In spring of 1987, things started to calm down. After Vecna was defeated, the town worked together for what seemed like eternity to finish rebuilding Hawkins. Plenty of things changed, shops demolished, familiar hangout spots turned into shelters and buildings, but one thing stayed the same. 

Hawkins High school, a nightmare for some, memories and fun for others. Of course, as soon as everything was normal again, the kids had to go back to school. And there was prom. A dance that happened every year, of course, but this one was special. In some weird way, it also celebrated the hardships and trauma the town of Hawkins went through. Some sort of final celebration for what everyone had overcome, how they’ve become better people.

Unfortunately, though, the Byers family had to get back to California. As much as they were happy for the reconstruction of Hawkins and their tremendous victory, it was safer where they used to live. Even though there was no possible threat here, Joyce was paranoid. 

Lucas, Mike, and Dustin were the most devastated out of everyone.

Lucas would miss Will and El. He shared lots of good memories with them. He would miss Jonathan too, as he was practically there for his whole life, when taking Will to campaigns and watching them to make sure nothing happened. He was sad that it was time to part ways; possibly for good.

The Byers family spoke of possible plane visits, but it was just false hope. It was already going to cost so much for them to go back to California, it would take a long time for them to get back on their feet. And even then, frequent visits were not a possibility. It was depressing, but everyone knows nothing lasts forever, after all.

Mike would miss Will the most. He was already grieving, even though they hadn’t left just yet. During battle, a panicked Mike poured his heart out to Will. He was so worried Will would die, and he realized he’d been neglecting their relationship. After the battle, the two reconnected and got together over time. 

But Dustin was the most anxious. A weird reaction to someone leaving, as you’d expect them to be upset or crying. And Dustin was upset, but he was also planning something.

Over the years, he’s had a huge crush on El. Once she became Mike’s girlfriend, he quickly seeked a way to get over her. He had a girlfriend for a while, he focused on other people, he made new friends such as Eddie and Steve, but nothing was enough to get over his feelings for El. 

The second he realized Mike and El got together, his heart shattered like glass. He, of course, didn’t want to strain the party’s bond more than it already was, so he kept it cool. But all he felt was regret for not telling her of his feelings beforehand. 

Now there was a similar feeling once again. 

Mike and El agreed their relationship wasn’t healthy and they shouldn’t have been together in the first place. They agreed to stay as friends, and that they loved each other, but not romantically. They weren’t meant to be together. 

Dustin felt like an asshole, but he was more than thrilled when he heard about their breakup. He was incredibly excited to finally confess to someone he’d been pining over for five years. 

But he kept putting it off, kept overthinking and getting scared, and now that the family said they would be moving, he knew he had to do something.

Because even if El rejected him, he’d most likely never see her again. He needed to finally say something, get those feelings out. If El did reciprocate, he’s handled long distance before. It was fine for him. El did, too, even though the person she was with wasn’t exactly the greatest for her. 

So he finally had an idea. Since prom was coming up, he’d ask her to go with him. He already told his friends, they told theirs, and because everyone wanted to make it a special final day for El, they voted for her to be prom queen. Dustin was voted as prom king in addition. He was really hoping El felt the same.

It was now May 25th, the day before prom. Joyce went with Dustin to help him buy a suit and a bouquet of flowers. 

Now he was pacing in his home. He had his hair done, his suit on and his bouquet in hand. He was waiting for his ride. He didn’t know what to say, or when to say it, or how to say it. He’d been practicing with Steve on what to do, and Steve tried so hard to give him advice, but he kept thinking of the worst possible scenarios. 

Steve offered to give him a ride to El’s house, but he didn’t know how else to help. So now it was up to Dustin to come up with the perfect thing to say.

summary: mutual pinning between the scoops ahoy worker and the barista across the food court.

robin was sick and tired of watching steve stare at the new girl across the mall. ever since you started working at a cafe opposite scoops ahoy in the food court, steve had suddenly taken a new found enthusam for being on the front desk - and robin wasn’t stupid, she had noticed his ‘slightly creepy’ staring at the poor girl who she remembered from their shared timed in high school. what was also creeping robin out was the fact steve was now early to his shifts, steve was many things but early was not one of them. robin’s breaking point was when she picked up on the fact steve had stopped trying to hit on every teenage girl who entered a 5 foot radius. 

on this particular wednesday robin could make out your figure clearing tables, simply minding your own business, with a sigh she turns to face steve who’s eyes are already following you, “why don’t you just talk to her?” “talk to who?” steve tries to play dumb, “the cafe girl you’ve been ooggling for the past 2 weeks” “her name is Y/N” “oh, she has a name!” robin claps her hands sarcastically, “brillant, so enlighten me - why do you know her name?” “because we went to high school with her” steve raises an eyebrow finally taking his gaze of you to stare at robin, “steve, do you really expect me to believe you remember a girl from high school who you probably never spoke to.” “how do you know i never spoke to her?” steve counters “did you ever speak to her?” “no, but-” “there is no but, why do you know her name? oh my god- have you been stalking this poor girl?” “what? NO! i just may have started visiting their cafe everyday before or after my shift” steve admits somewhat sheepishly “so you’re telling me that you’ve spoken to this girl” robin gestures wildly with her hands, “but not asked her out of made a move? thats not very king steve of you” she uses quotation marks with her fingers, “look, i’ve tried but she’s just” steve looks around exasperatedly, “different” robin gasps, “she makes you nervous” “no, i never said that!” “but that’s what it is, isn’t it? isn’t it?” robin repeated over and over poking steve in the side causing steve to lose his temper and bickering to occur, what they don’t realise while caught up in their argument is you walking into the store, in fact neither of them have any clue you’re there until you cough slightly and mumble a very quiet, ‘excuse me’.

