na pd : when we looked at the comments of the videos with you before, CARATs were saying you were so friendly with every group there because you were already friends with them. is that true?

jinny : partly, yes! i've either worked with them all on choreo or songs or i knew them from being an MC. but, i am just naturally friendly.. i think i would've felt a little awkward if i just sat there like my members.

dino : i can back that up! jinny was the one who asked to be friends when we first met..

dokyeom : i remember when we began training as a group, jinny would go out of her way to talk to everyone

jinny : she got flustered :( i wanted to get to know the people i would be stuck in a group with.. you guys are much different now though..

changbin: pls it would turn him on sooo much. it’s like a switch for him. even if he was in charge before you said it, he certainly wouldn’t be after.

hyunjin: complains complains complains. he is ‘jinnie’, ‘hyune’, or ‘baby’ to you. there are no other options.

jisung: you can call him whatever you want to in bed. it would take him by surprise but he’d go with it. very much has the mindset of “i guess this is what we’re doing now”

felix: man would be so shocked he’d almost go soft. he’d get all hushed and ask you some shit like “are we role playing right now??” thinking he missed the memo ;-;

seungmin: he’s used to it because of lino but he would probably make a joke about how you’ve been spending too much time with him and not your own boyfriend

Reunion

Summery: In which Sage reunites with a close friend.

Warnings: none (messy writing??)

Characters: Sage (svt oc), Seventeen members, Seventeen oc's, introducing Jongin (original character)

Note: This turned out shorter then I thought. Anyways, here's a chapter introducing Yejin's best friend. I hope you like him and as always comments and feedback are really appreciated. Enjoy.

The cheers of Carats can still be heard as the members of Seventeen come off the stage. With the ending of the last show is Seoul they finally kicked of their Be The Sun world tour. The members buzzed with excitement as they made their way towards the green room. The staff cheered as they entered, congratulating them on a successful show. The members thanked them for their hard work before gathering together to say a few words for Inside Seventeen. After the staff cut the camaras the members finally relaxed, laying around the green room.

Sitting on the sofa, Sage lay her head back with her eyes closed, enjoying the fresh feeling of excitement after the show. Flopping down next to her, Dokyeom let out a sigh. "Too bad it's over. I think I have enough energy to do another concert right now."

"Speak for yourself!" came Zora's voice from a few feet away. "I thought I was gonna faint after the fifth round of Aju Nice." Surrounding members laughed at the girls statement, some agreeing with her.

A staff member approached them, clearing her throat to get their attention. "Yejin, your mothers on her way." Upon hearing the news Sage sat up quickly. She had almost forgot that her Mum was there to see the show.

"Oh thank you." she said to the staff.

"Did you forget?" Inquired Mingyu from his seat on the sofa opposite hers. Sage gave him an offended look.

"Of course not."

"Yah Yejin, how could you forget your own mother." Sunnie teased her causing Sage to get up from her seat and lunge forward to playfully slap her leg.

"Your lucky I love you." She shook her head at her, the members laughing at the banter between the two.

"Yejin!" At the sound of her mothers voice, Sage's face lit up, turning towards her with a smile. However her smile faded and she froze when her eyes landed on the figure standing beside her. Her hand flew to her mouth in shock as her eyes immediately began to fill with tears when she realized who it was. She almost didn't recognize him if it wasn't for the familiar glint in his eyes and the cheerful smile on his face. A face she hadn't seen in years.

"Hey Jinnie." the man spoke softly, giving her a reassuring smile.

At the sound of the name he used to call her Sage couldn't hold herself back any longer. As fast as her legs could carry her, she rushed to him, throwing her arms around his neck as tears fell down her cheeks. "Is it really you? Am I dreaming?" her voice only coming out a whisper.

The man let out a small laugh, his arms securely around her waist. "It's me Yejin. I promise you're not dreaming."

Letting go of the hug Sage looked towards her mother, who was smiling from ear to ear. "Why didn't you tell me you were bringing him?" she whined to her, whipping the tears from her face. "I wasn't ready for this."

