I've just watched “Dune 2” at the cinema. I absolutely fell in love with Feyd Rautha e and I must admit I ship him with Paul Atreides 👀🖤.

So I was scrolling through Pinterest (as one does when you're bored) and I realised that I've told you about the tattoo I have, but nothing about the ones I still want to get.
So here are some pictures of things I still want on my body :)
(And a short summary of why I want them)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jumping straight into the deep stuff; this one really speaks for itself, but the small nod towards lyrical mastermind Taylor Swift is what makes me love this tattoo so much.
This is the name of Louis Tomlinson's upcoming album, in his handwriting. He posted this phrase on twitter during the beginning of the pandemic and I've tried to life by that ever since. Just having faith that tomorrow/the future will be better.
An inside joke to myself and my insomniac tendencies. But also my love for the moon and stars.
I already have a tattoo with The Sis, but I want to get this one for her as well.
This verse means so much to me. It's literally been a red line throughout my entire life. And when I got baptised this is the verse I got from my church, and from at least 6 other people written on cards.
You have no idea how much I needed to see this today. Tattoos and all talk and plans of them just make me so incredibly happy.
1 - Long story short. LONG STORY SHORT. LONG STORY SHORT. Britt, this is perfect. It's like a lengthened version of the semi-colon, and I hope you get it someday, just as I hope you get all of these.
2 - Faith in the future is a good line to live by. Keep looking forward, and when you forget, it'll be right there with you, where you can look at it and remember.
3 - I love the moon one so much. It's so simple and subtle, but it just pulls me in (also, yeah, huge nod to that). Would you get the flowers in it too?
4 - Is that a lily of some sort? It's a bit hard to tell, but it's lovely. Oh! You could make it your fire lily (or whatever it was called; sorry, can't remember now, brain has died as it does) because red head.
5 - I'll admit, I had to look the verse up as I'm not religious, but that is perfect. It also sort of ties in nicely with 'faith in the future', doesn't it?

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.
For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.
The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.
So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.

calling my lover "mine" but not in the way that my toothbrush or notebook are mine, mine in the way my neighborhood is mine, and also everybody else's, "mine" like mine to tend to, mine to care for, mine to love. "mine" not like possession but devotion.

A general tip for students who are sending those dreaded Religious Absence Emails to your professors: Rather than asking permission to take the day(s) off, politely let them know that you will be taking the day(s) off.
In other words, consider not saying this:
"May I miss class on [date] so I can observe [holiday]?"
It's not that there's anything wrong with the above, per se. But because it's phrased as a request, it risks coming across as optional — a favor you hope to be granted. Problem is, favors are not owed, and so unfortunately asking permission opens the door for the professor to respond "Thanks for asking. No, you may not. :)"
Instead, try something along the lines of:
"I will need to miss class on [date] because I will be observing [holiday]. I wanted to let you know of this conflict now, and to ask your assistance in making arrangements for making up whatever material I may miss as a result of this absence."
This is pretty formal language (naturally, you can and should tweak it to sound more like your voice). But the important piece is that, while still being respectful, it shifts the focus of the discussion so that the question becomes not "Is it okay for me to observe my religion?", but rather, "How can we best accommodate my observance?"
Because the first question should not be up for debate: freedom of religion is a right, not a favor. And the second question is the subject you need to discuss.
(Ideally, do this after you've looked up your school's policy on religious absences, so you know what you're working within and that religious discrimination is illegal. Just in case your professor forgot.)
