not over it actually . that sol is a clone and what his response to that says about him as a character.
like okay. traditional clone angst shit is like "oh am i real/im not the original/im just a fake copy of someone else/etc etc etc" . and that route of a character arc might have even made sense w sols whole launchpad history - that he self-identifies as a sidekick. but also. maybe that rejection of being the main character is what allows sol to take a different route entirely. swag isnt just his prime clone, hes his "daddyself". sol doesnt really care about being the prime version of himself, he just wants family.
im so deeply fascinated by how the concept of clone-dom intersects w the concepts of family. what is a son but a version of you fated to go through all the same patterns of experience you have. what is a brother but a version of you whose choices has led him to a place you could never go. what is family if not enveloped in fear, love, idolisation and rejection. what is family if not a piece of your heart fragile and vulnerable and walking away from you.
anyway. so like. just compare how mothership sees clones (expendable identical bodies) vs how sol sees clones (brad & bron, youll always be a part of me you are me)
like. does that drive anyone else crazy.
and the original point of this post has completely flown away from me but in a feeble attempt to bring it back. my interpretation of sol is like. sol doesnt want to be a hero, he wants a purpose to fight for. he wants people to fight for. he wants to be part of this thing *bigger than he is* to dedicate himself to. and that used to be the mothership corporation, and has now taken the form of his friends and family. its only natural he would have adapted the spore network, as someone so clearly driven by his connections to other people. it makes so much sense he would see his clone identity this way because ultimately he sees himself in terms of his relationships to other people
(and if you want to be insane like i am, then you can think about sol as a child abandoned and alone in a derelict waterpark, so desperate for any kind of connection that it comes to form a defining character motivation for the rest of his life) 👍

Round 2 Poll:
Picture and propaganda are under the cut!
Rolan Deep (BITB)
Tumblr media
autistic bug.
He just is. I know it. spoilers: also his whole story is literally him being different and not fitting in and masking!!! (as a human but whatever)
Listen… listen listen listen… First of all, he’s a bug. That’s pretty autism to me. Second, he went at least 15 years without realizing that he was said bug. Just like me, going throughout my life without realizing “hey. something’s up.” He’s got sensory issues due to being a bug. That’s how it works because I Said So! Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
Vyncent Sol (Prime Defenders)
Tumblr media
He actively does not pick up on social cues Most Of The Time. He’s also pretty blunt a lot of times, he tells it like it is

anyways following on from my last post I would like to introduce
The Space Cats
I have done the sun, the eight planets, the five undoubtedly confirmed dwarf planets and some choice moons. I have a WIP file for Ganymede somewhere but I'm on my phone right now so I can't get to it
each star system is like a big family, with the star as the parent and the generationality is determined by who orbits who. all the planets, dwarf planets and asteroids are siblings and their children are their moons. this gets weird for Pluto and Charon, I still have to figure out what their dynamic is, but overall, relationships within the same solar system are solely familial. I have to clarify this because someone on Scratch dot mit dot edu did decide to start shipping the space cats (I will have to find that comment thread, it was wild)
Tumblr media
the Sun, otherwise known in the Space Cats universe as Sol (he/him). (I tried to lose a lot of the geo-centric names for some of the astronomical bodies - IE, there are lots of Suns in the universe, our Sun isn't THE Sun, if you get what I mean.) A fun guy, a little too desperate to get with other Stars, if you ask his kids
Tumblr media
Mercury (they/them). Boy I would love to see them and Element Cat Mercury interact. (who am I kidding. I own both characters. I can do that) They are an oblivious little guy with a big imagination.
Tumblr media
Venus (she/her). A dapper, sassy and hot-tempered gal who is always uncomfortably warm
Tumblr media
Earth. The big E. Terra. Gaia. Home. In the Space Cats universe, her name is Tellus (she/her and he/him). Now, I drew this picture a while ago and I don't necessarily agree with how I characterized him here. Tellus is grouchy and sleepy, and only really has patience with her daughter. He has a lot of insecurities about his form because it keeps changing all the time in ways that she cannot predict. Changes to the planets' atmospheres don't make them sick, but he can see the green draining off his fur and that fucking terrifies him.
Tumblr media
The Moon, known in the Space Cats universe as Lune (she/her). She is full of energy and loves new things. She is always happy to inspect Tellus's new growths, but is not really aware of how uncomfortable it makes him. Lune was formed from a traumatic event in which Tellus and the protoplanet Theia collided with each other. Theia was destroyed, but was reformed into Lune. Tellus is haunted by this event and sees Theia whenever she looks at her daughter, but tries to shield her from his anguishes because he loves her
Tumblr media
Mars (he/him). edgelord. His villain arc is becoming frigid and void of life while Tellus has his moment in the Sun. A catty bitch who loves to gossip. He is jealous and can hold a grudge.
Tumblr media
Deimos (he/him) on the left and Phobos (they/them) on the right. Mars's chaos gremlins. He didn't ask for them, they just showed up one day and he cannot get rid of them. Deimos is a feral child who will attack you, and Phobos is a no-thoughts-head-empty child who will watch you while Deimos attacks you. Mars complains to Ceres about how annoying they are, but really, he loves them, and lets them go on with their shenanigans.
