; sersi, who is posing as a museum curator, has apparently been in love with ikaris for centuries and it seems as if their love story may be central to the film; and kingo is a bollywood film star in his spare time. aaaaand that’s pretty much all we know.
directed by chloé zhao of nomadland fame!
spider-man no way home:
based on the post-credits scene in far from home, peter parker will now be known as spider-man to everyone. unclear if he’s going to be seen as a bad guy due to mysterio framing him, but i guess we’ll see!
jamie foxx is electro, and alfred molina is doctor octopus; which is VERY interesting considering they played these roles in other spider-man franchises, once again stirring up excitement for possible multiverse.
there have been *multiple* reports that andrew garfield, kirsten dunst, tobey maguire, and emma stone will be in the movie but tom holland has repeatedly denied this... so... who knows.
there are also rumors that matt murdock / daredevil (from netflix) will be in several scenes! not confirmed though.
MJ is still his girlfriend and i hope it stays that way!!
doctor strange will be featured in the movie, taking on the mentor role now that tony stark is gone :( this will be interesting as i.. haven’t really seen them interact much before. because of this inclusion some people speculate that the film may draw inspo from some comic storylines where peter’s secret identity is restored with magic.
doctor strange in the multiverse of madness:
scarlet witch is essentially co-starring!!! it’s going to be really interesting to see if they bring vision or the twins into this at all, though i’m not counting on it.
seems like mordo will be the main villain -- recall the ds1 post credits scene where he is apparently running around trying to steal people’s magic.
america chavez will make her debut!!!!!! i have no idea how this plays into anything but i am so excited!!
regarding the plot, all we really know is that strange has been researching the time stone, mordo messes with him, and this results in him accidentally unleashing “unspeakable evil.” presumably there will also be heavy involvement of the multiverse, and who knows what kind of craziness that will bring!!
initially was going to be directed by scott derrickson who did ds1; however he stepped down to being just EP due to “creative differences.” i am presuming this is because derrickson really wanted to make this more gothic and horror than disney was comfortable with. i REALLY hope they keep some of those elements though and don’t erase the idea entirely! anyway, it will be directed by sam raimi now (of evil dead and spiderman 2002 fame).
the film also reportedly ties in with the loki series (will loki show up!?) and spiderman 3 (which is obvious enough, given that strange is in that movie and those curious electro and doctor octopus castings...)
thor: love and thunder
directed by taika waititi again, hell yeah!!! and he has stated, the film will be “so over the top now in the very best way" and would make ragnarok look like a "run of the mill, very safe film" .... so.... oh god
so many great returning players!!! including.... valkyrie (now the king of new asgard), jane foster, lady sif, korg, star-lord, mantis, drax, nebula, and kraglin (takes up yondu’s mantle after he dies in gotg2)
in this movie, thor isn’t thor anymore.... it’s JANE!!! she gets cancer :( and is undergoing treatment while simultaneously being thor. i’m a little nervous how this will be handled, but i’m excited. (it’s based off an amazing comic series by jason aaron)
the big bad: gorr the god butcher, played by christian bale! the gist of it is, this dude HATES gods because nobody helped when his family was dying and in need. his weapon is “all-black the necrosword,” forged from the head of a celestial, and allows the user to create wings and fly at extreme speeds. honestly, he sounds cool as fuck.
valkyrie is going to be made canonically bisexual!!!
it will explore more of korg’s backstory, and also include... space sharks!?!?! an alien race from the comics.
taika has called the script “very romantic” so take that as you will
black panther 2
will again be directed by ryan coogler
not much is known at this point, does not have an official name
t’challa will NOT be recast (which i’m happy about) so..... honestly no idea what to expect for this one. i think we can probably expect shuri to have an expanded role. all we know so far is they will be “exploring the world of wakanda.” not clear to me how this is different from the upcoming wakanda D+ series.
tenoch huerta has reportedly been cast as a villain, but no one has any idea who. there’s also rumors that donald glover is in “informal talks” to play a role. note all of this is unconfirmed.
captain marvel 2
will be directed by nia da costa (candyman!) and written by megan mcdonnell, who is one of wandavision’s best writers!
