Just Grim and Reader looking at each other and asking to themselves if they have just meet their secret brother, and Ace, Deuce, Ortho, Idia and parental figure!Trein being confused to their friend (Grim for Adeuce, Reader for Ortho and Idia) having (a possible) brother.

You’re one of the only beastmen in Ignihyde - and you’re okay with that. It gets a little lonely at times but that’s nothing new for an Ignihyde student. People mind their own business, you mind yours. And the only friends you have, in this case the Shroud brothers, basically forget that you’re different from the others. Days are hardly interesting, despite the college’s many atrocities - or maybe because, and now you’re desensitized.

Until one day, you spot a creature, all feline-like and sitting on someone’s shoulder. Okay, not the weirdest thing you’ve seen at NRC so far, so you’re about to shrug it off. Then you see it; a tail and a pair of ears that are eerily similar to your own. What’s next, it can manipulate fire as freely as you do?

“Hey guys, I’ve got a new trick up my sleeve. Watch this!”

One thing you didn’t expect for it to have something in common with you is that it can talk. Though maybe you should be less surprised, considering even the paintings on the walls can talk in this place. But still. You forget that you should be expecting something from the words it just spouted and are caught off guard when it starts spewing fire next. This creature is way too talented at throwing out stuff from its mouth, you think as you jump out of the way just in time to avoid being burnt to a crisp.

“Grim, you can’t just spit fire whenever you want to! We’ve been over this!”

A redheaded student in front of you starts to scold the creature whose name is Grim apparently. He looks familiar but you can’t quite put your finger on it-

“You’re just jealous, Ace.”

Oh, you feel like Idia’s talked about this Ace person before. He described him as “crafty” and seemed to think of him as some sneaky extrovert but you’ve learnt to not put much faith in Idia’s descriptions of other people. No offense to your friend but at least he’s somewhat self-aware of how anxious he gets around others.

“I definitely am not??? This is the same thing that almost got us expelled, you know!”

You feel like you may also have heard of a group of first years almost getting expelled until they somehow got their hands on a magestone the headmage told them to get, as if you can just swing by a store and buy one. You know how hopeless Headmage Crowley and dumping a lot of work on a bunch of freshmen is in character but you can't help but feel disappointed anyway.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree. You really have to learn how to keep your pride in check…”

Another student, blue-haired and you assume is Ace’s friend, chimes in on the scolding. The student whose shoulder Grim has made himself at home only shook their head, most likely accustomed to his behavior. You watch them bicker as you ruminate on the resemblance of that strange creature to you.

After a few minutes of thinking (and walking so that you don't lose them), you decide that the fact that you were almost a victim of Grim’s flames is strong enough of an excuse to allow you to approach the friend group.

“Hey. You four.”

They turn around to notice you finally (though you can hardly blame them – save for Idia and his glow-in-the-dark-esque hair, Ignihyde students are not noticed as much). It takes them a second to realize that you're no ordinary student. When they do, their jaws fall open, letting out a wild “Huh?!”.

Grim himself jumps off the quiet student's shoulder and stands on his two feet. The day is getting crazier and crazier the longer you entertain this coincidence. He then points at you and begins his bullshit-spewing again.

“W-Who are you?! And why do you look like me?!”

You should be asking the same questions right now but the lack of answers for them makes any word on the tip of your tongue die before they can escape. Plus, the way he's saying his words sound more accusatory than you’d like to admit.

“Don’t look at me! I'm just like this!”

Grim doesn't seem satisfied by your answer and honestly, you can't blame him. You both are quite confused by what's happening at the moment. You two resort to unconsciously recreating the two-Spidermen-pointing-at-each-other meme. The other three students also seem to be at a loss from what they're witnessing.

Ace Trappola

He would laugh at Grim and point out how he's not special anymore but he's too stunned to even say anything (at least for now)

He looks you up and down again then pinches himself to make sure he’s not hallucinating

He feels like he should be less surprised and that the uncanny resemblance could just be passed off as a coincidence but he has to admit, seeing you two as not brothers may prove to be a little difficult for him

He gets used to you two over time and stops questioning it altogether. Sometimes he even forgets

At times, he’d poke fun at Grim and say how you two are way too different personality-wise to even be correlated in some way

But deep down, he’s happy for Grim he found someone similar to him 

He won’t say that aloud obviously.

Deuce Spade

His eyes dart from you to Grim then you again. This goes on for a minute

He almost asks you if you can also breathe fire so recklessly

He ends up interrogating you, like a parent doing a background check on the friend you just brought home

Sooner or later, he concludes that you two are “bros”, despite not having the same feline characteristics

He’s glad Grim found his long-lost brother (he gets a smack from Grim for this)

He would notice how Grim’s smiles oftentimes are wider when you’re around, probably feeling some kind of kinship with you

And he gets that - since you all are “bros” now, he’s more than willing to have your backs now

After sorting things out with the freshmen, you return to your cave like the nerd that you are, feeling more exhausted than usual. To your surprise, you also return to two nerds being in said cave. A Shroud brothers ambush is not something that happens too often.

“Hey (Y/N). We decided that your place needs trashing. Also Ortho wants to try out this new game he found but it needs at least three players.”

Sounds about right. The geeks are geeking out as usual, just at your place this time. But you need them to hear about how crazy today was. You open your mouth to say something-

“I tried to convince him to get Azul but you know how stubborn my brother is.”

Ortho cuts you off and you force a nervous chuckle as a response. You agree but you should really get this off your chest-

“Hm? Did you guys hear something~?”

Idia teases and it brings a genuine laugh out of you and Ortho. Then you take a deep breath and release it. Third time’s the charm, right? You try again.

“Listen, you two. You wouldn’t believe what happened today.”

They perk right up at the promise of gossip (specifically, gossip related to you). You jump a bit from the excitement, finally glad you got their attention. Your hands start to gesture while you tell today’s story.

“I found this… cat. His name is Grim? He has the exact same ears and tail that I do! And he can breathe fire too! Except he does it with no regards to his surroundings whatsoever. That’s kinda concerning.”