Tumblr media
Ceres (she/her). a little kitty with a big personality. She is plucky and can stand up for herself. She makes herself heard even when surrounded by massive cats like Jupiter and Saturn. The heart and soul of the asteroid belt. A queen, if I do say so myself.
Tumblr media
Jupiter (he/him). The big brother. Everyone admires him and looks up to him for advice. He is flamboyant and charismatic, if not a bit self-centred, but ultimately, his heart is big enough to contain love for himself and everyone in the solar system. As you can see with Metis (she/her), he carries smaller moons in his fur.
Tumblr media
Saturn (they/them). Look at that swag. oops! it's dead children. probably. Going off the theory that Saturn's rings were formed from a moon that broke apart under Saturn's gravity, this is the lore. They had lots of moons that they loved dearly, but eventually found them ill. "What's wrong?" "we are being torn apart." They were crushing their moons under the force of their smothering love and it broke them apart. As the debris coalesced into chains around them, Saturn vowed that this would never happen again. They distance themselves from their moons, much to their annoyance, and keep their rings as a reminder of what happens when they get too close to people.

The band The Tyets usually makes trap or urban music, but in this song they have teamed up with Los Manolos to make a rumba catalana. Give it a listen and it will cheer you up!
Here’s the original lyrics in Catalan and translation to English, so you can sing alone and know what it means.
As a note, “Bar Manolo” is the most stereotypical name for a pub, one that isn’t conceited and that you can find in most cities and towns.
Arriba en Manel i ens obra el bar, (hola, compare!) diu que la nit se li ha fet llarga, que arriba tard però tancarà, tant tard com li doni la gana, que avui és divendres Sant...
Manel comes and opens the pub, (hello, mate!) he says the night caught him for longer than expected, that he’s late but he’ll close as late as he feels like, for today is Holy Friday...
I alegria que és festa cada dia que al Bar Manolo hi ha cervesa per tothom alegria i respira la frescor de cada dia el Bar Manolo “looks like” festa major. (x2)
Happiness, for every day is a party in the Pub Manolo there’s beer for everyone. Happiness and breathe in every day’s freshness The Pub Manolo looks like “festa major” [local festivity].
I déu els cria, i s’han ajuntat (ei, Ramon! ei, compare!) no sé ni com ens hem trobat i déu els cria i s’han ajuntat passegem pikete blindat, la gent ens mira
And god raises them, and they came together [idiom that means that similar people find each other] (hey, Ramon! hey, buddy) I don’t even know how we found each other and god raises them, and they came together we take a walk with our bulletproof swag, people look at us
I estic content, que avui he reunit als nens i estic content la vida passa i no la sents la vida baixa i va corrents lleva’t d’hora i renta’t les dents que quan hi ets tu somriu tothom i em fas content (alça!)
And I’m happy, 'cause today I’ve brought “the kids” together [his friends] and I’m happy life passes by and you don’t hear it life comes down and runs wake up early and brush your teeth for when you’re here everyone smiles and you make me happy (come on!)
Alegria que és festa cada dia que al bar manolo hi ha cervesa per tothom alegria i respira la frescor de cada dia el bar manolo looks like festa major (x2)
Happiness, for every day is a party in the Pub Manolo there’s beer for everyone happiness and breathe in everyday’s freshness in the Pub Manolo it looks like “festa major”.
‘Cause when you’re there, everyone smiles come to the party and liven up! [lit., “take the sleepiness out of you”] ‘cause when you’re here, everyone smiles in Pub Manolo, king of love ‘cause... look, I love you, "ay de corazón” (from the bottom of my heart) ‘cause... he’s bringing out his guitar!
‘Cause... dance the rumba until the sun rises ‘cause... come to Mataró! [the city where the band is from] ‘cause... no, no, no, no, I’m the one who claps the hands ‘cause...
Alegria que és festa cada dia que és festa cada dia que és festa per tothom Alegria i respira la frescor de cada dia el bar manolo barra lliure per tothom!
Happiness, that every day is a party that every day is a party it’s a party for everyone Happiness and breathe in every day’s freshness in Pub Manolo, open bar for everyone!

when I say “partners in life” I’m not talking about two humans who are soulmates or have good synergy or whatever I’m talking about the ants and the acacia trees, about the acacia’s thorns, born to be the homes of the ants, about the beltian bodies, created for none other than this colony of insects, about the way it becomes their home, their temple, their holy sanctuary. I’m talking about the frogs and the tarantulas, inextricably linked, with the frogs protecting the tarantulas’ young and the tarantulas returning the favor once they are grown. The ones who are so, so fundamentally different from each other and yet still join hands forever in this endless dance, bound together even beyond the trivial barriers of their mortal lifespan

going to be my most predictable self and ask for sol re: the ask thing. if you dont want to do him then consider this a free pass for whoever you like
soos
– Overall opinion of them
i think even if he would not i would like to be his friend. i would like to meet up with him every few weeks and exchange mild conversation and buy him a meal. he has a lot going on in his life. i dont think i could fix him, but i think hes on the way to recovery himself. thats swag, right?