the pair in front of you physically jump apart at the sound of your voice, “sorry i um didn’t mean to scare y’all” you cringe, “i was just wondering if you guys had any spare whipped cream we’ve ran out? i know it sounds so stupid but theres this kid at the cafe i work at right now having a full on meltdown because i said i couldn’t put any on his hot chocolate and i swear to god if i have to listen to a 2 year old screech in my fucking ear one more time i’m gonna loose it” you press your lips together offering a smile after your small rant.

for once in her life robin decides to actively help steve out by giving him the chance to reply to you yet after an awkward amount of silence she glances at him out of the corner of her eye to find his cheeks a deep crismon, he is nervous, she thinks before deciding to cut in to help whatever the fuck is going on, “uh yeah we do, i’ll go grab some!” she wanders off leaving you and steve again in silence, slightly cursing him to do something - anything. 

you cannot take much more of steve’s gawking at you, “so how's it going?” you offer a conversation starter, this helps snap steve out of his daze, “uh yeah, it’s um, it’s going - h-h-how are you?” he slightly stumbles over his words and you can see a red creep up his neck, “yeah i’m good” and soon you fall into a small conversation in which you decide to ask, “i was actually wondering if maybe you want-” “i got it!” robin reappears cutting off your almost-date proposal, with a sigh you slap on a smile and take the cream from her, “thanks so much,” you start to back out of the store, “oh and steve? i’ll have your regular ready for you tomorrow” you smile, “you’re a lifesaver” steve calls after you, his mind racing through what just happened and if you were going to ask what he thought you were going to, “your regular?” robin cocks an eyebrow, “black coffee.” steve mumbles, “steve!” robin exclaims “you don’t even like coffee!” “i might” “no you don’t and that’s a fact! once i let you try some of mine to which you said and i quote it tastes like ‘satans asshole’” “well maybe it’s grown on me” “no,” robin tuts “Y/N has grown on you” robin teases, “yeah well you ruined that chance,” steve pouts slightly, “what?” his best friend stares blankly at him, “she was gonna ask me something but you cut her off with your stupid cream!” “she asked for the cream!” “well you couldn’t wait 5 minutes?” steve shrugs with wide eyes waving his arms manically. 

you wander back across the mall, and a sigh escapes your lips once you get back to your cafe, where your friend and co-worker is staring at you with an expectant gaze, “well?” she asks, to which you shake your head, “i didn’t get to ask him, i got interrupted.” “ah too bad kid,” Y/B/F says ruffling, “well there's always tomorrow, when he comes in for his coffee which he throws away after talking to you” “yeah” you giggle, “there’s always tomorrow” “and once he says yes to going out with you please stop staring at him across the food court, you’re making many families and myself uncomfortable with you eye undressing” “hey!” you get defensive “i don’t eye-” “yes, yes you do Y/N” a blush covers your face, “in my defense, i think it’s the hair” this leaves both you and your coworker in an abundance of laughter all while robin and steve are back in another argument, going back and forth about how ‘robin ruined the moment’.

First of all, I LOVE INTJ’S I wish I was one of you guys ahhh!

Eddie is an ENFP, and as one, he’s going to have a deeper understanding of his emotions, he’s going to be attracted and value your logical look on things.

And as an INTJ his enthusiasm and outlook on life and its many exciting possibilities is exactly what you’ll love about him.

I feel like you would meet Eddie through school, but you two had never had much of a conversation. You were way too shy to approach him, but he was definitely somebody you observed a lot. He piqued your interest, and you couldn’t take your eyes off of him in the cafeteria.

Then Robin and You both got jobs at the video store (along with Steve) It was definitely one of your dream jobs, to sit there and talk about movies all day, and let loose with your friends, no real work was ever really done, it felt like you were all just hanging out.

It was a usually occurrence to take your Polaroid with you every where you went, you’d keep it on hand at work, at school, anywhere really. Sometimes taking goofy pics of Steve, or artistic shots of Robin. You had also snuck a couple of Eddie here and there, him and his band playing, shots of him in the courtyard of the school.

And one fateful day at school, you lost your backpack. All your school work, two movie rentals from work, and the secret Polaroids of Eddie that you kept hidden in your bag. Though at the time you hadn’t been worried about that part, I mean, who would be invasive enough to go through your personal belongings?

Next thing you know, your at work, minding your own business when the door opens, and the bell goes off. Revealing Eddie Munson as he walked through the frame.

At first you looked up ever so slightly, then down in embarrassment, you always felt so shy around him. You figured he would do what he usually did, go off to the fantasy or horror section to look for new campaign inspiration, and yet in seconds you heard a thud on the counter in-front of you.

There he was in all his glory, Eddie Munson, with your bag on the counter and a sly, cheerful grin on his face. You froze, your face began to burn. “ Found this in the library, you should probably take better care of this thing, could’ve gotten into the wrong hands.” You got up from your stool, grabbing your bag and muttering “ I’ll keep that in mind.”

You expected him to leave after you had taken it, but he didn’t, he took something out of his jacket pocket and slid it onto the desk.

It was the photos you had taken of him.

“ I also found these-“ your heart stopped at the sight of them, you felt angry, betrayed, embarrassed.

“ You went through my bag?” Your voice was filled with disappointment.

Eddie brushed your attitude off with a light hearted chuckle, “ Lost backpacks are just asking to be opened and looked through, I couldn’t help myself- truly.”

“ You’re an amazing photographer though and honestly I’m pretty flattered, I always knew I was photogenic.”

You couldn’t help but smile.

You’re definitely artistic and a bit more eccentric than some of the others in Stranger Things. I got inspo from late 70’s fashion and 80’s goth fashion, I wanted to go with something darker and eclectic that gave me the INTJ/Aries vibe.