"Sorry, we wanted to surprise you." Her mother laughed, pleased with her daughters reaction. "I think it worked."

"You're both so mean."

"Now now, stop that." The man took her hands away from her face, whipping away the remaining tears. "Introduce me to your members."

She turned towards the members, who had been watching the whole interaction with interest, wondering who the mystery man was. Linking her arm with his she brought him towards them.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet Shin Jongin. My friend from Daegu."

The man, Jongin, bowed politely in greeting to the members of Seventeen. "It's nice to meet you."

The members greet him back in a chorus of "hello's" and "Nice to meet you too."

Jongin turned to Sage, giving her a sweet smile.

"Yejin, I was hoping you could join me for dinner tonight?" His words coming out as a question as he looked at her hopefully.

"I'd love too." she said, a wide smile spreading across her face. "We can go as soon as I'm ready."

The moment she left the green room she sprinted down the hallways towards the dressing rooms, excitement and nervousness filling her chest. It had been almost ten years since the last time she'd seen her best friend, the last time being before she started training and moved to Seoul. The two of them had once been inseparable, since the day they met in ballet class when they were only four years old. He had been the only boy in the class and was shy around the other students. Young Yejin didn't like seeing him being left out so she tried to befriend him. It wasn't hard as little Jongin was overjoyed that someone wanted to be his friend. They grew up together, going to the same elementary school, middle school, ballet class and even lived in the same neighborhood. They were always together, until Yejin decided she wanted to be a singer and left to follow her dream. Over the years they lost contact. Last she heard Jongin was studying in London at the Royal Ballet School.

Having finished getting changed, she made sure she had all her things before making her way back towards the green room. When arriving she looked around only to find Jongin was no where to be seen. Seeing her mother talking to some staff she approached her. "Omma, where did Jongin go?"

"He just went out to bring his car around the back." she explained. "He said it would be safer for you then going all the way to the main car park with all the fans still hanging around."

"Oh," She nodded in understanding. "That's sweet of him."

"So that's your childhood friend Jongin?" Sunnie nudged her, giving her a cheeky look. "He's cute." Her comment earned her a slap on the arm from Seungkwan, who told her not to say such things.

"Don't mind her." Seungkwan said. "I hope you have a good time."

"Thank you Kwannie." Sage smiled at Seungkwan.

"Ready to go Yejin?" Jongin's voice came from the doorway. She turned to him with a smile and nodded. Saying goodbye to the members and her mother, they made their way out the building together. Jongin had parked outside another entrance away from the fans and press waiting outside for the members to come out. Making it safely to the car they got in and buckled up.

"So where are we going?" Sage asked him, curious as to what Jongin had planed for the night.

"I hoped you would agree to eat dinner with me, so I already booked us a privet table at a restaurant."

"What if I refused?" she questioned him, narrowing her eyes at him, a teasing tone in her voice.

"Then I would have had to take your mother." The two of them laughed. It was nice hearing him laugh again. It was deeper then before but familiar. The sound caused a pang in her heart. She missed him. She missed him a lot.

On the way to the restaurant they talked about the concert. Jongin told her how impressed he was with the performances and how proud he was to watch her. "You look like you have so much fun up there." he told her.

"Yeah, I do." she smiled.

Inside the restaurant a waiter lead them to their table, a privet one in a quiet corner of the restaurant. Thanking the waiter they took their seats. "Are you hungry?" Jongin asked her as he opened a menu.

"Very." she replied, eagerly opening the menu to take a look.

"Order as much as you want. It's on me."

Looking up from her menu she gave him a surprised look.

"You don't have to do that." She protested.

"But I want to." He insisted, "Have whatever you want."

Sighing with defeat she went back to the menu to decide on her meal. There really wasn't any point in arguing and it wasn't something she wanted to do after meeting her best friend again. Telling him what she'd like to eat, Jongin waved over the waiter to place their orders. After the waiter left it was quiet for a few seconds, each waiting for the other to start talking first.