– Gender/sexuality headcanons
trangenger. sol badguy transgender. and bisexy
– Favorite moment in canon
they were not lying. that world is like a great big firework. how COULD he miss it. sob.
– Favorite moment in a fanwork
evil, maniacal smile. go on, audience. read my friend axls work.
– Favorite line, in canon or otherwise
they were NOT LYING. that world IS like a great big firework. how COULD he MISS IT. SOB.
– Characters I love seeing them interact with
sol is a fucking legend protagonist where i actually like it whenever he gets to talk to (or not talk to because hes sol) literally everyone bc he is the swag lens of which you get to see a lot of the effects of the guilty gear world as a long-built thing through. this also enhances his interactions with axl.
– Last thing before sleeping headcanons
step 1: lay down. step 2:
alternatively i think he would sleep in like. just his undershirt and boxers or something if he had access to a hotel room or smth its just convenient. tho maybe since hes used to just wearing his pants to bed hed like sweatpants or smth.
– Sleeping habits headcanons
you know when your dad will bitch about you not being up early but the second he sits down in the armchair hes an unmoving rock. out like a motherfucker. sol sleeps like that to me but he might snore sometimes.
– First thing after waking up headcanons
start walkin’.
– Favorite locations headcanon
theres smth about him liking serene locations that really gets to me. strive story did him kind of yucky disgusting sometimes im not sure how i feel about him wanting to go to the isolation area when xrd was all yeah he loves his homeboys even if its in a not very social cattish way but i do think if anyone deserves calm its sol badguy. he deserves to be the master of his own environment and control his own isolation. wherever he wants to do that is up to him.

Moonfall will never happen: A Science Forum.
(SPOILERS AHEAD!)
So my mother and father are watching Moonfall (2022). It’s a MEH movie ngl- but if this were to happen; it would be completely BOGUS.
So here is why the events in Moonfall will never happen.
The thing that causes the moon to plunge into the earth is the Nanobot Swarm. Let me tell you how it all happened.
Billions of years ago…(before time had a name-)humanity was a technologically advanced race. Living in peace and prosperity under a AI that servers them (keep that in mind). One day, (speculating that it was too advanced for its own good, and gained a concousness) The AI that served the humans went ROUGE, and started a war between it and mankind. The AI killed many people, while the surviving ones made spaceships called Arks to habit the universe. But the swarm destroyed them all, and disintegrated when they reached the Sol System, and created Earth as we know it today.
You probably know what happens next because my HANDS would hurt if I kept writing this; but long story short in 2011 it attacks a space shuttle, and starts drilling inside in to push it away. Yada yada yada in 2021 they successfully make the moon go out of orbit. Yada yada investigation yada yada someone goes in a spacecraft, follow the Nanobot Swarm with it, SWAG MESSIAH it (self destruction it biggest possible) and killing the swarm, spacecraft, and the persons inside it, sacrificing the persons life.
see? now here’s why this will never happen
First of all, the moon is slowly drifting away from us every day, week, month, and year. It is because of the Milankovich cycle.
Second of all, the Swarm could’ve only been made by a intelligent yet dumbwitted scientist. Which we don’t see here now because scientists are intelligent.
And if it WERE to hit the earth. THAT would never happen! Because people think the Moons gravitational pull is the strongest. But have you seen Jupiter or MARS?! The earth’s gravity pull will SPLIT the moon in half because it’s much stronger than moons.
Overall, don’t be mad at me, but this movie is complete sci-fi fiction- anyways this concludes my essay and reason why this will never happen. If I got anything wrong; please tell me in the comments or DM me!

A handshake can quell political unrest and stifle impending war. It can, with a bit of spit, validate a gentleman’s agreement, end a years-long romantic relationship or send a young heart racing. But it all depends on the two parties involved.
Daisy, 21, felt a seismic jolt when Harry Styles, 25, wearing a striped jumper and rings on three of his five fingers, clutched her hand two days after this year’s Met Gala in New York, when she served him gelato at the shop where she worked.
“He decided on a small mint chocolate gelato and I made his and the one for his friend and I said, ‘Can I just say I absolutely loved your Met Gala look’ and he said ‘Thank you very much! What’s your name?’ And I said, ‘Daisy’ AND HE FUCKING EXTENDED HISHAND AND REACHED TO SHAKE MY HAND AND I ACTUALLY FUCKINGSHOOK HIS HAND WHAT THE FUCK,” she wrote on Instagram after The Shakening. “Like I didn’t even say anything to gas him up besides ‘I loved your met gala look’ and his fine ass went and shook my hand! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FUCKING HUMAN BEINGTHAT HE IS GOD BLESS HIM AND I HOPE HW [sic] LIVES FOREVER.”
For Harry Styles, a handshake can be a romantic gesture, conjuring a potent reverence in its recipient, like the time he met Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele. “He was as attractive as James Dean and as persuasive as Greta Garbo. He was like a Luchino Visconti character, like an Apollo: at the same time sexy as a woman, as a kid, as a man,” Michele told me, hastening to add: “Of course, Harry is not aware of this.”