Idia Shroud

“You saw wittle Gwimmy??? Man, I’m so jealous… I’ve been in need of some cat therapy for a while now…”

By the sound of it, he already knows who he is. You gasp dramatically at this, feeling betrayed at the fact he never told you about him

He tells you to chill and simply excuse that he didn’t think it was that important or anything

Of course, at first he was shocked but then he pondered about the coincidence - concluded that weirder things have happened and can happen

You’re unamused by this but it is very Idia. You suppose if you have a curse where it burns blot in your body nothing can really be seen as weird

Still, he entertains the possibility of you having a non-human distant cousin

If he isn’t already so nerdy, it feels like he’s growing a second brain trying to theorize what your relation to Grim is…

Ortho Shroud

Also already knows who he is. This truly is a Shroud brothers ambush… of betrayal at that

Theatrics aside, you try to pry him for further information and maybe explain how you and Grim may be related

“Sorry (Y/N), I’d love to help but Grim has been avoiding both of us for a while now. Whether that’s intentional or not, I’m not sure, but I sure wish I was with you when you ran into him. I’m sure I could’ve gotten some valuable information from him!”

You have your doubts about that.

While you keep things to yourself, Ortho provides you with Grim’s surface level information - which is basically nothing

So you two vow to get closer to Grim; even with the ulterior motive, it doesn’t hurt to have more friends Idia would beg to differ

Grim-like traits aside, it’ll be eye-opening to him to see if you two are similar in any regard at all - whether it be from your healing presence to your dazzling smile.

The next morning, you walk to your first class of the day: History of Magic. A fairly interesting class regardless of your stance on the subject. Professor Trein goes on and on about something, you write things down in your notebook. Your eyes are on Lucius for half of the class too. Your mind is still stuck on the events of yesterday. You feel like you’d be reminded of Grim any time you lay your eyes on anything feline - including yourself.

At last, class is dismissed. As much as you enjoy the class and genuinely like Professor Trein, you can’t help but feel that classes are dragged out way too much in this college. You pack up your things and you leave around the same time the professor does. So when Grim comes running and tackles you to the hallway floor, he’s there to witness it all.

“Hey twin! Wanna have lunch with us later? You’ll be seating with us cool kids!”

As you try to regain your composure over being literally knocked over and the fact that Grim has already warmed up to you, Professor Trein attempts to comprehend the scene unfolding before him.

Mozus Trein

Yes, of course he needs to scold Grim over misbehaving for the umpteenth time that week, but he’s also in awe of how… similar you and Grim look.

If he’s seen either of you before, whether in vicinity of each other or not, he’s never noticed blame it on the old grandpa eyes

People (and creatures now too, accounting for Grim’s being here) of your traits and abilities are far and few between

As much as he’d like to inquire you two on your ancestries (and their possible connection), he does respect your privacy

He always liked having you in his class but now, he finds himself looking out for you more often, a way to put his energy from his curiosity about you into something else

He’d ask you about your day and jokingly ask how your relationship with your long-lost brother is doing as if he’s not acting like a dad himself

Needless to say, he’s definitely your favorite teacher now.

You accept Grim’s offer for whatever reason and have lunch with the “cool kids”. You feel a little out of place at first, hanging out with people who aren’t the Shrouds, but then you start having lunch with them every other day. Then you start visiting Ramshackle Dorm where Grim is staying and spend time with the others there. At some point, you brought the Shrouds along and they would bring their games.

Suddenly, you know a lot of people. You think to yourself how crazy friendships start. You go from not knowing their name to knowing what they named their pet rock when they were a child. And in Grim’s case, you went from pointing at each other confusingly to pointing at each other for stealing each other’s food.

For the record, he definitely stole your pudding first.

What’s with that sudden pounding, my ass, Idia thought.

His heart was pounding when he woke up and got up from his bed too hastily, skipping beats accompanied by a white noise in his eyes. His heart was pounding when someone approached him in those rare moments he was actually passing through the college corridors, as if shadow crawling on the walls. His heart was pounding when Lucius made his way to Idia, who smiled with a glimpse of hope to hear a soft purr but got a scratch instead.

How would he know what was happening to the main heroine? Was she sick? Or was it the tea the characters shared together? Jeez, were these otome games always that hard? He even let an unanswered thought run through his mind that maybe he underestimated them just a little.

So a new task to his ultimate ‘totally not gonna tackle these problems ever ’ list was added.

⌜ Figure out what a girl in a romance visual novel could think about ⌝

His brain was working to excess when he was given a college task or developing new features for Ortho, thinking over a profitable in-game strategy to clear another dungeon and split obtained rewards between his teammates ー he’s a genius for a reason, after all.

But then again, collide with an 2D isekaied girl whose head is full of pink-colored bubbles of silly thoughts with a romantic hue on them? Never has he felt so stupid in his whole life.

Emotions were luxury. Why care if you’ll get an ending you want even if it would cost you a dozen walkthroughs and myriad retryings? It’s not like he would ever want to experience such dumb feelings in his whole lifetime, ever! 

And yet, something was different. Totally not a meowing notification sound he set specifically for Yuu (he’d rather die than admit he actually did that stupidly embarrassing thing). 

A week has passed since their last meeting. A whole week of Idia freaking out because of Yuu texting to him. At first he thought she was just being considerate and chatting with him out of an awkward feeling when you actually asked someone’s number and then realized that ghosting would be a perfect option but you have a socially approved quality called politeness, so there was no other way out but keep on texting basic things. 

Hell freaking no, Yuu wasn’t that simple and it was driving Idia crazy. 

Being a genius he was, he tried to divide analyzing his new… friend ’s (somehow the word itself wasn’t settling right, causing itching unpleasant feeling somewhere under his ribs) behavior into three stages.

1st stage: denying.

