So I uh, may have discovered the endlessly amusing world of the humble tea cosy. These are all my doing.
The granny stripe cozy was my first try, and that photo is not true to color. The orange is actually the same bright red as on the flower and spiral pots, and the blue is a dark teal, like a peacock blue almost.
For the first two I used yarns of matching fiber, weight and texture, mostly followed existing instructions for designs other people had come up with, and only gently tweaked them to fit my 1950s Japanese redware teapot that I inherited from my grandparents instead of the more recent teapots the patterns were made for.(She is probably worth like $20 tops but is beautiful and sentimental and makes good tea and I love her.) The third one is for the same pot but I went rogue, mostly made it up by extrapolating from the things I learned making the first two, and I only sort of followed existing directions for the flower and leaves on top.. I used three completely unrelated yarns because they were the right colors. The flower and leaves are both acrylic but the red is slick and shiny while the green is dense, rough and matte. The black base is cotton.
The fourth cozy was made to fit my porcelain pine sprig teapot that is probably from no earlier than the nineties and may even be from the 2000s. Again i used yarn based on color, but at least the black and white are both cotton. The red acrylic returns for the edgings. I followed directions to do the first three rounds of the spiral, then extrapolated from there how to get it to fit my pot.
It isn’t quite a perfect fit and I probably should have used a button closure at the back below the handle like the first three instead of closing the rounds permanently there because it is a liiiittle tricky to put on and off, but it kind of has Beetlejuice vibes and I like it very much. I don’t often use the pine sprig pot because he is a little bit of an odd shape and his spout is funny(Appears he was fired with a small divot in the spout side) so I think it’ll be okay.
Bonus pictures, my teapots minus their new sweaters.

Mushroom Teapot Cozy crochet instructions
Dose anyone know a good manual to fallow for a tea cozy? specifically mushroom themed? I just got a cute vintage teapot and matching cups and saucers!!! Only thing is keeping the tea warm. If there are any other cute designs Id be happy to see them! (looking for more beginner level) ps. Just want to know if y'all have cute cozy's

Weak, milky tea is my favourite too. The idea of bits floating in tea makes me want to vom 🤢
It’s the best it’s like getting a big comforting warm hug in a mug!
Ughhh growing up my gran always used to make tea in a teapot and it would be so strong and you’d always get a mouthful of tea leaves at the end of your cuppa as she’d not strained it properly 🤮