No, Styles has no idea the power he wields. In person, he’s towering, like someone who is not that much taller but whose reputation adds four inches. Styles has a sedative baritone, spoken in a rummy northern English accent, that tumbles out so slowly you forget the name of your first born, a swagger that has been nursed and perfected in mythical places with names like Paisley Park, or Abbey Road, or Graceland. Makes complete sense that he would be up for the role of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biopic. He was primed, nay, born to shake his hips, all but one button on his shirt clinging for dear life around his torso. Then the part was awarded to another actor, Austin Butler.
“[Elvis] was such an icon for me growing up,” Styles tells me. “There was something almost sacred about him, almost like I didn’t want to touch him. Then I ended up getting into [his life] a bit and I wasn’t disappointed,” he adds of his initial research and preparations to play The King. He seems relaxed about losing the part to Butler. “I feel like if I’m not the right person for the thing, then it’s best for both of us that I don’t do it, you know?”
Styles released his self-titled debut solo album in May 2017. The boyband grad was clearly uninterested in hollowing out the charts with more formulaic meme pop. Instead, to the surprise of many, he dug his heels into retro-fetishist West Coast ’70s rock. Some of the One Direction fan-hordes might have been confused, but no matter: Harry Styles sold one million copies.
Despite its commercial and critical success, he didn’t tour the album right away. He wanted to act in the Christopher Nolan film Dunkirk. To his credit, his portrayal of a British soldier cowering in a moored boat on the French beaches as the Nazis advanced wasn’t skewered in the press like the movie debuts of, say, Madonna or Justin Timberlake. Perhaps he was following advice given by Elton John, who had urged him to diversify. “He was brilliant in Dunkirk, which took a lot of people by surprise,” John writes in an email. “I love how he takes chances and risks.” Acting, unlike music, is a release for Styles; it’s the one time he can be not himself.
“Why do I want to act? It’s so different to music for me,” he says, suddenly animated. “They’re almost opposite for me. Music, you try and put so much of yourself into it; acting, you’re trying to totally disappear in whoever you’re being.”
Following the news that he missed out on Presley, his name was floated for the role of Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. However, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Styles on the big screen as that idea, too, has sunk. He won’t be The King or the Prince. “It was discussed,” he acknowledges before swiftly changing the subject. “I want to put music out and focus on that for a while. But everyone involved in it was amazing, so I think it’s going to be great. I’ll enjoy watching it, I’m sure.”
The new album is wrapped and the single is decided upon. “It’s not like his last album,” his friend, rock ‘n’ roll legend Stevie Nicks, told me recently over the phone. “It’s not like anything One Direction ever did. It’s pure Harry, as Harry would say. He’s made a very different record and it’s spectacular.”
Beyond that, Styles is keeping his cards close to his chest as to his next musical move. However, the air is thick with rumours that his main wingman for HS2 is Kid Harpoon, aka Tom Hull, who co-wrote debut album track Sweet Creature. No less an authority than Liam Gallagher told us that both big band escapees were in the same studio – RAK in north-west London – at the same time making their second solo albums. Styles played him a couple of tracks, “and I tell you what, they’re good,” Gallagher enthused. “A bit like that Bon Iver. Is that his name?”
Harry Styles met Nicks at a Fleetwood Mac concert in Los Angeles in April 2015. Something about him felt authentic to the legendary frontwoman: grounded, like she’d known him forever, blessed with a winning moonshot grin. A month later, they met backstage at another Mac gig, this time at the O2 in London. Styles brought a carrot cake for Nicks’ birthday, her name piped in icing on top. By her own admission, Nicks doesn’t even celebrate birthdays, so this was a surprise. “He was personally responsible for me actually having to celebrate my birthday, which was very sweet,” she says.
Styles’ relationship with Nicks is hard to define. Inducting her into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York as a solo artist earlier this year, his speech hymned her as a “magical gypsy godmother who occupies the in-between”. She’s called him her “lovechild” with Mick Fleetwood and the “son I never had”. Both have moved past the preliminary chat acknowledging each other’s unquantifiable talents and smoothly accelerated towards playful cut-and-thrust banter of a witch mom and her naughty child.
They perform together – he sings The Chainand Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around; she sings the one allegedly written about Taylor Swift, Two Ghosts. One of those performances was at the Gucci Cruise afterparty in Rome in May, for “a lot of money”, Nicks tells me, in a “big kind of castle place”. She has become his de facto mentor – one phone call is all it takes to reach the Queen of Rock’n’Roll for advice on sequencing (“She is really good at track listing,” Styles admits) or just to hear each other’s voices… because, well, wouldn’t you?
Following another Fleetwood Mac concert, at London’s Wembley Stadium, in June, Nicks met Styles for a late (Indian) dinner. He then invited her back to his semi-detached Georgian mansion in north London for a listening party at midnight. The album – HS2or whatever it’ll be called – was finished. Nicks, her assistant Karen, her make-up artist and her friends Jess and Mary crammed onto Styles’ living-room couch. They listened to it once through in silence like a “bunch of educated monks or something in this dark room”. Then once again, 15 or 16 tracks, this time each of his guests offering live feedback. It wrapped at 5am, just as the sun was bleeding through the curtains.
Even for a pop star of Styles’ stature, pressing “play” on a deeply personal work for your hero to digest, watching her face react in real time to your new music, must be… what?