will take place in the present day
will feature kamala khan / ms. marvel, monica rambeau / photon!!! this will be so interesting.... kamala is a huge fan of carol’s in the comics, she is her mentor/idol. the ms. marvel series will also resportedly lead into cm2. and monica, well, monica knew her when she was a little kid. wandavision implies that there’s some bad blood between carol and monica though, not sure why. maybe because carol left and never came back? (until endgame)
post-credits scene of wandavision appears to tie into this, having monica go up into space at the reqeust of her “mom’s old friend.” again, not clear who that is. this could also be a tie in to secret invasion though, so we’ll see. or both.
zawe ashton has been cast as an unknown villain... a lot of people are actually speculating that she may play rogue? which would be fascinating, as there’s a comic arc where rogue steals her powers and memories. BUT there’s still no confirmation that X-men exist in the MCU so for now i remain skeptical.
they are looking to cast a ‘john boyega’ or ‘michael b jordan’ type which makes me wonder if they are going to create a new character, a “younger” war machine to be her love interest? (note: carol and rhodey are a huge thing in comics!) carol obviously does not look her age but her and don cheadle.... that just doesn’t work. which is why i wonder.
ant-man and the wasp: quantumania
in addition to scott and hope, pretty much all the major players are returning including: luis, hank pym, janet van dyne
cassie lang has been recast with an actress 5 years older, which is really making me wonder if they are going to make her stinger in this movie! (aka one of the main young avengers)
the villain: kang the conqueror! this dude time travels. original name nate richards. in the comics, kang travels back in time to rescue his younger self (nate) from an attack that would help shape him towards a life of villainy. kang also gives him some fancy armor. his younger self actually is like, what the fuck dude? and renounces his destiny, becoming a hero. and he makes his armor look like iron man, calling himself iron lad. who is a young avenger. which also makes me wonder about cassie lang.
otherwise not much is known!
guardians of the galaxy vol. 3
james gunn is returning, i’m mixed about this...he really does *get* the guardians though.
based on the gotg2 post credits scene, i think we can assume adam warlock will be a HUGE part of this. there are multiple versions of him, some villainous and some heroic, but no idea how this is gonna turn out.
no word yet on whether thor will be involved, or if those ravagers they introduced will be involved.
fantastic four
will be directed by the spiderman guy, john watts.
otherwise we know literally nothing.
aaaaand that’s the roundup!

on the one hand I'm selfishly curious about the other atlanteans' casting (not least of all bc uh... I hate aquaman sorry, I hate that their atlantean royal family is so white supremacist-y), otoh I REALLY want them to get the right fit for this cast which imo is gonna mean pulling from new talent rather than the tiny native hollywood pool, especially because I want tenoch huerta to be the visual standard for marvel's atlantis.
like I don't want a repeat of the blu hunt & blair redford xcu (or tbh the odette annable & meaghan rath in banshee) casting standards, I don't want a centering of white passing lightskinned actors anywhere near BP. I don't wanna see anyone who's been in a twilight movie lol. I want fresh faces & I want fresh blood. I want the same vibes as cree summer disney atlantis, when the visuals were fresh, new, and the characters were all unambiguously brown.
I wanna have fun & I hate to be a hater but that can't happen with the big names y'all know on the american indigenous acting scene, I'm sorry— but I don't wanna see gil or chaske or zahn or wes. I don't wanna see tonantzin or tanaya.
I want the casting director to make an effort and give us what we've somehow still been waiting for and let coogler realize his vision, and I want it not to be something catering to non latino visuals of indigeneity & non indigenous visuals of latinos.

The Forever Purge Review: Insurrectionists in Horror Movie Makeup
https://ift.tt/3duZF52
Movies typically take several years to get in front of an audience, from the screenwriter first putting words on the page to the finished film unspooling in a dark theater (or, these days, streaming on your tablet). So there’s always a weird double-take when a movie like The Forever Purge comes out and it seems to eerily capture or mirror events unfolding in real-life as they’re happening.
Such has been the case with the series of movies collectively known as The Purge, which in many ways have never outgrown their original recipe as a hard, violent shell of low-budget action/horror wrapped around a viscous, somewhat self-contradictory center of socially conscious speculative fiction.
Yet whatever flaws one may find in the now five films in the series (we have not watched the two-season TV show, so we won’t bring it into this discussion), the vision behind the narrative—primarily that of creator James DeMonaco, who has written all five pictures and directed three of them—has remained remarkably consistent, often frightening, and right on the nose when it comes to the news.
