There was a scenario I had imagined in which Mario would suffer emotional trauma and keep it to himself to the point of becoming depressed, growing more distant and avoiding others as a result. He would so desperately want for his loved ones to be at peace that he would rather endure unbearable misery in silence than speak on it; not knowing just how tired he really is and how badly he needs to be comforted.

So when Peach would finally -and ever so gently- confront him on the matter, his walls would crumble almost immediately, and he would break down in front of her. Anguish and exhaustion slowly giving way to healing. ❤️‍🩹

I just find it very interesting that all the labour classed as lesser (most often seen as "women's labour") becomes indispensable in moments of crisis. It's just interesting to see how quickly people turn to that labour and then discard it in moments of peace or prosperity, devaluing it until another crisis hits.

it’s a little frustrating sometimes to watch people try to “debunk” gay mike evidence by quibbling over things that are. kind of beside the point? like arguing that mike’s consistently negative (or even neutral, if you want the benefit of the doubt) reactions to girls aren’t “disgust” therefore they don’t mean anything. but like 1. yeah i agree, cates gate isn’t about mike being “disgusted.” mike’s face when el kisses him isn’t “disgusted.” mike’s reaction to el, to max, to girls in general doesn’t really read to me as “disgust” either. so 2. what DOES it read to you as? incredulity? confusion? discomfort? those…. still aren’t positive reactions.

the point is that mike actively and blatantly Does Not react positively toward el kissing him. and he also Doesn’t react positively to dustin’s description of a girl being “hotter than phoebe cates.” he asks “is she cute?” with maybe preemptive incredulity (in line with will's question "girls go to science camp?") over a girl who goes to science camp being cute, or perhaps just a neutrally curious state over dustin's new girlfriend, but then dustin doesn’t say “she’s hotter than phoebe cates.” he says, “think phoebe cates. only hotter.” that’s a prescriptive statement. you want to know if she’s cute, mike? think about phoebe cates, and then imagine someone hotter than that. and mike’s expression doesn’t improve in the slightest. think about someone hotter than phoebe cates, dustin tells mike. and mike? remains confused and entirely unintrigued. no, he’s not disgusted, but the point is not his negative reaction, it’s a complete lack of any sort of positive reaction. if he’s listening to dustin, he should have, in that moment, thought of phoebe cates. and his reaction?

nothing.

this might sound like a weird thing to say but it's a little bit strange how many people love writing abt dick grayson's trauma but totally ignore blockbuster's literal campaign of terror in favor of focusing completely on catalina and his being sexually assaulted by her. i get that its probably just bc thats a much more relatable (and easier to project on) experience than losing your home, being stalked and terrorized, having your friends and family murdered and grievously injured, not to mention being pushed to your literal breaking point and having to betray your most firmly held values to protect yourself and your loved ones. like, everything having to do with blockbuster AND catalina are inextricably linked and it's a little weird to focus all of your attention on just one of the many many terrible things that happened in nightwing 1996

Since Hirano based Hellsing: Ultimate of of Coppola’s ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ (aka my favorite guilty pleasure movie of all time), and the of course we all know that the main plot of the movie was Dracula reuniting/falling in love with the reincarnation of his wife, Elisabetta, Mina Harker.

So please, I am begging, use that ridiculously beautiful and talented brain of yours to cook up some delicious pre-Alucard (Dracula) x Mina HCs, please?

Hi! While Hirano was undoubtedly influenced by the movie just as much as the novel, going so far as to lift specific frames for manga panels and of course running with the Vlad the Impaler = Dracula theory that it popularized, I feel like Alucard’s specific characterization is more in line with the novel than the movie? So I don’t usually view the reincarnated wife aspect of the film as part of Hellsing lore.

Basically I feel like if it was present we’d see the dead wife he’s pining over at all. And Hirano while completely stealing the method of turning into a vampire from the movie (cursing god, drinking some blood, and wishing really damn hard lmao) he also went out of his way to completely change the circumstances from the death of Dracula’s (entirely fictionalized lol) wife to his own attempted execution. I think he did generally go a vaguely more historically inspired route with the glimpses we see of Dracula when he’s still alive.

That is to say, I don’t have any Hellsing specific Dracula x Reincarnated wife Mina headcanons. And I personally just view Dracula era Alucard as very impersonally cruel, so I can’t see him interacting with her in a way that isn’t predatory of a purely “playing with your food” variety. I’m sorry 😭😭

27. What causes them to feel dread?

What DOESN'T cause Klieg to feel dread? 😭 As much as he tries to act calm, confident, and self-assured, this man is a massive ball of anxiety! I'd be here all day if I started listing everything that makes him nervous.

The biggest thing continues to be his Impostor syndrome, and he just exists every day fearing that someone will see him as a fraud and undeserving of his position, which is how he sees himself.

He feels undeserving of his position but also doesn't want to lose it because of how long it took him to get to a place where others actually see him.

As well as feeling like he'll never find anyone he can share his work with who happens to be as excited about it as he is... I guess it's why I like his dynamic with Rouxls so much, even if they're very silly and are mostly a comedic duo in the AU x)

Not only he gets to share, but he's also challenged to listen, which Klieg is often too self-absorbed to do (Not out of malice, he's just very fixated on what he likes <3

F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?

I love all my OCs, I don't think I ever made any effort to hide that! And I've mentioned a few times that all of them tend to reflect facets of my personality, and they have helped me cope and better interpret my feelings by projecting them onto someone who isn't myself.

I don't know if that makes sense to anyone? Think of that one Tumblr post that said something along the lines of teaching yourself self-love by making your favourite characters go through what you're going through, and reflect on how you wouldn't punish those characters for behaving in response to how they were treated.

But tangents aside, Klieg is also like that for me, though he's more of a way for me to deal with how lonely it can feel to be so enamoured with your work but not getting the response you wish you could have.

The impostor syndrome of wondering how I've come a place where there are people who enjoy my work and how I often feel undeserving of it, or wondering how long until it will take until people realize there are better artists out there, I suppose?

Not all negative things tho, my characters bring me much joy and Klieg is no exception! He's very eccentric and I just get so much happeniness out of drawing him enjoying his work!

Even if most times it's more fun drawing him dealing with the consequences of being stuck up and mean to others >:) All in good fun tho, I like Klieg's arc in the AU a lot