“It’s a double-edged thing,” he replies. “You’re always nervous when you are playing people music for the first time. You’ve heard it so much by this point, you forget that people haven’t heard it before. It’s hard to not feel like you’ve done what you’ve set out to do. You are happy with something and then someone who you respect so much and look up to is, like: ‘I really like this.’ It feels like a large stamp [of approval]. It’s a big step towards feeling very comfortable with whatever else happens to it.”
Wading through Styles’ background info is exhausting, since he was spanked by fame in the social media era where every goddam blink of a kohl-rimmed eye has been documented from six angles. (And yes, he does sometimes wear guyliner.)
Deep breath: born in Redditch, Worcestershire, to parents Des and Anne, who divorced when he was seven. Grew up in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire with his sister Gemma, mum and stepdad Robin Twist. Rode horses at a nearby stable for free (“I was a bad rider, but I was a rider”). Stopped riding, “got into different stuff”. Formed a band, White Eskimo, with schoolmates. Aged 16, tried out for the 2010 run of The X Factorwith a stirring but average rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely. Cut from the show and put into a boy band with four others, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, and called One Direction. Became internationally famous, toured the globe. Zayn quit to go solo. Toured some more. Dated but maybe didn’t date Caroline Flack, Rita Ora and Taylor Swift – whom he reportedly dumped in the British Virgin Islands. (This relationship, if nothing else, yielded an iconic, candid shot of Swift looking dejected, being motored back to shore on the back of a boat called the Flying Ray.) One Direction discussed disbanding in 2014, actually dissolved in 2015. They remain friendly, and Styles officially went solo in 2016.
It’s been two years since his eponymous debut and lead single, Sign of the Times, shocked the world and Elton John with its swaggering, soft rock sound. “It came out of left field and I loved it,” John says.
After 89 arena-packed shows across five continents grossed him, the label, whomever, over $61 million, Styles had all but disappeared. He has emerged only intermittently for public-facing events – a Gucci afterparty performance here, a Met Gala co-chairing there. He relocated from Los Angeles back to London, selling his Hollywood Hills house for $6million and shipping his Jaguar E-type across the Atlantic so he could take joyrides on the M25.
“I’m not over LA,” he insists when I ask about the move. “My relationship with LAchanged a lot. What I wanted from LA changed.”
A great escape, he would agree, is sometimes necessary. He was in Tokyo for most of January, having nearly finished his album. “I needed time to get out of that album frame-of-mind of: ‘Is it finished? Where am I at? What’s happening?’ I really needed that time away from everyone. I was kind of just in Tokyo by myself.” His sabbatical mostly involved reading Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, singing Nirvana at karaoke, writing alone in his hotel room, listening to music and eavesdropping on strangers in alien conversation. “It was just a positive time for my head and I think that impacted the album in a big way.”
During this break he watched a lot of films, read a lot of books. Sometimes he texts these recommendations to his pal Michele at Gucci. He told Michele to watch the Ali Macgraw film, Love Story. “We text what friends text about. He is the same [as me] in terms of he lives in his own world and he does his own thing. I love dressing up and he loves dressing up.”
Because he loves dressing up, Michele chose Styles to be the face of three Gucci Tailoring campaigns and of its new genderless fragrance, Mémoire d’une Odeur.
“The moment I met him, I immediately understood there was something strong around him,” Michele tells me. “I realised he was much more than a young singer. He was a young man, dressed in a thoughtful way, with uncombed hair and a beautiful voice. I thought he gathered within himself the feminine and the masculine.”
Fashion, for Styles, is a playground. Something he doesn’t take too seriously. A couple of years ago Harry Lambert, his stylist since 2015, acquired for him a pair of pink metallic Saint Laurent boots that he has never been photographed wearing. They are exceedingly rare – few pairs exist. Styles wears them “to get milk”. They are, in his words, “super-fun”. He’s not sure, but he has, ballpark, 50 pairs of shoes, as well as full closets in at least three postcodes. He settles on an outfit fairly quickly, maybe changes his T-shirt once before heading out, but mostly knows what he likes.
What he may not fully comprehend is that simply by being photographed in a garment he can spur the career of a designer, as he has with Harris Reed, Palomo Spain, Charles Jeffrey, Alled-Martínez and a new favourite, Bode. Styles wore a SS16 Gucci floral suit to the 2015 American Music Awards. When he was asked who made his suit on the red carpet, Gucci began trending worldwide on Twitter.
“It was one of the first times a male wore Alessandro’s runway designs and, at the time, men were not taking too many red carpet risks,” says Lambert. “Who knows if it influenced others, but it was a special moment. Plus, it was fun seeing the fans dress up in suits to come see Harry’s shows.”
Yet traditional gender codes of dress still have the minds of middle America in a chokehold. Men can’t wear women’s clothes, say the online whingers, who have labelled him “tragic”, “a clown” and a Bowie wannabe. Styles doesn’t care. “What’s feminine and what’s masculine, what men are wearing and what women are wearing – it’s like there are no lines any more.”
Elton John agrees: “It worked for Marc Bolan, Bowie and Mick. Harry has the same qualities.”