The Forever Purge may be the most terrifying of the films yet. Its central idea about an overnight, 12-hour bacchanal of hate in which all crime, including murder, is legal gets turned on its head this time out: The monstrous creation of the totalitarian regime in power bites down hard on the hand that has fed it for years as the revelers decide that they’re taking power into their hands well past the 12-hour curfew.
As The Forever Purge opens, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) have wrested power back again—no doubt through gerrymandering and voter suppression—after actually losing to Sen. Hillary Clinton Charlene Roan in 2016’s The Purge: Election Year. That entry had the real-life scenario more or less right but missed the outcome by a country mile (2018’s The First Purge, the first of the films not directed by DeMonaco, was a vacuous origin story set before the rest of the series).
With the NFFA back in the saddle in Washington, they immediately reinstitute the Purge, which serves less as an escape valve for the country’s anger issues than as a means for the NFFA to get rid of the impoverished and disenfranchised—the people the government is supposed to help—by setting them against each other.
As the nation prepares for another Purge, our new movie turns to two central family units. The first is a Mexican couple named Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta), who escaped a vendetta held by their homeland’s drug cartels some time back and now live industriously and quietly in Texas, where Juan and his friend T.T. (Alejandro Edda) work on the ranch of the wealthy Tucker clan.
Tucker patriarch Caleb (Will Patton) is old school if decent enough, treats his workers well, and is impressed with Juan’s skills as a cowboy. But that only pisses off Caleb’s son Dylan (Josh Lucas), who doesn’t consider himself racist (do they ever?) but believes that folks should stay with their own kind. Which is kind of what happens as the Tuckers—including Josh’s pregnant wife Emma (Cassidy Freeman) and more liberal-minded sister Harper (Leven Rambin)—lock down their mansion while Juan, Adela and T.T. must spend Purge Night in a local shelter.
Once the sun rises and the Purge is over, however, the real horror begins: a large, loosely organized underground movement, fueled primarily by their hatred of everyone from immigrants to the rich, to anyone they don’t consider real Americans, decides that 12 hours isn’t enough: the Purge is going to continue until the nation is cleansed, even if it means bringing down the NFFA as well.

The Forever Purge Trailer Breakdown with Director Everardo Gout
By Rosie Fletcher
From that point on, The Forever Purge turns mostly toward bloody action as the Tuckers must join forces with Adela, Juan, and T.T. in order to reach the border in El Paso, which has all too ironically been opened for a limited time to let as many Americans as possible escape the carnage and chaos consuming the nation as a shocked world watches.
The scenes of the Forever Purgers taking matters into their own hands and escaping the grip of the government that has essentially nurtured their violent growth hit very close to the bone in light of what happened in this country on Jan. 6 when a mob of ignorant traitors, their dull minds poisoned by the lies of the disgraced grifter then occupying the White House, made a violent attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of power for the first time in our history.
By all accounts, the enablers of the impeached president and the leaders of his political party who looked the other way with his every transgression were just as shocked as the rest of the nation at what transpired, even though their own rhetoric and behavior going back to the 1990s had cultivated it. The same thing happens in The Forever Purge: although we never see the reactions of the NFFA leaders to the Forever Purgers. Still, we get the impression that they’re just as terrified as the people on the street.
No one is ever going to accuse this franchise of subtlety, and there’s little in evidence in this movie. But it’s downright unsettling how The Forever Purge remarkably parallels real life to some degree, giving a gravitas to the film’s proceedings that they may or may not deserve (keep in mind that filming wrapped in February 2020, nearly a full year before the Jan. 6 insurrection).
Although the action in the film has expanded greatly from the previous entries, it’s still relatively contained, which has its pros and cons. While that relegates the bigger story to mostly exposition heard on radio broadcasts and so forth, denying the movie the full scope it might need, it also forces DeMonaco and new franchise director Everardo Valerio Gout to focus on the main characters.
But with the exception of Juan and Adela, the rest of the characters, as with the other movies, are mostly rudimentary sketches. Lucas and Patton try to bring some nuance to the rich white men they play, but the Tucker womenfolk are even less defined. And even Juan and Adela sometimes seem too saintly, too empathetic, to be true, even as our sympathies lie with them throughout the film.
Gout directs the action well enough, and there are some scenes of genuine menace as our heroes find themselves caught in the crossfire of the burgeoning civil war between the U.S. military and the Forever Purgers. Yet the escape to the border plays out as rather rote, even with the wider implications of what’s happening in the background to give it weight.
