Delicious fiber arts items in the local vintage mall!
This duster, which the wearer thinks someone made from a tablecloth:
A wall hanging woven in such a way as to be so texturally satisfying that I was afraid I was going to get thrown out for groping the artwork
That isn’t colorwork BTW. This are actual shadows because each square section recedes toward the center!

I took a picture of both sides, but when you follow the weave,
Well, both sides look identical. This is *technically* a tablecloth. In *actuality* it's a blanket. I try to repair everything with this weave style by weaving in new thread to shore it up.
I've had people express that it's hard to see the repairs sometimes. So I held it up to the light.
I have no idea if this is helpful, but I mean well.

Silvered, or mercury, glass Because it has a double thickness, with a silvery lining, this type of glass looks heavy but in fact is surprisingly light. It was made in the mid-19th century in America and England and was frequently fashioned into the ornamental forms seen here...

2020 Pandemic project: Lace crochet tablecloth. I wanted to take the time to see how large of a crochet project I could do & how to make larger creations. I found a tablecloth pattern then found a complementary trim pattern to put along the edge.
This took about a month to complete if i added all the hours together for the body & a week for the trim. But I worked on this for about 9 months.
My cat Spike was a great supervisor. Tablecloth was donated to Northern California Renaissance Faire Rescue Rally in 2023. Had a lot of fun & frustration on this project. Definitely wouldn't mind making another in this pattern or a different one. Come and check me out on jacofart on Instagram leave me a comment on what you like about my work or throw me a tip if you would like to help finance my art business.

umm well basically i got some fabric and printed out some stuff and i'm going to be making a new tablecloth for conventions as my next sewing project
this is the rough plan. the green part is a gingham runner that goes on the top, the logo will be made as a giant "patch" and then sewn to the fabric. i'm a little worried it might be too heavy but i won't really know until i try, and i can always reinforce the cream fabric with my old tablecloth.
i'm gonna use this post as a little thread of sorts for my progress, today i got all my materials in and printed out the pattern. next up is cutting the pieces out which will be a bit tedious, but nowhere near as time consuming as hand sewing everything. wish me luck! ^__^
