5 MAY — POLARIS are preparing to make their comeback on May 26, according to Dimensions Entertainment. The Grammy-nominated sextet have been busy since releasing their last chart-topping single “Dynamite”, but fans can finally look forward to a comeback from the group. After a surprise logo teaser video was released onto YouTube, Dimensions Entertainment confirmed that Polaris will be releasing their second fully English single “Butter” later this month.

21 FEBRUARY — Dimensions Entertainment recently held their 2023 beginning of year corporate briefing to review their plans and company trajectory for the future year. The briefing was hosted by Choi Dongwook, who was recently announced to take over the CEO position from his uncle after working as the company’s head creative director since 2014.

The briefing began with Choi Dongwook’s introduction of Dimensions Entertainment’s two new creative heads: Lim Jiwon and Lee Junseo. Lee Junseo has worked as a part of Dimensions Entertainment’s creative team for several years, while Lim Jiwon was brought in after previously working with several smaller entertainment companies. The company will take on a triangular creative director structure, with Lim Jiwon and Lee Junseo working as the base of the new creative department and Choi Dongwook continuing to be involved with artistic creative direction by taking special effort to oversee the department. Choi Dongwook shared that his view of Dimensions Entertainment places the creative department and the artists and the heart and soul respectively of the company’s lifeblood.

Choi Dongwook also shared plans for technological and intellectual property expansion to widen the DMSU (Dimensions Universe) with content such as virtual reality, webtoons, and short films reflecting its artists’ worldviews.

As the presentation turned to the idol groups under the company, Choi Dongwook highlighted ARCADIA as torchbearers of Dimensions Entertainment’s creative vision. Arcadia have recently been in demand for brand work and have received love calls for performances and collaborations. In the new year, Arcadia will continue to expand their worldview through ther music and show new and exciting sides of themselves as a group with a new comeback, as well as continue their global expansion with several schedules abroad in areas such as North America and Japan.

QUANTUMPHASE has also continued to grow both their worldview and as artists through their comebacks and contents. In 2023, Quantumphase will continue to release music from their Zero: Fever album series with plans to conclude their latest chapter by the end of the year. Quantumphase will also continue activities in Japan and will pursue new projects to continue to reveal their many talents and charms to fans and the public. Member MIREU’s solo schedules last year that allowed him to show his skills as a model and a host were also touched on.

The section of the presentation dedicated to idol group prospects ended on the company’s senior most group, POLARIS. Choi Dongwook highlighted the group’s recent performance at the Grammy Awards and their domestic and global chart-topping success with “Dynamite” as continued breakthrough moments in the evolution of the group. Polaris will release a Japanese compilation album of their greatest hits this year and will continue efforts at home and abroad to continue to raise their profile as a group. He ended with a mention of the success Polaris’s members have also seen with solo activities within the last year, such as TAEYONG’s solo music endeavours and songwriting and production for various artists across the industry, JAKE’s popularity and critical praise as the male lead in recently-ended drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo, and MIN’s 2022 solo debut and work as a choreographer for Polaris.

notes on Polari:

like Chiffon, he's half-Astral (half-Pengy in his case, hence the coloration and bird feet). unlike Chiffon, since Pengy don't have their own magical way of reproduction, Dedede and Meta had to use a Nova to wish on.

he's about a teenager age-wise, was born when Kirby and Fluff engaged and was Nova's age when Chiffon was born. yes, he's about as tall as Kirby already and he's got more growing to do. he's gonna end up bigger than his astral dad

his wings are covered in short smooth feathers and not fit for flight (thanks to Dedede's Pengy genetics) - at least within planetary atmosphere. he'd fly in space tho, since they make him an excellent swimmer.

feathers have partially changed to his adult coloration, so a couple more molts should even out the color. for now he's kinda marbled

the alula which for astrals is a proper thumb is underdeveloped for now and would be hidden under feathers if they were any longer

yes he lifts.

skilled with swords, hammers and polearms, uses staff as an everyday weapon. his favorite weapon, however, is a poleaxe, and he can switch to it when needed because...

HE'S GOT ICE BREATH BABY. i HC Dedede to be a Pengy after all, and explain his lack of Ice ability (along with him being able to change his kit nearly on the fly with various possessions) with him having magical hyperconductivity - a disorder/defect in one's magical makeup that strips them of their natural elemental affinity, but instead grants them affinity of their environment. (A Burning Leo or a Hothead with that condition upon being put into oceanic environment for a prolonged time would suddenly find itself spewing water instead of fire, for example.) Polari, however, does NOT suffer from the same condition, meaning he's got a built-in Ice ability he can use however he wants. which means ICE. FUCKING. HATCHET.

#Finn's ocs #Finn's art #oc references #i wrote the descs while w the kids so hopefully they make sense. my attention was split #but anyway here in the tags I'll talk about the designs in relation to their kids lol #polaris is emulating thuban moreso than anyone else. her color scheme and outfit motifs are the same as his- they ARE his #her original outfit is clothes she took and diy'd into her own so she could go off into the world and well presumably look for him at first #the truth is she always wanted to see the world that's why she loved maps. in a way this was an excuse. in another way she was just lonely #but doesn't understand loneliness. also the fact that she's not his daughter by blood is part of that #bc of her actual parents (not as relevant character-wise) she sees all relationships as temporary and she has issues connecting #ananke i wanted to mostly look intimidating in a way that Bella really isn't #Bella puts on skull hairties and fishnets and stuff but she's very much. a cute softie trying to look edgy. she has pink twintails #she's so different from her mom in pretty much every way but she still did have that ideal of strength drilled into her #still her take on it is softer. she's the team leader now but she's really pretty lenient aside from the important No Killing rule ofc #w Rhea and Arche i had a bit of a flower theme. pussywillow (lol) means motherhood and buttercups mean childishness #so. mother and child #but rhea is interesting bc she's raising a whole different kid now that she's in a different place in life #if you do the math she had Saiph young. and it was alright for a while until his dad (again not as important) died #so she didn't have support or money. but she had a connection to the guild because his dad's old sword teacher is a member (hmm) #but she was too scared/ashamed to visit. she just left him his dad's old knife because that's all she had (THE KNIFE IS IMPORTANT) #arche is her kid with her second husband and her new beginning. this will cause some inner problems for Saiph when he meets them... #Poerava was kinda designed to have rich lady vibes because remember Al's family is practically nobility #but more importantly she's designed to look like a mom. with the low ponytail and tired eyes #the black pearl of her namesake as the centerpiece of her outfit too #again she's got the healthiest relationship with her kid here by a longshot #but i mean don't worry Al still got the daddy issues so he's not getting away unscathed #I already drew Taurus with the zodiac knights though so i didn't feel the need to reintroduce him #anyway Mira really has 0 connection to any family at all she was found as an orphaned baby after a monster attack #obviously she had parents but beyond town of origin it's unknown who so she has no connections to any sort of past parental figure #the guild is her one and only family and that's how she wants it. she wants to be with them forever the past doesn't matter