Of course she was sending him Gakemo short videos and frequently asking when the group has debuted, what their fandom name was, how many cats does the maknae* has ー all she had to do was to click on the internet icon and just type all her questions, getting a short summary in return. Maybe this was some kind of extroverts perk, when you actually don’t really want to chat but are still trying to be considerate and ask something…

Idia passed through this stage real quick when she made an ‘ultimate guide to Gakemo’ and uploaded it on her MagiTube channel, staying ever so unbothered by the insanely increasing number of subscribers. She devoted a freaking minute of a whole video to appreciate Idia’s help and thanking him for providing with an accurate info and things.

She’ll be the death of him.

2nd stage: making assumptions.

Okay, maybe she was at least slightly interested in keeping up with him and his interests. For what was it then? Ortho suggested asking her directly, but that option was out of the question. 

Why in the world would she be willing to continue chatting even if they took a little break from the game since Idia was thinking over the answer to the last in-game question?

Somehow he didn’t despise their conversations, genuinely appreciating silly photos of Grim she took. It was just enough to keep him entertained at first, but then Yuu proceeded to send him little greetings, sweet ‘good mornings’ and even more sugary ‘good nights’. 

Idia didn’t want to admit he grew to enjoy them with all his heart. Was he craving affection at least from someone so much that it became almost unbearable to wake up without another ‘gm!!’ from her with a different choice of emojis attached in the end?

But what was the profit for her in all those messages? She was an extrovert, not to mention she was extremely popular! 

3rd stage: getting embarrassed.

He was cringe. The cringiest man alive. Damn, given that he was nearly a freaking Ruler of the Underworld, he would still be the cringiest thing ever existed in the Twisted Wonderland history even underneath. The epitome of cringe, yes, that was the right name for him, waiting for Yuu‘s messages late at night when she was saying she’ll be back after bathing and then coming back only by morning, since she fell asleep out of fatigue. She would always apologize for not wishing good night to him. Oh Sevens, and was it necessary to make another Gakemo edit in an apology?

He felt stupid. Having feelings was the strangest thing he had ever suffered. The warmth flooded his heart as if wax, eroding over a candlestick from a dying candle. He was stuck to feeling undeserving, lacking everything which SSR-tier characters had, he was accustomed to being not enough. 

He wasn’t ready for those little messages of hers to drug him out and experience something flourishing in his chest when he realized he was genuinely thoroughly choosing an emojis to send in response.

Oh Sevens, it was 6:00 am.

A notification with a message popped up on his lockscreen, making him groan and click on his tongue. Sleep deprived again, he proceeded to pull an all-nighter and take a game session with his online teammates. 

Yuu‘s message worked better than any hangover cure. Not as if Idia ever had a hangover.

Isekai Expert ✨ : good morning!! I’m so excited for today~

Idia blinked twice and tried to collect his thoughts altogether, but all in vain since he could remember nothing.

Potionology was okay. Idia liked the subject, it was cool to work alone and mix something in a cauldron, but not freaking today!!

He wanted to merge with the furniture, sink through the ground, disappear in the blink of an eye ー all options would suffice, but there he was, awkwardly fidgeting in the corner of the auditorium and failing to hide his flashy hair. His height wasn’t helping at all, given he was almost twice as tall as most of the current second years. 

Sudden thought of being able to trace Yuu in this crowd somehow was quite calming, but a sweet feeling lingered only for a mere second. 

Right. She was an extrovert. 

It was Lilia who was always hanging around her, and Idia got used to it due to Yuu always nagging about how he was floating midair when she was studying in the library. 

What he did miss was the amount of affection Yuu was receiving from every freaking one in this hellish college.

Lilia did float midair, playing with her hair strands, while she was listening to Crewel’s explanation, her not even noticing Ace bending over her ear and whispering something. Grim used her as a means of transport, making himself comfortable on her shoulders when Deuce was fixing her protective glasses. As if the whole college was surrounding her, not even giving a place to breathe. 

Idia wondered if she ever was uncomfortable but was too occupied with his own predicament at the moment.

“Yuu, Idia and Lilia,” professor Crewel’s voice ringed in their ears. “You three are working together.”

Yuu gathered Lilia and Idia together, smiling brightly in an excitement to work with her best friend and… another friend?..

“Please take good care of me,” she proclaimed, nodding politely and causing Crewel to chuckle. 

“Pup, more likely it’s you who’ll take care of these two.”

“I’m not sure if I would deny it!” She giggled and turned to her companions. “Alright, shall we start?”

Alright, getting sorted into a team of those wasn’t so humiliating as Idia thought it would, but still he felt as if being sandwiched between two balls of energy, smiles surrounding him and caging in an extrovert trap. Could this whole situation be considered as a quest where he would get a reward from surviving?..

“Idia, are you listening?” Yuu asked, adjusting her gloves and grabbing materials, skimming through a manual given by professor Crewel at the same time. What a multi-tasking queen.

“Y-yeah, s-sorry…” a weak response escaped his lips as a long front locks fell on his shoulders when he benched over Yuu‘s small figure in an attempt to take a look at an manual Yuu was holding in order to get what he could do in order to get over this task real quick. 

“Guys, let me deal with preparations and mixing impurities in a mortar, I want to be at least a little of help,” signature smile appeared on her face, making Idia startle for a moment and try his best to ignore Lilia’s suspicious glances.

“Sure thing, sweetie,” Lilia replied and watched her making her way straight to the shelves filled with bottles of various contents. 

Idia allowed himself to take a deep breath and relax a little since Yuu wasn’t in his personal space (read as anyone within 20 meters) anymore. She wasn’t uncomfortable or overwhelming to be with, but rather… Yuu just shone too bright for him, overpassing the brightness of his fire hazard hair. 

He watched her trying to get something from a shelf she couldn’t reach as something just popped in his mind, urging him to offer his help, but of course he wasn’t the protagonist in this game called ‘Try getting Yuu‘s attention’ everyone was playing. It was Malleus who approached her in a loose manner, genuinely smiling at her and getting a dark purple bottle. SSR-tier character, absolutely OP, a whole ultimate material she’d totally simp for and ー

“You youngsters always manage to surprise me with your antics~”

Oh Sevens, Idia thought he fell straight into the Underworld itself as he jolted at a sudden Lilia’s remark.