"So Jongin," Sage spoke first, "What was it like in London."

And so Jongin filled her in on his time in London. The things he did, the friends he made, what the ballet school was like, showing her pictures he had taken and much more. She listened closely, taking in every word he said. Then it hit her. He's changed. He had always been the shy one between them while she's always been more outgoing. He used to follow her around like a lost puppy and hide behind her when people he didn't know approached them. He was timid and bashful and there always seemed to be a reason to be scared of something. But now he was more confident. More self-assured. More expressive. Watching the way his eyes shone and his smile never seemed to fade, her heart skipped a beat. When did he become so attractive? His face had matured and he's completely lost the baby fat on his cheeks and instead displays a sharp jawline. Not only that but his frame had become much broader and muscular. He wasn't the little boy she knew in Daegu anymore...

He grew up.

And she missed it.

She missed seeing him grow into the man who's currently sitting across from her, talking about his adventures in a far away contrary. The Jongin she knew years ago would never think twice about leaving his family to go live and study in another country. It must have been a hard decision to make, one that she should have been there to support him through.

"Yejin?"

She didn't realize she had zoned out, lost in her thoughts until Jongin called her name.

"Our foods here."

"Oh, I'm sorry." she shook her head, bringing herself back to reality.

"It's okay." he chuckled, reassuring her. "You had a big day. You must be tired."

"No I..." she trailed off, not sure if it was too soon to say the next words. "I'm sorry we drifted apart."

The smile that had been stuck to Jongin's face all night suddenly faltered. "It's not your fault Jinnie, these things happen." A more serious tone in his voice now.

"But I feel terrible." she confessed. "I wasn't there to support you."

"You were."

His words confused her. What did he mean by that. Jongin only smiled seeing that she was baffled.

"I'm not the scared kid I used to be." he said, reaching to place his hand gently on hers. "A part of that, is thanks to you."

"What do you mean?" She asked quietly, as if she didn't want anyone else to hear her question.

"I watched you Yejin. I watched you take a chance and chase your dreams." He squeezed her hand softly. "I wanted to be like you."

Seeing that she wasn't going to say anything he continued. "Going to London, studying ballet, I did these things because you gave me the courage to. Seeing you debut, seeing you perform, you have so much confidents you shine. Your light encouraged me to try harder, to push myself to make my dreams come true too. You might not have been with me physically but I always had you with me. You inspire me Yejin."

She didn't know what to say. She had no idea that her debuting with Seventeen would motivate Jongin so much. While she lived her dreams he watched her from afar, supporting her, cheering her on while he sought to make his own dreams come true. It seems that even after all these years they were still connected to each other, even if she didn't know it until now. Their lives might have taken them in different directions but it had never taken them apart completely. A piece of her was always with Jongin and a piece of him was always with Yejin. She didn't notice the tears slipping down her face until Jongin reached forward with a napkin to wipe them away.

"Some things don't change," he chuckled lightly, trying to lighten the mood. "You're still a cry baby."

Sage laughed through her tears at his statement. "You're right." she sniffed, whipping away the tears. "I just... I miss you so much Jongin."

"I miss you too Jinnie."

Dinner continued with light chatter and laughter as they recalled childhood memories. Afterwards they left the restaurant arm in arm, smiles never leaving their faces. The drive to her apartment complex was quiet but comfortable as they enjoyed each other presence a little longer. They had made sure to exchange phone numbers, promising to keep in contact and that they would meet again as soon as Seventeen's tour is over. Pulling up outside the apartment building, Sage let out a small sigh. She didn't want to go home yet, she wanted to stay with him longer. It seemed Jongin read her mind as he reached over to unbuckle her seatbelt himself.

"You should go," he laughed at the little pout she sent him. "I don't want your members to think I kidnapped you."

Giggling at his words she turned her body to him in the passenger seat. "Jongin, thank you for tonight. I'm really happy to see you again."

"Me too." He showed her a genuine smile.