Then there is the question of Styles’ sexuality, something he has admittedly “never really started to label”, which will plague him until he does. Perhaps it’s part of his allure. He’s brandished a pride flag that read “Make America Gay Again” on stage, and planted a stake somewhere left of centre on sexuality’s rainbow spectrum.
“In the position that he’s in, he can’t really say a lot, but he chose a queer girl band to open for him and I think that speaks volumes,” Josette Maskin of the queer band MUNA told The Face earlier this year.
“I get a lot of…” Styles trails off, wheels turning on how he can discuss sexuality without really answering. “I’m not always super-outspoken. But I think it’s very clear from choices that I make that I feel a certain way about lots of things. I don’t know how to describe it. I guess I’m not…” He pauses again, pivots. “I want everyone to feel welcome at shows and online. They want to be loved and equal, you know? I’m never unsupported, so it feels weird for me to overthink it for someone else.”
Sexuality aside, he must acknowledge that he has sex appeal. “The word ‘sexy’ sounds so strange coming out of my mouth. So I would say that that’s probably why I would not consider myself sexy.”
Harry Styles has emerged fully-formed, an anachronistic rock star, vague in sensibility but destined to impress with a disarming smile and a warm but firm handshake.
I recite to him a quote from Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders about her time atop rock’s throne: “I never got into this for the money or because I wanted to join in the superstar sex around the swimming pools. I did it because the offer of a record contract came along and it seemed like it might be more fun than being a waitress. Now, I’m not so sure.”
Styles – who worked in a bakery in a small northern town some time before playing to 40,000 screaming fans in South American arenas – must have witnessed some shit, been invited to a few poolside sex parties, in his time.
“I’ve seen a couple of things,” he nods in agreement. “But I’m still young. I feel like there’s still stuff to see.”

The Face - Volume 4 . Issue 1
What’s your name?’ And I said, ‘Daisy’ AND HE FUCKING EXTENDED HIS HAND AND REACHEDTO SHAKE MY HAND AND I ACTUALLY FUCKING SHOOK HIS HAND WHAT THEFUCK,” she wrote on Instagram after The Shakening. “Like I didn’t even say anything to gas him up besides ‘I loved your met gala look’ and his fine ass went and shook my hand! WHATA BEAUTIFUL FUCKING HUMAN BEING THAT HE IS GOD BLESS HIM AND I HOPE HW[sic] LIVES FOREVER.”
They perform together – he sings The Chain and Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around; she sings the one allegedly written about Taylor Swift, Two Ghosts.
Saw this lil trend, which usually I hate lol, but since it’s about music - I’m here for it sis. Literally just go to google and type in “Bill Clinton swag generator” and you can pick your top 4 fave albums :) I broke the rules tho clearly. But here are minezzz <3
So the all-time-faves, I posted first:
Channel Orange - Frank Ocean (actually obsessed with him, he’s in my Top 3 of LIFE!)
Graduation - Kanye West
Man on the Moon - Kid Cudi (his first album<3 I’m biased though because this is my number one guy forever and ever, amen)
Days Before Rodeo - Travis Scott (one of his earlier ones, hes a rapper out of Houston, I went to high school with him soooo I like ride his dick hard haha but hes super well versed and was signed with Kanyes label and works with a wide array of people sooo gotta lot of love for my dude)
Alt/Rock Faves: (This was hard)
Currents - Tame Impala (all time fave artists/group, think they’d make my Top 5)
Sound and Color - Alabama Shakes (they aren’t together anymore :( but the lead singer Brittney Howard went off on her own and she’s amaaazing)
Stadium Arcadium - Red Hot Chili Peppers FOR LIFEEEE
Brothers - The Black Keys (I love anything Dan Auerbach, the lead singer; he also had a side band called The Arcs that I was obsessed with - listen to their song “Put a Flower in Your Pocket”
Electro/Chill Albums that caught my attention:
GENERATIONWHY - Zhu (FUCKING LOVE THIS GUY, sooo glad I saw him at Middlelands )
Urban Flora - Alina Baraz (I used to listen to her on repeat, voice is angelic and I’ve seen her live and its just…wow)
Bloom - RUFUS DU SOL (super awesome group)
In Return - ODESZA (*does chefs kiss into the air*)
H TOWN SHIT:
Astroworld - Travis Scott (his last album from 2018, literally features Tame Impala, The Weekend, Frank Ocean, sooo many more - and he paid a lot of homage to H town in this and sampled alot of OGs lol, but super diverse sound, some chill/slower songs and some hype upbeat shit - def one of my faves)
Con Todo El Mundo - Khruangbin (THESE PEOPLE!! Ok honestly, if I had to pick one album for you to listen to, it’d be this one or their last one - they’re a trio out of H town and they just collabed with Leon Bridges and ahhh they’re just this funky, chill lil psychedelic band thats great for literally any time of day)
Lemonade - Beyonce (I’m just gonna drop the mic and walk away to these one, nothing needs to be said, pure perfection)
UGK - UGK (underground Kingz) basically I wouldn’t be allowed to rep Houston if I didn’t put them on there lol this reminds me of just ridin around town with my homies
R&B/Slower, Soulful Albums: (You will, and should, cry to these lol)
Blond - Frank Ocean (I honestly have no idea which album of his I like more, they’re both fire, hence why they both made it)
November - SiR (he’s signed to TDE, Kendrick Lamars label, and basically I love everyone out of there, but this guys on some other shit - a lot of people prefer his newer album, Chasing Summer, but this is my all time fave)
CASE STUDY 01 - Daniel Ceasar (honestly yet again, hard to pick a top album, as I like them all, but definitely his latest project takes the cake in my book - listen to Cyanide)
Trilogy - The Weeknd - ok, to be fair, all of his albums SLAP. Like, haarddd - so this was tough- but I think I played the fuck out of this the most.