We won’t tell you how The Forever Purge ends, but it does take the series in a new direction that could serve as either a finale or the gateway to a continuation of the storyline. And we can also tell you that even with its occasionally by-the-numbers feel, stock characterizations, and sometimes uneven pacing, we found The Forever Purge to be gripping, chilling and darkly satisfying—even as it brought back a memory we have no desire to live through again.
The Forever Purge is out in theaters this Friday, July 2.

Will Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduce Namor to the MCU?
Ryan Coogler's Marvel sequel could have just added a significant character - but what might happen when the King of Atlantis clashes with Wakanda?
Tumblr media
Director Ryan Coogler has an incredibly tough job in following up his 2018 Black Panther solo movie after the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman – but if a new rumour is to be believed, then he’s expanding his corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a big way. As reported by notable scoopers The Illuminerdi, it seems like the highly-anticipated sequel will introduce one of Marvel’s oldest heroes: Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Last year, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Narcos: Mexico star Tenoch Huerta was in talks to join the sequel in a villain role, although no other details surfaced at the time. But this latest rumour suggests Huerta will take a dive to play the first live-action version of Namor - also meaning that Coogler might introduce yet another hidden kingdom in the MCU, Atlantis.
For the moment, it’s still not clear how the Black Panther sequel will address the loss of Boseman, but introducing Namor could be an interesting way of looking at the potential power vacuum left behind in Wakanda.
Many fans assume that Coogler will simply pass the Black Panther mantle over to Letitia Wright’s Shuri (T’Challa’s sister) and what better way of throwing her in the deep end than pitting her against another super-powered monarch?
And it’s not like this is the first time theories about Namor’s appearance in the MCU have sent fans into a frenzy. Back in the fledgling, Paramount days of Marvel Studios, a S.H.I.E.L.D. world map in the background of an Iron Man 2 scene circled a random spot in the ocean off the western coast of Africa - with many taking it as a subtle reference to the underwater nation of Atlantis.
Fast-forward to 2019 in Avengers: Endgame and Wakandan warrior Okoye (Danai Gurira) updated the team on an underwater earthquake that also happened a few miles off the coast, putting it within reasonable distance from Wakanda. However, she was careful to note that they “handle it by not handling it”, clearly being cautious of the situation. It’s not clear whether the Wakandans are aware of Atlantis in the MCU, but with their advanced level of technology it would be highly surprising if they weren’t.
But is there anything to back up the report from The Illuminerdi? Well, the site also claims that earlier casting news over two ‘Mayan warriors’ named Cadmael and Zyanya was actually misdirection, and they’re codenames for two supporting Atlantean characters; Attuma and Namora. Attuma is a vicious barbarian who is part of an exiled sect of Atlanteans because of their anti-royalist views, and he often tries to overthrow Namor and take the crown for himself. Meanwhile, Namora is Namor’s cousin (not by blood) and it’s been teased that they have a closer, romantic relationship.
The Illuminerdi didn’t offer any supposed plot details about how the trio of Atlanteans might factor into Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but as we already mentioned, early reports labelled Huerta’s role as an antagonist in the story. If Attuma does appear, he probably won’t attempt a coup in Atlantis, since that would be a rehash of the first film with Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger. So it’ll be interesting to see what puts Namor on a collision course with the Wakandans if he does indeed show up.
And did we mention this would be a sneaky way of introducing mutants into the MCU? Sure, the King of Atlantis wasn’t actually intended to be a mutant with the X-gene when he debuted in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939, but the company retroactively made him one in 1963 when he faced off with Reed Richards and his family during Fantastic Four Annual #1. Much like Aquaman over on the DC Comics side of things, Namor reigns over Atlantis and often clashes with humanity over the way it treats the oceans. But he has often aided the Avengers and the X-Men against various threats.
So, if Tenoch Huerta will indeed suit up as Namor in the MCU, it could lead to much bigger ramifications further down the line. Does he know any other mutants out in the world? Has he come across a certain X-citing team? Who knows? Obviously the only real question is whether Kevin Feige makes the star wear Namor’s classic seaweed pants...

Reposting from my main but here’s my thoughts on water in the films we’ve been watching in my Spanish class. Not really relevant to Sherlock, but the water=emotion thing did influence my thinking somewhat and I’ve concluded that the water/emotion connection goes further than just being a motif in Sherlock.