"I want you to know how proud of you I am." Sage continued, looking him in the eyes. "And that from now on I'll be there. I want you in my life again Jongin."

At her words she was pulled into a tight embrace. With her arms tightly around his waist and her chin resting on his shoulder. Jongin placed his hand on the back of her head, gently brushing his fingers through her hair. He sighed, content with finally holding her the way he'd been wanting to all night. "I too..." he whispered to her. "Want you in my life."

Neither one of them wanted to let go but they knew this moment couldn't last forever, no matter how much they secretly wanted it to. Separating slowly, they looked at each other and exchanged smiles.

"Good night Yejin"

"Good night Jongin"

And so they parted ways, this time knowing it wouldn't be the last and they would see each other very soon. Sage was filled with happiness after rekindling her friendship with Jongin after so long,

or could it possibly be more then that. Only time will tell.

jinny's fathers!!!! she's the only girl so obviously jinny's gonna get a lot of hate for it / how close she is with the members and these three are always there for her :( constant reassurance that she's not a burden to them and that it's okay to cry when she needs to. when jinny went on 'no prepare' w/ youngji she got drunk and cried over how much these three care about her SEUNGCHEOL ~ JICHEOL: since he's the oldest, he cares a lot about all 13 of his members. he does, however, check up on jinny often and make sure she's taking care of herself and not closing herself off from the group whenever she's dealing with scandals or hate. these two are just super soft UGH. on inside seventeen eps or on tour stops jinny will just randomly go up to cheol and lay her head on his shoulder or lap "just cause she wants to." they call a lot because she gets super worried esp around comeback szn and he's one of the only members she feels comfortable expressing her worries with & crying in front of. when they aren't being all sappy n shit tho, jinny's constantly trying to annoy him at the most random times. or she's teasing him over the way he moved his hands or said something LOL (and vice versa.. he'll walk past her and mock her english as pay back) fansites love these two trust me!!

JEONGHAN ~ JINHAN: speaking of hate, jeonghan is always the first member jinny goes to whenever she's getting negative comments or opinions from netizens. she puts a lot of trust in jeonghan and is always asking for advice from him. but moving on.... jinny HATES (she doesn't) playing games with jeonghan bcz he's either a smartass or he'll cheat his way to victory. in that one jeonghan vs. svt episode, she literally walked up to the seating area, said "i'm gonna write -1,000,000." and tried leaving (the staff wouldnt let her LMAO). jinny always the first to notice when he's trying to mess with the members she'll be like "yah! stop being a liar, you're like pinnochio." and it makes everyone laugh JOSHUA ~ JIJO: they bonded over their confusion as foreigners (+ vernonnie) OMG. whenever the members would laugh at a joke she didn't understand jinny would immediately turn to shua with confused eyes. anywayss, jinny values her relationship with joshua a lot!! being in seventeen meant staying in korea for large periods of time, away from her brother. joshua is like her older brother figure when she isn't in australia. but he also loves to annoy her at random times?? like on stage for example he'll come over to her and mess with her outfit or whatever's in her hands OR he'll keep switching between korean & english when talking and it frustrates her sm LOL. also loves to mock her english..

JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO & WOOZI jinny is always fighting with them LMAO... there's no gose ep where they aren't arguing at least once (cough mousebusters cough). kir looks up to them a lot though! these four are always cheering for her in shoots, even when she appears in ads or on billboards!!! it's like they argue and then 5 mins later it's "go jinny" JUN ~ JIHUI: he loves to hype jinny up for no reason honestly. like she'll be showcasing a dance or talent for a variety show and all you'll hear is "WOAHHHH JINAA WOWWWWWW" from him LOL. jinny likes to mock him with his "nothing is spicy for me" stuff but then he pulls out a pepper or hot sauce out of nowhere? and she'll run screaming "moon junhui i'm sorry for everything i've never done to you!!!" pls. but also she loves whenever he goes on rants about things he wants to try in china with the members while they're talking backstage or smt because she!! wants!! to!! go!! too!! he bakes or buys her a lot of chinese treats and it makes her melt :( when hes asked to do aegyo or cute poses jinny cackles.. it's just so funny and cute at the same time HOSHI ~ SOONJIN: for seungcheol's sake, don't let these two partner with each other in games or stand anywhere near each other in relay dances. chaotic duo omg. if they aren't fighting, they're laughing at each other. and if they aren't laughing at each other, they're probably chasing each other or doing god knows what. their gose cameramen get weekly workouts at this point with their constant movement. ESPECIALLY IN DON'T LIE. when soonyoung does his silly little "watching the members' reactions" thing he immediately points at her and screams that it's jinny because there was a GHOST of a smirk on her face. or when they're playing random games she'll say he was too slow by a millisecond just to try and stop him from winning. WONWOO ~ JINWON: wonu found jinny crying once and ever since then they've gotten like super close. they'll be filming and then the camera goes to woolyn and jinny's just casually piggybacking on him. they don't argue as much as the other three but when they do it's HILARIOUS. "you stole my crackers, didn't you?" + "sorry.. i'm a foreigner what's a cracker? (except it's her imitating his pronunciation)" when jinny's solo was announced he was one of the more excited members. omg they also love to quote / imitate each other too. "tasty." (insomnia zero !!!!) and then theres wonu mocking jinny's silly photoshoot poses. but jinny gets so excited when she sees wonu after some time away cause he's like this gigantic teddy bear in her eyes.. there are so many compilations of jinny hugging wonu or hanging onto him at the most random times. WOOZI ~ 2JI: cue jinny dragging jihoon out of the studio at 1-2 am because he locked himself in there with his factory supply of diet coke. jinny is a producer and loves to make music and jihoon's always the one she goes to whenever she needs an opinion on a lyric or part of a song. they've had a lot of dumb moments together on trips like TTT and in the studio and both of them use it against each other. "hey jinny, do you remember when-" "NO. I DON'T REMEMBER." in every other game svt plays LMAO. on the rareeeee occasion jihoon gets tipsy he'll get super emotional with jinny and it's so funny to the rest of the members for some reason. in conclusion, jinny's like jihoon's reminder to stop working and jihoon is jinny's reminder of every stupid thing she's ever done.

DK, MINGYU, & THE8 jinny's brothers part one. they're besties!! 97z are always making her laugh or teasing her. these are some of the members she's known since she was a little girl so they're especially close :( drunk jinny is also extremely clingy and emotional and they always have to deal with it but whenever one of them brings it up, like in insomnia zero for example, she gets flustered and denies it so fast DK ~ SENNY: svt mood makers,,, they're always making jokes or laughing at something or each other (or making fun of seungkwan..). they both get so happy whenever they see each other ITS SO CUTE like there's this one gose ep where jinny came back after being in australia for some time and seokmin ran and hugged her so fast. ALSO BEST VOCAL DUO I SAY! jinny released a song with him as a feature and it blew up so fast bcz of how extremely good they sounded. jinny also loves to play as seokmin's supportive facebook mom LMAO. on her insta she has so many cringy pics of him doing LITERALLY ANYTHING n captions as "The Best ____" and a bunch of emojis. MINGYU ~ JIGYU: they've known each other since around the time jinny became a trainee and they have such a sweet sibling bond. gyu's so quick to judge whenever someone says something negative about jinny (when they aren't joking about it.. bc if they were joking he'd join in.) it's rlly funny to carats. they cook together a lot and whenever they're filming + cooking mingyu would just keep making fun of how short she is compared to him or some random joke he came up with on the spot. but anyways their food is so good,, everyone gets super excited whenever they cook tgt. also one of jinny's irl teddy bears!! when they see each other it's like those online friends irl meet-up videos the members have so many pics / vids of them dramatically hugging LOL THE8 ~ JIHAO: PLEASE minghao is always either chilling and living peacefully with jinny or teasing her abt her every move. in that one rice planting gose ep they were both sitting together loving every moment of the planting UNTIL HE GOT TO GET FOOD and started to tease her about how the food is sooooooo delicious and she should come and get a bite. but ANYWAYS. jinny loves to hype minghao up in whatever he does!!! once she went on weverse and started boasting about how good minghao is at art cuz they were painting tgt for a vlog. minghao helps calm jinny down most of the time too!! precious besties :[