“W-wha ー”

“Don’t you worry, you’ll get a chance to impress her someday~”

“I, ugh… Wh-what do you mean?..”

“Who knows… Just don’t hesitate, there’s a game-changing reward in the end.”

Right, Yuu mentioned Lilia was always the type to speak in riddles, but this was another difficulty level he couldn’t possibly surpass at the moment.

When Yuu returned with all preparations done Idia and Lilia proceeded to do their parts, accompanied by Yuu‘s encouraging words and little songs she hummed, from one of which actually recognized Gakemo’s latest b-side which went viral on social media and especially became a perfect material for editors makers. Really, she was cultured so much…

Professor Crewel asked them to show their work at the end of the lesson. Yuu was the one who presented everything, as if advertising a product for boosting magic energy and stamina (Idia even thought he heard Azul scheming something, being all ears at Yuu‘s presentation). Crewel asked Lilia and Idia to fill an empty test tube with their magic, and they did just so, then took a sip of the potion and took flasks this time, filling them once more. Crewel compared test tubes and flasks, giving a nod and appreciating how the magic color became more vibrant. 

“Since the potion wasn’t meant to be limited to magic boost only, prove to me that it has a great impact on stamina, too,” Crewel demanded, glaring at Yuu. She agreed, taking a potion in her hands and taking a deep breath. The thing is, she never tested potions she worked on since they only were meant to have an impact on magic abilities only.

“Alright!” Idia spotted Lilia frowning for a mere second, not actually liking his expression. 

Yuu took a sip from potion and demonstrated a few push ups she never really showed at Vargas’ lessons and then even jumped that high she was finally able to reach the highest shelf by herself. Amazed at her own abilities, she giggled, suspecting that was quite enough to prove that their potion worked.

“Beware of her, pups,” Crewel chuckled, taking notes and congratulating them on getting excellent marks today. “She may surpass you one day.”

“Huhu, isn’t she already?~” 

Idia took a quick glance at Yuu and got tensed when she spotted her biting her lip and placing her hand behind her back on the table in order to keep steady, she didn’t look good.

A permanent genuine smile plastered on her face wasn’t as calming as it used to be.

Idia rushed to get back home as quickly as he could. Enough with social interactions for today!!

“Oi, Idia!” 

No, no, no, silly, why would she yell in the schoolyard where everyone turned their heads to her and to him particularly, observing his awkward stance and then proceeding to stare. Ugh, why would she address him in such a crowded place andー

“Y-yeah, what do you want…”

He didn’t mean to sound rude but she didn’t seem to care, or maybe preferred to ignore this attitude of his, remaining considerate.

“A-actually,” she stuttered, her face looking paler. “It has been a long time since we hung out together. I wondered if you would be against my company for the rest of the day.”

“N-no, w-what are you saying!” Oh Sevens, how embarrassing this line was. “I’m o-okay..”

“Wonderful! Let’s go then?”

He nodded, thinking how awkward he looked, trying to figure out by what hand of hers should he walk, if she preferred to be from the left when she walked with someone, or was it more comfortable to be beside someone’s right? In any case, she didn’t say anything and just turned around to smile at him.

Oh Sevens, what’s with that indefinable tugging in his chest?

Just right when they reached the Hall of Mirrors, Yuu suddenly gasped and turned to Idia with an apologetic look.

“I forgot my books on the rooftop when I was having lunch with Lilia… Could you please wait for me here? I promise I’ll be back real quick!”

Realization hit him, as if in-game choice popping up in front of, options floating midair.

It took him a half of a minute to gather all his thoughts, weigh all pros and cons of his next step, and finally made his choice, biting his lip just before voicing it out.

“I-it’s fine, I’ll go with you… I-it won’t take a lot of time…”

Jeez, he was going absolutely insane. What, did he actually want to play a protagonist role in a jitney otome novel, trying to woo a female lead who obviously had better options? All she had to do was pick one, given she already managed to befriend The Malleus Draconia.

And there he was, waiting for her gathering all her belongings and almost ready to go back to his dorm. 

Thankfully, there was no one on the rooftop, and Idia sunk deep into his thoughts, calculating in his head whether they should watch a movie together or play some other games, he could introduce her to the Star Rogue lore, or they could rewatch Gakemo best performances ー

He didn’t realize a whole five minutes passed with Yuu staring somewhere into the sky and complaining quietly that the air turned quite stuffy. The realization hit him with small sharp needles of rainfall. 

He quickly made his way under the roof, feeling how the tips of his hair became steamy, scalding vapor dancing on his neck and shoulders. Idia sighed and took a quick glance at Yuu, her still standing beside the roof railing and slowly turning to him.

She seemed so… out of reach. Idia thought if she would turn to sand in any second and slip through his fingers, eluding him forever. 

“Right as I wondered how your hair would react on the rain,” no malice was heard in her words. “I’m sorry, I just… No, it’s nothing. Let’s go! Oh, and don’t worry, I have an umbrella with me.”

U-umbrella?! Oh no, another challenge awaited him, and THAT one was rated as S-rank difficulty one. Should he just embarrass himself and get his hair wet, a literally extinguished fire replacing his usual blue flames? Or would it be better to carry her umbrella so they wouldn’t get soaked together since she was obviously smaller than him?!

It was worse. 

She was the one to hold the umbrella all the way long just because she found it amusing to try managing the whole trip and jumped a little when it was really hard to cover Idia. Even worse that she actually succeeded and Idia cringed at the way he didn’t do at least something to help her. Again.

Idia hated himself for not cleaning his room up today. And even if Yuu convinced him it was okay and he should visit Ramshackle dorm someday so that he would never again think of his room as of mess, but mess aside, he forgot to turn off his PC.

With the cringiest isekai manga he was reading just to kill some time before going to sleep.

“A-argh, that’s not what you think!!”

Yuu just burst into laughter, while Idia was agonizing he embarrassed himself so damn much for today it was unbearable. 