Homage to the Oldies:
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Ms. Lauryn Hill - this babe is an OG in the game, from the Fugees obviously…but this is a timeless piece. If you have Spotify, look up the podcast called ‘Dissect’ - its a series that dives into albums and dissects them or breaks them down song by song, and they did hers among others….so awesome)
Aquemini - Outkast - literally hard to choose a fav album by them, but this one I have jammed the most - sooo many artists have sampled this album too lol so just love it top to bottom.
Axis: Bold as Love - Jimi Hendrix - used to jaaaaam this with my parents, timeless.
Exodus - Bob Marley (BOW DOWN TO ONE OF MY TOP 3 FAVE OF ALL TIMEEEEE)

If we do Celebration again, regardless of how close it is, multi-day pass & hotel will be the way to go.
Husband unit was up at 3am, sick, thanks to what we now think was a bad reaction to some mango-chili cashews. But bless him, he pulled himself together as best he could and we made our car & 2-train journey with a backpack full of water and various OTC remedies.  We encountered a surprising number of fellow Celebration-goers on both trains!
Got to the Ep IX panel with plenty of time to spare, lost our shit along with everyone else in the arena. (I do have more pics to share!) Met up with an old high school friend who got a 5-day pass; he'd already gotten autographs from Timothy Zahn and a picture with Ian McDiarmid! We did a big lap around the exhibit hall to see what was around. Friend had to leave for a Claudia Gray thing so husband & I took a closer look at some of the booths. Swung by the SWTOR booth to get swag and enter to win free stuff, and got a picture with the datacron!
There was so much cool stuff: the samurai-inspired figures, giant Lego Stormtrooper helmet made of minifigs, vegetable carving, the 501st costume display, vintage toys, so many tshirts, life size ships, diorama/model making, Lego build-along (which i was totally down for but we didn't have a kid with us as an excuse to join), every possible type of merch you can think of and then some.
So much awesome cosplay. My favorites: Arcann & Thexan & Vaylin, Force Ghost Luke, Darth Talon, multiple Heras, the one male Twi'lek I saw all day, honestly all of the Twi'leks looked great, multiple Darth Mauls, multiple Revans, Captain Phasma, Jyn Erso, a few Chiss, the Mirialan Jedi with lights in the hood, anyone doing random Jedi or Sith, Barf, and the couple in Starfleet uniforms.
And an unexpected delight: tons and tons of random Star Wars shirts/gear people were wearing!  I literally did not see the same shirt twice.  (For the record: I wore a Top Gun-style “Rebel” shirt under a SWCC hoodie and husband unit went with a Quark’s Bar hoodie over a Superman shirt, ‘cause he’s that kind of guy.) Between random shirts and cosplay I could have easily spent the day just people-watching.
Even though he was trying his best to power through, husband unit had to call it a day around 3:30. We'd had reservations for the Publishing Panel, which I was bummed to miss, but I'm still proud of him for making it. I'd definitely do it again!
Of course, not everything is perfect, and I do have a few gripes:
The clusterfuck that was the Celebration Store.  People spending 6+ hours in line, multiple issues at checkout, registers crashing, payment issues, etc.  The store portion of the mobile app crashed on Thursday and never recovered, so anyone who’d banked on the “buy now & pick up later” option was SOL.  There were a couple of kiosks with limited selection in the exhibit hall, and reportedly the store line was way shorter during big panels, but overall: what a fucking mess.  I’d ordered my SWCC hoodie the day I bought our badges and that’s probably going to be all I get.
The wind.  WHAT THE CHRIST.  I understand that the weather is uncontrollable and it was literally snowing a few days ago, but holy hell.  I rocked the “windblown weirdo” look for most of the day.
I have picked up a moderate case of Con Crud.  Not unexpected, since my immune system is garbage and I pick up everything, but it’s enough to make playing SWTOR too taxing.  :-(
Overall, a pretty good experience.  What I love most about these kinds of events is just Being There with thousands of other people who love the same thing I do; we all have our own favorite flavors of movies/books/lore/etc, but we’re all excited about Star Wars.
The best example of this was at the Ep IX panel.  Kelly Marie Tran, this super-sweet woman, had been so hyped up to be part of the Star Wars universe before TLJ was released, but the pond scum of the Internet harassed her to the point that she quit social media.  And then at the panel, Stephen Colbert introduced her, and she got the biggest cheers of anybody.  💕

DISPATCH, (05/03/17): Mirage Media has officially released information about main vocalist, Yoo Hansol, on mystery6′s official website! Han Sol is a ‘91 liner and has been beloved by fans since his debut in 2012. Find out more about Han Sol below!
