God, their impromptu performance is grating on Jarod’s last and only nerve, and he knows he’s not the only one.  Palavas is not advertised as a live music venue, so people know not to come here if they want that sort of thing.  Everybody who does come here does so because it’s a relatively quiet little roadside joint where they can get some goddamn piece after a long work week.

And as a regular who has a drink named after him, his order taped up on the wall behind the bar, Jarod thinks that he has more of a say about what goes on around here than most other people do.  He might as well own the place.  The actual owner, Joe, is terrified of him and will gladly stay hidden in the kitchen while Jarod lays down his own brand of law.

“Can you shut the hell up?” he says, loudly enough that it can be heard over the other’s crooning.  A man in a corner booth shuffles and mumbles something inaudible, which Jarod can only take to be gratitude for saying what they are all thinking.  Not one person in the bar seems at all enthralled by the song.  “If you want music, put a quarter in the jukebox, dumbass.”

Highlights of Ep 482

SPOILERS ALERT

"Now I will reveal my darkness. You’re not gonna blame me like a fool and cry. I’m gonna take back what I lost..." - Lucia, "Lunar Phase"

After a series of failed curative attempts, Vin’s mom took him from Seoul to the male shaman in Cheonliang in order to cure his eyes.

The shaman and his team immediately performed the exorcism with goat as sacrifice. Vin’s mom spent a lot for this ritual. Vin’s mom was yelled at for being insincere in her prayers and began praying in earnest.

A little boy was used as the sacrifice in order for Vin to “heal”. He had six fingers in each hand and six toes in each foot. He was stripped naked, tied, and stoned to death.

The villagers treated Vin and his mom with either creepy welcome or open suspicion as to why they left Seoul and came to Cheonliang. Some of them accused Vin’s mom of being a “loose woman” who probably had her son out of wedlock.

Meanwhile, the fraudulent shaman secretly lusted after Vin’s mom.

That night, Vin’s mom woke him up and they both tried to escape the village to no avail. The shaman had stopped the selling of bus tickets in the name of the “Child God” and instructed the ticket seller in advance.

Vin’s mom reported the stoning of the child to the local police station and showed the photo in her phone but instead her phone was taken by the officer on duty, again in the name of the “Child God”.

The bewildered mother and son took a taxi, but even the taxi driver took them back to the Shaman’s house and every other cult follower waited for them there.

From then on Vin and his mom lived in misery and captivity where their every activity was being watched and Vin began calling his life hell.

Not long after, Vin woke up to find his mom dead, hanging from the rafters in his dark room.

After that and since the stoned kid ran away, it was Vin who replaced the stoned kid as the sacrifice totem for the Shaman’s rituals to erase bad luck. He was stripped naked in freezing winter, he was also kicked and mistreated in every possible way.

People came and stare at Vin’s eyes during these (fraudulent) rituals, as he was splashed with animals’ blood to symbolize the driving away of bad luck.

It was then when Vin had his meager meal after a ritual, he met another kid, dark skinned and wrapped up warm. This kid is TAEJIN, the only son of the shaman.

Taejin offered Vin some meal (burger from a certain fast food brand) and was kind to Vin and asked if he felt cold. He even promised to clothe Vin once he became a shaman. Because Vin was his. (Edit: I was mistaken about this earlier. I thought he only meant to save Vin).

Taejin’s life was the opposite of Vin’s because, even though Vin was allowed to go to school, stones were thrown at him and he was called a Monster every day.

Vin tried to stab his polycoria eye once because he was sure it was the source of all of his unhappiness (there’s a photo of his family of three on the table, his parents and him). It’s implied that probably his father was gone (but I’m not sure). Crying in desperation, little Vin wondered what did he do wrong.

Fast forward to Vin’s middle school days where he kept beating people up and grew his hair long to cover his eyes. Kids avoided him in the corridors, whispering that he hated handsome guys because of his inferiority complex.

That day, Vin passed Taejin by in the school corridor but they both said nothing to each other, all traces of their childhood interactions had vanished.

As he pretended to sleep in his classroom, Vin thought he was glad to be alienated, at least nobody came closer.

Rumors reached the school of a monster who lived in a cave in the mountains.

One night, Vin was dragged to work for the shaman again and this time he was stripped naked… and was paraded in the street in front of his schoolmates, while Taejin was sitting far ahead with his shaman father.

