Planet of the Apes Video Essays

In honor of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes coming out in May, I've made a list of video essays and podcasts for anyone who is either a fan of the original and reboot franchises, just getting into the series, or simply interested.

going insane about the usage of the comics code authority seal in spider-verse

#cyan's #watch storystreet's spider-verse video #it's wild they made that before atsv #LIKE this set of rules imposing what can or can't be depicted in these stories #*literally* what atsv is about #also (can't find a primary source for this but) apparently the comics code authority banned interracial relationships #which makes me love that miles/gwen is the central romantic relationship in these movies even more #anyway. can't wait for beyond to open with the seal getting torn off

People keep making new Community video essays and I don’t care that like 90% of them say similar things I am enjoying every last one of them.

#the storystreet essay on abed's uncontrollable christmas is hands down the best i've watched it 5 times in the last two or three weeks #but more just keep coming and i'm please #i need to go back to rewatching this show at some point

Still don’t like the third film, but Rise and Dawn are near and dear to my heart. StoryStreet delivers an absolutely brilliant analysis of the film that reinvigorated a dead franchise.

HHBomberguy's Sherlock Is Garbage, Here's Why and StoryStreet's Community- What Makes it Great, and Brockrin's The First Unspoilable Show (about Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency) are three completely different video essays about three completely different shows but they are all right all evoke the exact same response from me

#you could argue dghda and community arent all that different but still #they are all valid truths that are ignored by the greater public #one about a show that should have been cancelled and the other two about shows that shouldnt have been