“Goodness, I didn’t know you read such things! That one is a real cringe, though,” she commented on the opened frames with the heroine saying nonsense to her love interest. Then an idea came to him.

“How’d you know it’s cringe? Did you read it yourself? Sevens, don’t tell me you prefer such lame things over Star Rogue manga adaptation…” 

“Answering your question, yeah, I guess I just consume everything of the genre… And I didn’t have a chance to actually play Star Rogue, not to mention I didn’t even know there was a manga!!”

“Jeez, you’re so uncultured. Alright, gotta introduce you to the actual masterpiece. Get another controller, we’re about to pull an all-nighter in order to make you a Star Rogue expert.”

“Ooh, I like the spirit! Let’s start!”

He wasted no more second, adjusting his floating displays while Yuu took her personal pillow to sit on and grabbed a controller, ready for the introduction. 

The first few hours were considerably okay. Yuu was actually having fun and trying to grasp all the lore alongside with the gameplay and listened to Idia’s ramblings and mutterings, his speech turning into a current of incoherent phrases she was diving through, chickling sometimes.

Something wasn’t right with her body. 

She immediately thought of standing under the rain and getting soaked, but then her attention switched to the other event that happened today, potionology class that would be. Was it because their potion went wrong somewhere? But Idia seemed to be completely fine. Then she came to a conclusion she felt so sick due to her showing no possession of magic, while the potion was accustomed for magicians only. Shit, she thought, trying to cover her ailment with a gentle smile and concentrating on Idia talking.

Turned out her plan wasn’t much of help as Idia just paused the game, looking displeased with Yuu’s attention lacking.

“Hey, you won’t get the next scene if you skip this one!”

“S-sorry, it’s just… Could we take a little break? We were sitting this whole time for three hours straight.”

“E-ergh, alright. I guess you’re not so used to long gaming sessions as I thought!”

“Yep, but I bet you won’t last long reading manga! Damn, you missed my best manga-addict era, poor you~”

Idia sighed and took a quick glance at her, noticing her cheeks getting redder in a rather unhealthy way.

“U-uhm, actually, can I ask you a question?..”

“Sure, why not.”

“H-how…” he stuttered for a mere second when she switched her attention to him fully, looking straight into his eyes, making him avoid her gaze. “A-are you feeling after getting isekaied? I mean, you’re an isekai expert after all…”

She giggled and closed her eyes, as if she was recalling something.

“Promise you won’t cringe.”

“I would,” he replied half-jokingly. “I-it’s just… when manga heroines happen to isekai it always feels as if it’s not enough. Like, you know, don’t you all extroverts have your family, friends and stuff back at home?”

“Oh…”

She took a deep breath, opening her eyes and staring somewhere into the wall in front of her. 

“It's lonely. I miss my parents and friends. I had my routine back home, I was normal, and here I am, being absolutely magicless in a college full of magicians, always getting drugged into dangerous situations. I almost died, like, six times?” Idia personally felt himself included into this list of the reasons she got heavily injured and barely made it alive.

It was disgusting. He felt as if he was about to make himself out of the room, out of her circle of… friends? She was so strong and collected, while here he was, stuttering over nothing and stressing himself out just because he didn’t manage to pull his favorite character card in some shitty gacha game he was playing just to kill some time , when she was facing situations where she herself was almost killed.

He gulped at the thought of losing her one day, and an echinate sensation creeping inside him and wrapping thorny vines around his heart made Idia bite his lip hard.

“Sometimes I just think about whether I should return or not. It’s not like I know how but if I would, then what would my final decision turn into in the end? I have everything there, and yet I don’t have anything at the same time. I feel awful, as if I’m betraying my real self, making myself split into two parts: one remained back in my home, and one is the current me I’m presenting to everyone here. And the final question is always… which of the homes I have I can refer to as ‘my’ at this point?

Idia wasn’t thinking. An inexplicable impulse running through his entire body made him swallow nervously and cover her hand with his. It was suffocatingly awkward, and he wasn't sure— anything at all —whether she needed his support, but the overflowing warmth he had felt from their first meal together turned into a fond memory, and he sincerely wanted to calm her down for a mere second.

“i… “ she muttered. “T-thank you. Truly.”

“N-no problem…”

Unexpected fatigue covered her little figure when Idia tried to voice his speech he was mentally preparing in order to give a reply she deserved, but even though she did hear a few lines, Yuu closed her eyes and let out a small weak sigh, causing Idia to flinch a little. Did she not want his support in the end?..

“H-hey, I just wanted to… Huh?”

She rested her head on his shoulder, strands of her hair tossed on her face in a cute mess way. Idia stared at her parted lips with a cherry colored tint on them, which glittered prettily under the dim blue lights of his room and didn’t notice how the tips of his hair turned rosy, going from little flickers to massive bright sparkles.  

She leaned to his side with her whole body, almost sliding down, and he just realized she lost her consciousness and wasn’t controlling herself, her body hot and her cheeks almost burning. 

Oh Sevens, thankfully Ortho rushed into the room, looking worried, and found the two of them in an awkward position.

“Brother!! I just got a notification that your heart rate went crazy!” he proclaimed. “Is everything okay?!”

“I… I’m… Y-yeah, I’m fine, but Yuu… Check out her body temperature, please. It might be a fever.”

“Okay, leave it to me!”

With that Idia watched as Ortho placed her on Idia’s bed and then turned away as Ortho was managing with Yuu‘s clothes in order to loosen the tie so she can breathe easier. 

“I found traces of the potion in her respiratory tract, brother. Everything’s going to be okay, just let her rest a little, I’ll bring everything needed.”

“Y-yeah, alright… Thank you.”

As Ortho left the room Idia looked at Yuu and approached her, as if led by something intangible, not realizing his actions, and adjusted the blanket, taking a quick glance at her lips once more and almost weightlessly touching her fingers.

He figured out the answer for the last in-game choice this time.

Round One, Fight! (Idia Shroud x gn!Reader)

After your moment in the library, you asked Idia if you two could go on your first date. Much to your surprise, he said yes and even more to your surprise, you're going to an arcade (well not that much more to your surprise but you get it).