From shame and pain, Vin ran away crying to the mountain, begging the Monster of the Cheonliang Mountain to come and kill him instantly.

But a young man came out of the cave, instead of a monster.

This man would in turn become Vin’s future teacher. The King of Cheonliang: YOOK SEONGJI.

Rewatching the P5 anime with my mom has been an experience as I'm realizing that Ryuji is pretty goddamn vital to everything that happens.

Spoilers for P5's palace rulers identities I suppose

First of all, he goats Ren back into the Metaverse, and actively keeps him from dying at most points in Kamoshida's palace.

Him blurting things out results in them getting into literally almost every palace, Kamoshida, Madarame, Kaneshiro, and Okumura all have him guessing one or more of the keywords, and in Strikers, two of the Jails happen because he says the codewords.

Thirdly, Makoto would have been in a much more unfortunate situation if Ryuji hadn't jumped in front of a taxi (and also if Kaneshiro wasn't weirdly flippant, I'm a little baffled by how nonchalant a mafia boss is, Shido will really rely on anyone huh)

Mementos would be such a slog without Insta-Kill, blame this one on Joker if you wanna be wrong because it's Ryuji's perk but it's still something to note.

He's instrumental in not everyone dying in Shido's palace so we owe him that, and in my personal game his Megaton raid hit a crit on Shido's second form and that earned him a showtime so he single handedly killed an entire boss phase with just the help of a bowl of ramen from a bro.

In conclusion best boy is absolutely one of if not the most important phantom thieves and thank you for coming to my ted talk, next time I'll discuss Ann and how absolutely lovely she is and why she's just as important and instrumental.

What would be the South Park characters Overwatch main:

Let’s start with team 1 (the main 4 +Butters):

Tank: Cartman obviously.

He’s that annoying RoadHog 1 trick but after Hog got reworked he became an annoying Doomfist 1 trick. Don’t ask him to switch even if he’s being hard countered. He won’t. Constantly complains about heals. If they win he says “gg ez tank diff” even when he’s done the worst in the lobby but if they lose he will say “support diff/no heals”. Every time he falls off the map Kyle types “?” In chat.

DPS 1: Kenny.

Kenny plays JunkRat mainly. He’s the type of JunkRat to go into the whole enemy team alone just to die but still gets like a 2k with his dead body mines. The suicidal JunkRat play. Will go out of his way to find the Mercy with his Tire even if it kills him. Will also circle around a Mei in ice block with his tire to kill her despite him also playing Mei too sometimes. Definitely made at least one of those TikTok’s of JunkRat using his sit down emote in front of the spawn doors on top of one of his traps. Spams the ‘ahhh it’s snowing’ voice line 24/7.

DPS 2: Stan

Stan is that hitscan player you despise. The type you sit there and think, if you didn’t play hitscan you would be terrible, spoiler he wouldn’t be terrible. His most comfortable character though is Soldier 76. Hella basic but he enjoys it. He actually used to be a Genji main though but he got tired of constantly being solo gravd when he was nano blading. Kind of expected Wendy to be his pocket Mercy (she did not). Will 100% flirt with a Mercy to get a pocket in the spawn room and taxi them back from spawn.

Support 1: Butters

Everyone expected him to be a Mercy 1 trick. They were wrong. When he plays Mercy he’s the stereotypical heal bot sugar plum fairy Mercy. Butters is actually a Brigitte main. He can play other supports if needed but he isn’t very good at them. He only wears the Goat Brig skin. Will throw the game just to show everyone the Katt Brig emote. Will also refuse to kill Wrecking Ball players.

Support 2: Kyle

Absolutely feral when playing Ana. The type of Ana that would sleep an invis Sombra because his ‘Sombra senses’ were tingling. If you’re playing tank against his Ana you might as well just leave the game or you’ll be constantly slept or antid. He might have thrown a bit of a fit when Kiriko was introduced. Now he just sleeps any Kiriko’s and nano’s a teammate to solo ult her for him. Will nano a Mercy. He can play any support though and as much as he loves to play Ana his highest win percentage is on Mercy. He’s Stan’s egirl pocket Mercy, he hates it (he’s lying).

Team 2 (Craig’s gang):

Tank: Clyde

D.Va 1 trick (he thinks she’s hot). Will spam ‘is this easy mode~’ after every kill. Gets salty when he gets D.Va diffed or if the enemy D.Va gets play of the Game. Owns every D.Va skin, emote, victory pose and highlight intros.