So to start with, the three main films I’m talking about are Y Tu Mamá También, Krampack (Nico y Dani), and Sueño en Otro Idioma. What these films have in common is that they range from kind of to very gay, and I guess I have no idea why my professor decided to do this but I’m also not complaining. These films also all use water as a recurring motif, especially the ocean. In all three, the ocean is a place of youthful summer exuberance, especially for lovers. It’s a place of freedom - in Sueño, it is at the beach and in the water that the two young men can kiss and be openly affectionate - returning to the normal world, social disapproval and the Catholic church scare one of them (Evaristo) into rejecting and denouncing the other (Isauro), causing a 50 year rift between them. Likewise, in Krampack the ocean and water in general is used to convey freedom and intimacy, as the four central teenagers play around in the water. And while I didn’t watch all of Y Tu Mamá, class discussion made it clear that the pattern holds there too. Moral of the story is, you can be gay in the ocean I guess? Say rather the ocean represents idealism, a paradise isolated from the rest of the world.
In Y Tu Mamá, swimming pools also recur throughout the movie and are something of a counterpoint to the ocean. At the beginning, the two teenage boys (Julio and Tenoch) spend certain afternoons swimming at this exclusive rich people resort while it’s closed for maintenance, because Tenoch has access because his father is rich. The pool there is huge, pristine, and screams money and privilege. That pool represents the bubble these kids live in - theyve never faced any real difficulty or emotional upheaval, they’re basically just here to mess around and have a good time. (Also they’ve definitely got unresolved sexual tension between them but at this point in the movie it remains subtext, although the scenes at the pool hint at it). Later in the movie, once they go on the road and get into a fight over a woman they both want to sleep with, they end up in some random hotel pool - small, unimpressive, and covered in leaves. The world isn’t an uncomplicated bubble anymore! They’re at a low point in their friendship, and the pool reflects this - the water is full of dirt and ugliness, just like their emotions towards each other. Whereas once they reach the ocean, they’ve worked out some of their interpersonal problems and can return to having fun in the water together (it is also around this time that they have a threesome of some sort with the aforementioned woman and apparently make out a bunch, idk I didn’t watch this far).
Returning to Sueño, we see this idea of water as emotion further fleshed out.  One of the characters (Evaristo’s granddaughter) is literally named Lluvia, meaning rain. There are rain storms at several key points in the movie, tying together themes of love, death, and grief. Furthermore, in the movie, whenever one of the Zikril people dies, a river is heard throughout the whole village, again representing grief, death and life or rebirth, as the Zikril believe that the dead continue to live on in a land called The Enchantment. Nor is it an accident that the conflict between Isauro and Evaristo took place on the beach all those years ago - that conflict is a paradise lost, so to speak (with respect to their previous happiness), an association further supported by the religious imagery of Jesus bleeding on the cross that terrifies Evaristo into repressing his love for Isauro.
Interestingly, the fourth movie we watched, Roma, also represents water as emotion but in a slightly more negative context. In Roma, the ocean does not represent paradise like in the other movies, but rather is a place of danger - two of the children nearly drown, and the main character Cleo must wade in to rescue them despite not knowing how to swim herself. It is not an accident that this scene takes place immediately after the childrens’ mother tells them their father has abandoned the family: here, water represents emotion but in a negative sense. The children are literally submerged in the water even as they are figuratively submerged in feelings of loss, abandonment, and confusion. And Cleo doesn’t know how to swim - she doesn’t know how to navigate her own emotional ocean of giving birth to a stillborn child she didn’t really want in the first place and whose father turned out to be a violent jerk who abandoned her at the first opportunity. But all three of them make it out alive, in the end.
TL;DR water represents emotion and ties together complex emotional experiences in the films we watched in class, but my peers cannot stop harping on the idea that it represents “fluid sexuality” because gay people must automatically be “sexually fluid” right?

So have you seen black Panther clips? Because I was like. Screw the white fish. HELLO NA MOR.
I don't think I will ever get tired of saying his name.
Like I know you and others mean well in showing support for Tenoch as Namor, but Comic!Namor isn't white either, he's biracial coded, he was white passing, and the way people are actively shitting on the character is really sad to me because he's a great character and I love him very much and as far as I'm concerned I'm not choosing between the two because both are great in their own ways. I'm also very much in support of Tenoch!Namor and have been since the very beginning, but yes I've seen all the clips, and I'm very excited for the movie. ❤️