AN: thank you guys so much for the support on my first fanfic! it really makes me happy to see so many people liked it so I decided to make a sequel (*´ω｀*) (I mean I was probably gonna do one anyways but seeing that so many people liked the first one made me wanna put this out sooner) (really I love you guys (´ . .̫ . `))

"Are you sure?!"

A couple minutes earlier, you asked Idia if you two could go on a date since you wanted to do something as more-than-friends ever since you confessed to each other at the library. Sitting next to you on his bed, shocked, Idia began to think of all the possible date ideas you two could do.

He crossed off the library because that was sorta like your guy's 0th date and no one likes repeated event ideas. He crossed out the movies since it's basically packed with people and he didn't want anyone to see him make a move on you, or vice versa. He crossed off the amusement park because he found nothing amusing about his anxiety getting worse after getting on the rides; also, lots of people. He was starting to lose hope; well, until it hit him that is.

"What about an arcade" he proposed, eyes focused on what your reaction might be "I can't think of anything else really and it probably suits me too, doesn't it?"

"Are you sure?!" you responded with concern laced in your voice. You knew Idia well enough to know that he doesn't do well with people. And it didn't help that the closest arcade to Night Raven College was pretty busy and filled with NRC students having fun on their days off. As much as you loved the idea of hanging out with him there, you didn't wanna risk him getting too overwhelmed or worse.

"I'm sure" Idia said, breaking the silence, "If we go around when the arcade closes, there might be less people and we won't have to wait as long to play the more fun games!" You've never seen Idia this excited to go outside before, unless maybe it was with Ortho and the robo-child begged his brother to hangout with him. From his hair swaying at a pace faster than normal to his sharp teeth peeking out of his blue-lipped grin, you were happy to see how fired up he seemed (pun intended).

"Alright then" you said, packing up your stuff from the two of you's previous gaming session, "It's a date!" The boy sported his usual nervous demeanor after hearing you mention it was a date, as if he had forgotten. However, he shook it off, both literally and metaphorically, and he helped you pack your stuff.

"So, is this Saturday alright with you?"

"Of course! Just make sure not to chicken out on me and stay cooped up in your room all day!" He rolled his eyes as you made chicken noises at him childishly.

"I won't I won't" he insisted, "Just promise to meet me at my room at around 5, ok?" He held out his pinky waiting to wrap it around your's.

"I promise! Have a good night!" You left Idia's room as he shut the door behind you. Once it was closed, he backed himself against it, dropping to the floor while holding the backs of his knees. Saturday couldn't come fast enough.

°*~*°*~*°*~*°*~*°*~*°

Contrary to popular beliefs, Saturday did come fast enough. Up until then, Idia was worrying: worrying about what to wear, what you guys were gonna eat, if Ortho was gonna be lonely while he was gone, if you two were gonna KISS! All the while you just went about your normal school day, only partially aware of how much he was panicking.

Idia was fixing up his outfit, wondering if he should put on his regular jacket, as he heard the knock on his door and straightened up. Stumbling to the door, he peaked it open as he did when he first started letting you into his room. He was taken aback; he almost exclusively saw you in your school uniform (and when he didn't it was because you were wearing some of his spare clothes as pajamas), so seeing you in a new outfit felt as if he just pulled a legendary costume from one of his many gacha games.

"Do I have any fur on me" you chuckled half-jokingly, "Grin was being a pain in the ass earlier and annoying me while I was getting dressed."

"It makes the outfit better not gonna lie," Idia teased.

"Damn, I see how it is." You dramatically held your hands against your heart. "Oh! How you've wounded me Mr. Shroud!"

"Ok nerd lmao." The two of you laughed a little too hard at your behavior that Ortho hovered towards you two, genuinely concerned. After Idia told his brother that they were fine and that you two were gonna hang out at the arcade in a bit, the android seemed to get what his brother meant.

"Alright you two" Ortho exclaimed, "Make sure not to get home too late! Don't misbehave! And make sure to be aware that there are other people around if you want to display affection!" Ortho's eyebrows stiffly moved up and down that was likely supposed to convey a sense of smug teasing that looked more cute if anything. Idia muttered some agreements under his breath, embarrassed at his brother's teasing.

"You ready?" you said, looking at him with bright eyes and a wide grin. He screamed internally at how cute you were.

"Probably" he joked, "At least we don't have to rush. If anything, the later we are, the better!"

"Yeah, and then we're so late that we get there once the arcade closes!"

"You're no fun…" The both of you giggled, knowing he wasn't being honest. But, if only you knew how much fun he had just by being in his presence. He was hoping that if you noticed, you'd never leave him.

The walk to the arcade was as quick as it was quiet. You're surprised Idia didn't pass out given how out of shape he was in addition to his heavily-layered outfit. At least he wouldn't be cold in the arcade, good for him!

°*~*°*~*°*~*°*~*°*~*°

You two grabbed your passes and started walking around to find any 2-player games. The first thing your eyes caught was a Street-Fighters machine.

"Y'know I'm gonna kick your ass at this, right?" Idia jeered, "It's like trying to speedrun your way to the boss of a game but you don't know how to speedrun!"

"Shut up, nerd!" you sneered back at him, "Once I wipe that smug look off your face, you're gonna be eating your words!"

"Well, I hope your's taste good for when you eat your own vwee-hee-hee." God, as much as you loved him he could be a smug little bastard when it came to competition. Sadly for you, he had hours on Smash to back himself up.

"It's not fair!" you pouted in his direction, hoping he'd feel sorry for you. Again, given his smug bastard mood he's in, he didn't.

"Oh? Didn't you say something about me eating my own words?"

"That's only cuz you started it!"

"Alright, alright" Idia said with false annoyance in his voice, putting in another token, "I'll give you another chance to defeat me. Don't get too bitter when you lose again lol." If you knew he was gonna be like this, you would've asked if you could go out to a cafe instead.