I, Yoo Hansol, have read and understand the terms and conditions as my position of Main Vocalist and agree to honor the standards that are to be expected of me as an employee of Mirage.
OOC INFORMATION
Preferred name: Sam / Samuel / Sammy
Pronouns: He / Him / His
Timezone: -5:00 EST
Other muses: n/a
IC INFORMATION
Faceclaim: Byun Baekhyun of EXO
Name:  YooHan Sol
Stage name (if applicable): none?
Idol concept: Their concept is ‘Myth’, –withdrawn and quiet during initial stage interviews despite striking appearance and strong, clear vocals. Despite his soft speaking nature, it has been assumed that he is rude or dislikes his fans because of his short, often blunt responses and 'insincere smiles’. It could be argued that it was a clear juxtaposition against his bold even occasional playful on-stage presence and breath-taking performance. Other more dedicated fans argue that he is kind, despite having a justifiable temper and is one of the groups more sweeter members after admitting that he suffered from stage fright when he wasn’t focused on singing. Han Sol had intentions of becoming an actor, however because of the soft and richness of his voice, he had trained in dance and vocal and started as the group’s more weaker dancers. His on stage performance is often paired with very strong, emotional facial expression. Whether it is his confidence in his work or stage-ethics, Han Sol is a hard worker notorious for his 'hot/cold’ or 'stoic’ personality. Han Sol is unsure if he fits the 'unreal’ or 'un-natural phenomenon’ that comes with their storytelling concept. In reality he has a rather sadistic nature with a temper that can be both cruel and unforgiving albeit childish. He doesn’t trust many people easily and does not get along with other group members or significant figures as well as others would during a first meeting. He prefers to practice alone rather than with others, flourishing in solace and open 'free’ spaces. However would not do well as a soloist because of the softness of his voice alone and unsupported. Many of his fans do not know the sheer amount of time he spends practicing to strengthen his weaknesses, often pushing his limits with too many sleepless nights. In the end he respects hard work over just pure 'fragile’ talent.
Birth date and age: 11/06/1991  , 25
Company name: Mirage
Group Name (if applicable): Mystery6
Group Position (if applicable): Main Vocalist
Strengths:  Han Sol came for acting, - having often admired the amiable, rich voices of those who command the stage during an opera. He wanted to improve the range and clarity of his voice just to match those he had once collected portraits of in the back of his school binder. His voice has been known to reach the halls and stairwells of the different Mirage practice studios, and is rumored to force a lingering sweetness on the tongue of those who happen to hear. With his love for opera and theater, he has a good ear for composing, using primarily piano and computer program to write the various songs and melodies that fill him after long nights spent practicing his dance.
Weaknesses: Entirely unprepared to learn dance as a trainee, he found that he could not easily remember difficult choreography and would forget if he did not spend enough time practicing. In the beginning he would research many idiosyncrasies in order to try and improve the fluidity of what did not come as naturally to him. With that, he is unable to keep the clarity of his voice and match it with speed or what many would call a 'swag’-type atmosphere, making him ridiculously bad a rapping. With his yearning to better himself, and the selfishness that comes with the overzealous attitude on his craft, he is often susceptible to injury or sickness for overdoing it.
Positive traits: confident. determined. honest
Negative traits: impulsive. aggressive. impatient.
PERSONAL HISTORY
She brushes her palm across his cheek, the band around her finger is a painful glide along his skin, still a vibrant angry red. “You’re going to be okay,” her voice is soft and reassuring but when Han Sol looks up he doesn’t see her eyes, just the faint glow of a cracked blue eating his vision. When he thinks of his mother, he remembers snarling black devouring her pallid face. She doesn’t smile.
When Yoon Han Sol thinks about his childhood, he remembers the broken pieces, and what’s made of destruction is what is left. There are only a few happy moments— blurs of time beneath his eyelids or streaked down his cheeks when he chews the ash of a cigarette because he’s a pussy. He is told he has to become nothing—feel what nothing feels like in order to become something.
His father — is all flaring temper, meticulous planning and slightly dim in the head when it comes to drowning, not in alcohol (  If they could afford it, it was there but never in front of his son since real men don’t drown their crying in alcohol, they drown it with hate and war,) just the misfortune that makes up his long miserable shit-stained life. ( and those are his words, his drawn out soliloquies. don’t be a shit stain, don’t be a bitch.) His father was a war mongrel, post traumatic stress disorder sewn into his brain but it’s the loneliness, the contempt that melts his rational thought processes and forces military ideals down his son’s throat. His father couldn’t accept a stain like Han Sol that had wanted to become someone idolized not for the cruelty of war, but for a voice; a face, that could only remind him of the woman he beat for loving him.
Han Sol would have never thought that he would become the mirror image of his father in the end– an acid spitting fire compared; The outlash, the rebellion; the inner turmoil and wreckage his flaring temper brings with it. And when Han Sol loves, he touches the bruised broken body of his craft with a tenderness only made for him. He would become Zero, if zero meant that could become something. Zero was a force, a massacre, everything and nothing at the same time. Zero, it consumes everything in its path.