SEUNGKWAN, VERNON, & DINO jinny's brothers part two. these three are her ride or dies istg!!! similar to 96z, jinny is always fighting with them... but they're also like partners in crime? dino vernon & jinny are like three kids trying to drag a tired mother (seungkwan) into helping them with whatever crazy over the top prank plan they concocted LMAO SEUNGKWAN ~ JIKWAN: never leave these two with a task alone. they will argue over the way the other is BREATHING. it became their thing to just nitpick each other whenever they could and it makes both of them laugh so hard when someone tells them to stop fighting. he said in a show once "i think we're good at teamwork!" and jinny gave him THE MOST judgeful look ever it became a whole meme and they spent like 10 minutes arguing over it... poor host. she showed up at the bss m/v recording and kept laughing at him, which caused them to argue ONCE AGAIN LOL. but omg.. best vocal duo ever pt.2???? them singing or hitting a high note together is what greets you at the gates of heaven it's HOLY. Hyunjin work up that morning alone and a bit confused. Typically on a day like today he was woken up with breakfast. But not this time. He dressed and slowly padded down the hall to the kitchen. The smell of bacon and something sweet filled the house.

"Is this where everyone is?" Hyunjin asked the nearly vacant room. Changkyun looked up from his plate and nodded a greeting. "Guess not," he mumbled.

"No. Just curious is all," disappointment laced his voice. It was his birthday after all. Maybe with the mo e everyone forgot. Most everyone had someone special in their life and he wasn't mad but it hurt that Minji wasn't around. His Minzy forgot his birthday. She never forgot but with this new guy that's got her head in the clouds he wasn't surprised.

Grabbing his phone the dialed his new punk princess's number. Before it rang he hung up quickly. Last thing he wanted was to sound pathetic. So he spent the rest od the day moping around the empty house.

Sometime early afternoon he gave up and laid on his bed. Maybe just sleeping off the rest of the day was an option. Not like he had any plans anyways.

"Guys, be quiet," Minji scolded everyone. "If he hears you then he will come find out what the noise it!" She placed an armful of bags on the kitchen island and sighed.

"TY, I need you to get the boys and decorate, ok. Can you do that?" Waving over her shoulder she struggled to get Lisa's attention. "Hey. Hey. Bring the cake in but be careful. Don't drop it." Scanning the room her eyes landed on Mina. "Honey! Did you text that sweet girl? I know she'd want to be here." Mina responded with a nod but never looked up from her phone. "I.M. did he have any clue?" Changkyun laughed.

"Hyunjin? Have a clue? Not a chance," he shook his head. "Poor kid hasn't left his room because he thinks you forgot."

Minji was happy her plan was working but still a bit heartbroken to think Hyunjin feels forgotten. She was more determined to make this perfect. Mom Minji took over and made sure everyone was busy. Knowing Hyunjin, his nap would be over soon.

Rolling over, Hyunjin rubbed his eyes and looked at the clock. 'Guess sleeping all day didn't work' he thought to himself. He swung his door open, only to be greeted by balloons with arrows on them. His heart began to swell when he realized his friends didn't forget about him. He followed the balloons and soon walked onto the large room JB designated for entertaining.

Shouts and cheers of happy birthday erupted. Hyunjin's eyes filled with happy tears as he looked around and saw everyone he cared about celebrating him.

"Happy birthday, Jinnie," Minji said, pulling him into a hug. "Did you really think I could forget about you?" A light blush painted his cheeks.

"I didn't see younfor breakfast as usual," he admitted. "I thought you did."

"Never. I'll always make sure my loved ones have the best birthdays ever," the older woman promised.

"Thank you, noona. You're the best," the birthday boy said. "Now where is my cake?"