The game was going as you would've expected: your first life was already down and you're at half health now. Not wanting to lose to him and, even worse, filling up his smugness meter, you decided to play dirty. You moved your foot to kick at Idia's shins.

"What the fU- OW" he yelped as you kicked him again, "Y'know the win won't count if you keep distracting me right? You're just throw- SHIT! You're just throwing in the towel at this point." You sadistically giggled as you took one of Idia's lives.

"Now it's even" you remarked, failing to replicate Idia's grin.

"Even my ass!"

Now at this point, you were trying to both beat Idia in Street Fighters and beat Idia's ankles. Sadly, you still weren't able to beat the man who -definitely- probably spends way too much time playing these sorts of games. Up until now, you'd basically forgotten that you two could've come across your classmates while on your date. That was until you heard a familiar voice.

"Oh my! Is that Idia Shroud and the prefect?!"

"Really?! Jamil, c'mon let's go meet them!"

Idia's eyes widened, trying and pathetically failing to hide behind you. You didn't get why he was trying to hide until you saw Cater and Kalim running towards you two with Jamil and Azul behind them.

"Wow Idia" Azul began, "I didn't know you left your room! I should've brought my camera. I could've made so much madol from this!"

"Q-quiet, Azul" Idia muttered. You sorta forgot how anxious Idia is when he's around anyone but you, Ortho, Grim, and, when he's not being an ass, Azul.

"So what are you guys doing here?" Kalim asked in his usual cheerful tone, not noticing Idia's shivering form.

"I'm more surprised about you guys being here" you replied, noting the odd group stood before you.

"Well" Cater said, "I was bored since Trey and Riddle are busy this weekend. So Kalim asked if I could hang out with him and Jam at the arcade today. Obviously I said yes, duh, and now we're here!"

"What about you Azul" Idia pointed out.

"I came here with the twins and decided to join Jamil and them while Floyd tries to cheat at the skee balls." Jamil scoots away from Azul when he's mentioned.

"You know," Jamil spoke up, small smile on his face, "you two still haven't told us why you're here." Kalim's mouth turned into a little 'o' when he realized you just dodged his question. Idia was still quivering behind you, so if you told them that you two were on a date, he'd probably explode or melt.

"Oh! We're just hanging out too! That's it!" you stated. You probably may have only convinced Kalim, given how perceptive the others were to know that if Idia was outside right now that you two must be a lot closer. Well, they didn't seem to care as Kalim and Cater basically dragged the rest of you along to do whatever they wanted. Luckily for Idia, the boys decided to go to the bathroom short after, giving him a chance to drag you off to hide.

"Oh Great Seven…" he sighed, "Normies s-sure are something else." He shuttered when thinking about how Cater asked him about his day. Oh, what horrors!

"Yeah I could tell," you chuckled, "You looked like you were about to throw up lol." Idia began to redden slightly, either from embarrassment or rage.

"Maybe if I did, we would've been able to leave quicker." The seriousness in his voice concerned you.

"Well, at least they're gone now. So maybe we can get home soon."

"N-no wait!" Idia yelled uncharacteristically of him. He looked at you with his golden orbs (snsjskks), silently pleading for this date to last a little longer. Luckily you picked up on his plea, slightly warmer from his soft, sleep-deprived eyes boring into yours. You grabbed his sleeve and dragged him far away from the bathrooms, and unknowingly towards the photo booth. The boy's eyes widened, shifting between you and the booth.

"Wanna take a picture?" you asked, cocking your head to the side.

"I mean, if you want to take one so bad then sure." Letting out a small snort, you gently shoved Idia into the photo booth and joined yourself. His eyes burned through the back of your head and you fiddled with the settings, heart racing at the thought of getting a picture of you two kissing from the booth.

"Alright!" you exclaimed, facing the nervous nerd, "C'mon! We're on a date, no need to stand so far apart!" The first picture was of you dragging the boy's stiff body closer to you. The second was of you holding up peace signs, your's far more energetic and lively than his. The third was of you flipping of the camera while Idia, unknown to you, looked at you with a soft smile, as if you were the most precious thing on Earth. As the time began to count down for the last picture, Idia gently held your shoulders as he stood next to you.

"Hold still for me please." He whispered gently into your ear.

"Three, two, one." As the shutter clicked, you felt Idia's slightly chapped yet soft lips find rest upon your cheek. Your face grew warmer as did his hair. Idia scrambled toward the back corner of the booth, just realizing what he had done. His large hands covering his face couldn't hide the pink tips of his hair and ears, nor could it hide the small whine coming from his lips. Neither of you said a word for a while, the only noise coming from your feet to move closer together. That was until you heard a staff member yelling about the skee ball machine being broken "for the fourth time in two months god DAMMIT". The two of you started to burst into laughter as you slowly left the photo booth.

For the rest of the night, you guys ate, played more games, talked to the others against Idia's will, and got some prizes.

"That was a bunch of fun!" You grinned, holding the large stuffed cat the boy had won for you in addition to all the other stuff that was held in your backpack.

"I'm surprised to say this," Idia said with his mouth half-full of candy, "but I also had a lot of fun." You began to walk ahead of him, underneath a street light. Your smile was as bright as the light above you. It was as if you were a being more delicate and more precious than anything else alive. He'd always wonder why you decided to hang out with him. Why was he, out of all the boys at Night Raven College, the object of your affection. Normally, he'd let those thoughts sit in his mind, ferment into something darker, more sinister. But tonight, he let them go into the wind.

He ran up to catch up with you, playfully bumping you with his shoulder. You both laughed into the night that you both wished lasted forever.

Vague ideas for future Twisted Wonderland snippets that I can't articulate just yet, and, knowing my luck with the inspiration Gods, isn't likely to get resolved anytime soon.

Either way, they're being forced out into this thing so I don't fucking forget.

These aren't in any particular order.

The basic flurry of panic and tears Subaru goes through after getting sorted into Pomefiore, branching from this, this also likely needs to include Crowley being informed of the situation. Which mostly consists of "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT! I'M ILLITERATE!" and another poor first year diving for cover as they clutch their RSA transfer paperwork like a lifeline.