DPS 1: Craig

Hanzo main but is a menace when playing Torbjörn or Symmetra. Will chase after you with Torbs hammer. Will also put a Sym tp at the edge of the map to make his teammates fall off. His true strength though, Bastion. Yup he’s on of those players. He will kind of just play whatever character people find the most annoying at the time.

DPS 2: Jimmy

Plays only female characters. His personal favourite is Tracer though. He also loves playing Widowmaker but he’s terrible at her. Bro can’t land a single shot. Will definitely play Pharah into double hitscan and wonder why he’s dying so much.

Support 1: Tolkien

Loves playing characters like Baptise and Ana, just supports that can pump out a lot of heals but still defend themselves if needed. Throws the best timed Immortality Fields so much it makes people want to cry. Tolkien is the type of support player that would always make sure his fellow support player is okay. Like jump off the map to help a Mercy get back up type of guy.

Support 2: Tweek

Most people are shocked when Tweek says he’s a support main, they’re even more shocked when he tells them he’s a Zenyatta/Lucio main. Tweek also enjoys playing Mercy every now and then. Battle Mercy is in his blood. Will scream when he gets nanoed no matter who he’s playing. When he’s pissed off at Craig he will play Mercy and t-bag Craig’s dead soul and refuse to Rez him. Tweek is the most petty support main. You spam ‘I need healing’ too much and he will refuse to heal you for the rest of the game, competitive or not.

38. The Animal Faire.

Loki is right. What we started in Sulani, does not have to end as we arrive back home in Henford-on-Bagley.

We haven't heard from Thor and we haven't found a way to restore Loki back to life, but Loki is happier than ever!

I can't help but notice that he is at his happiest when around animals. Whether it's going for long runs with Fenrir...

snuggling on the sofa with the cats...

befriending the wild rabbits...

...or singing to the birds in the garden.

The Animal Faire is being held in the village this weekend, and I decide Loki would love it.

We set out for the village early in the morning.

"I'd rather go to the pub than grocery shopping," Loki mutters as he eyes the "The Gnome's Arms" wistfully.

I grin. "A bit early for that, don't you think?"

I drag him along to the market stalls.

"In life, I was a prince amongst gods! Provide me with your best produce!" Loki proclaims.

I roll my eyes at him.

"A bag of fresh apples and some turnips will be fine," I say to the owner of the stall.

Loki gets bored while I buy some fresh flowers and wanders off to explore the rest of the fair.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" I ask with a smile.

"I love it so much, it's so small! Can I keep it? We have a chicken coop in the garden but no one to live in it!" Loki begs.

"I'll think about it," I say diplomatically.

I expect Loki to ask again but he puts the chick down as he gets distracted.

"GOATS! look, Mari, tiny little goats!"

Soon Loki is playing peekaboo with one of the miniature goats.

"it is so adorable!"

"I love it. It's mine now!"

"I already have two cats, a dog and a god of Mischief! I don't need a goat!"

"Mummy is a meany, but daddy will persuade her! Don't you worry my little baby!" Loki coos to the goat.

"This! This is why people make up weird myths about you," I grumble dourly.

"They aren't all that much work, I'm certain of it! Here, let me call Nea, her family has goats!"

"Loki, we are not getting a goat," I sigh.

This trip to the Faire is backfiring on me majorly it seems!

The miniature goat is very cute, I have to admit...

I take my eye off Loki for one minute and he has moved on to the next animal.

"Who is a pretty girl? You are! look at those beautiful big eyes!"

"Awww, Mari, will you look at this face! May I have a...."

"NO LOKI!" I yell before he can finish. "You can play and pet the animals all you want, but you can't take them home!"

We stay for a while longer and play with the animals.

"Are you sure you don't want to keep it?" Loki asks hopefully.

I glare at him.

"I'd make an amazing farmer," Loki tries to persuade me.

"You'd have to get up before dawn and muck out their stables and coops," I remind him.

"Don't I have you to..." Loki stops talking just in time before he can suggest that is my job.

"two cats and a dog is enough," I say firmly.

Just before Loki can protests, my phone rings.

"Hey, the romance festival is on today! There will be all sorts of activities. Kitty is bringing Dean. Do you two want to come too?"

To my relief, Loki is instantly distracted. We hop in a taxi and go to San Myshuno to meet with Nea, Kitty and Dean!