Grim's reintroduction into NRC and how he becomes the only sentient being allowed under Subaru's comforter in Pomefiore. By admission under duress, Ace still thinks the little demon is out for blood. Possibly a follow up with Diasmonia and Silver playing temporary snuggle buddy while Subaru cuddles with the first year gang.

As above, what changed with Heartslyabul storyline, and why Grim wants Ace to stop coming the fuck over to Pomefiore.

Subaru getting dragged into town so she can get actual clothes that aren't just her school and dorm uniforms by Rook before he bails due to Vice Housewarden duties and dumps her on ADeuce. The trip is ultimately derailed and ends with Subaru pushing TW!Kuzco off of Sage Island's pier and having to book it back to Night Raven before they can be held accountable. Takes place maybe a week and a half before the entire Chapter Three debacle.

Having to go into town, again, post Chapter Three to actually get those clothes before she's forced to attend a public place with Vil. She ends up tagging along with Sebek, Thorne, and Silver as they set about restocking Diasmonia's kitchen utensils, (you know why).

Riddle and Floyd getting caught making out during the immediate wind-down of Chapter Five.

Floyd squeezing Subaru for the first time, and ending up with a head hug for his troubles as Subaru just... quietly collects herself in the aftermath of Chapter One. Ends with Subaru earning a life long menace because she just goes back in for another hug once he lets go, (post chapter one, Subaru's still really fucking jittery but positive affection is positive affection).

Subaru accidentally kidnapping Tsum-Ruggie.

Tsum-Floyd purposely kidnapping Subaru. Featuring Jade as a reluctant recipient to a hug.

The one where it's revealed where the fuck Tsum-Subaru ended up.

The incident that convinced Subaru that all of her upperclassmen needed to collectively get laid. AKA Ghost Marriage. Now with cheek kisses, fifteen year old boys being idiots, and having to pretend to have the hots for your shut-in of an upperclassmen so he doesn't get carted off to the Afterlife, (and a delighted little brother who takes so many pictures and videos).

The thirty minute staring contest that happens during chapter six after Subaru threatens to start waxing lyrical about Idia again. To his parents. Followed shortly by Azul actually waxing lyrical to his parents.

Another less defined idea of Idia subtly trying to get called Shroud-senpai during Star-Sending and Subaru being called an adorable underclassmen by Agatha.

The entire reason Leona is fucking terrified of Ortho in my version of events. Featuring a gleeful Rista Caspian, a sad Agatha, and a deeply traumatized Alek Carris. Oh, and NRC during the third years first six months or so at the College, (excluding Leona, who... was technically still a third year).

Jamil and Agatha play cards and gossip post chapter-four.

What Sebek thinks constitutes as appropriate Courting Practices. Lilia looks on in amusement, Silver vague pity. Thorne and Malleus, meanwhile, are just fuckong confused.

Agatha and Idia's first week at Night Raven. And how Crowley broke his Left arm that year.

Azul Ashengrotto matchmakes.

Jade Leech being the one that actually gets the couples in question to sleep in the same bed.

The somewhat nonessential silly little cluster of scenes where people mix up Subaru's given and family name.

The rather enthusiastic make-out session between Yuuki Subaru and Agatha Paige once they both learn the other is alive in the aftermath of chapter six. Idia and Ortho are even more traumatized. Azul wins a bet. Agatha considers it premeditated revenge to what is bound to happen in Ignihyde between Azul and Idia once they get back, and Subaru is just a little light headed and happy. Neither consider this a prelude to a relationship of any kind.

A conversation had with Lilia during Subaru's birthday event, featuring a look at what being a teenager feels like at fifteen and what it looks like when your well over two thousand years old.

The wholesome little snippet of Riddle and Subaru being stupidly sibling like during an Unbirthday party.

Cater getting the privilege of a Subaru Sanctioned And Approved scrapbook for his birthday. Complete with lots of selfies.

Leona's increasingly elaborate plots to avoid Subaru post chapter-two, because he's a lot of things, but watching one of his tiny underclassmen looking at him in legitimate abject terror over something isn't something he likes dealing with.

So I stop in my tracks and just say “Christofer Drew?” And he stops and he says hi! He asked if I was going to the show and I said no and he goes “well you gotta promise you’ll come to the next one!” Of course I made the promise and I didn’t break it! He came back that summer and I got to see him ❤️ I also met two groups called Breathe Carolina and Crown The Empire. I also met Evan Peters and Sebastian Stan at Comic Con a couple years ago. I live near the Twin Cities in Minnesota, and have a 3.2 G.P.A and would be driving a 1996 4WD Chevrolet Blazer....we got a quote threw Progressive and they said it would be like $400 dollars a month just for no fault there must be some company out there thats cheaper.....Also........Would it be cheaper to go on my dad's insurance....or am i better off having my dad insure me through a different car insurace company. Hello all, I have a couple of questions, this year I plan to purchase my first car. Through having a steady job for almost 3 years, I plan to buy it in my own name at the age 18, I'm 17 now, female, full time student, part time employee. Could I put down payments on a car and keep making payments (without driving it)? What are some good way to acquire the car of my dreams by my 18th birthday (Mazda3 2011; 4 door). So here is my situation: I currently own a 2003 Toyota Matrix that I make payments on. In between the payments and the insurance and gas, it costs about $350 a month to have that car. For the last couple years I've been really interested in getting a motorcycle, specifically a newer Kawasaki. According to my research, I could find a Kawasaki Ninja 250cc for somewhere around $3000. My question is basically how much insurance do I need? Right now I have comprehensive coverage for my car so that if I'm in a wreck and it's totaled I can replace it. If I had a bike AND my car though, I don't want replacement coverage for a secondary vehicle (even one as cool as a motorcycle). I got quotes from Geico and State Farm that put my minimum amount of insurance a month in the neighborhood of around $30. Does this sound accurate to anyone? Also, can anyone just give me some sound advice about owning both vehicles and whether it's worth it?""
